"I just really think that you're just sore you didn't think of it first. It was pretty good, but that's fine, you don't have to admit to it. My ego isn't that fragile." She sipped her coffee, though her icy blue eyes watched him diligently over the rim of her cup. "It's working though, isn't it? You're thinking about finding out for yourself how sweet I am..." She was teasing, clearly, but there was a glint in her eyes.

Georgia would start to laugh when he went off on a tangent, words tumbling from his lips one right after the other without giving her a chance to interject or respond. The more he spoke, the more she chuckled, stuffing her face with cake instead so she wouldn't look like she was laughing at him. When he finally stopped, asking to confirm her age, she took a sip from a bottle of water she had near, turning in her chair so she could really look at him. "First of all, rude, you never ask a lady her age. But, I can respect your reason for it, and I appreciate you not wanting to be one of those creepy guys who prey on young girls. I'm 28, turning 29 soon. Do you... want me to grab my ID to show you like we're in line at the club?" Her thumb pointed back over her shoulder, towards the hook on the wall where she kept her purse.

"And if you don't mind, I'd like to answer all of your questions now." Still smirking, Georgia went down the list, even counting down on her fingers each time she acknowledged something he'd said. "It's not a weird trade, it was meant to be a little flirty joke. I don't just claim to know how to bake, I know how to, but if this is your way of egging me on, then it's working because I'm definitely baking for you now. Especially if you're taking me out for dinner. Presumptuous of you to think you'll be invited back into my place after the date though, who do you take me for?" An actual joke, because he would absolutely be invited back inside with her. "And finally, no, I don't have a boyfriend. The last one cheated on me so I had to dump him. That's the rules." She reached for her coffee again, though almost choked on it when he mentioned hardly ever getting a chance to argue at the table. "Ohh hey well if arguing at the table is what you're after, I'm glad to pick a fight. How are you at making up?"

They sipped their coffee quietly for a few moments, enjoying the cake and the time. Kirk shrugged and took another sip. "It's possible. I do like making stupid jokes to get people to chill out and smile. But what kind of self-respecting person would I be if I didn't boo the truly lame ones. I'd expect you to do the same for me."

Then he coughed a little, her offer surprising him. "You'd bake me a cake to shower at your place. I feel like that's a weird trade. What if I shower at my place, take you out to dinner, and then we come back here and eat the delicious cake you claim to know how to make? Unless you have a boyfriend, in which everything will be strictly platonic. Actually, how old are you? That might determine it too, I try not to be a creep most of the time." Kirk said casually. He could tell when someone was into him and he didn't see the point in beating around the bush. If the date was bad, they'd just have to awkwardly wave as they collected their mail. "Ha, not really. I'm sure there are lawyers that do, but I mostly handle contract negotiations. I rarely go up in front of a judge like that. Sometimes if I'm lucky I get to argue at a table!"

COLLAPSE THE TUNNEL AND TELEPORT DIRECTLY INTO HEAVEN. Need to distract the Children of Everlasting Dark? THROW BEEHIVES INTO THEIR HOUSES. Need to perform a diving save into a bottomless pit? TELEPORT DIRECTLY INTO HEAVEN. AGAIN. Need to get on Mt. Gulg but air travel isn’t feasible? GIANT ROBOT. Need a portal to hell? MAKE A DEMON. That doesn’t work? SHOOT A LASER. AT THE MOON. As per usual, it’s DP crossover with (probably) DC, although you could probably adjust it for other fandoms

A little kid and his mother are trick or treating in another city, perhaps at some kind of event rather than knocking on doors, and the kid is dressed as Phantom. It’s very adorable, with his little ghost-shaped bucket and clearly homemade and already stained costume—listen, white only works if you can just fly over street grime or phase it out of your clothes—and his slightly I’ll fitting wig. The kid is SO happy to be out and about dressed as his favorite, and maybe even showed it off to Phantom back in Amity Park before his family left.

The hero, insert whoever you wish here, is probably in civvies and just enjoying the event. The kid, meanwhile, is so glad when people ask who he is so he can explain, and so- the hero gets to hear ALL ABOUT the local town hero who is probably pretty small time despite the kid’s clearly exaggerated stories. The hero certainly never heard of him, but the kid’s mom confirms that Phantom really was the town hero, despite some mixed reviews of the poor guy.

“Did you manage to show him your costume?” the hero asks.

“Yeah! We went down to the cemetery to leave flowers and I got to show him my costume.”

Wait. Cemetery? Maybe it was part of theme, because Phantom had to be named that for a reason, but… it sounded like…

The kid ignores the suddenly VERY still hero and instead turns to his mom. “Momma, do you think we should bring him candy? He doesn’t get to trick or treat like we do, and I can work super hard to get him a bunch!”

The kid’s mom just smiles. “We could, but maybe we should bring him something homemade. I bet he’d like something more filling, teen boys like him have a hollow leg.”

The kid wrinkles his nose. “Like Vernie with the pizza bagels?”

“Like your cousin, yes. We can make some cinnamon rolls and take them to his memorial, maybe bring some of the apples from your grandpa’s garden…”

The hero is pretty much forgotten as the two-part family wanders off, not quite intentionally forgetting the hero is there so much as the hero somewhat accidentally ended the conversation when they just froze and didn’t ask anything further.

Not that the hero didn’t want to. But they’d learn something very serious.

One—there was a small town hero they’d never heard of. Two—that hero was apparently a teen. Third—most pressingly, the teen hero was both beloved enough to have kids dressing up as him and dead enough to have a grave.

This… might require some phone calls.

I was crying from pain at the emergency room and the nurses were bitching about me not dying so they couldn’t help right away even if I kept passing out and had been there for a long time, this sweet old Russian lady who was also admitted since earlier stood up and walked next to me and kept comforting me and asking how I was holding up, she kept checking in on me and being so sweet and going around asking if everyone was doing ok or just distracting family members of patients with nice conversations. She called out the doctors and nurses for not caring, she sat next to me and kept making sure I was ok and then gave me her phone number when she got discharged so I’d follow up with her. Honestly my day coulda been hell today but this one lady made it so bearable it’s not going to be remembered as a bad horrible traumatizing time, I got to meet an actual angel and I’m so happy about it.
