There was this really good podcast on Spotify I found about Ancient Greece, and I listened to his Apollo episode first (because I honestly can't stomach the ones who paint him as 'terrible assaulter'/'epitome of the patriarchy'. Can't stand it. Seriously, there was this so-called 'feminist' mythology podcast i found and I Noped out of there as fast as I could - she didn't even mention Eros's involvement in the Daphne myth! She immediately went 'Apollo: the man who doesn't know the meaning of No' and I was like I'M OUTTA HERE.)

(It's very hard to find good Apollo content out there when you have educated yourself on what he's actually like :( )

What's cool is that he said that before Apollo came along, oracles and the like weren't as common in Greece - they existed, because Gaea was a thing - however, when he was imported in (possibly also with Leto! She has Anatolian origins too!), oracles became more of a thing as Apollo's popularity skyrocketed!

If you look at the number of Oracles Apollo had, you'd also notice that a lot of them are in Anatolia (Turkey today)!. Didyma, Miletus, Claros, ect ect! I think this just adds to the theory that Apollo's main origins come from Anatolia! When he moved to Greece, oracles came with him!

Which is so cool because in my drafts I currently have a picture of a webchart I made of Apollo's (many) domains, and I narrowed down the ones I think are his Big Ones - and Prophecy is one of them.

Also, Apollo has many cities he is the patron of in Anatolia - Troy is obvious, but the island of Tenedos was his too (his son Tenes founded the city there), and he was the patron of Miletus (the city where he met Branchus btw for my Branchus fans out there)!

And going to Leto real quick, her migration from Anatolia religion to Greece's is probably represented in the Hymn to Apollo! Sometimes myths about wandering from place to place were meant to symbolize the importation of a god (Aphrodite floating ashore of Cythera, for example), and Leto...well, she was doing a lot more than the typical wandering in the hymn, but it still fits!

Some versions say she was guided to Delos by wolves from Hyperborea, others say Boreas helped her escape Python, still others claim a rooster was present when she finally was able to give birth and thus became her sacred animal (also she apparently gave birth to Apollo as a wolf? I don't quite remember which version says that but it's something I've heard XD).

Also Delos was very self-conscious about Apollo being born on it because it was afraid he would judge it for not being up to typical island standards XD

Moving to Apaliunas now! He's a Hittite god, but I haven't been able to find out of what :( The main piece of evidence we have of his relation with Apollo is Troy - Apaliunas was the god of Wilusa, who has been found out to be another name for Troy! There was a treaty signed between Wilusa and another city, and the representative of Wilusa's name was commonly translated to "Of Ilios" - and Ilios was another name for Illium, aka Troy.

(Fun fact: The son Apollo had with Ourea was named Ileus, after Troy! They are but a footnote in mythology but I made them Important in my Troy fic XD)

Plus, Apaliunas's name was connected to the Hittite reflex of Apeljōn, which scholars have theorized to be an early form of Apollo's name - remember Apollon? :D

Apollo also has connections to various other deities - the Italian Etruscan god Apulu (Aplu), the Celtic god Grannus, his Egyptian equivalent is Horus and his Phoenician one is Resheph! He's also been identified with Baldur from Norse mythology.

(All of this is made up, the Greek mythos of Endymion is either a Shepherd (most common) or an astronomer and Shepherds are cooler without magic. Most shepherds are sons who didn't inherit land from their farmer parents. Shepherds are also nomadic commonly, because of that). Anyways. Back to the fic. Hypnos sort of subconsciously ages at a similar pace to Endymion. They talk often at night. Hypnos rrrreally likes his eyes btw. Endymion likes Hypnos' eyes, but like Hypnos rrreally like Endymion's eyes. It progresses from 7 years to pre-teen to teenage to young adult I think. 7 years describes everything before that, and all action that happens during that year. Pre-teen you sort of get a feel of them having crushes on each other. Endymion doesn't have a crush because he has a crush on this girl he sees every full moon (Selene). Teen years describes early and late teen years. Endymion and Selene had a falling out (yes it will be in depth) romantically in early teens (say they break up at like 14ish). He then starts to want to know the truth of what they (Hypnos and Selene) are at around mid teens (15-16). Endymion's dad dies shortly after Enymion reaches the age when his dad adopted him (early to mid 20s) a little older than Endymions grandparents. And some contention grows between Hypnos and Endymion. Because Hypnos and his family are immortal and whatnot. At one point I want hypnos and/or selene to allude to making Endymion fall asleep forever (this happens in the actual myth) but I only want fluff in my fic so I don't want it to actually happen. How to tackle the entire Mortal/Immortal thing going on? Maybe, uhh.. I could make him do something like Psyche, power of love motivates him to do something big and gain immortality and whatnot but that might be boring. I could also just make him a shade and die early. That works too. But that's be abandoning the sheep. I haven't figured it out yet.

Hypnos/Pasithea type reader

Once again, I'll refer to the reader as Pasithea but I'll avoid using names in the actual fic. Also this is a fic idea based off of Pasithea Hypnos mini Iliad moment so like, not much as for accuracy. Hypnos and Pasithea meet at a party methinks. A party on Olympus. He doesn't rly wanna attend but here he is. I don't know if I want to make Zeus her dad or Dionysus (she's one of the graces (which are Zeus' daughters) but one Dionysus fan boy decided to make her Dionysus' daughter in his retelling/Dionysus fanfic)). He meets Pasithea, is smitten, etc. Maybe note how Hera wants Hypnos to fall asleep during Herakles moments. Then Iliad happens and Hera wants Hypnos to fall asleep again. This time she's like "hehe pasithea wify wify" and Hypnos is all "omg wify wify" and they arrange a marriage. And Pasithea's viewpoint on it. With Aphrodite. Aphrodite mad. They have another party (THIS PARTY NEVER HAPPENS IN GREEK MYTHOS BTW) and hypnos and pasithea meet properly and they hit it off (pasithea doesn't know it's hypnos and they forget to exchange names). Later on, Hypnos goes to hang out with Pasithea (based off one except that says "Hypnos went to Pasithea's couch and woke everyone up, hehe" (I always saw that as "he went to play video games w her like the loser teenage Romeo and juliet they are but it's prolly intercourse or smth now that I think abt it idk, but no explicit stuff in my fic!!). Pasithea later is like "omg I have a fiancee" and distances herself and eventually she sort of chases him away. But yall he doesn't know he never introduced himself so he's mad lost and considers calling off the wedding. But pasithea in hermes letter is all "nah its fine whatev" and they get married and pasithea is SHOOKETH. She's a bit upset that Hypnos didn't tell the truth but anyways. I don't have much else.

Jason and Juno

I just want to talk about them. I have so many feelings and I can’t find anyone else that cares about them. But, like, why not?

Because Rick ignored Jason in HoO and I still haven’t got my Roman prequels, that’s why.

I freaking love Jason anyway and I always have. And I admit, reading original PJO, I wasn’t the biggest fan of Hera, but we weren’t really supposed to be I don’t think. But Juno? Nah man, Juno is cool.

Everybody seems to write her off because she’s Hera and we all know Hera sucks, and obviously Percy and Annabeth don’t like Hera so makes sense that we kinda subconsciously take their lead. But Juno is cool - and I will absolutely fight that corner forever. It’s like, Ares was kinda a dick in many regards, but Mars was a good dad to Frank, Mars was cool too.

Juno was one of the only gods interested in actively helping demigods, particularly her favoured ones, sure, but she still tried to help. And she obviously cared about them too. Not just Jason, it was very evident she liked Leo a lot too (and I love that too). And we know - at least from ToA - that she had a soft spot for Frank too (and honestly who can blame her).

But yeah, so I actually dig Juno in HoO. She helped out, she was awesome, she was actively nice at least to Jason.

So that’s the first thing to get over. Hate Hera if you want to - but let me convince you that Juno is better. Re-read the books and look for her being nice and cool. Because it’s there.

On top of that though, the relationship between Juno and Jason just makes me so happy and warm. I love it so much, even though I haven’t seen anyone else that seems to care.

Jupiter was at least as much of a dick as Zeus was - that’s something everyone agrees on I think. And I think a lot of us if not everyone can agree that he was a worse dad to Jason than he was to Thalia. And maybe that’s because he washed his hands of responsibility for him after he gifted Jason to Juno. (Dick move btw.) but either way, he basically ignored Jason his entire life and throughout HoO. He was hands down one of the most distant godly parents of the seven and of a lot of main heroes we’ve followed in the series’. So Jason couldn’t really depend on him for help or guidance an awful lot and basically felt like he didn’t have a father. But at least he had Juno.

Juno was a good patron to him. She helped him where she could. She actively and genuinely cared about him. She tried to make herself available for chats when he needed them as much as she could. Gave him presents (his gladius) and praise when he did well, pep talks for what was ahead. As pseudo foster mothers go, she really wasn’t bad. Closest thing Jason had to a parent, and yeah, he could’ve had worse. He did have worse with his alcoholic slightly off the rails actual mother who gave him away, and had worse in a dad who never spoke to him or saw him or lifted a finger to help him until the very last second and who also gave him away. I kinda gotta figure after that kind of treatment from both your actual parents, getting what he got from his patron was probably very appreciated.

And Juno/Hera is the goddess of marriage and family among other things. Throughout the series it’s pretty much her biggest hang up. And obviously she wasn’t always the best mother (poor Hephaestus) to her actual kids, but she kinda held Olympus together. Stopped them all tearing each other apart. Family was important to her and something she valued. Obviously she hated when her husband cheated on her and had someone else’s kids. Honestly? That’s pretty reasonable to be unhappy about. But she watched the rest of her family, literally forever, having kids willy nilly when they wanted to. Obviously Artemis didn’t, but she didn’t want kids and she had the hunters so that’s fine. For someone that loves family so much, it’s very possible she could’ve been a little envious of everyone else having huge families. She still had her Olympian family, but maybe she would’ve liked to have some demigods of her own, if it didn’t involve cheating which she just won’t do. She favoured original Jason and was his patron too, so she was happy enough to adopt them, but it still wasn’t something she did often. So she didn’t get a lot of mortal kids and might’ve felt like she was missing out. But at least she had Jason.

So, being given another little adopted demigod, hell yeah she probably loved mothering him. He was totally her kid. He didn’t have any parent or family to be there for him, she didn’t have any demigod kids of her own and knew she never will. That’s hella cute that they can adopt each other.

Everyone loves found families lately - well this is basically that. Kinda forced at first but doesn’t mean they wouldn’t grow to love each other. They helped each other, could depend on each other. Juno is literally the patron of Rome as well. So even if Jason hadn’t known from the off that he’d been given to Juno, he’d have still had the sense that she had his back along with the rest of Rome, so he might’ve asked for a little help or guidance before HoO, maybe while he was Praetor too. And Juno being New Rome’s patron would’ve probably kept an eye over Camp Jupiter and especially when Jason rose to Praetor she could’ve been paying more attention to him from then. Watched out for him during the Titan War.

I want to know more about them. Especially if Jason was fully aware that she was his patron the whole time before HoO. I want them to have had some sort of relationship. I want them to like each other at least a little. Nico and Hades got closer eventually. Percy and Poseidon (and honestly a bunch of the gods) got on well. Mars adored Frank. Aphrodite seems pretty cuddly with her kids in general. I don’t think it’d be a terrible stretch for Juno and Jason to have each other’s backs.

I want to know if Jason ever made offerings for her along with Jupiter. Burnt food at CHB for her as well as his dad.

I want to know if Juno ever helped him out on earlier quests at all, whether he knew it or not. If she ever gave him and maybe Reyna too, sort of a Praetor deal, counsel.

I want to see Juno fully lean into having Jason as her favourite, as her chosen hero. I want to see her lend some power to him when he needs it. I want to see Jason with the Blessing of Juno. How many demigods would’ve ever gotten that? That’s unheard of. I want it for him. I want to see him marching on Mount Othrys to take down Krios and topple the throne, not with the blessing of Jupiter (although I would also love to see him with that, that would be so cool!) but with the blessing of Juno, patron of Rome. I wanna see him monologuing Krios into intimidation like he did to the giants: I'm the son of Jupiter, I'm a child of Rome, consul to demigods, praetor of the First Legion. I slew the Trojan sea monster, I have the blessing of Juno: Patron of Rome. And she also happens to be my stepmom, dick.

I talked about it in another post before, him getting her blessing. Supposedly with her Roman counterpart she’s supposed to be militaristic, strategic, etc. A blessing from his dad would be like an explosion of power, don’t get me wrong. It’d be like Thor in Infinity War. Magnificent. He could totally burst into the palace and fry Krios and destroy the throne. But I think it’d also be pretty damn awesome if he got zapped with her blessing and became like the ultimate military leader (kind of like Frank with Mars’ blessing I suppose, but more strategic instead of hitting the protein shakes), leading the troops in the invasion and being a total Praetor before he even became Praetor.

Side note: It’s probably not possible but can you imagine if he got blessings from both of them?? I doubt you can have two at a time, but that would be spectacular if he did. Especially from Jupiter and Juno. He would be incredibly powerful, no wonder the Legion made a big deal out of him in the early part of the series. Always was a little disappointed we never got to see cool Roman Jason. I love Jason, I do, but he wasn’t exactly what we heard about in The Lost Hero and Son of Neptune. It never felt like we saw his full potential. So I’m just gonna sit in my corner and dream it up instead lol.

Anyway, this was purely for me because I have a lot of feelings about these two and I couldn’t find anything about them at all or not anything positive. But if anyone else likes them or has ideas or there is stuff you can point me to, please do, I want to get involved in it and find people that are into this so bad!

I admit, even if i'm a big LO fan i really like your blog and i agree with some opinions here.

I would like to give my opinion of some things that i need to get off my chest about Persephone's act of wrath:

1. The gods needing a permit for an act of wrath on humans is stupid, how does that even work? Someone offends them so they get angry and go to Zeus and if Zeus is on board with it he gives them a papper that says "Zeus let me do this"??? Like, an act of wrath like Persephone's is something that happends when a god snaps, it happends in the moment. How does Zeus think they will be calm enough to walk away, go talk to him and get a permit from him? That's just stupid. Also, Zeus literally burned Demeter's field out of anger because she didn't wanted to hyde one of he's misstress, so he isn't exactly good at controling he's wrath either.

2. Persephone's anger towards those humans that killed her nymph friends shouldn't be taken as something bad, they had a deal with Demeter and they break it, witch resulted in Persephone's friends (that she created) being murdered and in top of all when she told them to stop they laugh and make fun of her. Imagine being a 19 year old goddess that just had a fight with your overprotective mother, is in a bad mood and in a moment of anger you yell at your childhood friends, that you created by the way, just to turn around and seeing them desintegrating in front of you and the last thing that you told them is "i want you guys to leave me alone" in top of all, when you go and confront the killers they laugh at you because you're just "some minor goddess" hell, i would have snapped too! Not saying that what Persephone did was okay but i can undestand why she finally snapped.

3.Those humans who cut the flowers would and should have been punished anyway, killing nymphs was a big deal in mythology (i have the theory that Persephone's act of wrath was based on the myth of Demeter and Erisicton, were the King Erisicton wanted to use the trees on a forest sacred to Demeter to build the forniture of he's palace, and he ended up killing a dryad (i think that's the name for a forest/tree nymph) so Demeter cused him and the dude ended up eating he's own daughter and himself) Hell, even offending a nymph was considered worth of a punishment, look at Andromeda's Mother, she almost got her daughter killer for claiming she was more beutifull than the ocean nymphs. So i don't see why those humans wouldn't have been punished if Kore would have just told her mother way they did.

4. Killing and punishing mortals wasn't even a big deal in greek mythology:

.Hera had no remorse in cursing and killing Zeuse's "lovers" and bastard children.

. Athena turned a woman into a spider and depending of the version she turned Medusa into a monster.

.Artemis and Apollo killed the 14 kids of a Queen who claimed to be better than their mother, Leto.

.Poseidon, with the help of Aphrodite, make Mino's wife fall in love with a bull and had the bull's baby as revenge for not sacrifasing said bull in he's honor.

.Zeus send an ex-king to Tartarus for claiming that he sleep with Hera.

So the fact that RS make a law in LO of "no killing/punishinf mortals" really makes no sense to me.

wlw fic recs coming up (and no, you didn’t sound demanding!)

I shall refer you, first of all, to my previous post of wlw book recs, but in the three months since that post, I’ve read several more very enjoyable wlw books. (BTW, I still highly recommend Finding Jessica Lambert if you don’t mind age-gap romance!)

Wrong Number, Right Woman by Jae which features a butch lesbian who’s not a skinny beanpole and a slightly younger woman who starts out the story thinking she’s het and then realises, no, she’s not! It also features a trans woman (the ‘straight’ woman’s best friend) whose presence in the story is neither downplayed nor overplayed. Heather is simply Eliza’s best friend and her being trans is no big deal. This story reminded me of the Berena story in some ways. As a bonus it’s currently only 99p on Kindle!

Budding Romance and Blooming in the Sun by Lara Kinsey about two older Sapphic women, one’s just founded her own school for girls and the other is the butch gardener whom the school head employs.

Now and Again by Natasha West is a second-chance romance about two young women who haven’t seen each other in a decade when one was crushing on the other in school!

Through the Roof by Natasha West (what can I say, I’m a fan!) is again an age-gap romance (though they’re both into adulthood) about an older woman who’s a long-term presenter on a TV magazine show and the younger woman who comes in to co-present after the older woman’s male presenter is on sick leave for a couple of weeks. 

Still Life by L T Smith is about an art teacher and her student falling in love. Be warned, there’s some discussions of past abuse by a previous lover in this one, but it doesn’t go into graphic detail.

Venus & Aphrodite by Barbara Winkes is about a young woman who dares to open a restaurant despite having no experience in the restaurant trade and the woman whom she hires as her chef.

The Mark of Athena Review

Ok so once again i continue reading “The Heroes of Olympus” and once again i need to vent so Tadaaaaa !!

So before I start, here is a  more general Review : I really REALLY liked this book. Favorite of the serie so far. Also, obviously, SPOILERS !!

THINGS I DIDNT LIKE : 

- The role of Frank : I can maybe forgive that, because with 7 main characters i  understand it’s difficult to give them all an important role in one single book. But I really loved him in “The Son of Neptune” and I really wanted to see more of him, and the most of what we got was him being the Jealous Boyfriend. It was kind of disappointing so I hope it’ll change in the next books. 

- Piper : it costs me a lot to put her there because I really really loved her in “The Lost Hero” but I have to admit I didn’t like one single chapter of hers in “The Mark of Athena”. Or at least not completely. In the first book there was the relationship with her dad, her culture, her dealing with the fact she was an Aphrodite children, the begining of a friendship with Annabeth and Leo... But in this book ? It’s only about Jason. Endlessly. And it’s so tiring and eyeroll worthy, especially when we compare her “issues” over JASON with the others’. And even without that, she was really not a great person in this book and not in the interesting way : she was ready to put the whole World in danger just so Jason wouldnt stay in New Rome, kept Charming Up her friends just for convenience (like srsly i know thats not supposed to be a Big Deal but thats still mind control so yikes), and when it came down to it, no matter what she said about how Leo is like her little brother or Annabeth is her BFF, she only gave a crap about Jason Jason Jason...There was barely a scene of her with the other two. And I find it frustrasting that it didn’t even feel like the plot during her chapters were about her, but more about Jason and her being a support for him, even though they were HER chapters !!

- Jasiper : Well I guess that’s not really a surprise lol. I never liked this pairing and this book didn’t change my mind on that at all. Piper keeps clinging to the three months THAT NEVER HAPPENED (and that apparently weren’t faithful to Jason’s character like srsly is she even really in love with HIM or the idea of him she had in her mind ?) instead of the 8 real months they spent together, thinks it’s a miracle when Jason appologizes (he’s a real catch huh ?) and is so so sure he’ll leave her to go to New Rome which first : wow you really have faith in this relationship huh ? But also second : why is this such a Big Deal ?? Even if he did go to New Rome she could still follow him (she made it pretty clear she’d leave all of her friends in Camp Half Blood to be with him), it’s not like he’s a whole new different person when he’s there !! And my baby Reyna was so hurt by that, like Jason was a reall asshole here, even if he was oblivious and didn’t realize her feelings for him she’s still supposed to be his friend and the first thing he asks after 8 months of disappearing is if he can spend alone time with his gf ? And I found it kind of frustrating that in the end, all the others left on their own to do their own things (yk, to save the fucking world ?) while literaly risking their life and Jasiper just...went on a date. Like seriously ? So yeah. Not a fan. 

- The whole Frank x Leo “rivalery” : Why make another older character be attracted to 13 years old ?? Can you stop that ??? Leo could also be a real ass sometimes, even tho I still love him and Frank well...I already talked about that. This book had enough pissing contests between guys as it is. 

- Percy apparently forgetting all the Hercules stuff  he learned in “The Titan Curse”. I know it might not seem like THAT much of a deal but it was a really important thing for his character ? That he learned how Heroes, especially Hercules, were real assholes too and that he had to learn to not be like them ? That Zoe, his friend who sacrificiced herself to save the world, was treated like shit by this guy but now he was still like “omg this is Hercules I SO want to meet this guy he seems great !!” ???. It was just one sentence but I hated it. 

- The focus on the Romantic relationships. Look I have nothing against romance and ships. I love romantic love in stories !! But I also love friendships and I really wish this book would have given us more of that instead of spending so much time on romantic relationships. I mean it is pretty well illustrated in the end of the book when they all separate : all the groups are romantic pairings. Percabeth, Jiper, and Frazel with Leo who has kind of a crush on Hazel. And as much as I love Frazel and Percabeth, where are the friendships ?? Percy and Jason’s relationship was supposed to be very important in this book so why didn’t we see more of that ?? What about the friendships that were already established like Percy with Frank and Hazel, Leo with Piper and Jason, Piper and Anabeth,...And all the new friendships that could have had more screen time like Annabeth and Frank or something !! So yeah that was disappointing. 

THINGS I LOVED : 

- the River God scene. Ok so yes I kind of lied : I enjoyed this chapter of Piper. Well this scene at least. And only kind off, because it is still a Jasiper moment but anyway. In my last review of “the Son of Neptune”, I mentionned how it always annoyed me that the heroes have a habit of always making the Good Moral Decision, without any hesitation, even if the fate of the world is in the balance. I was like “Give me morally conflicted characters damn it” !! And that’s what I got here. Piper having to lie to the God, taking his horn that was so important to him, even tho he was just a very tragic dude, to save Jason and the World, realizing that even if it is bad and she feels like shit after doing it, she still had to do it...YES !!! THANK YOU !! I LOVED THAT !!!

- The LEO X NICO INTERACTIONS !!!!!! After spending 2 books shipping them (they’d fit so well together i will die on this hill) they finally talked !!! Well once, and about the fact that Percabeth just fell into fucking Tartarus but like !!! TALKING !!!! And the first thing Nico tell him is to reassure him <3 (look I know it won’t be canon but the POTIENTIAL!!!)

- Annabeth’s chapters. I can’t imagine anyone who wouldn’t like them like we finally got her point of view people !!! And it was awesome !!! I loved seeing her on a quest, the way she thinks and sees the world, how she uses her intelligence,... Like she’s so brave and smart but also so sentimental even tho she’d never admit it (like getting emo about having lost the white hair because it was a connection with Percy ? My baby is so fucking precious). And obviously we already knew that but to actually be in her head ??? It was so fucking good !! And it really succeeded to make me feel so much for her, like she’s just a kid and her mother literaly sent her to her death and she was so scared but she still kept going (only to end up in Tartarus WHYYYYYY) and I’m so proud of her. I love this character so much !!

- Percabeth : The reunion !!!! FINALLY !!!! That’s my first ever OTP right there and they’re so in love !! They’re such a badass power couple and they love eachother so fucking much !! God i missed them X( I loved every Percabeth scenes, they were so adorable and beautiful. I loved how even tho they are differents and are not always in the same page, they still know eachother so well and the communication was just so cheff’s kiss. And omg their lasts scenes together ?? Chills !! Like when Percy almost begged the (kind of?) gods to let him stay just a few more moments with her because he was so scared of never seeing her again almost brought tears to my eyes and then of course their final scene when they fall together into Tartarus, because all that matter is that they’re together...MY HEART !!!

- Percy’s and Leo’s chapters. I put them together because I don’t have much  to say except that I love them so much and that I would literaly lay down my life for this two. Their chapters are always such joy to read, and after one whole book without him, I was really glad to get back with Leo. Probably the funniest chapters too. 

- The Crazy Dolphins scene. This scene was fucking hilarious. Pic comedy ^^

- The crumb of friendhips dynamics we got. So much potential I want to see more !! Like Percy x Jason, Annabeth x Frank (so much Hermione x Neville vibes), Leo x Frank, Hazel x Annabeth, Percy x Frank, Annabeth x Leo (Leo who is so scared of and impressed by her as he should lol),...That’s probably one of the reasons I was so bitter about the romantic relationships getting so much more time, like ALL the friendhships that were so interestings like come on !!

- Percy thinking about LUKE !!! hjfgjehgfjhsegf !!! The fact that he still considers Luke as his fighting teacher, still thinks about his training and his advices !!! Even going as far as thinking he totally understood where he came from for doing all this horrible things !!! That was so awesome !! And such a character development !!! And that makes Percy even more of an interesting character !!! Anyway I loved that ^^

- All the mythological aspect like Rick can be such a genius sometimes with how he uses them, managing to stay faithful to them while sill adapting them to a more modern setting and that works so well !! Well its there in every single one of the PJO series book, but I just wanted to put it out there so here. 

- Hazel story. Look I didn’t like the whole weird kind off “love triangle” thing with Leo and Frank. But I love Hazel and I LOVED knowing more about her and also knowing more about Leo’s ancestor (who was awesome btw). That was such an interesting story, how she discovered that her only friend back then and first love spent his whole life thinking her disappearence was his fault.  And the flackback was so cute too ^^ Also Loved her being so desperate finding her brother because that’s what Nico deserves and that was adorable. I really hope we’ll get to see more of their bond. 

- The end. Such an amazing cliffhanger. I could feel the tension in the scene, I could’t stop reading and then the last chapter were everyone was just so in chock but Nico still believed that Percy would come back out of it alive because he admires him so much. It was SO !!! FUCKING !!! GREAT !!! Amazing way to end this book.

Ava’s Demon Theories. Here we go again. First One

SOOOO HOW ABOUT THAT UPDATE?! I just have a few things to say about it. Like these will be the points I’m covering rn: 1 - Gil’s Dream and Nevy’s emotions 2 - Star Guy and his sin (a theory) 3 - Said above Star Guy and Maggie

so, let’s state the obvs: The art was fucking incredible and I have been blessed this day (worships the art). Alright enough gushing. I will be here all night going over the art. Gil’s Dream and Nevy’s Emotions. I’m going to point out this real quick. There is a fucking reason Nevy chose Odin to play his part in the Dream. She knows there is something connecting him to Pedri, even if she doesn’t realize it. My examples are below:

So, with these examples, we see how much she remembers and connects him to Pedri. From there, it’s easy to see how she would make him the prince in the dream. She obvs knows where Gil swings on the proverbial bat (tbh, I don’t blame them on Odin) so, for her, having them both get these feelings of love from the same guy? For Nevy it’s no big deal. Hence where her feelings come in. As said above, she remembers love, with Odin being the trigger. She is slowly remembering more as time goes on and in her mind, Odin is making me remember. SO, I’m going to be around him. By making Gil be around him will help trigger her memories. Good or bad is up to her. Now, onto Gil’s Dream. I’m going to say this *clears throat* FUCKING GAY BIITTCHH. I loved the art, the music, the tempo. Everything was amazing for Gil. Now here is where I list why this is a poopy bad thing. Gil is clearly up De Nail without a paddle here. Nevy is using her creepy psychic powers to push him (she is going JUST KISS) and give him a happily ever after with a prince all of his own. 

Clearly Gil likes him, the blush from before when Odin told him good night is a good indicator. Now, this leads me to how BAD this is going to be. See, Gil is at heart, a good fucking person. He just falls into jealousy and is slightly naive given how he was raised/grew up. No doubt whenever the kiddos end up going to either Adienfell or the Titan run planet and end up on the run, we will no fucking doubt have a god-thrice damned Love Square. 

Love square? Meg wtf you on about? Well, here is where shit is going to get messy. Bad. See, Gill clearly likes and lusts after Odin (bless his little gay fishy heart) while Odin may have a huge fat crush on Ava who still likes Maggie WHO in turn is wanting to get down and dirty with said fish boy. Love Square. Which in all honesty, is how I believe Gil pacts with Nevy. Gil wants Odin. Jealousy is a SIN for a reason. Gil will want to “save” Odin from Ava which will lead to him pacting with Nevy. It would be a “win-win” for them both. Nevy gets her revenge on Wrathia and Gil gets Odin.

I’m also going to point out Prince Odin in the dream. None of the kids know that Odin is LEGIT a prince of a planet (it’s never stated so I’m assuming here) and when that comes to light, shit is going to hit the damn fan. Ava will be shooketh, Maggie will be FURIOUS she missed a chance with royalty and Gil? He will be over the moon that his prince is literally a prince.

I’m also going to point out something I noticed while I watched the video. FUCKING NEVY IS LEGIT MADE THE SAME POSE/WAY/SHAPE AS APHRODITE IN THE INFAMOUS PAINTING OF HER BIRTH. Need I say ANY FUCKING MORE?! For those who don’t know much about said Shipper Goddess, here is a sazzy link to a very informative but fun video on her backstory/history. Which stands to make this a very very VERY bad thing. But why you may ask? WELL for those who don’t know, Nevy now being connected to Aphrodite is going to make everything go from shit to straight on hell on wheels. Michelle is very big on symbolism in her story (we all know and love this) so having Nevy arrive/show up for the first time in Gil’s Dream like Aphrodite is NOT A COINCIDENCE.

To sum everything up, Nevy’s emotions are going to raise hell and Gil’s Dream is a bad fucking omen. thanks for coming to my ted talk

... I just had a sudden flashback.

So I'm trying to get a Scyther on let's go Eeeve. I accidently got a shiny Pigiott (... Again. I have three of these things now.) I suddenly got a flashback to when i got my own shiny...

So... First shiny i got was actually a starter, shockingly. When i unlocked the daycare, in Pokemon Ultra Sun, I wanted my female popplio from Pokemon Sun, Aphrodite (My actual starter i got was Rowlett (i was actually never a big fan of Litten, Rowlett and Popplio i absolutely love)). So, quite literally, 11 eggs in. I get a Popplio a slightly different color (note: I never seen any of these shiny starters before, so i was clueless at why this one was diffrent) than the others. This popplio was still male, i checked his summary to see the little red star and i was suddenly freaking the fuck out. Did i keep him? Hell yes! And he's now fully evolved and one of the strongest members on my team. His original name was "Fabio" buuut... For a reference to TTYD... I renamed him to "Flavio" (... Mainly because I kept daying "Flavio" insted of "Fabio" anyway). I did get that female one btw after like... 20 something eggs in... Yeeeaaahhhh, getting him wasn't intentional but i still love him nonetheless (also shiny Primarina is GORGEOUS)

The first shiny i got in the wild (... That wasn't in Let's go Eeeve) was in Pokemon X. I had my headphones on and connected, and i had shinies (that aren't originally mine, just got them from either super lucky wonder trades or lucky GTS deposits, also i already finished the game i was just messing around in it) so i recognised the sound of shines. Random encounter, ok normal, i was in a low leveled area of pokemon so nothing to worruy about. I wasnt paying attention because i wasn't shiny hunting, and didn't expect anytning different. I looked at my phone until i heard the shiny noise, then my attention instantly went up to a shiny (female) bunnleby. I instantly caught her and named her "Lola", she's also fully evolved and i still love her.

Lovestruck Series Review: Astoria: Fate’s Kiss (Season 2)

Personal playing order: Hades - Hydra - Cerberus - Chimera - Cyprin - Medusa

(Note: This is the worst playing order ever if you want to come out of this season still liking Hades, btw. I was the living embodiment of that Tyra Banks gif for those first three routes.)

Warning! Major spoilers ahead for Hades’s and Chimera’s routes, and minor spoilers for Hydra’s and Cerberus’s routes.

Hades: Oh, Hades. Why. You were my favorite, dammit. At least the avalanche started out small: Hades mostly annoyed me in his own route, but nothing worse than that.

I want to clarify that I don’t think his route is badly written - I think it’s realistic that Hades isn’t the Mr. Perfect season 1 made him out to be, and that he can be fairly set in his ways after several centuries of godhood. 

What irritated me was that according to the guide I used, I couldn’t choose options where I actively voiced my complaints if I wanted to get the Passionate Ending (even if MC did her own share of it through auto-dialogue). I get that relationships are supposed to be about compromise, and it’s not as if I can’t understand where Hades is coming from, but it kind of grated on my nerves nevertheless that the “best” choice was to continually appease his whims. 

In the end he spent way too long being domineering and interfering in MC’s career (which is canonically very important to her) for me to get over it with an apology and some steamy smut scenes, especially after having been forced to act complacent for so long. Furthermore, his problematic stance that gods are better than humans is never addressed beyond MC turning out to not be “just” a human, and any misapprehensions MC might’ve had about his feelings re: the rest of her kind is shoved under the rug after their subsequent near-death experience.

Ending acquired: Passionate

Hydra: Strike two for Hades. I just can’t with how he probably knew MC already had a boyfriend, but decided to go through with it anyway without her consent and as her work superior. Especially after that whole “you need to be professional” spiel in Cerberus’s S1 route. Ugh. The one good thing that came out of this was how much it helped to further make Hydra shine in comparison -- I love how open and understanding he was about it. 

The way Hydra handled his disapproval of what MC was doing work-wise was also such a breath of fresh air after Hades’s route. I love how supportive he was, and that both he/MC weren’t afraid to stand their ground with each other when they disagreed. At first I wondered how the writer(s) would make the hate/love, constant-bickering-dynamic-duo thing work out in a long-term relationship, but Hydra/MC really came through here with their communication.

Don’t even get me started on when Hydra let his guard down or got openly affectionate/vulnerable, or when they had that whole I-know-you-too-well-and-can-tell-what-you’re-thinking-without-words vibe going, or the freaking finale when I almost died from sheer feels. Yeah. Seriously, just don’t.

Ending acquired: Passionate

Cerberus: ...And the final straw for Hades. Using a guise of professionalism to excuse his own overly stubborn ass for overworking his “sons” and alienating MC after that stunt he just pulled in Hydra’s route? Yep, not flying with me, buddy.

Cerberus himself was sweet. I liked how he’d matured both in regards to his work and relationship, and his brothers were adorable too. Bar Hades’s antics, I love their family and how MC really feels like a part of them now.

Writing-wise I wasn’t a big fan of this route, though. The plot was fine, but the pacing was a bit of a mess. The developments either seemed to happen at 30 or 120mph, and the constant lack of communication regarding any important information also drove me near batty. (It’s not ancient Greece for Chrissakes, just fire a text if you’re too busy to talk. Or stop making out every free minute you’ve got and start talking about the Big Bad sending you subconscious death threats every night at least once instead.)

Ending aquired: Passionate

Chimera: Much better-written than his first season, but it’s still... pretty average to me, I guess? Chimera remains kind of juvenile to me, but more like an irresponsible 20-year-old than a teenager now. The major plot developments felt slightly hamfisted, though: Chimera Prime was a rather one-dimensional villain, and I never fully bought into her or Chimera’s motivations for their grab for power. One would think that with Prime’s conflict with Typhon she wouldn’t want to be King; while I still have no idea why Chimera would. (We’re told it’s because Prime treats her fellow monsters badly, but beyond ordering a few groupies around we never get to see it.)

On the other hand, Typhon became my new favorite character in this route. Not only did he happily indulge the son and future DIL who both brought him down over Olympian coffee, he also got one-hit wiped out for the count as collateral damage when his two kids brawl it out... while Chimera got away with a cut on his lip. If I don’t see him regale his grandkids with tales of his would’ve-been world conquest in the epilogue, something has got to give.

Ending acquired: Thrilling

Cyprin: My second favorite for this season. I found the Ares/Aphrodite dynamic interesting, and I like that there was no need for love triangle drama. Cyprin and Pandora did their best to minimize any potential communication issues, too. All-in-all solidly written. If I have to be nitpicky I wish there’d been something to make me a little more emotionally invested -- I feel like this didn’t grab my interest as much as the first season did -- but it’s a very minor complaint.

Ending acquired: Passionate

Medusa: I would’ve put this on par with Cyprin’s route if not for, well, ironically Cyprin themself here. I thought the love triangle was unnecessary and forced; Medusa handled it in a very normal fashion, but after seeing Hydra’s reaction in his own route I couldn’t help but compare. Medusa/MC themselves were pretty cute throughout, though, and I enjoyed seeing more sides to Medusa compared to the first season.

Ending acquired: Passionate

Final character ranking: Hydra > Cyprin > Medusa > Cerberus = Chimera >> Hades*

* (I didn’t actually dislike Hades’s route that much, but my perception of him was inevitably colored by the routes that I immediately played after his. In actuality, I would probably place his route on par with Cerberus’s.)
