Day 2 : Role Swap
Ok I have thoughts for this one bear with me. He’s a mage with a half-foot guild still but his activism is especially targeted towards half-foot mages specifically since they’re rare and so looked down upon (and the two are correlated).
Marcille scouts out places all Tomb Raiser style for lost treasures and knowledge, keeps maps and written info etc in her book. She’s still much of a scholar but more in an archeologist sense, she wants to discover the truth of dungeons and see if it could revolutionize the world. She’s a buildings and engineering nerd instead of magic nerd. She hypes herself up as a passionate cool rogue adventurer like in books✨ Chil thinks it’s a silly and unstable profession. All her um, grace and agility when doing headstands and dancing are coming through with this new role of hers.
Chil does need to borrow mana and so they hold hands a lot. I am so taking advantage of the mana transfer thing. "I’m out of mana, you’re an elf and you never use magic, give some to me! You have so much, don’t be selfish!!" -inparty fight breaks out as he chases after her and she runs away- I imagine that’s just kinda how he and half-foot mages roll? Dunmeshi-typical worldbuilding monologue that explains how "Most people don’t even use their mana, they don’t even learn magic. If you give me your mana I’ll be able to do more magic, win-win, no harm done." I imagine you have to be magic-savvy to be able to transfer mana to someone but it’s fine he can just steal it methinks 🌟 So he gets to be the one who’s very casual about physical touch. He does NOT want to be a healer it stresses him out but ah shit there Falin goes.

More AU details under cut
You’ve heard of onion knight now get ready for onion mage Y’know the saddest part of mage Chilchuck is that he wouldn’t use explosion spells
You know how Marcille uses her staff to grab people by the neck or head sometimes… Chilchuck would have a free choking stick he can use to make people listen to him. He can REACH THEIR NECKS . It doubles as a walking stick for his old man back… /j And a weapon, sort of. I think staff more than lance, but long weapons like that suit him I think. Holding the monster at bay with a 4 feet long stick like "Stay BACK!! Go for my party members shoo shoo!!!!"
From my observations, staffs for magic all have a ‘hole’ at one end, oh size, shape, material and form varying. For example both Marcille and Rin have a similar hoop, but Falin’s is a lantern which imo the metal frame of it and the glass form this hole I’m speaking of. Maybe it’s like, the staff condenses the magic inside the hole and helps channel it and give it form? What I’m saying here is I didn’t decide what it was made out of but I like to think it’s carved wood so it can be homemade but unique to him.
Marcille and Chil both fight in battles, but he stays where it’s safer and does long distance spells only. Marcile uses daggers probably… But yeah her role’s more being a scout rather than a fighter, while Chil’s role is being a magical fighter and his expertise on magical creatures and such.
I think he’d be self-taught, where it’s his own magic system… I think he likes theory more than vibes and working at the whims of creatures, so maybe elven with an half-foot script? He doesn’t seem like the type to get buddy-buddy with spirits much A bit like his cowl it’s like he always has a part of home with him a bit with his half-foot magic… He’d have sucked at the beginning, it’s pretty experimental magic, but he made it work and tbh he’s a Big Deal for it. Learning on the field ofc ofc he’s no honor student
I think the racial prejudices tension would be worse, because he’d be nervous of the whole ‘half-foots who get too curious about dark magic get taken away’, and I think as a half-elf who doesn’t do magic it might be uncomfortable for her to deal with how the half-foot is better at it than her and how her mana would have had better use with him instead of her? Idk brainstorming. I def think she’d habe more of a complex about being a half-elf… Still with existential dread and still Hopes to find a cure to death, but she goes about it through artefacts etc rather than magic. I’m unsure how her career would turn out that wqy exactly because job stability and academia are important to her, but yeah I think she went to school on an agricultural and history level and focused her research on that front? And then she could become that adventurer scholar who explores to pierce secrets of the world and ancient civilizations trope yeah I think that’s the angle.
Maybe his plans for the future after quitting being a dungeon diver would be teacher/mentor instead of shopkeeper 🤔 One one hand oh god have mercy on his blood pressure, on the other he likes contributing to his community and would want to encourage half-foot mages and pass down his knowledge and expertise I think. Empty nest syndrome where…- OHHH mage Meijack……. I was thinking becayse Meijack followed in his footsteps in canon but it could suit Puckpatti and Flertom too… Their dad would have shown them some magic tricks hehe. They can be a magical girl trio in my heart, Powerpuff Girls energy…
A rogue has gotta be able to make intricate af braids and updos with their fingers (ignore how in canon Chil is just barely decent at them nvm). I was thinking maybe one of Marcille’s lockpicks is Ambrosia-shaped… Or maybe it’s an hairpin. Maybe she keeps her lockpicks as pins in her hair but they’re easy to grab… Getting more gimmicky by the second but my heart yearns for it I cannot lie. I ended up doing something close to canon for Marcille’s outfits but at first I imagined she’d wear stuff more akin elven fashion, short dress with pants, light material, though also with a leather armor breastblate. She has long gloves like the ones that look fancy, maybe even up her upper arm rather than just forearm ooh… Also her little pouch, which actually contains stuff this time around (lockpicks). They still have matching pouches yay
In that last doodle Chilchuck weaved her a little familiar with twigs… So it is magical but it’s hers, and it’s a second stand-in for Ambrosia. Maybe a golem… It’s very silly and prob not real in the au but the thought of it is really cute. Someone on the discord said Fantastical Beasts Pickett which yesss lmao, it’s like a pokemon for "(lock)pick it!" I love arts and crafts Chilchuck so much. Sew clothes. Weave twigs. Woodcarve. Necromance a frankenstein. He can make himself a new wife (/J I AM SO /J)
Also for Izutsumi: I think the reverse of a ninja is a bard. Take that as you will. Angry bard who grew up in a troupe……

i forever have dnd brainrot so,,, aftg dnd vibes
Neil is, of course, a rogue. lock picking, quick, lying sneaky lil bastard. In particular I would make him a Mastermind rogue as it comes with disguise profienecy , boosts so lying and vibes of a manipulator. I'd also build him into a wood elf - for the mechanical speed and hide buffs; but id flavour him as a half elf. The Hatford family would be elven and Mary is the one who trained Neil to hide and run. Other than some small things, he would look almost identical to his human father.
Now the Ravens in dnd, to me, are a Paladin order that is a lot more of a defined cult. They'd be a mix of Oath of Glory Paladins (one of their channel divinities is literally called Peerless Athlete) and Oath of Conquest Paladins (Kevin was Glory, Riko is Conquest) Paladins are physical builds with good Charisma and you can think whatever you like about the Ravens, they are charismatic (also to note, intimidation is a charisma skill in dnd)
now Oathbreaker has a very specific vibe but what I will focus on is the feeling of emptiness and darkness that come with it. Kevin is an oathbreaker when he leaves the Ravens, but he won't remain as one indefinitely. He would retake his Oath of Glory when it could mean something different to him (which would align with canon Kevin gtting his new tattoo). For him, being an Oathbreaker is connected to his fear and depression rather than any form of evil (High CHA Kevin is so funny to me bc its canon and i love a CHA build who generally doesnt seem charismatic until they turn it on) Kevin is a high elf seemingly in every way. He took after his mother almost entirely.
As said, Riko is a Conquest Paladin - I would also consider giving him a few levels in Shadow Sorcerer; as something he just is inherently rather than something he's trained to be like Paladin. Riko is also a half elf; most of the Moriyama family are High Elves but his mother was human. Riko can't claim that his family doesnt like him because of this, because Ichirou is also a half elf.
Returning to the foxes--
Andrew is a fighter. Human fighter, a v basic build lmao. he is a champion fighter; he's just a fucking threat.
Nicky is absolutely a bard (glamour). I would love to pitch Nicky as a Satyr because of their interest in freedom, revelry and enjoyment.
(can i just say its so hard to do dnd thoughts when so many characters are related and youre autistic so you have to factor all of that in)
Renee is a Barbarian/Cleric multiclass in the way that she used to be a barbarian and now mostly ignores those abilities to focus on her cleric shit. Light domain cleric. Also she is an air genasi and the colours in her hair are natural and look like the colours of sunset or sunrise on clouds
Dan is also a human fighter but she's a banneret fighter; which has a focus on inspiring allies. Still a threat, just also an inspirational one.
Aaron is a ranger; gloomstalker as he lurks around a lot. Mechanically he wouldn't be as high a level as Andrew. Neil is his favoured enemy.
Matt is a sun soul monk, taught to him by his mother. Bright and also quite scary when he's trying to kill you.
Allison is a bard/fighter multiclass. Similar to Renee, her Bard levels come from before her life with the foxes but she doesn't ignore them like Renee does. Eloquence Bard, champion fighter

Baldur's Gate 3 Tav Ask List
1, 19, 23, 52, 89, 90, 91, 104 xx
(@bladesandbhaalspawn)
OHOHOHOHO THANK YOU FOR THE ASK PROMPTS
I wasn’t sure which of my Tavs was being asked for, so I’m using Briar Lockren, my half-drow Gloomstalker Ranger since I haven’t posted much about her while the Twins have quite a few deets about them! Plus, these questions felt like they applied to her best (and you may get some deets on her Dark Urge companion as well…)
Tumblr media
[ANSWERS BELOW THE CUT]
1. What is their backstory and why did you choose it?
Some OOC background about Briar, I didn't originally make her as a Tav. I made her months ago as a fake Companion Quest called The Weary Ranger. I made a full Companion Guide with fake screenshots as a creative exercise and got very attached to her. This is one of those screenshots:
Tumblr media
Like with all of the REAL Companions, I based her backstory on exploring the theme of abuse. The other companions focus on different aspects of parental abuse, abuse of power structures, sexual exploitation, systemic exploitation, etc., so I decided to focus on abuse in romantic relationships and dealing with an abusive ex.
[CW for abusive partners, implied coercion and sexual abuse, violence, etc. - I'll also be brief with her backstory and try to be specific when necessary]
Briar was raised in Luskan by her single father in the Cult of Cyric. Her dad was a full drow while her mother was 3/4 drow. Basically, Briar's mom had an affair with a half wood elf and left Briar in her husband's care before eloping, so Briar's dad was never really keen on actually taking care of her. His hands-off approach mixed with the prejudice against her in the Cult made it tough for her to accept their teachings.
Her closest friend was a boy her age named Ronan Amberclaw (I think I called him "Rowan" elsewhere, my bad lol). He was the underachieving son of the sect's leader, so the pressure was ON. Ronan and Briar were basically inseparable growing up.
Skip ahead a few years to when they're in their late teens - Briar's basically left the cult while Ronan's decided to stay. They've been friends forever so Briar doesn't hold the cult thing against him (the start of her blinders). They enter a rose-tinted romantic relationship. Briar (a rogue at this point) is persuaded to help Ronan's activities because they're fighting Banite uprisings. Briar's able to justify her involvement because, to her, it's the lesser of two evils.
But as time goes on, Ronan begins to lie about his activities more and more, and becomes more and more possessive. He gaslights, belittles, coerces and controls her, and does so in ways she can justify to himself. She continues to enable his activities, turning her blinders on full.
This goes on for years, until one night Ronan does what he's basically been primed to do his entire life: murder his father and take over the cult. This gets him recognized by Cyric, and he becomes his Chosen. Briar can't exactly excuse that - nice, decent people don't get recognized by Cyric, that just doesn't happen. Ronan, in the blink of an eye, drops his pretenses and makes it very difficult for Briar to look past his intention. She bolts, but not before receiving a brand of Cyric on her arm. Ronan's cursed her.
What does this curse entail? Metaphysical levels of horrible luck, the kinds of bad luck that can leave a happy village smoldering. Ronan visits her in nightmares, wraiths haunt the edges of her vision, and life SUCKS. Making connections means people die. Settling down means people die. Briar's options are go back to Ronan, or wander around until she dies.
Tumblr media
Ever the optimist despite everything, she takes up the mantle of a Ranger, inspired by stories of similar souls who have ovecome impossible odds (such as Drizzt). She vows to hunts the beasts she attracts. In her mind, she's being selfish since she doesn't want to return to Ronan, so she vows to be strong enough to make up for the harm she causes.
Three years later, while wandering around Cloakwood, she gets picked up by the Nautiloid and spat out about a tenday away from Baldur's Gate. The tadpole in her head cuts off the effects of Ronan's curse and his ability to spy in on her.
Mielekki's race that was long.
19. What's your Tav's personality like at the start of the game? Does it change as the game goes on?
At the start of the game, she's fresh off the heels of 3 years of nightmare-fueled insomnia, so she's pretty lethargic and spacey. She's so used to a life out of her control by this point that she's quite passive, but also emotional and observant. She carries herself with a quiet sensitivity, and is deceptively capable when she's actually lucid. Underneath it all is a deep self-hatred and a desire to be stronger. She's constantly ensuring she pays for her past passivity, believing her lot in life isn't the result of a vindictive asshole but rather some kind of divine judgment. It's easier than actually pinning blame on the person who's been hurting her all this time.
Tumblr media
Though her moral values don't change much, her personality and outlook on life become a lot more outwardly optimistic quite quickly. She becomes louder and easy to fluster, she's receptive to conversation and far more courageous and outspoken (I don't have any specific art of that lol)
Tumblr media
She's already a moral guide for the Dark Urge (after all, he's the main character of the save Briar's in), but she's much more ready for it. As she encourages him to fight his Urges and live for himself, she internalizes the lessons she teaches and has started learning to advocate for herself too.
Basically, she's learning the answer to "do all my friends secretly hate me or do I just need to go to bed" is "you just need to go to bed". Quality of life really does improve when you can get 8 hours of sleep instead of having to run on 2 hours a week because your evil ex boyfriend is haunting your dreams with evil God magic.
23. What's their opinion of Emerald Grove? Do they help the tieflings or side with the druids?
Aha see this is one of the questions I was like "oh this is MEANT for Briar".
Siding against the tieflings was never an option for Briar. She knows what it's like to have no place to turn to, and she would give anything for safety and comfort. However, Briar's also quite familiar with Druidic circles thanks to her time spent in Cloakwood. Hell, at that point in the playthrough, she was a Ranger-Druid multiclass of Mielikki (I changed that once I recruited the hireling Dyven since he's a cleric so I didn't need an extra healer anymore). She's run into nicer circles AND the Shadow Druids, so Kagha's dogma struck her as odd for a druid of Silvanus. Something didn't smell right. She and Durge investigated further and were able to liberate Kagha from the Shadow Druids AND stop the Rite of Thorns!
Tumblr media
52. What does your Tav think of Dame Aylin?
Dame Aylin is everything Briar wants to be, and everything she is. Briar adores Dame Aylin for her strength and resilience. She wants to have her fury and is inspired to reflect on her own situation. It's thanks to that that Briar is able to start allowing herself to be angry about what Ronan's done to her.
But on the other hand, Briar sees the exhaustion too. Just like Aylin, she's tired of having to fight against those who would see her victimized. She wants rest, peace, tranquility.
She wishes to be as strong as Aylin, and she wishes for the day neither of them have to be.
ACT 3 SPECULATION TIME
So this playthrough's only reached Act 3 recently, so the rest is speculation or how I think the playthrough ought to go based on what I know and how the characters have worked out thus far! OBVIOUSLY, SPOILERS FOR ACT 3 AHEAD
89. Does your Tav side with the Emperor or do they free Orpheus? Do they become Illithid to use the Nether Stones or does one of their companions do it? Do they give the Nether Stones to the Emperor/Orpheus?
The team already doesn't really trust Emps. Seeing as their whole arcs are about defying the odds and breaking free of their shackles, Durge, Briar & Dyven aren't exactly keen on Emps' strategy involing keeping Orpheus sedated and under his control to be exploited. How convenient that freeing Orpheus just... isn't an option. Hm. Interesting.
Since this is a no-Companion run (that is, the main 6), there won't be any companions to turn Illithid. I can't see Durge letting Briar throw away her future to become illithid, and I can't see Briar letting Durge do the same so.... sorry, Orpheus.
As for the Nether Stones, that's a bit of a blindspot for me. I can't imagine they'd give them to the Emperor if Emps isn't keen on cooperation.
90. Do they betray the Emperor/Orpheus/their companions for the Absolute?
ABSOLUTE-LY NOT. That's not even a question for her. Any ideations she has on the idea are on the same level as "What if I murdered my terrible boss" - she's not seriously entertaining the temptation. That kind of power just isn't worth it to her. Not after she's seen what power does to decent people (note: I don't think Ronan was ever really a decent person, but her perspective is a bit different from mine in this regard).
101. Did your Tav recruit Minsc? What's their opinion of him?
I wanna circle back to #91 in just a sec.
The Weary Ranger is a HUGE fan of the Beloved Ranger. Though she's more obviously inspired by stories of Drizzt, Minsc's exploits have always enchanted her. Actually meeting him is a dream come true. His blunt, optimistic and straightforward approach to every situation is exactly the kind of influence she needs. After all, her other mentors up until then have been a bunch of morally-conflicted dadfailure-coded sad sacks (and Halsin), so having someone who can cut through the bullshit and do good for the sake of it is refreshing!
91. Does your Tav get a happily ever after?
I think she will. Considering the relationship between Cyric and a certain skeletal freak at camp, I can absolutely see her curse becoming a non-issue after the story proper.
I think she and Durge will go their separate ways on good terms, and I think she'll follow Halsin. She'll settle into a home for the first time in forever with someone who she loves and is loved by.
I don't know if she'll stay there or if she'll get up and explore the Sword Coast on her own terms someday. She's not particularly maternal, nor do I know if she ever will be. But she's young with a whole life ahead of her to decide what she wants - and the room to do so on her own terms.
The scars of her past won't go away. Her brand will be gone, but the twisting remnants of her curse mark will stay tattooed to her skin. Her nightmares will be mundane and they might never go away. She will grieve the boy she fell in love with and think about him every time she stares up at the same stars they used to give stupid names to as kids. Someday, she’ll let him go, and every day until and after that will be a struggle.
But I assure you: she will be happy.
Tumblr media
ANYWAY Thank You For These Awesome Ask Prompts!!
I had lotsa fun with this~ Briar is a character who is very near-and-dear to my heart. Not only is she a remake of my first D&D character, she was extremely cathartic to write while dealing with a pretty severe low point in my life.
ALSO SORRY IF THIS WAS WAY TOO LONG AND ALSO NOT THE CHARACTER YOU WANTED TO LEARN ABOUT LMAO

🕯🕯🕯🕯 - mare, paultin, evelyn, and diath :3c
MARE
Tumblr media
madison relates mare to one perfume in specific : inexcusable evil . both for name sake and the scent notes . the perfume being described as pungent , metallic , and almost unnerving clean at the same time , and comparisons such as “ a dead body in a swimming pool “ and “ the operating room of a dying patient “ , THIS perfume PERFECTLY encapsulates mare in mads’ mind.
PAULTIN
Tumblr media
EASILY marnan associates paultin with a stellar cologne : gentleman eau de parfum reserve privee . the notes are listed as a wonderful mix of chestnut , iris , and whiskey . a scent described as mature and alluring once the sting of whiskey has worn down . the way the smell works is what draws marnan to the comparison . to meet paultin initially there was a sting of liquor , knowing immediately the man was a drunkard , but as time passes the half-elf finds sweeter undertones in the human .
EVELYN
Tumblr media
oh , this was too easy for the cleric . evelyn’s perfume is : honey . scent notes of peach , honeysuckle , and woods . described as a perfect sunny day , a fresh new start , a childhood memory . marnan thinks this is perfect to describe the paladin with never ending bouts of positivity and resilience . she IS a sunny day , she IS a brand new start . this perfume encapsulates that image the cleric has of her perfectly .
DIATH
Tumblr media
ah , diath . there are very few scents that marnan could compare to the impression that was the rogue ; but , one that sticks out that the cleric thinks is a perfect match is : memoirs of a trespasser . scent notes of madagascar vanilla , myrrh , and oak barrels . being described as " a really good camping trip that you’ll remember " and " in an old victorian house that overlooks the wind whipped waves " . the half-elf thinks this describe diath beautifully , a man of many adventures , a man who held a warm , comforting air ; even to complete strangers , the rogue was nothing but compassionate , something that marnan respects greatly . for that compassion alone , that warm , familiar air , this is diath's !
what do you smell like ? | @murdermelody

How many Tavs have you created and why have they all romanced Gale? 😏
A LOT. When I first got the game they didn't have the option to change your character's appearance via the mirror and I actually started over at one point even though I was all the way in act 2 because I decided I didn't like her hair anymore. Then I made it to act 3 with a rogue half wood elf before starting over as a rogue half drow and realized I like that specific origin better and found "my character." With her I made it to act 3...started to realize I didn't like playing as a rogue, found out monks were "OP" as per reddit...so I started over as a monk and found I love punching people <3
I still haven't finished...that's my goal before I start over, lol. (though I did roll out a full drow sorcerer to try Astarion's romance, and I think the only way I finish a playthrough where I don't romance Gale is if I play it in tandem with my other playthrough, LOL.)
Anyway Roselle is my main girl, my love. She acts. She has mommy issues. She cried when Gale mentioned the name "Tara" and then cried again (albeit in happiness) when she found out Tara was a cat.

So, I'm a new follower that is a bit slow on the uptake. Are Keet, Yonder, Aisling, and Onyx in the same story? Are they interconnected? Yonder 🎯 Keet ✨ Aisling 🧊 Cassius 🍀 Onyx 💼
Omg I appreciate your curiosity about my guys!!! You are not slow on the uptake, my oc tagging system is labyrinthine even to me and I'm sure it's incomprehensible as a new follower djsvbksjbg. Anyway, Yonder and Onyx have connected stories/share a universe, and Aisling and Cassius are in their own separate story, but they're otherwise not connected. They are all my D&D player characters (with the exception of Cassius, who is a side character serving Aisling's story)! I included brief descriptions of each below for a little more context, and their relevant tags are included in the tags on this post if you are curious about any of them.
Yonder (kenku/ravenfolk witch, in their 50s*, pathetic tiny little bird guy, skeevy con artist, wants to literally fight god but is 4'8"): 🎯 What do they do best?
Oh man.......probably finding things out, by which I mean both actually locating things that are hidden and getting information/making discoveries. They are an experimenter at heart and once something's piqued their interest (especially if that something could get them some power they didn't have before), they won't stop poking at it and trying to get to the bottom of it, even if it means making themself a test subject.
Keet (selkie ranger, 19-ish*, amnesiac, washed out of military training and really should let it go, cute dumb lost puppy energy): ✨ How did you come up with the OC’s name?
Hehehe I was hoping someone would ask this about Keet specifically. So she did name herself, being that she woke up alone on a beach about 18 months prior to the start of the story without any recollection of her past life. Her name is the sound an osprey makes, because, when she was living in the woods by herself for the first month or so after waking up, ospreys were some of the only living things she could talk to semi-regularly. She named herself after their sound because, in her words, "It's nice to feel like at least something is calling your name."
Aisling (half-elf rogue, 23, very fire-themed, kind of unpleasant person unless you know them well, chronic pain haver): 🧊 Is their current design the first one?
Her current design is pretty close to the original one from several years ago actually! The general body type, big face scar, hair and skin tone, black and red colors, and gold key accents were all there from the start. The blackthorn cane and white blackthorn flowers are added motifs that are more recent though. (The original art is very old please do not ask to see it vkdsbvkjdvbksb)
Cassius (orc healer, 71, extremely sweet old man with nonetheless crippling anxiety and self-esteem issues, 7'5" gentle giant, widower): 🍀 What originally inspired the OC?
Man this is kind of a hard question for me to answer about any of these guys because ultimately a lot of things probably influenced them, but Cassius is like. The comparison that comes to mind is the bishop from the beginning of Les Miserables lmao. He's that kind of fatherly archetype.
Onyx (formerly human druid turned hellbeast, mid-30s when they died, tar pit/fossil-themed, awful awful person, twisted by vengeance etc.): 💼 What do they do for a living?
Uh, well. When they were alive they were a knight/personal bodyguard for their ruler/lover. Then they were framed for her murder and weren't that anymore. Then they sold their soul to a devil who made them a devil as well. And now they torture people in Hell! They love their new job <3
Apologies if that was a lot but thank you again so much for asking

This has been plaguing my mind for weeks with no end, so I finally wrote it all out with the help of some discord friends. It’s late and I have no idea if this is coherent or not BUT, I present to you:
The Princess Bride characters (but they’re a D&D party)
Westley
Tumblr media
Half-wood-elf swashbuckler rogue! Specifically with the pirate background. This one was extremely easy tbh, but it’s still funny that the perfect fit for him was Right ThereTM.
Inigo
Tumblr media
Human battlemaster fighter! Another friend also suggested bannaret for the subclass for eloquence and such, but we decided battlemaster better fits his skill/maneuvering abilities :] also, guild artisan background due to his father being a sword maker.
Fezzik
Tumblr media
This one was a fun one. Obviously we were thinking some kind of giant race, and originally I had settled on goliath, but also. He’s a sweet guy. he’s gentle. thus: firbolg berserker barbarian! gladiator background because his parents made him fight for money
Buttercup
Tumblr media
Now. Listen. This one is going to be a stretch no matter what class I choose because Buttercup has very little agency in the original movie. However, that also gives me the freedom to do whatever I want and I personally believe that she should be allowed to blow shit up with her mind for the enrichment! She deserves nice things like magic powers, so: high elf wild magic sorcerer! as for her background, i was originally thinking noble, but she also was a farm girl most of her life, so i really don’t know lol
i love assigning d&d stuff to characters from non-d&d media. frothing at the mouth. PLEASE send me requests for characters to do this for, I absolutely will as long as I have some familiarity with them. ultimate useless hobby of all time‼️

random OC ask: what would your OC's ideal home be like? this can be as specific as inspirational pictures, or as general as the vibes they would like it to give off.
Let's see... I've got quite a few ocs, though Sahed is my current main, but I'll share all my BG3 characters and a general summary of what they'd love!
Wyndolyn
My first, my special half orc gal, she grew up always appreciating nature, and she would want that to continue. Some cozy cabin in the middle of the woods near a river where she could fish, forage, and hunt, and be at peace in the solitude of the woods. That sounds perfect for her. She's a simple person with simple desires.
Helena
Helena, my sweet, chaotic rogue, loves the feeling of being in the city. She loves the noise and chaos of it all, and there's so much potential for causing chaos in a place that's just bustling with activity. She'd be happiest with a small house somewhere in the Lower City, a bit away from the main happenings of Baldur's Gate, but close enough that she can still hear it from her balcony. Her cozy little house would be full of treasures and tokens that she's nabbed from all over the place from all sorts of people, littering the shelves and cluttering up the place just a tad, though she doesn't mind it.
Dahlia
My sweet, dangerously curious nerd of a monk. She was fond of her life in the Lathander monastery, though she also loves exploring the world. Her ideal life would be one of a nomad, traveling the world, seeing all sorts of things, helping people along the way, and having a home on a sunny hilltop to always return to that's filled with a library of all the books and knowledge she's accumulated over the years. It would be like her treasure trove that she always has to return to in order to appreciate and add to before continuing onto another adventure.
Vero
My lovely bhaalspawn bard. Vero is someone who imagines herself with a great deal of poise and sophistication. She wants to be the epitome of a proper noble elf, and so her ideal home would be a regal one with large spaces, tall ceilings, and filled with art and culture. A proper palace. She'd have a large wardrobe as well, mostly of purple and blue silks and highly elaborate dresses with a great deal of jewelry to choose from, and would have a beautiful view of the city she lived in from a balcony somewhere in her palace. I imagine it being quite similar to the Szarr palace actually, except with a deep purple wall paper instead of the red and also none of the vampire lair bits lol
Sahed
Two things about Sahed: he greatly enjoys solitude and is also very proud of his dragon heritage. So proud that sometimes he's a bit too much of a nerd about dragon culture and lore and wants to emulate the behavior of a true dragon rather than that of the dragonborn. With that in mind, Sahed's perfect home would be a cave somewhere at the peak of a mountain that's surrounded by forest, with a whole trove of gold, jewels, and tomes of forbidden magic, powerful rituals, and the most fascinating of dragon stories inside. Ideally this cave is looming above some powerful village or town that he has taken power over. He'd want the townspeople to provide him tribute and sacrifice in order to appease him from destroying their town or killing their people, but he may do it anyways if he's in the mood.
Velora (Bonus)
Velora, my sweet, naive cleric that just wants some affection and appreciation, is quite simple. Her ideal home is less about the location and more about having a family inside of it with a partner that adores her and sees all of her, not just her acts of service. She'd like to have a few kids as well that she can dote on and raise in a way that she wishes she had growing up. She's more comfortable in smaller towns in forests, so a nice, comfortable house somewhere with a bit of nature and a bit of community would suit her.

hi babe 🥰 u know dot is my absolute favourite character of stranger things and i love love love her d&d character too. i may not know much about st but i do know about d&d and was wondering if you have thought of the rest of the party’s characters? ✨🤩😽
i love youuuu ✨🤍💕
hi cutie! yes, i have thought about them! i mentioned them in chapter 4 but i didn't expand too much on them so here are all the juicy details for you, my fave non-binary dragonborn 💙
mike plays as mozikith, a green dragonborn warlock. his damage type is poison ofc, and his powers come from a bargain with a fiend, specifically asmodeus who is the supreme master of the nine hells. mike thinks he's so slick choosing him as his patron, because the true knowledge of asmodeus' form is hidden in the demogorgon's citadel, so him knowing how his patron looks like means he's a demogorgon slayer. dustin and erica think he's incredibly lame.
dustin plays as seebo, a forest gnome rogue! as a teen, he learned to pickpocket and rig card games to help feed his 10 siblings. once he reaches lvl 3, he chooses his archetype to be arcane trickster. he's friendly with woodland folk, so he quickly becomes friends with jeff's character.
speaking of jeff, he plays as tharivol, a half-elf druid. he's half wood elf, his fave wild shape is a deer because he thinks ramming someone with his antlers is hilarious but his most used once he unlocks it, is an owl. at lvl 2, he chooses his druid circle to be the circle of the land. he prays to silvanus, the god of wild nature, so aside from being friends with dustin's character, he also considers dot's character trustworthy because she prays to lathander, who is allies with silvanus.
gareth, on the other hand, is a dramatic bitch who plays as despair, a tiefling barbarian. he fights with mike a lot, because the reason he's a tiefling is because his grandpa made a deal with asmodeus before he was even born but they become friends through the sheer power of eddie's magnificent storytelling. he's a bit like the hulk, his secret is that he's always angry and for that, his chosen primal path al lvl 3 is path of the berserker.
donny plays as odorr, a half-orc sorcerer which is honestly my fave character i've created for this. he talks mostly in grunts and short sentences, but he's not stupid, just very reserved because he's used to people judging him for being half-orc. his sorcerous origin is wild magic, he doesn't really know where it comes from and that's his motivation to join the adventuring life. eddie doesn't make him roll for a wild magic surge each time he casts, he instead waits for the emotional moments and that's why donny chose that origin: he knew he could trust his dm to not fuck him over.
erica plays as boldhild, a hill dwarf paladin. she loved playing as lady applejack in the previous campaign, but she wanted to do something different this time, mainly be more sturdy. at lvl 3, she takes her final oath, the oath of vengeance. she was initially going to choose an oath of devotion, but after discussing it with eddie, they both decide that being driven by vengance fits her storyline better.
and finally, we have dottie as holly, a lightfoot halfling cleric! she comes from a family of artisans (they own a bakery), and she prays to lathander, the god of birth and renewal, making her a light domain cleric. she's fascinated by fire and controlling it, and associates with beauty and creation rather than with destruction. her first besties in the campaign are jeff, dustin and donny.
i love you for asking this question, you're the best 🥰

Day 53 - 100 Warm-Up Roleplaying Questions
Every day I use an RNG to pick a question from this list and answer it as four of my dnd characters: Hanne, a human bard; Gat, an orc rogue/warlock; Cogwynn, a half-elf paladin; and Shadow of a Star, a tabaxi wizard. Today's number is: 10
10 If your character had time to pick up any artisan’s tools, game set, instrument, etc., what would it be?
Hanne has learned several instruments, though her favorite is the Lute; she can also play the Drum, Flute, and Pan Flute. She's also got a disguise kit that came in handy in our last session. I think, little troublemaker that she is, she'd love to pick up cards or dice and do some gambling.
Gat is skilled with dice and his thieves' tools. Honestly, he should pick up a handcraft of some sort. Wood carving? Knitting? Something that he can do in quiet moments that will keep his hands busy.
Cogwynn currently lacks skills with tools, but wouldn't it be great if she took up cards? I don't think she'd be a heavy gambler, but it would be a great way to socialize with her group.
Shadow of a Star hasn't turned her hand to any specific tool or game. It would fit her character to get into calligraphy, though.

@true0neutral - Hazel, half-elf cleric
@fauxfire76 - Darvin, human bard/sorcerer
@hyperewok1 - Remi, human paladin/warlock
@miaaoi - Farideh, dragonborn sorcerer
@lindira - Clarity, tiefling rogue/warlock
Brian - Barnabus, minotaur fighter
@lovefrometernity - Rylan, wood elf sorcerer
Last one to catch up on! We were missing an Ava, but we got through okay.
While Hazel and Darvin were in warped mirror!Goldendale, and Clarity and Hazel were in warped mirror!Vanedar manor, Remi and Barnabus found themselves in warped mirror!Ravnica - specifically, Precinct 5, Tenth District, and Barnabus’ last beat before the accident that landed him in Ellon. As with Hazel before her, Remi found herself with no connection to her god or her patron. (Darvin might have had the same problem, but he didn’t actually try to tap into that, so...) After some figuring out what was going on - namely, that they were being stuffed in pocket dimensions so that whatever thought process behind the local sludge could gain a more detailed view of the world.
Alisaie came back to the town square with Rylan and Farideh, and found nobody there, and no one responding to shouting. This was of concern, so she and Rylan tracked Remi and Barnabus (Barnabus being easy to track because hooves). Alisaie hoped that she’d end up in the same place as Remi. Alisaie should not have thought that, because while the divine spark in Darvin’s soul was fairly tiny, Alisaie’s ... was not. No one’s sure exactly what the long-term consequences of this are, but Alisaie did trip into mirror!Ravnica screaming in agony because of whatever force was keeping the divine or celestial out.
Clarity found Henry - specifically, Henry’s soul, which Clarity took with her (in the lollipop she’d bought for him at the Egref sweet shop) so that Hazel could perform the rites to let his spirit move forward. When she’s grieving a little less, she might note that somehow, even if it obviously did some damage, the Archfey of Mischief and Whimsy either somehow freed Henry’s soul before it could be corrupted beyond repair or somehow cleansed it. Then again, given Clarity’s memory trip and losing Ava midway through her adventure, she wasn’t in the best state to think on it.
Remi, Barnabus, Farideh, and Rylan all ended up in the Ismeri Library with a barely-conscious Alisaie and a very worried winged dire moose ... and found Petunia, whose soul was apparently stuck in-between because of that worthy’s efforts to keep the death fog contained. Petunia recommended that if they wanted to skip the twisted version of memory lane, they could just offer up a memory of a place and hope that the entity was placated. It seemed to work, and as Henry was granted escape via a large lollipop, Petunia was granted escape via Rylan’s scarf.
Hazel and Darvin saw some pretty horrifying sites in that version of Goldendale, but after tripping over the Tailor-Green manor (Darvin’s old home), Hazel started swearing about “It’ll be the knife-eared bitch next!” ... which references her mother. And since hers was the loudest thought-pattern at that point, they went into the Tailor-Green manor ... except they didn’t, because they found themselves in a prison. Not in one of the cells, thankfully. In one of the cells, though, was a woman who looks very much like the Lady Emavaela but had clearly been locked there for close onto two decades. Hazel made a very good insight check and ... yeah, twins exist. That woman had been locked up shortly before Hazel’s birth and usurped. Hazel is ... armageddon-level angry.
When almost all of them were back together,Ava all but fell out of one door, unconscious but seemingly unhurt, and they got out as fast as they could, because Remi seemed to hope that Alisaie would recover better out in the sun, all things considered. Jury’s still out on that one.
Hazel said some prayers to send the departed on, and they ended with pouring a drink and seeing if they can’t rouse Ava, so they can all talk about what happened to them, and how it might be best to proceed from that point.
I make no promises about staying up to date. But at least I am up to date now.

BG3 OC Masterlist
Each of these links lead to specific posts for each character, since I have more than exceeds the image limit per post. Below is basic information about each OC.
Tumblr media
❧ Fortunata, a Shadar-Kai Tempest Cleric of Talos and Storm Sorceress
Ancient and timeless, Fortunata has cultivated a reputation as a fearless and tempestuous warrior. Her terrifying visage is notorious even amongst other Shadar-Kai. Devout in her worship of Talos, her temper is as mercurial as a stormy sea--and her tendency to mercy is just as unreliable.
❧ Viggo, a Zariel Tiefling College of Swords Bard
Youthful and vibrant, Viggo's survival of Elturel's relocation to the Nine Hells has done little to slow him down--if anything, it's given him quite the edge. Studying the rapier and applying his bardic skills to good use, Viggo is ready for vengeance against any and all evildoers, and pursues them with gusto.
❧ Vaela, a Wood Elf Circle of the Moon Druid
Once nominated to be Archdruid of the Thicket, a small grove not too far outside Rivington, Vaela now wanders the wilds in search of a means of stopping the Chosen of the Dead Three. Wielding Silvanus's gifts and their own penchant for mercy and kindness, Vaela's impact on the wilderness, underdark, and forsaken Shadowlands has shaken the balance of Faerun, and tipped the scales in favor of cosmic justice.
❧ Duvont, a Human Oath of Devotion Paladin
A philanthropist and volunteer whilst living in Baldur's Gate, Duvont has dedicated the past few years of his life to giving aid to the displaced refugees of Elturel. His steadfast belief in doing well by others has made him a well-regarded figure in his community--and someone others can come to if they need protection.
❧ Gaius, a Mephistopheles Tiefling Archfey Warlock, Pact of the Tome
Wildly intelligent and cunning, Gaius's origins are shrouded in mystery. His only desire seems to be gaining power at any cost, and he is willing to manipulate, lie to, and take advantage of anyone to get it.
❧ [DU] Fie-of-ringing-laughter, a Changeling Assassin Rogue
They don't recall much about their past--just brief snatches of being in dark alleys with even darker people. All they know is they aren't meant for a world of kindness, a world of mercy and goodness. There is no use fighting against fate's hand. (Don't give up hope. There is always a way.)
❧ Noel, a Half-Wood Elf Champion Fighter and Barbarian
The leader of the Broken Blades, a mercenary group in Baldur's Gate, Noel's reputation often precedes him. Wherever he goes in the Gate, Noel is a known quantity by law enforcement, citizens, and interested parties in need of hired muscle. Noel's willingness to knock heads and use his strength belies his intelligence--a fact he uses to his advantage.
❧ Jokul, a Silver Dragonborn Way of the Four Elements Monk
Raised amongst a mismatched clutch of Dragonborn, Jokul followed his lifelong interest in the elements. Over time and with thorough training, he became able to channel his breath into his fists and feet, tapping into his innate elemental power and the Weave to create a synergy between his body and magic. Jokul's temperament is reliably calm even in the worst situations.
❧ Branwen, a Human Battlemaster Fighter and Great Old One Warlock, Pact of the Blade
Branwen scraped her life together on her own after being rejected by her mother and father, taking deals with ancient otherworldly entities and gaining power as she grew. Her scrappiness grew into a knack for survival that infected other lost, unfortunate souls in Baldur's Gate. Now, her gang, often referred to as a cult, runs a significant portion of the underground in Baldur's Gate--though as of late, they have been going out of their way to hunt down and kill those who attack refugees.
❧ Oneiros, a Seldarine Drow Gloomstalker Ranger and Assassin Rogue
Once a firstborn son of a Drow Matriarch, after his attempted coup on his mother failed, and his two younger brothers were slain, Oneiros went on the run, breaching the surface just in time to be abducted. Now, in a world completely unfamiliar to him, Oneiros is trying to discover who he really is before he succumbs to the tadpole.
❧ Gawain, a Gold Dragonborn Oath of Devotion Paladin
Kindness and empathy are Gawain's foremost focuses in life. Raised amongst his mismatched brothers, Gawain has always sought the togetherness his family brought him, that sense of rightness and fullness. Gawain spreads his energy and love to all around him--though his bleeding heart often sets him against bigger and bigger challenges as he places himself between the weak and those who would hurt them.
❧ Romulus, a Black Dragonborn Oathbreaker Paladin
Brutally powerful with a strong sense of justice, Romulus broke his oath when he realized that the only way he would be able to properly protect people was to abandon the very systems which confined morality itself. Breaking his oath and turning his back on his fellow paladins, Romulus now delivers justice with no fear of loss or shame.
❧ Ripley, a Svirfneblin Great Old One Warlock and Assassin Rogue
Ripley was one of many kids in her family in Blingdenstone. She desired to cut her teeth on something more lethal than what work could be offered to her in Blingdenstone, so she headed to the surface, where her diminutive stature and natural distrust of other peoples would serve her well as a mercenary or hired killer. When she was taken aboard the nautiloid, Ripley finally felt a sense of rightness: her ruthless adventure had finally begun.
❧ Leah, a Wood Gnome Nature Cleric of Mielikki
Leah lived most of her life in a small cottage in the woods, where she met with and communicated with unicorns. It was through this contact with the celestials that Leah learned of Mielikki, and swore herself to Mielikki's service. Leah happily follows Mielikki's tenants, and lends her strength and optimism to those in need without a second thought. Leah strives to prove herself strong and useful.
❧ [DU] Cheng Huaijin, a High-Elf Assassin Rogue
Raised by his trio of parents and trained under his Baba to become a tailor, Cheng Huaijin has always struggled with a dark desire--to consume the flesh of living beings. To cope with this struggle, he has turned his ill-begotten talent for bloodletting toward those who had escaped justice; to the liars, the cheats, the rapists, the murderers, and those who hurt others.

D&D Shenanigans
Was drawing my first D&D character and felt like sharing some funny stories from my first campaign.
The first time I played D&D was the beginning of 2023, and let me tell you that was the most fun I ever had that year.
I joined a Library D&D group, which had separated into two smaller groups because it was rather large and there were a few new players like myself. I was apart of a smaller group, usually there were about 4 of us who came on a regular basis. Most of my group already knew each other from outside of the Library, but they welcomed me into their group with open arms, something our DM probably regrets lol.
I played as a Female Rogue Wood Elf named Revan, because I was super into Knights of the Old Republic at the time. Another player, who I became friends with, named their Female Human Rogue Raven. Now, we kinda liked to role play a bit, so Raven and Revan became fast friends and partners in crime. Both of our characters had children, so they bonded over being moms, and both were thieves.
The other player was Female Mage (I forget what specifically) High Elf named Elcerine (Sorry if I butchered the spelling friend). El was pretty much the only character with a brain cell, and basically was the tired mom friend who did most of the work...except for that time she triggered a boss fight in out first session and got my character killed...... I'm not bitter lol. That was a whole thing, but our DM decided to reset the timeline so we're gonna ignore that.
Now, the main thing I want to share is when our party made it to a town that had Vampire problem. The premise is that our group were Vampire Hunters, for varying reasons, and we had to find and kill the two vampires in this town.
You see, if there's one thing you should know its that Raven and Revan were known for being a chaos duo. Raven literally ate cobblestone and purposely threw it up on El, we were below nothing.
We were short on coin, and bored, so we asked if there was any type of talent show or competition going on. Our DM, quite used to if not irritated by our antics, said sure. So Raven entered in the competition while Raven did a little pick-pocketing. I don't remember exactly what we rolled, but each one was between 15-20. Raven one the competition while I stole a good chunk of money, which we then split evenly.
You might think, alright sure, normal D&D story, that's not that wild. Here's where it get fun.
So our party then decided to continue the plot and we split up to do a little stakeout on the Vampires. I was with another player, but I can't remember if it was El or Riordan, a half-elf rogue. Rio didn't come often but when he did he joined in on the antics. So the Vampire I'm hunting makes an appearance and we kill them. I get a note from Raven asking for the Vamps hand, I have no clue as to what she wanted it for, but who am I to say no to my buddy. So I cut it off and put it in my inventory and don't think about it.
We meet up again and go to get the money from the bounty's. Raven then decides to steal the body of the vamp and try to collect the money for herself and I join her. So here we are, two rather short women running across town with a dead body while our teammates are chasing us. El surpasses me in the chase, more focused on Raven, so I did the most logical thing I could think of to slow her down.
I throw the hand I had cut off the Vampire at her, rolled a 19, and bitch-slapped her hard enough to knock her out.
The chase continues for awhile throughout town, the guards are just watching, horrified. El and Rio eventually manage to stop us and knock us out, dragging all three bodies behind them and dumping the Vampire's body with town guards and taking us to the Tavern.
This was sadly the last session we played before our group broke up. Both me and the DM moved to different states, but I'm still in contact with Raven. We draw each others characters and show each other memes that relate to our chaos duo energy.
While this has been the only time I've played, I look forward to finding a new group to have adventures with, even though I'll miss my first group the most. D&D really brings people together, I wish I had been allowed to play it sooner.

@pleasentcalli-gt I shall infodump!!!!!
Techno is a half orc barbarian, who goes on several assigned adventures- several being with a mysterious ranger named Dream, but nobody knows they're race since Dream is constantly wearing a mask and clothes to hide himself (but since Techno has fought by their side so often he's caught glimpses of the coal black skin he keeps hidden, and suspects what they are- but isn't too bothered by it, he's not gonna tell anyone or mention to Dream that he suspects because of how most people see and treat Dream's race)
Dream is a ranger that goes on several adventures, usually with Techno, but he doesn't mind going with others.... But on the most recent adventure his mask breaks revealing that he's a dark elf to everyone, the rest of the party leaves, not trusting a dark elf even if they've seen how good of a person he is- but Techno stays to make sure Dream is alright, and even offers him his home to stay at until he can get another mask
In Techno's home he lives with:
Philza, an aarakocra (or bird person-) sword singer (which is a type of magic user/wizard that has the wand enchantments on swords to do spells while fighting physically), who owns a large cabin in the woods
Wilbur, a half elf bard who's better at playing music then casting musical spells- it's no matter as with his higher charisma, he's amazing at distracting people in squares so his associate can pick pockets easier-
Tommy, a halfling rogue (and the one who helps Wilbur steal from people), who lost his family at a young age before being found by Wilbur and brought to Phil's cabin to be raised.... His family were killed by a party of dark elves, and everyone assumes this is why he's a bit more cold and rude to Dream then he would be to anyone else- but there's more to it then just that (imma write a little thing about this under the cut because I can't get a specific line out of my head-)
"I don't hate you because of what you are, I hate you because of what you did."
Dream took a deep breath as he sat next to the small halfling- well Tommy was tall for his race, but he still only came up to Dream's waist when standing at his full height. The drow had been wanting to ask about this for so long, but he was never alone with Tommy, and anytime he asked with the others around the halfling would always run off and someone would answer for him. So now here Dream was, sitting next to Tommy at the table, both going to have lunch while everyone else was in town. He could do this it was just an easy question right? 'Why do you hate me?' something he'd asked several people before, when he left the Underdark, and there were two answers he knew Tommy could give- one of which was because Dream is a dark elf... But he'd become accustomed to people hating him for his coal black skin, red eyes, and white mane of hair, most surface dwellers hated drow because of the connotations that came with them.
Dream shook those thoughts from his mind as he took another deep breath, watching as Tommy stared down into his bowl of soup, vigorously eating so he wouldn't have to be here with Dream for long. He knew this was why they weren't looking up, and why they were rushing, because Tommy had done it several times before.
"Tommy." The halfling snapped their head up to look at him as he spoke. It startled Dream a bit, the silence that had just been broken, and the small glare the smaller held in their eyes in this empty and still house. Unsettling because they were usually smiling, usually laughing, usually full of life. "Why..." He started to say but hesitated. Why was he scared of the answer? It's nothing new to be hated, so why does it matter? He licked his dark lips before continuing. "Why do you ha- dislike me?" He cringed at his own words, sounding so awkward in his mouth, and all he could do was wait for an answer- an answer he feared, but shouldn't.
"I don't dislike you- I despise you." Tommy answered coldly, and the seriousness of their tone sent a shiver down Dream's spine. What happened to the annoying prankster from an hour ago? "And it's not because of that fucking racist shit if that's what you're worried about." The smaller shrugged, and Dream felt his eyes widen in surprise, a little confused as to what else is could be.
".... What do you mean?" The drow couldn't stop himself from hesitantly asking, but regretted it when Tommy dropped his spoon and looked up with an even more defined glare- but they weren't mad, they were hiding another emotion, Dream could tell by the way their entire body trembled, but he couldn't understand why.
"Do you really want to know?" Dream nodded to their question. He wanted to fix this, he didn't want Tommy to be upset with him if they were his friend's brother.... And he hoped maybe they could be friends too.
"You killed my family." Tommy's words stabbed Dream like a knife, but before he could ask, Tommy continued. "The night they died, we were staying with some elves, mainly for protection since they offered us shelter in their camp. That night however.... Tha- that night... A party of dark elves came... Although I was a fucking kid, I still knee Underdark common at the time, from when mom and dad would do trading with peches"-Dream was familiar with the race of Underdark halflings, but didn't know much of their culture- so he was a bit surprised to know that they had connections with their surface dwelling counterparts-"so when I saw you- you leading this fucking party, I listened from the place mum had hidden me and I heard you give the command- the command to slaughter everyone. To kill even the elven children, and when the adult halflings tried to help you told your men to kill them as well..."
Dream took a moment to process the information... And was sad to realize it was true. He remembered that day. The first day he was put in charge of a surface raid. Back then Dream still only had knowledge from the Underdark, he had been raised and taught that the surface was full of nothing more then people who were evil and mindless creatures... It was back when he worshipped Lolth, a deity that took pride in how she manipulated Drow to believe that she was the only divinity, but her ways were dark and twisted- after living on the surface for so long, Dream knew that now... But back during the raid he hadn't. He knew he gave the commands, the command to have no mercy (as if Drow ever did have mercy when from the Underdark- another reason why he left the reched place) when killing the surface elves... But he couldn't help but to question if it was really his fault. All his life up until then he'd been manipulated, lied to, and taught a specific way of life- he hadn't known any better, and was just trying to please his fellow Drow by acting like the rest of them. He did not take satisfaction in death, he hated watching as children were stabbed... And for what? Because he was too afraid to question his own beliefs at the time? Because he had been doing the same as every Drow before him had done? Yes he gave the command, but was it really his fault if that is what he had been taught to do?
"I remember you smiling at me." Tommy scoffed, pulling him from his thoughts. Dream remembered too- and if he looked at Tommy long enough he could reconize exactly who they were from back then... A small sobbing child, trembling in fear. "You smiled after killing everyone I loved..." Tommy was crying now too, and Dream wanted to comfort them, but knew there was nothing he could do... Back then that smile was meant to be comforting as well- in the Underdark peches (halflings from the Underdark), were seen as nothing more then pets, slaves to Duergar and Drow. He'd assumed it had been the same on the surface, that those halflings were slaves to the surface elves and that he'd done something good in freeing them- which is why he hadn't pointed out to the other Drow where the halfling children were hiding... But now he knew, he understood, and he was sickened with himself for ever thinking that.
"I'm sorry...." Was all Dream could mutter. There wasn't much else he could say. He didn't expect forgiveness, even if he was changed now, even if he'd kill one of his own kin to keep Tommy, and everyone else living in this cabin safe.
"It's too late now." The halfling said coldly while whiping the tears from his face. "So now you know.... I don't hate you because of what you are, I hate you because of what you did."
(the only reason I wrote this is that last line aidhebksishs I just really really really wanted to fucking use it-)
