#she's surprisingly underrated in this fandom

Ever wonder how much the fandom rooted for Princess Carolyn to find her well deserved happiness and how she was too good for Bojack? It’s pretty much contrasts with how the fandom treats Diane and how angry they are with how she didn’t appreciate Mr. PB even though it’s been spelled out clearly on the show that he wasn’t an attentive husband. Then again I don’t see anyone in the fandom ever trying to tear down Princess Carolyn.
Yeah, I've seen folks sometimes ignoring Princess Carolyn as a character, but I rarely see anyone outright HATING her, because like you said, we all agree that she deserves better than BoJack, her mother, and every other bad thing she went through.
I think there are a few things people don't understand about Diane. One is her trauma, which isn't like BoJack's or Princess Carolyn's. I think Diane's trauma had a more emotional impact on her, as in her family never listens to her and they often treat her like she's being almighty and preachy ("Oh, Princess Diane making everything about herself again"). That, and the "Cryane" videos, where her brothers film her crying when she found out her pen pal wasn't real. They're more emotionally neglectful and what we know as bullies, hence why people don't take the damage seriously. Even Diane probably thought that her trauma was "not as bad" as others, especially as she couldn't give examples or proof that her childhood was bad (and the brain often blocks memories to protect ourselves).
And even a non-abusive and well-meaning partner like Mr. Peanutbutter didn't respect or understand what Diane wanted. Despite her telling him over and over again that she doesn't like big gestures, Mr. Peanutbutter continued to do so. Maybe in his head it makes sense after his failed marriages, but that doesn't erase the fact he didn't listen to Diane, besides him projecting his exes onto her. Mr. Peanutbutter often gave her superficial acts of love, hence the recreation of Belle's room. He didn't bother getting real books, for that matter. Maybe it wasn't a public gesture like the previous times, but he still tainted Diane's comfort fantasy. And once again, he reinforces, even if unintentionally, that Diane's vulnerability will turn against her or humiliate her.
Finally, I think it's unfair for the fandom to compare Mr. Peanutbutter and Diane to PC and BoJack, because BoJack was an actual asshole to PC, who went through hell and back for him even when they weren't dating anymore. Mr. Peanutbutter and Diane were more incompatible than anything, and people overlook Diane's trauma because they see BoJack's, PC's or Beatrice's, and they just believe she's whining. But as someone who has a similar trauma experience to Diane's, it's still painful and lonely. And it's hard when you don't have any physical proof of the bad things that happened to you.
#asks#bojack horseman#meta#bojack meta#abuse tw#probably my first ask about bojack#thanks!#i've been thinking a lot about diane and how much i relate to her#she's surprisingly underrated in this fandom#so thanks for your insight too

kouyou is realllly underrated as a character though. like people mostly focus on the fact that she's a badass lady with a sword and that's real, but literally her backstory? mentioned and never brought up again. the trust issues she has are real. but moreso than that, as much as she is sweet on kyouka, she's also genuinely mafia, in a way that chuuya isn't. she tried to escape and then she failed and then she couldn't beat them so she joined them. she's a victim who eventually went on to perpetuate the problems which she was once a victim of. she kinda acts like she's secretly good and is being forced to kill when she really doesn't want to, but we know that's not true, because by this point, she could have just walked away from the port mafia, the killing, the blood money, all of it, and she's actively making the decision to stay, and encourage others to stay too. this is all to say that she's awful /pos and surprisingly multi-layered, despite her lack of presence in this fandom and the show beyond "kyouka's wine aunt"

Jason The Toymaker Headcanons
The grind never stops fr fr. Sorry for disappearing I had summer classes and then a certain triangle demon from a kid’s show is took up most of my attention and creativity, and now I’m in regular classes and silly goofy video games have taken up my attention and creativity when I’m not slaving over my art projects for school. Teehee. Oops!
Jason has been another underrated character in this fandom imo, and I especially love love love LOVE characters who just get so obsessed with shit. I can’t remember if it was canon or fanon about him, but I love the fact he gets so possessive of his friends to the point where he kills the competition. And also the friend. Because the best friend to have is one you have complete control over, right?
Anyways.
Cis man? WRONG.
Like you’re gonna look at Jason and tell me that motherfucker has only ever used he/him pronouns? Bro is an eccentric Toymaker ffs
Jason uses any pronouns. Even the ones that don’t exist. Bro collects that shit like Pokemon cards
Hey remember LJ? Yeah Jason made him
I mean hello??? Sentient toy clown? That’s right up Jason’s alley
Jason has also made other clown characters, like Candy Pop
Jason is also one of the few inhabitants that straight up doesn’t need to eat food. Ever
Much like Nina, no one’s really sure what he is, they just know its immortal like everyone else and insanely hard to kill
Most people also avoid them or go out of their way to not get emotionally close to him for super obvious reasons
Like. They’ve all seen her workshop. Every week he comes back with a new human he’s lied to and whisked off their feet with some bullshit fantasy and within the next few days they’ve made a doll of the poor guy
Jason technically isn’t even allowed to do that, humans aren’t allowed to know of the existence of the manor or Slenderman or literally anything that goes on there, but does Jason care? Absolutely not
Slenderman tried getting on her ass about it once, and by some miracle Jason was able to talk themselves out of punishment
Besides making morbid people dolls, Jason of course also makes random other toys. Almost all of them are sentient or are able to think and comprehend speech
Jason uses Mr. Glutton (the snake) as not only a chair, but a garbage disposal as well. Need to get rid of body parts? Give to the snake. It’s like a black hole in there
So y’know how Anne and Eyeless Jack are the go-to doctors of the residency? Jason is the fix it guy for anything that’s not biological
Torn clothing? Jason can sew it up for ya
Gun/chainsaw/mechanical weapon is jammed? Jason has a fix for it
Broken trinket from your room? Jason somehow has already made an exact copy of it for this specific occasion
You could count on one hand the things Jason doesn’t know how to fix
And still despite being the repairperson no one usually sticks around long enough to chat
You’d think with how delusionally clingy this mf is that it would be a problem but surprisingly no
There’s a reason why xe specifically only targets humans
Like? Humans as a species are so easy to manipulate? And are leagues more fun to torture and scare than her fellow serial killer roommates
Similarly to how the others make bets on what weird item Helen can use as a murder weapon, they also make bets on how fast Jason’s next victim gets dollified
So far the record is a single day because somehow one girl had the balls to pull an 80s horror protagonist and stabbed Jason with their own fabric shears
She didn’t get far. Obviously. What’d you expect from an entire mansion crawling with murderous entities. LJ accidentally clotheslined the girl while reaching between doorways for something
Everyone on the third floor then got to bear witness to Jason dragging her back to his workshop by her ankles. Using the same fabric shears. The carpet is still stained from how much she bled. I’m pretty sure one of her fingernails is still lodged in the wall, too
While they don’t share a studio/workshop, Jason and Helen often use a lot of the same crafting materials. They have a mutual relationship where if one of them goes out, they return with something both of them ran out of recently
Beyond that they literally never speak to each other, and they both like it that way
Jason is way too eccentric for Helen to be able to stomach for longer than an hour, and Helen is too particular with so many different things that it gets on Jason’s nerves
One of the few people that does stick around Jason often is Ann
Obviously there’s the underlying factor that Ann literally owes her current life to Jason, but even outside of that stipulation, Ann finds them pleasant to hang around
Unlike Jason’s other doll experiments and creations, Ann is the only one that came with sentience already attached. Saved Jason the hassle of having to create an entire consciousness network from scratch
Like damn, vengeance is one hell of a powerful force, enough so that once Ann was put back together by Jason, she was up and functioning practically immediately
The two aren’t inseparable per se, and definitely don’t see each other as anything more than friends (Ann moreso than Jason), but you can often find them in the same room interacting
Jason, like many of the others, adore Sally to an unnerving degree. It seems as if everyone, no matter how much they dislike kids or ghosts or humans or whatever else Sally counts as, feels a supernaturally strong urge to protect the kid. Jason is one of the few seen with her constantly
Yeah go figure the Toymaker likes to appease the child
But seriously it’s a little freaky how Sally has this effect on so many people. Someone should look into that
While it’s one of the most recent additions to the household, Jason is one of the oldest entities within the group.
Like hello bro was around in the late 1800s, Jason has peepaw bragging rights
With that comes the stipulation that Jason hates modern technology. The newest thing they own is a sewing machine from the 70s
I think it’s pretty obvious that because of his peepaw status, + the fact Jason thrives off unhealthy obsessive friendships, a lot of the younger residents hate her, and vice versa
Is friends/close with: Sally, Ann, Nina, and LJ
Is neutral about: Jane, EJ, Kagekao, Helen, and Slenderman
Doesn’t get along with/hates: BEN/Ben, Jeff, Clockwork, Puppeteer, Liu, Masky, and Hoody
Ben is practically the antithesis of Jason. Modern tech manipulator vs old fashioned old timey manipulator
If those two somehow end up in the same room it’s ON SIGHT
Nina and Jason are constantly bitching and gossiping about anything and everything under the sun. Somehow someone who’s besties with Jason’s rival is also besties with Jason. Nina is just that talented, apparently
Ofc they also bond over fashion. Who do you think makes most of Nina’s batshit insane wardrobe pieces?
Puppeteer annoys the hell out of Jason. That, and he keeps trying to steal and manipulate all the dolls Jason makes. Rude.
Jason is the only one allowed to destroy xer own work. If it catches you fucking with any of the dolls, thrown away or otherwise, you can kiss your existence goodbye because Jason will make it her life’s mission to see to it you never have peace again
Tries not to be in their true/corrupted form too often considering how rotted his arms get in that state. The skin flakes off and everything, and it’s really inconvenient when you’re trying to work on fine craftsmanship and your own rotten black flesh keeps falling into your paint or some shit
Not exactly the easiest thing to control though. The more emotionally volatile Jason is, the more likely you’re gonna see him at his worst

Mod Introduction #1 (Welcome to the Blog! Narf!)
Hellooooooooo Tumblr!!! If you are seeing this, you have stumbled across the newest Pinky and The Brain exclusive blog (as hinted by the title of course!) that will be dedicated to celebrating the legacy, brilliance, and gayness of the PaTB franchise! I am Mod Pinky (my other half will be making an intro very soon) and many of you may know me from my main blog @theonethatyaks93 where I post Animaniacs and PaTB content for a living. I am really glad to share this fun new project with my bestest partner and we are both excited to be sharing our love for the mice with all of you! Now I am aware that the fandom is not as active as it once was, and many blogs like this one have been abandoned. Still, we are excited to be keeping the fandom alive and we are looking forward to helping cement this show into public conscious for a while longer. But enough about that; we'll be making another post to describe the blog in more depth at a later time. Let's get to the fun, actual introduction part of the post:
Name: Please call me Pinky or Mod Pinky if you'd like
Pronouns: She/They
Basic Interests: Writing, Singing, Acting, Animation, Drawing,
Dream Job(s): Voice Actor, Author, Writer on a PaTB Reboot
OTP: Brinky
My History in the Fandom: Surprisingly, I've been involved in the Animaniacs fandom since 2020 and the PaTB fandom since 2021. I got into the show thanks to the trailer for the Animaniacs reboot and I instantly fell in love. I was actually more into the Warner Siblings when I first watched the original series and I spend the first months in the fandom obsessing over them. However in 2021, I got really, REALLY into Pinky and The Brain. I believe it was because I saw people talking about them everywhere. And I started shipping Brinky as well. The mice just appealed to me specifically, and as I was going through the worst time in my life, they were there to help me out. Since then, nearly three years later, I've become an expert in all things PaTB. Pinky and The Brain has actually gotten me interested in other things shockingly, including neurological science and even rodent care, believe it or not. These mice have a death grip on my life and I am looking forward to growing my love for the series even more.

Most Underrated Episodes (Again, in no particular order):
Brain's Song
Pinky's Dream House
Anything from the Animaniacs Reboot
Melancholy Brain
The Pinky and The Brain Reunion Special
But That's Not All Folks!
Dangerous Brains

A Meticulous Analysis of History
I Ate a Rock
Pinky's Dream House (Song)
Brain Doggie Mambo
International Mouse of Mystery (For the vocal performance alone)
Most Interesting Opinions on the Show:
I really like Snowball. He's my favorite side character from any iteration
Julia (from the reboot) is AMAZING in her second and third appearances. Not in her first
I prefer the fan versions of Billie to her canon character
I do not like Phar Fignewton very much. She isn't a very interesting character
I think Pinky and The Brain thrived in the late 90's while Animaniacs faltered a bit. Seasons 3-5 of Animaniacs had some good episodes but quite a few duds while PaTB had an incredible third and fourth season
To me Brinky is canonized in the reboot. Not in the traditional sense but it's pretty obvious
The reboot PaTB episodes are really good
I am not a big fan of the episode Brainania. It's not bad but I find it a bit slow in the pacing department
Mousechurian Candidate (from the reboot) is the worst episode of PaTB ever made
Pinky, Elmyra, and The Brain is not as bad as people think and there are some good jokes. But it is nowhere near the quality of the rest of the franchise
Pinky is the best character ever created (not biased)
My favorite episodes of the show are usually the ones that focus more on character dynamics and emotion
The animation of the show is very inconsistent. My favorite studios are TMS and Rough Draft since I think they capture how they characters look the best. Wang could be pretty good too but in other episodes they made the mice look strange. Akom did some weird lighting techniques but they did great on the episode Snowball, and the less said about Startoons the better.
I like Pinky and Brain's reboot designs a lot. And I think there are some improvements (i.e. Brain's more expressive face, the details in the designs, Pinky's more angular body, Pinky's tail, their cute little fangs). But I like them in the original series for the softer edges and more classic feel
What am I Going to Do on this Blog: One of my biggest ideas (along with getting to share my love of the mice with everyone and my partner-in-crime) is maybe to do a weekly thing, where I analyze an episode or moment from the show. I also want to review fanfictions and post random funny mouse things. Maybe I can show you guys the comics I have or my ever-growing merchandise collection. I will be opening the ask-box to suggestions at some point so if you want me or my partner to look at a specific moment, feel free to ask. I might even make some Tumblr-exclusive fanfics to post on here too. This is mainly just a fun place for us to express our love for Pinky and The Brain so it might seem random at times. But I can assure you all that I want to do some fun stuff to build up excitement. These are all things I wanted to do on my main blog but I think it will be better to do it here.
Once again, I would like to say that I am really excited for all that we have planned! This is a project I have been secretly wanting to do for a long time, and now I have someone to do it with. My Brain is perfect and I know that we're going to do so many amazing things with this blog! She's the greatest. Stay tuned for another intro coming soon and be prepared for more regular posts to come out in the following days.
The Revolution for Gay Mice Supremacy begins!
Mod Pinky over and out! Narf!
(this is not an elaborate plan to take over the world I promise you)

favorite underrated bb character? mine is drossel, i think he’s super under appreciated in the fandom and surprisingly i have a lot of my own hcs for him😭😭 love that puppet boy
I LOVE DROSSEL TOO, he's an interesting little guy, I want to draw him more I'm the type of persons that enjoys a little bit of every character (minus the obvious Druitt, Kelvin, whatever other twat there is like them), I can list a few characters I like but there is Irene (I find her cute honestly), Jane (favourite werewolf girl) and also the kids from the orphanage (Theodore, Oliver, Mabel, Artie). I know most people don't care about them but I find them neat.. It's probably because I loved and fixated on the promised neverland manga so it's like a attachment thing BUT if I had to choose, I think I'd have to go with Jane since as you can tell I already have headcanons for her hehehe, werewolf girl who's the elder sister of wolfram c'mon!! She's awesome

Out of curiosity, which character would you say you consider the most underrated and you'd like to write more of? This can be either in the fandom or in canon as written
hmmm. In canon I think it would be fun to know more about the Black family. Andromeda’s story must be interesting. As for underrated, I kind of feel for Fleur. She’s written as such a flat character, and it annoyed me that she performed relatively poorly in the tournament, where she was the only witch, and having a personal that was basically ‘hot and French’ and nothing else. Sooooo I guess fleur would be my answer, surprisingly.

Hello! Could I request Ace and Levi from drdt with a fem! ult novelist who is tired all the time and overworks herself?
Sure thing! I feel like these two boys are kinda underrated in the fandom so I'm happy to write for them!
Ace and Levi with a Fem! ultimate novelist S/O who's constantly tired
Warnings: none
Fem! reader
Levi:
-Concerned boyfriend
-He has a deep appreciation for your talent and the dedication you put into your writing, but he hates seeing how normal it is for you to be so exhausted all the time
-But he also kind of gets it, there will be times when he's so invested in his work that he'll forget to take care of himself as well
-He understands that it's not as simple as getting up and going to bed, especially when you have the intense need to finish something, no matter how long it takes
-That being said, he'll do as much as can to help you manage your sleep and your work balance
-He'll make a planner setting aside ample time to work, while also giving you time for yourself and to sleep, Scheduled around your working needs
-Like if you do you're best writing at night he'll set your work hours for the evening or vise versa, as well as how long it typically takes you to get a certain amount of work done
-If you refuse to come to bed, he'll straight up just... pick you up and carry you to your bed
-He'll stay with you if you have a hard time sleeping, he has a very comforting presence
-He often helps you with writing ideas during your writer blocks, he knows how much they stress you out and he doesn't want you to be stressed
-More on the writing side of things, he loves talking to you about your books (He's read them all and has the next one on preorder)
-He enjoys hearing about your writing process, what inspires you, if any of your books are inspired by real events or people, ect
-Once your newest novel drops, he reads it as fast as possible so he can discuss it with you
-He's also just enamored by the way you write, you're not called the ultimate novelist for no reason after all
-Whilst reading, he can tell how much love, effort, and care you put into the writing, perfecting every last detail
-He's super proud of you, he just hopes you'll sleep more once you begin working on your next book
Ace:
-Ok I mean this in the nicest possible way...
-He thinks your lack of sleep is stupid
-Has the mentality of "why are you tired? Just sleep lol"
-Even after you explain it to him, he doesn't really understand why you don't sleep
-But he has enough braincells to understand that it impacts you pretty heavily so he stops insulting it
-He didn't see why it was a big deal at first, but after using his observation skills for once, he's like "oh shit this is an actual issue, uh oh"
-He wants to help you because even though he can be insensitive he loves you, but also, he's Ace so his methods are a bit more... harsh I guess? (annoying is probably a better word actually). But they are super effective
-He has this really strategic way of getting you to sleep, he calls it "annoy Y/N until she has no choice but to sleep because I won't shut up until she does"
-As I said, it's very effective
-Once nighttime rolls around, he'll start whining and begging for you to come to bed with him because 'he saw a shadow move and he needs you to protect him from it' or some dumb shit like that
-He's purposefully playing up his anxiety to get you to sleep and it's working surprisingly well
-If you still refuse, he'll just keep bugging you, it's not like you can work with him constantly talking anyway so you might as well sleep
-He also has an iron grip on you while he sleeps so good luck trying to get up after he falls asleep to do more work because that's not happening
-I can't say he's read all of your books because I'd be lying (he doesn't strike me as an avid reader tbh) but he does want to read the one you've been working on
-Once it's out, he'll read it and praise you on your work (although it'll probably take him awhile to finish)
-He genuinely likes your writing and he's decided to go and read your other stuff now
(I hope you enjoyed! I feel kinda bad for clowning on Ace so much but it's just so easy to do, I had to)

Some good anime recs
With magic and/or queer characters, that are fun, thoughtful, emotionally satisfying, beautiful.
Natsume's Book of Friends
One of the best manga/anime out there. Has some serious angst but also light comedy, issues about the fleeting life of fragile human beings from long-lived/immortal beings' POV, found families, sweet friendship, and a bit of unexpected horror. If you love Ghibli stuff especially Spirited Away, this should be for you. No queer characters in this, not really (except one minor female character), but the vibes of some characters can be debatedly genderqueer friendly for some (especially the youkai) and mlm lining for others, and the fandom delivers as usual. The 7th season is currently airing, and it's never disappointing, please come gush to/with me about how good it is!
Bodacious Space Pirates
Fun hard sci-fi. Mostly young women being cool, smart, funny, and a bit sapphic. Corsair girls in their awesome spaceship, doing light crimes, racing, and saving the galaxy. Super underrated, was slept on when it aired back then and that's just a damn shame.
Flying Witch
The nice daily life of a good apprentice witch, her witches friend and her magical and non-magical relatives, and the many strange and fun creatures she meets. Way too short, manga is still running and could easily be adapted to at least two other seasons (I recommend reading it too), worldbuilding is super creative and it's fascinating how the supernatural is usually just part of nature and the characters dealing with in simple tranquil ways. Side note: I wish some of these witches were as gay they seem.
Witchcraft Works
Underrated too, fun, weirdly feminist imo, creative with great animation, too short and deserve at least a second season to finish to story as the manga is complete. Childhood friends to lovers, boy's one of the sweetest male characters I know and his love for penguins deserves more appreciation, tall witch girl is badass as hell and also somehow a himbo. Catchy funny ending song is iconic.
Yuri!! On Ice
Do I really need to say something, pretty sure it should be popular enough, but maybe teens out here weren't old enough to have been on the internet/Tumblr etc when it was released? It's been some years after all. It's a good sport anime, with one hell of a hilarious twist around episode 7, which completely changed my opinion on the two main characters and their relationship, and makes this such a re-watchable season. Still waiting for a following, though and it's getting worrisome (hopeless?) since the prequel move got cancelled this year... But worth it anyway.
Tales of Zestiria
Famous game franchise with many unrelated games and their animated adaptation, I have a particular love for this instalment for how surprisingly queer friendly the ending was (wlw 🤝mlm solidarity). Good animation and lovable characters, cool fights, it makes you want to play the game(s), and that wouldn't be a bad thing as it is a good gateway to JRPGs in general imho. Quite active fandom still to this day and for shippers that's really nice.
Frieren
There's a lot of things to be said about this amazing manga/anime, it's funny, touching, melancholy, romantic, has some awesome animation and cool fights and is satisfying to dungeon RPG fans... It's really one of the best anime ever and I really recommend getting on the bandwagon now to follow it while release because imo it's one of those stories that benefits the best in weekly release (anime and manga) to let the feelings simmer and the fandom talks flourish (like without spoiling much, currently in the manga, a certain character is back and seriously tense situations are happening and some painful dilemma should be coming, better to live it than hear about everything later I'd say, especially because of how culte the anime already is). Much like Natsume's Book of Friends the way it touch on the pain but worth of knowing and caring for someone even if your lifespans are wildly different, is at the heart of the story and the characters's development and it's so well written. You know the end of the journey will leave you with lasting effects.
#Anime recs#Anime#halloween recommendations#Queer characters#For the people who need to heal their soul#I have more stuff to rec always but these are especially on my mind after AAA#If people even see this post and if any of you try at least some of them if you don't know them already#I'd be glad to know if you liked it

For the fandom ask game: pjo? I think you mentioned being in that fandom a while ago?
I did!
blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most)
Basic bitch answer, but Percy or Annabeth! I love them they're the perfect MCs
scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped)
HAZEL!!! I JUST WANT TO SQUISH HER
scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave)
(Idk if this counts but) MAGNUS CHASE he's such a cool MC!! He's sarcastic and chill and surprisingly level-headed and so so down bad for Alex and far more intelligent than people give him credit for and also a total loser I love him. Also PIPER Rick did her so dirty she could be so powerful if he let her be
glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week)
Literally any of the Kanes or the Hunters! They come, kick ass and look hot, then leave, and that's honestly iconic of them
poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave)
Apollo BUT him specifically from ToA or post-ToA like he's soo wet cat coded. He's a little freak and cries over his children regularly and his psuedo-children and he's a GOOD DAD
horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason)
Will Solace! Ik ik he's already been through a lot but I love him so much and he must suffer for it. Maybe his gay as hell boyfriend too
eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell)
Octavian or Zeus I just,,, really dislike them
(ask game)

violet evergarden for the fandom ask? :)
Ask game
Blorbo (fave) - Violet! Peak kuudere, wants to get a good grade in emotions so, so bad. Amazing depiction of recovering from trauma.
Scrunkly (baby) - Iris. She's surprisingly adorable when she's not being a brat. Actually she's pretty cute when she's being a brat, too.
Scrimblo Bimblo (underrated) - Gilbert. Like, I get it, he's the dead wife for most of the story, and the circumstances of his relationship with Violet are weird. But he's genuinely noble, hardworking, and kind, and the story does a wonderful job of showing exactly why he's the sort of man Violet would fall in love with.
Glupp Shitto (obscure) - Aiden (the soldier from episode 11). Absolutely heartbreaking. He's played by Johnny Yong Bosch in the dub and it's one of the best performances of his career.
Poor Little Meow Meow (bastard fave) - Dietfried. Bastard man. Absolutely amazing character development.
Horse Plinko (suffer ❤️) - Benedict. There's something about him that compels me to fuck with him.
Eeby Deeby (Mr. Electric, send him directly to hell!) - Other than Obviously Evil Warmonger Man, I'm not really sure.

scrimblo bimblo(underrated): Cassandra! and idc if she's not "underappreciated" by the fandom at large or w/e I just need to appreciate her more, Personally
glup shitto(obscure): man what happened to Piebald. Ik it was probably cause season 2 got chopped in half mid production (damn you, viacom) but she showed up Exactly Once and never again. I hope she's ok.
poor little meow meow(pathetic/"problematic"): yes Big Mama is an actual criminal comparable to a mob boss, yes she kidnapped people for her literal underground fighting ring, yes she changes the terms and conditions at the last second, and yes, she and her hotel got fuckin wrecked as a result of her hubris last we saw her. But she's hot and funny so it's ok. I stand with Splinter's my cancelled wife
horse plinko(would torment for funsies): they're all surprisingly fun to torment (what can I say, I like putting my little guys in Situations) but if I had to pick just One.. sorry Leo, it's for character development💙

#asks#ancnome#rottmnt#rise of the tmnt#capital says things#ehehehe thanks again!!#this was on my mind all day while i was at work dnfbcb

Some Anon requested I do this, and I agreed to cover it for three of my favorite anime: Moriarty the Patriot, Black Butler, and Welcome to the Demon School! Iruma-kun. So...here are my answers, as succinctly as possible... Favorite Characters
MTP = William James Moriarty
BB = Sebastian Michaelis
Demon School = Alice Asmodeus.
Yeah, I have a type, to some degree or another. XD
Favorite Arc/Episode/Scene
I'll give a fave scene for one, a fave episode for another, and a fave arc for the last.
MTP = "Catch Me If You Can, Mr. Holmes" from "The Two Detectives." I can watch that scene over and over again on repeat and be just as happy as if I saw the whole episode. <3
BB = "Ciel in Wonderland." Because I'm a sucker for "Alice," and because that was actually how I was introduced to the show!
Demon School = Royal One Acquisition Arc. Not sure why, to be honest, it just is. XD
Character I Think Is Underrated
MTP = There are actually a lot of characters I could answer with here. XD I'm gonna with Von Herder/Q, since he shows up in both the anime and the manga...but in the anime he has very, VERY little to do, and most people probably forget he's there unless they read the manga. Still, at least he made it IN...my deepest condolences, Moneypenny and Billy the Kid.
BB = Madame Red. I consider her underrated because - SPOILER ALERT - she dies before ten episodes are over. But even after all this time, I still think she's a really interesting character, and the Jack the Ripper arc that basically kicks off the show - and which she is heavily involved in - is probably one of my favorites to this day. (Mostly because I'm a sucker for Jack the Ripper Fiction, to be fair.) I don't tend to see a TON of fanwork or posts about her, in general, at least not when compared to a lot of the other characters, most likely BECAUSE she dies so early in the series. Still, she's iconic to me.
Demon School = Honestly, I'm not as "in touch" with THIS fandom, in terms of what characters seem to be more or less popular than others, sooooooo...I'm gonna saaaay...MAYBE Amaryllis Asmodeus? Seriously, Azz's Mom is such a fun character, especially in the manga. I can't wait till the anime shows more of her. <3
Character I Think is Overrated
MTP = I don't think there ARE any characters I consider overrated in this series. The closest I can think of is Milverton, and he's a.) one of my favorite anime villains of all time, and b.) probably my favorite version of this character from any interpretation of the Holmes universe. So if that's the closest thing to "overrated" I can think of? It says something. XD
BB = Does Ciel himself count? :P I don't hate him with the fiery vitriol a couple people I know do - generally speaking, he's an interesting protagonist - but as far as main characters in anime go, he IS quite the notorious little brat. Plus, he gets in the way of me "kinkifying" Sebastian! SO unfair. (huffs)
Demon School = Again, I don't really know the fandom well enough to answer, but...hmmmmm...maybe Jazz? Because he SEEMS to have a fair share of fans, and my opinion about him is, "Well...I like him, but...that's kind of it." He's neither a character I'm hyper into nor hyper against, at this point in time. XD
Favorite Ship/Pairing
MTP = SHERLIAM ALL THE WAY, BABY
BB = I actually don't know if I have a favorite ship/pairing, somewhat surprisingly. I guess MAYBE either GrellRon or Grelliam. The former because I remember reading some fanfics of it back when I was first getting into the fandom, though I haven't looked at them in years...and Grelliam because they are SUCH a wonderful duo of total polar opposites, and it is GLORIOUS. XD
Demon School = IruAzz. I love the fact that, in the show, there are NUMEROUS female characters who are canonically into Iruma. He's, like, the world's most unwitting ladies man. XD But for me, the ship that really gets me is Iruma and Azz, partially because Azz is my favorite character, but also partially because I feel - especially in the manga - there are SO many moments that feel just as shippable between them, IF NOT MORE SO, compared to ANY of the female protagonists featured.
Something I Love About the Show/Movie
MTP = I am a HUGE Sherlock Holmes fan, and this is one of my favorite reimaginings of that universe. I love how you can tell the people behind the scenes were the same kind of crazy as me, clearly doing their homework and research in a LOT of places, while still bringing something new and unique to the universe and characters in question.
BB = This was one of the first "serious" anime I ever saw, and I am a sucker for Victorian Gothic tropes and Faust-like tales. This is both of those things with a few unique twists.
Demon School = I love how the series shifts tonally as it goes on, starting off super colorful and crazy and silly and steadily getting deeper, a bit darker, and more intensely action-oriented as the show goes on. I love how it juggles that tone, as there is some dark stuff towards the start, and it also never loses its sense of humor. There are only a couple of other anime I enjoy for their balance of tone (that's not something anime is typically known for, I'd say), and this is probably one of the best examples of that.
Anime Ask Game
Hello everyone! I’ve been super busy lately so I haven’t been posting many review/rec posts, but I had the idea to do an ask game (? I think that’s what they’re called) I don’t know how much interest there will be in this lol but I figured it’d be fun to put it out there and see if anyone participates.
I’ve seen other popular anime ones going around but I wanted to do a DIY one bc I am a control freak :)
Send me an anime (preferably one I’ve seen) and I’ll tell you my
Favorite Character:
Favorite Arc/Episode/Scene:
Character I Think is Underrated:
Character I Think is Overrated:
Favorite Ship/Pairing:
Something I Love About the Show/Movie:
Also feel free to reblog this and use it yourself! Like I said there are other ones going around too but if you like this one go for it.
Thanks!

Ask Game (Horizon Fandom)
Thank you @sorbetowl for tagging me! I’m really bad at keeping up with these tags games but this was fun to write out.
1. ride or die ship (your otp): For sure, Ereloy! Erend is just the sweetest and most loyal character. He doubts himself a lot but is always willing to give his all for his friends. And I’m sure he gives the best hugs with his giant arms, I just wanna snuggle him!
2. most annoying ship: We don’t ship shame in this house.
3. second favorite ship: Hawk and Thrush (Talanoy? I can never remember the combo name). Surprisingly, I actually fell for this ship first, before Ereloy. The damage HFW’s writing did to Talanah’s character broke my hope for the Sunhawk to be a main companion and let Ereloy jump into the lead.
4. favorite platonic relationship: Gildun and Aloy. Truly, Gildun is my favorite non-companion NPC; he’s just the sweetest! I’d play a whole game that was just these two delving through ruins together. I also really love the older-sibling-care the Base companions take with Beta, especially Varl; wish we could have seen more of that.
5. underrated ship: Morlund/Abadund. I’ve accepted this ship so completely that I forget it’s not actually canon. But I love these two!
6. overrated ship: If people are enjoying themselves, what’s the harm?
7. one thing i would change in canon: There’s a lot in HFW’s story I would change, and the Burning Shores DLC too. But I think it mainly boils down to pacing. Too much was introduced into HFW at once that the pacing suffered; it felt rushed to me. Like other fans have written in far greater detail than me, I would have liked Regalla to remain the big bad of the second game, with hints from Sylens or other ways that there’s something even bigger out there but the Zeniths wouldn’t be revealed until the end of the game. Aloy can still be finding subfunctions but with the intention of needing more than just Minerva to bring GAIA back. Getting her back and in the Base a third of the way through HFW felt so weird; it would be a much better endgame triumph. The final mission is Aloy defeating Regalla, Sylens cryptically says she’s actually made things far worse, Aloy restores GAIA with the subfunctions she collected, and the Zeniths are revealed at the very end, maybe alluding to Beta but keeping her in shadow so she’s still a mystery. (I will say I’m hopeful that the writers will pull off Nemesis, especially if they go creepy with it like the Burning Shores datapoint hints; it just felt like Regalla and the Zeniths were rushed through the second game for this secret big bad ball of digital ghosts)
8. something canon did right: The entirety of HZD is phenomenal but I’ll challenge myself to pick something in the main quests of HFW. I’ll say that I loved Faro’s Tomb. The CEO was a delightful egotistical jerk, the reveal of the survivors through datapoints was well paced, and Faro’s final fate was the perfect end to the dumbass who destroyed the world. I even liked that Faro’s monster form is just left to our imagination. Definitely my favorite of the main story quests.
9. a thing i'm proud of creating for the fandom: Memes, memes galore, memes for days! I started making them for fun on my Horizon discords and Tumblr but they’ve branched out further than I expected; to other Horizon discords, to Twitter, one meme even inspired a fanfic. It’s why I made my side-blog now for all the Horizon silliness I can come up with and sharing what others make too. I’m glad others are enjoying the various silliness
10. a character who is perfect to me (wouldn't change a thing): The Oseram showmen trio. They bounce off each other so well and they’re great fun to interact with. I hope they make a comeback in Horizon 3.
11. the character i relate to the most and why: Alva. Not a heavy hitter in battle but the dear girl is always trying her best. She rambles about things she’s excited about, which I do constantly. She’s always trying to be cheery for others, even when she’s probably so worried about her family and her girlfriend back home, which is just me in a nutshell.
12. character(-s) i hate the most and why: I don’t think there are any characters I hate. I’ve been disappointed by some for being poorly written or not used to their full potential like the Zeniths but none I hate.
13. something i've learned from the fandom: Find your little corner of the fandom, filled with like-minded people, and try your best to make it a happy place to be. We can all be disappointed by certain canon things and vent our frustrations but I think time in the fandom is better spent celebrating and enjoying things in the chosen media. It’s why I stepped away from Horizon for the last month; I realized I was getting too bogged down with post-Burning Shores negativity and it was all I was talking about. Now after a little cool down, I’m missing Horizon and want to get back into the world and characters I love. Every fandom and every fictional media has its ups and downs; the highs of Horizon are where I like to focus my time and energy. We’re all just geeks excited to take down giant robots with a spear in the end.
14. three tags i seek out on ao3: Hurt/Comfort, Not Unrequited They’re Just Dumbasses, Smut With Feelings
15. a song i strongly associate with my otp/favorite character: I can twist nearly any song to be for my OTP but I’ll go with Better Than Love by Griffin House for Ereloy.
Pretty sure I’ve seen every Horizon person/blog I follow complete this ask but, if anyone was missed, have at it! And steal it for other fandoms too! Consider yourselves tagged, if you’re interested :)

Can you tell us YOUR TOP 3 favorite harry potter couples and why?
This is such a nice question, I love it.
#1 Harry and Ginny
I mean guys are you really surprised here? 98% of my posts will tell you why I love them to death. But I'll give you a little summary.
First, some technical reasons for why I love them. They are just so well crafted into the story. One perfect example of a soulmate's dynamic and it merges together so surprisingly well with Rowling's scientific writing style. I love the way it relies without reservations on subtext, symbolism, and callbacks to famous love stories in literature. I love that they don't really fit into just one specific trope. I love how the fact that their story is from Harry's point of view was used to build them subtly, like this mystery that Harry's brain finally solved in HBP.
Now, about the characters specifically. Harry and Ginny have these two very chaotic lives and personalities and I'm absolutely in love with how they find this peace, this strong sense of belonging in one another. I love that they are equals, I love how gracefully they treat each other. And also how fun they are together.
Harry and Ginny are two people who went through a lot and they are a tad fucked up because of that, so it would have been reasonable for them to have a fucked up relationship. Instead, they give us hands down one of the healthiest portrayals of a romantic relationship that you'll find out there. They love each other so selflessly and there's just this deep acceptance of the other at their complete worst. They are amazing and so criminally underrated.
#2 James and Lily
I've already mentioned this a couple of times... until a few years ago I was really deep into the marauders' fandom so, well the thing is... I have basically the entirety of James and Lily's story (and the rest of the marauders) written in my head.
There's just something about James and Lily that always pulled me in. I mean, come on, the arrogant guy who also happens to have a heart of gold, is super smart, but also an athlete, has charisma to sell, is extremely privileged, and yet fights for who isn't? Paired up with a girl who takes no bullshit but is also incredibly kind? And they are both academically driven? This is so much my jam.
James being desperately in love with her but Lily hating him because she doesn't really know him? But also being pulled to him anyway and refusing to admit it? Come on! Gold, pure gold.
[I really have to do an analysis of Snape's worst memory one of this days]
Plus the symbolism here too. The stag and the doe. They are the parents of the guy who saves the world with the power of love.
I do feel like my characterization of them is different from the one of the current marauders' fandom because I do this very rare thing called "respecting canon".
#3 Ron and Hermione
I have mixed feelings about Hermione and there are some things about this couple that are questionable, like the canaries episode that I will never really forgive Hermione for and the fact that, while Ron's insecurities were his problem, in seven years of friendship Hermione never managed to make him feel secure enough to get over at least his insecurities about her.
But I like reading about them while I read the books, I think it would be very difficult to like this saga without rooting for them. It's undeniable that they love spending time with each other. Hermione spends more time at the Burrow than Harry, with the exception of Christmas of '96. They are best friends, which is a thing that people forget a lot. If we actually look carefully, Ron is closer to Hermione than Harry in friendship terms. I like how Hermione takes notice of Ron's insecurities regarding his family, and how maybe he opened up about them to her. I like how Ron pays attention to what goes on with her and worries about her like in PoA. I love when they co-parent Harry and that they trust each other's opinions on important matters. And even if all their bickering would be exhausting to me, they clearly enjoy it and wouldn't want it in any other way.
I believe there's a rough honesty to them. One that probably wasn't meant to be there, otherwise there would have been some strong acknowledgment of Hermione's flaws from the narrative and not just from Harry and it would've been followed by a deep growth like with Ron. But what I mean to say is that they are very normal. They really are just two best friends in love with each other, who have been in the other one's life for nearly a decade and shaped each other into who they are at the end of the books. And judging by the epilogue they made it work. They are not done with the material appropriate for the main characters of an epic story but they would fit quite nicely as the main characters of one of those books that have the goal of talking about normal people and relationships, without talking about great unbelievable loves (you know like love at first sight, those kinds of things).
I've never had the need to read fanfictions about them though. In a way I already know enough about what happens with them, in another, I don't know enough for my imagination to be stimulated. And the fanfictions that I tried reading were honestly terrible, they are never in character, especially Hermione.

Ooh, thanks for tagging me! :D
Names: I go by Nadir or Siliv on the internet, but fun fact: I share my real name with a famous fictional character, so every time I introduce myself the other person replies "Oh, like *character*?!"
Pronouns: She/her or They/them
Star Sign: Taurus
Siblings: A younger brother!
Pets: Two dogs, three cats, and maybe a fish? He's a Kuhli loach and in true Kuhli nature there are months at a time when we don't see him and have no idea if he's alive or not XD
Fandoms: I have a lot, but the main ones are... Sky: Cotl, Hollow Knight, Genshin Impact (very casually, don't worry), and Cosmere.
Favorite Colors: Any and all shades of green!
Favorite Song: Changes very frequently; I'm hyperfixating on the Colgera battle theme from Tears of the Kingdom right now.
Favorite Author: Brandon Sanderson (Flannigan is great though and surprisingly underrated!)
Hobbies: Gaming, D&D, reading, creative writing, sewing, and miniature dollhouses
Favorite fic type: I honestly don't read much fanfic, but my favorite tropes are found family, whump, and "I can fix him"
Fun Fact: Um... I love to travel and have been to the American southwest, Canada, Japan, Jordan, and Palestine!
Tagging: how about @glacia-posts, @jellyjam, @eclipsefoxart, and anyone else who wants to share! No pressure, tough ^.^

Partners?: Yes! I have a girlfriend (queerplatonic) who I love very much, and a boyfriend (romantic) who I love very much :]
Fun facts:
- Even though I'm a cat person, I really, really want a dog.
- I actually used to play sports. Because I don't do gendered leagues anymore, I don't play, but I've been looking for mixed/gender-neutral/queer sports teams. Baseball and basketball specifically!
- I started questioning my identity in 2019; I'm no closer to finding a label now than I was then. The difference is, now I don't want a label. I just am. :]

Unpopular opinion maybe, but Himiko Toga has got to be one of the most underrated and underappreciated characters in BNHA.
I mean, on one hand, she has this surprisingly vocal hatedom that sees her as nothing more than some freaky yandere and a crudely written hypocrite to boot. However, I'm also talking about good chunks of her fandom. Those that only like her for her cute design and her "yandere" appeal, but never bother to look at what's beyond the surface.
I don't know, it just kinda stings.
First, because Himiko is without a doubt the best-written female character in BNHA. She is the most proactive and plot-relevant out of all of them and has the best character arc and most in-depth backstory.
But also, because her story hit really close to home for me personally. (In fact, way more than the Todoroki subplot did. I'm an only child with rather devoted parents, so… There's that. However, being treated like crap for something that's beyond your control, trying to be "normal" and trying to fit in at all costs since everyone tells you that you need to be "normal" and need to fit in, even if it means suppressing your true self, and then eventually hitting your breaking point because you just can't continue to live a lie like that… Yeah, I can feel that.)
Sometimes, it just feels like Himiko gets way less appreciation and sympathy than Tomura or Dabi, even though her anger and her issues with hero society aren't any less valid than theirs. And I don't think that's fair at all.
#bnha#toga himiko#league of villains#when i still went to school#there used to be a passage on our report cards#in which our class teachers would evaluate our social behavior#and even though they would always commend me for being polite and nice#attentive and diligent and all that stuff#they also never failed to point out that i need to socialize more#and of course my parents would always agree#and tell me to be more outgoing#and i tried#and it led absolutely nowhere#my classmates and me were just too fundamentally different#so at some point i just stopped trying to be the social butterfly everyone wanted me to be#and even though it was kinda lonely#it was also relieving
