thinking abt kevin tran and how FUCKED everything was for him.

sam winchester is doomed by the narrative because he is the main character and he always got to go through shit but i’ve never seen anyone talk about how kevin tran was also doomed by the narrative due to being a prophet. maybe it’s bc of his actor and his horrible actions — which i do not condone and i feel so horrible for all the victims. but kevin tran as the character is so pitiful and sad yet i see nobody in the spn fandom talk abt it.

jst bc he’s the prophet he is ripped away from his normal life at like fucking 17/18 yrs old ffs his main concern was abt his ap classes 😭😭😭 imagine living almost two decades of normalcy and you’re thrown into this world where you’re being goddamn hunted down by everybody, especially these two scary ass 6 feet middle aged men who knows too much about everything spouting shit about “responsibility.” girl i havent even paid taxes yet!! idk shit abt responsibility!

after being forced into this role of the prophet, kevin literally worked — which is grueling btw transcribing is not easy and we can see it take a toll on him as he continues to work throughout the seasons — himself to the point where the winchesters bought him fucking xanax (i may be wrong here but it was some sort of medication) to calm his anxiety 😭 like ts is NOT okay to give to an undiagnosed teenager. not to mention crowley always looking for him.

the winchester brothers say kevin is family and how much the winchester brothers cared for kevin but they never rlly show it. kevin figured out he was kidnapped by crowley bc fake sam and dean winchester were too nice to him. they were willing to go through some trouble to get him food he wanted despite there being leftovers in the fridge. if i was depending on this poor kid to save the fucking world i’d buy him some barbecue.

i mostly have a gripe with dean’s “pep-talks” he has with kevin too. kevin is rightfully unhappy about these circumstances. he’s allowed to feel fucked and scared and all of these emotions but dean pushes his agenda in kevin’s face. he doesn’t consider the nuances of the situation because dean has never lived a life where he had a choice (which is another conversation) but it’s not okay to make kevin feel like that as well. dean says shit like “oh i expected this wimp to choose the cowards way out” when kevin was literally KIDNAPPED😭 (unbeknownst to dean and sam but i digress it’s understandable he would run away from all of this) after kevin finds out that his mother is alive from crowley, he wants to go out and find her yet dean makes kevin stay once again to serve his agenda of saving the world and shit veiled by claiming kevin was family and crowley has reasons to lie. but after kevin’s death we find out that she was, in fact, alive!!!

kevin could’ve saved his mother from months(?) of torture by a demon yet dean stopped him because of what??

speaking of deans treatment we go over to sam’s treatment of kevin how he jst went AWOL on the poor kid leaving him to hide and live alone for a year despite kevin calling him Numerous times to tell sam that he was alive and Needed help

and i’m not saying that dean and sam doesn’t care abt kevin bc they have said so in many instances and have saved him many times. i jst feel like they weren’t perfectly great to him (honestly i can’t really blame them either) and the narrative has truly fucked kevin over many times.

ESPEICALLY kevin’s death which could’ve been so easily prevented, but it happened because he no longer served a purpose to the narrative. like kevin only got a few episodes where he didn’t serve as a prophet and was allowed to help the winchester brothers in his own way— which he COULD btw. he hacked into the military wifi to help them convince this lady to allow them to investigate the bus.

i also think abt how the show presents kevin. in the beginning it’s the overdone and stereotypical joke of “oh look at the asian kid who wants to go into an ivy and is in a million ap classes” and they never elevate themselves out of that box kevin is put into. not to mention his mother who when introduced the episode name is literally “tiger mommy” which is another asian stereotype that they are pushed into. which is frankly racist and jst not good writing which IK the writers are capable of bc look at sam and dean winchester at certain instances bc sometimes they fuck that up too.

it had been an entire week since you took the test, and that was when the secret started. and you’ve been carrying it around all week, figuring out what to do while you further pushing off telling sami that you were pregnant.

“y/n! i’m home, baby!” you were sitting on the bed, staring at the ceiling. as much as you loved sami, you’d been dreading him getting home, because it reminded you that you would have to tell him sometime. you’d been unintentionally avoiding him lately, and even though you didn’t realize it, he did.

”hey, there you are.” he stood in the doorframe of the bedroom, smiling at you. you noticed there was a little bit of concern in his eyes once he sat down next to you on the bed, and you started to panic as you realized he was very much into you.

“hi sam.” you said in a squeaky whisper. he was facing you while you remained looking at the ceiling. he grabbed your hand and you squeezed it back.

“what’s got you worrying, y/n?” he asked, sounding very genuine and worried. you hated that he felt your anxiety secondhand. you started crying, wiping away the first tear before it rolled down your face.

“well… sami…” you stuttered in between long pauses of trying to figure out what to say. and he was so patient. “i do have to tell you something.” you finally turned and looked him in his pretty, sad blue eyes. it was very hard to refrain from sobbing once you did.

“i’m gonna have a baby…” you whispered, not knowing how quiet your voice was. his face instantly relaxed and he even seemed to smile the littlest bit. he moved stray strands of hair from your face and held your cheek delicately.

“really?” he smiled a little wider. your head dropped and you started to cry again. “baby, why are you crying?” he became worried again at your state. you shook your head slowly.

“i t-thought you were gonna leave me.” you confessed, sniffling. he waited a short second before pulling you to him and putting his arms around you as you continued to cry. he kissed your head repeatedly and responded calmly,

“i would never ever leave you. i love you.” he explained clearly. you smiled against him, still breathing heavily after the tears begin to dry. you looked back up at him, a loving smile on his face while he kissed away the remaining tears. “i’ll never leave you.” he repeated, foreheads now pressed together. he kept holding you as your heart steadied and you felt you could breathe again.

“i love you sami.”

“i love you so, so much, y/n.”

he asked if you felt alright, if you needed anything or if there was anything he could do for you. you laid with him, and understood that he was actually pretty damn happy about the whole situation. he wouldn’t stop talking about it for days, and he was excited to tell the rest of the band and literally anyone else who could hear him. he would lay with you with his head on your chest and a hand placed gently on your tummy, smiling to himself and thinking about what was yet to come.

thinking abt this post and how apocalypse world SUCKED and someone in the replies said it’s coz they focused on the wrong characters and thinking ok so this is a world where dean and sam never existed right?? so it would be More Interesting to have like a full season arc where THEY are stuck in this world and how it changes because of them. also would make for interesting dynamics. having them form new relationships with “old faces” who never knew them. instead of the weird dynamic of acting like the old faces are the og characters 2.0 like, show them making new and different relationships with these characters. 

this is all taking place in s13 btw. so like, cas just died and instead of mary getting stuck there, it’s dean and sam. Mary then is left behind with all the bodies and with BABY jack (he can pull a twilight renesmee and rapidly age in a few eps) but i think, mary who lost her babies, mary who struggled so hard when she first came back, would benefit from having a little baby to take care of for a while. anyways, so mary’s plot will revolve around working through her grief and mother feelings and also enlisting help from others (maybe crowley didn’t die this time) to help get the boys back. 

meanwhile, dean is losing his mind with grief because cas just DIED in front of him and now he can’t even properly burn his body and put him to rest AND he’s stuck in this alternate world where michael the arc angel is gunning for his ass AND lucifer is there AND everything sucks. but okay, he’s hopped up on adrenaline and they’ve got work to do so he manages to stow his shit for a bit. then, they cross paths with AU!cas and he’s NOT like the weirdo one from canon ok. he’s more, numb. like when cas was under naomi’s control. he’s following orders. he’s obedient. this is a cas who never met dean, never rebelled. never was changed by dean. and dean is SO desperate to have cas back, any version of cas, so, he focuses on getting through to this cas. maybe he taken prisoner or something and cas is tasked to guard “the michael sword” and during that time....dean talks. he talks to cas and tells him about humanity and tells him why humanity matters, why it’s worth saving. he tells him about his cas and everything they went through together. and slowly, cas thaws and he starts to listen and he becomes captivated by this bright soul. and when michael comes for his sword, cas rebels for dean once more. he helps dean escape, the two of them on the run from angels. they meet back up with sam and the others and cas fights on their side. michael and lucifer are coming. sam and the others say a portal’s opened up not too far from camp but they gotta get moving. 

by this point, jack has aged up AND gotten OG cas out of the empty AND opened a portal to apocalypse world and so when dean, AU!cas, sam and the others get to the portal there’s mary, crowley, gabriel, jack and......cas. dean is weak in the knees and they collapse into each other, holding on for so long, but then michael and lucifer are there. The others scramble to get through the portal, rowena helping them from the other side. dean is torn, he looks back (ohh the look back!) and tells AU!cas to come with them and AU!cas looks back sadly, looks at where dean and cas’s hands are clasped together and shakes his head, tells him there’s no place for him back in that world and to go. but before they can get through the portal, michael is there and he’s NOT going to lose his sword again. so AU!cas does the only thing he can to buy them those last few moments they need to get away, he steps in front of michael and takes his blade to the chest. and dean’s screaming, because another cas just died for him and then he’s being pulled through the portal by his cas and falling to his knees, burying his face in cas’s stomach as cas cards through his hair, just crying and mourning and also feeling so damn grateful that his cas is alive. anyways this is how the s13 apocalypse world plot could’ve been good

We dont know Alexis. In canon, we’ve never seen her, never heard her, never spoken to her. We only know of her through the eyes of Vincent and Sam, and absolutely NOTHING about her is positive.

- Instead of trying to make him understand why she did it, she stop trying to talk to him when she learned she couldnt invoke him

We KNOW both sides of the story, we’ve seen his manipulation and softer side, and we know he has depth to him.

Do we know why Blake has Sunshine trapped in the basement? Yes. Do we like it? Of course not! Are we supporting it? Hell no.

But then we see how he is with Dreamer and we change, because we see how soft he behaves, how his demeanor changes around them, how his “motives” seem more “justifiable” (for lack of a better term)

Alexis has no sort of depth to her, and until she does, why should we like her? We physically have no reason other than “She MIGHT’VE changed”

But I finished season 3 of blood and water in like 2 days, which is very quick for me. And I have so many thoughts, mostly related to the side plots. I actually really appreciate how many side plots there are. Soooo yea, spoilers ahead, sorry idk how to do the cutoff thing.

1. I ship Tahira and Leigh-Anne. If not as a couple then as close friends. I will write fic as I wait for season 4.

2. Where was Zama 🥲 I loved her character so much, and I wanna know more about herrr

3. Chris really has abandonment issues huh? First from his parents, then Wendy, plus he doesn't feel like he deserves her so he does all this nastiness

4. A not comprehensive list of people I have simped for this season: Wendy, Leigh-Anne, Fikile, Thandeka, Bruce (I'm sorry yall I'm a villain stan at heart), Puleng, Reece, Lisbeth, Sam

5. Maybe it's just not normal to me because I'm not South African, but it's really interesting how everyone is like trilingual. I mean I'm used to people mixing English and patois here, but like, I've heard Zulu, Afrikaans, Xhosa, Tswana, probably more that I don't remember, and as a person who loves languages that's really nice.

6. The parental relationships have been really wholesome this season, especially Wade and his mom, I really love how even though she's like the super strict school principal, Wade can still talk to her abt embarrassing stuff like that scene where he was hidden under the sheet. And I like how Puleng's relationship with her mom improved, although she wasn't exactly there for a while due to being kidnapped. And I really like Brian and Fiks' relationship even after he knew she wasn't his bio kid. KB and Chris just built different 💀

7. Sam has just gotten shot after shot after shot this entire show, mans cannot catch a break. Let Sam have his soft life era in the next season please 😭

8. I love how I'm assuming there's a next season because Netflix has a way of cancelling all my favourite shows, country queen season 2 I am waiting for you

9. It's really nice to see that homophobia isn't a huge problem for the characters

10. All now it has not fully hit me that Nwabisa is dead. I thought Lisbeth was just saying stuff literally until she told Fikile that night at KB's house. Oh and Mr Khumalo as well, it is just...wow

hate this site i went on a tangent abt ships and it didnt save some of it cuz apparently there is a tag limit. so i am going to re-write my tangent onto this post bc yes

i also rlly like abby x sam x seb from stardew bc i think their dynamic is cute. they would make an awesome band too & i would totally go to all their concerts. tho i think sam would get insecure abt abby and seb being like, the “main” couple and he’s like a +1, but whenever he does that abby and seb shower him with adoration and love bc they love him just as much!!!! and he deserves the world. also i just love abby. like abby was my first love in stardew and she holds a special place in my heart. she deserves everything ever. also, another trio i like is vamp x spark x herb. mint isnt included cuz he has cocoa and hes basically their token straight friend lmaooo. but i love their dynamic as a trio. spark is the only braincell in the group, vamp is a lazy idiot who does whatever he thinks will be funny, and herb is the cutie whos secretly batshit insane (see: his love for a carnivorous plant, which also tries to eat vamp whenever he comes near). i think herb and vamp def dont get along at first but then the more they hang out w the gang, they slowly warm up to each other and eventually come to rlly love each other. in the early days spark is def a mediator for them tho, like as a bartender he’s seen everything and he’s great at stopping fights and calming ppl down for sure. mint is like, similar to spark bc he has the only other braincell. also him and spark are the most normal in the group. i think they prob talk about normal adult things while vamp and herb just go buckwild in the bg. oh yea i think vamp would eventually convince herb to try drinking and when herb gets drunk (very fast bc hes a lightweight since he doesnt drink often) he just gets More insane. just like. idk how to describe it. but drunk herb + vamp would for sure try to do crazy ass stunts and they have a like “ill do it if u do it” dynamic which ends with both of them being hospitalised or something.

yes you do. its in every episode in season 1 honestly. its in the episode you're fucking talking about and the LAST one you praise so much and brushed over

before getting ghost powers danny's room was regularly clean and he studied and never missed curfew. he was never an over achiever like jaz but he did well enough for it to not be concerning. he made time and tried. he did his chores. he was a good kid. and then after getting ghost powers he's regularly missing curfew (he's 14 btw its not great he's out PAST 10 pm. esp on school nights), his grades are slipping dramatically, he's being closed off and shady, he isn't talking to his parents about anything, he's coming home with bruises, and he's acting out of character by being more argumentative and avoidant, he isn't keeping up with his responsibilities at home like regular chores. sam's parents dont want her hanging out with danny anymore because she's always out late with him and acting strangely too while danny's behavior has gotten notable in the community and his grades are slipping. his friends are stonewalling all information about him to his parents and sister too which only makes it even more sketchy seeming.

WE the audience know its bc he's got ghost powers and is fighting other ghosts but get real for a second, why would anyone, even GHOST HUNTER PARENTS, think their son has become half ghost and is fighting other ghosts as a superhero? most parents are going to think their 14 year old has something wrong with him. that he's in the wrong crowd or he's being bullied at school or is experiencing abuse of some kind. "well why don't his parents look into it more" they want to??? his mom tries to deliberately. but with kids in difficult situations pushing too hard can push them away. like we see with jaz. in the episode "my brother's keeper" it literally lampshades this with danny going "maybe several years from now i'll appreciate this but right now i dont".

they take danny with them to the college reunion not because theyre crazy and stupid but because they want to connect with danny more. they think maybe he's acting out of character bc he's going through a rebellious phase. jaz says they dont talk to him abt what they did when they were younger and they're like "you're right, we're just acting like stick in the mud parents who don't remember what it was like to be teenagers or young adults. why dont we take a family trip, get out of town together, and you can learn more about us and our lives before we were boring parents and see that we're doing this because we care about you"

danny's parents arent perfect. they are often neglectful and too focused on their work in ways that are disastrous (they should NOT have given either kids access to the basement. period.) but they do try. they try a lot. they love their kids and want to be there for them and try to help them. danny's behavior IS shown and it IS concerning.

i wish i didnt have the autism where i cant fucking stand ppl being wrong abt shit that doesnt matter. it makes me so angry i cannot fucking function. "let people be wrong" why dont you just shoot me at point blank range

what i thought about fear street  1666 (TW! Spoilers)

I loved the 1666, but the 1978 is still the best. Besides, a quick question, I don't know if I didn't get everything right because I only watched 1666 twice so far, but if Nick had already delivered the current generation's serial killer (Ryan Torres), why did he name Sam? because you see, Ziggy wasn't possessed, she of course lived scared to death, traumatized and all, but she didn't become a serial killer, her name didn't end in the cave rocks, after all, she was “free”. Why Nick would conjure Sam's name so early when no one would question after Kate and Simon died and took the blame from everything that happened? Why send a note saying "it's happening again" to Christine when he was the reason it was happening? Other than that, Nick didn't deliver much as a villain lol. I don't think it's the actor because he was well as a Soloman, I think it's because we don't see his villainization(is that a word?)? Like, I've been suspicious of him since 1994, but it doesn't show him being actively evil in any of the movies, just that scene of him conjuring the names and the ending a few minutes before his death with Deena, but I couldn't worry or be scared, you know? I expected him to try to justify himself or something until the cave scene, I didn't feel vilification(again, is that a word?) in the character and i think I should because he's literally responsible for everyone's deaths, he’s the big bad wolf, the true monster under the bed.From 1994 to 1666 I could guess he was shady af but it gave me more “anti hero thats gonna sacrifice himself in the end/// doesn’t want to be a part of this////is a puppet and has no idea what’s actually going on” and what I got was “Good is Evil or whatever” like even when he was talking abt his family, which wasn’t much he should have talked about that, his character should have appeared more, I think it would have been nice if maybe a moralization of the character in that scene where he's chasing Deena, like "Oh, my family has been doing this for years, my brother and mother are important to me, my blood is sealed to the devil since I was a baby Sunnyvale's safety is the most important thing, I do this for peace" very lunatic and a tyrannical even, wich does not in any way justify his actions, but who adds content to him as a villain, especially in a trilogy that had two great movies with horrifying killers and deaths. It just fell flat to me, for the big bad guy to barely even have good action, scarry scenes. 

Even his relationship with Ziggy was a bit thrown, the importance he gave her was there for no particular reason, just to make the audience think he's nice and in love and surprise us in the end, which didn't work and it's a tactic I hate, the old trick of wanting to outsmart the audience, something Gossip Girl, Game of Thrones and Pretty Little Liars made me completely despise. I 1000000% prefer a structured and predictable outcome than something that will blow my mind for its lack of sense and meaning. ALSO I wouldnt be bothered if Nick was just evil to the core with no debpt whatsoever. Hell, most Sunnyvalers are! But the thing is that, by trying to outsmart the audience and try to lead us into believing Nick is a good guy, the writer (s) ruled that possibility out. You show him puking at seeing kids dying, him confessing how he didn’t want the “Goode” burden to fall of his back but he had no choice, putting Ziggy’s life over his well being, bringing Christine back to life, warning her about the monsters he’s sending to her town and even showing emotion when seeing her after a long time. NOTHING I said would make Nick any less of a monster who should rot in hell, but it clearly shows several colors and divergency on his way of thinking. And like I said, the writers could have given us evil Nick that played Ziggy’s heart and the entire Shadyside, but it doesn’t add up with all of that, at the same time all of that also don’t add up with the Nick we saw on 1666. If this movies were shot in different periods of time and not at once like it was I would say it was because the writers didn’t know who the bad guy truly was.

I won’t get into this, but someone important should’ve died. Like, bring the nurse back to avenge her daughter. Kill Ziggy (the idea of sacrificing Ziggy and Nick at the end ugh the waste). Kill somebody. This is a horror movie, nobody died. Yall could kill black and asian extras. Yall killed my sister Cindy, but couldn’t kill Ziggy? It made sense, she’d reunite with her sister! 

Anyway, I know it sounded like I hated the movie but I REALLY LOVED IT. The actors were all great, the chemistry was there, and although I wish we’d seen more of Sam than just her “ghrghrghrhr” until the very end, I loved how both queer main characters were alive in the end, and how they paid respect for Kate and Simon and how Sara was considered the very first Shadysider (although it was pastor Miller sksks). I loved seeing Simon and Kate’s face there again although it wasn’t really them. I loved that Sarah wasn’t the big bad wolf although I saw it coming and would love to see female rage (like that scene where she was like “If they want a witch, they’ll get a witch gave me chills) but like I said, I prefer prediction than disappointment and I wasn’t (disappointed)with that. 

THE END SCENE GOT ME EXCITED I HOPE THEY MAKE MORE OF THOSE BUT AT A DIFFERENT TIME SINCE LIKE THE BOOK WAS STOLEN. Also Cindy is my favorite character she legit showed up on flashbacks once and I cried.

My ranking, for now:

1. fear street 1978 (the best 2021 movie i fear i watched the entire week and made everyone i know watch it too)

2. fear street 1994

3. fear street 1666

i dont this there’s any bad movie on this trilogy btw. all great.
