His Sun
Summary: After the Monarchy, the Emperor takes Lorgar's wife as punishment. He finds out that she is pregnant and for the first time in millennia remembers love.
Emperor and Lorgar's daughter (OC, platonic), Lorgar/fem!Reader
Warnings: yandere, obsession, kidnapping
Word count: 729
Song: Rammstein - Sonne
This fic was born because of this beautiful post.
Of all His sons, Lorgar was most like Him. Every detail of the appearance was amazingly similar. Even facial expressions. And it was this son who became the biggest disappointment. The Primarch of the Word Bearers was too slow to annex worlds to the Imperium. He tried too hard to restore the planets by staying on them for a long time.
But worst of all was the cult of worship of the Emperor as God. The Emperor could not allow such... heresy to spread. Fully aware of what lies the Warp. And the decision to destroy the Monarchy was carried out immediately. Besides Lorgar’s “wife” on Terra will serve as a good lesson for the primarch. He is a weapon, not a man.
The fact that the mortal was pregnant... The Emperor was not a monster. He had no intention of killing a child, especially in the womb. But it could become a hindrance. A distraction for Lorgar. Fortunately, although the child was affected by the warp, it was much less than the primarchs due to a mortal mother. In addition, it later turned out that it was supposed to be born a girl. She won't be much of a hindrance.
Or rather, that's what He thought.
The creation of the primarchs was pragmatic. They were created to protect humanity. The Emperor had no intention of getting rid of them and even planned to create a comfortable life for them on Terra... of course, after they had completed their task. For some of His sons He even felt a similar feeling of affection. Especially to Horus.
But this girl. This girl was not born according to the plan of the Emperor or Chaos. The natural way. She had no task other than just to live. And when the Emperor heard the triumphant cry of life. Something broke in Him. He remembered.
He once had children. Real and beloved from mortal women. In times of peace, when he gave up trying to move humanity forward and allowed the Earth to develop on its own. He adored them and raised them with dignity and intelligence. His sons were His pride. Although He liked girls more. They always looked at their dad with such adoration.
And they all died. They all left Him. And it hurts. A void that nothing can fill. He could no longer allow Himself to love. And yet, seeing this girl, knowing that she should have lived longer because of her father, if not live forever... He gave up.
He simply could not help but look at her sleeping in her cradle. He couldn't help but sing her songs from His childhood. Hold her in His arms. Kiss her forehead when she starts crying. She developed so slowly, so normally, completely humanly. She needed all of His care and love.
Lorgar will get his “wife” back as soon as he starts leading the Crusade properly. A mortal woman was of no value to the Emperor. But the daughter will distract the primarch. He should not hear her first word, see her first steps, tell fairy tales, teach her the wisdom of life, console her and give her his soul.
But the Emperor can do this.
He will make sure that Lorgar's daughter has the best of everything on Terra. His little sun will be raised with dignity in a beautiful Palace. He will help her find her path and purpose, but only on the condition that she will be by His side. Of course, someday a girl will want romance and build her own family. But it won’t be soon and the Emperor will come up with something.
The girl bursts into laughter as soon as her stomach is tickled. Soon her teeth will begin to cut and her wonderful eyes will become moist with tears. But He will always help relieve her pain as long as she is happy. He smiles back, continuing to bathe her small body, continuing His story about centaurs. She doesn’t understand Him yet, but that doesn’t stop Him from having a conversation with her.
He will show her all the wonders of the world. His little treasure will see all the beauty of the galaxy and grow up in a world where humanity will flourish. They will have so much time. A month of Sundays.
He will never let His daughter go.

hi sweet girl. hope you’re doing well. was wondering what the gfs would be like as mothers?
hihi! I'm doing alright. just taking this weekend to be sick and sleepy. I wasn't gonna write bc no brain power but then I saw this ask and it felt manageable + we've talked about the boys as dads but the girls as moms is just <333
we have to start with love, for obvious reasons. she's the super fashionable young mom. saoirse is basically a carbon copy of love, and loves getting dressed up to match with her mama <3 dain looks the other way every time they come home with new clothes. and of course she's teaching her daughter tyrrish along with the common language. (and then later on dain is teaching her some of the other languages he knows, too.) because she has her daughter so early in her life, she's definitely going to struggle at first (especially given her other issues too) but after a while and some help from her village, she's taking it all in stride and just goes about life with a baby on her hip. soairse is coming with her everywhere, including strategy meetings for the assembly.
I see brennan and duchess as being the next ones to have kids after dain and love, because they're older and more settled down. she's gonna have two perfect little boys that look just like bren (any guesses on their names?) and maybe one more after that. she's also teaching them both languages, and really valuing academics / reading / etc. and of course they both love dragons, but when they get older, she and brennan are going to have a heartfelt convo with them about how they shouldn't feel pressured to become riders (because while I love to believe basgiath will be reformed by the end of this series, it's still going to be dangerous) and they will love their children no matter what they decide to do.
garrick and angel are gonna have a full house. at least three kids, probably four. (cue all the jokes about her being a life-bringer...) she's raising them to respect all living things and plants and animals, and to not be afraid of digging in the dirt. half her kids have her shy sweet personality and the other half take after garrick and his jokes. and of course she's the go-to for any scraped knees or all those other little childhood injuries that felt like the end of the world.
darling already knows what she's doing (mostly) since she's been the parentified eldest child to her brother and sister who are a lot younger than her. she's one of the people who helped love the most in the beginning, and love's gonna return the favor for her of course bc they're besties. I see her having 2-3 boys who are all sweet little mini-bodhi's. they're all raised to be gentlemanly and treat women right, because they have mister wife-guy himself, bodhi durran, as an example 24/7. darling is going places in her career, but she will always make time for her bbs.
peach is another that is on the up and up with her career as a healer, but her and sy are still making time for their kids. I see her and sy having two little girls who are just a little bit wild (they get this from peach. you'll see what I'm talking about in a few chapters). I don't know exactly which direction RY is gonna go with sawyer's injury, but it would be cute to see them kinda settled down with sawyer running the forge and her in the infirmary, and a few littles running around. they're definitely getting her mentality of "do no harm but take no shit" and like gare and angel's kids, being a mix of both parents, seeing the value of offense and defense (can you tell I'm writing this while watching a football game?)
sunny is probably gonna end up as the queen of navarre. however, comma, she's doing the work herself. she's not gonna be like those rich / royal parents who pass the kids off to a nanny all the time and only see them once a day. her and cam are spending as much time with them as they can, which is definitely helping heal his inner child from being the low-priority, third son who "wasn't important" since he wasn't the heir or the backup. and while they may be rich and royal from their dad's side, she came from nothing, and is going to talk about that with them openly and teach them to respect everyone despite their standing / not spoil them rotten either.
I don't see ridoc and sweets having kids for quite some time, or maybe not at all. they're fine being the fun aunt and uncle, especially to sawyer's kids. but if/when they do have kids... just think about rid calling a little daughter "snowflake"... it's that time of the month and I'm emotional okay
spark is also stuck in the fun aunt category unfortunately :( but I could definitely see her helping take care of sloane's kids if she has them. and she's the one all of the aforementioned kids are calling when something goes wrong and they need an adult that isn't their parents (especially when they're teenagers and are up to no good.)
#liz.txt#answered#girlfriendverse#dain and love#brennan and duchess#garrick and angel#bodhi and darling#sawyer and peach#aaric and sunny#ridoc and sweetheart#liam and spark#<- not really but...

Aang was indeed a bad father. It's way past time we stopped making excuses for him.
An all too common defense for Aang is the fact that he's a monk and is not well-versed in how parenting looks. Yeah! No shit! But do you know who is well-versed? Katara! They talk as if Aang is a single parent like Toph but he is not. Katara's been on Aang's side since the day they met, always stood up for him, always complimented him.
Is this really the thanks she gets? Are they really that disinterested in explaining Katara's side of the story? As if her not getting a statue wasn't insulting enough.
Another major flaw in this defense is that Aang is not just a monk. He's the avatar. This means, part of mastering all elements also means embodying all of the ideologies based on said elements. That includes elements/ideologies completely opposite of his own. His daughter's crack about Aang "cutting and running when things get tough" shows that he's learned absolutely nothing.
We never truly see him master all the elements, he just gets them and, more or less, calls it a day. I'm even beginning to doubt that he's truly mastered his default airbending and he just got his tattoos prematurely because the monks were impressed with his scooter invention.
Zuko got the privilege of understanding the ideologies of other nations, allowing him to grow, and unlearn any toxic masculinity lessons through them, and would blow a gasket if he ever saw a kid get mistreated by a parent in any way. Is it really any wonder why Zuko is the more popular character and the most requested choice for Katara, in comparison to Aang?
using the "but he was a monk!" argument to excuse aang's bad parenting is fucking baffling to me. even leaving aside that aang did have a father figure (or are we collectively ignoring monk gyatso?), i don't think you need to witness fatherhood in action to understand that showing preferential treatment to one of your children is a messed up thing to do. that seems like the kind of thing that should be common sense, especially when you're best friends with the guy who's walking proof of what happens when you play favourites with your kids.
truthfully, i also don't fully agree with katara being able to compensate for aang's supposed lack of knowledge. while i do believe katara was a good mother, and i don't think it was her responsibility to teach her own husband how to be a good parent, i have my doubts about how much, if ever, katara called aang out on his behaviour towards bumi and kya. if their relationship in atla was any indication, i suspect katara very much turned a blind eye (or at most tried to gently suggest that aang pay more attention to bumi and kya) to aang's flaws in this area, as she (unfortunately) does in most others. that's one of the reasons i was never able to get onboard with kat.aang, because katara is the only one of the gaang who is never able to meaningfully challenge aang, even when he desperately needs it. (the only time i recall her trying to push him to do something he doesn't want is in sozin's comet when the fate of the literal world depended upon it. not a good omen, methinks.)
the katara we knew in atla might not have idly sat by while aang favored his airbending child over the others, but the seeds for who she turns out to be in lok are already planted. it's not a stretch to see how katara's blind faith in aang, and her unwillingness to confront his flaws, could have easily led her down the path to the woman who would fail to stop her husband from neglecting two of their children.
it's no surprise that aang in lok is repeating all the same mistakes he did in atla, because his character arc came to a screeching halt at the start of book 3 and was never picked back up again. how are we meant to believe that aang ever became the avatar (yknow, the embodiment of all four nations in one) when he was still, at the very end of the show, prioritizing the values of one nation over the others?
truly the shocker of the century that people might prefer katara to be with a character who had a believable arc with well-written development and a satisfying conclusion, instead of the narrative equivalent of a brick wall.

When people are like "all Azula wanted was love!"
...and to subjugate the Earth Kingdom. She also very much wanted that.
I'm seeing so many posts about her dream in that Spirit Temple preview that ignore that in her dream, she's being praised not just by the people she wants praise from, but specifically she is being praised for conquering ba sing se by Iroh, becoming fire lord by Ursa, and killing the Avatar by Zuko.
In real life, the reason why she doesn't get that praise is not because these people hate her unfairly, it's because those are actions she does not deserve praise for.
Like, so many people are missing the point, which is that Azula still thinks that if only she were successful and powerful, everyone would love her. She thinks that her mother would love her if she were fire lord, when in reality, her mother already loves her, but tried to teach her kindness, lessons which Azula rejected. She thinks that Iroh would love her if she conquered Ba Sing Se and Zuko would love her if she killed the Avatar, when in reality, they had to stop her from doing those things.
Instead of realizing that she needs to change her values, Azula blames the people around her for not aligning with those values. If only THEY would change, not her.
I think it's interesting that of the group in her dream, Ozai is the only one saying things he would actually say in reality, exclaiming "my favorite child!" but of course the reality is that he is imprisoned and that his favoritism is empty and abusive.
It kinda makes me wonder why, in this fantasy, she doesn't imagine her father telling her he loves her, instead of "my favorite child"? I feel like the reason is because even in a fantasy she can't admit to herself that her father never really loved her, that he was abusive and that the things he made her do and want were wrong. So instead, she imagines a scenario where everyone else is wrong and she gets praised for being the daughter Ozai made her into.
And she can continue going on being the favorite. One of the most interesting things about the dream is Zuko's lack of a scar, but that also highlights the wrongness of everything. Zuko sitting next to Ozai, scarless and placid while Ozai calls Azula his favorite child is perverse for one because it's wrong for a parent to talk about their children in front of each other that way, but most importantly, Zuko's scarring was caused by Ozai's favoritism. As I said in that other post, there is no world where Azula gets to be the favorite where Zuko isn't hurt, because in the golden child / scapegoat dynamic, the golden child cannot exist without the scapegoat. The reality is also that Ozai roped Azula into his abuse of Zuko as part of making her the favorite. The reality is that Azula cheered when she saw her brother burned, because it meant she was still the favorite.
Azula imagining her brother without a scar might be a manifestation of caring for him deep down, but it's really a manifestation of the things she's still in denial about, and one of those things is that Ozai used his favoritism of her to justify hurting her brother. She might, somewhere in her subconscious, feel guilty for the part she played, for cheering when he was scarred, but she hasn't yet reached the point where she can actually admit that what happened was wrong, and that's still an issue.

The Spirit
Prologue Ch1 Ch3
Pairing: Older! Neteyam x reader
Summary: now that the war was brought to the sea clans the sullys aswell as the metekayina family that gifted them uturu, decided to run, this time farther, not just a days travel, but nearly a weeks worth, towards the end they were met with dense mountains, and then they found a tribe of navi, with wings, and they learn about the tsyal people and about the original navi.
Warnings: none, use of non cannon na’vi words
Word count:2.5k
Notes: i mainly focus on world building and what the tsyal clans traditions and ways of living are so it’s probably a bit boring but i hope you guys like it 💋
The first morning after their arrival the forest and reef na’vi were gathered by Tehe’Ewna “Today will be your first impressions of the clan for today we are going to take you to the cove of tales, if you want to live among us you must understand us, learn our core values, our way of life, our stories, and our traditions. These are things that will be essential to living among us and being able to adjust.” Tehe’Ewna even spoke with grace, her words flowing together in a melody, “this will take up your first week before we move on to having you learn our ways physically, though before body must come spirit.”
As she explained what the plan was he became curious. when the sully’s had arrived to the metkayina it was almost immediately he was learning to breath to dive and to live in the water, there had been little to no spiritual teachings other than going to the cove of ancestor’s since most clans had nearly identical spiritual practices, it made Neteyam wonder just how different this clan was.
It was not a long walk to the cove, it was a relatively short path from the ground caves that were their new homes to the deeper part of the clan where the entrance was located at the base of one of the surrounding mountains.
inside was narrow winding tunnel also relatively short, it widened as they got closer to the destination and inside was a circular cave clearing in the mountain, the entrance itself was accentuated by a winding arch of vines.
There was a semi-circle of stones meant to be seating for times of storytelling, there were carving in the stone, intricate details, and the entirety of the cove was adorned with bioluminescent moss and fauna, illuminating the cove in an ethereal glow.
Woven tapestries hang along the rock walls of the cove alongside paintings, depicting stories and the history of the clan.
Small altars are placed at the base of a waterfall and along the edges of the cove.
Neteyam was awestruck, there was nothing like this in the metkayina nor the Omaticaya, as they all took seats the winged na’vi began “this is used as a home of stories and celebration, today we start at the beginning, the oldest and deepest of our tales, the phoenix.”
As she spoke, she drew their attention to the largest of paintings. from the back of someone, they were depicted with wings that were bigger than a young Ikran, horns taller than Neteyam’s head twice over, their wings were starched out to the fullest capacity, and they had a glow around them, small tendrils of magic.
“She was the first daughter of Eywa, she was created to keep the balance of Eywa’Eveng gifted with wings to soar through the skies and a soul deeply attuned to the life force that connected all things. For ages, she upheld her purpose, nurturing the natural balance and guiding the creatures Eywa had brought to life. But her loneliness became a persistent ache, leading her to yearn for beings who could walk, speak, and share her life in a way that Eywa’s animals could not. Among her wings and horns she was given a gift from Eywa above all else, she didn’t just protect balance, she was balance, in one hand she held life and creation, in the other she held death and destruction, so she went against the great mothers wish, and used this gift to birth the Tsyal and the na’vi race,”
the group was in awe, this was a tale they had never heard from any clan or elder, but they could sense she was being truthful in her words, “we were unlike anything Pandora had seen: graceful, intelligent, with wings and horns that reflected our creator. The Phoenix infused us with her wisdom, courage, and resilience, believing we would be her partners in upholding Pandora’s balance. Eywa, sensed this break in the natural order, grieved at the Phoenix’s defiance. She reminded her daughter that every life on Pandora was interconnected and that introducing a new species—one not woven directly by Eywa’s own hand—would create ripples in the delicate web of balance she maintained. Though Eywa did not destroy the Tsyal, she distanced herself from the Phoenix, trusting that her daughter, who was made from balance itself by the great mother’s own hand, would face the consequences” as she spoke, she had an air of passion, immersed in the story she told.
“This choice left the Phoenix with a profound sense of guilt. She had been created to nurture and protect the balance of Pandora, yet her own actions had introduced a new force within the ecosystem, one that came from her personal desires rather than Eywa’s vision. She had been driven by passion and yearning. We as a people were born of blessing and burden so intertwined one cannot be separated from the other, because of this the Tsyal dedicate ourselves in nurturing the balance, we address any imbalance such as over population personally, we always remain in tune with Eywa insuring to never go against her wish for balance and equilibrium. Every aspect of life has been cultivated to ensure this.” They were all captivated by this story no one more that Kiri.
“why would the phoenix go against Eywa if she was made to carry out the great mothers wishes?” Neteyam wondered the same of the first daughter, “she did not mean to, she was led by desire, and while she was creating to keep balance, she was also given free will, to make her own decisions apart from Eywa, just like us, while people can tell us what to do it is up to us whether we follow their words or not” she had a look of amusement on her face as if telling a clueless child something painfully obvious, which she essentially was.
“is she was the first daughter why have none of us heard this before?” Tuk was the next to speak, “Well as we grew, we left these mountains, to dense forests, swamps, and plains, our horns and wings were no longer needed, disappearing over many generations, we were met with new environments, and we adapted.” She had a gentle smile as she spoke her response “and it was not just wings and horns that were left behind, so were traditions, annual celebrations, and festivals. All of these were left behind in the face of change, and the new beginnings they faced.”
The day was spent like that, her sharing the traditions and ways of the new clan, it took Neteyam by surprise, he learned things he had never known, she was right, every aspect of life was in line with balance, never taking more than necessary and dedicating themselves to Eywa.
As the week continued, he learned more of the clan. The diet was plants grains and little meat usually from small animals, fish was a delicacy saved for celebrations and major events. He learned mating traditions, what is done in grief and death, and at the end of the week they were taken to the spirit tree, to them it is the Kaltum cave, or the heart of Eywa
The day started earlier than usual with extra people, a warrior Taylan, a healer Xan ’kore, and a group of younger ones, Kahlo, At’ok, and Ni’alu. In the outskirts of the clan was located a mountain so tall no Ikran, not even Makto could fly over it, there was an entrance at the base of the tunnel that had shocked Neteyam when it was revealed because of just how well hidden it was, as they entered there were winding tunnels with steep incline, he ended up holding Tuk so she wouldn’t fall.
as they were walking the healer spoke “the sacred tree embodies the balance of nature and spirit, it is said the phoenix herself planted the seed, marking the birth of the na’vi and so that it would forever be a reminder of the importance of balance.” She spoke from the front of the group; he was in the back along with Tuk and Tehe’Ewna.
Over the week he had gotten to know her better, he would often accompany Tuk to her lessons with the other children of the clan Tehe’Ewna and others there to be the teachers, they would weave and do crafts to entertain the children.
Surprisingly Tehe’Ewna was curious of the previous two clans Neteyam had called home, she would tell him more about the clan and rituals and other things he would need to know, Tuk also took a great liking to her, constantly asking questions and the three of them exploring the mountains with him and Tuk on his Ikran.
As they descended the tunnels him Tuk and Tehe’Ewna in a slower pace then the rest, a little behind. And while Neteyam was at least a head above her when walking her wings surrounded him, at first when they would go for walks in the forest with Tuk she would try to restrain them and prevent them from making him uncomfortable, she quickly saw he didn’t mind and that she was able to relax and not dwell or focus on them.
After about 15 minutes of walking the tunnels, like the cove of tales, became wider and taller, only what they lead too was infinitely more beautiful.
Inside the circular cavern was full of luminescent fungi and moss with crystals imbedded in the walls, but in the middle held The Kaltum Tree, its trunk tall and gnarled, with a wide base that tapers as it reaches higher, giving the tree a presence that feels ancient and wise.
The bark luminous, etched with patterns that resemble constellations, giving it a celestial appearance.
These patterns glow softly, only adding to the beauty of it, The branches extend upward and outward like great, feathery wings, These branches are draped with clusters of bioluminescent flowers Each one emitting a warm, radiant glow that casts colorful shadows on the cave walls, making the entire cavern come alive with shifting colors.
The leaves of the Kaltum Tree are long, thin, and iridescent, shimmering like jewels when touched by the ambient light of the cave. When they rustle in the faint underground breezes, they make a soft, musical sound, like chimes, enhancing the mystical ambiance.
The branches stretch wide and high, filling the cavern with a protective, sheltering presence, it brought the phoenix to the front of his mind, imagining this is how her presence would feel.
The air feels warm and carries a faint, sweet fragrance from the tree’s blossoms, the entire atmosphere was full of energy, it made him speechless, the spirit tree back home and the cove of ancestors was one thing, this place was so much more.
“When one feels they must reflect, or receive guidance this is where we go, many receive visions during the path for self, seeing glimpses of their place in the clan, what their future may hold, and even their mate.” Tehe’Ewna spoke to the group she herself in wonder.
“This is the most sacred place in these mountains, we call it the heart of Eywa because people sometimes receive visits from the great mother herself, to show the path she is intending for you to follow, most end up legends, their stories told for generations.”
In the Omaticaya, not everyone faces Iknimaya, you are given challenges to prove your worth as a warrior, you must catch a banshee, in the Tsyal, all are faced with the Yulun’ay, the journey to self.
There are six total aspects of the journey, the first is the journey of reflection, you spend about a week strengthening your bond with Eywa, you journey into the mountains facing the elements, and learning to sustain life, while keeping balance.
The second is the crafting of the totem, this is crafted during their time in the mountains from what they can find, branches, stones, feather, leaves etc. it is meant to reflect oneself, their personality, and their journey. Once they come back to the clan, it is blessed by Tsahik and is placed in the cove until it is put in their home as decoration.
The third is the sacred marking, much like the metkayina, they are inked, like the walls of the cove, their skin imbedded with ink from burnt herbs, so that when they have children and grandchildren they can point to it and say “this is from my Yulun’ay”, it also marked them, in their role as a protecter of the balance.
The fourth is the gift of wings, in the Kaltum parent and close loved ones give gifts, titled as a Nah’ru, wings of spirit, they serve as representation of life, freedom, and guidance, and as a reminder of the new stage of their life, once the person has all their gifts the family member all put their hands on their gift, infusing it with their love, and support.
The fifth is the yalaru, the dance of transition, it is a communal celebration of the clan, the participant performs a dance, telling the story of their journey to the clan, symbolizing their passage into adulthood. Elders and parents join in, creating a unified circle that represents the past, present, and future of the Tsyal.
The last step the sixth is the acceptance of responsibility, in a private ceremony in the Kaltum, you pledge to serve and protect the Tsyal Clan and keep the balance of Eywa’Eveng. It is said to bind them spiritually, many say that they feel as though the tree itself acknowledges the commitment, then you are to choose a path, crafters, hunters, healers, or spiritual guides, then a mentor will choose to teach you how to follow the path.
It is entirely different, almost completely a spiritual journey, instead of proving your ability to provide, to hunt, to fly, you become Intune with Eywa, reinforcing your belief of balance, Tehe’Ewna told him that balance is more than just taking and giving, it is existence itself, dark and light for example, one cannot exist without the other, no light without dark, and vice versa.
This is their way of life, something taught from birth to death, imbedded in everything they do, their ways have been evolved to continue to uphold balance in every aspect.
Tehe’Ewna made an example for them, connecting to one of the lower falling leaves to connect their kuru with
Connecting with the Kaltum is was euphoric, he felt only peace, he could feel the souls, the memories, the hopes, the dreams, the love, of all the souls connected to the tree, he felt Eywa, and the phoenix, the feeling of protection, of home, filled his system, he was floating, drifting away from the cove, the people around him, in that moment he was intertwined completely with the ancestors, with all the life on Eywa, we was nothing, yet he could feel everything, like a dreamless sleep.
Let me know if you guys would like to be tagged in future chapters💋

a list of canon ways in which lillian hart is The Fucking Worst that cora coe deserves financial and emotional compensation for:
-the basis for the big divorce counseling mission is that cora's worried for her mother's safety. that means, before going on a deep cover operation with smugglers known to kill rangers, marines, or anyone else caught trying to interfere with their business, lillian didnt leave her daughter a heads up much less a lead. once the fuck again, this woman decided that her career was more important than her daughter's mental and emotional health. once the fuck again, this woman decided she could just disappear from cora's life and then come back out of the blue without consequence
-when you go to lillian's office to look for her at cora's request, the guy working the desk knows SAM well enough to know his name and give him shit like they've got a personal history, but he??? isnt sure about????? cora's name???? word for word, he looks at her and says "it's cora, right?" you're telling me that this woman doesn't talk about her kid enough for her fellow INVESTIAGATIVE rangers to be sure about her name??? are you SHITTING ME??????? get the fuck out of here. you cant push "ranger family values" and the close ties they have in one breath then claim she likes to keep a professional distance at work in the other. you wanna have the conversation about what fresh hell it is being a working mother in a position of power, lets go, ill have that conversation all day long. but lillian hart is not a fucking example of a working mother and im gonna be pretty fucking insulted for working mothers everywhere if i catch wind of ppl trying to pull that kind of defense card. the woman's an awful parent and should be held the fuck accountable for it. you wanna know how i know????
she doesn't say cora's name enough for the ranger watching the door to be confident in it, but he remembers alllll the stories of the captain her ex is cozying up to. and lillian is the one to confirm during the quest that she has been getting the stories from cora, so there's some clear "oh she already likes the stranger more than me." i know im reading into it because its fiction and none of these people are real, but ive also, y'know been in cora's shoes, so i can tell you from real life experience that shit does exist. idk if that was the writers INTENT, but it sure does a great job at reflecting a very sad reality
-sam points out its dumb that lillian wants to speed the ship, with her daughter on it, directly at the sydicate. idk abt y'all, but my ship was pretty dinky at that point bc i was focused on outposts, and we got ambushed by like 6 ship waves once we landed for that fight. again, i get it. game mechanics get a higher priority than realism. but this whole "we have to finish this because theres a chance you were spotted trying to rescue me" shit is so. nauseating. theres no demand to drop off cora somewhere safe, theres no "lets call in the cavalry." its this fucking egomaniac looking you dead in the eye and being like "i know i just traumatized the shit out of my kid but i need you to drive us into an ambush while she's still on board. hope you're a good shot because sam and i cant kill them ourselves." and so what that we did that????? YOURE TELLING ME IT WAS JUST THOSE SHIPS???? the rest of the organization is just going to LET IT GO???? like no fucking wonder sam sees himself as the better option even through all his fucking doubt. at least he knows when to turn the fuck around because shit is above his paygrade
-she has custody rights. she is a decorated and respected ranger. sam being a smuggler wasnt public knowledge, but point out one person in akila who wouldnt believe her in a heartbeat over it. everyone in town gives him nothing but shit, and they all side with his dad who was definitely no picnic to live with. im guessing big emotional detachment there, lotta interrogation and persecution rather than teaching and understanding. HELL, sam would probably own up to his past if lillian outed him for it, he's that type of idiot. at literally any point she could put in the effort to get legal council involved. if she's SOOOO by the law, whats the hold up there???? i agree the kid shouldnt be on my ship while im in the middle of a space fight. ive talked with sam about it, and im not even the kids parent (as of the personal quest). what the fuck are you doing about it lillian????????? oh thats right. we cant get lillian on the phone. whomp whomp.
-she made cora cry. hyper independent, "big girls dont cry" cora coe. multiple times. worse, she made cora cry because she made cora feel like she wasn't as important as lillian's career. i dont give a fuck what criminals are doing. i do not give a fuck. i give a fuck that that little pixel child got her heart broken and there isnt a dialogue for me to call out her mother for being a huge fucking cunt to her own daughter but theres a thousand and one options for me to tell sam he's parenting wrong. he is, and i have no problem using them when they're appropriate, but where the fuck are they for lillian??? why am i not allowed to tear this woman a new asshole at any point, but there's like 20+ extra dialogue options added to every single npc you have a persuade option with???? todd my head hurts and its your fault
-"im sure sam's told you all about me. go on. ask whatever you want." yet there is no option to ask what the fuck her problem is. so, clearly, i cannot, in fact, ask whatever i want.
-"but the looks i got from my fellow rangers reading alexander dumas... we do strange things for kids." yeah hart??? thats your standard????? THATS your idea of going out of your way for your kid??? literally how did sam fall for this woman oh my god i cant even listen to her speak without wanting to use the power of bitchhood i inherited from a long line of angry irish women to ridicule her to tears. maybe then she'll fucking understand how small she makes her fucking kid feel every time she turns a moment of bonding into a little "woe is me and my comfort zone oh how unfortunate i am to have a brilliant daughter that wants to connect with me through her greatest passion"
-she openly admits that she dumped the cargo sam was smuggling not because she felt any connection or sympathy or just didnt want to destroy someones chance at life in a capitalist society, but because he was a good pilot and she didnt want that talent to "go to waste" so she could recruit him. thats not really a thing against cora i just really fucking hate that and the picture it paints of her priorities as a human being
-"if we're going to be really honest here... back when we were a team... cora would follow you everywhere, like a little adoring dog. i... just fell out of it. long before we separated."
i literally. do not have words for how fucking disgusted i am by that line of dialogue. oh my fucking god. oh my fucking god. i. i TRULY would not even know where to start. the dog comparison makes me violently angry and if you'd given me a punch interrupt at that moment, i would have broken my keyboard punching the accept option
-go replay or watch a recording of that divorce counseling mission one more time. while you're doing it, imagine the roles reversed. imagine youre romancing a character thats a mother bringing cora into space, and the ranger standing in your cockpit asking to finish the mission is her father who took off to live at work once it was clear his little girl liked mommy better. imagine THAT while you listen to the (imo) out of fucking pocket dialogue where sam constantly praises lillian for being "a good ranger/woman." then you come back and tell me how comfortable you are with the concept of lillian hart as a character.
#sam coe#lillian hart negative#cora coe#starfield#meta#look man i know i know i have mommy issues and im biased but jesus fucking christ i cant stand her as a character#she's not a mother by any stretch of the imagination#she designated HERSELF as extended family and im forever disgusted#anyways im writing up a meta post abt my feelings on sam so far#lillian just gets on my fucking nerves so a hate post for her was easy to whip up lmao

Can I request a second part for child Umbra witch reader?
This time, she asks Stolas, Beelzebub, and Asmodeus for a contract.
I imagine that Blitzo introduced her to Stolas and for Beelzebub, she goes to the party with Loona.
But to make a contract with those demons, she must dance with them to synchronise their energy/soul. But reader only know ballet dance and must adapt her style to the demon's style.
Thank!
Platonic headcanons Umbra witch 2
🦉 Stolas x child fem!Reader 🎩
When you found out that Blitzø is familiar with Stolas, you persuaded him for a long time to introduce you to him. You hoped Stolas was strong enough to help you. Blitzø didn't want to do it, but you were able to convince. Stolas was surprised when he met you and even more surprised when you told him about why you decided to meet him
Stolas has heard of witches who make contracts with demons, but never thought that such a young witch would come to him. However, he was not going to refuse your request because of this. The reason why you needed his strength seemed really important to him, because you wanted to save your mother, and Stolas was well aware of the value of the family, because for the sake of his daughter he was ready to go to a lot
A new problem for you was that in order to make a deal, you had to synchronize your energy with his, and for this you had to dance with Stolas. You were very worried about it, because the only thing you knew how to dance was ballet. You were supposed to learn other dances, but your mom didn't have time to teach you them, so you had to improvise
Stolas saw how worried you were and he was ready to wait until you were ready. He saw how determined you were and he respected that. That's why he was willing to wait so that you could do what you came to Hell for
🐓 Asmodeus x child fem!Reader 💕
When you found out about the place where Millie and Moxxie spent their anniversary, you decided to go there to get acquainted with Asmodeus. You were sure he was strong enough for you to save your mom. It took you a little time to find a way to get into the restaurant, because you were a child, but you still did it. Asmodeus was genuinely surprised when you approached him, but his surprise was quickly replaced by laughter
Asmodeus found it funny that such a young witch decided to make a deal with him. He listened to your story to understand why you decided to do this at all. He expected that you wanted to take revenge on someone or just wanted strength, but he didn't expect that all you wanted was to save your mom. For the first time, he was approached with such a sincere and bright request. He wasn't going to refuse your request, because he was wondering what would come of it
You were genuinely glad when Asmodeus agreed to make a deal with you, but the fact that you needed to synchronize your energy with his worried you. You knew the only way to do it was to dance with him, but the only thing you knew how to dance was ballet, which was definitely not suitable for dancing with Asmodeus
You didn't know what exactly the demon was used to dancing, but you weren't going to lose such a chance just because you couldn't dance anything but ballet. You intended to make a deal with him even if you had to learn the most difficult dance moves to do it
🐝 Beelzebub x child fem!Reader 🍯
You have been trying for a long time to find a strong demon who will agree to make a deal with you. It was difficult, because many demons were not strong enough for your purposes. However, when you found out that Loona was going to go to a party hosted by Beelzebub, you began to persuade her to let you go with her. You were sure that Beelzebub was strong enough to help you
At first Loona didn't want to take you with her, because she hoped to find friends at this party, but you were able to convince, and you went there together. You immediately rushed to find Beelzebub to talk to her, not intending to interfere with her. However, Beelzebub found you herself, surprised that a child appeared at her party. However, she was even more surprised when you asked her to make a deal with you
She didn't mind making a deal with you. She liked how determined you were and she agreed to the deal, but set a condition that you had to make a deal at the party. This put you in a dead end, because to make a deal you had to synchronize your energies, and for this you had to dance with her. However, there was a problem. You only knew how to dance ballet
Beelzebub left to chat with the guests and you were watching her. You had to make it to the end of the party and that's why you watched her move. You were going to make the biggest improvisation of your life and you sincerely hoped that you would succeed. You couldn't afford to make a mistake

You can look at Nanoha's first reaction to Vivio being "we need to find this kid's real mom" / "but I'll look after her meanwhile" / "but we still need to find her ACTUAL mom"
compared to Fate's history with Caro and Erio of
"I'm not old enough to adopt them so my adopted mom will sign the paperwork until I can be their legal guardian" and Vvio "legally I'm just Nanoha's friend but I am also the 'fate-mama' to our newly adopted daughter" and then with former enemy Lutecia "so her mother is still out of commission and that means I'll be her guardian until things get better"
you could say, that's just Fate being kind softhearted Fate, and Nanoha being stubborn like usual, but the thing is, it tracks so well with both their experiences AS children WITH their families
Nanoha's childhood was lonely sure, but never because her birth family didn't love her or try their best to care for and support her. She values the way she was raised- repeats it with Vivio later on, giving her freedom and responsibility, focusing on teaching Vivio how to stand up on her own after getting hurt, letting her have the tools and chances to make dangerous mistakes and learn from them. Even (spoilers for Vivid) even when her kid has a completely messed up leg after fighting in a tournament for FUN, Nanoha says she's proud of her for that, for Vivio following through and putting in her all, and helping her new friends and competitors grow as people along the way
All of that Nanoha got from her parents and her family, the ones she was born into.
So when she first meets lost and abandoned Vivio, she thinks, where is this girl's family? It takes a while for Nanoha to sink into the idea of Vivio not being born into a family that cares or can care for her. It takes time for Nanoha to decide, actually, maybe SHE could be Vivio's family now. Maybe she already is
And Fate- it's easy to joke about her running around adopting every kid she sees- but a lot of people I know who WERE happily adopted later in life are like that too. It's not universal. Still for people who know what the difference can be and how GOOD it can be, some of them end up like Fate, they end up repeating what their own adopted family did (Lindy her mother, and Chrono her big brother, looking after Fate while she was still facing trial, asking her very gently if they could all be a family together) and when Fate sees other kids being abandoned or locked away she also repeats what her family taught her by immediately reaching out. She offers to be there for Erio and Caro and deals with figuring out HOW to do that afterwards, accepts making that her job to study up on and get advice about while already knowing that it can work. She's been living proof that a family that's made by choice can be wonderful- just as good or better than the one she lost before.
But she also knows how much a parent can hurt a child, even without whips involved. Fate is soft with her kids, worried about them and for them and how they feel about her, never wanting them to think for a moment that she doesn't care or would be okay with them being hurt, and it's a reaction to her birth mom Precia, sure- (her memories of how a kind mother could be be so cruel to a child she didn't love)-
it's also just as much a repeat of Lindy's gentleness with Fate, too. Lindy who signed that paperwork so her teenage daughter could split time between her new career and two different kids who needed her. Fate wanted to be there for children who had no one, and Lindy made it work.
So when Nanoha finally decides to try being Vivio's mom, even though she wasn't Vivio "real" mother- Fate is already settled into them all being a family. She's there and ready to make this work.
I just always really like the writing in that. How you start off with these nine year old magical girls, and when you check back in with them 10-15 years later, everything they lived through at age nine has shaped them into the people and parents they end up being together today.
It's very sweet. I love that for them, for all of them.

Okay. Sexy men and badass soldier tgirlie stuff aside, I wanna see more conversation about these side characters/plots:
Aeshim and Donggeun (the mother/son duo)
PRECIOUS! CUTE! ADORABLE! HEARTBREAKING ! THAT LADY IS SO COOL OH MY GOODNESS I LOVE THEM. The merry-go-arround game with the doors KILLED ME.
I kinda really love how they truly care for each other and how he makes sure to stick my her side despite it all. They truly do seem like mother and son. If anything happens to them I'll riot 😤
Noeul (the north korean soldier) and her connection with the street painter
She is grieving for her missing (likely dead) child, and his sick daughter. She makes sure the players are properly killed and not used in the organ trade, like a final kindness. But she does kill anyways.
I wonder if his presence will "break" her, or if she will do her job and leave his daughter fatherless (possibly allocating the money for her child to her).
Mr Fisherman???
HELLO ??? What are you doing??? Who ARE you????
Where are the VIPs?
I figured The Frontman was doing all that not only to teach Gihun a lesson, but to also please the VIPs. Make it a spectacle; raise the stakes. Entertainment value.
Are they watching? What is to become of them after that little coup attempt - do they find it amusing? Did that satisfy their sadistic cravings, or did they feel threatened by the audacity of the players (especially Gihun's) to dare defy him? Do they enjoy seeing him fail again and again? Many thoughts.
Gihun himself tbh
He's the main character and yet i see very little conversation around him that isn't focused on his relationship with Inho/Youngil/001 (yeah i know it's only been out for 4 days but).
That very first episode where we see glimpses of his life: chasing after the Salesman, looking over Saebyeok's brother from afar, the paranoia and trauma surround the games. How he's locating his resources solely on the mission to end the games.
How despite everything he STILL is a terrible father and is allowing his daughter to become estranged from him.
The loan shark Boss and his second hand (forgot their names)
Really I just wanna point out how cool it was of Bossman to remain loyal to Gihun. Regardless of the motivation, I fully thought he was taking the money and half-assing his search at first. And how sad (and in a weird way cute) it was that he refused to be responsible for his underling's death and let himself be shot instead??? LOYALTY. FRIENDSHIP. YES.
#idk i think they have some very interesting B plots happening and I really wanna see them through#Noeul in particular is SO intriguing to me! Love the soldier pov we're getting so far#squid game#squid game season 2#squid game 2#squid game spoilers

Belladina Interviews
Oobleck: Right! Well then, why don't we start with a few questions for the parents?
Blake: (Thinking) Bartholomew Oobleck. Forty-seven years old. He has a doctorate in history as Beacon's history teacher and is housemaster of dormitory 7, Amber Hall. Regarded as intelligent, reliable, and open-minded. He's well-liked by his students, but is also known for speaking at a swift pace. The safest path to win his favor is with honest and straightforward answers.
Oobleck: I understand that this is your second wife. How did you meet your husband?
Blake: Straight to the point. It makes sense, since Beacon Academy is focused on family values.
Blake: My husband and I met by chance at the neighborhood tailor's shop. The same one where Beacon uniforms are made, in fact. It was the way he carried himself which first caught my eye. It was like he appeared out of nowhere. After the death of my first husband and being so busy caring for my daughter, I was hesitant to pursue a new relationship. But the more we talked, the more I realized I'd found a kindred spirit in him. I was touched by his kindness and how much he valued family. I knew he would be a wonderful father to my daughter.
Jaune: (Blushing)
Oobleck: I see. Same question, Mr. Belladina.
Jaune: Oh... Well... Blake is such a wonderful woman. And she's so good with children. She understood how difficult it was for me to be all by myself, and she welcomed me into her family.
Oobleck: Excellent to hear. Family is very important to us at Beacon.
Jacques: I see you're a man who must have low standards, Mr. Arc. Why else would you saddle yourself to a woman with a child? And a woman like her no less?
Goodwitch: Behave yourself, Master Schnee.
Blake: Jacques Schnee. Fourty-nine years old. A legacy hire, as his father-in-law was the headmaster, he is the business and economics professor and housemaster of dormitory two, Azure Hall. Greedy. Callous. His wife filed for divorce last month. His wife just won full custody of her children. In all of his previous interviews, his questions focused on directly disparaging the families of applicants. It's best to avoid provoking him.
Oobleck: On to the next question. May we ask why you have decided to apply for Beacon Academy?
Blake: For one reason, sir...
Blake: To get close enough to my target, Charlotte Malachite!.
Blake: The quality of the teaching staff at Beacon Academy is second to none. The instructors are cultured, knowledgeable, and talented. More importantly, I believe only the elite faculty of Beacon Academy can instill in our child the nobility and patriotism needed to stand amongst our country's elite.
Goodwitch: (Thinking) A most disciplined reply, Blake Belladina. I knew I saw something in you.
Glynda Goodwitch. ??? years old. Fitness Professor and housemistress of dormitory three, Lavender Hall. Personality: Elegant.
Oobleck: We would like to hear about Penny from the perspective of her parents. What would you consider to be her strengths and weaknesses?
Blake: Penny holds a deep and passionate curiosity. She is willing and eager to poke her nose into everything, sometimes to an extent that it could be considered as much of a strength as it is a weakness. And perhaps this is just a mother's bias, but I find her to be wise beyond her years.
Goodwitch: Wise? This girl here? Didn't she only earn thirty-one points on her entrance exam?
Penny: (Flinches)
Blake: In fact, she's so intuitive, I swear she can read my mind! Ha ha!
Penny: (Shivers)
Blake: But for a solid answer for weaknesses, I do wish she was less picky about her food.
Oobleck: Hm. And what do you see in her, Mr. Belladina, and how would you describe your parenting style towards her?
Jaune: Well, as we've already discussed, I am not her birth father. So I will admit that, at first, I may have spoiled her in my attempts to win her over. I had to learn how to be strict sometimes, for the sake of her future. I work hard to remember that.
Jaune: (Thinking) Just like we practiced.
Oobleck: Mrs. Belladina mentioned that your daughter can be picky. What sort of meals do you cook at home?
Jaune: M-Meals?! Oh, uh, I, uh... W-Well...
Blake: Actually, sir, I do most of the cooking. However, my husband is more than happy to help when I'm too busy.
Blake: Not that it's ever happened.
Jacques: You're kidding me. A husband who can't even cook? You need to work harder to be a better example for your daughter, sir!
Jaune: !!!
Blake: No one is perfect, sir. While my husband may not be the primary chef, he is incredibly neat and organized. The house is always spotless. And he is a most wonderful example for our daughter.
Jacques: That may be, but a man who can't even cook is hardly a good example for a child.
Blake: And who are you to-
Jaune: B-Blake, it's okay! He's right!
Blake: (Clenching her fist) He's right. Calm yourself, Nightshade. Why are you even upset? It's not like he's really your husband.
Jacques: (Thinking) Just a pair of lovebirds, eh? I could just puke. Well, I'll just keep pecking at those cracks and see what comes pouring out. If these smug plebians don't get rejected, then there is no justice in the world.
Penny: (Thinking) This man hates Mama and Papa! I need to do real good, or else...
Oobleck: Well, I think it's time we heard from your daughter.
Penny: Here we go...
Oobleck: Can you tell us who you are and where you live?
Penny: M-My name is Penny Pellapina. And I live in Vale... North. At 42 Space... Something. Mister sir!
Oobleck: And what do you like to do when you're not in school?
Blake: She knows this. These are all the questions we...
Penny: I like to watch at restaurants and eat the opera.
Blake: Huh?.
Oobleck: And what sorts of things do you want to accomplish while attending Beacon Academy?
Penny: Uh... Um...
Penny: What was the answer?.
Blake: Well, I know what I want to do while at Beacon Academy. Get close to Charlotte at a school event and expose the plans of the organization she leads. Then stop her before-
Penny: I want... to expose the secrets... of the boss... of the or-gun-eye-zay-shun.
Blake: WHAT DID SHE JUST SAY?!. The answer was to read all the books in the library!.
Penny: Oh, and library books.
Oobleck: "Boss of the organization"? Do you mean the headmaster?
Blake: Ah ha ha ha! Oh, excuse my daughter! She's very ambitious! She's so curious about the lives of the people who have achieved leadership positions.
Goodwitch: Hmmm... Seeking to learn from those at the top at such a young age... There is a degree of elegance to that.
Goodwitch: If that is true, then you mist know the name of our headmaster, young lady?
Penny: Um... It's, uh...
Blake: You know this! It's Headmaster Ozpin!.
Penny: Head pasture... All in. Mister sir.
Goodwitch: Eh... Close enough.
Goodwitch: And do you understand how hard one must work to succed as he has?
Penny: ...
Penny: Yeah! You gotta run through the jungle to get strong! And face life-or-death stuff over and over to get brave!
Blake: That was the training montage in yesterday's spy cartoon...
Goodwitch: Such incredible resolve! Perhaps I have underestimated this child.
Oobleck: Haha! Perhaps you needn't go that far. Now, I have questions for you about your parents. What does your mother do for a living?
Penny: She's a spy.
Blake: !
Penny: Spy... Spycial social work.
Oobleck: Are you alright, dear? You sound a bit congested. What about your father? What is he like?
Penny: He can be a little scary sometimes, but he's really nice!
Jaune: !
Oobleck: If you had to give your mother and father a score, what would it be?
Penny: 100 points! They're perfect and I love them. I want to be with them forever!
Jacques: Garbage like this is the last thing we need at Beacon.
Jacques: So, who do you like better? Your old daddy or your new daddy?
Oobleck: Master Schnee, that question isn't-
Jacques: Who cares? Are we who ask the questions not permitted to improvise and think outside the box?
Blake: May I request a different question?
Blake: I don't know how she ended up in that orphanage, but there's too good a chance her parents are...
Jacques: No. Answer the question or be scored accordingly.
Plip... Plip...
Penny: (Crying) D... D...
Blake: Penny...
Penny: (Sniffles, Wipes eyes) Daddy...
Jacques: Well, there you have it. She likes her real daddy more.
Jaune: (Comforting Penny) How dare you?!
Blake: Calm down, Jaune.
Jaune: But this is...
Blake: For the mission, we can endure this. We have to endure this.
Jacques: The dorms are full of children living away from their parents. This is no place for children who burst into tears over every little thing.
Blake: He can smear us all he likes. It doesn't matter. We're not a real family.
Jaune: "Every... little.. thing"? You think THAT is a "little thing"? (Fingers pop and crack)
Blake: Calm. Calm. Calm. It doesn't matter.
Jacques: What's your problem anyway, second husband? It's not my fault she doesn't love you.
Jacques: Ah, now that feels better. Hm?
Blake: (Swinging her leg for Jacques head) STAND DOWN, NIGHTSHADE!.
CRUNCH!
Jacques: (Stares at table split in perfect half)
Blake: (Removes her foot from the table, Reveals bug beneath) Forgive my behavior. There was a gnat buzzing around. (Turns) Thank you for your time.
Jacques: W-Where do you think you're going?! We're not finished!
Blake: If belittling the feelings of children is part of Beacon's educational philosophy, then I have clearly chosen the wrong school.
Jacques: HOW DARE YOU DISGRACE THE NAME OF BEACON ACADEMY!
Blake: Jaune. Penny. We're leaving now. (They walk ahead) Good day. (Slams door)
Jacques: YOU WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN BEACON ACADEMY AGAIN! DO YOU HEAR ME?!
Goodwitch: You went too far, Master Schnee.
Jacques: Oh? Are you questioning my methods, Goodwitch? I'd watch your attitude, if I were you. Big Nicholas may no longer be with us, but his name still holds a lot of weight around here. Send in the next family already!
Goodwitch: ...
???: (Memory) Those who beg and grovel at the feet of the powerful... They're such pitiful creatures, no?.
Goodwitch: ...She didn't disgrace the good name of Beacon Academy.
Jacques: Huh?
BAM!
Jacques: (Falls back, Unconscious)
Goodwitch: (Changes gloves) There. Handled with elegance. And with that, Mrs. Belladina, I think I can face you with the pride and dignity of a proper Beacon Academy educator.

I've just come back into the fandom after a few years and I stumbled onto your player teacher au and I am Obsessed and in fact I love everything you've written but teacher player lives in my head rent free. And I just wanted you to know that.. have a good day 💜
Thank you so much. I meant to answer this a long time ago but the family got hit with colds.
From the bottom of my heart thank you. Teacher AU has a place in my heart forever. As a thanks, here’s a teaser for the direction I want to go with it:
“What?”
Twin shrieks in a distinct Boston accent echo through Player’s surround sound, so much so that the hacker winces and presses the hotkey on his keyboard to turn down the volume just a notch or five. Zack sounds utterly confused and Ivy carries the intense rage of a cat denied its morning meal.
Maybe Player should not have started out so bluntly.
“They have no idea who I am,” Player emphasizes to the team on the other end of the video call. Ashamedly, he briefly looks away. “At least, I don’t think they do. Otherwise they never would have let me leave, right?” he finishes with nervous laughter.
Immediately upon arriving home, he’d texted Carmen to organize a team meeting. Urgent. Then spent the next hour combing every square inch of his apartment, looking for bugged mics or cameras. Part of him worries his rudimentary skills in that department might have caused him to miss something. He wishes Carmen were here. In person.
There is a long, long sigh from Shadowsan’s section of the screen. The man closes his eyes tightly as if attempting to will away a headache. “My former colleagues have never been the kind to quit.” He opens his eyes and he looks already ten years older. Tired. “VILE has remained successfully hidden for eight centuries, until now. The Faculty will not be content to be known as the ones who saw its downfall.”
“Which is why this situation is perfect,” Player adds animatedly. He holds his hands in front of him, where they itch to do…something. Anything for those kids. For his team. To take down VILE for good before they can do any more harm. “VILE doesn’t know my face. They don’t even know I exist. I’m literally the perfect spy.”
A light cough takes Player’s attention to the other ACME agents on this call.
“Spies undergo years of intense training for dangerous situations such as this one,” Julia says carefully. She wears her business casual today rather than her ACME uniform. Not on official business, yet, Player supposes. She looks as if she’s at her desk at home.“I did not teach you any of it in your graduate classes.”
“We have enough simply knowing Tigress is there,” Devineaux adds. He attempts to casually lean over Julia’s shoulder. “Should we not just…go get them?” the agent shrugs his arms to the left as if ready to go get the keys and go to the car.
“I’m with Devineaux,” Ivy pipes up. The rage contained within her eyes looks as if a volcano is about to erupt. “VILE’s done enough. Let’s nab ‘em quick. Like you said, Player. They wouldn’t even know we’re coming.”
Player sighs, settling deeper into his chair, feeling defeated already that the team is not on his side. “Because it’s not just the academy students this time around. VILE’s starting them earlier. I’ll be teaching fourteen year olds. If I stay undercover, we can find out for sure who all from VILE is there, lure them into a trap for ACME, all without risking the students getting hurt.”
The call goes silent, then. Player wonders if the others can feel it too, the proverbial elephant in the room. The one person who hasn’t spoken yet is the one person who Player values the opinion of over all else. If Carmen shoots down this idea, then that’s it.
She sits in her mother’s office, Player can tell. The full set of her Russian nesting dolls is on the bookshelf behind her, along with several mother-daughter pictures, and one father-daughter picture. Carmen leans back in the chair, as if deep in thought. There are wrinkles under her eyes as well, looking far too tired. Player’s heart hurts for her. She doesn’t deserve this.
Finally, she looks him in the eye. “I don’t like this, Player.” It isn’t a firm answer, but it's an honest one. Her voice feels more like a plea, one for him not to convince her that this is their best option.
Player can’t oblige. “I don’t like it either, but it really is our best shot, Red. We’ve been given an in. We really can’t ignore it.”
“Jules is right,” Carmen comes back with. “You’re a hacker, Player. This is a whole different kind of spy work.”
“All I have to do is teach geography,” Player states clearly.
“For VILE,” Carmen states just as clearly. But her eyes quickly become overcast, building into a storm. “You’d be teaching for VILE.”

I SEE YOU - PROLOGUE
[I SEE YOU MASTERLIST] CHAPTER 1 : MA'ITAN
the great mother holds a lot of wonder in the life of pandora. her nature brings life to what's around the people. when a life is borrowed, we give back at the time it's finally to let go. there was no worry of their home destroyed, feeling betrayed, and enjoy their whole lives ahead of them. homes of the many species inhabiting every surface of the planet.
purity and innocence.
home of the na'vis.
their day to day lives without a disturbance of losing what they've known their whole lives until.. a big star in the sky caught the curiosity by one of the chief's daughters, it became bigger and bigger until it landed near their home
a new found curiosity showed what the na'vi never knew would haunt them for years to come.. the na'vi's lives were about to change, it was their last peace of their lives when the sky people brought their offerings in hopes of getting something in return.
the omatikaya wanted to teach their ways to the humans and show them what they see through their eyes of the forest. value and
.....but....
it changed for the better or worse. the incident of grace's school all three sisters who were present of that unfortunate day, troopers ceased fire through the school causing those bullets firing one of the chief's and tsahik's daughters.
the death of the eldest, sylwanin.
the chief and tribe decided to ban humans and dream walkers from getting near their village and a single sighting of them near their territory to negotiate or take something within their knowledge.. they will be killed on the spot.
that altered at jake sully's arrival on pandora.
a sign from eywa.
toruk makto.
the last shadow.
up to the events they reclaimed their home and sent the sky people back to where they came from because their terrorizing years brought war and killing.
only a few were chosen to stay, loyal to the na'vi.
as for the youngest of the three daughters, lost everything. her father and her home, left in despair and a great rage of anger and hatred towards the sky people and their evil technology. a warrior who fought for her home everyday alongside her older sister, neytiri, their hatred for these demons had become their motivation to protect what they love.
the woman warrior without a mate or child, in the brink of giving up after the loss of their home and her father..
the lonely na'vi woman seeks out a purpose before giving up.
in her life she felt different from her sister and her people.
something that makes her unique and mysterious in her people's eyes since she was a lonesome young lady. not a care about finding a mate or have a child of her own. expressing herself strangely from the other women in the clan.
her prayers were heard by the great mother. what may seem a few of the seeds from the sacred tree led her to the place she least wanted to visit.
the lab where a few humans stayed, the seed slowly and gracefully shows her way what is waiting for her to discover.
a window with vibrant white and blue lights shining through the glass, she peaks where the seed stayed in place for her to see.
before she saw, a baby cry heard through the walls of the lab startled her to take cover before she was discovered. the seed appears to wait patiently for her to see what it wanted her to see.. hoping it's something that'll help her continue the life she was given and put her rage to rest.
upon the see through window, laying in a tiny bed is the sign from the great mother.
a small human baby
a beautiful baby boy.
his small wailing and tantrum filled the ears of the young na'vi woman. the pure souls leading to him, she found what she was looking for.
a tear slips her hard exterior when laying her eyes on the small, fragile boy weeping and her tail flickers side to side excitedly. from that day she showed up at the lab to know who the baby was..
"the great mother has given me a sign. a blessing of my own."
the scientist got caught off guard by the young woman's towering figure bursting into their facility, her brushing and slightly shoving them off in search of the baby.
she demanded where the baby was and they lead her to him. they don't know what she wanted with the baby but they were curious on her sudden interest.
as soon she saw the beautiful creature, she towers over eywa's awaken baby staring up at her. he had little baby curly, hair forming on his delicate head. the sound of the baby's comfort on watching the woman staring down at him. the baby coos when he saw her with her beaded hair dangling above his head, he giggles and makes cute sounds reaching for her beads.
the na'vi woman smiled down for what seemed a long time the scientists seen her warm up with a human.
more towards a human child.
the usual scowling and huffs and antics she does around them has disappeared. she sat herself in front of the crib and her tails swishes faster, carefully observing the child when her hand goes to crease his tiny face, he responds with a cute yawn that made her melt and break down her protective walls.
"who's this baby?" she questions not daring to look away the baby with a motherly expression kicking in.
the scientists didn't know how to answer but one of them was kind enough to tell her the truth of his story. who his father was. to their surprise, the na'vi woman didn't care because she picked the boy up in her arms carefully, afraid of hurting his body because of her height and strength.
everyone saw how she cradles the baby and coos to calm him down. the joyous smile decorating her face looking lovingly at him it was as if she birthed him herself.
she cries more bringing him into a warm embrace, creasing his curls and speaks, "name?"
"his name's miles soccoro."
what kind of name is that. she shook her head showing the distaste of such bland name for a boy.
a baby of the great mother deserves a powerful name which everyone will remember when he proves the impossible.
a fierce warrior.
she faces all of them with a smiling lovingly at what she is going to declare her own.
her baby.
"eywa led me to this boy. he is going to be my son. ma seykxel kay te tshaha ingyen'itan." ingyen speaks proud by her announcement to the humans as they never thought her open mind would come from a baby that eywa has chosen.
all of them helped her understand what her baby needs. they suggested a nickname for her baby that came randomly from one of them to name him easier and she was more than welcome to visit him but she didn't want that.
she moved closer until her child is old enough to wear a mask and live with her in the village where she will teach him their ways to grow up into a fine warrior. this boy will lead her somewhere later where she'll follow to love unconditionally but he'll lead her to someone who was the very one she never expected.
a sin of a father.. not in the way they'd expect.
years have passed when the same star comes back..

Chapter 21 | Prev chapter | Next chapter Chapter Index
HIMBO: HEY, ALVA. HOW MANY DIVINERS ARE THERE?
DIVINER: I'm sorry citizen, that is a state secret kept closely guarded for tactical and strategic reasons.
DIVINER: Sorry!!
DIVINER: They drum that into us before we even get our Focuses!! I really can't tell you, though!
FlameHairSavior: Where did this come from?
HIMBO: I WAS REMEMBERING HOW MANY PRIESTS AVAD HAS TO DEAL WITH EVERYTHING, AND WONDERING HOW THE QUEN HANDLE THINGS.
DIVINER: Oh!! I think I understand now!! But Diviners aren't the only priests and scholars. I think I mentioned we're mostly explorers, actually? We can do more administrative work, more easily, thanks to our Focuses, but we have plenty of people trained without them!
HIMBO: I GUESS THAT MAKES SENSE.
HIMBO: WHAT DO YOU DO, THEN? WITH ALL THE SLAG YOU LEARN, I MEAN.
DIVINER: Mostly, we teach! Most of the technology of the Ancestors is still beyond us, but there were enough hints that we were able to learn advanced metallurgy, agriculture, and of course military strategy.
DIVINER: I think most important of all, though, we teach our people the importance of the arts and sciences!
DIVINER: Some of the earliest tribes the Empire conquered were little better than hiding in caves because they refused to understand the importance of progress!
BoyNextDoor: There's value in tradition, though.
DIVINER: Well, yes, of course, but...
DIVINER: Oh, right, you're from a tribe like that.
BoyNextDoor: We're not that bad.
FlameHairSavior: All-Mother Mountain is literally a cave, Varl.
BoyNextDoor: And in the cave is the Cradle facility where you found all these Focuses. If the tribe hadn't been protecting it all this time, who knows what would have happened.
FlameHairSavior: [BenAffleckTiredSmoking.png]
DIVINER: No, he's right! Traditions are important, even if we don't always know why! Your people knew that cave was important, because they remembered they were born there and so stayed close!
DIVINER: My people aren't even sure where exactly we came from!
HIMBO: I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT YOU LOT WOULD KEEP CRAZY GOOD RECORDS. THE OSERAM DO, AND WE DON'T HAVE FANCY FOCUSES.
DIVINER: Yes, of course! But only AFTER we found the cache of Focuses in the Great Delta! We can't be entirely certain where we came from before that!
MARSHAL Kotallo: I am curious how broadly anyone spreads from any given Cradle. Are all of our tribes from different Cradles, or the same?
FlameHairSavior: I think the Carja come from the Nora Cradle. Can't be sure, though.
HIMBO: OH, YEAH, THEY CAME TO MERIDIAN FROM THE EAST. THEIR PRIESTS WILL TELL THAT STORY IF YOU MAKE THE MISTAKE OF SITTING STILL FOR FIVE MINUTES.
MARSHAL Kotallo: How many Cradles are there?
FlameHairSavior: At least nine, because the Nora one is ELEUTHIA-9. But I don't know how many were planned total.
FlameHairSavior: Or how many survived, for that matter. The Faro Plague caused construction and supply problems for Zero Dawn.
Zo: Yes, I read about some of the animal samples that were lost because of the Plague. I have to assume that at least some of the planned facilities failed.
BoyNextDoor: The Nora Cradle has a Metal Devil frozen in the process of trying to dig it out. I think the shutdown came in minutes before they would have breached.
FlameHairSavior: Ah yes. That.
DIVINER: I sense a story!
FlameHairSavior: The High Matriarchs confuse a sense of drama with wisdom.
DIVINER: ??
BoyNextDoor: If you try to get Aloy to explain it will take weeks.
BoyNextDoor: Trust me.
β: but you know dont you
BoyNextDoor: Yes, yes. Assuming Aloy doesn't mind.
FlameHairSavior: I don't care.
BoyNextDoor: Well, as a baby, Aloy was found right outside the Cradle door, where the robot left her. Also, right under the claw of the Metal Devil. High Matriarch Lansra thought this was a sign that she was the daughter of the Metal Devil.
DIVINER: ...and??
BoyNextDoor: And what? That's obviously a bad thing.
BoyNextDoor: It's not like there's any prophecies about children of the Metal Devil or anything, High Matriarch Lansra just jumped to a terrible confusion.
DIVINER: Oh. That story is a lot shorter than I was expecting.
β: a good typo though
FlameHairSavior: Well, it led to me being outcast from birth and I had to win the Proving just to be allowed into my own tribe.
BoyNextDoor: Technically you only had to COMPLETE the Proving. You're the one who insisted on going to extra mile.
HIMBO: OF COURSE SHE DID.
DIVINER: Erend, do your people have any history about where they came from?
HIMBO: NOTHING LIKE A SPECIFIC DIRECTION. WE MOSTLY FOCUS ON HOW WE DELVED INTO OLD ONES RUINS AND LEARNED WHAT WE COULD FROM THEIR MACHINES.
HIMBO: NO ONE WAS LUCKY TO FIND A WORKING FOCUS, THOUGH.
FlameHairSavior: Or maybe every one that was found was immediately broken.
HIMBO: HA HA. IT'S NOT MY FAULT THESE THINGS ARE DAINTY.
DIVINER: How did you find an intact Focus, Aloy? The Quen cache was protected and clearly labeled, and you mentioned the Cradle. Did you find it there?
FlameHairSavior: No, I just found it in a random ruin when I was a child. It was still attached to a skeleton.
β: ew
β: and you just put it right on your head
FlameHairSavior: I was a curious child and it made everything light up when I touched it. So, yes.
FlameHairSavior: These things are pretty much immune to environmental damage. Unless they're hit by something, they last basically forever.
HIMBO: NOW I'M WONDERING WHY THE QUEN NEVER FOUND NORMAL FOCUSES. THEY HAD TO HAVE BEEN LOOKING.
DIVINER: I don't have any answers there, I'm afraid!! Maybe we were just unlucky? It's a very damp region, prone to flooding!
β: or theres a conspiracy keeping all the good things away from the lower ranks because they know it would endanger their dogma
DIVINER: I really, really wish that theory wasn't entirely plausible.
FlameHairSavior: Beta, please stop making people question their entire worldview.
MARSHAL Kotallo: Why not? It appears to be a family tradition.
BoyNextDoor: Ha!
HIMBO: HE'S GOT YOU THERE!
Zo: They are right.
FlameHairSavior: I hate you all.

Just wondering... have you ever thought of what would have happened if the Evil Queen was never able to find Snow White and thus was alive to raise Eva?
Would Snow White try to find a way to get her sister in order to keep her safe in case the Queen tries to kill her as well?
Would Eva be raised to care about being the fairest, just like her mom or would she just want to be the most powerful at doing magic?
Would the Queen harm her biological daughter if Eva was prettier?
Would Eva end up good?
Ahhh an interesting question! (Also sorry it took so long to answer :s )
Tbh I think that what would most likely happen is that the Queen would ignore Eva overall, treating her better then Snow as she's her biological daughter which tied her to the throne (and enabled her to access Andalasia's natural magic in my DisneyVerse) and just planning on using her as a useful political bargaining chip. She might teach her a tiny bit of magic but she has no interest in having an sort of rival to her power.
Eva would be raised by nurses and governess with all the privileges of royalty but she would feel lonely and desperate to please her mother, and would likely try and enhance both her beauty and magic as she can see the Queen values these things and she thinks its a way to gain her attention--which like, it is but not in a good way
Snow would definitely be trying to find a way to save her sister from the Queen once she's more settled herself and has gained some more allies as she'd definitely want to reclaim her kingdom one day.
(My Snow in personal a mix of the canon animated Snow with her sweetness and good nature and that hint of sassiness that also grows into the calucating and brave leader Snow we see in OUAT cuz I thought they actually did good with her in the early seasons)
Eva meanwhile in this scenario is probably in a pre-evil Regina situation where she loves her mother but is starting to realize she needs to get away from her for her own safety(I feel like she'd probably always lean towards good in most AU's as thats her base, even in the actual Descendants movies she wasn't very wicked or even vain tbh).
I think the Queen would honestly try and steal both Eva's magic and beauty for her own if not outright just kill her too if she thought she'd become a big enough threat to her power, but first she'd just try and control her and marry her off to the person who'd give her the greatest advantage in politics, which likely wouldn't be anyone Eva would really like.
(Honestly this would probably go the way of this really good OUAT fic i read but can't remember the name of where Cora was Snow's Wicked Stepmother and she and Regina were raised as sisters and Regina helped Snow's rebellion from the shadows while pretending to help Cora and in the end they're reunited as sisters xD )
#disney#asks#disneyverse#again thank you for your patience!#canon descendants#i really should have put an AU on that tag but its too late now there's too many posts xD#evie descendants#queen grimhilde#the evil queen#snow white and the 7 dwarfs#ouat#ouat snow white#ouat regina

Good Luck to You, Leo Grande
The actors are exceedlingly charming, the script has a lot of wit, there are some lovely touches. I loved the scene where the heroine apologizes to the former student she slut-shamed and I love how she finally accomplishes the goal she didn't even dare to put on her to-do-list, on her own. It's supposed to be a film about pleasure, about liberation, about empowerment, about aging, about self-discovery, and as such, it works really well.
But for me, this is also a film about having a job that requires building relationships, and about the importance of good boundaries in professional relationships. And here, I think, is where it kinda drops the ball.
More precisily, I think, the movie has a lot to say about teaching. We see that Leo is a god teacher, exceptional really, and our heroine maybe hasn't been. The main quality you need to bring to the job, for me, is respect, a lack of judgment - someone willing to learn something new always makes themselves vulnerable; is going to make mistakes, is going to be frustrated, disappointed, easily discouraged. Needs to be reassured, needs to be able to trust, needs to be met with grace. Leo's got that.
The heroine, as far as we get to see, not so much. She can talk about people with such casual contempt. Maybe that's just her style, her brand of wit - it is, after all, most often directed towards herself. Maybe it's supposed to be part of the liberation, refreshing honesty. She needs to call her son boring and her daughter a fuck-up to free herself of the shackles of motherhood. Fine. But part of it is that this character is your typical middle class snob. So when the waitress in the café where she meets up with Leo for the last time reveals herself as a former student, she says "Well I can't have taught you much, if this is where you ended up". And she's not even trying to insult her. She's the type who'd be shocked if you took offense. "Oh no, no, don't you see, it's a diss on myself!".
I do actually like that part - the heroine is revealed, gradually - a beautiful woman, a sensuous woman, a powerful woman. But a mediocre mother, a mediocre teacher. That can also be a good story for a heroine. It's not always about how well you serve others. And the heroine does learn. She learns to appreciate the value of sex work. She does apologize to the waitress. Maybe her contempt for others sprung from her contempt for herself, and she can only free herself of the former as she frees herself of the latter, or vice versa. That's a point worth making.
But it could be made a bit better, I think, if the heroine had to take some more accountability. Because she's horribly out of line, not just with the waitress, also with Leo, and he forgives her too readily. My friend, who I saw the movie with, thinks he should have never agreed to that last appointment. She gasped in horror, when the heroine confessed to the stalking and was fully on board with Leo's outrage. She was also very upset, when Leo eventually opened up about his mother. "Why does he tell her? He shouldn't need to tell her! She has no right to ask!"
I get why the characters does it. She's told him a lot of personal stuff, she's had a life-changing experience with him - and now she wants to feel like she can make some difference for him too, she longs for resonance, reciprocity. But we already this wonderful scene where he describes, downright lyrically, what he gets out of this job, this feeling of having a meaningful impact on others, resonance, reciprocity. There's a quiet tragedy in how she can't be satisfied with that. (And she wouldn't be the first to fail this way, it's an old story for a reason, it should be a modern version of Lohengrin - if magic enters your life, acept it with grace; don't kill the vibe by asking for a name).
But sadly, this version doesn't go for the Lohengrin-ending. To the last moment, the heroine is not quite made to understand how upsetting it must be when a client starts to cross explicit boundaries. Point is, not wanting a client to know your real name is a very basic, reasonable boundary, even if there's no traumatic backstory of maternal abandonment. It's not about shame over your profession, it's about good professional boundaries and a completely legit need for privacy. I guess I have a bit more compassion for the client's delusions than my friend, but I hate how the narrative seems to vindicate her, by revealing that Leo has indeed a traumatic history, that part of his emotional outburst was triggered by this trauma, that her making him face that actually helps him overcome his shame and reconnect with his brother. I wanted to see a final scene where he comes home to his loving mother who cooks him spaghetti or something, and we can conclude that is was all just a story to get this over-involved client off his back. In my mind, that's the ending anyway; Moma's home-cooked spaghetti are waiting as the credits roll.
