reading all this great dbd fanfiction, i would love to read a full novel about them.
not just printed fics but like an official book, either prequel or sequel to the show or anything, really.
i love this universe and these characters and their dynamics so fucking much and i would be thrilled to see their story written with physical words on paper that i could hold and imagine expressions and places to.
like their universe and stories hold so much potential that i, personally, could really imagine reading.

nice paper!!! have you ordered any other cool stationery recently, or is there anything that's catching your eye? i have a whiteboard book, notebooks, and paper coming in soon!
yay paper! i did just recently get a new natsumehandmade book cover for my sketchbook (midori a6) to match the one i already had for my journal (stalogy365 a6) and im super happy with it!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
these are my favourite book covers as they're cheaper and roomier than hobonichi book covers while being just as pretty! they also have a TON of pattern options on every shop listing!! if i was the type id buy like a bunch more, but having any that sit around empty waiting for a turn or just hold an old book to go on a shelf feels too sad to me. these things are precious and gotta see use! it took me so long to choose which pattern i wanted both times cus of that XD
the stickers on my journal cover are all from i_spy_cy ^u^

If you're like me and like Funko Pops, you've probably run into the same problem as me: your collection amasses itself quickly, and suddenly you've spent an arm and a leg on collectibles and now you've gotta spend another arm and a leg on some kind of shelf for them because they're taking over all your bookshelves and your shelf is covered with Funkos no one will see because you had to layer them tp fit them all in there and there's three stacks of books on your desk so you can't use your desk so your laptop sits on the table and that means that your table can't be used for eating at so all your dishes end up in the living room...
If you relate to The Funko Problem, I need to show you guys my new Funko storage solution, because I have 19 funko pops and managed to get them all on the wall, without damaging the boxes, without needing any special tools other than an optional hammer, for less than a dollar total.
Tumblr media
It may be hard to see in this picture, but I just put a thumbtack (📌) in the wall directly above each boxed Funko Pop. It might take a few tries to get it into the right place, but you just need to be sure they fit snuggly without bending the box. They can either lightly press on top of the box, or, if you can get the tack to go all the way into the wall (a hammer is helpful!) you can slide the cardboard of the back of the box between the tack and the wall, just underneath the metal pin of the tack. For these ones, I was able to tuck them snugly in between the tacks and that moulding/chair rail thing.
Tumblr media
For these ones that I wanted a bit higher on my wall, where there isn't a moulding to rest on, I put two tacks underneath each one and one tack on top, and it worked just as well.
Tumblr media
I had a few pops whose boxes were missing or that I purchased second-hand without the box. For these, I either placed them on top of a set of boxes on the wall, or placed them in a Pop protector box one of them was shipped in (obviously I'm not a for-profit collector, so I think putting a box in a box is not worth my time.)
Tumblr media
This method also works for storing funko minis, which are great for filling up tiny spaces!
And there you go! Just buy yourself a box of tacks or dig them out of your junk drawer, and you've got floating storage for your Funkos!

#dwedit#rd edit#river song edit#eleventh doctor#river song#doctor who#is it great? no. does it make sense? no. not really.I just wanted to make it#because this quote kind of makes me go feral#because imagine river. a ghost. trying to get a closure from a man who supposedly loved her#but it seems to have forgotten all about her. put her on a shelf life a book that wasn't even that great and engaging#and so she haunts him. first trying to get a reaction and realising that he can't hear or see her#and so then she talks. about their adventures. about her love. how she misses him. how she's always missed him#she'd tell him about her solo advenures#how much fun she used to have and she'd tell him how many times she stole his TARDIS and he didn't even notice#and she'd make fun of him piloting the TARDIS ('hundreds of years and you still can't do that. you really did get that flying licence in a p#and during these rare times when he slept she'd read or tale him fairytales. because why not? what does she have to lose?#and yet. he heard her all the time. every single time.#but he never talked to her. why would he? to do that he'd have to acknowledge that he'd lost her for good. just like her parents. just like#and river - she was supposed to be different. a touchstone. someone who would be able to keep up with him. stay with him. they would always#and yet. he was left all alone. his wife gone. a ghost of her was all he could have. he should set her free but he was a selfish man. so he#is it too much? or not enough?#idk they just make me go feral tbqh. what can I say I want me faves to suffer :)#mine#long post#otp: the towers sang and you cried

Umberto Eco, who owned 50,000 books, had this to say about home libraries:
"It is foolish to think that you have to read all the books you buy, as it is foolish to criticize those who buy more books than they will ever be able to read. It would be like saying that you should use all the cutlery or glasses or screwdrivers or drill bits you bought before buying new ones.
"There are things in life that we need to always have plenty of supplies, even if we will only use a small portion.
"If, for example, we consider books as medicine, we understand that it is good to have many at home rather than a few: when you want to feel better, then you go to the 'medicine closet' and choose a book. Not a random one, but the right book for that moment. That's why you should always have a nutrition choice!
"Those who buy only one book, read only that one and then get rid of it. They simply apply the consumer mentality to books, that is, they consider them a consumer product, a good. Those who love books know that a book is anything but a commodity."

In the wake of the IA situation, I've seen a lot more posts circulating about using your local library and I just. Sigh
#i dont know whether these people are thinking of Big City libraries#or their local is the most well stocked most accommodating library known to man#but my library consists of mostly kids books and ww2 skinned romance lites and james patterson thrillers#if youre lucky theres some pop history books on the tiny shelf in the back#oh also the opening times? 0930 to 1700 of course. yknow. when most ppl are at work :)#oh except sunday. when were just closed ;)#trying to get the library to bring in a specific book? sorry that'll be nine months and we'll send it to the library#in booksbury-upon-tyne which will cost you a £30 round train ticket (if the trains are running ;)) and a three hour journey#(cause were swr and life is a fucking nightmare)#im not doing that for a book im not even sure will be relevant to what im looking for yknow#i guess what im saying is that while i love the concept of libraries#they havent really evolved with the times. theyve been what theyve been for a millenia#and the intellectual value they were built to provide hasnt kept up with the funds theyre actually allocated#now i will say these are kinda complaints specific to me cause im not the biggest fiction reader#and if i am theyre mainly classics so my gripe is more with the proviso of non fiction books#and the variety of them which is incredibly narrow#and i dont drive so the intersection of this with the hellscape that is south englands public transport network also sucks dick and balls#like i realise the library provides a lot of necessary resources for older people and kids and those without internet access etc.#but that does leave a large swathe of people with little to no reason or time to visit the library yknow.#i dont blame the library workers of course but i also dont think its the visitors (customers?) fault#that there isnt a great incentive for them to visit#especially since i have found most of my fave nonfiction books in second hand stores#which would have either cost £80 new or would have been locked ina university library out of reach of the common folk#whatever. ramble ramble yada yada. ev complains again whats new

Just for fun, my favourite Redcloak names I've come up with for A Revised History of Erdas and the Bile-bonded spirit animals of each character:
Adamant (bat-eared fox) Cunning (silver fox) Daring (hyena) Formidable (polar bear) Grim (badger) Ruthless Valiant (liger) Blight (poison dart frog) Pounce (cougar) Prowl (grizzly bear; this is the boy with the bear mask in The Burning Tide) Swift (impala) Teeth (caiman) Storm (grizzly bear).
Redcloak names are so much fun. It's equally as fun to match a name to an animal. I have a little under a hundred in my name bank right now, as well as genders, nationalities and ranks for each, so whenever the plot calls for a new Redcloak to come in, I can simply choose one. I call it the Hypothetical Redcloak List because only a small portion of those will be used in my writing, and even fewer will be actual characters of substance with speaking roles. Some even on this list may not make it in, which is a real shame because they're fire.
