The Strawhats are all very fiercely protective of each other, they care about each other in equal measures, but I love that they’re always the quickest to act when its matters concerning Robin. Robin is who they express their protectiveness and love for must often and most explicitly. if its for her, even a member of the ‘coward trio’ like Nami will threaten to beat up CP0 agents. Yknow like the “How dare you make Robin cry?!” misunderstanding in Egghead, and everyone vowing to protect her in Punk Hazard and blushing like crazy when she says she trusts them? And it doesn’t just make me happy because Robin is a character that I hold dear to my heart, but in a meta way, I appreciate to see so much love being expressed towards like? An older woman?

Not that Robin is an OLD WOMAN by ANY MEANS, the woman is thirty. But she’s very unique as a character because as an older woman, she doesn’t serve any of the usual spots in the Strawhat’s life. She’s not their mother, their mentor, their boss. And she’s very independent, physically strong, and one of the most brilliant and knowledgeable people in the One Piece universe. She’s not someone’s charge, their daughter, or their pupil. She’s not even, like, actively being asked to use her skills to help Luffy’s mission, Luffy has no personal interest in the poneglyphs and ancient histories of the world, she’s doing that because she wants to. And it’s so. neat that she’s allowed to do that? An example of an adult woman in fiction who isn’t being pressured to be strong for anyone, and even more than that, is at every turn treated gently and reminded that she can rest, she can rely on others, that she will be protected. That she is loved for being herself. That is so neat? It is so unique?

Oda is NOT a shining example of feminism guys, (often the opposite), I know this, I am not delusional. But a character that fulfills this specific female fantasy of being seen as adult and capable and intelligent, but without the drawback of being expected to play caretaker- being so casually cooked up and presented by some guy? That’s pretty neat. I’m high-fying him over that for sure

« Freedom You Said? »

I'm gonna try to avoid big spoilers, as I plan to write longfics about this au sooner than not :3

The main premise is that some people (very few) are born with powers in this au, and there's a big hero organization, named Freedom Pals, trying to get to them as soon as possible, so they can avoid the evil ones doing... evil stuff

There are two main hero teams, that I guess will be interacting at some point (I don't have the whole plot thought just yet), which would be m4 and catg, since Butters is Prof Chaos there'll be more on him specifically too

The leader of the first team would be Mysterion, with the power of immortality. He was born with it, and learnt it was useful to protect his family. FP found him and recruited him, he's one of the few heroes with not only all expenses covered but also a salary, and with permission to see his family. Unlike canonical Kenny (and most Kennys I write), FYS Kenny's immortality is rather a regeneration thing, Deadpool style. As all my Kennys, immortality-caused chronic pain, yet he forces himself to ignore it - the way his suit is pretty tight helps with that a bit, too.

Toolshed would be in Kenny's team. He was recruited after a very bad accident (or was it?), which would have killed him on the spot had FP not done anything. He was one of those already superpowered people, with a slight ability to control metal, nothing too big or useful. Yet, FP had him on their lists before the accident happened, so they rebuilt his body, enhanced his powers, turned him into a weapon. All of his prosthetics are in materials he can control, which is very useful in fights. Another of these is placed on his heart, which he has to consciciosly make beat (or connect to a device at night in order to sleep), as if he stops FP will control it remotely, which is extremely painful to him.

Kite arrived to Earth nobody is quite sure when. He can use his voice to speak most human languages, but he's not the best at learning them, nor can he pronounce many things the way it's done (aka heavy alien accent). As soon as he got to this planet, FP were there to take him with them. He has a FP-assigned family, therefore he can meet up with them relatively often. Oxygen is extremely toxic to him, so he uses an air mask to breathe Earth air.

Cartman is from FP himself. Liane works for them, principally cleaning and making rooms comfortable. She needed money and badly, so she offered to do a little extra job, letting them create her a hybrid child. Cartman was the first successful hybrid by FP, which, combined with the whole superhero mentality, gave him a huge ego. He's quite an ass to his teammates and even some random people, but deep deep down, he's a good guy. He wishes to go by Coon, but his teammates don't allow him to, he goes by Raccoon instead. He's the youngest current hero.

Now onto the others!!!

Craig was also born with superpowers, in a relatively normal family. He wasn't aware of them until he turned sixteen however, having to take part in some weird family prophecy. Soon, FP was onto him. He's very much against being a superhero, he'd rather keep his nice and boring life but he has no other choice. His powers include shooting red energy out of his eyes ("they're not lasers!") and hands, super strenght, and short-distance flying. He despises all of it.

Tweek's powers were between an accident and not. He got struck by lightning, yet was left with no physical mark, and that got attention from FP. After several experiments and drugs, they not only made him immune (CANDY IF YOU SEE THIS THANKS FOR GIVING ME THE WORD YOU SAVED MY LIFE) to electricity, but gave him all storm-related powers. He's, however, not the best at controlling them just yet, and this whole thing increased his already tendency to panic about every little thing. His skin is so cold it burns to the touch, too; between this and plain comfort, his superhero costume is simply an slightly oversized sweater.

Mosquito was the one who inspired FP to keep experimenting with hybrids, which would later on cause Cartman's whole existence. At twelve, he was bitten by - typical - an infected mosquito, which caused his powers to appear. He has mosquito wings that allow him to fly however he wishes (it took him a long time to get there), and he sucks blood with two fangs he has, which he needs to survive. Other physical changes too, but these were the main ones. The FP doctors know damn well he has h-EDS, but they're unsure on whether it was caused by the infection or it was a preexisting condition - they won't let him know about this, though: he thinks it is normal.

[I haven't finished developing Fastpass nor Tupperware just yet, but I will share their info as soon as I do]

People out of these teams now!!!

Scott would be four years older than Mosquito, and he used to be his team captain. They were very close, both as friends and as student - teacher. He has diabetes type 1, and also superstrenght, which FP hasn't found any relationship between - yet he believes they are connected. Deceased.

CallGirl was experimented and given powers by a secret organization, making her a soldier since she was a little kid. FP rescued her, and finding her technology control powers useful, they made her a spy, having her find anyone with powers and get them into FP. She was Stan's girlfriend, and also the one to find out about his powers. They broke up after the accident, though. Stan is still the only one who exclusively calls her Wendy, even knowing about her identity as CallGirl.

Timmy has a similar background as CallGirl, but instead of technology control he received telekinesis and telepathy. FP is unsure on whether he's disabled because of the experiments, or because he was born disabled, nor Timmy wishes to answer. He can technically communicate mentally, but he much prefers to use an AAC device - will only communicate by TP, and reclutantly so, if it's strictly necessary. Such as Wendy, he works as a spy-informant. [Might be changed in the future, as I'm not sure I'm entirely comfortable with playing into this whole character trope]

Chaos is a villain, therefore, not part of FP, nor he wishes to be. He has had electric powers since he was born, shooting lightning out of his hands. His parents, afraid of and for him, had him locked in a closed room for his whole childhood, until he ran away - killing them in the process - when he was fifteen. He began recruiting Chaos Minions at sixteen, by suggestion of General Disarray, and now he has a quite big army. His electricity used to burn his hands, so now he has low mobility and control in them. He developed a pair of gloves he uses to increase his control over his powers and decrease their negative effects on his body. He got his eye injury from Raccoon, he covers it with an eye patch so the low vision he has in that eye doesn't distract him.

General Disarray joined Chaos soon after he became a villain. He lacks powers, yet he's extremely intelligent in all areas, principally technology. He built the virtual walls around the few Chaos things online, which not even CallGirl can tresspass. He helps Chaos make plans more often than not.

Hi there, I'm hartlesshart! I am somewhat new to the fandom (started Zero Dawn in early 2022) but once I discovered Aloy, there was no going back. Drawing Horizon fanart has really rekindled my love for drawing for fun and I will always be thankful. These games shook me to my core and have inspired me to never stop being curious about the world we live in.

Q: What is a favorite piece of work you've done (i.e. completed, working on, in concept)?

I had a blast with my Machine Strike piece. I loved trying to cram as many characters as possible into one scene (and also chibi-fying them)

Friendship is magic. Pokemon pairings. I have a soft spot for any kind of outcast character (as they are very relatable).

Q: What is an unexpected thing or fun fact about you?

I’m a proud snake mom and She-ra season 2 sent me to the hospital (true story).

Q: What has been your favorite thing about working on this project so far?

I’ve absolutely loved working with the rest of the Seyka squad on bringing this route to life. (And our big little ‘dreadful’ machine the girls will deal with) It is an honor to work with Silketara, whose art is phenomenal and I feel like I’ve learned so much!

Monstertober week 3: Gnoll

The Farm of Spencer Spector; Validation Hyaenidae

Note: since gnoll's are just a human-hyena species i just decided to have a were hyena. I also named her as a reference to the hyena waffles which you can learn about here!

The Annual Ashwood  Halloween Fest was on its way, and Spencers farm was in preparation. Every year Spencer Spector had a stall where she and her friends sold baked goods, fruit preserves, and other foodstuffs. They already had their stock planned out but were stuck on a theme. 

“Why did you think a horror movie would be a good idea last year?” Mic asked Zyler as they sat at Spencer Spector’s kitchen table. 

“It was popular.” Zyler shrugged, and crossed off the carebears as a theme option. 

“What about hansel and gretel?” Maple suggested while sitting backwards on one of the wooden chairs, picking her the nails at the end of her dark fingers. 

“We did that two years ago, Spotty.” Seth said from across the warm kitchen, he was at the back door helping Zack count the crates of apples, and sipping a red liquid from his personal thermos. Some of it dribbling down his face.

“You need a bib?” Maple responded, Seth quickly wiped his chin and stuck his tongue out through his fangs, Maple responded in kind.

Mic laughed to themselves as Zyler ignored the two of them. 

“We need something simple and child friendly, several of the other stalls are going to be doing popular kids movies- a few are going to do classic halloween movies, pg-fyed of course…” Zyler chewed on the end of his pencil as he thought. 

Mic looked at the list of possible themes, “What about Wizard of oz?”

Zyler shrugged and added it to the list, “I am not being the west witch.”

As Maple and Seth stated their own opinions of Mic’s suggestion, Mic felt their phone buzz. 

Maple was twisting a strand of her dark, coiled hair between her fingers while Seth and Zyler debated the prospects of making a tinman costume when she heard Mic mutter,

“Oh not again…”

Then Mic stood up and excused himself with a neutral face, walking towards the front exit. Maple followed them with her eyes until they were out of view, she saw their face fall into a scowl the minute they left the kitchen. Going to their phone. 

Something in her gut squirmed. Mic had only been on the farm for a few weeks, but in that time she never saw them anything close to angry. 

Trusting her instincts, she excused herself and quietly followed where they went. Mic had left out the front door and was walking into the woods, furiously typing something onto their phone. 

With a deep breath Maple’s body shifted into a Spotted Hyena, where she trotted after them.

She found them in a clearing, sitting on a stone and tapping the screen aggressively, when they were done they shoved the phone into their pocked and dragged their hands down their face, not caring about their smudged eyeliner. 

With a frustrated sigh they slammed their fist down against the rock, before shrieking and pulling their hand back up with a grimace on their face. 

Maple immediately smelled blood, and popped her head through the bushes, transforming back to her human form. 

Mic looked up from their hand surprised, but relaxed when they saw it was Maple. 

“Hey.” they nodded.

“Hey...” Maple stood with her arms crossed, picking at one of the studs on her red jacket as she debated what to say. 

“Your gonna wind up on a druid’s bad side if this is your way of stress relief.” she joked, gesturing to the woods around them. 

Mic smiled faintly and went back to assessing their injury. 

Maple walked over and pointed inquisitive at the spot beside them, Mic nodded and she sat down. 

“Cant say I blame you for coming out here,” she shrugged. “Tree’s are pretty great to vent to.”

“Im just… annoyed.” Mic sighed. 

Maple looked at him with an unamused expression,

“Right… because punching something so hard your hand splits open is the most common reaction to annoyance.”

Mic chuckled, “You sound like Zyler.”

“Well its not my fault he has a habit of being right”

Mic was still staring at their hand, but their eyes looked as if their mind was elsewhere. 

“I've got a punching bag you could borrow if you need to.” she suggested. Mic looked up towards the canopy of dark green, little speck of sunlight were streaming through the weaving branches. With a deep breath they said,

“I just… theres something that…” they waved their hand as they looked for the words, “-Someone… that i don't want finding me here. I like it here.”

Maple’s face became serious as she listened.

“I feel like myself here. I feel… safe… here.” Mic looked back to the split skin on their knuckles. They jumped slightly when Maple placed a hand on their shoulder. 

“You are safe here.” she said seriously, then she smirked and held up her hand. The nails stretched into dark claws. “And if anyone tries to change that, they’ll have to deal with these and Spencer’s shot gun.”

Mic let out a laugh, then looked sad. 

“Thanks but… I don't think I want that.”

“Look if someone’s bothering you, and nothing you’ve done has worked so far, sometimes scaring them is the only way.”

Mic was silent for a while then looked at her,

“Including family?” they asked quietly. 

Maple’s face froze as she processed that question. Her instinct was ‘yes’ but she knew that sometimes it wasn't that easy. 

A random bully schmuck was much easier to get rid of than family. 

After a time she shrugged and stood,

“We should get you a bandaid before that gets infected.” she said.

Mic nodded and the two went back to the farmhouse. 

They walked into the entryway as Maple wandered off to find Zyler, he’d gone to talk to Spencer, Mic went over to Seth.

“Dose this look infected to you?” they asked.

“Idunknow,” Seth shrugged, straw in mouth, “Theres a way i can tell but i’d have to taste the blood.”

Mic pulled their hand back, “I’ll pass.”

“Thought so.”

Maple came back with Zyler and Spencer, Spencer was both carrying a box of spare decor and trying not to laugh. 

“Do you think im a living med-kit?” Zyler asked Maple.

“No, I think your a pain in the tail.” She told him. 

As Mic and Zyler walked over to the sink Maple pulled Spencer to the side, and spoke quietly. 

“Can’t you do ‘insta healing’?” Mic asked as Zyler cleaned the wound.

“Only if you want me to pass out.”

Seth, who was getting paper towels from the cabinet, chimed in, “you say that like its a bad thing.”

Once their wound was bandaged they let the vampire and witch bicker and left the kitchen, in the hallway Spencer approached them. 

“Hey Mic,”

“Yeah Miss Spencer?”

“Just so you know,” she sincerely put a hand on their shoulder, Mic saw Maple standing behind her with a smile. 

“Zyler’s not against hexing a transphobe or two.” Spencer smiled. 

Mic couldn't help but giggle. 

“Thanks,” they said through laughs, “I’ll think about it.”

Week 1, Week 2

What's New Scooby-Doo?

So, yeah, long time no see you guys or read you, but after watching several videos of Simple Plan's last concert in my FY of Tiktok I couldn't help but get some energy out and post this Batfam idea out of my head.

…………….

Suppose Simple Plan comes to Gotham, for a concert, all with proper security and with special insurance that several artists get to be able to quietly do their concerts without risk or ups and downs.

All the brothers decide to go to the concert because they really don't usually go to these activities without some ulterior motive… and because it's Simple Plan. It really is a good band, why not?

But, Damian, being the youngest (I don't know, let's assume he's really no older than 7), refuses to go in normal clothes.

Thalia had gotten him a pair of Scooby Doo pajamas the last time she visited him, and he's been wearing them almost every day; because he's a dog and he loves dogs; and, to complete the game, Bruce managed to get all the Scooby Doo episodes for Damian to watch.

… unfortunately, the night of the concert is one of those nights that Damian ussually do his Scooby Doo's marathon.

And he already had a tantrum, because Damian doesn't usually have tantrums, when he noticed that Tim and Cass wanted to put a miniature band polo shirt on him.

Since it's almost time to go, and they don't want to be late, Dick and Jason simply put him in the car, put some sneakers on him and drive at full speed to the concert.

And that's when the magic happens.

During the concert, they start playing the intro of the series.

And, since he was quite down all night, Damian seems to cheer up and starts jumping all over the place, trying to watch the Scooby Doo videos on the screens.

Jason carries him on his shoulders, trying to prevent him from hurting himself jumping in such a crowded place, thanks to that a member of the Marketing staff manages to spot him (let's be honest, Jason did a great job, he has a respectable height, surpassing Bruce).

And when Dick and Tim least realize it, Damian is jumping on stage, singing and dancing the best he can while the band plays, Jason watching him from the sidelines. Cass, Duke and Steph recording the moment so they can share it with Bruce.

At the end of the night, Damian is completely knocked out in the back of the car, full of candy that some assistants gave him on the sly. With his costume full of confetti and, to everyone's great tranquility and misfortune, autographed by all the members of the band.

No one now knows how to tell Thalia that she should get a new pair of pajamas. At least if they want to keep the autographs on this one from being erased by wear and tear.

Chapter 104-2 thoughts

We're truly in the endgame now, and with this, there are only three full chapters left. Scary thought. Spoilers under the cut.

So first off, whether or not you've seen my posts about the manga ending, I won't bore you with the 8000 words of me being upset that I could easily churn out, but in summary (a) I am sad and (b) there's plenty of time left to wrap everything up, don't worry.

With that out of the way, let's talk about the chapter itself. Last time left off with the creation of a new dimension (via a wish) that seems to have sealed our main characters inside, with others unable to enter it.

As I correctly predicted, the house I spotted is the house in which Father raised Nora and Yato, both of whom have reverted to their weakest forms. Since trash dad is all-powerful here, he was able to force Yato into a kid (who is unable to fight back as easily) and Nora as the embryo-esque water monster she was before being named by the koto no ha. Yukine has also become the wolf (though tbh I think we all thought it was a cat) he was starting to turn into whenever he lost control of himself, right before Father named him and again when he was fighting Yato. I'm interested to see what Hiyori will look like. Perhaps her ayakashi form from the hospital chapters? I've been saying for years that we're not done seeing that form, so now would be a prime time to bring it back.

I'm interested in what trash dad classifies as "those sacrificed" to birth Japan. The Emishi, an indigenous people assimilated into the larger Shinto pantheon? The spirits who became corrupted and turned into ayakashi instead of being named as shinki? All the souls of the dead, regardless of whether they turned into ayakashi or not? Something else? The creatures we've seen (can we call them koto no creatures or something?) don't look like any characters we know, despite having rather distinctive appearances.

Whatever they are, the art was cool as fuck this chapter. For some reason I thought being this close to the end meant we wouldn't get any new monsters introduced, but apparently not.

With having Izanami's crest over their eyes and wrists, they're clearly of Yomi, so my inclination is to say they're ayakashi, given a more human form in trash dad's weird dimension bubble. They're also bad news in Yato's eyes, considering his desperation to drag Nora away. From Shiigun's POV, we can also see the creatures clawing at the surface of the water, showing they're able to leave this dimension, where I guess they'll zombie-fy all of humanity unless the main characters stop Father.

One thing I'm really interested in is, when trash dad was choking Yato out, he recalled of all panels the one where he's crying. Yato looked terrified when he was doing that, and even had the thought "I'm scared," so my thought is it's because trash dad said "Your father will always be on your side" at that time. Yato has realized that was always a lie, he was only ever a tool, and he has now outlived his usefulness. His father will kill him, and kill Nora, and everyone else who gets in his way, so he can pretend he fixed his issues all those centuries ago.

Side note, Father said there are no reincarnations in this world. I wonder if he thinks Yato is able to reincarnate in the regular world? Which would mean Hiyori's belief is enough to bring him back even if he dies, which I really hope he doesn't.

So, speaking of which, Yukine to the rescue. My god I have so many emotions about this. Yato's last thoughts being "Why...?" the same as Yukine's final thoughts. Yukine breaking out of the fridge like he never was able to, in a burst of cherry blossoms, to save the only real father he ever had. Yall mind if I [gets put in a hydraulic press]

Yukine has resolved his internal struggle about not existing in the world--he's happy to exist as he is, by the side of people who care about him.

His whole monologue, and the raw feeling of seeing his bloodied fingernails, really drives home the horror of his existence as a character. I'm trying to write something that isn't just summarizing what Yukine himself said, and failing. He said it all perfectly.

And thus concludes his character arc, although as I have stated repeatedly I really want to know what became of his father. Since they're in this dimension surrounded by what could be corrupted spirits of the dead, I wonder if his father will appear among them. Or if they're saving that for an epilogue-type thing? But if it's left unanswered, I won't complain, because that will mean the fic I wrote back in 2020 hasn't been disproven, lolol.

Anyway, there's a lot to appreciate this chapter, from driving Father's viewpoint that his "kids" were tools home to Yukine standing up to an abusive father figure, but it's hard to come up with the words for what that means to me. I'll probably just reblog a bunch of posts with various incoherent sobbing noises in the tags.

My problem with Sarada’s timeskip outfit

I wasn’t going to do this but with the number of times i have seen that outfit on my FY page on other platforms, I kinda wanna gauge my eyes out.

But I’ll refrain from that and explain why I don’t like it. If you like it that’s your thing.

I won’t be too mean so let’s get to the Pros first.

- This is Ikemoto’s own flare and I respect that. Kishimoto did encourage him to do this own thing rather than copy his style, and he’s doing it, so that’s a plus.

- It helps separate Kishi’s and Ike’s work better.

- It’s kinda cool and fashionable once you get use to it. The outfit is also a continuation of her pre timeskip ( which is also problematic for me)

However, for me the Cons outweighs the Pros about 3 times at least

1. It doesn’t suit Sarada as a person.

She’s quite level-headed and practical since the beginning of the series. Sarada also doesn’t express her emotions openly. She’s not much of a fashion gal who needs to dress cute and sexy all the time as well.

She’s also a responsive and active girl.

As we know, outfit is a big part of character design, it shows the readers part of the character’s characteristics, and we can understand which vibes they gonna give off.

Heels and loose jackets don’t help indicate the activeness, maturity and seriousness that Sarada has.

The jacket and the shoes being big and heavy don’t indicate a powerful taijutsu user who has Chidori ( a technique that is speed based) as one of her arsenal.

Various accessories don’t show a girl who is efficient and analytical right on the spot.

So a drippy and ngl sexy outfit doesn’t help showing what kind of person she actually is.

2. The design doesn’t match the world building

Yes this is peace time, yes it is also a fantasy world, but Naruto character designs have always been more functionalities oriented. Tell me you look at a basic jounin outfit and say it doesn’t scream life bulletproof jacket.

However it’s still a fantasy so not everything has to 100% be functionalism because if that’s the case then they’ll all wear bulletproof jackets.

If you see the main designs of each period you can see how it evolved over time: from samurai-ish armor to bulletproof style jacket and lighter version of it in Boruto time.

This problem comes in 2 parts

- It hinders Sarada’s very own power

She has her mother’s strength and her father’s ninjutsu, which requires her being fast and active. A big bomber jacket which is always fallen on one shoulder ( and stay there with all of her movements smh ) doesn’t help her very physical fighting style.

And you better tell me how this kind of sleeves does not hinder her hands’ signs, esp the thumbs.

- The design contradicts a very crucial element of Naruto’s clothing design: Maneuverability

This one is quite a controversial and people have screamed left and right about this so I’ll just argue some stuff they said

1. Heels are not a problem. She can fight in heels since there were other women in Naruto did that.

Yes and no.

Yes theoretically she can. However Sarada as an active teen Chunin won’t do that.

The famous examples of women who fight in heels were Mei, Tsunade and Konan. However Konan often turns herself into paper and she floats/ flies a lot so she didn’t even need her legs as much lol.

Mei and Tsunade are straight up Kages, they don’t have to fight that often. And when they have to fight, it’s either ambush or a sudden wtf thing appears out of nowhere.

If you look at every Chunin girl designs, none of them fight in heels. Especially those taijutsu specials aka Tenten, Hinata and her mom!

2. There are ppl who wear long coats but still can fight so can she. ( aka the Akatsuki and Hinata)

The coat is part of the character designs to help gives off a cool, dangerous and mysterious vibe for the new villain, so that the readers can be hooked and keep reading.

Still the coat is quite easy to move in even when it’s zipped up.

The lower part ( idk what to call it ) can still split apart after that.

Hinata has a big jacket but it’s to show her shyness and introverted nature, and she zips that shit up wtf.

Summary:

I guess my very main problem is that it doesn’t suit Sarada’s very own character, the others are just favour to the main dishes.

Thoughts on Loki, Episode 2-5: Science/Fiction

Can these characters just cool it with the dying metaphors for one second? First we get pruning, which sends people to the end of time, which is basically purgatory. Mobius gets pruned, Loki gets pruned. Sylvie feels left out so she prunes herself.

Now that pruning is old, spaghetti-fying takes its spot this season as the new way to not really die at least not permanently. Not only does p-p-poor Mr. Victor Timely "die" heroically, we can assume everyone else got spaghetti-fied in the explosion of the Temporal Loom. And then when Loki gets the gang back together in Ep. 5, they get noodle-d all over again! Not to mention the poor record store guy, whose first reaction to the incomprensible failure of spactime was to warn and/or protect Sylvie. Aw, what a guy.

I have to confess I still don't understand the Temporal Loom. It's taking raw time and weaving it into timelines, and without it...time falls apart? Without it, time is "raw" and organized time doesn't exist? Okay, then how did the universe work BEFORE the Temporal Loom? Does every universe have a TVA and a Temporal Loom literally creating their timeline? Why does the fabric of spacetime literally depend on Kang? That doesn't seem right.

It would make more sense if "raw" time is still something people can live in, and the Loom was just organizing "raw" time for He Who Remains' timeline. But after Episode 5, it's pretty clear that the literal fate of the multiverse depends on the Temporal Loom working, and I find that a bit ridiculous. Hopefully I'm missing something.

I have a theory about Loki's time jumping. We see him meeting himself at different points in time several times in the show. He really seems fractured, scattered throughout time. What if this is what it's like to be spaghetti? Maybe each of these Lokis are a single noodle of the Loki scattered through time, and each noodles looks like a snapshot of Loki, until they glitch and twist and collapse on themselves, snapping to other times like a noodle attached to another end.

Does this theory affect anything? Absolutely not.

In the next episode, Loki, the fledgling God of Stories, will attempt to rewrite the Temporal Loom explosion so they can save the TVA and all time, always, because apparently the multiverse needs the TVA to function. As he keeps trying, we are sure to see more explosions and more spaghetti before he figures it out. And that leads me to my point:

Dying and being reborn with new knowledge is such an integral theme to Loki. This new Loki is a symbolic reincarnation of the Loki that that Thanos killed. He made friends, learned humility, fell in love, seriously considered questions about the greater good, and then acknowledged his power and responsibility as a voice in the reform of the TVA.

Whenever he experiences metaphorical "death", he learns information that changes his entire paradigm. When he's pruned in the first season, he goes through his own little Divine Comedy. He learns perspective about himself from spending time with his variants. He learns about Alioth, a pivotal piece of the multiversal war. And he meets He Who Remains, who changes his entire perspective on existence.

In Season 2, Loki's rebirth after the explosion of the Temporal Loom shows him his friends and their backstories, what gives them joy and why he wants to save the TVA so badly. With this new understanding of what he really wants, he is able to control his time jumping, as if he's been reborn onto a higher plane.

The fall streaming schedule this year has been a gold mine. There was Gen V, Loki, Rick and Morty (ironically the spaghetti episode is coming up...or is it on purpose...) and now even the return of Invincible. Loki has come really close to the quality of last season, and it does a good job of doing something really different and yet thematically the same to keep a coherent and gripping show.

Random information about the rottmnt x hollow knight au copy-pasted from the Troublemakers server:

I won't be able to replace every hollow knight character with a rottmnt character (since it's hard to find matches for all of them) but I'm gonna try my best to keep as many characters as possible so far I've chosen: Draxum as the Pale King April as Hornet The turtles as the Vessels (all four canon turtles are wandering vessels like the knight. I do have plans for the Broken Vessel and the Hollow Knight but you have to Wait Splinter takes the place of Elderbug. Big Mama as the Collector (probably was also the Lord Fool, though instead of dying on the throne she simply leaves it. I considered making her Herrah at first but then she'd have to be April's mom and I didn't know how I felt about that.) I was thinking of putting Baxter Stockboy in the role of Milliebelle Specifically because I think it's in-character for him to open a banking service specifically to steal peoples' money but I'm not 100% on that one yet

So just like in Hollow Knight canon, April is the child of the Pale King (Draxum) and whoever is going to take the spot of Herrah (probably gonna be April's actual mom in the show, I just gotta figure out how to spider-fy her) April was born/hatched a little bit before all of the vessels did and the Hollow Knight made it out of the abyss. Both were raised side-by-side for about 16 years until they determined that the Hollow Knight was "ready" for the black egg (April got taken away from "Herrah" after a few years in preparation for the dreaming thing). Well in this au the abyss has a very weird effect where time just Doesn't Exist in it. So someone could be in the abyss for millions of years and technically not even a second has passed down there. Obviously they can still DO things but they kind of have a constant hazy "how long has passed since I did X action" thing going on. Because NO time has passed, it just feels like it has. WELL with the sacrifice of the Hollow Knight, the entirety of Hidden Hallow was put under this same stasis. One long neverending night. It takes a couple of years for anyone to notice, going in and out of the city, that while not even a full day cycle has passed while they've been in there everything feels… wrong when they leave. THEY feel wrong. Everything looks wrong. Why does it feel like they've missed so much? It doesn't take too long for the steady stream of bugs to slow to a near-stop. Everyone still in the city is frozen in time. Not even a moment has passed, what's there to worry about? Hm.. was that an hour ago or just last second? Oh well, they better keep mining. Anyway. My excuse to keep the teenage part even though hundreds of years has passed since the sealing of the black egg.

Skincare is indeed effective!!

Welcome back to Tannie's blog again! Ta da~

Long time no post..ahh..I know..I got busy with some emotional and study stuffs..but yet I am back cause I hv had to share u this!

Now u probably came to know what I wanted to share cause of my blog title..

I would say According to me I was the only girl in the whole planet who doesn't know about skincare even though I am 18..damn..unbelievable right..

For me skincare was just..allovera gel before sleep and wash it in the morning. Thats it!! Uhh..well it did work but it would take like alott of time..

I did used to see alot of skincare stuffs that came on instagram or youtube and used to buy it but I didn't knew how to use it or when to use it or how much to use it..what if it creats a reaction with other cream. And because of all these suspiciousness I used to buy it but it would always stay in my cupboard unused..

But oops! look at the fate..

In December, I guess I got reaction from some cream and my whole face was covered with faint spots. My parents being the guide started giving in their methods cause they are like always into improving me and I love that. They started their skincare on me, it was all natural like multani mitti, some Patanjali cream and stuffs, etc etc..and soon my face was clear but there were some spots on my cheeks and they were red and collective, and they were like on my upper cheeks and even after trying so many methods..it just never goes away!

Now soon I was soo determined that I have to remove this spots from my upper cheeks and then I started giving the skincares on my fy pages of many social medias a try. To be honest I surely did a lot of research and I found a combination of skincare routine which was common in most of the videos..but still its the internet world, we cant blindly trust everything. So I approached my bestfriend for this and she guide me that it was the correct one, I even went to alot of the other friends and some of them are very sure that they work since they hv experimented it on themselves and it turned out to be a success! So i went with that routine

I didn't knew much of the skincare products so I just picked the popular one and that was

And it turned out to be my best decision! I recently started it and It has only been 1 week! And the spots on my cheeks are not as red as it was its just a tini mini bit fade..only a lil..but I am soo glad and so happy that its working!

I wanna share you guys the skincare routine! And I have used it personally and I think if you guys try it..it may work on u!

Cleanse your face with the cleanser and wash it properly! Cause Not cleansing properly may cause you breakouts.

Pat your face dry! Dont rub it or else it will hurt and make your skin extra sensitive. Pat or dab it dry slowly with a clean towel.

Take a small amount of toner and Apply it by patting it on your face with your clean hands and fingers or you can use cotton always. And wait for it to air dry.

Then apply moisturizer on your face after the toner is air dry.

Thats it!

Make sure you guys remain clean with your hands and finger. Be aware of your allergies too!

In a perfect world, the Art of Movement classes would pass without need for direct intervention of the instructor, Fy-Tor-Ana muses to herself as the young Twi'lek girl steps out of the course and into the center of the room. She wonders briefly if the Order needs to reconsider its candidates; if it had been up to her, she's not sure she'd have chosen Hera Syndulla.

Then again... Everyone has the potential for something, she reminds herself of what her old master had once said. You just have to figure out what it is.

That's not my job, she finds herself arguing back as Hera comes to stand attentively before her. My job is to teach kids to be good at this. Or, I suppose, to tell the Masters that some people just aren't cut out for it... She sighs faintly as Hera announces herself, then points to a spot on the floor near her feet.

"Sit there," she says quietly. "Watch. Not your classmates. Watch the course. There's a pattern. See if you can find it."

Hera has never liked the Art of Movement class, and it’s as if this class does not like her back, either. No matter how much she practices after hours, something always goes wrong. No matter how much she keeps her focus, or how hard she tries to reach out to the Force and rely on it as Master Ana says. She’s often left the course trying to hide tears of frustration from everyone, escaping to quiet, isolated corners of the Temple to have a break. Not understanding why, the Force won’t let her in, or why her body won’t cooperate. It seems like the youngling simply can’t do it — and as her agemates get chosen one by one by a Master, she watches them leave their clan’s dorms, resigning herself to stay until she’s sent to the Corps or something. 

(She’d be just fine in the Corps, really — if someone notices her scores in flight simulations and sends her to the Pilot Corps instead of getting to be a Padawan like all her friends do)

The course started well until she reached half of it (more than usual) and an obstacle slam in her chest. She doesn’t have enough time to realize what happened until she on the ground, panting for air as her chest burns with pain for a hot minute. A minute during which she can feel Master Ana’s gaze on her, making her green cheeks blush in embarrassment. Looking defeated, the youngling walks up and doesn’t really notice Caleb wishing her luck — the luck leaves her as soon as she enters the class anyways. 

Swallowing hard as she tries to keep up a brave face once in front of the teacher. 

“I’m here, Master.”

in the dream sequence, everyone's speaking norwegian. i thought overlaying the translated text gave it a cool like "echoey" feel 😳 since it's a distant memory and a dream at the same time, that sort of separation between sound and meaning feels bigger. it's a vibe

(also it's my first language so it's easy to use without having to study up beforehand LMAO)

(there's obviously several various different cultures that serve as inspirations for kjerag's visual design and lore, but sort of, linguistically(?), it borrows some from norwegian (such as Kjerag being a real place--and popular hiking spot!--in norway, not even super far from my family lol). you could say this all started when Arctosz dropped a norwegian "fy faen" right into the Break the Ice script, implying some things about the language that is Spoken there, which i'm Still Recovering From bc it was Very Funny)

Speaking Of, that's one of the untranslated bits huh. BHJDFDN there's a couple

fy faen - a high tier curse word, everybody's favorite. "faen" is the main swear, "fy" is an intensifier to amplify the profanity. on page 9, it might be most thematic to translate it as a truly heartfelt "god (fucking) damn it"? LOL (i could also see myself rendering it as simply "fuck" depending on mood; neither is a direct translation). let enya say faen

kjære kjeragandr - this repeated refrain is the title of the comic, "dear kjeragandr"

ensia on page 6 - she's trying to say "kjære kjeragandr" too, but she's very young here--she's started talking but hasn't grasped all the sounds yet. i sort of fudged the rendering of that to try and make it identifiably "an echo" of what enciodes said, even if you couldn't understand what it meant. (she can't say R yet, so it's skipped entirely, while the remaining vowels are repeated as another Æ to simplify it for herself.)

the main loss here is "KJ", which is a very difficult sound--often the one kids acquire very last--which is being substituted with the far easier to say "SJ" sound. this is sort of niche detail, but basically KJ being so difficult is probably the reason "kjerag" in most ingame lines and text is written/pronounced more like "Yerag"; "kj" is not typically a shared phoneme between these languages, so you can't easily transcribe it and many can't pronounce it. because it's a sound you acquire late in the game, ensia doesn't have it down yet at her age and replaces it with a simpler one.

(a SJ (pronounced "SH" as in SHH or HUSH) is the common substitute for KJ, and in some dialects it's beginning to replace KJ entirely even among adults as the language changes. 🧐)

anyway.

as the memory segues into its more erratic form and finally into direct reality, the ethereal sensory gap between sound and meaning in the early memories diminishes and the text is rendered entirely in english. i imagine they're still speaking another language though (whatever they call their language in-universe HSBFHDB THEY ARE SPEAKING KJERAG)

the final scene (where enya wakes up) is set before Break the Ice. it's only after this that kjarr will become more proactive and strike out on her own with the doctor and such... 😏 go funky little goddess go

anyway sorry for rambling i just accidentally put a lot of thought into my gacha catgirl comic. thank you for giving me the excuse to talk about it. HJBDFGFDKMJGB

bestie i am two glasses of wine deep and i am ready to match this rant with one of my own.

you have nailed it, spot on. i feel like so many iterations of gar -- whether it be comic or animated -- really present him as this happy-go-lucky, comedic, playboyish, and yes, DESPERATE FOR APPROVAL guy, without EVERRRRRRR touching on why that could possibly be. and yeah when they butcher his character like that (esp in NTT when i feel like they really leaned on that playboy/misogynistic side of him), it's hard for people to truly understand him...which sucks bc his character truly does hold such depth? but they make him a cardboard cutout and it's like??? who is this man?

and i could write entire novels abt raven. yes i agree fully. the biggest misconception i feel people have about raven is that she is this emotionally devoid human being. that? is the opposite of true? her entire deal is that she is FULL of emotion, and has to bridle it! like i don;t get it when people interpret her as someone who WANTS to be cynical and mean and cold. all of those things (when they are present) are armor. raven feels things. she, in fact, WANTS to feel things.

(sidenote: a lot of people hc raven as asexual and/or aromantic, and that is a totally valid hc and i do understand why it's so common. BUT the above is part of the reason why i don't read her this way...i personally think she has romantic and sexual feeling w/ no idea how to express it.)

but yeah idk like. i guess it's hard for me to "hate" antis, one bc i'm not chronically online like that (lol) and two because, about a lot of things, they are correct. bbrae pretty much does fall flat in canon. raven is often reduced to a pretty object to be paired w gar. but just as often, gar's character is chopped to bits. it's a whole mess.

and fwiw, i don't fault anyone for how they choose to interpret bbrae in fan spaces. like, that's what fanfic and fanart are for, right? if someone wants to picolo-fy the ship, let 'em, imo. but in canon? we DEF deserve better.

Gonna say it yes in canon any time the relationship is actually canon or hinted at, bbrae is kinda boring or seems forced because neither of them tend to be fleshed out INDIVIDUALLY enough for them to be interesting TOGETHER (tho tbh neither of them have been fleshed out well in general in quite a long time)

but I like the ship, not because of canon relationships, but because, when the characters are written at their individual best, with the interpretations I prefer most, I find the dynamics and potential relationship compelling and interesting

That, and I just think they're Neat :)
