wake up babe new thought exercise just dropped! if worm characters became protagonists of slay the princess how would each of them shape said princess with their thought patterns?
this could be done with characters from any fandom really, but I came up with the idea from imagining taylor hebert reacting to being told that "there's a world ending threat in the basement over there can you please kill it thanks!" with absolutely no evidence to back it up.
girlie would be suspicious as hell about everything, from the situation to the narrator to the voice of the hero. but she wouldn't dip from this premise because she's taylor hebert (don't think I need to elaborate on that point).
she'd take the knife because better to have and not need and all, and would come face-to-face in that basement with a cynical manipulative bitch. the narrator's warning about the princess' scheming nature ironically enough ensured she'd be someone tay would never underestimate, since the blend of "pretty primadonna at the top of a hierarchy" and "prone to lying to get her way without a care for who gets hurt" obviously reminds her of emma.
the narrator is very happy that his protagonist refuses to trust the princess. the narrator is very unhappy that his protagonist believes the princess to be the most insidious kind of dangerous.
I think taylor would end up on the adversary route. she fully believes herself able to defeat the princess because tay knows she is ruthless and strong enough, but without her bugs or even armor her mortality is stark in her mind. so when she decides to kill the princess it ends up with both of them dead after an actual fight.
meanwhile lisa, and rachel, and a lot of characters probably, would end up on the stranger route by nopeing right the fuck outta the situation and continuing even after the narrator turns them back around towards the princess. lisa because she can tell it's making the narrator annoyed even as he tries to hide it, and rachel because she's plain stubborn. since you only need to turn around three times they wouldn't give up before going to the next chapter.
since the stranger is a railroaded path (the cheev you get from completing it literally references "the illusion of choice" lol) both of their following actions, while different, would still end up in the same place.
does anyone else have enough context for more interesting explorations of this concept? I'm caught up on the fact that pretty much every character from worm would take the blade, cause they come from a world where not carrying a weapon even if you don't plan to use it is a dumbass decision. and that cuts off half the paths available, admittedly making this less interesting.

So I was wandering back through the tags to read more of Primadonna Girl and look into Sabaku no Shinki, and I noticed that one bit where Shikako was pregnant and could FEEL the baby's interaction with her chakra--so ... do you think Shikako "cloning is easy" Nara pioneered some external womb seal-tech after that, so that under NO CIRCUMSTANCES would she EVER have to do that again?
This kind of touches on this post in which an anon asked about why I didn’t have Shikako and Gaara have biological kids with each other, but obviously less cringe-inducing. I think Shikako would make—or massively contribute to or, at the very least, consult the pioneers behind it—a seal/tech-based external womb not for her own benefit (because I do maintain SHE doesn’t necessarily want [more] children) but for someone else.
The first go to that comes to mind would be Risshuu Shingon and Saidai Nara (aka, Ritsu Shingon’s parents from the Sunshine Sidestories) who have, as you previously said and which I still find absolutely hilarious, “incompatible meatware” to have biological children of their own. We literally see their wedding in the side story so that they can build a stable domestic household for their daughter. But we also see how nervous Risshuu is about it and even Saidai, in his Nara way, given he wanted to get the wedding done IMMEDIATELY, because even though he was reassuring Risshuu the whole time, he must have also felt that if he didn’t seize the opportunity NOW, with the clan heirs being acting clan heads, then they may not be able to do it UNTIL the clan heirs ACTUALLY because clan heads — a decade or more, he said.
All that being said: I would think after some time of letting the concept of being legally married settle in their brains, when they’re no longer so worried of it being taken away from them, they would want to consider having another child. And, like, obviously they’re considering adoption or surrogacy because… you know… that’s what’s available… but I do like the idea of Shikako hearing about it (maybe from Ritsu, who’s old enough to understand what’s happening, but not old enough to know not to tell her hero intimate family details) and then showing up at their house during breakfast and sitting down—just really giving Risshuu deja vu—and dropping the “Do you want biological kids?”
And, well, they’re not going to say no to that. They just… didn’t think it was an option.
And Shikako does say—well, it’s not an option… YET.
And then she sweeps into the next Sealing Group meeting and just throws this topic into the ring and everyone just goes all in on this. It’s the exact overlap of sealing and medicine and “impossible” with further/alternate applications. Because I think the steps to make a functional external womb which WOULDN’T require constant concentration or exact chakra control could also lead into things like… how do bacta tanks work in Star Wars? Or stasis/travel seals to bring injured patients from the field back to a more incorporated hospital.
And, you know, there are probably a bunch of OTHER people who would appreciate an external womb: other couples with incompatible meatware, fertility issues in general. The more, uh, “corporate” equivalent would be clans with members who are reluctant to have kids but are the prime example of their blood limits so if the clan agrees to take care of the kid, they don’t mind donating their genetic material. Or even maybe civilian nobility? But that gets iffy.
Anyway, I don’t think Shikako knows enough by herself, but she definitely has access to and influence over people who cumulatively have the knowledge to pull this off.

Nod your head. Good toy. See? You're enjoying it already. Ah-ah, don't pull at your leash. I brought the fucking taser in my purse, and I know just how much you hate that before you've been broken in. Nod your head. Good toy, glad you agree. See? Just a bot and its' owner, having a fun time togeth - Oh hi, Sally! Yes, I know, isn't it cute? Drinks later? Oh, you are on! Chat soon, good luck with your panel! Byee~!"
"...Look behind us, toy. Is she gone? Good. Stupid bitch. Thinks just because she has more followers than us 'cause she panders to cis people that she's some sort of primadonna. Fucking chaser-chaser. Even her dress was tacky. Dumb whore. Hope she trips and falls on a fucking - you know what? Toy, I think it's time to reveal the little suprise Veronica whipped up for you last week. Okay, okay, that's enough - I don't want you emptying your entire tank here. We have a LOT more people to see, and I don't want them to miss out! Come on, toy. Don't make me keep tugging your leash or I'll get the taser out. You can walk it off. Good toy."
remote control orgasms are a personal fave and it's criminal how little robofucking media/porn I see about it! especially to embarass the toy about it, god that's so fucking hot
never thought to do it through a prostate though and maybe also never stopped thinking about how if you take T long enough you can grow prostate tissue from scratch and will definitely not be obsessed with this concept for the foreseeable future, nope, no way at all
UPDATE: T doesn't do that irl, there's sensitivity changes that can happen and prostatic cells develop in other places

I don't listen to much of her songs, I do really like Venus Fly Trap by her, it was so creative and unique.
I'd like any recommendations if you got some!
I’ll go album by album & say the must listens, and the extra credit (according to my own opinion! extra credit probably means it’s either my personal fav/or not as commercially successful):
The Family Jewels (her debut):
Must listen: Are You Satisfied?, I Am Not A Robot, Mowgli’s Road (the first song I ever heard by her), Obsessions, Hollywood, Hermit the Frog, Oh No!
Extra credit: Guilty, Numb, Rootless, The Outsider, Shampain, The Family Jewels (title track that wasn’t released with the album but can be found on youtube/most streaming platforms), acoustic versions of all songs found on youtube - (Girls is my least fav personally)
Electra Heart (a concept album so there’s a TON there - I recommend first listening by watching the respective music videos for each one!! out of all the eras I feel the EH music videos are the most important visually to see for the concept of the album):
Must listen: really the whole album, but… Bubblegum Bitch, Primadonna, Homewrecker, How to Be a Heartbreaker, Teen Idle, Buy The Stars (best slow one)
Extra credit: Fear and Loathing (6 minute album version), Radioactive, Valley of the Dolls, Sex Yeah, Power & Control, The State of Dreaming, Starring Role, Lies, Lonely Hearts Club, Electra Heart (title track released toward the end of the era), all the acoustic versions from this era on youtube, Su-Barbie-A and The Archetypes (2 music videos/snippets on youtube), - (Hypocrates is my least fav on the album but still good)
Froot (full of bops):
Must listen: Froot, Happy, Blue, Solitaire, Savages, Immortal
Extra credit: the rest of the album so- I’m a Ruin, Forget, Gold, Can’t Pin Me Down (my fav), Better Than That - Weeds is my personal least favorite on the album
Love + Fear (love it but my least fav album)
Must listen: Handmade Heaven, Orange Trees, True, To Be Human, End of the Earth, Karma, Emotional Machine, No More Suckers, Soft to be Strong, Believe in Love
Extra credit: The rest of the album is so much weaker in comparison in my opinion. I still listen to the songs if I’m in the mood for it (Enjoy Your Life, Life is Strange, You, Too Afraid) but there are a couple songs I seriously dislike and always skip (Baby, Superstar - sorry to the stans of those songs, don’t hate me) also there are a ton of way better unreleased ones from this era on youtube, tbh
Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land (her most recent as of right now, and such a good one)
Must listen: Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land, Venus Fly Trap (you mentioned you know it, and this is probably my personal favorite!), Man’s World, Purge the Poison (my other fav), Highly Emotional People, New America
Extra credit (they are all just as good but these ones make me a lil sad bc they remind me of a bad time in my life ngl lol): Pandora’s Box, I love you but I love me more, Flowers, Goodbye, and then there’s the bonus tracks that were released later = Happy Loner, Pink Convertible, Free Woman
Andddd she probably has another album coming soon 💓
Let me know if any of you agree/disagree with my takes 🤭

Bracket G Round 1
Poll 9
Suzuki Nobu & Yoshioka Jun (@to-hell-with-good-intentions & @hilowperfixations) vs. Aubrey Miller (@serethespider)
401. Suzuki Nobu & Yoshioka Jun (@to-hell-with-good-intentions & @hilowperfixations)
He/him for both of them!
Two autistic middle schoolers against the world... They are silly. Nobu has too many brain cells and Jun has none. They are besties because Jun forced them to be. He hugged Nobu one day and has not let go since. Nobu did not like this at first but now they will both cry if they are separated. They do bestie activities like Jun braids Nobu’s hair while Nobu explains hyper advanced music theory concepts that he does not understand. Nobu got his first phone (he was previously very against technology) just to FaceTime with Jun. Jun has a silly little crush on Nobu and is very obvious about it but Nobu does not see... or does he????!?! They have a playlist together made of disco music and 15 minute long orchestral pieces. Also they both know Hatsune Miku.
Jun is a short, 13-year-old boy with light brown skin, dark, curly hair, and very bright outfits that look like they come straight out of the 1970s. Nobu is a pale, 13-year-old boy with blonde hair who dresses in sweater vests and khakis, like a college professor.
402. Aubrey Miller (@serethespider)
any/all
How does one begin to describe Aubrey Miller? They're a happy, bubbly people-pleaser. She's a primadonna theatre gay who thinks in stage metahpors. He's an interdimensional eldtritch being with unmatched telepathic powers who nobody has ever heard of because she's spent the past 700 years fucking around in small towns learning various trades and taking part in as many forms of performance as possible. They form their identity and mannerisms entirely around the preferences of the people she likes and then just switches out custom-crafted personas as needed. He has 4 concurrently active secret identities and counting. She once systematically ruined a man's entire life for hurting one of her friends. They once cried on the subway because they accidentally upset a stranger. When they're bored they like to layer contradictory lies on top of each other until someone sees through it all, and calls this practice Manipulation Jenga. At least three of my real person friends are actively terrified of them. Character Of All Time.

In Marina Lambrini Diamandis' oft-cited comeback interview with Popjustice last August, she introduced the concept that would lead into her second album: that of Electra Heart, a kind of not-quite-alter-ego/character/affectation/cinematic simulacrum that would feed into the follow-up to her 2010 debut LP as Marina and the Diamonds, The Family Jewels. Representing Greek tragedy, the "loss and failure" side of the American Dream, a daddy complex, and the vacuity apparently lingering inside us all, over six months prior to the eventual release of the LP there was very much a feeling of Marina over-complicating the whole affair: trying to dress up the high-gloss record that she had made with Katy Perry's collaborators (seemingly at the behest of her major label) in layers of philosophy, mythology, artifice, and blonde wigs. (There's a babyish song here called "Hypocrates", misspelled for seemingly no good reason, and with no reference to the philosopher in the song.) It must have stung like billy-o when Lana Del Rey came along and executed precisely what Marina was aiming for, hardly having to open her much-discussed mouth in order to explain herself whilst Marina tied herself in conceptual knots. In short, Electra Heart bears no profound relationship to Greek mythology or philosophical thought beyond exploring situations of basic human pathos (or lack thereof), but its rare affecting moments are heavy with tragedy.
The Family Jewels was disliked by many for its vaudevillian Sparks-like gaucheness, Marina's self-aggrandizement and cock-a-hoop vocal (though there's no doubting the chops of a song like "Hollywood"). But there was a sense of personality to the music as well as Diamandis' deep, hiccupy voice, and a promising sense of audaciousness that's been all but lost here. Working with Dr. Luke, Stargate, Greg Kurstin, and Liam Howe, the songs on Electra Heart fall into three basic categories: the bland, swampy banger (sub-category: "Lies"' Skrillex-lite), a regal, electronic strut falling somewhere between Depeche Mode at their poppiest and the Doctor Who theme tune, and very cloying, nursery rhyme music-box ballads. The campy ding-dong of "The State of Dreaming" is as close as Electra Heart gets to fun, with huge church bells whooshing from side to side in the mix like a pantomime dame testing the trajectory of her ball gown skirts. Relegating great early single "Radioactive" to the bonus tracks on the deluxe version of the LP is nearly as daft as some of the waffle that Marina comes out with here.
Marina really, really wants you to know that she's into pop culture, though the lazy, meaningless strings of references that comprise a good chunk of the songs here aren't any kind of postmodern comment on the Tumblr-ification of society, but just plain bad songwriting. The bombardment of archetypes and clichés is exhausting: "Beauty queen of a silver screen" persuading someone to buy her "a big diamond ring" on "Primadonna"; the titular "Homewrecker" (where excruciatingly bad spoken word verses clash against a pretty triumphant chorus) whose "life is a mess, but I'm still looking pretty in this dress." "Teen Idle" is just horrible, a glitchy ballad that sounds as though it was recorded in a church, where she wishes to be a "virgin pure/ A 21st century whore," "a prom queen fighting for the title/ instead of being 16 and burning up a bible/ feeling super super super suicidal," a chorus of Marinas echoing "super." She wishes for "blood, guts, and angel cake" because "I'm gonna puke it anyway," a weird preoccupation of hers that also crops up in "Homewrecker" ("girls and their cosmic gourmet vomit"), continued from "Girls" on her debut. But as for ending the ego, Marina does seem obsessed with ideas of finality and death-- knowing "where I will belong/ When they blow me out" on the quavering, celestial "Fear and Loathing"-- seemingly finding solace in the reliability of microcosmic, compact celebrity tragedies, perhaps in the face of the parts of this album that ring desperately true.
"You only ever touch me in the dark/ Only if we're drinking can you see my spark," she sings on "Lies". "The only time you open up is when we get undressed," she laments on "Starring Role", which glimmers like clashing porcelain before a stuttering, empowering chorus where she refuses to be a supporting cast member in an alluded-to love triangle. "Doesn't mean that I am weak," she asserts on "Power & Control", repeating, "I am weak, I am weak, I am weak" in an increasingly ephemeral voice. "Every day I feel the same/ Stuck, and I can never change/ Sucked into a black balloon/ Spat into an empty room" goes "Living Dead", a snappy, taut Soft Cell-like number. It feels like shaky ground to say that these vulnerable moments are Electra Heart's finest, catchiest, and hardest-hitting songs, Marina's soaring vocals packing some genuine emotion, picking up on themes of self-loathing that don't need blasé allusions to bulimia in order to indicate emotional emptiness; where the often transcendent states of sex and alcohol collaborate for profoundly dispiriting experiences. Her honesty, at least, is empowering. Whilst there's no getting past some of the duller and more unbearable material on this record, it's a real shame that it's come hamstrung in this unnecessary concept, ready for people to laugh when Marina fails to pull it off. If she'd made a record full of songs as unaffected as these four, Electra Heart could be one of the year's most acclaimed pop albums. Let's hope there's a next time.

4. Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Op. 18: II. Adagio sostenuto by Krystian Zimerman, Boston Symphony Orchestra dir. Ozawa Seiji
[piano and orchestra sound]
My favorite interpretation of Rach 2 (the first movement is my #1). The vibrance, the clarity, the passion... Zimerman’s lyrical phrasing and effusive energy is second to none. I’ll never, ever tire of this piece.
19. In the Next Life by Kim Petras
TURN OFF THE LIGHT is one of my favorite concept albums. It’s theatrical, maximalist, and fun, and the production is truly so pleasing to listen to with a pair of nice cans or IEMs.
Before the album dropped, I had absolutely no idea Kim Petras is German. When this part came on, I was like whoa, she speaks excellent German and this part truly fucks we need more German lines in songs, actually. Little did I know...
49. Man to Man by Dorian Electra
Are you man enough to soften up? Are you tough enough to open up? Man to man You gotta let me in
I associate Man to Man with @redpaint‘s fic of the same title. A cultural reset. The cornerstone of 2019 Seb/Charles especially, the song and the fic capture the essence of their dynamics so well. What a tune, what a fic. Thank you Nat mwah :*
80. Primadonna by MARINA
Primadonna girl, yeah All I ever wanted was the world I can't help that I need it all The primadonna life, the rise and fall
Ah yes, you the girlboss song of all girlboss songs. Marina truly did it best. Electra Heart is a truly a Main Character™ album, and what would our blorbo playlists be without her music.
Spotify Wrapped 1-101

Mun questions: How do you create an OC? What are your steps in creating an OC?
From: Questions for the mun. A series of questions for the mun / the person behind the muse(s)
OH MAN. This is sort of a hard question because I’d argue I have three ways of making an OC. The first is getting an idea from a piece of media/song/art, etc; the second is collaborative work with other people; and the third is mixing and combining the two when I retire older characters due to lack of interest/moving fandoms/etc.
For example, when I made Kor, I was playing WoW with a friend of mine who wanted to do a wolf and lamb concept that was familial rather than romantic, with them playing the lamb and someone else playing the wolf. If I remember correctly, I think Kindred had just come in LoL and they were playing around with that idea (don’t quote me, though, this was years ago). I basically went ‘Sure, sounds neat! I’ll make an alt!’ not realising how attached I’d get to her and made an Gilnean rouge/sharpshooter with a sharp tongue and a bad attitude.
When I talk about Kor in depth, though, oftentimes I’ll mention that she and Ashe are a derivative of an even older OC I don’t play anymore called Catil (Old-school Alliance MG don’t look). Kor encompasses a lot of the bad attitude/trauma of Catil, whereas Ashe takes her brawler attitude and throws herself face-first into a fight. Even though that character is retired, aspects of her live on in those two and it’s sort of recycled work? It that makes even a lick of sense.
Then, when thinking about ideas from media/etc., I can talk about Kor again. Because I shifted from WoW to XIV, there were obviously things I couldn’t carry with me from the other game. Kor was a spy. I didn’t really want her to be a spy, but I loved Limsa Lominsa and all that lore, so I took a huge bulk of that and decided to embrace her being a privateer. I have an absolute fascination with the deep ocean and anything that would make someone with thalassophobia shiver, so I smashed the wolf aspect with horrors of the deep and churned out a story that was faithful to her WoW interpretation but had a lot more of the ideas and motifs I wanted to play with.
Same deal with Sarrai, actually. She was a druid in WoW, but a big primadonna/socialite. I ended up playing her in D&D where she was a spore druid with a deer skull and a big fluffy pink coat. She’s my playground for death positivity/acceptance whilst also being a pink barbie brat and I get a lot of joy out of exploring her as a character.

Time to ramble about your OCs. Any OCs you have, tell us about them? What's lore do you wish to tell of them? Funniest things about your OCs? What inspired your OCs?
I wanna ramble about my original work ocs... Bc its been a while since i talked/thought about them. Let alone drawn any of them.
So ill answer this with my original characters if that alright
👉👈
i have a bunch of ocs. Many are still in drafts cuz ive been busy with fan works. But i have two to 3 series one i am trying to turn into an animation series (@the-mis-adventurers ) and another that is gonna be a collab comic series with @strawberry-mangoprincess (she's more active one her Insta compared to me lol) one is just merely a fun concept i think about every now and then.
Overall my ocs are inspired by other fictional characters. mainly from whatever media i consume and enjoy.
Starting with the concept one.
I only have two ocs made for it so far. Ember and Crystal. They are sisters with fire and ice elemental powers hence their names. Ember like fire embers and crystal like ice Crystals. Orphans dunno who there parents were. Not clear if their powers ran in the family/curse/etc.
Ember always had trouble controlling her powers especially with having a fiery temper. She's the more friendlier sibling however. Crystal despises her ice powers. She has an easier time hiding them so she can blend in with normal people. (I gotta draw them again sometime)
Crystal doesnt hate her sister but isn't close to her either. Feeling the need to take care of her since she's the last of kin.
And now for my (slightly) more thought out ocs from my wip series, the misadventurers
In a nutshell i want this series to be about the power of friendship (i blame my mlp phase for this-)
There's four main characters. All girls bc why not?
Their names are mink, jing, Raine and jennifer.
Mink is the more calm and responsible one out of her friends. Mom friend type. Her hair was actually blonde but turned pink to unknown reasons. (I took inspiration from lofi music when creating her) She proudly owns a pet turtle named fern. Will kick butt if her friends are hurt.
Jing is a goth who enjoys making music. she plans on startd her own band someday. (Eventually she does with her friends. Its called rock n pop. Pending title for now) has a rivalry with another oc of mines, Lillian. Loves to scare the others with pranks and horror movies.
Raine is the artist of the group. She tends to break the fourth wall whenever she wants. Also whatever she draws with her paint brush becomes real. her name is also a pun. Raine strom. (You can see her on my tumblr header harassing my old sona) Very zany in a good way. Has a crush on a dense boi*
Jennifer is a social butterfly. Heart's too big for her sleeve. Pacifist. Tends to let wild animals in the house. And thats how she got a pet goat who may or may not actually be one. Her mother wishes she'd be more responsible.
Now for some reccuring characters-
Lillian - famous star, used to be childhood friends with jing. And now they hate eachothers guts. Primadonna gurrrrllll. All she ever wanted was the worrrrldddd(Took alot of inspiration from the song for her) is an attention hog and will do anything to be popular.
*Milo - Also known as peppermint boi/j. But seriously look at his color pallet-. He does enjoy mints and always passing one out to people. Very dense and doesn't get when he is getting on someone nerves. Just as zany as raine. Uber positive. Don't let him get too excited tho. Cuz he'll LITERALLY explode.
Cole - college drop out. Wonders why the haystack milo and raine won't leave him be. Also tends to be their third wheel on their 'not' dates. He hates it. Very moody. Legend has it he's never laughed or smiled before.
Derek - just some rich dude. Comes up with so many back stories like Horst from ratatouille so its hard to tell which is fake and what is real. Tries really hard for Jennifer to fall for him but doesn't work out.
I already rambled to you about max and min. Buttt I can tell you a it more about them at least about their absent/missing parents
Thymes (pronounced Times) and Divid are the twins and Equan’s Parents.
They are both scientists who worked for [REDACTED]. Thymes and Divid were both pretty much crazy but in a ‘not so dangerous’ type of way.  always ready to invent stuff even if it held no actual purpose.
It did concern them greatly when Equan started going through a Frankenstein phase. At least they assumed it was. Probably didn’t help much they were pretty much working even at home leaving their kids pretty much unattended(And boy oh boy did they learn…)
And sadly disappeared due to unknown circumstances.

"I can only wonder if everyone's costumes are a reflection of themselves." Myranda looked around the room. Animals, creatures, concepts themselves, there seemed to be no direct theme, besides the masks. She could think of no better costume for herself then a weirwood, both a tie to the North, and a face she knew better than her own. She had spent countless hours, tucked close to the trunk of the tree, huddled for warmth under cloaks and blankets while she prayed, solitary and silent. A close friend, closer than nearly anyone. Constant, like a shadow. This was the first time she'd been so far away from a weirwood, and that in itself felt wrong. "And what that then says about the wearer. I suppose even the way one presents an idea says a lot about who they are."

Psst My muse decided to be the bad decision fairy: A Primadona Garden AU Basically Garden!Shikako figured out what happened to Native!Shikako and nopes out of Kohona or maybe Danzo psychological warfare ghost haunting idk? But heavily inspired by the lyrics "All she ever wanted was the world" theme wise. Maybe using garden angst to step into the disparate lives of characters and their desires??
Sorry, anonymous, can you clarify this for me?
It mostly seems like a Garden 'verse concept, not really a Primadonna 'verse concept. Or, rather, I'm not sure where the Primadonna 'verse part comes in?

"i could so kill you right now"; steve rogers x reader
a/n - based on a fic i read awhile ago with the same concept but i literally cant find it anywhere anymore so credits to whoever that amazing writer was !!
"oh steven i could so kill you right now", you spoke through gritted teeth as you threw a punch to the hydra goon in front of you, "if i weren't a little preoccupied."
you heard tony's laughter ring through your comms as he soared above you all, "the government name, you're in the doghouse capsicle!"
"butt out, stark", steve spoke sternly as he fought a few feet away from you.
"i mean, clearly i'm flattered, but why the hell would that be going through your mind right now", you huffed out as you delivered a roundhouse kick to another one.
"it was the heat of the moment", he yelled back.
your and the rest of the teams' gasps fell upon steve's ears.
"NO! not like that! wrong words", you watched as steve's area was free of goons and he leaned over to let out a few breaths of air, "baby if you don't have a reply, let's just pretend i never mentioned anything." steve felt himself growing slightly insecure.
your area became clear as you stopped to look at your boyfriend who seemed to be avoiding your gaze at all costs. before you could say anything sam's voice interrupted your train of thought.
"not to rain on your mildly awkward parade, but we've got a machine gun in the air pointed right at you two", sam spoke as he, tony, and rhodey worked to shoot the plane down.
with your mine still stuck on steve, you hadn't even realized how still you were standing.
"y/n!" steve shouted before lunging his body in front of yours and holding the shield up, awaiting the impact.
you heard sighs flood through the speakers as you made eye contact with a still nervous steve.
"you guys are clear, the plane is out of the air", nat spoke.
steve carefully stood up, holding on to your shoulder to keep you down before determining the area clear on his own terms.
as he pulled you up, his eyes danced everywhere else but yours, worried.
"hey, you can look me in the eyes you dork", you pulled his face to look at yours.
he shot you his infamous lopsided smile, "four years together and you still kinda scare me."
"and i hope i always will", you looked up at him.
"wait, really? but you said--"
you let out a dry laugh, "steve, i'll admit i'm still a recovering primadonna--"
"you'll never fully recover from it, take it from me", tony interrupted.
"not your moment, metal man", bucky's voice rang through.
"says the tin man--"
"okay, they're all banned from speaking", steve took matters into his own hands by removing both his and your earpieces out, "you were saying."
"even though i was pretty blindsided that proposing to me after seeing me choke a guy out was the best you could come up with--"
his hands pinched at your waist, "you're the one always going on about spontaneous moments!"
"are you really using my own words against me right now", you pulled away slightly.
"so back to the 'yes' part", he veered you on.
you tilted your head to the side cockily, "who said anything about me saying yes?"
"oh come on! the look in your eyes when i covered you with the shield was screaming 'yes i'll marry you'", his brooklyn drawl seemed to creep out at the start of your banter.
you smacked his chest, "those were bedroom eyes!"
"so you'll gladly bone me, let me take you out, and force me to come with you to all of your appointments for company; but marriage is where you draw the line?"
" what happens when i want all of my eighty year old casino girlfriends to think i have a boytoy", you quipped as you ran your fingers through his hair.
he let out a laugh at that, "then i'll let you lie!"
"but seriously, dumbass, i'm gonna complain about this proposal for the rest of my life because i'm in a slightly moist tactical suit and you have some guy's blood on your neck!"
"y/n, will you just answer the man", nat interfered as she and the team walked up to meet you two.
you rolled your eyes, "you're right. steve, bucky, clint, and tony are only getting older."
"woah--"
"but yes, if i have to--", you began.
"stop teasing me, i'm doing m' best", steve laughed into your skin as you pulled him close.
"which is why i was always gonna marry you, dumbass."
a/n - i didn't proofread, um dont sue me
