hey what DO you watch on youtube? seems like you'd have some neat recommendations :3

i really loathe the like super-highly edited sound effect post-mrbeast slop most of youtube is now so i mostly like stuff that's like... calm and sedate. stuff i've been watching lately in no particular order:

northernlion vods and clips. he's an OG. i especially like his react court series, i must have watched all of them like five times.

speaking of OGs i've been watching zero puncutation (now fully ramblomatic) for like ten years and if anything it's only gotten better. best game review content on the internet. been really enjoying his more recent, slightly longer and more thoughtful 'extra punctuation/semi-ramblomatic' series too.

any austin's skyrim unemployment rate videos. instant classics to me, it's just a guy going around in skyrim trying to figure out the unemployment rate in every town. it's a very dry kind of humour, he plays it admirably straight, and it's weirdly calming.

kitten arcader's foot the bill videos. in a kind of similar vein, he watches the saw movies and then produces an itemized bill for everything jigsaw needed to buy to make his traps. it's kind of like... if cinemasins was fundamentally curious instead of fundamentally incurious, it scratches a similar sort of nitpicky detail-oriented quantifying itch but without inimical to the concept of art.

shuffle up and play. it's a magic the gathering play series that has enough editing that the gamestate is actually legible but not enough editing (or at least, not enough obtrusive in-your-face editing) that its annoying. i also like that they reguilarly play non-edh formats like cube and pauper.

spice8rack. i'm pretty picky about video essays but spice8rack has very obviously actually read books and has interesting things to say about the topics it discusses (mostly magic: the gathering). sometimes it has a kind of grating Theater Kid Energy but the fact that it actually meaningfully structures essays and analysis to earn the silly long runtimes is a rare delight from a video essayist.

jenny nicholson is a long-time favourite and another permanent fixture in my rotation. she's just extremely, remarkably funny which makes her the only 'basically just summarizing a thing' youtuber i think is worth the time of day.

i watch some sketch comedy, mainly wizards with guns and aunty donna, who both consistently put out really funny stuff that's kind of ITYSL-adjacent in its barefaced absurdism and contenmpt for concepts like "stopping a joke at the logical punchline". i also really like alasdair beckett-king and binging the old clickhole backlog for short-form comedy on youtube.

wolfeyvgc is right on the edge of the level of editing i find tolerable but as a long-time fan of multiple esports he Has It, he's absolutelyt fantastic at t elling the narrative of a tournament, explaining plays clearly, and generally making competitive pokemon esports thrilling and interesting ti someone (me) who#s never played it and doesn't care about pkoemon that much

i religously watch every elliespectacular/dathings YTP, the absolute best in the game right now, top tier snetence mixing and really good at actually setting up and paying off jokes in a way it feels like a lot of ytp doesn't. verytallbart is also pretty good.

trapperdapper is a channel i recently binged, it's a really fucking funny parody of minecraft challenge content that veers slowly from obvious angles of parody into pure absurdism with tons of blink-and-you'll miss it subtle visual gags.

too much future is a great youtube series where the two guys from just king things/homestuck made this world play through every fallout game and analyze them in that context. extremely funny and also just top-tier very sharp analysis. really good

another one of the rare good video essayists is jan misali. they're really funny and will go into topics that kind of seem narrow or strange to begin with in such depth and make them so interesting that it's consistently astonishing.

oh and finally sarah z makes pretty good videos. 'the narcissist scare' is an absolutely brilliant deconstruction of one of the most annoying pop-psych phenomena of the last couple years. and remarkably well script supervised i think did anyone else watch it and think 'wow the script supervisor on this must have been, a mind geniuse'

The Prince and the Spy

This episode was simply amazing I loved the way Serenity and Constantine's relationship was written Even I don't think I could write them that accurately Your description of the scenes and the writing of the dialogues are excellent. Also the description in the episode was very nice. And  Serenity's interpretation of the overlord meeting from her perspective, where she expressed her opinions about Alastor and how she found it strange that his act had changed so much, was also very well written.And I was really glad that we got a little glimpse of Hürrem.In one word it was great

YIPPE MORE HÜRREM AAAA!!!!

Hurrem's dialogues are really fun to read.I've already warmed up to his personality.Hürrem has self-confidence and wants to achieve the glory that lies before her.Even though she is a little nervous on this path, she is someone who does not let herself be crushed and chooses her words well in a conversation.

I really liked the writing of the dialogues.And my god, you really write and describe Constantine wonderfully, every move and every speech is written wonderfully, it's just perfect!!He has an extremely calm demeanor, speaks with care and never tries to crush Hürrem, he shows her kindness and respect.

The part where Hurrem wanders around hell looking for the meeting point was nice, and her little dialogue with Gio already gives a nice preview of their dynamic!

It's really fun to read about Gio and Hurrem's relationship, they have a really great dynamic.I really liked the jokes in between, it makes the reader warm up to the characters quickly.its like A spin-off series like Helluva Boss , although the main series is more story-oriented, here we get to know Hell much better thanks to the characters.Seriously great write up

And I think that the duties of the two are well explained in the chapter and Hurrem's situation as Goetia is also well touched upon.You captured that serious and playful vibe perfectly.And I really liked Gio's inner thoughts too.In general, the way you wrote him is great. The Judy and Nick vibe between Hurrem is very nice!!

Before battle

The scene at the beginning of the episode where Alator was hallucinating was really nice. I think it added a great air of mystery to the episode, and as always, it was great to read Alastor's inner thoughts.I find the details you put in your dream really clever. It's nice to see such small details for both the future of the story and Alastor's own story.

I really like the way you portray Charlie, her interactions with Alastor are so beautiful to read.And I liked that she talked about the hotel's condition, so we can learn what the hotel is currently like.

The detail of Alastor not liking Precious really made me laugh.

Alastor's interpretation of Charlie's movements was really nice, and the dialogue that Charlie talked about caught my attention.

‘’I can understand that! she laughed heartily. I made mistakes for a long time and a lot of people don't want to see me again either’’

Charlie??

YAAY the part where Alastor remembered Serenity's memory was so cute!!

Alastor's advice to Charlie was also great!

The part where Alastor discusses his strategy with himself and thinks about his enemies and allies was really good.

I can't wait to see Charlie's reaction to him after this little massacre he's about to commit.

IS IT AN EPISODE FROM LOLICAN'S MEMORY??? WHAT IS HAPPENING???There were too many details, too many descriptions in that memory section?? That part was really well written.Who and what is coming for her!???

There are so many questions, I can't wait for this scene to be illuminated in the future!

First of all, it was great to read Alastor and Lolicia's conversation and planning as always. You really write their relationship wonderfully. 

And is Vittorio okay?? Please don't let anything happen to the little guy, there's no need to cause emotional damage to Lolica like this….

Chapter 77 Fairy Ointment

It was really nice to get to know Lysander in this episode, I liked the parts about his childhood or the little fairy ointment story. And again, it was great to learn about Lysander's personality traits, his likes and dislikes, and to see his perspective on hell.The episode had a slightly mysterious and really nice atmosphere, the descriptions were good as always, I can picture all the scenes.

Chapter 78 nettle breeze

The action scenes in the episode are very clever, even though Lys is the weak than the two in the book he know How to use forest for himself, and I think it's very nice that poison and mushrooms come to the fore in the war.I really think the war scenes are  well described, it's really fun to read.The internal dialogues between Lolicia and Alastor as they interpret the events are also really nice.And despite Alastor killing sinners, they’re resurrected again and again.And the mushroom effect on them reminds me of Last of Us

 I Imagine the sinners turning into more mushroom zombies every time they die.It was a really good episode, action-wise.

OMG WHAT IS HAPPENING???????First of all, I am amazed by the general culture you have with each episode. I did not know that nettle had such an important place in Scandinavian mythology.And everything is so detailed, from the type of tree Leiv died on to the meaning of the braids he knitted for fishing. Just wow I seriously learn new things in every episode thanks to you.

And DRAMA AND PAIN I NEVER THOUGHT THAT LEIV AND LOLICA WERE HUSBAND AND WIFE WHAT????

And the scene where Lolicia finally recognizes Leiv and reveals her identity was so beautiful and the way s Leiv shed tears was SO BEAUTIFUL

I really liked the dialogues Lolicia used there 'You called yourself my guardian  but you died before me’

And for God's sake how did Leiv make enemies that they impaled him on a tree with a sword????

Also in the previous episodes Lolica was being chased by someone, what's going on?And why did they both go to hell, what did they do?

Overall, I really liked the emotional atmosphere of the episode. I think you did a great job of introducing the connection between Leiv and Lolicia.Seriously lolicia's confrontation with Leiv was so sweet

chapter 81 The bear,Gold &heir saga 

YAAAY YOUNG  LEIV AND LOLICA 

This episode's atmosphere was very nice, it reminded me of old folklore animations.The animations and storytelling are made by the studio that made Wolfwalkers.

I really warmed up to Leiv as a character. Even though he made the people under him work like slaves, his interactions with Lolicia were really fun to read. It was sweet to see Leiv get embarrassed or excited in front of her. 

AND this episode left me with a lot of questions about Lolica having the Snow White passive 

And ‘'and the girl with the amber eyes and golden halo’’

Facts like the color of Lolicia's hair, the fact that animals don't attack her, and the fact that she came all the way from New Orleans without a boat make the event really interesting.

So was Lolica an Saint l before and then she fell? Or was she in New Orleans when she died or was she never human?What's going on right now?

The song between Lolicia and Leiv was really beautifully written lyrically, I really liked the song

And it makes a lot more sense why Leiv referred to Lolicia as an angel.

Seriously, I have so many questions in my mind and thanks to your writing style , I look at every detail again and everything can be related to the story.

The episode was great for both getting to know Leiv better and learning more about Lolicia!!

Chapter 83 The calving of glaciers

THIS EPISODE WAS SO AWESOME

I love everything about this episode so much

First of all, I've said this a few times, but I love the way you write Charlie,  she stands her ground and also worries about her friends and tries to protect those around her.But she also knows that she can show her power to take control of the situation if she wants to.

Charlie talking to Husk about Angel was really nice, I really liked the dialogue between them.And I love The way you write Husk, as the depressed old but wise bartender, even though he's had too much to drink, sometimes he gives the best advice.

The scene where Charlie notices the water on the ground and tries to call Vaggie but her voice doesn't come out was really nice.

And Constantine's warning to Charlie was really very logical, as a reader I said, okay, something must be going very wrong.

And I think the warning system is really creative and logical!

I really liked the confrontation between Charlie and Alastor. Charlie not giving in or retreating despite Alastor's objections really suited her character.

In general, I liked the episode very much. The descriptions are good, it is a preparation for the other episodes, the general atmosphere of tension and mystery is very good.

Episode 84 The Calving of Glaciers

HOW CAN YOU INCREASE THE QUALITY SO MUCH IN EVERY EP?

I don't know where to begin praising this episode.

Lolicia's reactions to the events were SO good Fitzroy's betrayal was really effective in the story, and Lolicia being cornered for Vittorio  really increased the tension in the story.

I really loved the dialogue between Fitzroy and Lolica, there was great tension and I really wondered what Lolicia's next move would be.

VITTORIO DID NOT DESERVE THIS. HE WAS ONLY PROTECTING HIS FRIEND. DISHONORABLE FITZROY I HOPE LOLICA BEAT HIS ASS

Also, the scene where Fitzroy throws Vittorio's severed arm in front of Lolicia is very impressive.Also Fitzroy's purpose in entering the Maze actually made sense and Lolicia remembered Serenity's words where it was really nice.

LOLICIA'S DEVIL FORM????? A VERY HIGH-QUALITY ACTION IS COMING, BABY!!!!

Every stage Lolicia goes to her demon form is so cool, you described it perfectly

And I really love how you added Precious to Charlie's scenes, it's a nice reminder that she's there too.

It was nice that Alastor laughed and rejected the question 'who am I to manipulate her’

And Constantine gives another warning message

YEEEY FLASHBACK I think Alastor made the mistake of his life by going after Lolicia, but we'll see.

I can understand Alastor's questions, why is Lolicia so powerful if she's not doing the things the Overlords do to gain power?

AWWW Alastor remembers him trying to comfort Serenity because of her fear of the dark.

The scene where Lolicia appears from the darkness is so cool!

The indifference and ego that Alastor showed before he was defeated by Lolica was really funny I mean, with all this arrogance, it's a great chance not to lose to anyone today, you know what they say, radio demon, arrogance and pride are the things that blind a person the most.

Did he grab her chin? Alastor seriously where is the gentlemanliness in war? Tch tch tch

Okay, I loved Lolicia's cold and professional attitude in this war, it was very cool.It was also very good that she said 'you are too weak' to him specially when she had all the cards.

The poetic words that Lolicia said were really beautiful, I thought they were all very meaningful.

The last 3 warnings Lolicia gave to Alastor were really cool. In general, I really liked Lolicia's attitude in the episode. It was very fun to read.

She acts very noble and mysterious and You are very good at describing the environment and characters.

Then, the part where Alastor walks around injured and questions his actions and mistakes is really good.Then, in the part where Zestial comes to Alastor and gives a speech,It's always nice to read Alastor and Zestial's dialogues.And at the end of the episode it was nice to finally have an alastor who had suffered losses and probably learned from his mistakes.Because if he hides that ego, he won't be able to stay there for a long time.

In general, I really liked everything in this episode, the character dialogues, Lolicia's writing, Alastor's writing, the events, everything.

Wash my Troubles Away

Baths were always the way Tav chose to unwind after a stressful day. Before the nautiloid, and after, although she’d been seriously lacking in access. In all honesty, she was surprised it took this long for her to break down. Months on the road, toiling through endless swaths of blood, shit and tears with the onus on them to solve everyone’s problems. At first, Tav enjoyed helping, seeing new friends suffer a little bit less in such a difficult society. Once they reached Rivington, however, her patience ran drier than a dead fountain. 

Thankfully, they found the Elfsong, where a private bathroom awaited. As soon as the fee was paid, Tav thought about taking a bath—craved it. A space to calm her muscles and cry out her troubles without drawing attention. 

Hot water flowed against her naked back, bubbling with lavender oil and sudsy soap, emanating the scent of vanilla and oat. Tav tucked her legs to her chest, curling into a ball of frustration and embarrassment as she couldn’t stop crying. Tav needed more resilience than this. Facing the end of the world required stalwart bravery, and she was having a meltdown over finding gold for a bank manager. How in the hells was she supposed to take down a giant brain? 

Meanwhile, everyone else had no problem being selfish. A toy maker set explosives in his own products, totally willing to kill children to save his own skin. Idiots tying up Volo just because he was talking about the things they wanted to ignore. Ironhand gnomes masking abusive bigotry with a shining cause. Tav was tired of everyone’s bullshit, making excuses for themselves, taking zero responsibility when she had no other option but to face problems head on. 

Her self pity was interrupted by a knock at the bathroom door. The sound of a lilted, erudite voice coming through the wood: 

“Mind if I come in, love?” 

Gale appeared in the doorway after Tav agreed he could enter. Holding fresh towels and a wicker basket of different bath products, looking brand new as if he’d just returned from an apothecary. Tav splashed water in her face to mask the puffiness of her eyes, as if her detail oriented wizard would ever let a thing like that get past him. 

“You seem like you could use some company. And so far, I’ve been very skilled and…calming you down, so to speak. I fetched some products from Bonecloak’s, all your favourite scents. Jasmine, pomegranate, aloe vera. If you’d prefer to be alone, know you won’t offend me. I just wanted to give you these so you know someone is thinking about you,” he said. 

Tav turned her head, grinning as best she could, easier because of his presence. Since their romance had begun, he was the only one virtually incapable of annoying her. He always knew what to say, always understood the right words or actions to keep her grounded. No one had been such a positive force in her life, and every morning, no matter how terrible, she thanked the stars for finding that unstable portal. 

“I’m not enviable company at the moment, but yours, would surely heal my weary heart,” Tav replied. 

Gale smiled, “No matter how you’re feeling, there is no one in the realms I’d rather spend my time with.” 

Times like this were when Tav didn’t believe she deserved his sweetness. Doting on her out of an adoration she couldn’t figure out. He placed the bottles on a tiny stool beside the tub, undressing so he could join her in a warm, sudsy water, snapping his fingers with a little magic to heat it back to ideal temperature. He made use of the large, circular space as he sunk in behind her, enveloping her in a comforting embrace as she rested her back onto his chest. Little hairs tickled her skin, causing her to chuckle for the first time all day. 

Careful movements of his fingertips massaging her scalp sent shivers down Tav’s spine. Scents of pomegranate and jasmine soothed her sinuses, letting the hot water pour down her head, through strands of clean hair. Tension from her muscles seemed to dissolve with each considerate touch, Gale’s hands created to caress her skin. When he finished, he wrapped his arms around her, rocking her back and forth as they both watched the window ahead. A clear night gifted them glimmering stars, a cool breeze whistling out of a crack in the insulation. Tav leaned back, resting her head in the crux of Gale’s shoulder as she closed her eyes. A few, stray tears fell from her eyes, overwhelmed by the sudden comfort of her magical lover lifting her through the ache of evening. 

Gale didn’t press her for reasons, didn’t rush to solve the problem when he noticed her tears. He just held her, waited in solidarity until she was ready, happy to let her sink into his life force to refresh her own. 

“I’m sorry,” she finally said with a tearful chuckle, “You must think I’m ridiculous. Crying for no reason like this.” 

“Well, my love, your mind may be telling you that there is no reason, but that doesn’t mean it’s true. With all our travels, all the weight on your shoulders, you have every reason to cry. You’re more resilient than you think, I’d have crumbled long ago,” he said. 

Tav looked up at him, in utter admiration for his thoughtfulness, his beauty, everything. If she could, she’d sing his praises for a thousand years, to make up for all the times Mystra never did. Or anyone else who didn’t care to see the magnificence of him. 

Her fingers traced up his collarbone, around the mark the orb left that paved a path to his wonderful neck. A forced tattoo sunk into the surface of his skin, binding him to his well intentioned folly. Their foreheads touched as Gale lowered his head, wishing desperately that he could hold every

 part of her at the same time. Mage hands and mirror images weren’t enough, it had to be him. 

“Can I tell you something I’ve never told anyone before?” He asked, words hanging on between their breaths, lips hovering over each other but never quite meeting. 

“Hmm, you’ve already told me about Mystra. And that you haven't spoken to anyone in over a year until me. Oh, and that you get excited when you see me bloody after a fight. What else could there possibly be?” She asked, flirtatiously smiling at him with her eyelids batting just the way he liked. The smirk he made when he saw it was irresistible. 

Gale chuckled, “This one is far less serious, but might be what you need to hear in this moment.” 

They adjusted slightly, Gale sitting up as he pulled his arm out of the water. Just above his elbow was a superficial scar, raised tissue blending in with the rest of his skin. An uneven line travelling up his arm, about three inches long. Wherever he got it from, it had to be years ago. 

“People don’t notice this scar much anymore, not with the giant black circle on my chest. But people used to. I’d tell them it was from a kitchen knife,” he said, “But…really I accidentally set fire to my neighbour’s rose bushes when I was a child. I was trying to conjure, and the fire got away from me. Singed my arm in the process.” 

Tav turned, scooching further onto his lap as she examined his arm. She couldn’t help but laugh, “That’s your secret? Ruining a bush?” 

“Not just any bush. A rose bush. One of the most beautiful I’d ever seen. I’d pass by those roses every day, stare at them for a minute or two. Just to see something be so effortlessly perfect in its imperfection. They simply grew that way, and then I destroyed them. All I could do was cry, sob over how I tarnished something so innocent and pretty for my own sake. I don’t talk about it because…well, it’s silly, but it’s the worst thing I’ve ever felt. It’s stayed with me my entire life, and the burn scar only serves as a beacon for it,” he explained. 

“Even worse than what happened with Mystra?” She asked, grazing her fingertips across the uneven line of the scar. Eyes stuck to the mark as if it was the last thing she’d ever see. 

Gale hesitated, taking a heart wrenching pause. Tav noticed his eyes staring ahead, fixated on the window. A heavy, unsaid energy hung over him.  

“It was the catalyst. For everything. Had I not set fire to that bush, Elminster never would’ve found me. And then I’d never have attracted Mystra’s attention. A boring existence…but maybe a better one,” he said, voice trailing along the waves of his melancholic thoughts. 

Instead of responding, giving him a treatise on how he didn’t need to feel guilty anymore and burning a flower bush wasn’t a definer of his total character, she pressed her lips against the burn scar. Counting her kisses for every year of remorse he felt since setting that fire ball. Ever since their first night together, he slowly began to shed that overconfident veneer, more comfortable to show her the parts of him that hurt, the deep cuts that both of them wished they could bury.

Ranking all the Brontë novels + briefly reviewing The Professor

I finally finished The Professor by Charlotte Brontë, which means I HAVE COMPLETED ALL THE BRONTË NOVELS, which means I can now rank them. This is a rough order, but brief explanations will be given...

As an aside, bc I don't want to make a separate post for my review of The Professor, but I did note several strong similarities to Jane Eyre (the female lead's description, her elvish comparisons) and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall (Hunsden/Huntington as the cynic, although the former is mostly good and the latter mostly bad). Really all the Brontë novels are very similar so there are tons of more common themes I could mention but won't. Also, more references to Scottish besties Walter Scott & Lord Byron!

Now for my official Brontë Book Ranking (which may be subject to change over the years...)

7. Shirley - I would like to revisit this one. There are some great gems in it, and I'm fascinated by the Luddism subject matter. It is also a strong contender for the most feminist Brontë novel and has probably the most in-depth female relationships which does count for something. But it's SO UNNECESSARILY LONG! And often boring! And it took me the longest to finish. So it has to be last.

6. The Professor - this one benefits from not being Shirley. It's also a good attempt at a first novel I think. It has some gems, but it's often boring like Shirley is in my opinion. I thought the main male, Crimsworth, was a bit more exciting to follow than any of the men in Shirley. I actually think Crimsworth is a pretty inspiring figure and I enjoyed his observations and his anti-work rhetoric. Like most Brontë protagonists, he's a teacher who experiences classism, poverty, and oppression, and manages to overcome these things through frugality, faith, love, hope, etc.

5. Agnes Grey - it's hard to get through at times but it's generally worth it and has a strong pay off. I think Anne's writing style is generally enjoyable. It's has a lot of the horror of Wuthering Heights and the lighter parts of Jane Eyre but it lacks Charlotte and Emily's stronger passions and has more of Anne's calm reasoning, faith, and stoicism. That makes it sound more boring than it really is maybe. I also think it's fascinating for being largely semi-autobiographical like Charlotte's works can be. We get to "know" Anne more than we do in Tenant I feel, and I think she's pretty admirable. The bird scene was based on a real experience she had as a governess, and she wrote most of the novel as a rebellious act in her room right after work. All teachers and childcare workers – and really all women and members of the working-class – should take this novel as the cautionary tale it was written to be.

4. Villette - this is the weirdest Brontë novel. Some interesting scenes and characters. Charlotte's last novel shows far more writerly evolution than in Shirley where she was again trying for more progressive social commentary (and mostly succeeded I think) but often fell back into the more sedate or conventional nature that parts of The Professor has (saving Crimsworth's sometimes strong, sassy, rebellious attitude). Villette was written in a strange period of grief for Charlotte and it shows. Villette is basically Jane Eyre's weirder older sister.

3 and 2 are almost tied for me. I have also written about 3, 2, and 1 so much on my blog that I probably won't go into as much detail as I have with the others.

3. The Tenant of Wildfell Hall - shockingly underrated. Hard to get through, but so is Wuthering Heights which it's pretty similar to at times. Radically progressive and daring, it is a strong contender for being the most feminist Brontë novel and the most oriented toward social justice (although they really all are). Brilliant use of mystery and gothic allure with a social realism that was too ahead of its time to fall into the common traps of that genre. Has everything you could want in a Brontë novel.

2. Wuthering Heights - a bomb in your face. Full of passion. Grand drama. What can I say? It's infamous for valid reasons. Never a boring moment, which instantly pushes it to the top of the list for me who am easily bored. I have elaborated on this work very often on my page so I don't feel the need to reiterate everything here but I will say that this novel has basically everything you could want.

1. Jane Eyre - has all the gothic mystery and passion of Wuthering Heights but focuses on fewer characters whose arcs thus feel more personable and fulfilling in my opinion. We get to know Jane and Rochester much more fully than almost any of the other Brontë characters I feel. And it is my love for the characters that really makes this one my favorite Brontë novel as well as one of my favorite tales of all time (whereas Heights is notorious for its unlikeable characters which actually repel many readers from enjoying it). No wonder it's the most adapted and tied with Wuthering Heights for being the most famous (although I think it may have surpassed Wuthering Heights in pop culture at times). I also think there are a lot of really meaningful themes, morals, and subjects that are explored in this novel, which again can be said of all Brontë novels, but it all feels so much more full in this one. The plot itself is also the most well-crafted in my opinion, and it has one of the greatest twists in all of literature/media imo.

Teddy + willow personality headcannon plzzz 🙏🙏🙏

teddy:

teddy has a loud personality. very sweet, very kind, but loud and dramatic. every feeling she has is big, but that's not always bad. like when she's happy, it's that kind of happiness that radiates and makes you happy. she's forever making your bad days better with her little sunshiney personality.

she's fearless in a sweet (but terrifying) way. like carmen "i would rather die than have human interactions esp with strangers" berzatto walking with teddy through a grocery store??? she's speaking to every single person. carmen is like omfg please no but she just loves to talk, isn't scared either. really isn't scared of much. everything she does, she just does it without much thought or care about it or esp too much worry. carmen is like who's kid is this lmao...

which leads me to my next point. she's got a lot of mikey traits. richie says it a few times, "that kid is alllll mikey right there", but really when teddy gets older. it's very clear to carmen. maybe it's bc of the age difference between him and mikey, he didn't really know or remember his brother as a young kid. really only has memories of mikey when he was a pre-teen and older. he starts to see it and it scares the ever loving shit out of him. she's loud, and fearless, and bold, and a little sneaky and rebellious. she's got a million friends it feels like, and can just get a long with anyone and everyone.

willow:

willow is the polar opposite of teddy at first glance. i mean, it makes sense she'd be calmer and quieter- you weren't sure what a kid with more energy and personality that teddy would be like. willow was always a freakily calm baby and child. like just the definition of unbothered. she didn't cry much at all as a baby, really just content.

willow is a lot like carmen. she likes things a certain way. doesn't argue much with teddy, but will over rules. always has that way. she's quick to tell teddy "those aren't the rules" or "teddy, you can't put those together, that's not in the recipe" when they're playing in their little play kitchen. she's detail oriented that way, but she also never misses any detail. the BEST gift giver bc she notices and remembers everything- just like carmen.

she's not overly quiet or shy, though she doesn't go out of her way to necessarily talk to people like teddy does. she will talk, and will go do the things she wants to, but isn't like dying for social interaction if that makes sense? like not insecure or shy or anything, just content with her circle even if it's small, and fine being alone too. she'll play by herself when she's little, but if teddy wants to join her, that's great too kinda vibe.

teddy really enjoys cooking, with sydney the most. she likes learning- finds it fascinating. she likes learning about how if you mix this with this you'll get this, and all the different things that go together.

This post is going to be a very brief overview of this year's April Fools Day event. I'll only be looking at content that has been posted on the official social media accounts for now, which isn't much but it's what I can access at the moment. Home screen translations from @/pjsekai_eng on Twitter were also used. Next year I'll do a much more detailed analysis because things like Area Conversations will be more readily available.

Summary

For April Fools Day, a new school called MIKUdemy has appeared in Shibuya, which all the characters in the game, including Kanade and the main Virtual Singer(s) for each unit, have been invited to attend for a year. The school's headmaster is Mikudayo. A new song called Be The MUSIC! was released, featuring all 26 main characters.

The characters were all placed into classes of six or seven students. These classes were as follows:

Pure Heart Class

Students: Ichika, Shizuku, Toya, Emu, Kanade, Miku (N25)

Pure Heart Class, a heartwarming and peaceful space ♪

A comfortable class with a calm and fluffy atmosphere. Do other classes worry for them because "There's no Tsukkomi!"...?

Other info:

Ichika feels a bit embarrassed about being called “pure”. She also finds being in the same class as older students to be strange.

Shizuku feels that N25!Miku is like a little sister, and keeps checking in on her.

Since Shizuku and Toya both like reading, the former asks the latter for recommendations. Toya tells Shizuku about Where’s Wally.

Toya thinks that he might be able to compete in the school’s ball game competition if he takes part in the (alcohol free) Dizzy Bat game.

Emu arranged an anime screening for everyone. She also wants to try playing a conch since the school has one in the music room.

Kanade wonders about how everyone is able to handle going to school in daylight. She also wants to talk to Toya about music composition.

Solid Heart Class

Students: Shiho, Airi, Akito, Nene, Ena, KAITO (WxS)

Pragmatic and stoic! That's Solid Heart Class!

This is a class of pupils who are calm and objective. For some reason, they seem to care about the Pure Heart Class students...

Other info:

Shiho understands why Ena and Akito aren’t fond of being in the same class and she is glad she didn’t end up in a class with Shizuku. She likes her class because it has a lot of stoic and independent students.

Airi is worried about Shizuku’s class because they don’t have anyone to play the role of tsukkomi.

Akito is annoyed that he is in the same class as his sister, partially because you can’t tell who’s being spoken to when their last names are used. He thinks Toya’s class must be nice but admits it doesn’t suit him.

Nene is a bit nervous about being in the same class as upperclassmen. She also mentions that Akito and Ena fight like children.

Ena says that WxS!KAITO makes her uncomfortable because he is so much nicer than N25!KAITO. She also worries about being able to wake up in the morning, and decides to let Akito wake her up in the worst case scenario. Airi tells her to not do that.

Passion Heart Class

Students: Saki, Minori, An, Rui, Mizuki, Rin (MMJ), Len (VBS)

When you have an idea, act on it immediately! This is Passion Heart Class!

This class is full of action-oriented students! When walking by the classroom, please watch out for flying drones and energetic students.

Other info:

Saki thinks the named classes make the school seem fancier. She says that at Mikudemy, you can find “something special”, and she wonders what it might be.

Minori wants to invite Rin and Mizuki to attend the Idol History class with her. She also decides to complete in the school’s dizzy bat competition to get better at variety show activities.

An thinks the lessons at Mikudemy are really fun and she thinks she wouldn’t mind studying for exams. She is going to compete against Haruka and Mafuyu in basketball for the ball sports competition.

Rui says he never thought he’d see the day he felt comfortable at school. He quickly befriends VBS!Len because of his similarities to WxS!Len. Mizuki mentions that he’s unexpectedly a good big brother-figure.

Mizuki wins some discount coupons for an ice-cream shop and invites Saki and An to go with them to buy some.

Cautious Heart Class

Students: Honami, Haruka, Kohane, Tsukasa, Mafuyu, Luka (L/n), MEIKO (VBS)

Thoughtful yet firm! They're Cautious Heart Class!

The pupils in this class have outstanding leadership skills. Their warm compassion towards others is remarkable.

Honami plans on making the most of her year at the school by studying hard. Tsukasa thinks she would be good on the kick rounders team, but she’s not so sure.

Haruka wants to try out dizzy bat at the upcoming ball sports competition.

Kohane says that having someone as mature as MEIKO in her class makes her shy.

Tsukasa thinks being invited to Mikudemy is a sign of destiny. He invites Mafuyu to have lunch with the rest of the class, and she thinks he’s really loud.

Pokemon Horizons Episode 58 Review - The Kingambit At Anything Eatery

Did you know that the events of this episode was foreshadowed way back in Episode 21? There was a scene where Friede mentioned that he once went to a restaurant and had his appetite spoiled because of a marital spat he heard in the kitchen. This episode had one of the restaurant owners, Nandi, mention that “the adventurer guy” hasn’t stopped by their restaurant recently and the owners are a couple who argue constantly. There’s only one character I know that looks as if he’s dressed to go on an adventure and that’s Friede. I like how they added in continuity from a very obscure piece of dialogue, which shows how detail oriented Horizons can be.

This episode is actually really good development for Dot! She’s usually so shy and awkward around people, but she’s actually being assertive and talkative here! She gives constructive criticism on how the couple should serve the food in the restaurant and even uses the opportunity to lure in people using her Quaxly, where it be from him acting cute or using him for a Pokemon battle against Sidian. I do like that Dot even does worry about butting in and being intrusive for the business but Mokichi doesn’t seem to mind the help. Her experience with live-streaming helped with constructive feedback!

I like how Medali being a gourmet hub in-game is carried over to the anime! A lot of restaurants are shown and even Treasure Eatery is mentioned! Because of there being so many restaurants, competition is high. That was why Anything Eatery was getting very little customers to the point that they resorted to ruining their signature udon with so many unnecessary toppings. It shows how competition can change a business.

I think Kingambit was very funny in this episode. It just wants to help out in the restaurant and make udon but it’s terrible with customer service. It’s pretty much a parody of the ‘looks like a scary guy, but is actually very sweet’ trope seen in anime! While making udon is its specialty, I do think it was a wasted opportunity for the episode to not focus on making people learn that Kingambit is a huge softie underneath its scary appearance, but since the episode is about a restaurant, taste is king.

Also, I do like how it’s not Coral, but Sidian with a food-related struggle this time around. Coral has been seen throwing tantrums over sweets while Sidian does seem as if he gets a little irritated when famished. He’s usually calm and composed, so for him to misunderstand a simple bump on the legs as a challenge felt a little out of character, but it still feels understandable because people do the craziest things when they’re hungry. Larry showing up at the end was a nice little detail. Nandy said that other than the adventurer guy not showing up, they also have a bone-tired salaryman coming by every now and then. Larry is a tired as heck salaryman, so the description fits. He seemed to enjoy how simple the noodles are and even said that simple is best, referencing his preference for the Normal type. As someone trying to keep myself safe in case things go to worse shit. I've had a constant panic attack all day, every time I see someone going into details about the things happening, and I'm still in the middle of one.

What is the best information to keep off our pages to help with keeping ourselves safe?

Obviously names and personal information, but I struggle with knowing other incriminating things could be used against me, is there anything else(in specifics preferably, I struggle if things aren't outright stated.) that we should try to keep off our pages?

First of all, calm down. Focus on your breathing when you're panicking. And stop doomscrolling. It's not helping.

This day and age seems to have blurred the lines between online and real life in a lot of ways, but one major way seems to be the social aspect of things. For a lot of us, this is the only real socialization we get, so it could make us feel a little more comfortable sharing things as though we were interacting in real life.

This is a double-edged sword.

While it frees some people to behave like absolute assholes, it can also let others feel like they're 'safe' if they list anything and everything about themselves in an attempt to be liked. How else are you going to make friends, right?

But the truth is, the screen hides everyone's true motives, and you have no idea if that '16 year old from Scranton' you're chatting with is really a teenager, an 8 year old goofing off, or a 56 year old man trying to groom you.

Ergo, the less you reveal about yourself online the better.

Real names and locations are obviously a no-no, but there are a other deets that should be omitted from any profiles. I said in a different post somewhere that you should look at it like blurting out this information in real life. Would you stand in the middle of Times Square and yell out your personal information? No? Then don't put it online unsolicited.

Do not advertise:

Your real name, age, location (obvs)

Your sexual orientation (bi/gay/queer/whathaveyou)

Your gender identification (pronouns are fine, but getting into more details as far as AFAB or similar, or your trans status could attract unwanted attention)

Your mental illnesses/diagnoses/disorders

Obligatory disclaimer that I am in no way telling you to be ashamed or embarrassed by any of these things. Be proud of yourself and who you are! Just think about what is pertinent information for anyone who just met you. Or people just passing by your various blogs/accounts. Obviously, this is just a guide and my own personal thoughts, based on the fact that I'm an older Gen Xer who had it drilled into her head way back when dinosaurs roamed and the screech of dialup was the calling card of the internet that you never ever ever put anything identifiable online, or else "The Creeps" would find you.

This all depends on what site you're on, too, I suppose. If you belong to a message board (do they even have those anymore?) or website or discord server dealing specifically with your particular mental issues or whatever, then sure, reveal it as a way to find support.

But, generally speaking, there's information that people might need to know--what pronouns you prefer, for example--and things they don't need to know unless you are more comfortable revealing that information. And if you're comfortable putting that stuff out there, knock yourself out.

I've seen some examples on this very site where people try to bully others into revealing their gender or sexual orientation or whether they're trans or whatever and it just . . . what business is it of yours? If the details of whatever's in my pants, or who I'm attracted to is going to change the way you interact with me, then maybe I don't want to interact with you in the first place. Mind your business.

Anyway, if you're worried about becoming a target or suffering any flack regarding the way the country is headed (I assume you're in the US), then remove all but the barest info about yourself. Username and pronouns are helpful, but you don't have to list anything else after that. General location (United States, England, wherever) may be helpful for general regional differences, but honestly, it's completely up to you.

since it was a japan-only mobile game, you might not be very familiar with before crisis. I barely know anything about it myself, but deneh is a female member of nanaki's species in it. I wonder if she'll be mentioned in the third remake game at all. at the very least, there's a a small easter egg in rebirth: one of the paintings in cosmo canyon shows a young nanaki next to a similarly-aged member of his species, who I assume is meant to be deneh.

it's not exactly fitting given what the ability does, but I gave her rivalry because to my understanding she initially looks down on nanaki for being a coward.

I gave her the eject button because she escapes when nanaki is taken by shinra.

since I think there's barely any information at all on her given that she barely has an appearance in the entire series, fire blast and hyper voice are just generic moves. yawn is because she was apparently put into some kind of stasis or something after nanaki was captured (I guess to retroactively explain why she wasn't in ffvii). taunt is again because she thought of nanaki as a coward

the rocky helmet is not all that interesting in itself, but it's a good item for defensively oriented pokemon. nanaki is defensively oriented in rebirth as well.

moonlight is for the moon theme. reflect is another defensively-oriented piece of the set.

spite is a bit of a weird one, but limited moon does more damage the higher nanaki's current mp. spite reduce the pp of an enemy's move and I figured that was related enough

after a disturbing day at work I went to pick up a free mirror in the city. when I got it, I tried to think of an alternative to going home, with nothing coming to mind until I hesitatingly stopped in front of a cafe right around the corner of the house door. I've always wanted to visit and was always held back by the fact of it being too close to where I live. this time it instead became a factor of comfort, so I went in, ordered coffee and food, then asked if I could give advice on the plants by the window, both of which were dying. the guy was happy to listen and asked me about his houseplant too, wondering about its recent yellow leaves. after a bit of chitchat I sat down to read. It felt really calm for a while, the little nook I was sitting in felt like an unlocked seat at a newly found, long movie about to begin. I felt weirdly at home although the place is much whiter and cleaner than I usually feel comfortable in. With a bittersweet smile came to me the thought of both the place and me being a white washed version of an oriental idea. Soon the food was ready and I ate the best falafel I've had in my entire life, for what this life's judgment is worth anyway.

Shortly after a middle aged, kindfaced woman entered and in a very familial way asked the worker how he's doing, repeating the question for the cook who now came to the front to greet her as well. They chatted a bit, then she sat down with her cup of coffee and now saw me. The smile she gave to me almost instantly made me cry.

I quickly smiled back as warmly as I could and lost the ability to read for the moment, so I picked up my diary to write about these feelings. The pages were filled quickly and I couldn't stop looking at this woman who had touched this mother-longing spot of my being with just her warm smile, so I started doing a sketch of her. I think at one point she noticed that I had started watching her, with me awkwardly smiling each time she caught my eye. So I focused on detailing the sketch for a bit so she could get a break, thinking that I'd go up to her to apologise and offer her the sketch as soon as I was done. When I looked up again, she was already gone. Because I was wearing headphones to block out the street noises I hadn't noticed.

Again, I felt like I could cry. The sketch took the same dark turn all of my drawings have been taking lately. I then forced down the rest of the food and coffee, packed my things and brought the plates over.

At the counter I was asked routinely, but with a seemingly extra touch of warmth, if I enjoyed the food, for which I affirmatively thanked both a lot. I then asked if they would want to use the mirror, as I could see it beautifully on the wall next to the nook I had sat in. They only agreed when I said I got it for free anyway, and we agreed I'd return soon to either see the result or take it with me.

I paid, and I was gifted a pistachio cookie.

Another day that with tiny little wonders and reminders of longing kept me from following up on wanting to leave this world so intensely.

Tomohisa Yamashita (Actor)....Personality

- He's very talkative and forthcoming with information. His energy is quite straightforward and blunt, like he gets to the point and when reading on a person, I'm quite thankful of the straightforward ones. Like, I don't have to literally pull teeth to get his energy to respond. His energy is already quite responsive and that may reflect into how he truly is.

- I will say he's hyperactive and energetic. Someone with a lot of pent up energy and may not know what to do with it at times

- He's quite a lonely man, a bit introverted as well. A homebody type that may have anxiety about leaving his safe space or even coming out of his comfort zone. I definitely think he yearns for company or just someone he can talk to and confide in. He may not have a lot of trust in others.

- He's truly an hyper man, like he almost has too much energy that its overwhelming at times. But, he means well and just likes to have fun and do him. He has a cute, innocent charm to him that most people may not expect from him. He looks like a mature even strict older man but he really is just a excitable boy at heart that likes to try new things. He may be the type to still enjoy sorta "childish" things (like still sleeping with teddy bears or eating the equivalent of Japanese kid snacks)

- He has a lot of passion for doing what he loves ( that can be acting or performing either way he has great love in his heart for these things). Not only that, he's a lover of women (aka a ladies man) and it doesn't have to mean sexually, he plainly just likes having the attention of the opposite sex.

- I will say he's self centered and inconsiderate. He really can be ignorant of how his actions can affect others, because thinking about anybody but himself is foreign to him. Its giving stepping on people on his way to the top vibes but him not noticing where he's walkin and who he's trekking on. "Like oops didn't see you there, now anyways....."

- He gets bored pretty easily as well. Once his attention is lost, hes moving on to something else (it can cost him a lot of money in the future or even now having such a low attention span)

- Remember when I said he's a ladies man and it doenst have to mean sexually, scratch that. Most of the time its sexually. He can be perverted with how he watches/goes after women. (Like if he thought a colleague was hot and she was an actress, he could search the internet for bikini pics of her and stuff of that sort)

- He's definitely a risk taking, driven man that goes after what he wants (no matter the cost is has on others). Hes not that detail oriented and can be bossy and controlling but overall he's the leader type and is VERY comfortable in that position.

- He's not one to stay in one spot for long. I wouldn't be surprised if he even changes his home's a lot as well.

- Tomohisa does a good job at making money and going after job opportunities but he's not the best at keeping money, he may spend frivolously and I doubt he has a consistent budget or money plan that he sticks to.

- In the romance department, he can be impatient with relationships and doenst like partner that move slow or take their time with love. He wants things to move as fast as he moves and will want to end the connection if he feels your not enough for him (whether he thinks a lover is not passionate enough for him or not fun enough, he'll leave). I don't think he wants a cool, calm and collected partner (he thinks that's boring), he wants someone the opposite of all of that. He wants a person just as exciting as he is, and I see that he's single rn bc of this unfilled desire.

as specified in previous headcanons posts (see above), aether isn’t human nor a living being for that matter—he’s a caeling, a creature created by the cosmos itself, stardust embodied in one being to complement another and form a perfect weapon. originally created to be a soldier to follow every order of the universe to keep its essence in perfect balance, travelling through galaxies to fulfil their wishes, he slowly began to develop his own set of morals, ethics and personal thinking as he started to get to know more living beings, planets, cultures, histories, etc. however, such independence and sentience is fairly new to him, considering his many years of existence.

aether and lumine were created to act as an organism, with one complementing the other in battle techniques and personalities. regarding the latter, if you meet both twins, you can immediately draw out how much of an opposite pair they’re, even if they emanate a similar aura. lumine is suspicious of people, whereas aether is much more receptive to them. when they’re in a new world, lumine prefers to gather resources and trinkets, whereas aether prefers to explore and memorise what he sees and experiences. lumine tends to be more practical and goal-oriented, whereas aether tends to see the details and focus on subjective matters and “what ifs” when they run into a problem. now that she isn’t around, aether tries to think as lumine would when he encounters a situation he can’t figure out. considering that he never had to be so independent before when they travelled together, it’s a very difficult task for him, but he makes due thanks to paimon’s help and the influence he received from his friends in teyvat.

his greatest fear is to be completely alone, forever—no lumine, no paimon, none of his friends. the thought alone causes him great anxiety. is this because of his design as a caeling that depends on another in order to be “whole”, as the universe insists on suggesting him? or is this a phobia he acquired due to what happened with the unknown god?

that being said, he has great separation anxiety. don’t misunderstand, he can go days without anyone’s company, completely isolated and still remain relatively calm—but when those days turn into a week, he quickly starts falling into a panic mode and he’ll look for anyone close to fill in the void he feels. yes, even enemies. he just doesn’t want to feel like he’s the only being left in the emptiness of existence. that’s probably why he makes sure to pay all his friends in teyvat a visit—he never wants anyone to feel the same, either.

very few things make him flustered, but pointing out that he’s being clingy or more affectionate than usual (especially if your muse and aether develop something more than just a friendship), is certainly one of them and he will blush and probably get a bit conscious about it. he’ll apologise as soon as you finish your sentence—and it’ll probably take a while before he makes any kind of physical contact again. yes, this includes casual touches, too. he’d just be that embarrassed.

when blushing, aether’s face doesn’t get pink or red like a human would; instead, his cheeks get a rich purple colour, close to a dark blue, and little starry freckles can be seen “dancing” through his nose and cheekbones. he’s a lightweight, so you can also see that for yourself if you take him out for a drink. in the rare case he accepts your invite (he’s very self-aware of those features of his, hence his carefulness), it won’t take long before he starts purpling and burping little constellations out of his mouth.

aether’s limbs are naturally blackened like the void (direct visual reference is above in the drawing i sketched, but here’s another reference on pinterest). when rid of his usual gloves, chest piece and pants, you can see that his limbs are as dark as the abyss—save for some glowy points, ingrained “crystals” in his skin (chest, writs, knees), the same ones that reflect his elemental talents. said crystals are very sensitive to the touch and he doesn’t let everyone go around touching them, especially the ones on his wrists. 

he almost never takes off his gloves, be it with hand-holding, simple caresses; not even during more intimate moments. if he does take his gloves off to feel your muse’s skin directly for whatever reason or scenario, know for sure that he’s deeply, madly in love with your muse. caelings have the ability to memorise physical, emotional and elemental sensations through direct contact with their fingertips and hand crystals. it’s a very intimate type of contact, similar to feeling one’s soul—and allowing them to feel yours in turn, if they so desire.
