#she would talk down the kidnappers to death
Note
Seiko is good with a sword and Kimiko's got fire-powered martial arts, can Keiko fight?
Well, I would say she's the least skilled in that area. She can start a fight, sure (especially in the younger days). She took some self-defense classes because Seiko would not let her be.
' The world is a dangerous place you should learn how to deal with such situations' - Seiko would reprimand her friend.
'Lol that's what pepper spray is for!' - Keiko would brush off the topic, grinning and pointing at the spray hidden in the lipstick-like object.
Seiko is just worried, so every Keiko's 'later' makes her angrier. She often reminds her 'life isn't like in totally spies and she can't depend on funky gadgets all the time' So, Keiko finally agrees to learn some basic self-defense tactics. The Internet turned out to be more effective than the real instructor tbh.
However, Keiko is not good with a combat strategy like Kimiko and Seiko. She often freaks out and focuses more on getting OUT of the situation rather than fighting. She knows where to punch and kick, but then she runs away, which is understandable.
She's not a fighter type but she surely serves as a great distraction. It adds to the team dynamics! She infodumps the enemy so Seiko and Kimiko would handle the rest. Keiko's role depends more on the 'I'll survive if I'll keep talking' attitude. After all, not only fighting skills are crucial - you have to have wit and know how to manipulate your foes! That's Keiko's department.
The guy who keeps her prisoner is rather obese and eats yet another hamburger? 'Sir I'm very worried about your health' and then she enumerates how it would cause heart diseases etc. She's pretty knowledgeable for her age - that's the only advantage of staying up late at night reading unrelated fun facts from any scientific field. Such an action would make the guard totally frightened and we know if someone's in distress - the easier it is to defeat him.
Keiko's the brain of any operation while Seiko and Kimiko are the muscles' - to wrap things up with a funny digression.

Okay before i say my request can i be your 🐚 anon ??? that's all i ask in terms of that BUT:
hear me out- so spencer reid x bau!fem!sunshine!reader gets kidnapped outside of work and her kidnapper tortures her and the works, but the worst part is he has a live feed directed for the bau so they just have to watch the poor girl get borderline killed but she's still fighting back and so eventually he turns the feed off and they go to the unsub once they find his location but before they burst the door down they hear the reader like genuinely begging for him to just kill her and it's GUT WRENCHING. then they get him and she free and she's immediately back to her bubbly self until randomly she like shows up at his door and spence tells her it's okay to not be okay and she just breaks down RAGHHHH
i'm so sorry for writing you an essay but I got the idea and simply couldn't let it go to waste 😭
-🐚 (i hope if that's okay with you???)

epiphany - a moment of sudden revelation or insight.
Tumblr media
before
The horrified look on Garcia’s face couldn’t possibly be a good sign, “Uh, sir,” she addressed Hotch, “I’m being sent an encrypted link from an admin on the UnSub’s site.”
Responding with a stiff nod, Hotch looked toward the screen in the roundtable room, “Open it.”
Each team member had an instant reaction to the image projected onto the large screen. JJ had covered her mouth with her hands, Morgan had to peel his eyes away from the screen, and Spencer couldn’t get himself to do the same thing. Despite his better judgment, he kept his eyes on the screen.
“He’s killing her,” Emily observed, watching with a horrified expression as the UnSub hand his hands around your throat. You were dangling from the ceiling by your bound hands, leaving you flailing as your body begged for air.
Hotch leaned intensely over Garcia’s shoulder, “Is this live?” He asked, voice raising ever so slightly as he watched the tech analyst’s fingers work nimbly across her keyboard. As she nodded, he continued, “Can you find where he’s streaming this from?”
Parting her lips, a determined look settled on the blonde’s face as she continued to type, “It looks like he’s running it through a boatload of different proxies – it’s gonna take me a minute.”
Rossi shook his head, leaning over the roundtable, “She might not have that long.” It was the truth, a harsh truth, but the truth, nonetheless.
It had been one minute and thirty-seven seconds already, brain death would occur after four minutes, maybe five if you were lucky. Spencer didn’t want to have to take that chance. “Oh god,” Penelope cried, working through the tears that had started to stream down her face, “Okay, she’s in this general area.”
“Keep going,” Hotch ordered succinctly. “Everyone else, look at the picture. Is anything recognizable about the background?”
The lighting was dim at best, which didn’t leave the team with a lot to work with while they studied your surroundings. At one point, your attacker shouted, and Spencer’s attention moved back to you.
In the midst of your struggle, you had managed to strike him between the legs, sending him stumbling away from you, shouting expletives as space was put between the two of you. The BAU took a collective breath as they listened to you breathe, spluttering as the UnSub regained his composure. “Do you see that? The ridges in the wall?” Derek said, using his index finger to point to what he was talking about.
“It looks like a storage container,” Emily replied, furrowing her brows as she comprehended what Morgan was talking about.
Wholly focused on you, Spencer watched as the UnSub got in your face, screaming horrible words at you until you spit in his face. He swung at you, causing your face to turn with a nauseating smack until your head lolled forward and you stopped moving.
Still typing, Penelope spoke up, “Got it! Sending the address to your phones now.”
Tumblr media
during
There was a maze of storage containers at the port, and so far, you had turned up in none of them. “Shh, wait,” Emily hissed, “Do you guys hear that?” She asked, looking over each of her shoulders, ears perked up like a bloodhound.
Straining his ears, Spencer straightened up, lowering his firearm as he focused on listening to the world around him, waiting for whatever Emily was talking about.
“Just fucking do it!” Your voice reverberated off of the surface of the numerous shipping containers. Spencer found himself torn as he knew you were alive but recognized the fear and anger in your voice. The pain as you screamed nearly stopped him in his tracks, but he found himself trudging forward.
Following closely behind Morgan, they stopped for a moment, trying to determine which direction you would be found in. Your shouts rang out into the pitch black of the night, “Stop being a coward and pull the fucking trigger!”
His steps faltered, leaving JJ stumbling into his back. “Reid,” she whispered, prompting him to shake himself out of his surprised state and continue moving. You didn’t know what you were saying, he tried to convince himself.
You couldn’t see the camera the same way he had seen it so many years ago, kidnapped and drugged against his will and hoping the team would understand the clues disguised as conversation. He had been taken from an UnSub’s property, and your apartment had been broken into – the only thing taken had been you.
It wasn’t an unfamiliar fear in the BAU, worrying about an UnSub breaking into your home, but you weren’t targeted because of your work in the bureau. You had been targeted because you fit the victim pattern.
If he never had to see the word “missing” under your face again, it would be too soon.
“Please,” you begged. “Please just kill me. Just let me die. I don’t want to do it anymore,” your voice started to grow quieter, but the team could still hear you – they were getting closer.
Emily and Morgan went to one side of the doors, leaving Spencer and JJ on the other side – Rossi and Hotch were elsewhere on the property, waiting with first responders and calling the shots via comms.
A small whimper came from the container at the same time as the click of a gun cocking. “Just pull it,” you pleaded weakly. “It’ll be so easy for you. It’ll be so much easier with me dead,” you informed him despondently.
“FBI!” Morgan called out, pulling the heavy metal doors of the container open, revealing the four FBI agents with their vests on, guns raised.
Just like it had happened in an action film, Spencer watched as the UnSub moved his hand to the trigger of his weapon. Your eyes were closed, tears streaming through the dirt that was caked on your face. Without a second thought, Spencer pulled the trigger on his firearm, sending a bullet through the UnSub’s temple before he could have the chance to kill you.
Emily went over to the body, gingerly picking up the weapon and disengaging it while looking over to you. Spencer was knelt in front of you, debating whether or not he should touch you before he decided on speaking to you first, “Y/N?” His voice was no more than a whisper as he expected your eyes to open, but they didn’t.
“His pocket,” you rasped, your traumatized vocal cords straining on every word.
Spencer hummed, “What about them, love?” He kept his voice gentle, watching you as you squeezed your eyes shut.
Sniffling, you hung your head low, “Keys,” you mumbled helplessly, unable to speak more than you already were, each word only drained you of energy you didn’t have in the first place.
Understanding, JJ crouched next to the stiff body of the UnSub and fished a keyring out of his pants pocket, handing them to Spencer.
With shaky hands, the third key unlocked the handcuffs around your wrists, and your body slumped forward, practically falling into Spencer as he tenderly wrapped his arms around your torso, “I’ve got you,” he reassured you.
It wasn’t until you were sat in the back of an ambulance that anyone got a good look at you. There was a fine layer of grime coating your skin, causing it to look at least one shade darker than it normally was, but what concerned Spencer the most was the petechiae of your eyes. The burst blood vessels were a direct result of his hands around your throat.
The paramedics looked over you despite your protests. It was non-negotiable, and that instruction came from Hotch. The strangest part of it was that you were continuously trying to wave off concern, insisting you were fine, kicking your legs off the edge of the rig while the female paramedic looked at the bruising on your cheek. “It might be a fractured ZMA, she’ll need a CT to confirm,” she continued to list even more ailments, including potential internal bleeding and extensive damage to your throat. The swelling in your neck was beginning to catch up with you, affecting your ability to talk.
Spencer rode with you in the ambulance, holding your hand while you told him, “I knew you’d find me. I never gave up.”
I don’t want to do it anymore, your pleas for the UnSub to end your life rang in his head, he’d never forget hearing you say that, and you didn’t even know he heard you.
He didn’t have any good answers for anyone while you were getting a CT. By the time you returned from surgery to repair your fractured cheekbone, he shut the door to your room, sequestering the two of you into your own little world.
The bruising around your neck had already begun to darken, and by this time tomorrow, your throat would likely be a sickening reflection of what had happened to you. Your doctor had elected to leave you intubated because they were afraid of the swelling affecting your ability to breathe.
There was nothing for him to do, nothing except sit at your bedside and hold your hand, skimming the pad of his thumb across your bloodied knuckles.
Tumblr media
after
You were skipping - well, maybe the step pattern wasn’t technically a skip.
Spencer watched as you waltzed into the bullpen with far too much pep in your step. “I didn’t know you were coming back today,” Morgan said, being the first to greet you once you passed through the glass doors.
Waving a hand in the air, you shrugged, “I have to pass a final psych eval with Hotch, but then I’m all set to be back next week.” You were grinning as you embraced your friend, but over your shoulder, Derek sent Spencer an inquiring look. Asking a silent question that Spencer himself didn’t even know the answer to.
What was going on with you? Four weeks ago, you had been struggling to stand after being beaten within an inch of your life, and ever since, you had been nothing but smiles.
Before you could settle into the hug, you pulled away, placing your hands on Derek’s shoulders, and holding him at arm’s length. Approximately the same distance you had kept Spencer at for the past month.
As you passed behind Spencer’s desk, you left a featherlight touch on the top of his head before continuing your way up to Hotch’s office, smiling as you passed the roundtable room. The same room where the team had watched your torture as it was live-streamed to them.
“Is she..?” Emily started to ask the question on everyone’s minds, but the major issue was that no one quite knew what the question was. Had you finally cracked? Were you okay? He wasn’t sure, and it was starting to eat at him.
The only thing they could do was watch as you greeted Hotch with a chirp, entering his office and firmly closing the door behind you.
Tumblr media
epiphany
The knock on his door was the first thing to pull his attention away from his book since he got home from Quantico. Looking down at the inside of his wrist, he frowned at the time – just past midnight.
Still, he peeled himself up off of the couch before making his way to the front door, peering out of the peephole just to see you on the other side.
Slowly, Spencer set the book on his entryway table and undid the lock and deadbolt to his apartment, swinging the heavy wooden door open to reveal his girlfriend. You were donning flannel pajama pants, not unlike the ones he had on, and an old college t-shirt. There was a crumpled-up piece of paper in your hand, but he couldn’t make out any of the words on it.
“Are you alright?” Spencer asked, the question slipping easily off his tongue. He didn’t wait for the answer, ushering you inside his apartment and toward the couch. He redid the locks on the front door before joining you on the supple leather.
You furrowed your brows, staring at the piece of paper in your lap, “I failed.”
Leaning over your shoulder curiously, Spencer looked at the piece of paper, quickly recognizing it as your psychological evaluation. He read over what he could see, noting the words “deflection” and “coping mechanism.”
“You haven’t been sleeping,” he observed aloud. You must’ve been wearing makeup this morning when you came to the BAU because now he could see the clearly defined dark circles under your eyes. He hadn’t seen you much over the past month, though it wasn’t for lack of trying. Spencer had spent many days sitting outside of your apartment, waiting for you to let him in. He didn’t dare use his spare key, it felt like an invasion of your privacy.
Turning to meet his eyes, you shrugged helplessly, “I haven’t been tired. I mean – I’m… I’m fine.”
Nodding gently, “That’s a deflection. You’re telling me that you’re fine when I can clearly see that you aren’t.”
Your lips parted in apprehension while he read you like an open book. “I’m exhausted,” you admitted, tearing little pieces off of your evaluation form as you grew anxious. “I get into bed, and I can’t sleep, I can’t convince myself to close my eyes,” you elaborated, watching as Spencer reached out and took the paper from you, setting it on the coffee table.
“Have you talked to anyone?” Spencer asked, tentatively taking your hand in his.
Humming, you leaned back on the couch cushions, “Like my mandated FBI therapist? No, I don’t really talk to him much. I’ve started pretending we’re having a staring contest. I usually win, but that’s probably because he has no idea that we’re playing.”
Raising his eyebrows, Spencer inclined his head toward you, “You’re doing it again.”
You clamped your lips shut, shifting on the couch so that you could withdraw your hand from his and sit on your hands. “I don’t do this very well, huh? Talking about the bad stuff,” you murmured to Spencer, looking over at him. “I hate the bad stuff,” you informed him.
“But we have to talk about it eventually, sweetheart. You can’t keep all of that inside,” he told you, moving over on the couch, closer to where you were seated.
Shaking your head, you pulled your knees up to your chest, and Spencer recognized that you were trying to make yourself seem as small as possible. The UnSub had made you feel small – another reason that Spencer had to hate him. “I wish I was her again,” you whispered, a tinge of fear entering your voice.
“You want to be who again?”
Looking over at Spencer, you sighed, “The me that I was before. I want to feel good and happy and perfect and free,” you spoke earnestly.
He gave you an understanding smile, pulling at your hands so that he could hold them in his own, “Nobody expects you to be perfect right now.”
You closed your eyes, “but I want to be her again.” Small tears started to stream down your cheeks while you mourned the previous version of yourself.
“I know,” Spencer reassured you. “I know you do, but if you can’t quite get to her, I’ll still be here for the you that you are now,” he said, welcoming you with open arms as you began to lean into him. “It wouldn’t have been easier,” he murmured into your hair.
Humming, you grew content in Spencer’s arms, the only place he had wanted you over the past month. “What wouldn’t have been easier?”
Ever so slightly, Spencer tightened his grip around you, “If you had died. It wouldn’t have been easier for anyone. I know it felt like that at the time-“
“You heard that?” You asked, horrified at the thought of Spencer and everyone else hearing what you had thought were your last words.
Nodding, Spencer hummed a confirmation. “I can’t stop thinking about it, and I just needed to tell you that I understand. I don’t want you to feel guilty about what you said, and I don’t want you to feel like you need to regret it. You needed a way out, and that was the one you saw,” he told you.
You were silent for an eerie amount of time, without being able to see your face, Spencer was afraid that he had misread the entire situation. “Thank you,” you whispered, straightening up and looking over at him, bleary eyes meeting his. “I’m just… thank you,” you whispered reaching out for him, embracing him as your tears sept through the fabric of his t-shirt.
The both of you stayed like that for a while, your body was tucked into his side as his fingers lazily trailed up and down your back. “Did you want to try to get some sleep?”
You lifted your head, resting your chin on his chest, “Can I stay here?”
Frowning, Spencer cocked his head to the side, “Yes, isn’t that what I just asked?” Maybe it was more of an implication, but he felt it was fairly straightforward.
“I mean, can I stay here for a while? Maybe for a couple of days?” You asked, pressing your lips together nervously.
Moving his head forward, he pressed a soft kiss to your forehead, “You can stay here for as long as you want to.”

Neuvillette x Furina - I’d come for you. No matter what, when you need me, I will be there.
The news hits Fontaine like a drop of rain across a still pond.
Furina is gone.
It ripples out from the point of impact in waves.
Furina is missing.
It provides only a second of warning, enough time for people to look up and wonder, before the rest of the rain falls.
Furina has been kidnapped.
The sudden deluge appears from nowhere, pedestrians quickly flee for shelter and vainly attempt to shield themselves from the heavy drops of rain that pelt the land below as if in punishment. In his manmade lair of marble and glass the Hydro Sovereign feels five hundred years of control snap.
Had Focalors known what she was doing when she returned his power? Had she known what it would unlock inside him? Emotions, once dull and frustratingly out of reach, now howl in his breast. Neuvillette snarls and feels fangs in his mouth. There is no hiding from the vortex of rage and fear that consumes him, he embraces it.
He has to find her. He must find her. He needs to see her stand before him unharmed and unfazed, smiling excitedly as she talks about the new dish she is attempting to master.
The fools who have done this do not know what they have unleashed, what now hunts them with unwavering focus. People uneasily watch from the sides of the great lake as its waters swell and churn, mirroring the mood of the enraged dragon.
If Furina has been hurt they will wish the prophecy had taken them.
Messages are sent out, officers are given tasks, and Neuvillette clamps down on the growing need to walk out the Palais doors and start hunting by himself. Patience, he reminds himself. He needs more information, the sort that only comes from human networks and investigation.
Clorinde eyes him with uncertainty as she reports back, seeing the promise of savagery that lurks beneath his human guise. Neuvillette does not try to hide it. His claws scrape across the grand wooden desk of his office as she tells him of the group of rogue scientists from the Fontaine Research Institute who had sought to experiment with Primordial Sea water. Their proposals had been soundly rejected by the Institute so they had left to look for other opportunities and had come across the news of the only Hydro vision bearer who could control the dangerous substance.
Clorinde does not look away as she relays this to him nor does she flinch when the arm of his chair splinters under the force of his grip. There is a satisfied tightness in her eyes as she stands before him having just condemned these men to death.
Neuvillette enters their hideout alone.
He ignores the concerns from the Melusines and the Gardes. It is misplaced. He does not bring them with him not because he doubts their abilities, but because he will not be able to ensure their safety once he steps foot inside the wretched hole in the ground. His power simmers in his veins ready to be called upon, to obliterate anyone who has dared lay a hand on Furina, and he cannot guarantee that any assistance would be caught in the crossfire.
This is where they have kept her? A rotting network of pipes and caves that reeks of chemicals which sting his nose.
Unforgivable.
The first sinner kidnapper that he sees dies without uttering a word, merely gargles as water in the air starts to condense rapidly in his mouth and lungs.
This is no trial. No arguments. No evidence.
They have dared to put their hands on Furina; the woman who holds the heart of the Hydro dragon in her hands, the woman who could command him to drown a thousand nations for her and he would do so gladly, the woman who never would because kindness is an intrinsic part of her very soul.
Everyone in this pathetic shelter has already received their final judgment and all that remains is for Neuvillette to carry out the sentence.
Corridor after corridor passes in a blur of yells and the crushing force of his power. With each step his panic rises. Not here. Not here. He hasn’t found her yet. She isn’t safe.
What if-
He rounds a corner and is met with the most beautiful pair of mismatched eyes looking at him from behind the raised hilt of a sword. The fight leaves him instantly and he almost staggers towards her.
Furina lowers her blade at the sight of him. Her familiars float around her, searching left and right for enemies, Mademoiselle Crabaletta snaps a claw in his direction.
“Neuvillette? How did you….What are you…” She stutters, before her eyes widen. “Is that blood?! Are you alright?” She steps closer to him, hands waving wildly as she frets over the red splotch on his coat. Normally he would listen intently to her every word but not at this moment. Not when a wave of relief crashes over him with the force of a tsunami.
She is here.
She is alive.
He sees the tear in her coat and shirt, the telltale bruises around her wrists that could only have come from chains, and part of him wants to continue through the base and rip apart the ones responsible. The rest of him doesn’t want to leave her side.
“Are you listening to me?” Furina asks, waving a hand in front of his unblinking eyes. “I think I made it about halfway up before they noticed I escaped and I think one of them raised the alarm. I mean I didn’t expect you to come but we should-”
“Why?” Neuvillette asks hoarsely. “Why did you not think I would come for you?”
Furina startles at the interruption, before dropping her gaze to the floor. Her body language shifts from a battle ready stance to something smaller, weaker. It conjures fresh memories of a fateful trial and a broken woman sitting silently on her throne.
“W-Well, I-I mean you’re so busy with running Fontaine and I-I’m nobody important anymore, just a civilian. I know we’re friends but I know you have other priorities.”
Neuvillette listens to her and hears what remains unsaid.
And the last time I needed you, you left me alone.
He falls to his knees before her.
He doesn’t reach out to hold her like he so desperately wants to, not until she allows him to.
“I’d come for you.” He swears to her. “No matter what, when you need me, I will be there.”
Furina freezes, her hands momentarily still in their fluttering before she clutches them to her chest. She looks at him with equal parts trepidation and hope, five hundred years working together and she’s never heard him speak so ardently.
His oath echoes in the room around them and outside the world itself seems to hold its breath.
She lets out a shaky breath, sniffs once. Twice.
And then she pulls him into a crushing hug as she starts to cry into his shoulder.
Neuvillette returns the embrace immediately, careful not to hold her too tightly lest he inflict more pain than he already has, and lets his goddess find the comfort she needs in his arms.

no ok because forevers solo mission into the nether and all the vague ‘if I don’t return’ and ‘I’m sorry’ messages he’s left behind is made all the more heart wrenching because he wasn’t meant to be the martyr.
bad has been setting himself up for tragedy. it’s in the self destructive choices he makes, his hyper paranoia, his self isolation, the way he’s literally turning blue and can’t seem to notice it himself. and from a meta perspective, it’s obvious - he talks about lasting consequences, he makes very clear framing and music decisions, the story arc has been setting up for something big. he’s got a book that says it’s for forever’s eyes only and hinted at him needing his help. he’s said to tina that he’s 100% sure of one person ending up dead at the end of all this. he’s made it clear he’d do anything he thinks would get the kids back - self sacrifice included.
it’s been an anxious build up as bad gets worse and worse. as his friends pick up clues and notice. bagi says she knows that bad lies and can cause havoc, but she’s not going to leave his side because he is too sad to be left alone. foolish takes note of his color blindness before anyone else. forever demands his time and reassures bad daily that he is there for him. gives him a flower every day. makes an entire party just showing how much bad is cared for and loved. keeps talking and visiting even when he’s ripping out his hair with annoyance because bad just won’t quit being a nuisance, or argumentative, or a probable kidnapper.
it feels like love and doomed endings. it feels like a build up to something tragic. it feels like trying to save a drowning man who won’t let anyone pull him up. because bad is ready to work for the feds, torture people, burn down anything in his way, sacrifice himself in his desperation and grief.
but now its forever who’s gone and decided any danger to himself is worth it for his son. who’s left behind vague goodbyes and see you soons, unsure if he’ll survive but set on the kids surviving at the very least. he’s already decided his death is worth it.
and while it’s not a surprise, it’s enough of a script flip to punch us all in the gut. because we expected tragedy, we expected uneasy goodbyes and self destructive choices and that effect felt across the island - but we didn’t expect it to be forever.
and neither did bad - who relied on that flower every day

~~~
“We’re here! Everyone assume positions and get ready to dock!” The sound of thunderous footsteps and Tashigi’s voice breaks through your nap. You rub your eyes as the sun shines through the windows of the bunk room.
“Wake up (Y/N)! We’re at Sabaody!” Tashigi’s voice once again cuts through the silence as she calls out to you from behind the door.
“Mmh, I’m up…just give me a second.” You stretch gently before gathering the strength to push yourself up. Breathing heavily, you manage to sit up, the purple turtleneck you wore slightly riding up before you pull it back down. You grab your hat from beside you and position it so that it keeps your hair in place and hides the scar along your face.
“Do you need help picking up your things?” The door opens as Tashigi peaks inside to check up on you.
“That’d be wonderful. I can’t really pick up things like that anymore, haha.” You watch her grab some things and hand them to you before she carries some things herself.
“There's no need to do that. I’m going to have to carry it after I get off the ship.”
“I’m using it as an excuse to just hang out with you for a little longer. Smoker might make me do something.” You couldn’t help but laugh at the slight pout on Tashigi’s face. Yet, you were happy you’d be able to talk to her as friends before you guys became ‘enemies.’ The thought made your heart bleed, but there was nothing you could do about it. Even if you were enemies outside, you’d always be friends in your soul.
The thought of not being woken up and seeing the smiling faces of G-5 marines made a small voice inside you tell you to stay. That you’ll miss them more then you think you would. It was like an earworm replaying the same song over and over again. But when you bite your tongue harshly, all those thoughts leave, and the voice telling you to return to the Straw Hats and that your almost home comes back. It’ll always be hard, never being able to talk to them peacefully ever again. But the memories will soothe the pain.
“Captain! We’’ve docked! We’re on tree 30!” One of the marines notifies Tashigi and you on th ebay that the ship was anchored. Thankfully, quite a bit away yet close enough to bay 41. While you weren’t looking forward to walking that far, it’d be worth it in teh end to see everyone.
“Here’s to hoping my shoes don’t get drenched in whatever makes those bubbles here.”
“It actually doesn’t! Truly weird stuff. Have you never been to Sabaody before?”
“I’ve been here but haven’t actually been on land. Just a quick sight as we passed by to head to the new world.”
“It’s a pretty place but also full of bad people. Bounty hunters, other pirates, and not to mention those disgusting Celestial dragons. Makes me sick.”
“Anyone sane would want to see those horrible people go down.”
Memories of the Celestial Dragons you encountered two years ago flood your mind as you hold back the urge to vomit everywhere. You remember a conversation you had with Killer months ago when you were still under Kidd’s lies. How he told you about how the Celestial Dragons mark their slaves by burning their symbol into their skin. Almost exactly like the jolly roger scarred into your own. Once again, though, you escaped your kidnapper's clutches. But there's so many people who’ll never be given the chance you’ve had. Never be able to see the sun as a free person.
‘No. Don’t dwell on that. Today’s supposed to be happy. Stop thinking about things you can’t control.’
“Well, this is it.” As soon as you were 20 feet from the ship, you and Tashigi stopped. Turning around to face the ship, you saw everyone gather to say goodbye, including Vice Admiral Smoker.
“So this is it, huh?”
“I guess so.” A little chuckle leaves your lips before it turns into tears. Despite trying your best to silence them, they continue to flow.
“I’m so thankful for all of you…You’ve always done so much for me, and there's nothing I can do to repay you. I’m going to miss you all so much.” You can feel Tashigi wrap her arms around you before starting to cry as well.
“Don’t leave (Y/N)! Stay with us!” The two of you held each other tight as tears continued to cry harder.
“I’m sorry! We can still be friends regardless of our sides!” Tears made your vision blurry as you held onto Tashigi for a little while longer before leaving her embrace. Walking up to Vice Admiral Smoker, you lower your head.
“Thank you for everything, Vice Admiral. I promise to protect the honor of G-5 and take down any pirate who dares speak ill of you. And I also promise that no civilian will be hurt by my hands.”
“They better not. Now, get out of here before I change my mind.” With a chuckle, you lift up your head and grab your things with Tashigi’s help.
“Oh, Tashigi, one more thing before I go. I have to ask you something.” With all the overthinking you’ve been doing, a scenario popped up in your head that you couldn’t help but ask her to be a part of.
“What is it?”
“If, by some chance, I do end up keeping the baby with me, and I happen to pass away, would you take care of them for me? Like a godmother or something?” Once again, you were wrapped up in Tashigi’s arms as she cried.
“I’m so honored! Of course, I will. Oh my god (Y/N), you're so sweet!” The two of you hug a little longer before separating. Wiping the tears from your eyes, you wave to the other marines, who wave back to you.
“Goodbye, everyone! I love you all!” With a final wave, you turn your back and make your way to the thousand sunny.
“Do you think she’ll be safe? I can’t help but worry.” Smoker watched as the captain of G-5 gently wiped her tears away. How a single pirate managed to worm her way into the hearts of G-5 will forever be a mystery to outsiders.
“She’ll be fine. As much as I’d like to arrest those Straw Hats right now, I’ll wait. We’ll definitely be seeing each other again. A pirate can only escape for so long.” Crossing his arms, he watches you walk away.
He’s never met someone like you in all his years on earth. Someone who’s been through hell twice yet still has kindness to give to a world that turned their back on her. How you’ve managed to pull through all these months was a miracle. So many nights, people were awakened to the sound of your cries from the night terrors you suffered, but no one said a word about it to him until a day ago. To suffer all that and still find a way to smile is a trait not many can say they have. It’s admirable.
“Let’s get ready to go back to the New World. Everyone get ready!”
“Yes, Vice Admiral!” Watching the Marines scatter helps Smoker ignore the sadness in his chest. Despite how he’d outwardly deny it, he’ll miss you. You can only hang out with someone for so long before they worm their way into your heart. And somehow, you managed to set up a place without meaning, too.
~~~
‘This place is much bigger than I remember. I hope I’m going the right way. Not like I can ask for directions.' You were trying to avoid the public eye yet not look suspicious, so you just kept your head down. With your hair covering your scar and your hat hiding your face, a slight sense of safety coursed through your veins. But not enough for you to ignore the wanted posters that had your face scattered everywhere. Even though there was so much noise around you, you still managed to catch your name being talked about.
“When the hell are the Marines going to catch her? Doesn’t she know the destruction and death she’s caused?!”
“She should just go back to Captain Kidd. Everyone would be safer and happier. She’s being selfish.” Those words make you stop in your tracks as a rage boils inside you. You know you promised Smoker that you wouldn’t lay a hand on a civilian, but how dare they call you that? They don’t know what you’ve been through. How can they tell you what you should do when they haven’t experienced anything you have?
“Let’s not forget she’s pregnant! The most infamous worst-gen pirate has a child! No doubt that child is going to be just like their dad!” Your knuckles turn white from how hard you were gripping your belongings. Every cell in yoru body begged for you to teach them a lesson. To tell people that they had no right to treat you the way they were. That if they went through what you went through, they wouldn’t be talking the way they were. You can feel your body shake in anger as they continue to talk.
‘I have to keep moving. I’m gonna do something I’ll regret if I don’t.’ Taking a deep breath, you begin to fast walk away from the two civilians. You’ve come too far to blow your cover now.
“300,000,00 berri’s if given to Captain Kidd, but only 100,000,000 if given to the Marines? Why would anyone turn her into the Marines if the price Kidd is asking is much higher?”
“Right?”
‘Just keep walking. Just keep walking.’ Water begins to appear at your tear line as you try to ignore the angry tears that threaten to spill. Your heart beats hard as you look at the ground, only sneaking glances at the trees to see that faithful 41.
“Please leave me alone! I’ll give you all my money. Just let me go!” A woman screaming caught your attention, making you scan your surroundings. When you turned your head to the right, down a dark alley, you saw a large masked man gripping a woman's wrist harshly. The scene triggered your own memory of being in her shoes.
“Please! Just let me go! I-I’ll give you all the money I have! Just let me go!” You try to pry his meaty hand off your wrist, but inside, you know it was pointless. It seemed your desperate attempt amused him.
“Now, why would I let something I caught fair and square go?” The way his eyes looked up and down your body made a shiver go down your spine.
“I could get a pretty penny selling you as a slave. You don’t mind, do you?”
“No! Someone help me!” You begged for someone to help her. The chances of your cover being blown would multiply if you jumped in. Yet, the more seconds that went by, the more your hope diminished. Images of that man two years ago, the day everything happened, popped into your head. The man begged for help, and all he wanted was to see his family, but no one did anything. All they did was ignore him as those horrible people arrived and killed him.
You couldn’t do anything then, but maybe now, you could.
Picking up your bags, you walk into the dark alley, your heart beating wildly. Looking up just enough to see the man’s chest, you crack your knuckles before speaking.
“Didn’t you hear her? Let her go.” The sounds of struggling stopped before a raspy laugh left the man.
“Your kidding me? A pregnant lady trying to jump in and help? What are you gonna do? Waddle over here and give birth on me?” His words only made you see red.
“I’m going to give you one more chance. Let her go, or else.” The familiar tingling in your fingertips reemerges as you wait for the man’s next move. Your fingers twitch as you can hear barely silent crackling.
“Oh, I’m so scared!” The man mocked you and seemingly gripped the woman's wrist harder.
“You're hurting me!” As those final words leave the woman’s mouth, you curl your fingers into claws before feeling the tingling get stronger and the crackling gets louder.
Light began filling the dark alley, flashing and flickering as the ball of pure electricity in your hand started forming. Each snap of electricity only made you pour more anger into your attack.
“A devil fruit user? Go figure. Just because you have some powers doesn’t change the fact that you're weak-” After deeming it has enough charge, you throw it straight for the masked man. You watch him try to dodge, only to have it hit him directly in the chest.
The woman manages to pull her wrist free from the man’s grip before running behind you. Both of you watch as the ball of electricity disperses and runs across his entire body. You watch him grab his chest before falling back and landing on the ground with a heavy thud. Without saying a word, you watch as the man spasms on the ground, trying to get a breath in.
“We need to go now.” With the woman nodding, you both quickly walk away from the alley and into the road. Having all your belongings in your hands, you feel slightly drained. Your lungs burn as your mouth goes dry. Sure, you’ve used your devil fruit powers on pirates while in G-5, but that stopped when you found out you were pregnant. So it’s been months since you’ve used it on anyone.
“Are you okay? He didn’t hurt you anywhere else, right?”
“No. And yes, I’m okay.”
“Good.” Turning your back, you begin walking towards Grove 41 once again.
“Wait!”
“Hmm?”
“Thank you. I don’t know what would have happened to me if you hadn’t come.”
“No problem. Just make sure you stop using back alleys and stay on public roads.”
“I will.” You watch the woman run in the opposite direction from you and take that as your cue to continue your original quest.
~~~
After walking for what felt like hours, the familiar smiling lion comes into view, and you feel your heart jump in your chest. Seeing the thousand sunny after being in the dark for so long felt like seeing a miracle happen before your eyes. A new-found energy bursts inside you as you start walking faster with a new vigor.
‘I’m here! I’m here!’ Holding your belongings with a crushing grip, you can feel a huge smile spread to your face. You could hear laughter the closer you got, and your heart felt as if it were going to explode!
Soon enough, you were close enough to where you were able to see a clear view of the crew. You try to speak, but nothing seems to come out. It felt like it was a dream. Even though you were speechless, your presence seemed to be enough as a familiar face called out to you.
“(Y/N)?!” You watch her run up to you along with the others.
“(Y/N)!”
Not even seconds pass before you're encased in a hug. The feeling of being near them was enough to have you start sobbing. Being surrounded by pure love and care but the people you owe your life to felt unreal. You’ve dreamed of this moment for so long, and now that it is finally here, you don’t know where to start.
“You're okay! I was so worried about you!”
“Yeah, me too!”
“We all were,”
“I missed you all so much…I’m so happy!" Despite your limited ability, you try to hold everyone close to you. It’s been so long since you’ve been so happy that the feeling almost felt foreign.
“I can’t believe this is real. I was so afraid I’d never see you guys again!”
“Come on! Let’s go sit down now. I bet you're tired.” Through your tears, you nod as you let them take you aboard the Sunny. You notice a shiny substance covering it.
“What's that?”
“Oh! It’s the coating that’s going to help bring us down to Fishman Island!”
“Wonder if Franky enjoys having his ship covered in bubbles.” Laughter erupts through the tears. Having your shoes crunch against the grass of the safety has a wave of safety washing over you. Sitting on the bench connected to the mast pole, your able to let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding. Robin and Nami sat next to you while almost everyone else sat on the grass.
“Where’s Luffy and Zoro?”
“They should be here soon. I swear if that moss head got lost.” You finally take off your hat as the sun is beating down harshly, making you sweat. With your hair finally being able to move, the strands that once hid the huge scar on your face disappeared. Leaving it for them all to see.
“Oh my god, what happened?! How did you get that scar?!” While you knew you shouldn’t have been surprised they’d notice it right away, it still managed to shock you. Maybe you just lived with it for so long that you’ve forgotten what you used to look like without it.
“This? Oh. I went face first into a corner of a crate.”
“Does it hurt? Here, let me check!” You watch as Chopper hops onto the bench before examining your face.
“How you are not blind is amazing, considering where it’s placed.” Feeling Chopper's little hooves on your face causes a small warmth to erupt in your chest.
“No, it doesn’t hurt. I’ve had it for a while. And it hasn’t caused any problems.”
“What about this one? There's a huge one on the back of your head.” You feel Robin's nimble fingers gently brush through your hair, her gentle touch reminding you of your mother. The sensation made you bite your lip as you choked back tears.
“Can you do that again, Robin? It felt nice.”
“Sure.” Her calm voice and touch made your eyes close as you tried to regain composure.
“(Y/N)?”
“Hm? Yes Robin?” A shiver goes down your spine as you feel her trace the scar.
“Did….Kidd do this to you?” Simply hearing his name makes tears finally slip down your cheeks, and some even onto Chopper's hooves. With your vision blurry, you close your eyes and nod. Even saying his name would leave a bad taste in your mouth.
‘God damnit. I should be crying tears of joy! Not sadness!’ You argued with yourself as you tried to pull yourself together. Gripping your pants, you dig your nails into the fabric.
“How about we change the subject? Umm—” A loud rumbling echoes around everyone, making you hold your stomach.
“Sorry. I haven’t eaten a snack or something.” With the adrenaline finally settling down, you realize how tired and hungry you were.
“Do we have supplies restocked?”
“Of course (Y/N)-swan!”
“That’s good. I’ll just go get something to eat real quick.” Just as you go to sit up, Nami sits you right back down.
“Sanji can get it. You’ve walked all the way here, so Sanji can whip you up something. Right, Sanji?” The stare-down Nami gave the cook made a giggle slip past your lips. You watch Sanji run so fast to the kitchen that dust almost flies behind him.
“Okay, the rest of you, except Chopper, scram.” Nobody moved for the first 20 seconds.
“SCRAM!” Everyone begins to run in different directions until only you, Nami, Robin, and Chopper are left.
“Okay, now that they’re all gone, we can talk about more important things.”
“More important things?” Nami puts her hand on your back, and Robin continues to gently comb through your hair. You watch her look down at your stomach before looking back up at you sympathetically.
“How are you holding up? Do you have any pain?”
“It’s okay. Not anything right now. I get migraines sometimes from the head injury and back pain, but that’s it. Just regular pregnancy things, I suppose.”
“Have you been eating properly and sleeping well? Taken a tumble or anything?”
“No. I’ve been stable on my feet. And almost all I do is eat and sleep.” Chopper lets out a sigh of relief.
“That’s good.”
“I do work out and exercise. Gotta keep myself strong, ya know?”
“We just don’t want you to overdo it. Pregnancy is no easy feat, so it's nice to hear that you're doing well.”
“How far along are you, do you know?”
“Six to seven months.” With Nami and Robin comforting you, it was easier to talk about the baby growing inside you. Yet the nagging thought in your head kept coming back.
“Do you think Luffy will let me stay a straw hat? Even after knowing that I’m pregnant?” You can hear your heartbeat in your ears as you look at Nami and Robin.
“Of course! You’ll always be a straw hat!”
“No matter what!”
“Everything will be okay (Y/N).” You put your arms over Nami and Robin and hold them close. Chopper cuddles close and hugs you as well. Tears fall from your eyes, and you never want to let them go.
“I don’t know what to do, your guys. It feels like no matter what I choose, everything is the wrong decision.”
“If I give the baby up for adoption, there's a chance Kidd will find them or the marines will use them as bait. If I were to keep them, the Marines and Kidd still would be after us. All I want is for them to grow up happy and safe. Is that really too much to ask?”
“No. Not at all. No matter what you choose, we’ll stand beside you.”
“You’ll never have to be alone again.” You see Chopper jump up from the shared hug with a look of shock and wonder in his eyes.
“Chopper? Are you okay?” Everyone split from the hug and looked at Chopper in concern.
“I felt them kick me! When we were hugging, I felt them kick me in the face!” Normally, such words wouldn’t have a positive reaction, but this seems to be a different story. Nami and Robin seemed excited, too, at Chopper's confession.
“Really?! Aw!”
“They know were talking about them.” Robin smiled and giggled softly.
“Have you thought about names?”
“Not really. I don’t know if it’s a boy or a girl even.”
“Well, do you have names that you planned on naming your baby with (....)? Perhaps you can name the baby after them?” It’s been a while since you’ve heard your late fiance’s name—almost to the point that you’ve forgotten it with all the chaos that surrounded your life.
Kidd didn’t know your fiance's name, or you hope he didn’t. On one hand, you somewhat liked the idea. But at the same time, it’d be a constant reminder of the love you lost. You fear you might accidentally compare the baby to a person they’ve never met. And even though the baby was innocent, the fact it’d be the offspring of the man who took everything from you, having their name felt wrong and tainted.
“They deserve to be their own person, so I don’t think I’ll give the baby (....)’s name.” You rub your stomach subconsciously.
“What if they look like him? I know it’d still be my child, but…”
“Even if the baby looks exactly like Kidd, it doesn’t mean they’ll be like him. I bet one of my tangerine trees that they’ll be the exact opposite.” A chuckle leaves your lips as the ease Nami brings seems so natural.
“I’ll take you up on that offer.” You and Nami shake hands, and the sound of the kitchen door opening lets you know the food is finally done.
“After you're done eating, I'd like to give you a checkup to see if everything's healed alright.”
“Sounds good.”
~~~
After finishing your lunch, you head up to the infirmary. When you sat on the bed, you noticed just how out of breath you were. The stairs have been getting harder and harder each day. What used to be an easy task now felt like you were being asked to climb a mountain.
“You okay (Y/N)?” Holding a clipboard, you watch Chopper walk over to you and look at you in concern.
“Stairs are just getting a little harder, but it’ll be okay. So what's your first plan of action, doctor?” It was always so cute to see Chopper get all excited when called a doctor.
“Can I check out any wounds or scars that may have happened since we last saw each other? I’ve made scar cream that is supposed to help reduce the size and stiffness that comes with said scars.”
“Oh, okay. There’s…a lot. Just give me a second.” You begin to take off your sweater before placing it beside you. Chopper's eyes widen as he tries to focus on a single scar, but there's so much more than the last time he’s seen you. He doesn’t know where to start, but he doesn’t want to make you uncomfortable by staring.
“Is there any place you want me to check first?”
“I don’t know if there are any on my back, so you can check there.” you feel Chopper jump on the bed and start to inspect your back. The bra you wore gave the reindeer enough space to inspect your back. While it didn’t cover the scar you hated the most, you simply hid your chest with your hand.
“Not seeing much. Just small ones anyone could have." Chopper goes and grabs your left arm to check it out. You feel his hooves put pressure on the scars before stopping at your hand.
“Did you get shocked? What happened that caused all these small scars?” The realization that you haven't shown anyone your devil fruit powers yet shoots through your mind, and a small excitement courses through your veins.
“Chopper, can you let go of my arm real quick?” Chopper cocked his head before letting go. A big smile plasters on your face before you take a deep breath.
There were sizzling and cracking echos in the room as electricity started to form along your arm and slither around your scared skin. It gave off a flickering glow as you began to accumulate it in your hand.
“Woah! I didn’t know you had devil fruit powers! Why didn't you tell us earlier?”
“I only got them during the two-year separation. I’ve worked my ass off to have control like this. I’m probably not as strong as the rest of you guys, but I think this’ll help.” All your words seemed to go in through one ear and out the other as Chopper watched the electricity form into a ball in your hands.
“I’ve never seen an electricity logia type devil fruit. I didn’t even know there was one.”
“Well, here I am, haha.” Chopper laughs alongside you before he stops. You wonder why, but you soon figure it out when you follow his eye direction. Since he asked to see your arm, you left the branding scar open for him to see. The look of horror is present on his face.
“Oh my god, how did I not see this?!” Moving around to get a better look, Chopper stands next to you on the bed. Carefully moving his hoove near your chest, he stops.
“Is it okay if I check this out?” Swallowing the lump in your throat, you nod.
“Yeah.” You feel Chopper place his hoove on the scar and watch as his eyebrows knit together.
“Unlike the other ones, this one is raised above the skin rather then indented.”
“Is that…a bad thing?”
“No. The one on your chest is a hypertrophic scar, it’s normal to scar like this on ones chest. The others are simply atrophic scars. They're all fine, but…”
“But?”
“I just can’t believe it. With this being in such a sensitive place, I can’t imagine the pain this caused.”
“Yeah. It wasn’t a fun recovery.” Tears gather in your eyes at the memory. There are a million memories you wish you could forget, and this just happened to be in your top five. Remembering Kidd’s approach with that heated metal pole speeds up your heart rate and constricts your chest. Your breath goes jagged as the tears start flowing.
“I look like a freak. Everywhere I look is a reminder of him. How can someone ever love me when all they see is a disfigured shell of a human.” You begin to cry into your hands as the room feels suffocating. Tears slip through your fingers and onto your tummy as you try to catch your breath.
“What have I done to deserve this? Everyone in my family is dead, and I don’t even have a home to go back to! My entire island was wiped out in a single afternoon, and there's only five people who survived to prove the island even existed in the first place! Why do they have to perish while I live?! What’s so great about me?!”
“What’s not great about you?” You and Chopper freeze and look at the infirmary door. There stood Luffy with a big smile on his face.
“Luffy?” Dropping your hands to your thighs, you look at him through your blurry vision.
“I was wondering where you were! But Usopp told me you were in here with Chopper and-” Luffy’s happy voice soon cuts off as he fully registers the state Kidd had reduced you to. You watch his eyes zero in on the branding before his expression darkens.
“Did he do that to you?” He points to the scar, and even though you try to sound tough, you hiccup out a ‘yes’ as you feel your body shake.
“I know it’s their Jolly Roger, but I promise I didn’t want it! Please don’t kick me out, Luffy! I—” You stop in your tracks when you feel something be placed on your head. Rubbing your eyes, you see the brim of Luffy’s straw hat in front of your face. You are at a loss for words as your heart beats in your ears.
“You're not going anywhere (Y/N). I’ll make sure he’ll never lay a hand on you ever again.”
“Cause I’m gonna kill that bastard for doing this to you.”
~~~
Sitting in his workshop, Kidd twirls a sharp scrap of metal between his fingers while looking at the wall. All the bounty posters for the straw hats are plastered on the wall, covered in holes from the number of knives and sharp scraps he’s thrown at them. Even seeing their faces makes rage course through Kidd’s veins.
His eyes zero in on the captains before he throws the metal scrap at the poster. It hilts the man on the poster right between the eyes. His poster is the most shredded. If it weren’t for him, you wouldn’t have been taken and escaped in the first place.
It’s been six months since you left the Victoria Punk, and every second has been a waking nightmare for everyone. While their captain had always been a hothead, he’s been ten times worse ever since you left. The amount of blood on his hands could rival the devil’s—and to many, he was.
The Victoria Punk has become one of the most feared pirate ships currently sailing. When the Victoria's big jaws came into the sight of any other pirates or marines, all they could do was pray. They prayed that by some miracle, Eustass ‘Captain’ Kidd would take pity. Unfortunately, the New World was not known for its kindness, and neither was he.
There was even talk about naming him a new emperor of the sea.
While the title would help him on his path to becoming King of the Pirates, it meant nothing if he still couldn’t find you six months after the fact—couldn’t find you or his unborn child. He didn’t know how you were doing, how the pregnancy was progressing, or what the gender was. It didn’t matter much to him because, in the end, they’d make a great future ruler of the sea.
“Kidd!” Bursting open the workshop door stood the right-hand man of the Kidd pirates. He huffed and puffed, trying to regain his breath after running from across the other side of the ship.
Moving his eyes towards the man in teh doorway, Kidd responds before throwing another scrap metal at the posters.
“What is it Killer?” Walking up closer to the table, Killer slams down multiple papers and photos.
“What am I looking at?”
“I know who’s been harboring (Y/N).” Jumping from his seat, Kidd gets closer to what Killer was showing him.
“What?! Who?!”
“After looking through enough photos and newspaper, I’ve managed to pinpoint the marine squad that’s been hiding her.”
“Well?! Spill it!”
“Marine squad G-5. It’s occupied by Vice Admiral Smoker and Captain Tashigi. How many lower rank marines are on the ship, I don’t know but it can’t be anymore then twenty.” Gritting his teeth, Kidd looks at the pictures of each crew member.
“Next marine ship we see, keep a marine alive. We’ll use them to get G-5’s location.”
“And after we find them?”
“Kill every single one of them. I want that ship to paint the sea red.”
SHORT CHAPTER!! ⚠️☢️
Chapter 4
➡️
He couldn't even begin to describe how much he despised seeing you with another man and why. He can't do it. He can't have you. He knows better than to repeat that whole falling in love and dating nonsense.
........Right?
But then why does it feel as if the adrenaline pumping through his veins would burst out even at the thought of you being with another man?
The sound of your echoed laughter pulled him out of his trance as he took in the dreadful sight in front of him - that guy, whoever he was- he didn't see his face as he had his back towards him, had his hands all over you, as you danced in his hands.
He had to do something.Why? He had no clue.
He saw him walking towards the bar as you too went there after a few minutes and he gave you a drink.
"Y/N?" Loki said as he approached you from behind "Oh, hey" "Would you mind if I talk to him for a second" he said referring to Marc "Uh, sure go ahead"
He took Marc and walked away till he was out of sight and as soon he was... "Do you know who I am ?" "Y-yes I do, Mr. Laufeyson" "Good. And know this, if I see you with her for even a millisecond from now, you'll be history. And if you even think about harming her, I'll make you beg for death" he growled. The fear was evident in the boys eyes as he heard this. "I'll count till seven...run. 1...2.." before he could reach till 5 the boy ran for his life.
Then Loki returned to you and sat on the bar stool beside you "Enjoying ourselves, are we?" he said, a tiny smirk playing on his lips "More than I thought I would... Where's Marc ?" "You seem to like him a lot, huh?" he said, controlling his jealousy. "I was just asking cuz he went with you....then he didn't so" you said with a shrug "And he never would." this made you visibly confused "I mean, he received a call and he had to go... who knows when you're gonna see him again" "Hmm...fair enough
Standing up, he offered you his hand to you with a little bow "May I have the privilege of sharing this dance with you, my lady?" he said making you blush deeply. "You may" you took his hand as he lead you to the dance floor.
Both of you swayed in each other's arms, uncaring of the world around you as you twirled and dipped.
Much to your surprise, and not in a pleasant way, you started feeling dizzy and lightheaded after sometime. Your body seemed like it was about to go limp. "Loki ...I ..I feel.." you started "What's wrong? Are you okay?" he said
"I..I sort of...I just.." before you could complete your words you went down like a stone but luckily for you, Loki was your night in the shining armour.... again. He, almost instinctively, picked you up, not letting your head hit the floor as a wave of concern washed his face
"Y/N? Y/N!? Darling, wake up!" he tried but it was to no avail. He signalled one of his guards and then moved out of the crowded hall, picking you up in his arms effortlessly as he carried you to his car with his guard backing you up from close behind.
The chauffeur opened the car door for him as he laid you down in the backseat. His mind was running a hundred miles per second. 'What happened to you?' ; 'Is someone behind it or is it just some deficiency of the body?' ; 'And if someone is indeed there, who could it be?' ; 'Could it be the kidnappers from earlier?' ; 'Could it be .....' then it hit him.
His nostrils flared and jaw clenched. "Darling, please open your eyes. Please" he said, sounding almost desperate. But it was again in vain. Then he turned to the chauffeur "You know where we need to go. There's only one accurate place" he said to him "Yes, sir" the chauffeur said with a nod and started the limo.
Loki tried all he could, from gently patting your cheek to restless attempts of calling you by your name but nothing seemed to he helping.
After sometime, the car stopped in front of what seemed like a lab. Loki stepped out the limo and a man wearing a white lab coat, with short brown curls and specs walked out with a smile on his face
"Laufeyson, after so many days! What's up? Everything okay, I hope?" he said, offering a hand for Loki to shake, which he did. "Hello, Bruce. Everything was okay, a few hours ago, but now ... you'll have to do your job, Dr. Banner" he said forcing a smile on his face as he was visibly tensed because of you. He opened the car door, revealing you.
"Wait, is that ...Y/N?" Bruce said, surprised "Uh, yes? How do you know her?" Loki asked, visibly confused "I will tell you, hut not now. Better if I treat her first, don't you think?" "Yeah, right. Sure, ofcourse. But don't think that I'll drop it." "Obviously. I know you that much by now. Bring her to the lab"
"Hey- watch your tongue! You don't get to order me or boss me around" "I'm not doing either, just performing my job as a doctor" this earned an eye roll from Loki and a "Clearly" which was dripping sarcasm.
You were brought to the lab and laid on the strecher as Bruce took your pulse and did all the essential things needed to be.
"She's been drugged"
Confidence - Claras pov. 🍭
Cw: female whumpee, male whumper, multiple whumpees, forced infantilization, defiant whumpee, forced diapering
———————————————————————
It’s okay.. everything is okay..
Clara has prepared for this moment for years. Hundreds of hours of true crime podcasts and documentaries. Her bookshelf full of thrillers or even some horror books that could educate her on how to behave in and escape those situations.
She knows exactly how to get out of here.
Until she didn’t…
The hours of waiting silently for any sign of another person seemed to go by so.. incredibly.. slowly…
Struggling against the cuff didn’t help and her jaw is starting to feel really sore due to the gag in her mouth. Some saliva is dripping down her jaw and her eyes feel puffy from crying.
She would understand her situation if she was tied up in a dark and scary basement. Waiting to be bought back by her parents.
Or chained down in a torture chamber, just waiting for the sweet release of death.
But nothing… absolutely nothing… prepared her for this.
Cuffed to a baby crib in a pastel blue room that looks like it belongs to a spoiled four year old. Lots of stuffies and toys, shelves with books. Even a full on play kitchen standing against one wall.
What were her kidnappers intentions.. what creep would abduct a teenage girl and force her into such a position…
And how did this even happen…
She remembers falling asleep during the movie her sister made her watch. Second part of harry potter. The chamber of secrets.
If she’s one hundred percent honest.. Clara hated the marathon her sister makes her and her brother watch every Christmas season. But she doesn’t tell her..
Laceys a sweetheart. And as much as Clara dislikes unrealistic fantasy movies.. she would never ever tell her sister that.
The worries Clara has to face right now are unimaginable. Not just because of her own fate.. but her siblings as well.
If someone broke in and kidnapped her.. they could most likely also have harmed Lacey and Finn. She just hopes whoever took her.. left her siblings behind.
Finally! A noise. It’s the bedrooms door opening, slightly creaking.
The girl wouldn’t pretend to lay down and sleep now. It’s too late anyway since she’s sitting on her knees at the edge of the bed. Peaking at the man entering her lovely little paradise of cutesyness from behind the cell bars.
“Look who’s awake!”
He says cheerfully and Clara can’t help but flash a quick look of disgust up at him. A shiver running down her spine because of the way he’s baby talking her.
“Did you have sweet dreams cutiepie?”
The man asks as he quickly uses the key to unlock her cuff before picking her up under her armpits.
She just has to stay calm. If she doesn’t act scared he won’t be successful. And acting defiant won’t help her now either. She has no idea what sick ideas are running around in this mans head.. she needs to read him. Figure out how to break him.
…. What the…
He just put her down on a changing table before chaining her hands to the wall behind her. Before she can register anything he pulls down her cotton panties, throwing them in a laundry basket beside the table.
“Hm?!”
She can’t help but whimper under the gag as she raises her knees in front of her. Trying to cover herself up a little.
Her captor walks over to a drawer before pulling out a pack of diapers and ripping it open, taking one out.
No- no no!-
I’m dangerous ☆ chapter 2 ☆ COD fanfic
☆ fem!reader x Kate Laswell ☆ explicit. MDNI. ☆ 2/10 ☆ 2,204 words
☆ Summary: You were a hacker and had been a thorn in the side of the 141 gang for a while, in particular as you tried to find out who the famous leader, Watcher, was. But they refuse to be blackmailed and won’t pay you.
So, to prove that you weren’t just bluffing, but were a serious threat to them, you kidnapped a random woman that you saw coming out from one of their meetings, figuring she was a secretary or girlfriend or something.
Oh, how wrong you were.
You had to constantly remind yourself that you were dangerous - and not just some hacker that had gotten in over your head.
No no, you were a dangerous vigilante. Not a desperate person, who was lucky enough to successfully kidnap a mob member. So far at least.
The fact that you lived out in the middle of nowhere, your closest neighbour several miles away, finally came to your advantage as well, since you could pull in the lady from the van to the house in peace.
You couldn’t carry her, so you dragged her beneath her armpits all the way inside, cringing as  you saw how you messed up her tights and expensive looking high-heels. Though you doubted a proper kidnapper would care about that.
The moment you dropped her on the mattress in your living room, you let out a groan, properly knackered yourself already, the adrenaline beginning to leave your body as well. The lady was still sedated, sleeping peacefully as you took the chain you had brought in a shop a couple of days earlier, looping it around her ankle and using a padlock to lock it. Then you repeated it at the radiator. You sat down on your couch, proud of your whole setup.
… what now?
This was a really shitty idea - what if she wanted to talk? Were you supposed to use duct tape over her mouth? Seemed painful. Then again, would a proper dangerous kidnapper care about that?
Your eyes flickered to the bird on the mattress, who was still sleeping peacefully, her dreams unaware of what had happened. If things had been different, she might have been your type, but alas, things weren’t different.
With a sigh you abandoned her, to make some tea.
☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
“What the fuck.”
The mumbled words pulled your attention from your laptop and to the woman on the floor, who was moving and mumbling. Unsure of what exactly to do, you just watched her, sipping your tea.
As she mumbled and cursed, you realised something; she didn’t sound british. In fact, there was a more American accent to her words.
Bloody hell. If you weren’t sure of the fact that she hung around the 141, you would have been afraid she hadn’t been a part of them. You had sent the emails to the members just a few moments ago, stating your demands for her safe return. You had rummaged through the contents of the bag in the car about twenty minutes ago, finding some items that confirmed her identity.
Kate Laswell. 43 years old, Virgo, unmarried. She smoked, though there weren’t any cigarettes among the content that had been scattered around your car floor. Forgot them in her car and you didn’t let her get them before you tased her. There had been a switch-knife and butterfly knife in the contents too, so you reminded yourself not to give her anything too sharp.
You took another sip of the cuppa, watching her sit up, her prior neatly bun messy from everything, her head looking at the chain around her ankle for a moment - then her head snapped and her eyes zoomed in on you.
Silence filled your house for a few moments. It was awkward and you had to focus to not squirm in the chair by your kitchen island.
“Hello,” you finally greeted after another couple of seconds, knowing you probably shouldn’t have been the first to crack, but you didn’t care.
“Who the fuck are you?” She bluntly answered, looking quite upset and wasn’t that just splendid?
“Doesn’t matter,” you answered gently, already having prepared not to tell her your name or anything that could get you in trouble.
“Listen, you little –” she cut herself off, managing to rip her arms free of the duct tape hell you had created and a disappointed sound left you at the sight. So much from watching that Youtube video, maybe you should have gone with ropes, “- I don’t know what your fucking problem is, but you better let me go this instance.”
You took another sip of your tea, hoping you looked cool. “No.”
She watched you silently for a few moments, before looking around your living room, taking in everything.
“This seems like a very shitty idea,” she then stated, and yeah, you didn’t really disagree with her. You shrugged.
“It’s not going to be for long. Hopefully you’ll be free again tomorrow or the day after, if the 141 chooses to cooperate. Then I’ll be out of your hair for good,” you explained.
“I’m not going to tell you anything,” she answered and you shrugged again.
“Dont’ really fancy knowing anything,” you answered truthfully.
“... you’re a weird kidnapper.”
You huffed, rolling your eyes. This whole thing was a load of tosh already.
“Relax,” You just told her, turning to your laptop once again, looking at the email one of them had sent back. It was just cursing you out, telling you they would kill you. Not really what you asked for.
“Can I get some coffee at least?”
The nerve.
“No.”
☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
She was a surprisingly calm prisoner. You gave her a book after she complained about being bored, Romeo and Juliet, much to her annoyance. Since you found it amusing, you refused to give her any other book. Look at you being mean and dangerous.
“They’re going to find me, you know.”
“Doubt it,” you answered, “they haven’t found me for a long time.”
Kate was silent for a few moments, before finally speaking again.
“Are you part of the whole blackmailing group that's been bothering us? Court of dogs or something?”
“Faes and Hounds,” you muttered back, feeling stupid over the name. You had needed one quickly and you panicked - and it had sounded somewhat cool. Not right now though. You had also just admitted to being a part of it.
A huff left Kate and your eyes flickered to look at her. She was staring at you.
“It’s just you, isn’t it?”
Fuck.
“Nope,” you answered, quickly looking back at the screen, “We’re a whole group.”
“This whole time we thought it was a proper group and it was just a lil’ pretty thing with a laptop.”
“Shut up.” You wanted to dig a hole and hide in it.
“How ca–”
“I told you to shut up!” you finally snapped, looking over at her. She crossed her arms.
“Can I get a cup of coffee?”
“Will you shut up then?
“Sure.”
“Fine,” you mumbled, getting up to make your prisoner a bloody cup of coffee.
You made it and gave it to her. She even politely thanked you.
She was quiet for a while then and you went back to the emails. You began to enjoy the quiet that followed, being able to ignore her for a while. When they paid you the 60k, you would have to pack and find somewhere to drop her off, then get your ass up north. Ditch the parts that weren’t important, like your television and things like that.
You wondered for a moment if Alice would have liked this situation. She was never much for crime, but she accepted your black-mailiing of rich, bad people who cheated on their wives. Maybe she would have underst–
“Is this your first time?”
You blinked, looking over at the woman, who looked calmly at you, a small friendly smile on her lips. Despite being kidnapped, she didn’t seem that scared, which annoyed you. You felt like you had to reboot, like a shitty windows computer that needed to update.
“Pardon?” You asked, unsure if you had heard her correctly.
“First time kidnapping somebody?”
“Oh,” you felt your cheeks heat though you pretended they weren’t, your toes curling with embarrassment,  “no no, I’ve kidnapped tons of people.”
You were awful at lying in person and you were pretty sure that Kate had already figured that out. Everything was easier over a screen. Everything.
“… sure.” The lady didn’t even sound a tad convinced and you looked away. Maybe you were in over your head. But it wasn’t like you could just… tell her to go now.
You just hoped the 141 agreed to pay soon.
☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
In a way it seemed like she was more of a house guest than somebody you had kidnapped. It was odd to have someone around you again, the house having been quiet for so long after Alice.
Since she agreed to behave, you let her out of the chain to sit at the kitchen Isle and eat dinner that night. So, since she had asked you so many questions ever since she woke up from sedation, you figured you could return the favour.
“Who are you anyways?”
“Hm?” She tipped her head to the side, chewing her food. You found yourself thinking that Kate looked pretty even when eating - and maybe you had been alone for too long, if you felt attracted to the first woman who showed you attention. Especially because of the circumstances.
“What’s your role in the gang?”
She blinked, swallowing after a second before just smiling.
“Secretary,” she then said, “they probably won’t appreciate me missing.”
“Figured,” you answered. Secretary for John Price then, you figured, if they cared about her like it seemed they did. And you had a growing feeling he was the leader, the so-called Watcher. It was a stupid name anyways - reminded you of that youtube channel or that movie from 2022.
“... Did you kidnap someone without knowing who they were?” There was a hint of judgement in her voice and bloody hell, you wanted to chain her up again. Maybe use that duct tape to shut her up.
You huffed, stabbing your pasta. She was annoying. When you got the exchange done, you looked forward to being alone again. You didn’t answer, just focused on eating and she apparently dropped it, figuring you wouldn’t answer. Embarrassment overwhelmed you a little. You didn’t want to admit that she was right.
“Why do you do this?”
You chewed your pasta while rolling your eyes. Wouldn't she give you a moment of peace? Maybe you should have kidnapped somebody else. Was she trying to befriend you? You had seen that people often did that when kidnapped, hoping to make the kidnapper feel sympathy.
“Why do you care?” You answered grumpily. It wasn’t going to work on you.
“I’m just curious,” Kate kept going, really not wanting to drop it.
“I’m not telling you.”
“Why not?”
“… I’m literally your kidnapper.”
Kate shrugged, then raised her hand, little finger stretched out towards you.
“Pinky promise,” she said.
You looked at her pinky. Her nails were short but  manicured and pretty, clearly well kept, her fingers looked soft. This was absolutely ridiculous. A part of you wanted to laugh from how bizarre this whole thing was.
“No.” You repeated.
“Humour me?”
You rolled your eyes. It felt stupid. Still, you offered your own pinky and hooked it in hers just for a moment. Ridiculous. You were pretty sure this wasn’t how you were a scary and dangerous kidnapper, making bloody pinky promises with your prisoner.
Kate looked at you expectantly, clearly waiting for an answer.
“I need the money.”
She huffed, raising an eyebrow. She looked handsome, even like this, unimpressed and you felt bad for feeling that. You shouldn’t really be feeling anything about her.
“I figured.” She said dryly.
You licked your lips, looking down at your pasta for a moment. Just like the screw-shaped pasta, you felt like spiralling. You really shouldn’t tell her about Alice. You didn’t want her pity, didn’t want her to feel bad for you. But then again, you hadn’t really talked to anyone about Alice. About how she made life brighter, how she was always there for you. How she smiled, how you missed seeing her crooked teeth, how you would laugh about your childhood memories, how she would braid your hair.
“I’m in debt. Sister was sick, the doctors at a private hospital said they could help her - she died anyway, didn’t she?,” you admitted in half a mumble, clearly not happy to talk about it. It came out angrier than you intended to, but you didn’t really care.
You had an Alice shaped hole in your heart, a forever empty spot from your little sister.
“I’m sorry.”
“Don’t - It doesn’t matter. When they’ve paid me, everything will be fine again,” you said. She hummed in reply and you kept looking down at the foot. You stabbed the pasta some more. It was a boring meal really, but you weren’t a five-star hotel after all.
“Is she the one in the pictures? Next to you?”
You finally looked up again. She nodded towards one of the pictures of the wall, indeed showing a captured moment of the two of you. In one of the fields outside, after playing hide and seek for hours, like you always did when bored.
Bollocks. You should have packed them down before kidnapping her.
You just gave a short nod.
“Just. Ugh. Don’t ask about her.”
“Sure,” she didn’t seem to mind, “You’re not, by any chance, serving dessert, are you?”
“... Shut up and be scared of me like a proper prisoner.”
What is every skeleton's reaction to a strange human making a kidnapping attempt on him?
Undertale Sans - He's in the back of a random guy's car, chilled as hell, and he keeps talking just to annoy his kidnapper. He's not really kidnapped anyway, he could just teleport out of here anytime he wants. He's having fun. He can tell the guy is not really dangerous, so he takes advantage of that to teach them a lesson about kidnapping the wrong people. Eventually, Sans gets bored and simply disappears.
Undertale Papyrus - Well, he's always happy to make new friends but that gun on his head starts to seriously bother him so out of nowhere, he grabs the gun, opens the car window and throws it outside. Now, isn't it better to talk? Go on, he's a very patient skeleton. Tell him why you have so much anger in your heart, he's sure he can help. Undyne is so confused when later that day, a random man runs to her, crying, and begs her to arrest him for kidnapping a monster.
Underswap Sans - He's playing the dumb little hostage until his kidnappers lead him to his base, then he suddenly attacks, knocks them all down in ten seconds, then peacefully unties himself and calls for backup. That's not the first time it has happened, is it?
Underswap Papyrus - The man screams at him to jump in the truck and to knock it off. Except a loud car passed at the same moment and Honey only understood "Knock me off". So, uh, sure, it's a weird demand but who is he to judge. He takes his grocery back and explodes it against his kidnapper's head. Then Honey realizes he might be in trouble now and just teleports out of here.
Underfell Sans - Oh man, not again... It's the third time this month. Red starts to argue with the kidnappers, asking them why they still haven't moved on from trying to hurt his brother when neither of them is threatened by anything. Damn, he even knows one of them has kids. Don't you have better things to do than harass him constantly? It's not his fault you're all losers!
Underfell Papyrus - He can't believe he got kidnapped by a tiny three-year-old child. He was on his way, in a park, when a random child ran to him and dragged him towards the playground and now he's the prisoner of a bunch of children and if he dares to move they all start crying and their parents giving him death stares??? How did that even happen? He's not ok with this! Someone helps him????
Horrortale Sans - Welp. He kinda kidnapped himself actually. He saw a big truck open, and he smelled food, and he was hungry so... Yeah, he climbed in, the doors closed behind him, and now he's driving he has no idea where wondering if he should tell Willow or if Willow will get mad at him lol. At least he has cookies. Hundreds and hundreds of boxes of cookies. It's not that bad.
Horrortale Papyrus - So a grandma in the retirement house he's working in said she would kidnap him to make sure he keeps cooking only for her and he kinda thought it was a joke until she locked the door of her room once he entered and literally swallowed the key in front of his own very eye sockets while wiggling her eyebrows at him. Nobody told him this could happen???? He has no idea what he's even supposed to do now. He's kidnapped he guesses???
Swapfell Sans - He pets another cat on the way home and now Edge's cat, Doomfanger, is really mad he's cheating on her and kinda refuses to let him get out of the house. Nox tries to argue that it's quite hypocritical since she's cheating on Edge with him, but the cat refuses to listen and keeps biting his ankles very aggressively. He's a prisoner of his own house! That's crazy! Nox decides he has enough and bravely comes outside to face the demon, only to have Doomfanger beating him up like never before, and run back home with the tail between the legs to save his life. Nox is not sure how he's going to explain why he couldn't come to the Queen's meeting lol.
Swapfell Papyrus - He got kidnapped by two guys who can't work together. So Rus told one he heard the other said he would keep the money of his ransom for himself and just watched as the two guys argued together, then fought like wild animals. While they're rolling on the floor trying to kill each other, Rus simply gets up and leaves the building lol.
Fellswap Gold Sans - Why do people never learn? Instead of getting kidnapped, Wine kidnapped his kidnapper who is now crying like a baby in his living room and begging him to let him go. Why are you trying to hurt him when you piss your pants at the first contrariety? Are you stupid? Did you even read the mission paper telling how dangerous he is? Wine can't believe it. Kidnappers are so stupid these days. At least Underground they still had some reputation! Pathetic.
Fellswap Gold Papyrus - As soon as the man asks him to come, Coffee turns around and runs away screaming at the top of his lungs, chased by his kidnapper lol. He got kidnapped too many times, he knows that being loud helps so he's going to be the loudest. Eventually, people come to his rescue. While they're fighting with his kidnapper, Coffee runs for his life, giving up on all of them to get home. He knows it's bad but man, having to talk to so many people is far worse than being kidnapped and he really doesn't want to do it.
Hannah, pushes the elf girl behind her and glares: SHE'S NOT YOURS, SHE'S MINE!
-----------------------------------------
Hannah *shooting up in her bed in the middle of the night and accidentally knocking Skia, Luke, and River who she was having a sleepover with out of it*
Luke: OW!
Skia: Hey!
River: Hannah, what the hell?
Hannah, getting horrible flashbacks to her family's partners violent attempts to flirt: HAVE MACON WEST AND OLGA HEARTS BEEN FLIRTING WITH ME THIS WHOLE TIME?!
*Momentarily silence followed by a loud explosion of noise as the other three question if that is the case*
-----------------------------------------
Hannah: When I was younger I used to set toilet paper on fire and flush it down the toilet for fun and only stopped because I burnt the seat.
Eduardo Frollo: Again, weird but not a sin.
-----------------------------------------
Luke: One time when I was a kid the toaster caught fire, so I went over to my dad who was arguing with my grandmother and tugged on his sleeve for six minutes till I had his attention and calmly told him the toaster was on fire.
Hannah: Oh yeah I remember that. He was all like 'WHAT? AHHH!' and your grandma asked why we didn't say anything lol.
Kyle: why do you remember that?
Hannah: Oh I was there.
Kyle: ?
Hannah, fondly sighs: Good times.
-----------------------------------------
Lady Tremaine, impatiently: And if I wanted to sit around all day going nowhere, I’d be a teacher!
Luke, fed up *hits the gas and starts driving recklessly* Got it.
-----------------------------------------
Lady Tremaine to Luke: You’re not fit to be king of … name a place
Luke: and you're not fit to be a mother, let alone a hair stylist.
*five minutes later*
Luke runs and hides behind Drizella: MOM! GRANDMA'S TRYING TO KILL ME!
-----------------------------------------
Lady Tremaine, regarding Luke: My third biggest fear: He brings home a whore and says, ‘We’re married!’ Oh, and the whore has bangs.
Darcy: I'm literally right here.
Lady Tremaine, drinking: And I wish you weren't.
Darcy: And I wish you were dead but we can't all have what we want.
-----------------------------------------
Luke: Your point being- *freezes in horror*
Hannah *staring at him wide eyed*
Haul: Uh... What's wrong?
Luke, screaming: I'M TURNING INTO MY GRANDMOTHER!
-----------------------------------------
Luke: You know, when I was little I used to pretend you weren't my grandmother.
Lady Tremaine: Me too.
Hello Neighbor: Kept Secrets
By JJ
Summary: With Nicky missing, and no one around to help, it's up to Trinity and the rescue squad to investigate the neighbor and save their friend.
Chapter 7
I tightened the body cam around Enzo's waist.
"Babe, are you sure this'll work?", asked Enzo.
I shrugged, "I don't know.", I replied. "But I'm confident that it has to."
As I finished adjusting it, I turned to look at Finch, who was staring at the Peterson house.
"How is no one questioning that?", she asked. "Because I see cars driving by, and I see people walking by. Somehow, none of the other neighbors are questioning why he's literally building a fortress around his house?", she said. "I don't know what kind of Home Owners Association you people on Friendly Court live in, but I don't know if you guys can do this."
Delroy nodded, "Agreed.", he said. "Whoever isn't questioning how he gets away with this is an idiot."
"Alright, it's perfect.", I said. "Now let's do this."
Enzo shook himself off, but he was somehow still scared. "What if he doesn't give me direct answers?"
"That's what the camera is for. If you're ever alone in a room in that house, you have to look all around for any proof you can find. If he doesn't give you honest answers, look for them yourself."
He nodded.
I turned him around to the Peterson house, giving him a kiss on the cheek for good luck.
We ran behind Nicky's house, and Ivan activated the camera.
"It seems to be working just fine.", said Ivan. "Enzo, can you hear me okay?"
Static, then "Yeah, I can hear you."
I hoped and prayed that this plan wouldn't backfire. Because if we could get some proof that Mr. Peterson was a kidnapper, then I would be able to sleep well at night, and I would be able to face Nicky again without feeling guilty.
We saw Enzo knock on the fence door, and a minute passed by before Mr. Peterson opened the gate.
"Enzo?"
Enzo cleared his throat and waved to the man. "Hi, Mr. Peterson.", he said. "Sorry to bother you, but I'm in the middle of a massive case at the moment, and I need all the help I can get."
He sounded nervous, but thankfully, not too nervous to where he sounded like a robot, like he was reading off a script or if we were feeding him his lines through a wire.
"What sort of case?", asked Mr. Peterson.
Enzo sighed, "I know this is a shaky topic for you, sir, but I'm investigating the last known whereabouts of Nicholas Roth. Do you happen to know him? Since he is your neighbor."
Mr. Peterson smiled warmly, but I didn't trust any type of smile he plastered on his face. "Actually, I do. He lives across the street from me, it's been quite a while since I've seen him."
Lies. Lies. All lies.
"Good, so you wouldn't mind if I asked you a couple of questions?"
Mr. Peterson nodded, "Not at all, child.", he said. "But let's talk inside over tea."
"That would be nice."
We watched from the body cam as Enzo walked into the house.
"You're doing great, babe.", I whispered. I was careful not to talk through the camera so Mr. Peterson wouldn't be onto us, because that man could possibly have supersonic hearing.
Mr. Peterson led Enzo to the living room and had him sit down on the chair across the room from him. He crossed his arms, looking ready for whatever questions Enzo was about to ask him.
Because he was.
"Do you remember the last time you saw Nicky?", asked Enzo.
Mr. Peterson shook his head and let out a deep sigh, "I'm afraid I haven't seen anything all week. I've been a little too busy...renovating."
Yeah, renovating all these death traps around your house to prevent escape.
"Oh yes, I've noticed you've been making some adjustments to your house.", said Enzo, trying to sound casual. "Guess I don't need to ask if you even have a permit for all of this, considering your last career."
"Damn it.", whispered Delroy. "All of this small talk is really unnecessary!"
I shushed him, "Quiet! Do you want him to hear us?!"
He put his hands up in surrender. "Sorry."
Mr. Peterson stood up when he heard a loud whistling sound. "That must be the tea. I'll be right back and we'll continue on.", and with that, he left the room.
I grabbed the camera from Ivan's hand, "Now's your chance!", I said. Ivan gently took his camera back.
"Sorry.", I said.
"It's fine. Just leave the machinery to the inventor next time in the future. Okay?", he said. "But she's right, Enzo. Go for it."
Enzo got up and walked out of the living room, up the stairs, and down the poorly lit corridor with its line of doors.
He opened one door, and surprisingly, it was unlocked. Normally, most of these doors would be off limits.
He walked in, and I kind of already figured out where he was.
Mr. Peterson's study.
"Geez, this place is a mess.", he mumbled. He walked to the desk and started browsing through the messy stacks of paper and pens.
"Not much is here.", he said. "Just a bunch of old newspapers and...wait a minute."
He picked up something that immediately looked familiar.
One of Aaron and Mya's missing posters.
He looked at the front and back, and on the back was a messy charcoal drawing of the Peterson children. Aaron was standing on the edge of a wooden plank, and Mya looked like she was already falling down.
"How did he get these?", asked Enzo. "The last time I saw any of these was...", he didn't even finish the sentence before he dropped the poster. "Oh God..."
"Nicky was telling the truth! He was framed!", Maritza yelled.
"Mari, be quiet!"
"No! Nicky was telling the truth this whole time about Mr. Peterson framing him! The proof is literally in his office, and we didn't fucking believe him until now! He was right about Aaron and Mya going missing, he was right about being framed, what the hell else was he right about?!"
I could hear Enzo panicking as he tried to turn the camera off, "Maritza, stop it! You're gonna bring attention to us!"
But Maritza didn't listen, she kept yelling and flailing around about how Nicky was right about so many things.
I put my hands on her shoulders, and somehow managed to calm her down. Once she was calm, I looked at the camera again and saw that Enzo was standing in front of the same red key we saw the last time we broke into Mr. Peterson's house.
"Enzo, get the key!", I said.
"That's what I was doing, babe.", he said. He picked it up, and was about to leave the office, but then the door swung open.
Mr. Peterson loomed over Enzo, his shadow taking up the entire room. Despite him not being completely in the picture, I could tell he had that same, disgusting, menacing smile.
"Enzo Esposito...", he started off. "Aren't you just a rude little child?", he moved closer to him, making Enzo shrink back. "You really thought it was okay to explore my house and go through my things without my permission, and you have the nerve to take my things as well."
I could hear Enzo softly hyperventilating through the camera, and I prayed that Mr. Peterson would show a shred of mercy and let my boyfriend live.
But this is Mr. Peterson we're talking about, and he doesn't strike me as the merciful type.
"I can't let such actions go unpunished.", he growled.
I didn't think Enzo would live, but then he took me by surprise when he picked up a book from the shelf beside the desk, and threw it at Mr. Peterson's face, earning a loud grunt.
Enzo sprinted out of the room, desperate to escape that madhouse and get back to us.
He ran down the stairs, past the basement door in the living room, and out the front door.
Geez, I wasn't even there, and I could feel that Mr. Peterson wasn't too far behind.
I ran to the front of Nicky's house, waving at Enzo to let him know I was right across the street. He ran faster, and Mr. Peterson was gaining on him.
Then...just as he was about to cross the curb, a loud scream broke through the air, making Mr. Peterson jump back. He looked at us, then his house, then back at us.
He decided to go back inside his house, but not before giving us one last menacing glare and shutting the door.
I wrapped my arms around Enzo's torso and tightly embraced him. "Enzo, thank God you're okay!", I said. "Oh, you were so brave!"
Enzo hugged me back, "Thanks, babe.", he broke away from me and pulled something out of his pocket. The red key.
Everyone else came from the backyard, and Maritza smacked Enzo in the back of his head. "Don't scare me like that anymore, dingus!", she said. Enzo rubbed the back of his head.
"Yeah, whatever. Look, I got the key to the basement. Now all we have to do is go back in there and save the kids.", he said.
I nodded, "But let's rest for today, guys. We're going to get everyone back tonight."
Everyone saluted, and we all went back home.
{R/n has been kidnapped after some aliens mistake her for Tregear's new human form, she's being tortured by one them who asks her for the location foe some device Tregear stole from them a very long time ago.]
Kidnapper: Impressive... most would be unconscious from the pain by now how are you able to block it out?
R/n, hanging from the ceiling by her wrists: The adrenaline helps. So does the fear of death. There's a lot of both. But My only solace is thinking about inflicting this pain on people like you.
Kidnapper, guffaws: Ah... you don't really mean that... do you? I think I better leave you alone for a while...
{The kidnapper stood up just a tarot card suddenly drops from the ceiling which distract the kidnapper they pick the card up and examine it; failing to notice Tregear suddenly appearing behind them.]
R/n, smirks: Oh...I think it'll be much longer then that...
Kidnapper: Ha?~
{Tregear quickly gets them into head lock and jams his finger into their head.]
Tregear: Oh the reaper.... Looks like you pulled the wrong card.~
Kidnapper, looks between R/n and Tregear in disbelief: Wha-But, you can't be...then who is-
*Tregear energy bolts them in the head and they drop dead*
Tregear,unties R/n's wrists and starts carrying her out of the room: Do me a favor and keep your eyes on me...
[R/n almost complied but the curiosity got the better of her; she peeked and almost wished she hadn't
Tregear really went into overkill on her captors, like they would need to use dental records just to identify them kind of overkill. Well, the ones that still had their jaws intact anyways; it was horrid... And whats worst a little part of her felt a dark thrill seeing all that carnage around her, but R/n just chalked that those feelings up to the frost giant instincts she got from Be/r's gene splicing. ]
Tregear: I said not to look...
R/n: Trust me, I've seen way worst...
Tregear, knowing exactly what she's talking about: Those aren't your memories, you aren't Bel/r.
R/n, glares at him: I know who I am Tregear.
Tregear: Good, just keep talking to me...
{R/n noted Tregear was acting off...was she that badly injured? it's weird she doesn't feel hurt...just really tired.]
Tregear: Don't close your eyes, R/n.
[Tregear pinches her arm causing R/n yelp and glare at Tregear didn't even giggle or smirk at her reaction which further worried the woman, as Taro's giant form waited outside for them, under Tregear's instructions he flew them to a secluded area that R/n recognized as Tregear's lab entrance.
Taro shrank down to human size and tried to follow them inside but Tregear snapped his fingers and this nozzle appeared from out of the ground and sprayed this purple mist into Taro's face; he collapsed to the ground asleep. Next thing R/n knew she being gently placed into a strange pod.]
Tregear: You can sleep now.
R/n, dozing off: But... wait.. what is this thing-
[Cut to 3 days later, R/n wakes up fully healed to see Tregear at his computer sounding frustrated and concerned.]
Tregear: Run the test again.
HEiLDa: Result: positive, subject is six weeks along.
Tregear: Again.
HEiLDa: Result: positive subject is six weeks along.
Tregear: Again...
HELiDa: ERROR: Subject is awake.
[Tregear whips his head around to see a disoriented R/n watching him from inside the pod.]
R/n, as Tregear: helps her out of the pod: What's going on? Am I sick.
Tregear:...No, not quite.
[R/n had to spend another three days in the pod after she fainted from hearing the news: she and Tregear were going to be parents.]
Hi hello I have been absolutely dying to know what’s up w shimmer (who is not shimmer anymore???) so if you needed an excuse to talk about your guys 👀 pls I’m so so curious
hiii!!! aaah i'm so excited to talk about this garnet's shimmer arc just came to a close last night and i'm VIBRATING ajnbfaslkdjf i'm gonna give you the long story long bc i don't think there's any other way to tell it really so i apologize in advance for this essay i'm sure it's not what you signed up for ;-;
quick TLDR; shimmer was a blight her goddess set on her after breaking her oath approx. 7 years ago in game, and is gone now bc garnet forgave herself and went home to lochton to face the consequences of her actions
garnet and her dad came over from the fire plane and landed in a tiny town on the sword coast called lochton. there, her father worked as a head of the house guard for the lord of the town, and garnet grew up along side the lord's daughter, afvari. their relationship eventually grew from best friends to lovers at some point in their teens, and garnet was eventually appointed to the guard with her father on specific detail to one princess afvari.
approx. 7 years ago in our campaign, there was a break in to kidnap afvari in the middle of the night. garnet, in an attempt to save her and get rid of the kidnappers, accidentally exploded with a burst of fiery anger killing everyone in the room. she was apprehended at the scene and put into custody. in her wait to be tried, fear overtook her and she ran from lochton, fleeing from punishment and fear of death for killing the lord's only daughter. the night she escaped, she went down to the town graveyard and saw shimmer for the first time: a spectral blue fiery form with bright yellow eyes, staring and watching, bearing a haunting resemblance to afvari. shimmer was a blight set on her from her goddess viridi, with whom garnet broke her oath of devotion.
for the next 3 years, garnet ran, taking jobs where she could but never letting anyone get close enough to know about her past, that is until she met marrow and valerius, and eventually a year later the rest of the forshtti guild with goose, grayson, and aegoth, among others. during their time together with the guild and getting closer, shimmer would attack whenever garnet would have that same "overkill" she felt that night she killed afvari. it injured several of her friends and in the end caused her to keep that wall up she had for years.
RECENTLY THOUGH!!! goose had made progress in getting garnet to trust in viridi's plan (he was a cleric of viridi), though not without their fair share of arguments about it. eventually shimmer spawned during a battle again and garnet's current partner valerius (in his pure angel form bastion, it's a long story don't even get me started) saw that unlike every time garnet had described shimmer to him, she didn't look like afvari; it looked like garnet, exactly how she was 7 years ago the night she ran. in talking with valerius, garnet realized the only thing to do to get rid of shimmer was to go back to lochton and make peace with her past, putting aside her grief and moving on as well as answering for her crimes. going back to town, she went to the graveyard and prayed for forgiveness and was confronted with shimmer as she always was, 25 year old garnet, scared and terrified of what she'd done. after a good conversation with her past self and reassuring that it does get better and the pain does go away, they huGGED AND IM CRYING NOW, but shimmer changed into a form of pure white light, the whip from hakim (evil god offering an oath of vengeance) shriveled at garnet's side and she was equipped instead with new armor, the "Breastplate of the Valkyrie."
the last line of the session and of the SEASON was in this moment and it's too good not to share so, directly from our dm: "instinctively, you know the command word, and as it's spoken two wings of radiant crimson light erupt from your back as the valkyrie of the forshtti guild takes flight, finally free of the weight that had grounded her."
adskjfhiua i hope this wasn't too long to read i could talk about it forever it was so so good, my dm did such a good job making this resolution so special. biiiiig chapter in garnet's life is over and i'm so excited to keep playing her with this new chapter ahead of her!!!!!
“Could’ve, should’ve.”
@loganwritesprobably and I were discussing angst.
So I wrote angst.
Content between my OC Mila and Logan’s OC Marsh.
ִֶָ𓂃 ࣪˖ ִֶָ🪴🐇་༘࿐
Content: Protectiveness, drinking, angst, kidnapping, implied violence
.𖥔 ݁ ˖ ✦ ‧₊˚ ⋅
The knife of panic that had speared right through Marsh’s gut only continued to twist deeper as the evening wore on.
He was sick, he was raging, both at himself and at the world.
How did this happen?
How did he let this happen?
The events of the day replayed through a dizzying and blurry lens in his mind.
Marsh had known the place was a bit…dodgy. An underground market he had wanted to investigate for any leads on unknown devil fruit powers that he could add to his growing research.
He hadn’t expected- could have never even begun to anticipate this.
Marsh sat at his desk with his head buried in his hands. The crew had tried to be there with him, but he had demanded complete isolation with his dead eyed and determined look, so they simply waited around the ship until they could be of use, desperate to ease their crew mate’s suffering.
A glass of something strong- a potent, foul smelling scotch was lifted in a trembling hand to Marsh’s lips as he thought and thought and kicked himself at every made up, idealised opportunity to have done something differently.
He had just wanted to do something nice with Mila. Something not work related. Or rather, an opportunity to show her something to do with his work for once, beyond the occasional times he would interview and grill her for details about her devil fruit for hours on end.
Marsh wasn’t exactly sure when he had first realised something was wrong, but since then things had just gotten progressively worse.
He never should have taken Mila to a place he didn’t know very well.
He never should have let her let go of his hand.
He never should have let her look around unaccompanied.
Could’ve, should’ve, would’ve.
Because Marsh forgets, sometimes- he forgets who Mila is to the world. She’s too involved in politics to go unnoticed anymore, even delivering for admirals on occasion, but to Marsh?
He wants his kit to feel unburdened. Wants Mila to not have to think about all that when he spends time with her.
Today Marsh slipped up and wasn’t thinking of it, either.
She’s his girl to protect- even more so since she met Law.
Law.
What the hell was Marsh supposed to tell him? Everything he thought of sounded thick and inadequate. The words of a failure.
The desperate excuses of a scared little boy.
That knifepoint terror wormed in just a little deeper to his gut.
Back at the market, Marsh had heard Mila crying out.
He’d know her distress anywhere, but the crowd had been too thick, and he’d come hurtling into the secluded alleyway just in time to be too late.
Her hat with an ink blotted note was all that remained. Someone had seen her with him. Someone had planted this for Marsh to find.
A violence not senseless, but sensible. As sensible as invoking Marsh Linwood’s rage could be, anyway.
Marsh now turned that note over and over in his hands. It had given a time and a number. Cheap, nasty ransom tactics, making you call. Making you submit yourself to them.
He already knew the number by heart.
He was just waiting for the time.
~
Four, five, six- on the seventh ring, the transponder snail finally went through.
Marsh was silent, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose, folding his hands together and resting his chin on them. He steadied his nerves as he steadied his voice.
“This is Linwood.” Marsh stated flatly.
“You the one with Cottontail earlier?”
A woman’s voice, with a stuffy nasal accent that Marsh couldn’t quite place.
“Correct.” Marsh could hear his pulse in his ears. It was a fight to not start raising his voice, to start screaming down the line, demanding Mila’s whereabouts and insisting on her kidnappers slow and gruesome deaths.
“Cool. Want her back?”
The flippancy with which the woman was talking was fucking infuriating.
“Obviously.” Marsh spoke through a clenched jaw.
“Great. Works for us. What else, what else…” the voice trailed off, murmuring. “Oh yeah, assurance.”
There was a scuffling sound, some rustling and some noises that Marsh couldn’t quite place, until there was one noise that he would know anywhere, and it made his blood turn to ice in his veins.
It was Mila’s crying.
“Go on. Say something.”
Marsh heard the woman’s quiet urging in the background.
“Go on, he needs an incentive to come get you. Go on.”
Marsh was just about to interject, Mila finally, mercifully said something.
“Marsh…?” She croaked, voice strained with tension and exhaustion.
Every hair on Marsh’s body stood upright.
“Kit? It’s me-“ His fists clenched in his lap.
“Marsh-!” Came the small wail from Mila’s end of the transponder snail.
“Don’t be scared.” Marsh knew he didn’t have much time, he wanted to reassure her, wanted to be there, wanted to stain his hands with the blood of absolutely everyone involved in this. “I’m coming to get you, alright, I-“
“Marsh,” Came Mila’s voice again, plaintive and thick with tears, delivering the next sentence that would send Marsh’s adrenaline pounding through the roof.
“They’re hurting me.”
Pairing: Damon Salvatore x OFC
Warning: just people dying and stuff
As Lucy finished drinking, Damon shifted their positions so she was sat up though she still trembled from pain and fear. Her gaze moved from him to the kidnapper. “You pushed me,” Lucy said, remembering the impact that sent her forward just as the wolf lunged at Damon. She was thrilled he hadn’t been bit, but the vampire bitch could have sacrificed herself instead.
Damon frowned and looked between the two women. “What?”
“She pushed me in front of the wolf,” Lucy clarified.
Rose held up her hands in a gesture of innocence. “I don’t know what she’s talking about. Why would I do that?”
He looked at her a beat longer before shaking his head. “She’s confused. That’s all.” He pushed Lucy’s hair behind her ear, ignoring the glare she gave him. He moved the neck of her shirt aside to see her wound.
“How is it?” Rose asked.
Damon ignored her as he focused on his human. “How you feeling, baby?”
“Good. Better,” she said with a nod of her head.
He smiled and took her hand in his to kiss the back of it. Then in a blink, he slammed Rose against the wall and buried his hand in her chest.
The elder vampire gasped. “Why?”
He leaned toward her. “I told you once if you hurt my human I would rip your heart out and shove it down your throat. I’d hate to think I’m not a man of my word.” With a yank, he held her heart in his hand and she slumped to the ground.
Lucy blinked as she looked between him and the corpse at his feet. Damon stared down at the body, his jaw tight and anger flashing in his eyes. After a long moment, he looked up. “You okay, kitten?”
She ran a hand through her hair. “I seriously thought you didn’t believe me.”
He huffed a laugh as he dropped the heart and cleaned his hands on his shirt. “As if I’d take anyone’s word over yours. I just wanted to make sure she didn’t disappear while I took care of you.”
She held her hands above her head so he could pull her to her feet. He took the hint, but didn’t release her once she was one her feet. Instead, he tugged her against him and wrapped his arms around her as he buried his face in her neck. “I’m so sorry, Lucy. I’m so, so sorry. I never meant for you to get hurt.”
She let herself sink into him and returned the embrace. “I know you didn’t, baby. This is on that werewolf bitch, not you. And as much as I never want to experience anything like that again, I’m really glad it wasn’t you that got bit. I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
“Hopefully, you’ll never have to find out.” He kissed the top of her head. “Why don’t you go get cleaned up while I take care of this mess.”
She nodded and leaned back, not willing to let go of him yet. “Where’s Stefan and Care, anyway?”
Damon rolled his eyes. “I don’t know. Something about date night and stars and a rooftop somewhere. I quit listening when Stef goes all romance hero on me.”
Lucy smirked and shook her head as she stepped away, not releasing him from her touch until absolutely necessary. She wrapped her arms around her waist as a shiver rolled through her. She really needed to quit this brush with death shit. It was getting old. Maybe she should do what Elijah wanted and leave town. She was taking the Salvatores and Caroline with her if she did though.
She wrinkled her nose at the thought. She couldn’t abandon Elijah either. She sighed as she turned on the water in the shower and stripped her clothes. Life would be so much simpler if she just didn’t give a shit about people.
Just as she finished lathering the shampoo in her hair, a sharp, piercing pain lanced through her just above her collarbone. She jerked back until she pressed against the cool tile behind her. A quick inspection showed nothing amiss and the pain left as suddenly as it came. Weird. It must have been some remnant of the injury healing itself. She hurried through the rest of her shower on the off chance it happened again.
She dried herself off and wrapped the towel around her body. Almost as soon as she stepped out of the shower, white hot agony flared from her shoulder and brought her to her knees. What the hell was happening. She panted as she tried to swallow back waves of nausea. Her hand flew to the source of the pain on instinct. Fear swamped her as the rough texture of an injury appeared beneath her palm. This couldn’t be happening. Damon had healed her.
Lucy took a deep breath before moving her hand away. The previously healed bite mark was gaping open, raw and red. It looked old and infected. And it hurt, gods it hurt. She turned her head and vomited on the floor before calling for Damon. Her voice was weak, cracking. She cleared her throat before yelling his name again.
In seconds, he appeared in the room. “What is it? What’s wrong?”
She looked up to meet his frightened gaze. “It’s back.”
His face paled and he was knelt by her side in a blink. He turned her so he could get a better look at the wound. “No. No. No.”
His panicked eyes ran over face, taking in her features as he thought. He pulled out his phone as he sat and tugged her against his side. With one hand he dialed a number while the other arm wrapped around her shoulders.
“You need to get here now,” he said when the call was answered. “It’s Lucy.” He hung up without waiting for a response and swept his girl up in his arms to carry her to the bed. He laid her on top of the covers before hurrying around the room gathering things together.
Her eyes followed him, but she was afraid to ask questions. Terrified if she opened her mouth she’d either vomit again or scream in pain. In a beat he was by her side helping her slip on a pair of underwear. “Let’s get you decent,” he said quietly. “Uncle Elijah is coming.”
He sat her up carefully and she tried to swallow her whimpers. She failed miserably if Damon’s flinching was any indication. He slid a t-shirt over her head that he’d cut a slit into so the wound was more accessible then helped her lay back down.
Sweat beaded on her skin and she groaned in discomfort. “It’s so hot, Day.”
Another blink and he was wiping her face down with a cool rag. “Just stay with me, baby. We’ll get you through this.”
She wanted to believe him. She did. But she couldn’t stop the sobs as the pain leeched from her shoulder into the rest of her body. After what felt like an eternity, a large hand cupped the side of her face and she blinked her eyes open. Elijah’s warm brown eyes looked her over. He gave her a small smile trying to comfort her, but it didn’t come close to reaching those eyes. His gaze moved from her to Damon. “What happened? Leave nothing out.”
Her eyes drifted closed again as she listened to Damon recount the events of the evening, including Rose’s overdue end. “Have you seen anything like this before?” he asked when he finished.
Lucy’s eyes fluttered open to find Elijah still looking her over. He pursed his lips with a sigh. “I have. But not in humans. She’s reacting to the bite as a vampire would.”
Damon shook his head. “That doesn’t make any sense.”
“Something in vampire blood mixes with the werewolf venom and acts like a toxin. I can only assume that when you gave her your blood to heal her, it initiated the same reaction in her.” Elijah pushed her hair behind her ear and kissed her forehead.
“So when the blood’s out of her system, she’ll be fine, right?”
His eyes moved from Lucy back to Damon. “If she makes it that long.”
“What?” Damon shouted. “You can’t mean that. I had to heal her. She wouldn’t have made it otherwise.”
The Original worked a muscle in his jaw. “I do not doubt your assessment of the situation. The fact remains, however that we still may lose her. Human’s have a weaker immune system. I can’t possibly predict how the poison will affect her. If she dies, she may not come back at all. If she does, it will only be to die again as the toxin will still be coursing through her veins.”
“Don’t tell me there’s nothing we can do,” Damon said, frustrated tears leaking from his eyes.
“There is one thing, but it will take time. Take care of her until I return.” He bent and pressed another kiss to her temple. “I will get you your cure, little one, even if I must sacrifice all my plans to do so. Just hold on for me.” And in a flash, he was gone.
Tumblr media
Hours passed and Lucy found herself wrapped in Damon’s arms as he leaned against the headboard with her wrapped in his arms. Sweat beaded her pale skin and soaked through her clothes. She couldn’t keep anything down, not even water. Every part of her ached and she was disoriented enough that she’d drifted off more than once only to not know where she was when she awoke.
“Where else do you want to go?” Damon asked in a low voice.
Lucy smiled. He’d been trying to distract her by planning an epic road trip. “What about Yosemite? I want to see those giant trees.” Her voice was rough, raw, but she would keep talking to him for as long as she was able.
He tightened his arms a bit. “The redwoods? Yeah, they’re impressive. Even more so if you see them at hundred year intervals. It’s amazing how much some things can change and how much other things stay the same.”
Another jolt of pain went through her and she coughed in discomfort. Damon rubbed her back as she sat up to finish coughing. “You’re okay, baby. I’m here.”
“Have you heard from Eijah?” she asked for the hundredth time as she resumed her previous position.
He lifted one of her hands to his lips and kissed the back of it. “Not since the text that said he’s working on it. That was a couple of hours ago.”
“What’s the emergency? And why did I have to drop Caroline of at her mom’s?” Stefan’s voice drifted into the room before he appeared in the doorway. His jaw dropped and his face turned lighter than its normal pale. “Lucy? What the hell happened?” He was beside the bed in an instant, kneeling next to it. His worried gaze darted between her and his brother.
“If this is how long it takes you to respond to an emergency text, I’d hate to see how long it takes you to respond to a regular one.” Damon sounded bitter.
“We had our phones off. Now, what happened?” Stefan asked again.
Lucy looked at him but didn’t answer. If she opened her mouth she was going to vomit. Again. She closed her eyes and hot tears ran down her cheeks.
“Werewolf,” Damon answered. “Turn a little so I can show Stef, baby.”
She shifted a little and he pulled back the neck of the t-shirt where he’d cut it. Stefan hissed in a breath. “I thought the bite was only toxic to vampires.”
Damon helped her get settled back into a comfortable position. “Yeah, that was something of a shocker. I gave her my blood to heal her and it apparently turned the bite toxic. She’s reacting like a vampire would.”
“Can we fix it?” Stefan’s voice was quiet, worried.
“Elijah is working on it,” Damon said.
“And why can’t Caroline be here? You know she’ll be devastated if something happens and she’s not here,” Stefan argued and Damon tensed beneath her.
He pressed a kiss to her head and shifted the around until he was out from underneath her and she was laying on his pillows. “I’m going to go talk to Stefan for a minute, baby. I’ll get you some fresh water and we’ll try to drink again, okay?”
Lucy gave a little nod and watched the brothers walk out the door. They shut it behind them, obviously not wanting her to overhear them discussing her impending death. She drew her knees up to her chest and wrapped her arms around them as she whimpered.
The door opened and Elena walked in. Lucy frowned wondering who thought this visit was a good idea. “Elena,” she managed to say by way of greeting though it was little more than a whisper.
The girl smirked. “Nice guess, but I’m not Elena.”
Panic flared through Lucy. She wasn’t in any shape to face Katherine and survive. She couldn’t fight and she didn’t even know where her guns were at the moment. Shoving down the pain as well as she could, she scrambled backward in the bed until she fell to the floor with a thud. Agony tore through her with the impact but she kept pushing. Katherin stalked toward her as Lucy pushed herself toward Damon’s closet. Finally, she made it inside and shut the door before locking it. It was supposed to act as a safe room of sorts if she was even in trouble. The goal was to delay any attacker long enough for help to reach her.
Getting to her knees, Lucy opened the top drawer of Damon’s dresser. Shoving aside the clothes, she grabbed the stake he kept hidden there. They were stashed all over the house for her protection and she’d never been more grateful. Grasping the wood in her hand, she scooted back into the corner hoping the hanging clothes would hide her a little.
The doorknob rattled. “Just let me in, Lucy, and it will be over in a moment.”
She squeezed her eyes shut and wished for Damon. A low growl reverberated through the closet and she whimpered in response.
“There’s a friend here to see you,” Katherine taunted. “Don’t be scared, she just wants to finish what she started.”
Claws scratched at the door and Lucy trembled, both in fear and from the cold. One of Damon’s dress shirts laid on the floor and she grabbed it. With some painful maneuvering, she managed to slip it on and immediately felt better.
The door knob rattled again. “Lucy?” Katherine called.
“Leave me alone,” she tried to yell but it came out as little more than a whimper.
A fist pounded against the door. “Open the damn door, Lucy.”
Horrible, hot burning pain flooded her and she curled up on her side on the floor. A pained sound accompanied her every breath but she kept the stake clasped in front of her. There was a cracking sound and the door burst open. She buried her head in her arms and waited for it to be over. Fingers gripped hers and gently peeled them away from the stake.
Careful hands moved her arms away from her face and she blinked up to find Damon kneeling beside her. She started to cry. “Shh. It’s okay, baby. I’m here.” He picked her up and carried her back to the bed. “What happened?” he asked once they’d gotten settled.
“K-K-Katherine was here with the wolf. They were going to kill me,” she stuttered out between sobs.
Damon shushed her again and ran his hand up and down my arm. “Katherine wasn’t here, sweetheart. She’s still in the tomb. And it’s not a full moon so you’re safe from the wolves, too.” He kissed the side of her head. “The bite’s making you see things that aren’t there.”
He sat her up and lifted a glass of water to her lips. “Try to drink some water. You need it.” She sipped at the cool liquid, relishing in the icy sensation as it traveled to her stomach. Suddenly, she heaved and spit out the water she’d just drank.
She sank to her side on the bed and cried. Tears ran down her face and sobs racked her body making the pain flare through her again. “I’m sorry.”
He left her where she was but wrapped his arms around her. “There’s nothing to be sorry for. It’s fine.”
Agony worse than anything she’d ever experienced flared from her shoulder and burned through her. She was running out of time. She twisted and writhed in her vampire’s arms as she screamed. “Oh gods, it hurts. Please make it stop. I can’t take it. Just make it stop.”
Again, he shushed her, trying to comfort her with the sound and his presence. She vaguely registered he was crying as his tears dropped to mix with her own. After another round of screaming the pain subsided enough she could relax a little.
“Sleep, Lucy. Try to find some peace. I’ll wake you if I hear from Elijah.”
Her eyes drifted shut and much to her surprise, she was able to find sleep even if it was only for a short while. It didn’t take long to realize she was dreaming when she found herself standing on top of a familiar cliff looking at the ocean beyond.
“I used to come here with my dad,” Lucy said, feeling Damon’s presence as he stepped up behind her. “He about had a heart attack the first time I cliff dived from here.” She chuckled and turned to face her vampire.
“I never would have taken you for a cliff diver.”
She shrugged. “It shouldn’t surprise you. I voluntarily hang out with vampires. Obviously, I’m an adrenaline junkie.”
He smiled but it didn’t reach his eyes. “The view is nice from here.”
“Nice?” she scoffed. “This view is amazing. It needs to go on our road trip list.” She sat on the edge with her feet dangling over. Damon sat beside her and took her hand in his. “How much longer?’ she asked.
“For what?”
“I know this isn’t real, Damon. How much longer do I have before it’s too late?” She didn’t want to die. Didn’t want to leave him.
He shook his head. “Doesn’t matter because it’s not going to happen. Elijah will get here in time.”
She didn’t respond. It wouldn’t do either of them any good to point out that her uncle might not make it. That this might be the first and last time he failed her. Damon stiffened then squeezed her hand and turned to face her. “Time to wake up, baby. Elijah’s back.”
Sayo's Route: Dark Fate - Dark Prologue
Tumblr media
Sayo's Route Masterlist
-Shin is dragging Yui through the hallway of the Tsukinami mansion
Yui: Where is Sayo?! What have you done with her?
Shin: I’m taking you to her right now. It’s easier to explain things only once.
Yui: I see…
-Carla is waiting outside the guest room Sayo is in. She’s still banging on the door
Shin: I’m surprised she hasn’t broken the door down yet.
Carla: Haah…Not for a lack of trying.
Shin: Settle down! We’re coming in, so move away from the door.
Sayo: …!
-When the door opens, Sayo’s eyes widen when she sees Yui. Yui rushes to her side
Sayo: Yui…! You were caught too…?
Yui: Yes…I’m sorry, Sayo…This happened to you because of me…
Sayo: Don’t be. I was the one who told you to run.
-Sayo turns to glare at Carla and Shin
Sayo: What the hell do you two want with us?
Carla: You do not need to know the specifics. All you need to know is that you belong to us now. It is pointless to escape and those vampires will not be coming to rescue you.
Yui: W-What…?
Sayo: Excuse me? You expect me to go along with this?
Yui: E-Exactly…! I can’t just accept that!
Carla: It seems some training is necessary…
-Carla grabs Yui, dragging her from the room
Sayo: Yui!
-She moves to go after them, but Shin stops her
Shin: Not so fast. Nii-san put me in charge of you. Your little friend belongs to him now, so you can’t go and intervene.
Sayo: Tch…
Shin: I expected you to talk back since you tried to fight us earlier, but we both thought she would be obedient considering how those vampires toy with her…That’s probably why Nii-san wants to train her immediately. I should do the same since you didn’t immediately obey as well, you know.
-Sayo sits down, crossing her arms over her chest as she glares at him
Shin: We know plenty about that one, but we only discovered you by chance. Seems like those vampires you lived with showed up to look for you at the manor we took you both from. So? Why were you living with them? Were you prey, just like her?
Sayo: If you don’t know, I don’t have to tell you, now do I?
Shin: You won’t say? What’s the point in keeping quiet unless there’s something you want to hide? I’ll bet you were just like her. You’re lucky your death rid you of that vampire stench that clung to you or I would have dropped you in the lake or something to get rid of it.
Sayo: Oh, good for me…I won’t tell you because I don’t owe a kidnapper any explanation.
Shin: Che…So that’s how you’re going to be?
-Mertz suddenly enters the room
Mertz: Shin-sama…
Shin: What do you want? Can’t you see I’m busy?
Mertz: I have information on that girl. I thought you might be interested in it.
Shin: Oh? Guess I’ll find out whether you like it or not.
Sayo: Hmph…
Mertz: She was a potential bride to the Sakamaki family. She was living with them for about a year before she disappeared. The vampires who were looking for her are the Mukami brothers. She is dating one of them. He brought her back after she disappeared and she is now living with them. I was unable to find out the details, but it seems she is important to some plan Karlheinz is working on.
Shin: Oh? You were unfortunate enough to be a bride for those vampires? My guess is Karlheinz is using her because she’s half Founder. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was the one who put the seal on her in the first place.
Merz: You are very clever, Shin-sama. I imagine you are correct.
Shin: Is that all?
Merz: The only other thing I could find out is that she was not very…well, cooperative. She rarely allowed them to drink her blood and would try to fight back if they attempted to force her.
Shin: Considering she pulled a knife on me and Nii-san, I can’t say I’m surprised.
Sayo: Speaking of my knife, where is it?
Shin: Oh, this?
-He pulls it out of his pocket, holding it up. She jumps up, trying to take it from him
Sayo: Give it back…!
Shin: Not gonna happen. Don’t want you trying to stab us in our sleep. Not that you could kill us. I don’t get it. You deny those guys but then go off and date a different vampire? And from the stench of those ones, they weren’t even purebloods.
Sayo: What does it matter to you?
Shin: Che…! When I ask you a question, I want an answer.
Sayo: Heh…Well, I’m not always going to give one, so get used to it.
Merz: Shin-sama…it was love, perhaps? I imagine that is the only reason a girl like this would willingly stay with a vampire.
Sayo: Tch…Shut the hell up! You’re just some random guy who showed up, so don’t act like you know me.
Shin: If you don’t have anything more to report, get out of my sight, will ya?!
Merz: …! Y-Yes, Shin-sama…
-Merz leaves
Shin: Heh…Ahaha! So you loved him? A non pure blooded vampire, the lowest of the low? Even if you are a halfbreed, you do have Founder’s blood in your veins. You should have more respect for yourself than that.
-She glares at him
Sayo: Oh, self respect, is that really your problem? So you’re saying I should drop him and be with someone like you instead?
-He stops, looking her up and down before smirking
Shin: Heh…That’s exactly what I’m saying. You can’t escape here, so just forget about that guy. Nii-san put me in charge of you anyway, so think of me as his replacement.
Sayo: Hmph…As if. I don’t go around replacing the people I care about.
Shin: Che…You say that now, but I’ll make you give up on that guy before you know it.
Sayo: Not likely. Don’t waste your time.
-Shin grabs her, pinning her against the wall. She attempts to struggle, but is unable to get out of his grip
Shin: Give it up. A halfbreed will never be stronger than me. I may not be stronger than Nii-san because he’s the king of us Founders, but I am a close second. It’s pointless to fight against me.
Sayo: When I first moved there, the Sakamakis said it was pointless to fight against them too, but I did it anyway. And guess what? As a human, I was still able to defy them. Even if I was still a human, I would still try to fight back against you. I’m not the type to just lie down and take it.
-Shin grabs her hair, pulling her head back
Sayo: Ouch…!
-She reaches back to try to stop him
Shin: That’s right, it hurts. This will be a painful experience for you if you don’t learn some obedience. I don’t mind being sweet to you if you learn to live wrapped around my finger.
Sayo: Like hell…!
-Shin yanks her hair, pulling her head back even further before biting her neck
Sayo: Ngh!
Shin: Nn….Haah….I was hoping your death might have cleansed your blood, but it’s disgusting after all…
Sayo: Then here’s an idea…stop drinking it.
Shin: Nn…If only that were an option…Your blood is corrupted because of those vampires…Phew…We have to cleanse it by sucking out the poison.
Sayo: Is that part of your big secret plan?
Shin: Hehe…It is. But I’m not telling you anymore than that.
-He takes a step back before grabbing her chin, pulling her face up closer to his
Shin: I don’t hate those defiant eyes of yours…but I can tell your boyfriend’s fangs have given you pleasure. I look forward to the day you’ll be writhing underneath me as I suck your blood, your eyes filled with guilt as you cry out for more.
-Her cheeks flush bright red
Sayo: There’s no way in hell!
Shin: Hehe…Don’t be so sure. I don’t need to train you to behave. I’ll break you instead. Before long, you’ll forget all about your boyfriend.
-All she does is glare
Shin: This is your room. Like Nii-san said earlier, don’t bother with trying to escape. You can’t leave this mansion. I’ll be back soon.
-Shin leaves the room
Sayo: That bastard…!
-Shin goes to meet with Carla
Shin: Nii-san, how did it go?
Carla: She will require some training…and her blood will require immense cleansing. It is thoroughly tainted.
Shin: Well…we guessed as much from her scent.
Carla: What about the other woman?
Shin: Her death didn’t do anything about her tainted blood, so she’ll need to be cleansed as well.
Carla: Mertz reported to me as well what he found out about her background. I can’t imagine she’ll be very cooperative. Will you be able to handle her?
Shin: Of course. Don’t worry, you can leave her to me. She’s stubborn, but I found a way to get under her skin. It’ll only be a matter of time before she submits to me…and it should be amusing in the meantime.
Carla: Don’t play around too much. You mustn’t forget our goal.
Shin: I won’t forget. But it will be worth it to get her to submit. She may be a halfbreed, but at least we’ll have a female Founder.
Carla: I suppose…Do what you want, then.
Shin: I will.
