I have a question about Miku and her gear by the end of XV if that's ok to ask. In XV we learn shenshoujin was reduced to fragments and merged with a faust robe. But in XDU Miku's gear looks like the OG gear so I'm confused, did they actually repair the gear instead? Also in XV Miku says she wants to fight alongside everyone and we see her pop in some XDU events but in the 2022 concert Ms Iguchi stated her role was more to be the normal girl rather than a fighter and that she's essentially extremely weak. So is she like, a part-time user only post XV/in the canon XDU timeline? Or is she following training with the gang and going on missions full time
Okay, so when Maria and Chris originally went to the parallel world with the other Hibiki, they found out she was being killed by the Gungnir fusion the same way Hibiki was in G
Since it was used to save Hibiki in their own world, they asked about Shenshoujing there and apparently Section 2 was in possession of it instead of the FIS. The pendant was lying around in storage since it was damaged in experiments and they couldn't find anyone who could use it anyway, so they handed it over
They brought it back to their world for Elfnein to repair and after it was fixed, it was given to Miku
On paper, SONG had her registered as a temporary wielder, but later she begged to help and they gave in. I don't...remember if they ever updated the paperwork to make her full time or if they even bothered mentioning it, it's been a while since then 😅
For real world context, at the time Miku was made playable in 2017, XDU was only post-GX and AXZ hadn't finished airing yet, so they basically made an excuse to reuse the Gear design from the anime as her base form instead of making something new
Though they did at least bring in Dan Yoshii to design her X-Drive for that event
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
XDU's story has been post-XV since mid-2020 so Miku should have the Faust Robe as an option. It's just never really been brought up in events the same way other things from XV like Amalgam or Shem-Ha have been, though, and I don't really know why
Especially since she has to use LiNKER for the Gear
A few cards of her Faust Robe do exist but they've always been released separately from any events

Hibiki has been fighting Miku with her Gungnir against Miku's Symphogear. First, Hibiki fought Miku when the FIS revive the Frontier and Miku used the Shenshoujin. Hibiki saved Miku and the Shenshoujin saved both their lives through its light.
The second time when Miku became Shem-ha's vessel and Fudo Kazanari took advantage of it having the Faust Robe of Shenshoujin on Miku, Hibiki fought Shem-ha to save Miku.

This is gonna be a series of questions. First, the pendants. Have they been repaired yet? If not, what's the timeframe on their repair? Similarly, does this now mean that when they are repaired, the Shenshoujin will be available for Miku and she will be joining you on missions? Is it being rebuilt more into a Faust Robe or a Symphogear?
Hibiki: They are fixed and are ready for use.
Miku: I will be joining the others on missions but so far we haven’t gotten any.

Shem Ha bracelet-thingy was on a round platform next to Miku, and Vanessa put tiny fragments all around it. On her monitor, she had the Shenshoujin mirror (the whole design), so we can assume the fragments around Shem Ha were remnants from the Shenshoujin relic. If you look closely during Miku's henshin, the same design appears, followed by the background turning into a mirror and the Shenshoujin wavelength

Symphogear G Episodes 09-13
Tumblr media
In the distance, that day, when the stars became music.
Here we are! Last string of this season. I’m honestly surprised by how my thoughts about this season changed doing this rewatch, I wonder how much it’ll still change based in these last 5 episodes. Regardless of everything I’m glad, is good to know we changed. XD
We have a lot to go through so let’s go.
Tumblr media
Episode 9 is a pretty good one. For starters, we get some answers to the questions I had on my mind from the last, so I’m very grateful for that. We also have great emotional moments with most of the cast so bonus points for that.
I especially like Chirs in this episode, from she having dinner with Tsubasa, to she being relatable character ever in that training sequence, to her moment with Hibiki when she shows her affection for her in both a harsh and lovable way. She shone in this episode like no one else and I love it.
The FIS girls also don’t get behind, in this episode it feels like each one of them is broken and divided by their personal feelings and their sense of duty while we as an audience can see that this is just Ver playing with them like puppets and it made me feel so sorry for them, I just wanna give them a hug.
There’s just one thing that I didn’t like here and it was the fact that they discovered everything about Miku way too fast. I think if we had more time to “grief” over her that moment in the end when she shows up in the Shenshoujin would be more impactful both as a plot twist and as a cliffhanger, and also more emotional to both the viewers and characters. But even with this detail I really like this episode.
Tumblr media
Episode 10 is another great one, probably my favorite of this season.
Miku’s song is great, Shenshoujin is dope and the way it works is fantastic. Miku fighting Chirs is pretty fun, that moment Tsubasa steps in to help protect Chirs and Shirabe is just amazing, and seeing Ogawa run on top of the water just makes the whole situation even cooler.
Kirika’s side of things is probably the worst of them all. Since she didn’t tell anyone she suspects being Finé every time she mentions disappearing sounds empty because the other characters haven’t a single clue about what she’s talking, but if you put that aside it works.
But by far the best of this episode is Hibiki and Miku’s confrontment. That short conversation before they start fighting is probably one of the most honest and heartfelt conversations we had. Their battle is simple but the emotions on that combat were just so high that they didn’t need a lot to make that work. It’s probably my favorite Hibiki x Miku moment in the whole series, I just like how in here they seem to be in an equal foot with each other, there isn’t someone whos trying too much or trying too little, they both want the best for their friend and they both have the resolve to stand by their beliefs (even though Miku got a little brainwashed there) and do what they think is the correct thing to do, is truly an amazing moment.
In summary, the fights are all good, the emotional conflicts all work and the emotional climaxes work out as well. We can see the struggles of each character and how each of them has big burdens laying around their shoulders. It is a great episode.
It’d have been even better if the final scene was just Hibiki and Miku being hit by that beam, but still, it’s a very solid episode.
Tumblr media
Episode 11 starts very weirdly, I even had to double check to make sure I was watching the right episode because of how confusing it was.
I think they've missed a scene that would serve to connect the events from the last episode to this one because everything looks very off. For starters the whole thing with Chris joining the bad guys and then all of sudden they got Miku in an infirmary bed, and while I can fill the blanks and say to myself that Chirs is plotting to destroy the Staff of Solomon and I can assume that they caught Hibiki and Miku while they were falling after being hit by the beam, I still wish that had been shown or at least been mentioned in the episode.
But after this convoluted start the episode picks itself up and it gets good, is not best and I didn’t get anything interesting to talk about but it was still good.
I said I don’t like the Finé’s successor plot, and I still don’t. But seeing glimpses of Finé taking over Shirabe in this episode was really good, I like that moment when Genjuuro is handing Shirabe’s pendant and they talk like if it Ryoko was there and not Shirabe. It's very subtle and it works very well, that was something I didn’t really pay attention to while watching for the first time. That aside though, Kirika’s whole speech, because she thinks she’s the one just, makes me tired.
One last thing that I want to mention: Ver is a disgusting character and I just wanna see him die. Like, congratulations to the writers of this show for making such a hatable villain. Gosh, this man grinds my gears. ANYWAYS...
Tumblr media
I think Episode 12 is the one I have fewer things to comment on. Not because I didn’t like it, but because almost everything that happened here was just the culmination of some events that happened in episode 11.
Maria’s side of things was probably the saddest one, seeing her sing trying to reach out to other people and not getting a single reaction was heartbreaking.
Kirika and Shirabe battle get to end and I think I’d care more for it if I wasn’t so done with Kirika at this point. But seeing Shirabe being saved by Finé was actually pretty cool.
Tsubasa and Chris fight, on the other hand, was pretty good and it gives my favorite moment of this episode when Chris calls Tsubasa as “senpai”. It’s just so good to see how they’ve grown to like each other and see how good they work together. This is such a great friendship I love them. Also, they made Ver run away like a scared cat and took the Staff of Solomon back making him frustrated as hell so I’m happy.
Tumblr media
Sadly my happiness went away for a little bit. Yeah, I... don’t like this finale.
They have some things that work if we look at them separately but when you put them together it feels like there’s something still missing.
Like, Maria getting in the Airgetlám for the first time is cool, I remember freaking out when the six of them got in their X-Drive and I had a similar reaction this time as well, Shirabe going full megazord mode was awesome, and I also like when Genjuuro slaps Ver in the face by saying that he won’t kill him and he’ll have to go to a trial like a normal human being instead of becoming a martyr or a hero.
But this episode loses to me because the final battle isn’t against a person, isn’t against someone who they can talk to and understand each other like in the last season, and yeah you can argue that they have chosen to do things this way to represent the Moon Ruins being activated again and that the Curse of Balal is already showing signs of being reinsured, but this doesn’t take away the fact that it made the finale lose its magic.
At the end of season one, I was heartworm and happy like I’d seen something unique with a nice message, this time the message is still there (and thank God that is, it shows they didn’t lose the essence) but because so many other things were treated with more importance if felt just like an ending any other show could pull it off in the same way.
I still love symphogear to death, but I think this season has dropped a few ranks in my favorites list.
Tumblr media
And we reach the halfway point of this journey! I know I’ve said this before but I can’t believe I’m managing to keep up with all of this. Thank you for keeping up with me, and sorry if I thrash talked way too much. I usually go for 4-4-5 blocks but since tomorrow is Sunday I’ll try to go for 5 episodes instead of just 4, I don’t know if it’ll work out since there’s precure stuff I need to do but regardless of that I still wanna try. See ya~

Mmmm tell us abt kanade maria and sword in the au. Is shirabe-fine still a thing? Also how would shenshoujin miku fit in this au?
kanade was bitten and turned into a werewolf by pureblood werewolves when her family was attacked and killed. between the trauma of that and the changes to her nature that followed, she spent a long time EXTREMELY emotionally volatile and self loathing
SONG being more of a group oriented towards these sorts of problems, genjuro still takes her in and tries to rehabilitate her along with edge her out of her reckless, revenge-driven attitude
most of that change comes from tsubasa, however, who has lived with genjuro since she was very young.
she’s somewhere between harpy and angel, with wings that span from her back but feathers that cover portions of her body, scale plating over the tops of her hands and feet, talon-like nails, and a song almost hypnoticly ethereal
nobody knows quite why something like her happened, but it’s assumed to be the kazanari’s deep connection to holy spirits and creatures. she was essencially to be the manifestation of that, a clan leader “directly connect to the heavens”, but the attitude it inspired was unhealthy enough for genjuro to think it best to remove her from the situation.
as confidential of a topic as her existence is, there isn’t much her parents could do to stop that decision coming from a top secret government organization ydig
im not about kanade dying because fuck that so her attack on hibiki during the full moon ends with her brutally injuring herself in a moment of lucidity trying to spare the girl, something that sends her into severe shock and a prolonged coma
maria is the result of trying to create a creature like that artificially, a manmade demihuman, and she was considered pretty much the “trophy” of the project. mostly because she was one of the few that 1. survived 2. had any level of notable compatibility to the changes to her DNA. her transformations come easier than kanade and hibikis and she could be held to the standard of a “superior” breed or werewolf
serena was put under the same experiments but was unable to deal with the physical strain it put on her. the results of that are.... predictable, and the reason maria leaves with shirabe and kirika
shirabes connection to fine is more closely attributed to the fact that her magic comes from similar sources so they essencially draw from the same well, so to speak. fine’s carelessness and haughtiness causes her powers to start corroding her mind, and the same could be said for shirabe if she pushes herself too far for too long.
miku’s gear would probably translate to another magical artifact of the same flavor, one that magnifies her horrible feelings about hibikis situation and eats away at her sense of reason until there’s a physical confrontation in which she tries to “cure” hibiki with something that would.... probably kill her. not in her right mind, of course, and not with that intention, but moreso due to the fact that someone else planted the seeds of something nasty and corrupted in her heart
this is something miku feels painfully horrible about for a long time after, especially seeing as she was one of the only people to not reject hibiki after the accident and it leaves her terrified that hibiki will start to think she’s held her in nothing but hate or disgust when, really, the disconnect between shenshoujin!miku (for lack of better terms) and regular miku is enough that it feels like a crime committed by someone else in her own body

Since both Hibiki and Miku has been freed from the Original Sin in the Symphogear G as they were struck by the light of the Shenshoujin, Hibiki has been consumed by the divine power. Adam Weishupt was in awe unable to believe that the divine power choose Hibiki as its vessel and Saint Germain stated that it is impossible for someone born with the Original Sin to harbor the divine power.

Hey, Miku, psst, possible date idea with Bikky if you can get permission for it, since I don't know whether you girls are allowed to use your gears for recreation/convenience: take her flying with the Shenshoujin. Imagine it! Just you, her, and the great big sky...
Miku: While that is a wonderful idea, we aren’t allowed to use the relics like that.

What We Want Out Of The New Symphogear Season
SPOILER WARNING: This article discusses major plot points from the end of Symphogear AXZ, which is currently being added to the service, and episode 2 of Symphogear XV.
It's been a long time since I've been this hyped for the new season of an anime, but that post-credit sequence from the last series has me really excited for the possibilities that may await us in Symphogear XV. But while a more prominent role for Miku has been at the top of my wish list for a while, it isn't the only thing I'm hoping to see! So, to make myself look silly when none of this happens, here's what I'd like to see in Symphogear XV!
  1. The Return of Miku Kohinata
Hibiki and Miku's relationship is unlike any other in the series, and the way it affects both sides of our punchy protagonist's double life is a testament to the bond they share. Miku is undeniably Hibiki's rock; her lasting connection to a normal life, and the one person who can keep her grounded even in a crazy world of magic relics and Illuminati alchemists. I've loved moments both where they're enjoying the bliss of civilian life, and times where those worlds collide - leaving Miku caught in the middle and Hibiki at her most vulnerable, which may be happening soon on an unprecedented scale!
I've been giddy with excitement since the end of Symphogear AXZ, when Genjuro realized that Elfnein's theory about Hibiki and the Shenshoujin could mean that Miku can also harness divine power. If the Bavarian Illuminati remnants wish to continue Adam Weishaupt's mission, then poor Miku may be in for a rough time. At least this could mean a much bigger part than her already popular role in Symphogear G.
2. Boss Man Throwing His Weight Around
Most people know Symphogear for the girl who punched through a mountain and suplexed a space shuttle, but there was a time when Hibiki wouldn't have even been able to punch a fly. That strength had to be taught by someone, and that someone is Commander Genjuro Kazanari.
Remember how he held his own against, and even gut-punched, Finé? Or when he slapped around the entire cast like they were nothing during a training session, even catching Chris' missiles with his bare hands? He may not have a Symphogear, but a love of martial arts movies has turned Genjuro into a dude that you don't wanna mess with. So I wonder why he rarely goes out on the front-lines himself? Maybe he just likes getting others to do his work, or wants to give his enemies a fair chance? Whatever his reasons, as unlikely as it may be, I'd love to see this "normal" human unleash all his natural muscles on an alchemist!
  3. Whatever It Takes
If Symphogear XV's second episode didn't set a harrowing tone for things to come, then I don't know what will. Millaarc made her villainous presence known in a big way, single-handedly delivering S.O.N.G.'s biggest loss to date. To make things worse, the shocking display echoed the franchise's very first episode, but with one key difference: the Climax Song.
Had Kanade not sacrificed her life that day, or if Tsubasa had sung that fateful tune, how different would the characters' lives be? Thoughts like that will surely plague poor Tsubasa in the weeks to come, and may inspire the Symphogear wielders to do whatever it takes (as the Avengers say) to avoid a repeat.
While they're no strangers to singing Climax Songs themselves, the prices paid have yet to be as permanent. While I absolutely adore her, I found Kirika invoking hers to protect Hibiki in Symphogear AXZ to be one of the series' most emotional moments, complete with poignant last words as she lost consciousness. However, a LiNKER overdose saved her life. I mean, I'm glad she survived, but at the same time, it was such an emotional moment, y'know?
I'm not calling for an Akame ga Kill-esque headcount, but perhaps the growing threat of the Bavarian Illuminati and the God-like Custodians may prompt one of our beloved favorites to remind us why Climax Songs are such a feared last resort? Maybe the series' final scene could even call back to the franchise's very first...
  4. Behind Kirika's Smile
It's a good thing Kirika did survive, though. If there's one thing I want just as much as Miku drama tearing my heart out, it's to finally learn the backstory of Symphogear's cheerful little buttercup, Kirika Akatsuki.
While we know the origins of many characters, the pole-dancing princess remains such a joy-filled enigma (She doesn't even know her real birthday!) Like her partner Shirabe, Kirika was an orphan kidnapped by F.I.S. in the hopes of her one day containing Finé's soul, but that's about as far back as her known history goes. Some fans believe character songs suggest she's survived starvation or bombings, but little has been revealed so far.
It took us until Symphogear AXZ to learn a bit of Shirabe's past, and with public awareness of Kirika at an all-time high thanks to animator Yoshiyuki Okubo's fantastic transformation sequence, hopefully there's still time for the meat-loving girl to stand in the spotlight! So let's see if any of this happens in Symphogear XV, now streaming on Crunchyroll!
How about you? Let us know what you’d like to see from Symphogear XV in the comments! New episodes are available weekly, as part of Crunchyroll’s Summer 2019 season!
