[ EDIT - i actually don't like this drawing, but i drew this at 2 am w/ insomnia brain, so it gets a pass, i guess. ]

Vivian may look familiar, and that is because she's Catra's twin sister. and, despite how she looks, they're not identical twins. she is the older twin.

and don't let her looks fool you, she can be just as ferocious as her sister, if not more so, if you teeter her over the edge. Catra certainly has and Vivian hasn't regret her actions so far.

here's some trivial information on my character and some info-nuggets of her story.

taller than Catra

MtF lesbian ( the entire family is of women )

is from the Crimson Waste

is a scrapper

has shorter claws than Catra does ( retracts them )

despite the image above, she's very upfront and bordering on aggressive with her thoughts and feelings ( she's also buff )

doesn't like Scorpia

gets into fights with Catra almost daily ( physical or otherwise )

was brought in via arrest, but was eventually forced to work for the Horde in order to live

has lost two lives ( one by Catra, one by Hordak )

Vivian would be introduced somewhere around s1-s2, i think. she doesn't get along with her twin at all, and most of that is because Catra doesn't care for her bio-family, when Vivian had practically dropped everything and everyone to see her.

for a while, people confuse her for Catra ( esp Adora ), and gets personally attacked a few times. after, like, the third time, she changes her appearance enough for people to tell the differences and to stop attacking her for things her sister did.

here's her first meeting with Adora ( text ):

Adora - ! Catra.

Vivian - [ holding a drink that's definitely not for children or for her ] 'M not her. Thought you two grew up together.

Adora - ...So, what, you're her sister or something?

Vivian - By blood. By every other definition, she's nothing to me.

Adora - ... Are you...okay?

Vivian - Why do you care? [ takes a swig ] Ain't you on the good side?

Adora - Yes, but... ! Wait, the good side? So, you know what the Horde's doing too?

Vivian - Obviously.

Adora - Then why are you with them?

Vivian - Last I checked, that's none of your business. [ curls up ] Either kill me or leave me alone.

Adora - ...You're not going to do anything?

Vivian - I'm 'off-duty'. There's nothing for me to do.

Adora - ... Okay. Um... I can't just leave you here, though.

Vivan - Then I'll leave. Unless you wanna stop me. [ gets up and walks away ] What's your name...? Oh, right. [ looks back ] Bye, Adora.

Adora - ! [ tries not to shudder as she leaves ] ...Bye.

very awkward, very weird, Adora probably shouldn't have let her get away, but that's a consequence for future Adora and Vivian. maybe. if any consequence ever happens, hehe.

Hello everyone, me and my good friend @mylesofartistry devised a fun crossover AU in the form of a fanfic series.

Basically a series where we put our comfort characters together in the same town and have them get up to all kinds of silly adventures.

It's mainly Dwampyverse set but it also includes characters from Hilda, Steven Universe, The Proud Family, Dexter's Laboratory and several others.

A couple of comfort characters from American Dragon Jake Long, Danny Phantom and Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure will basically be turned into OCs because their character background will be changed. Partially because of us admittedly not watching much of the shows they came from, and partially so the rules of these various worlds can work together better.

We have two fanfics up already, both mine and both involving Linda character growth.

Day 27: Memory FFXIV Write 2024

Memory: something remembered from the past; a recollection.

An entry from the journal of Viviane Jienuex-Vimaroix

Someone asked me today at the bakery as I was packaging their order if I had a favorite memory. It is not a question that a stranger normally asks to make small talk and at the time I was not certain how I would answer it. So I told them I did not. The customer was an Au Ra, who grew up in Thavnair, her Father one of the Radiant Hosts, she shook her head at me and insisted we all have a favorite memory, to recall it we have to tap into life's flow. 

It was not a strange concept for me, I had been told before that time and memory flowed like a river both moving to one point where it became part of something else, and that would become part of something else. The eternal passage of life. That was what it was called or as Doshaine had called it one night, The Way. 

Still, I could not think of one singular memory that I would deem my all-time favorite, and even after this mysterious Raen left my bakery I could not get the question out of my head. It lingered there as I packaged other orders and was there as we did the baking for the morning. It followed me home as I walked through the Beds and into the garden Kovalt has cultivated with love and understanding. Through dinner, I heard that question again and eventually, it begged me to sit with my journal to think. Still, there was no favorite to find there were just so many that I had recalled since I was asked the question. 

After our visitor was gone, Xixa had turned to me and told me that the Spinner sent the Raen to test my growth, that she was a voice who knew well the tapestry and how it flowed into the next chapter of life. It was not the first time I had been tested on my faith and growth but it has been the hardest to date. The longer that I sit with these thoughts and this question, I come to the realization that no, I do not have a single favorite memory, it is not that simple and it is quite impossible as memories are forged with every person we know and every place we had ever been. 

Our memories are special to us whether they are good or bad. They let us monitor our growth and see our changes. They remind us of what did not work for us and what we should do more of. Every significant event in our lives, large or not, becomes part of our flow and for me, I had no singular favorite memory as they were all special to me. They helped shape who I have become today. 

There are more dangerous things that dwell in the flow as well and fight to keep us from going forward. Stagnation, lack of trust, and anger just to name a few. They are the traps left in our memories to halt our growth. They become lenses we look through when we look at others and as soon as we see them that is when we push people away. We use those things to build walls around our hearts and minds to stay safe. We were fooled once and never again. Then slowly we begin to treat that person as we were treated until the day comes that we have transformed them into ourselves at the height of our hurt. 

It is such a complex thing, memory. It can build hopes or destroy our dreams depending on what we do with it. We can seek tomorrow with an open heart and mind, or we can become trapped in the past and relive it with people who do not deserve our scorn but do deserve our love. They deserve that place in the flow uninterrupted by our fears. 

If I see the Raen again, I will have an answer for her. No, I don't have a singular favorite memory, I have many. This includes meeting her for she brought to my mind all these rich thoughts, and through doing so pointed out to me my flaws. To go forward I can no longer look back to the darkness behind me or worry about what the future has in store. I must dwell here in the present and now. It is where the adventure truly is after all.

Here me out:

Janitor: Anyone can get this job, but it should to that journalist Gerard and he reports straight to Kaiba because he hears everything going on at that school. Security Guard: Valon. He was thrown in juvie for fighting so he isn't afraid to throw hands. Mythology/Folklore: Raphael. Just look at his deck. Gym Teacher: Alister. Have you seen that man in a crop top? Shredded! Occult Teacher: Bakura. He would relish this and kids would find his fondness for thw strange and supernatural rather endearing. Alchemy Teacher: Marik. They need someone to go over Banner's work. Girls Dorm Head: Mai. Fonda Fontaine already has to be a full-time nurse and gym teacher, so let Mai lead the girls. She would probably let them all live in the Girl's Dorm but enforce the different colored uniforms (there are female Slifer and Ra uniforms for Yugioh Online). Girl's Gym Coach: Vivian. Apparently she is skilled in martial arts too! Game Design Class: Duke. He still runs his start up on the side plus Dungeon Dice Monsters being added to the curriculum is a win. Superintendent: Joey. He's just a figurehead and he knows it, but it's mostly to shut down any arguments that Seto hired people based on nepotism because in what world would Seto Kaiba hire Joey Wheeler for something so important?

I love all of this.

Specifically Seto being like “I didn’t higher these people because I like them! You think I like Wheeler?”

Reporter/parent: “isn’t he your husband’s best friend?”

Seto: “no comment.”

But like no one would question it. Most of them are world class duelist or have made their names in their field. Sure Seto’s known them for years but imagine your local billionaire higher people who are at the top of their fields to teach at the school he owns that your child goes to. You’re not going to say anything. He’s giving those kids the best education.

I can also just picture Joey goofing off at his job. Constantly visiting the campus to give Sheppard and Crowler heart attacks. Just cause it’s funny.

He also visits the other duel academies around the world. The staff hate him cause they think he’s not qualified for superintendent (they are right, dorm master yes man in charge of all schools no) but the students love him because he rocks up cancels all classes and duels anyone stupid enough to ask.

None of this is cannon (probably) they might come in as guest teachers or maybe Seto does a Pro week/month were they all come in and show off.

Although Bakura, Duke, and Mai are tempting. All I love seeing the Oricalcos boys becoming part of the team.

im tme and im just gonna preface this before this ask, its nothing bad and its not a criticism, more of an observation! i mean none of this critically and moreso am looking for an opinion

do you think theres a reason for why a lot of media recently is going for transfem characters when they have their trans characters? tokenism usually, but generally i find when theres a trans character in a piece of media shes typically transfem. and occasionally nonbinary for the extra Blizzard Diversity Points in the eyes of Cishet People lol.

i can name plenty of trans women characters - Kiku from One Piece (though one piece also has Yamato, a trans man), Natalie in Big Mouth, Bridget in Guilty Gear (though this is a correction of the past), Unique in Glee, Denise in Twin Peaks, Lily in Zombieland, Alluka in HxH, Vivian in TTYD (though she has a tricky history due to localization cowards), Perfuma in She-ra (after production iirc), Talia in League and Gwen Stacy (heavy coding. like trans flag colors coding.)

Though I don’t know as many trans men - Yamato in One Piece, Sheldon in Glee, Barney from Paranormal Dead End Park or whatever that shows called, Bow in She-Ra, Viktor in Umbrella Academy (though due to the actor’s irl transition), and Alice Yabusame from YTTD. Obviously im missing plenty just as i am with trans women, but i think its interesting i can still name so few transmasc characters as a trans man myself

im not saying this as a bad thing, especially not as “trans women get more rep than trans men!!” because its just… weird to proclaim. especially with the history trans women have in media - for every well written, lovely portrayal of a trans women, theres a million caricatures behind her.

because most of these studios arent stocked with trans people making content for trans people, not like Maddie in Celeste, i just was curious why theres so many trans women characters. because of how radical the existence of trans women is, and how much more political transfem identities are made due to transmisogyny, is a good portrayal of a trans women deemed more diverse? Does this history of transfem characters make devs and writers think “if we do it right, we’ll win the trans crowd!”?

again, NONE of this is criticism. im so happy for trans girls who see themselves in bridget, gwen, talia, or anyone else i mentioned and anyone else i forgot. im so glad they finally get to have characters that arent vile portrayals of men in dresses or the archetypal “ambiguous twinky anime boy pretending to be a girl”. but im just interested in why its always trans women? do you think devs see it that way?

I mean realistically it's probably just because until fairly recently the average person didn't even know what a trans man even is

The way the internet comes for independent cartoon creators is insane. I saw it with Vivian and her stuff and now with the Amazing Digital Circus. I thought it was just okay, but people snapping at it and its fandom, and then blaming the show for the actions of this fandom...People never have that type of negative energy for CN or Netflix cartoons and their creators. The She-Ra creator got a slap on the wrist for his racist comments. Vivian and people like her can never seem to catch a break, she's had a lot more controversies, but IMO, people would've never made as big a deal about things like the old VAs being replaced (which is shitty) if she was a part of a bigger budget studio.

I do not make fanart for any fandoms, I just post my own OCs with little to no explanation. If you happen to follow me when I do fanart once in a blue moon, just know it's not conistent!
