do you know any places i can go to get some more ideas for dressing butch?

you mean like websites or blogs that have resources on how to style yourself or what to wear? off the top of my head, @queeronclearance @shedoeshimfashion and @shesagent are some great places to start if you’re looking for butch inspo. 

if you’re asking specifically what brands/stores, i get most of my clothes from thrift stores or queer exchanges tbh. otherwise, h&m is good for business casual clothes like slacks and button downs, as well as joggers and cargo pants. i highly recommend american eagle’s boxer briefs and jeans, they look and feel amazing. my favorite shirt in the world is actually from old navy, but i think they discontinued the cut because i’ve never been able to find another like it :(

if you’re anything like me (short and small), you should definitely invest in a good tailor or at least learn how to hem your own pants. menswear is notorious for never fitting properly - too long, too baggy, too tight around the hips, etc.

some personal style tips from me? you should absolutely wear a carabiner at all times, this is your Lesbian Badge. get some good clunky dyke boots for stomping around. match your shoes with your belt color. buy a denim jacket and make it your own with some cool pins and patches. be loud and proud.

finally, there’s no one way to dress butch. butchness is all about rejecting what society says you must look and act like as a woman, and instead presenting in a way that feels true and authentic to yourself. and remember that transitioning to any new style is gradual! i’ve only discovered myself as butch within the last year and a half, and i’m still learning what i like and don’t like, what works and what doesn’t. it’s a slow process with lots of trial and error but the end result is so worth it. good luck and much butch love to you!!

However, in keeping with the times, @shaoy suggested that I let go of that idea and instead sold me on a non conforming navy jacket. The body is made up of a basketweave pattern in 100% wool and the contrasting sleeves are cashmere wool. Her final twist was a half inch decorative piping along the lapel and front edge of the jacket.
