i have this entire fleshed out shy reader lore for i guess a hypothetical universe where shy reader dated jj and/or pope first but eventually they broke up because of the whole season one treasure plotline not even because of a lack of love but mostly just her feeling neglected and alone. right at the end of all of that is when she would meet rafe just when he’s in that season two craziness/spiral and they become so insanely codependent and just around there somewhere when the pogues hate rafe even more they find out he’s dating shy reader and it’s just a whole other layer. so basically obx writers let me into the room.

I can't get over every little thing spencer reid does. like his little mannerisms are EVERYTHING TO ME. The way he talks with his hands, how he presses his middle finger to his thumb and rubs them together sometimes or moves it as if he's writing when talking, the way he scrunches his face up sometimes, the way he wrings his hands at all really like just playing with the fingers of his other hand or sometimes I've seen him just press his knuckles together and rub them together, the thin lipped pressed together smile he does as he awkwardly waves to new people he's being introduced to, when his hair is a long enough length and he tucks it behind his ears all the time. I think he does both sides sometimes and and and UGHHHHH I LOVE HIM

so for some context they're about 12 or 13 during this.

and Juno has some- issues about people mentioning her mom, especially during this period of her life

also- it gets a tad violent.

They were hanging out in front of the Chateau, tossing rocks gracelessly across the grass.  Ten points if you got it in the water, twenty if you knocked over one of their leftover pop cans. It was the only way they could manage to pass the time. With the dark clouds rolling in, Big John had forbidden them from going in the water, and because he was Big John, they listened.

JJ and John B were chatting idly, Juno was sulking–she sulked a lot lately, or so everyone liked telling her. But so what? She didn’t care what everyone thought. 

JJ was winding up to toss his rock, his arm cocked above his head, when he made the mistake of looking at her. 

“Hey, J- you think your mom–” 

He hadn’t even managed to finish his sentence when her fist connected with his nose. There was a crunch, a shout–from where she wasn’t sure–and then JJ was flat on the ground. Juno pounced on him, wrestling him into the dirt, he wrestled back just as fiercely, elbowing her and kicking her in the shins. Someone shouted again, John B probably. JJ’s foot collided with her ribs, digging into her skin, and she rolled off him, the wind knocked out of her. 

Juno stared up at the sky, the clouds hung heavy. A hurricane was coming. John B’s mop of hair cut into her field of vision. She scowled up at him, and he scuffled backwards as she pushed herself up off the ground.

JJ stared at her, eyes wide, blood dripping down his chin–from his newly crooked nose or split lip she couldn’t tell. He sniffed, then cringed in pain. 

“Sorry.” She was surprised to find she meant it.

“S’okay, J. I should’ve stopped– should’ve known better.” He paused, his face all screwed up, like the words stuck in his throat caused him physical pain. She tapped the toe of her shoe against his shin, whether it was a warning or a prompt to continue she wasn’t sure. JJ looked down at his lap, blood still dripping down his chin. “Sorry.”

She held her hand out, her knuckles were smeared with his blood. He clasped his hand with hers, and she hauled him back up to his feet, the dirt and gravel crunched under their shoes. 

They were both bloody and dirty–and forgiven.

John B still made them apologize two more times each before he was satisfied all was forgiven, though.

it’s the nod of confirmation kie did before telling jj she loved him in ep 9.. like “yea i really do love this idiot” IT JUST MAKES ME SCREAM EVERY TIME 😭 like holy shit it’s real THEN HE SAYS IT BACK.. just UGH 😫😭😭

Please I was genuinely not expecting her to say it again and EVEN LESS FOR HIM TO SAY IT BACK. Like every time I think about that scene I feel myself losing it all over again

you know how sometimes siblings have such a large age gap that they have like nothin in common, really. like, say the younger one always wants the older one's attention n approval so they kinda follow around their older sibling like a puppy. the older sibling loves their younger sibling. like would do anything for them, but there's such a gap between them n their interests that while yes, they do get along, the older one doesn't care to hang out often. cus again there's a disconnect n the two of them care about vastly different things? idk how well ive articulated this but this is how i view jeid's relationship. it v much gives "my parents make me take my lil brother w me everywhere n it's kinda annoying so i tune him out but don't mind him; he means well n if u hurt him im gonna punch u in ur throat" like idk that's what ive always felt from them.
