I know you're not going to be willing to really listen since you came into this already antagonistic, but I can try to explain:

I don't know how to get across to people just how LGBTQ+ friendly this fandom is. Jkr sucks and we all know it. None of us like her. But she *barely* created these characters. Half of them are just afterthoughts in her world. The fandom fleshed them out and built them into real people. And in doing so, the fandom turned them into characters.

And this fandom plays with showing different perspectives on gender and sexuality at every turn. I've read trans-regulus. I've read trans-james. Sirius too. I have, in all honesty, probably read more marauders fanfiction that featured trans characters than I had read in all of the other fiction I've read in my life combined. This fandom does it so well too. JKR would HATE it, but she doesn't get a say so the fandom gets to keep doing it.

Same with different sexualities or gender identities. I have been *introduced* to identities I had never heard of before because I ran into them in marauders fanfiction. That's pretty cool!

Same with the idea of the characters races. I am well aware that JKR had racist undertones against (at minimum) Chinese, Korean (she gave cho chang a Korean name which was so far beyond lazy it becomes racist against a second group), and Indian. It was much more explicitly racist against Jews. I'm not denying or disputing that. But look at what the fandom has done. Look up "James Potter" fan art and scroll for 60 seconds, and I promise you'll run into many different hues of skin tone, cultural depictions, and appearances.

This fandom doesn't just dislike JKR's mindset, they actively work against it.

JKR may have built the structure of this story on crappy transphobic, racist foundation, but the fandom added the supports to build it into something much, much better.
