Crossover minecraft; pirates vs. Cowboys event;
Gregory (cowboy team) practicing crossbow twirling on the porch of the sheriff's office.
Further down the main street of town, tucked between buildings in an alley
Baljeet (pirate team): you do remember that we aren't supposed to start attacking the other team until the second week!
Buford (pirate team): of course, we're just here to pull a little prank to spice up the early game.
Baljeet: you brought a cannon! *gesturing at the cannon that is now being aimed at the sheriff's office* And cannonballs! Not Miss Pinkie pies prank ones either!
Buford: *carefully lining up his shot* I think you aren't really giving credit where it's due... HEY LAWMAN!
*Gregory fumbles his crossbow*
Gregory: gah!-what-
*Buford fires the cannon*
*BOOM*
*Cannonball ricochets off the porch rail, into the support for the awning, and continues to ricochet within the space of the porch*
Gregory: *confused, eyes following the wildly bouncing shot* ...the...?
Baljeet: *slack-jawed*
Buford: wait for it....
*the cannonball ricochets into the floorboards on the opposite end of the porch from Gregory, and the board starts bending*
Gregory:...Hell?
*like a cartoon, the board flings Gregory up halfway through the ceiling of the porch*
Baljeet:...how!?!
Buford: Basic ballistics. Stuff any bully knows.
The fact that I can hear their voices

I had this very strange dream last night, but, being honest, it was one of my best dreams ever.
(Slight spoilers for Nope under the cut)
I was watching Nope for the first time, but this time it was in a movie theater, not at home. It played out normally, still terrifying, perhaps some details and scenes were fucked up because dreams do that, but then the credits roll.
I remember I was crying because of the last scene when they finally kill Jean Jacket and OJ is in the distance, looking back at Em. The screen goes black and it's silent, and then a microphone is tapped and Jupe of all people speaks, short and single name credits start rolling, the screen still black.
Now, I don't remember exactly what he said, so I'm gonna have to romanticize and fill in a few gaps, but he said something along the lines of this:
"Hello? Okay, uh.. Well, welcome to the Star Lasso Experience! Now, the original plan for this show was to show you all a discovery I made, but it kinda disappeared, heh. So, instead of that, I suppose it's about time I try singing again!"
"I assume some of you remember this one scene in Kid Sheriff, where Jupiter sings to distract [typical villain in a western kids show], yeah? Well, that was actually the first time I ever sang in front of a large crowd, even after training for months. I was really scared, but the people loved it, so I thought I should try singing again today. So, without further ado, I dedicate this cover to my gorgeous wife, Amber. I'd dedicate this to my kids and lovely staff, but it's a love song, so.."
Jupe and the crowd chuckle. I started thinking "Weird way to roll credits, but okay, I guess."
The black screen becomes an animation of the view of a sunset from atop a hill, with a view of the Haywoods' house and Jupiter's Claim, the credits are less vague and more specific. Jupe exhales shakily, and starts singing Cannonball by Kiesza throughout the credits.
Such a weird fever dream, I want Steven Yeun to cover Cannonball now, I'd listen to that on loop for YEARS if it existed lmao
This is the song in case anyone's curious:
#nope movie#nope jordan peele#nope 2022#ricky jupe park#steven yeun#literally what was this dream#I want this damn dream burned into a CD or made a VHS tape so I can replay it whenever tf I want#STEVEN YEUN PLEASE CONSIDER COVERING THE SONG PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE#i told my mom abt this shit and she called me obsessed#Spotify

Here is some Hayley Atwell for your post food coma enjoyment. Except for those of you who aren't Americans. Enjoy your two days of work, chumps. That's oddly aggressive and I don't know why, I should be glad other countries are doing stuff cause it meant Hayley Atwell was at a James Bond celebration thing. Always glad to see her, it's wild to me that Bond is 60 years old at this point. I am sort of fascinated by enduring cultural touchstones and what they mean. Like... the Bond Franchise, especially in my youth, was somehow the same plot over and over again but at the same time chased every trend imaginable. We got a Bond with Lasers once Star Wars was a hit, we got a blaxploitation Bond in the 70's as well as a Cannonball Run sheriff in a couple. It's really wild. Anyway, I am not actually sure what Hayley has to do with Bond as I haven't seen one since Skyfall. I meant to, I just... didn't. Maybe it's just the law that as an English celebrity she had to be there. Or it was her turn, who knows. I am glad to see her. Today I want to fuck Hayley Atwell.

Fort Gadsden: The Negro Fort's history buried in the forest | floridarambler.com
I knew I was in trouble when the music blasting through the speakers of my SUV suddenly stopped. ‘No Service,’ something I should have expected from my phone given our location in the middle of nowhere, Florida’s Apalachicola National Forest. An endless array of cypress, oak, slash and longleaf pine line this lonely stretch of State Road 65 — until the police showed up.
The county sheriff’s car, heading in the opposite way from me, was the only other vehicle on the highway. In my rearview mirror, I saw the sheriff’s deputy slow down, turn around, speed up and then hit the lights. Fortunately, the deputy let me off with a warning and directions to the destination I was trying to reach. “Fort Gadsden’s in the next county, about 10 miles,” she said.
My tribulations didn’t end at the county line. I almost blew past the park sign but managed to turn down a dirt road that led to the entrance and seemed to run on forever. Two miles in, and my wife noticed the signs warning hunters to keep their weapons away from residences that we could not see from the road. Panic began to set in and a turn down a second dirt road didn’t ease the anxiety.
Finally, we reached the park entrance, but upon seeing the big ‘Closed’ sign on the shut gate, my wife decided she had had enough. “Let’s go,” she said in a way that shut down any debate.
History was made here
Welcome to perhaps one of Florida’s least accessible historic sites and definitely its most overlooked piece of Black History.
The Fort Gadsden State Historic Site is roughly six miles southwest of Sumatra, a tiny unincorporated community that is a more than an hour’s drive from Tallahassee but about half that distance from Apalachicola and the Gulf Coast. Still, the site’s remote location shouldn’t deter enthusiasts from a visit, much less diminish the site’s significance.
Following skirmishes between American and British forces in west Florida during the War of 1812, the British retreated to an outpost along the Apalachicola River at Prospect Bluff in 1814 and began fortifying it.
In an effort to man the new fort with volunteers, the British offered to purchase slaves from the Creeks and Seminoles living in the territory. The fort soon became a magnet for free Blacks, runaway slaves and Native Americans.
The following year the British abandoned the fort, leaving a heavily armed garrison to its Black inhabitants. Word continued to spread, and more runaways joined the Black and Native Americans already living in and around the fort.
By 1816, the Negro Fort had become an affliction upon a growing number of their southern White plantation owners who feared what an armed garrison of runaway slaves would mean to slavery. Although southerners implored the federal government to consider attacking the fort and ultimately taking the territory of Florida away from Spain, Washington was reluctant to stage an attack that might lead to war.
However, that didn’t stop then Major General Andrew Jackson from directing Brigadier General Edmund Gaines from launching an illegal assault against the outpost.
The deadliest cannonball in American history
The actual Battle of the Negro Fort was brief but brutal. The Black inhabitants had not been trained in the use of the cannon and other heavy munitions and were unable to defend the fort against the invading American forces and their Creek Indian allies.
All it took was one hot cannon shot from an American gunboat to land in the fort’s powder magazine to blow up the garrison and end the battle. About 270 inhabitants were killed and the rest were captured. It was the deadliest cannonball in American history, according to Dale Cox, author of The Fort at Prospect Bluff.
The demolished fort would later be rebuilt by Lieutenant James Gadsden and used as a southern outpost until a malaria outbreak forced Confederate troops to abandon the fort for good. In time, the Apalachicola forest overran the site, and its remains lost to neglect and the pages of history.
Your adventure starts here
What remains of the old Negro Fort/Fort Gadsden site today should appeal to both the history buff and the lover of the open road and the great outdoors.
Apalachicola National Forest offers a long list of recreational activities, including camping, canoeing, hiking, kayaking and swimming. At the Fort Gadsden Historic Site, visitors can take in the long-ago refuge amid the solitude of the surrounding forest.
The site contains historical markings, a picnic area and a hiking trail with interpretative kiosks that explains the story of the two forts. The trail leads visitors to the Apalachicola River and continues to the original fortress and the “Renegade Cemetery,” where many of the fort’s Black inhabitants who died in the battle’s explosion are buried.
From there, it’s less than a 40-minute drive to Apalachicola, a historic yet hip port town along Florida’s Gulf Coast. The community offers everything from nationally recognized restaurants to an array of festivals, historic walking tours and other outdoor activities. It’s the perfect culmination to an excited road trip to a remote piece of Florida history.
The site of the Negro Fort still represents a powerful symbol that once threatened America’s expanding slave society. Men, women and children died fighting to live free.
Unfortunately, the memorial to this bygone refuge is located in such a remote part of Florida that it doesn’t attract the number of visitors who’d appreciate its significance as a testament to an American ideal.
Working in the timeless and enduring medium of oil paints, Jackson Walker creates finely detailed paintings executed in a traditional realist style. Historical and military subjects are faithfully created not only as fine works of art but also as a telling and honest documentation of true events and notable personalities in the mystery and drama of Florida’s dynamic past.
From the early Spanish adventurers to the Florida we know today, the saga of Florida history has been told in many ways. This collection of paintings portrays the incidents and personalities within the 500 years of triumphs and tragedies that have become Florida history.

Beware the Demon Bear! (New Mutants Review)
Hello, welcome to the House of Milesverse
This year, we saw the release of the satire (but actually based on a REAL story) film Cocaine Bear. Naturally, it led to a variety of memes and jokes about the titular character. Funnily enough, this year I also got to read a book about another evil bear.
That's right, folks!
Today? We will be talking about the Demon Bear Saga!
Who are the New Mutants?
The New Mutants was a graphic novel released in September 1982, created by Chris Claremont and Bob McLeod. Eventually in 1983, the New Mutants would gain their own book. The group focused on a young team of mutant students assembled by Charles Xavier.
The original roster was composed of Mirage (Dani Moonster), Karma (Manh Cao Xuan), Wolfsbane (Rahne Sinclair), Cannonball (Sam Guthrie), and Sunspot (Roberto Da Costa). Other members would join the team as well. This includes Cypher (Douglas Ramsey), the extraterrestrial Warlock, and Magik (Illyana Rasputin), who was the younger sister of Colossus.
The New Mutants' started out as a lighthearted story for X-Men fans. The inclusion of the Demon Bear saga kickstarts a serious adventure for the team. Luckily, our grizzly friend provides us with an interesting narrative.
The Bear Necessities for a Story
One character central to Demon Bear's mythology is Danielle Moonstar. She is a young Cheyenne girl with psychic powers. In particular, Dani has the ability to create strong illusions.
Dani believes that the Demon Bear is responsible for her parent's deaths. The large ursine creature wants to kill Dani. He spends a good deal of the saga trying to get to her.
In fact, Dani tries to face the demon bear herself but is wounded. She is sent to the hospital, accompanied by her friends. The other members of the New Mutants try their best to deal with the Demon Bear.
Unfortunately, this is not enough, and it drags them to another dimension. In an unfamiliar environment, the bear temporarily gets the upper hand. In the end, Magik uses her soulsword to defeat the demon bear, reverting it to its original form.
The demon bear's 'original' form was actually Dani's parents. Something had twisted the two into this monster. Dani eventually wakes up and is able to reunite with her parents.
Danielle Moonstar: Our Main Protagonist
There is a lot to say about Danielle Moonstar as a character. Throughout the story, she is distressed about the Demon Bear's arrival. The beast stalks her nightmares, and she is clearly afraid of them.
In spite of that? Dani does her best to try and stop it. She faces off against the Demon Bear alone. Even though she loses, she still tries to kill it.
That quality, facing your fear even if it means certain death, makes her a worthy X-Man.
The Demon Bear is a WORTHY enemy.
I think the Demon Bear on its own presents a pretty scary threat. Can you imagine being in Magik's position? She's being hunted by this bear that wants to maim her. Heck, it goes through the troubles of infiltrating a hospital just to finish the job.
I think the Demon Bear's best feature however is its design. The bear feels so familiar and yet so different. The wonky art style really sells the Demon Bear and how otherworldly it is.
Right here, you see the Demon Bear's abilities. The creature has the ability to corrupt the minds, souls, and bodies of its victims. A police officer and a nurse are unfortunately cursed to become his minions.
It's even weirder afterward because the Demon Bear's defeat does not undo it. Both the sheriff and the nurse are permanently transformed into Native Americans.
As I mentioned before, it has the power to transport others into another dimension. It sent the New Mutants to the Badlands where it could do battle. That was also where it utilized it's minions.
Let's face it, Magik's kind of badass.
As I said, Magik is the younger sister of Piotr Rasputin, aka Colossus. She's a member of the New Mutants, one of the primary magic aids of the X-Men, and the occasional Queen of Limbo. Magik strikes fear in the hearts of her enemies with her vicious soulsword, a manifestation of her mystical powers.
Ultimately, Magik comes in handy against the similarly-mystical Demon Bear. She manages to undo the Demon Bear's twisted transformation, stopping the creature's rampage. It's awesome to see how Magik's able to help the team in the story.
Fun fact, but did you know that in an alternate universe, she would succeed Doctor Strange as Sorcerer Supreme? She even gets the cloak. Even now, she works as a teacher for the Strange Academy.
Conclusion: The New Mutants kind of rule?
The Demon Bear Saga actually made an X-fan of me. Of course, long before I read this, I at least liked some of the members. However, now I just want to sink my teeth into other well-written X-Men stories.
Honestly, I love the vibe of stories that mix superheroes and horror. It combines two of my favorite genres. In fact, this saga has the perfect blend between the two. While it may read as a horror movie in certain parts, it still presents the dynamic superhero action we've come to enjoy.
Overall, I hope you enjoyed House of Milesverse! I'll be back again with another X-Ceptional, Astonishing, and Uncanny discussion!

My Favored Mustaches
Existing day gentleman seems to become to embrace a easy cheek attained by a Gillette razor even so the situation have lots of with the mustaches prolonged prolonged gone? I have witnessed adult grownup males with beards, people which have stubble, some will sport a goatee, many others could check out muttonchops or even a van dyke but what transpired inside the mustache? There exists certainly quite minimal even more stunning when compared with typical male rocking a complete, thick, bushy mustache. These are generally usually my key 5 ideal actors who display screen display screen an astonishingly furry upper lip. Visit our website and learn more about mustache styles.
five. Dabney Coleman I've in no way witnessed him with no mustache; I'm genuinely sure that he was born with just one. Chances are you'll have noticed Dabney Coleman's mustache in 9 to five with Dolly Parton, Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda. It reappeared when co starring with Tom Hanks throughout the Gentleman by utilizing a solitary Purple Shoe and yrs later on when reuniting with Hanks in You might have Mail. My to begin with come upon along with his whiskery lip was in Cloak and Dagger, in which Dabney and his mustache execute two roles in just the movie. The 1st is Colonel Osbourne, the quite absent father of crucial character Davey (E.T.'s Henry Thomas), as well as in addition a further as Davey's imaginary buddy, super-spy Jack Flack. The plot calls for the murder of the federal agent, a online video clip recreation (the world the movie receives its determine), and Davey's relationship alongside one another together with his imaginary hero/real-life father. The particular star, even though, could be the mustache- Coleman incorporates a attempted and legit look and that i'm happy that he has saved it for as a result plenty of a long time.

As you can tell I hate drawing backgrounds. But I love drawing cuties.
I like to think Cannonball, when not chasing for Buddy, is actually a pretty nice and chill guy to hang out with. So Hoisenberry is super excited because he's enjoying his food~

featuring;
Buddy Thunderstruck as Venom Snake, Darnell as D-Dog, Sheriff Cannonball as D-Horse, Deputy Hoisenberry as the cutest mascot ever
So @arte-hideous introduced me to the wonderful new series on Netflix, Buddy Thunderstruck! Needless to say, I was rather inspired by these cute and quirky dorks. If you’re wondering why I made a crossover like this, you can thank him for it too. His horse jumped off a cliff and I retorted “the sheriff had enough of your thunderstruck” in response. The idea was too good to pass so have some fan art! Tried a limited 6-colour palette and wow I really love how it turned out~
Have an amazing day, -R
