Celebrity Lie Detector Test
Walker Scobell X Reader | Series | You Belong With Me🔱 Part 5
You were in the car going to your first celebrity lie detector test.
Tumblr media
You then got a text from Walker.
Tumblr media
You were a little nervous. Not that you had anything to hide but what were they going to ask you?
-
You got inside and sat down. They were straping things onto you which mad enough even more nervous.
"Hello" the woman (the interviewer) said with a smile
"Hi" You fake smiled
"So I'm going to ask you some questions and you will answer them then he is going to tell us if you're lying or telling the truth okay?" She said pointing to a man behind glass
"Okay"
The man behind the camera gave the woman a thumbs up.
"Okay what is your name? She asked the first question to make sure the polygraph was working.
"Y/n y/l/n" you replied and the man behind the glass gave a thumbs up👍 (I'm going to put this emoji for if you're telling the truth or not)
"I heard you were going to the Grammys. Are you excited?"
"Yes! I'm so excited!"
👍
"Are you bringing anyone"
"That is a surprise"
👍
"Have you liked all your costars?"
"Yes! All of them are like family to me!"
👍
"Have you ever been in love?"
"No. Not yet."
👎
"I'm lying?"
"Who have you been in love with?"
"I don't know"
👎
"Who have I been in love with?"
"You're most recent album had a lot of love songs on it. Who were the songs about?"
"Usually my songs are about other people or I make a fictional story in my head."
👍
"But what about this album?"
"What do you mean?"
"Well you said usually"
"This album is like all my others. Most of the songs are about a teenage boy and girl who are really good friends then fall in love."
👍
"There has been speculation that the songs are about your costar Walker Scobell. Is he the boy and are you the girl?"
"I've heard people say that. Just because Walker and I are friends doesn't mean EVERY song is about him."
👍
"So you have written songs about Walker?"
"Yes. For example track 3 on my latest album was about having a best friend who will be there for you nomatter what."
👍
"Do you approve of Taylor's boyfriend Travis Kelce?"
"I like Travis very much. He is very kind and protecting of Taylor. But even if I didn't it's none of my business."
👍
"Have you ever stalked fan pages for yourself?"
"Yes! I have many times. I really love the videos they post. It always brings up really nice memories for me."
👍
"Do you have a favorite page?"
"Y/Nnumberforever"
👍
"Have you heard Taylor's new album The Torchured Poets Department?"
"Yes"
👍
"Do you know when she is going to announce Reputation Taylor's version?"
"Yes"
👍
"Do you think Percy Jackson will get a season 2?"
"I hope so"
👍
"Do you have feelings for Walker?"
*eye roll "of course I do he's my best friend"
👍
"But do you love him like romantically?"
"Okay we are done here" You said getting up taking off the the things around your chest and hands
"I'm not in love with Walker. I do love him because he is my best friend! All the press cares about now is Walker! He is my best friend and I will continue to hang out with him! And the press is just going to have to get over it!"
You grab your phone and walk out. This is going to be all over the news tomorrow but you didn't care. You call an Uber and get in.
--Walker call--
Hey
Hey
Aren't you supposed to
be at your interview?
I walked out
What? Why?
They wouldn't stop
asking me if I was in
love with you. And if
my whole album is
about you What did
you say? That I was
done with them
constantly asking me
about you.They don't
care about anything
else anymore! I'm so
sick and tired of them
nosing into my
business!
Where are you now?
I'm in an Uber. I was
thinking I'd grab
some food from
Chipolte.Why?
I'll meet you there
Ooo! You're coming!
Thank you!
See you soon!
Like 5 minutes.
Bye
Bye
-----End call-----
You were sitting at a booth. Waiting for Walker.
"Hey!" You heard his voice behind you. You say nothing and just hug him. His warm arms wrap around you.
"You okay?" He asks
"Yeah. Now that you're here." You pulled away and saw someone with their camera pointed st you. When you looked they immediately put it down.
Before you knew it paparazzi was surrounding the building. You and Walker ordered and sat back down. Trying to ignore the flashes.
"You still good?" He asks
"I'm this close to..." You say starting to get up
"Don't do something you'll regret." He said grabbing your arm and sliding it down to hold your hand. Then your phone rings and you sit back down. It was Taylor.
--Taylor call--
Are you okay?
Is it everywhere already?
I opened instagram
and the top 12 posts
said you walked out
on you're interview.
What happened?
They wouldn't stop asking
if I'm in love with Walker
and if my album was
about him. So I walked
out
I'm so sorry. Press
can get out of line
sometimes.
They try to ruin a
relationship before
it starts
*whispers Walker
doesn't know that
they are right?
*clears throat No
Do you want me to
come and get you
from Chipolte?
How did you know I'm
at Chipolte?
Honey...you're
trending on Instagram,
Google, X just to name
a few. The pictures of
you at Chipotle with
Walker are on every
single social media
platform.
You can't come here
you'll be swarmed
I don't care. I'll come
get you. See you in
like 20 minutes
You see a big black car pull up three men in suits get out then Taylor. They cut through the crowd.
She walks in the restaurant hugs you. She said nothing she just hugged you. She remembered what it was like to be so young and have people following your every move.
"You ready to go?" She asked with a warm smile
You nodded
Walker came up behind you and put his arm around your waist and pulled you in. We walked out and the flashing lights were blinding. People screaming our names. When we finally got I the car and drove away. People followed us but we lost them eventually. You opened your phone to see what people were saying.

Undisclosed thoughts about each Taylor Swift album, with my top five from each. I recently re-listened to a couple albums and I now have some regrets.
Debut: Fetus Taylor is my kryptonite I swear to god. I find it funny that I say this because I'm barely older than her when she initially released the album. Anyway, I'm a country fan as far as all goes. With that said, I love Debut, its so fun and cute. Besides Picture to Burn, she goes fucking feral in that. Hearing adult Taylor sing that in an acoustic setting feels so strange. Again, anyway, I love this album. I love all her albums, even my least favorite still stands as pretty good in my mind.
Should've Said No
Picture to Burn
I'm Only Me When I'm With You
Our Song
Stay Beautiful
Fearless (TV): This is one I re-listened to the other day. It's not bad, the songs that are good are amazing and the songs that aren't good have their reasons for not being good. An example of this is how out of place Keith Urban sounds in That's When. Like, I'm sorry, but who is this? Keith Urban sounded like Keith Urban, but he's not built for a Taylor Swift song or sound structure. Idk, he sounds weird.
Forever and Always
You Belong With Me
Fearless (my favorite title track ever)
Hey Stephen (underrated as FUCK, why are we overlooking this one?)
Tell Me Why
Speak Now (TV): MY BELOVED. Speak Now and Folklore are her two best written albums, thank you and goodnight. It's so beautiful, every song has so much passion and love put into it. Dear everything, it's enough to hurt you if you're not careful
Timeless
I Can See You
Sparks Fly
Mine
Better Than Revenge
Red (TV): oh boy did I speak controversial words last time I talked about this one. I'm sorry Red fans I really am. I bad mouthed this one into the fucking dust. I'm sorry for the pain I put you through 😭. It's not a bad album, I think I was just being unfair.
Treacherous
Message in a Bottle
I Knew You Were Trouble
The Very First Night
The Last Time
1989 (TV): MY OTHER BELOVED. She really pulled this one out of almost nowhere and it fucking slayed. I have child hood nostalgia to associate with this one. Since it was the first full Taylor Swift album I ever listened to. Obviously I'd heard songs from others, but never a full album until 1989. Gorgeous, fun, stunning, slayed the house boots down.
Style
I Know Places
New Romantics
Wildest Dreams
Bad Blood
Reputation: CAN WE HAVE REP TV PLEASE. I'm going to lose my shit in about five seconds the longer I wait for the announcement. I feel like I'm losing my mind at this point just waiting for it. That Rep body suit will be the only thing in my life that's consistent unless she comes out in a green version for that announcement that I hope comes in Vienna or London. This is easily the best comeback album ever created. No argument. None. Don't try. My only negative note on it is that Endgame is the worst song in her entire catalog and it's existence is a burden on my soul. Taylor was not thinking when she brought in friends. I need a single version of this, maybe that'll do it justice.
I Did Something Bad
Call it What You Want
This is Why We Can't Have Nice Things
Ready For it
Don't Blame Me
Lover: I feel like I should say this again, I don't dislike Lover. I do, however, give her some unfair treatment for the objectively TERRIBLE songs on the record. I'm not saying which ones are bad because I'll have a storm of Swifties at my door with their torches. I usually don't come at Taylor for bad songs. Sometimes you gotta though. There's a difference between boring and bad. Lover has songs... that are just bad. I'm sorry. I've tried giving one of those songs a chance because it's a fan favorite, but I have remained on record in saying it's still bad. Sorry Taylor.
Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince
I Think He Knows
Lover
Cruel Summer
Afterglow
Folklore: I made the mistake of slandering Folklore on her birthday. Swifties, I'm sorry. That won't happen again. I will forever go on record saying this is her best written album, but it's also boring as hell. Most of them anyway. Also, FUCK JAMES. Betty has way more tolerance than I ever would. If James showed up to my party I'd fucking attack him. The police would have to be called. Fuck you James.
Invisible String
My Tears Ricochet
Mirrorball
The Last Great American Dynasty
The 1
Evermore: UNDER-FUCKING-RATED ALBUM. I will love Evermore for my entire life and I do not tolerate the slander towards her. I cannot believe just how botched the Folkmore sets got when merging them to make room for the TTPD era.
No Body, No Crime
Champagne Problems
Right Where You Left Me
Willow
Long Story Short
Midnights: This albums actually not as bad, just meh. I don't have much to say about it. I really don't.
Midnight Rain
Lavender Haze
The Great War
Vigilante Shit
Hits Different
TTPD: MY FAVEEE. You don't have to like every song for it to be your favorite. I wanna say that now. Although it's not the point. This album is amazing. I will forever adore it
So High School
I Can Do It With a Broken Heart
Down Bad
The Prophecy
Cassandra
Thats it for me. I'll still be around 🫡

In this year of 2023, we had so much Fall Out Boy astonishing amazingness that it's been very easy for me to forget the one huge disappointment for me of 2023, which was the Taylor Swift song. Like, it's funny because for years I really wanted a Taylor Swift / FOB collab, so it's amazing that I got the song and it doesn't make my list of, like, top twenty FOB moments of the year, because there were so many unbelievable, incredible, stellar moments of the year, like, WHO WOULD HAVE IMAGINED, the band got put on an album released by the biggest star on the planet and I shrugged, who cares?
I listened to the song again this morning, because I was like, Maybe I was just in a bad mood when it came out. So I tried to be more objective about it. And here's the thing: It's a fine Taylor Swift song. It has absolutely nothing to do with Fall Out Boy and Patrick continues to sound absolutely unrecognizable on it and I continue to hate it for that reason hahahaha. And it's extra-sad to me because it kind of made me over Taylor Swift, which is too bad, because I loved Taylor Swift, and I should be like, "Oh, it's just one song, whatever." But, I'm sorry, it's obnoxious to me to say you're doing a song with Fall Out Boy and then make Patrick Stump sound like that. Like, that is just insulting, I've got to be honest. Just don't do the song with Fall Out Boy. That would have been fine. And the song has drums and guitars, but they are not played by Andy Hurley or Joe Trohman, so honestly, what even was the point???? I always wanted a Taylor Swift / FOB thing because she says she loves Pete Wentz's lyrics, so that's what I wanted: an actual collaboration. What I got instead was whatever that nonsense was, where Patrick had to sing lines with a straight face that were like, "I want you now," or whatever, and I was like, This from the person who admires Pete Wentz's lyrics?????
I don't blame her for it entirely, I think the production on the song is awful. The way Patrick is drowned out in the production is just atrocious. Even when he finally lets his voice loose a little tiny bit at the very end, he's so far in the background, dialed down so much underneath her, that you wouldn't even notice him if you weren't listening very hard for him (which I was). But at the same time, I feel like she does that sometimes to her collaborators, that Lana Del Rey is almost nonexistent on the original version of Snow on the Beach and Chris Stapleton is nowhere to be found on I Bet You Think About Me. But neither of those artists are my fave, so it bothered me less. But once it happened to Patrick and I was thinking about it, it made me think less about Taylor Swift, and then that annoyed me extra, because I used to really like her, and now I just feel...annoyed lol.
So I was thinking about this whole thing and I was like, There's a lesson in this, too, and the lesson is to be careful what you wish for. But then again, not so much, because I also wished for a new Fall Out Boy album and that turned out great. So I think the lesson really is:
Appreciate the things you love when they come around. Fall Out Boy released a new album and had an incredible year and I had a blast with all of it, and I am really, really appreciative of that. It could have not been the way it was for me, but it was perfect. It was literally perfect. I feel so lucky, so fortunate, and so grateful, and that's really what I'm taking out of 2023. And, in a way, having this one moment in the Fall Out Boy year that I hated highlights how extraordinary the rest of the year was. That contrast is useful and instructive. Luckily, I hated one song. But I loved every other moment, and I really noticed it. What a year.
And that's it, that's my final word on "Electric Touch" lol

Very preliminary and speculatory writing of Midnights timeline
Disclaimer: All the exact dates are based on tracking Taylor's private jets, which is a controversial activity (to say the least). Those are sourced from @youareinlovees' detailed masterposts.
Aaron Dessner confirmed that High Infidelity and Would've, Could've, Should've were written and recorded during Grammys week in March 2021. Since Taylor was in LA between March 7th and March 15th only, we can safely assume that those songs were written within that period.
The Great War and Hits Different were probably written before Jack Antonoff became the main co-writer of Midnights, because (according to Dessner in the podcast above) that signified a change in concept, but they probably also weren't written in March 2021 since Dessner mentioned them separately.
According to Taylor, most Taylor/Antonoff co-writes were written in New York, when JA and Jack's fiance were filming in Panama. This means they were written between November 22nd, when Taylor flew back from Panama to New York, and December 16th, when Taylor flew to Panama.
According to Rolling Stone, Lavender Haze and Glitch came out of a session where Jack Antonoff, Sounwave, Sam Dew and Zoe Kravitz worked on Zoe's debut album. This was before Jack started working on Midnights (so before November 2021), but also Jack only sent those tracks (demos?) a few months later, which might put the date around late 2021/early 2022.
Also in the same article, Karma was a "last-minute Hail Mary"-- wouldn't be surprised if it was the last song to be written on the album.
Sweet Nothing mentions a trip to Ireland "last July", i.e. July 2021, which probably implies the song was written in 2022. Additionally, on 19 April 2022, JA did an interview where he mentioned he didn't intend to write any more songs under a pseudonym, which either means 1. he signed an NDA or 2. he had already written Sweet Nothing at this point. For wishful thinking purposes I will assume the latter.
Snow On The Beach, which was co-written with Lana Del Rey, was finished by 4 April 2022, as on that day Lana posted this photo on her Instagram, a colourized version of which was later included in this Instagram post.
Now on to the solo writes: Vigilante Shit is a mystery. It mentions Scooter Braun's ex-wife so that puts it after July 2021, but that's it. Maybe she saw the news of Scooter getting a divorce and cackled manically? (also I don't think the FBI line points to anything concrete-- more of a revenge fantasy than anything IMO)
Bigger Than The Whole Sky is also a mystery, but if you believe that it's about Claire Winter then that would place it after March 2022.
You're Losing Me... um... I really don't know? I think there is a possibility it was written along with most of Midnights in that Nov-Dec 2021 session, especially since JA was in a different country then, but it also could have literally been written last month and we would be none the wiser. Here I'm going to give Taylor the benefit of the doubt. Also Hits Different is a breakup anthem but we don't talk about that...
Midnights was most likely finished by May at the latest, when she quoted a lyric from Labyrinth in her NYU speech and may or may not have teased the name of the album in this Instagram post.
To conclude:
7-15 March 2021: High Infidelity, Would've, Could've, Should've
March-November 2021: The Great War, Hits Different, Vigilante Shit
22 Nov-16 Dec 2021: Maroon, Anti-Hero, You're On Your Own, Kid, Midnight Rain, Question...?, Bejeweled, Labyrinth, Mastermind, Paris, Dear Reader, You're Losing Me
Late 2021-Early 2022: Lavender Haze, Glitch
2022 (before May): Bigger Than The Whole Sky, Snow On The Beach, Sweet Nothing, Karma
Feel free to comment if you think I've missed something important or got something wrong, though I might not respond immediately (busy week coming up).

@cleoselene tagged me several days ago to share 9 of my favorite albums! sorry it took me so long to respond but I did still want to make the post!
I've been bad lately about listening to full albums as opposed to individual songs but i'm trying to be better about this because i think listening to full albums is a better way to find new artists. anyway, in no particular order:
matchbox twenty: yourself or someone like you - i think i am perhaps a little young to love matchbox twenty as much as i do (this album came out when i was 4 years old LOL) but they were very much a soundtrack to my growing up. it was actually hard for me to choose between this album and mad season, but ultimately i thought you just can't go wrong with the album that features "real world", "3AM", and "push", just to name a few. (and hey, by the way, not to be that guy, but i loved "push" long before ryan gosling ever touched it!)
taylor swift: red - i chose the original album art to post here rather than the new version because RED has been my favorite album of hers ever since it came out in 2012. i have vivid memories of being a 20-year-old film student listening to the album on the train i took to get to school and thinking wow, this album really tells a story from beginning to end!
sara bareilles: the blessed unrest - this was another hard one because i wanted to choose just one album per artists and it was a tough choice between the blessed unrest and kaleidoscope heart. ultimately went with this one because of songs like "chasing the sun" and "december." sara bareilles has always (at least in her first 3 albums) conveyed a sense of unrest and uncertainty that i've found both relatable and comforting and i think in this album she finds her stability, or at least a hope that she can find it.
maisie peters: the good witch - idk what i can say about this one that others haven't already said - i think it's the newest album on my list, certainly, but it's also just, like, the ultimate breakup album. and the way maisie frames her songwriting as a way for her to take control of her own narrative is very interesting to me and very taylor swiftian.
rob thomas: cradlesong - kind of cheating here to choose a rob thomas album when he's the lead singer of matchbox twenty but i feel i cannot ignore him because he, too, was the soundtrack of my high school years. i had an obsession in 2009 that i cannot explain nor do i apologize for.
halsey: badlands - my least favorite thing about halsey is she put out this, the perfect album, on her first try and everything else has left me disappointed. i'm heading straight for the castle. they wanna make me their queen. it cannot be topped.
fun.: aim and ignite - fun. is just the perfect band for me and every day i am sad that they're not making music anymore
noah kahan: stick season - this album is very sad and heavy, and a lot of the songs sound quite similar, which are two things that are hard for me to get past when listening to music, but ultimately this album is too good to pass up. somehow makes you horribly homesick at the same time it makes you want to run screaming from your hometown and never look back.
of monsters and men: my head is an animal - i think a lot of my taste in music can be traced back to the era of of monsters and men and mumford and sons and the like. it's the thread that leads me to noah kahan now. my head is an animal is almost a no-skip album if we're being honest.

Not am I only feeling very critical towards Taylor Swift due to her choice in Guy She's Dating right now and the implications about where her morals REALLY lie and questioning now how much of her activism has been for publicity but also what the fuck is she doing with all this marketing nonsense happening.
The exclusive CD just for "You're Losing Me" when her show tickets are so hard to come by for many folks, the Karma feat. Ice Spice collab is weirdly put together. Rap isn't my favorite music but even I am aware that Ice Spice is VERY talented yet the song kinda??? Fails to play into her strengths??? Also since Taylor recently released Karma as a single you'd think she'd actually wait until the Ice Spice version was ready and release THAT version as a single. Then of course there's the mess of He Who I Am Not Gonna Name and his garbage plus his beef with Ice Spice then the timing of this release...doesn't look good. Now I'm still feeling inclined to think this collab has probably been in the works for a little while at least since I can only imagine the legal side of things takes some time. But at the same time the poorer quality (in my opinion) of Ice Spice's parts does contribute to it feeling a little rushed. Seriously I don't hate the idea of this collab at all but it really feels like they just tried to shove Ice Spice in there instead of naturally making room for her.
And furthermore, I just kinda personally despise "Feat. MORE Lana Del Rey" The song sounds great. If rumor is to be believed this was how the song was supposed to turn out but Lana didn't know what part she was supposed to sing?? So it was submitted as the original version??? And Taylor just left it??? Instead of reaching out and saying hey actually let's rework this??? Like girl you have sooo much money you can easily get back in that recording studio wtf. I do actually like how the original Snow on the Beach but at the same time I'm so confused as to why it was allowed to just go forward if this newer version was supposed to be the original version. It feels like either the original SOTB was never supposed to be a duet only a feature and it was overly marketed as a duet or...Taylor and/or her label really not paying attention. Don't like either of those. So, to rerecord what should have already existed in the first place to sell a whole priced album again for one new song (which wasn't a new song since apparently it was on physical additions of Midnights), one collab that needed more time in the oven, and now the "real" version of an existing song stupidly called "feat. MORE Lana del Rey"...Seriously you guys couldn't have extended the music a bit and called it "extended edition" or something. For some reason just the way it's titled and knowing the supposed background of the song has me scratching my head and feeling a little rubbed the wrong way.
I don't know if I'm explaining this coherently at all but the whole situation feels a lot like a mess, a bit of a scam, and a lot like a PR move. Feels to me like Taylor's got a lot of yes men in her corner at the moment. And I'm sure she's plenty powerful enough to go "actually I'm still gonna do what I want" even if there are people telling her no. But really feels like she's flying in so many chaotic and messy directions at once with no one telling her she should slow it down, reign it in and think about this a little more. She's very smart and very talented yes, I am still a fan of hers! I've been a fan since 2006! But not gonna lie! I feel deceived and betrayed by her thanks to her being with MH and a lot of her business decisions lately are very confusing. Don't even get me started on how CHEAP the VIP boxes and a lot of this tour merch is turning out to be despite how expensive it all is.
Taylor, can I ask YOU a question. What the fuck.

̷𖤐֪ elia martell x taylor swift albums
— Red (Taylor's Version) my favorite <3
— the lyrics picked were the ones that made me think of her/her relationships/her plot.
︵࣪⏜ꪻ𖡼̸֢֢࣪᭡࿔︵࣪
State Of Grace: "Love is a ruthless game";
Red: "Memorizing him was as easy as knowing all the words to your old favorite song, fighting with him was like trying to solve a crossword and realizing there's no right answer";
Treacherous: "This hope is treacherous, this daydream is dangerous";
I Knew You Were Trouble: "And the saddest fear comes creeping in, that you never loved me or her, or anyone, or anything";
All Too Well: "I'd like to be my old self again but I'm still trying to find it";
22: "End up dreaming instead of sleeping";
I Almost Do: "I bet you're sittin' in your chair by the window, looking out at the city and I hope sometimes you wonder about me";
We Are Never Getting Back Together: "I used to think that we were forever ever, and I used to say never say never";
Stay Stay Stay: "And I'll be loving you for quite some time";
The Last Time: all of it | "This is the last time I'm asking you this: put my name at the top of your list. This is the last time I'm asking you why you break my heart in the blink of an eye";
Holy Ground: "And the story's got dust on every page";
Sad Beautiful Tragic: "Distance, timing, breakdown, fighting; silence, the train runs off its tracks. Kiss me, try to fix it, could you just try to listen? Hang up, give up, and for the life of us we can't get back." but also every other lyric
The Lucky One: "And they tell you that you're lucky, but you're so confused, 'cause you don't feel pretty, you just feel used";
Everything Has Changed: "All I know is pouring rain and everything has changed";
Starlight: "Look at you, worrying too much about things you can't change";
Begin Again: grrm would cut off his arm before giving her peace, that's not her song;
The Moment I knew (you can find me eating glass in a corner): "What do you say when tears are streaming down your face in front of everyone you know? And what do you do when the one who means the most to you is the one who didn't show?"
Come Back... Be Here: "The delicate beginning rush, the feeling you can know so much without knowing anything at all, and now that I can put this down. If I had known what I know now, I never would've played so nonchalant";
Girl At Home: that's R/L song (bad as the ship tbh)
Better Man: "I know I'm probably better off all alone than needing a man who could change his mind at any given minute";
Nothing New: "Criticize the way you fly, when you're soaring through the sky; shoot you down and then they sigh and say, 'She looks like she's been through it'" + "How can a person know everything at eighteen but nothing at twenty two?"
Babe: "We ain't getting through this one, babe";
Message In a Bottle: "But now you're so far away and I'm down, feeling like a face in the crowd";
I Bet You Think About Me: "Now you're out in the world, searching for your soul; scared not to be hip, scared to get old. Chasing make-believe status, last time you felt free was when none of that shit mattered 'cause you were with me." (omg rhaelia hii)
Run: "There's been this hole in my heart, this thing was a shot in the dark";
The Very First Night: "I wish I could fly, I'd pick you up and we'd go back in time";
All Too Well (10 Minute Version): "And I was thinking on the drive down 'Any time now, he’s gonna say it’s love'. You never called it what it was. 'Til we were dead and gone and buried, check the pulse and come back swearing it’s the same, after 3 months in the grave. And then you wondered where it went to as I reached for you but all I felt was shame and you held my lifeless frame".

Love Me Like You - Chapter 3: Mr. Perfectly Fine
Read Chapter 1: Breathe | Chapter 2: A Mess (Happy 4 U) | Chapter 4: Tequila
Tumblr media
😍pairing: Jake “Hangman” Seresin x F!Reader
💭summary: High school and college sweethearts. That’s what the two of you were. And that’s the keyword: were. What are you to do when you come face to face with the man that broke your heart three years ago?
⚠️warning: mentions of alcohol consumption

"Need a refill on your drink?" Bob asks.
You shake your head. "Just water please. The whiskey I've had has already done too much damage."
You hear him order you some fried and soft pretzels along with the water. "You don't have to talk. Just know that I'm here for you."
And so he was. Not once did Bob ever hit on you while he was still in town. Even when he went back to the Academy and was later deployed, he kept in touch with you.
Two years later, during one of his deployments in Lemoore, Bob invited you to stay with him for a visit. “You just started your 1 year sabbatical from work. Why not spend a few weeks here before you head to Scotland?”
“Are you sure you want me up there? Won’t your girl get jealous?” You ask teasingly.
He pretends to sigh exasperated at your teasing. “You know Jade loves you and she’s the one asking for you to come visit.”
“I love you both Robert. I’ll be there in a few days. I’ll overwhelm you both with snacks and souvenirs.”
As you packed your bags, you could help but wonder about Jake and how he was doing. It wasn’t long after you had run into him that Taylor Swift rereleased her Fearless album.
The moment you heard Mr. Perfectly Fine you couldn’t stop crying, especially when the lines “Cause I hear he's got his arm 'round a brand-new girl… I've been pickin' up my heart, he's been pickin' up her” hit a little too close to home.
You shake your head to clear your thoughts and finish packing before driving up to Lemoore.
Tumblr media
While Bob and Jade were out shopping, you decided to explore the bookstore near the hotel you were staying at. You’re so focused on reading the blurbs of the latest fantasy books that you don’t hear someone approaching you until they touch your shoulder.
Startled, you turn to see her. Jake’s girlfriend. Evelyn. “Oh… Uhm hi.”
“Hi,” she smiles shyly. “You probably don’t remember me but we met briefly a couple years ago.”
You’re still in shock but you nod letting her know go continue.
“Your uhm… your karaoke performance… It was Jake, wasn't it?"
"I'm sorry what?" You ask in confusion.
“When you sung Holding out For a Hero… It was Jake that broke your heart right?” She asks softly.
“We… it was a mutual break up. We were done when you…” You feel your voice star to waver and tears fill your eyes in fear of being cornered.
“Hey hey. I know. Jake can be an idiot - I just wanted to say I’m sorry. The minute we got back to the Academy I kept asking him about his past and he would get very defensive when I would bring you up… I then put two and two together… so I left him.”
You nearly get whiplash as how fast you turn to look at her. “What? Why!?”
She laughs at your reaction. “Oh love. You’re the best. You’re offended that I left him…?”
“Well, you’re both a perfect match for each other. Similar interests and skills.”
“And that’s why we’d never fully work out. We’re female and male versions of each other… But you… He’s never stopped caring for you or loving you.”
You shake your head. “If that were true… he wouldn’t ghost me for two years.”
Evelyn offers you a hug which surprises you but you let her. “Come. Let’s get some books and bottles of wine and let’s talk some more.”
Tumblr media
After your wine and pizza fueled conversation with Evelyn, you developed a deep appreciation for her. With that appreciation, came friendship.
During your trip to Scotland, you constantly kept in touch with Bob, Jade, Evelyn, and a few other pilots they introduced you to.
To say you didn’t date any of the Scotsmen you met would be a lie. But there was just something missing. Despite how things ended, you kept comparing everything they did to how Jake would do things.
Jake. He would always be the love of your life and you knew that nobody would ever love you like he did.
Tumblr media
“Come back! Bob got called to Top Gun and we’re going to drive him up to Miramar to celebrate with him!” Evelyn’s voice message made you laugh.
“I’m finishing packing and heading to the airport. I’ll be in San Diego as soon as I can! Once I land I’ll text you both!” You reply before running out to get a cab to the airport.
You knew Bob was very good and his job as a WSO, but you also knew Jake was a great pilot. You wondered what would be the chances of him also getting called to Top Gun.
Little did you know that said pilot would be reintroduced into your life after two years.

hello! welcome back to my FMA Characters as Taylor Swift albums!!! previous albums are here:
debut, fearless (taylor’s version), speak now (taylor’s version), RED (taylor’s version), 1989 (taylor’s version)
now, let’s talk about the old taylor- oh no, she can’t come to the phone right now. why? oh… CAUSE SHES DEAD:
𝔯𝔢𝔭𝔲𝔱𝔞𝔱𝔦𝔬𝔫
Edward Elric
- time for THE comeback album bitches
- taylor has described this album as her most metal album (she was going through it and LYING), but while i disagree with that regard i still think there is something to that idea. taylor initially described it as finding love in the darkest of times, which is true. the album focuses more on the idea and fears of a relationship based on past loves and her world as a whole. and while that relationship is no longer happening, the message of the album still holds true.
- "my world is uninhabitable for most, no one can stay. but you're staying?"
- there is though, still a hint of venom or anger at times in the album. mainly towards the media or certain people who tried to destroy her career by lying through there teeth and putting her through years of media abuse, BUT WERE NOT HERE FOR THAT RANT BY KELLY SO ILL SHUT UP, but it's also anger towards her circumstances about the life she had chosen and didn't fully realize what she was getting into
- as when she signed on to be a country singer at 16 being a celebrity was a very different experience and meaning than our current idea of it as social media was no where near as prevalent
- it's those ideas why i think reputation is ed.
- ed is someone who made a decision years ago and is now forever facing the consequences and blaming himself not only for it but all the aftershocks it's caused in the beobles he's loves lives
- and here's to my real friends, they don't care about the HE SAID SHE SAID! and here's to my baaaaaaby, HE AINT READING WHAT THEY CALL ME LATELY! and here's to my mammmmma, HAD TO LISTEN TO ALL THIS DRAMA! *the other shoe drops*
- that's not even metaphorical SHE ACTUALLY THROWS A SHOE ON THE GROUND AT THAT POINT. LIKE SHE IS EMPHASIZING HOW THE STRAIN IT PUT ON HER AND HER FAMILY + WHILE HER MOTHER WAS DEALING WITH HER CANCER WAS ONE OF THE FINAL STRAWS FOR HER!!!!!!)
- i'm sorry, i'm not, i just fucking love this song
- and though the people in his life don't blame him, as neither do the ones in taylor's that we can tell through her songs, he knows he doesn't make it easier to know it be around him. (even before he discovers the conspiracy). he is angry and upset about what has happened to him but also knows that he got himself into this situation. so while he doesn't necessarily fight it he is annoyed by it.
- he also feels very indebted to making things right and is going out of his way to help and save everyone which is a lot for anyone to take on ESPECIALLY at his young age, which is something that has been seen in taylor's past albums and echos of defeat in this one
- i think in general edward deserves a LWYMMD moment as only hot people get those and ed's been through enough shit in life he deserves it.
- also the love songs on this album feel very shocked and surprised, blushing and unable to speak. which is how we often see ed reacting to winry (cause he's 14 and has a crush on a girl ohhhhhhhhhhhh).
- they're unsure and exciting, the narrator doesn't know how to deal with it. it goes from being excited to being upset and confused to admitting guilt over situations but also not regretting it as it freed them.
- the love songs are all about finding a love that's new and exciting a real. not just the idea of love to go off of but a real love between two people. which is what edwin can be seen with as childhood friends to lovers. as both are almost blindsided by their feelings and even propose to each other in the most awkward way imaginable and both get flustered.

i love taylor swift since i was little, which is why it pains me to say this but the most recent albums (ttpd n midnights) feel like money grabs, like i wishe she would've take more time with it and think it through instead of just using phrases that are now popularized then putting it in a song
her album doesnt feel authentic to me anymore... some of the songs are kinda good. but (to me) after evermore she just stops caring about her craft.
although knowing that Taylor cares so much about sales (ex. her doing a lot of versions of one song with barely anything added to it) i mean get that bag girl! and it shouldn't be that surprising :/ since the beginning of her career (ex. she needs to always have no.1s and must get grammys each album/year or she'll be devastated n cry. overachiever things 😋 shes so me)
i really wish she take her time with the albums she put out
hiii dear, yea ty for sharing your opinions <3 i totally agree w you i wish she took more time with ttpd and maybe condensed it more so it wasn't...so long and i feel like some of the songs are just "filler" songs?? like she just came up w a bunch of random lyrics and was like, ok well i need to put these in a song, so she just cut copy pasted from her notes app and then jack antanoff put a beat behind it n they called it a day LOL. the only songs on ttpd i enjoyed were the ones that actually had a cohesive story that was being told (ex loml, but daddy i love him, the black dog, clara bow, peter, a few others i can't think of but most of them were in the second half). i saw someone say on tiktok that she needs to let her lyrics breathe a little bit, and i agree w that and also what you said ab using popularized phrases n stuff. like i wish she would just...write sometimes w/out having sort of weirdly cryptic ways of putting things? it's okay to have a simple lyric if it comes off the way you want it to? hahaha
as for whether or not it's a cashgrab, possibly. i mean i noticed this w midnights too, but her advertising team goes CRAZYY w repping her new albums so a lot of it does feel very manufactured. i still think her songwriting is genius and she's an amazing lyricist, but idk yeah i think it's just she needs to spend more time on her albums and she should be ok w trashing songs if they don't work LOOOL quality over quantity always imo in any EP release. also lowkey i think jackie boy gotta go...his production is soooo fucking boring to me idk. he has prod for a lot of amazing tswift classics n im grateful to him for that but i'm so tired of his production at this point. she needs some new. i don't feel the same of aaron dessner though. i will never get tired of aaron's tracks, he never fails her imo. but also yea haha she's def an overachiever

1, 2?
Unironically I knew you would ask me the two best questions on this whole damn list, thank you Izzy for being the GOAT.
Song of the year? God what songs even came out this year. I don't think this year was a year where new music happened for me. (One of the biggest hits this year was... Fast Car. Do you remember that??? What???) I'm a little tempted to say Fast Car, but that's cheating on Ms. Tracy Chapman, who is unimpeachably the best version of the song (And wouldn't it kind of suck if the song of the year was just. An inarguably well done but ultimately less meaningful rendition of a song from like 45 years ago) If I can pick songs that I encountered this year but didn't come out this year, I could go on for a while. Lonely by Jamila Woods, All My Girls Like To Fight by Hope Tala, Get Down by Woozy. I think Van Gogh by Mette is great but not the song of the year for me, certainly. Rush by Troye Sivvy? It's more honest but doesn't feel right to me totally. Is It New Years Yet has new toy syndrome, AND it's a holiday song, AND it's a Sabrina Carpenter song that complains about overplayed music. Like. Self aware much? And also means it can kick rocks because that is NOT song of the year material. But I like music with a groovy influence, I'm a little corny, and I can't lie about this kinda thing. I categorically refuse to put Build a Boat on my top anything list, regardless of Spotify telling lies about my listening habits. (This is me lying about this kinda thing). I don't want to repeat a year in review song, either, which kinda makes this harder. I guess I gotta give it to You Wish by Flyana Boss, because it's the only song that's not 1. on my year end list, or 2. a song that had a reservation/caveat/well, actually attached to it.
Album of the year? My two top albums of this year were Something To Give Each Other and Jaguar II, but I have to give it up to Victoria Monet honestly- I didn't take to a piece of music this fast since when I saw Young Empires open for Reptar and fell in love on the first song of the set. I listened to Smoke and I was hooked- maybe it's the drug culture references but joyful and openly honest, maybe it's the slick production and variety on the album, maybe it's that it's not afraid to be goofy as hell ("I'm so deep in my bag, like a grandma with a peppermint" is quite possibly an all timer goofy lyric that still hits the right timber for the braggadocio it's placed as in the song, "It's a bisexual blunt it can go both ways" is just. so fuckin stupid, I love it.), maybe it's the features (Lucky Daye? EARTH WIND AND FIRE???), maybe it's the touch of old hollywood glamour at the end and the clear love of motown sensibilities juxtaposed with her talking about her 4K titties. I don't know man, it just rewired my brain but in a good way. More than that, Victoria made me cognizant of her in the stuff I already liked. Like. She has writing credits/backing vocal credits for Ariana Grande. I CAN HEAR HER IN THE SONGS SHE HELPED WRITE. She's goofy and sexy and has some fun production preferences, and I can hear her sometimes now even when she's composing/producing for other artist. I haven't been able to peg a pop writer this hard since good ol' jackie, and that's because he's everywhere and also in like 3 solo projects and also Taylor Swift's silver bullet. But like I can directly point to how much she worked on Thank You Next and the all time greatest Ariana album, Dangerous Woman. She helped write Body Count, Sin City, On The Way... all songs I liked by other artists, but didn't realize who, you know, helped make. This is not to say I didn't love Troye Sivan this year- and both these artists made my year end retrospective. I really dig Troye's album (Though I run into the issue I have with a lot of albums where I like but don't love the second half of it, which is why Victoria took the W.). Give the songs In My Room or What's The Time Where You Are a listen for sure. It's just. so hard to find an album you unironically vibed with. Unashamedly and openly. I honestly don't care if anyone else likes this album, because I loved it. I'll stream it enough for all of us, a bitch might buy it on vinyl Anyways sorry for running on so long, it's Jaguar II by Victoria Monet, because if we have to say Goodbye, let's make it a Good Bye is something I want to live by now that I've heard it.

Sam's Best Albums of 2023
Since I'm starting this blog in early 2024 I thought it'd be nice to give a little shoutout to my favorite albums of 2023. I felt like I didn't listen to as many new albums as I would have liked to but I thought this would be a fun way to start :)
5.) Speak Now (Taylor's Version) - Taylor Swift
Tumblr media
I'll admit it feels a bit cheap adding a re-recording to this list but given that it was my first time listening to the full album I decided to include it. This album feels fun to listen to despite some of the heartbreaking lyrics which really exemplifies the age that Swift originally wrote the album (18-20). Although I've admittedly never been the biggest Taylor Swift fan I think there's something special about her story telling and emotions that she put in her lyrics that I found really enjoyable on this album. Some of my favorite songs from the record are Better Than Revenge, Speak Now, and Innocent.
4.) PORTALS - Melanie Martinez
Tumblr media
I've never been super into Melanie Martinez but I found myself enjoying this album a lot when it came out. I find the topic of the album being about death and rebirth being interesting especially with mystical symbols throughout the album. I think that this album was a fun evolution for Martinez after her first two albums. My favorite songs from this album are THE CONTORTIONIST, EVIL, and BATTLE OF THE LARNYX.
3.) The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We - Mitski
Tumblr media
The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We is a gorgeous album from Mitski. I've been following her for a long time now this album has felt like a big change in her lyricism. To me this switch of focusing on how we should love and appreciate the people around us while we have them even if it hurts us in the end hit hard this year and made the album all the more enjoyable for it. My favorite songs from this album are I'm Your Man, I Don't Like My Mind, and Heaven.
2.) the record - boygenius
Tumblr media
Despite me finding this album so late into the year I fell in love with it. So many of these songs started hitting close to home in a way where I found myself singing them whenever I got the chance. The perspective of love and relationships in this album beautifully written in each perspective that is given and I still find myself repeating many of these songs on my drives home. My favorites from this album are Letter To An Old Poet, Not Strong Enough, and Cool About It.
1.) Till' Death Was Never Enough - VIOLENT VIRA
Tumblr media
In 2023 I was obsessed with VIOLENT VIRA and after releasing her first EP I found myself listening even more. The way that she writes about heartbreak and loss is so raw and the story telling, especially in Waiting outside a Hospital cuts deep. I'm super excited to be seeing her in concert later this year and screaming along to the lyrics I've grown to love. My favorite songs from the album are Amphetamines (use me), Waiting outside a Hospital, and Collar of Truth.

if you could remove five songs from 1989 and replace them with the vault tracks, what would they be and why?
i'm gonna do this but WITHOUT suburban legends because no 1989 song deserves to be replaced by that mess, sorrrry (i swear im not a hater i just think it's the worst song on the album)
also while i'm here i reordered the whole album hahahha
okayyy so here's my ideal version of 1989 (vaults are underlined)
new romantics - i think this is the ideal album opener, just because wtny isn’t really a well loved song when you take it out of the context of it being the first track of 1989 (even though i like it personally, its on the bottom half of mine and most peoples 1989 rankings) but new romantics still works bc it sounds like a song of new(romantic) beginnings, and its kinda the thesis statement of 1989,, about how the album is supposed to be super free and light hearted (also the intro of this song is so iconic and its perfect as a track 1)
blank space - im kinda trying to do this album somewhat chronologically, but also im trying to get the themes and production to flow,, blank space is a perfect track 2 bc it still sounds like a city track like new romantics, but it also sounds equally beach-y, and those are the 2 aesthetic elements of 1989 so its a good joint album intro. ALSO blank space gives u a good idea of how Taylor was seen at the time, as a dramatic serial-dater or whatever..,,, which leads me into track 4…
“slut!” - like i was saying,, blank space is about how she’s seen, and slut touches on the same topic of being slut shamed, but this time its about what SHE actually feels, and it flips it into being like,, its worth it bc i met this really cool guy aka:
(harry) style(s) - and this is the first sense of like. problems in the album, as in its pretty clear from this song that the mysterious guy she’s dating is not someone that she’s gonna last with,, also it gets us back into the city vibes smoothly bc the rerecord of this song has added sparkles which is reminiscent of the beach songs, but of course style overall is a city song so it flows well
wonderland - this is a perfect track 5 bc its a super emotional song that details the relationship + the breakdown of it, also its a BOP (y’all need to appreciate wonderland more)
out of the woods -🚨 BOP BOP BOP BOP BOP BOP🚨and like most of this albums its a lyrically sad bop and it fits with wonderland and explains the anxiety further
i know places - same purpose as ootw, it explains why the relationship was doomed from the start as its 2 very high profile people
say don’t go - fits chronologically, and talks abt how he didn’t love him back, and all he needed to do was not go,, (as in all he had to do was stay if u know what i mean)
this love - this love came back to me woahohoh (i think this is where it fits chronologically? where mr lover man comes back)
all you had to do was stay - she decided its too late to get back together tho RIP HAHA
now that we don’t talk - post break up realisations, lhh isn’t that amazing
wildest dreams - back to the beach rq, with a side of post-breakup mystique and i bet you think about me energy
clean - still keeping it beach-y, and now she’s clean from both the relationship, and the album booklet secret message is ‘she lost him, but she found herself, and somehow that was everything’ which is nice bc self love,, and she’s moved on , ALSO LINKS BACK TO THE ALBUM THEME OF FINDING URSELF
shake it off - ngl i put this here bc i think going from the emotional song clean to SHAKE IT OFF is funny, and every ts album needs a jumpscare at some point. but honestly this kinda fits thematically, because its talking about her persona like in blank space, but this time instead of leaning into it she’s shaking it offff and she’s clean (^) from the expectations to be what other people want or expect her to be. also its a fun song and brings up the energy for the home stretch of this longgggggg album
is it over now? - is it ever really over????????? NO (also i would consider this song to be a city and beach song because the AUUU HAAAAAAAAAA parts remind me of seagulls) alsooo if u loop it the ending of this song leads nicely into the intro of new romantics
deluxe edition :
16. you are in love - the deluxe is my excuse to put my QUEEEN you are in love on here bc it didnt fit anywhere
ik u probably intended for me to replace songs that have similar themes with their corresponding vault but theres so many songs that i just cant bear to take off😭 but heres the parallels anyway: blank space / slut, all you had to do was stay / say don't go, style / suburban legends, wildest dreams / is it over now?(this is a reach), now that we don't talk / idkkkk i cant really think of an equivalent

I might have gone a little nuts at Amazon this month but THAT'S OKAY, IT'S MY BIRTHDAY ON THE 14TH, THESE ARE TREATS FOR ME.
Actually it's mostly stuff for the house. I'm redecorating my living room and got some stuff we just NEED for that purpose and for general house use. Like we've never had many cups so I ordered a bunch of decent sized plastic cups. I got a stepladder to help with redecorating, and some more hanger hooks. I got 12x12 frames to put up record inserts/sleeves that are artistically appealing. Going to put a section of the wall devoted to family and dog pics, the rest is records. Aside from my Rothko and my framed Leighton Meester + Check in the Dark Poster. but I probably pulled 45 framed pics off the all (I told you I went maximalist XD)
also ordered a couple of surge protectors and some new fairy lights for the living room. For the longest time we lived on fairy light only illumination and it was pleasant, but our light set died. I got 66 feet and it can change color by remote. Hopefully it's enough, but it was only like 7 dollars so if I need to order another 66 feet that's no big.
and really, THIS one is happy birthday to me: I ordered the special limited edition clear version of VNV Nation's Empires. I still need Automatic, Noire, and Transnational on vinyl to round out all their available albums, and I *do* want them all but most of them are shipping from Europe which is EXPENSIVE. This one is from the UK but for some reason only charging 7 pounds for shipping, so it'll probably take 10000 years lol. Or maybe it's just their version of media mail and that's why it's so cheap? Media mail is dope man, as a vinyl collector I double plus love it.
I think the roommates are probably getting me COWBOY CARTER on vinyl for my birthday >_> I strongly hinted to them that the blue vinyl would be a GR8 birthday gift hahah
also my mom owes me some money so I am not BROKE broke. If they don't get it for me I can afford to order it. And I already paid for TTPD (The Black Dog version) on vinyl so that's covered. I wanna get it on CD too, and probably the same for TTPD so I can listen to them in my car. It's been my tradition since I became a fan of Taylor's to buy the CD for my car but that was before I became a vinyl collector (literally my first ever vinyl was a signed copy of Midnights that a friend sweetly bought for me, thus the addiction started) so I'm not sure. I don't like buying things twice. We'll see how much I love TTPD? I think COWBOY CARTER is worth buying twice, I love it that much. TTPD might make me feel the same way, but either way, i wouldn't get the same version? Like I got Black Dog for Vinyl, I would get one of the other variants for CD. Maybe I'll wait to see which of the songs I like best and order accordingly.
also, Beth Gibbons' first solo album in May T___T she is probably my favorite living female vocalist (no one can touch the late great Whitney). She's been working on this album more than a decade I know it's going to be SO good

I am once again reminded why I'm not in Taylor Swift's fandom. Apparently you need to like every piece of music that woman puts out. God forbid you think the production of the first half of 1989 is close to shit because you are knowledgeable enough about music to be able to notice the things that are made worse instead of made to enhance the track. God forbid you listen to the OG versions of some songs like most of the mainstream will anyway, because the old man might get 0.0001 cent from a stream (that she also still gets money from in royalties, otherwise I would've just stolen that version if only the old man got money from it).
I feel bad for preferring some OG versions of songs based on the whole ownership thing, but am I supposed to feel guilty that a billionaire isn't getting the one cent that will accumulate over my lifetime from streaming these songs? They could've simply upgraded the production...like a lot. That was a possibility. They had the ability to notice how much the OG was lacking range in the low tones of the production and could've made it sound more immersive. Her voice certainly isn't the problem on the new tracks, it's always the damn production for me. The second half of the album even gets it right for me, but there are too many legendary songs that she needed to enhance instead of whatever she was trying to do with her producer.
In no other fandom do you get bullied this much for disliking a handful of songs for their lack of good production (that the artist could afford) by the people that have clearly never learned anything about producing and mixing. It's not hard to admit that some of these sound flatter than the OG already sounded (and the OG definitely also sounds flat by the way, but to a point where you can look past it) and that some of these sound off due to different soundeffects/instruments used to emulate a part of the original song.
How dare some of the fans discuss this dilemma in public where it hurts the feelings of people that'll blindly love everything that woman puts out without discourse about it. Even though I'm sure she's more than okay with people discussing her music together. I'll keep listening to the OG tracks I like better and praying her production team won't ruin some Rep songs the same way.
Controversial stance I guess. Swifties stay being the reason why people don't get into the good music of Taylor.
