Bro's your biggest supporter (bro but gender neutral), you could walk in wearing a trash bag and Matcha would think you were the most ethereal being to walk the planet Earth. You walking in with cat ears makes them want to cry, you look so heavenly. You panic a little bit as they grab onto your ankle and weep while singing your praises. They just want to worship you as you deserve. Definitely wants you to buy a cat collar, not for yourself but for them. They just want to be yours and seeing you looking so cute eggs them on.

Shopkeeper finds it amusing that you prance into their cafe wearing cat ears. Do you want them to serve your coffee in a saucer for you to lap at? Don't look so frustrated it will only egg them on further. Besides that, Shopkeeper is neither ecstatic nor completely hating the idea. They love you for you and cat ears will make no difference.

Espresso:

Espresso is pretty nonchalant about the cat ears, if it makes you happy and doesn't harm anyone go for it. If anyone talks bad in public about you wearing them, you get scary cat privileges as Espresso looks more like a panther behind you. Glaring as he shields you from the offending party. He will probably be more into them when he starts drawing pictures of you with cat ears. Besides that, no big reaction.

Cappuccino:

So, you still going to cuddle them? Okay then they don't care. Cap don't give a single fuck, definition of apathy. Only reason they are slightly interested is because they are on you. If you were to do things that cats do to show affection like bring Cap gifts or nuzzle them. You won't be leaving the cafe without being dragged off to a secluded area and being thoroughly marked. Sides that lazy kitty don't care.

Confused Croissant activated. Are you trying to court him? He's flattered immensely but don't you think this method is a little unorthodox? Croissant flushing like you kissed him in public. leigh and cat rambles

thinking about. the fact that leigh was NOT used to being treated kindly or gently, or being looked after, or being cared for. shed just never gotten much warmth from anyone all her life, didnt really have friends or anyone who appreciated her presence more than in very fleeting superficial ways. she had been generally just left alone to figure things out on her own (which definitely contributed to a lot of her idiosyncrasies and her ways of assessing situations or her own behaviors). she had a very shaky idea of who she was or who she couldve been to other people, aside from like. someone to get things done when asked, someone who makes themselves useful.

and im thinking about how much it sucked for her to have to travel from goodsprings to primm to the mojave outpost to nipton to novac all alone--its not that she wasnt used to traveling by herself, after all she was a courier, but like. she had just been Shot In The Head. she was sore and confused and Torn Away From Her Own Sense Of Self and basically got a free partial lobotomy and a bunch of symptoms she had trouble dealing with (especially the seizures, scary stuff, knowing it could happen at any moment and there wouldnt be anyone to make sure she was okay). she was sleep deprived and broke and had to painstakingly remind herself how to do stuff like mend her gear, make food, use her weapon properly etc. she knew she couldve stayed in goodsprings for a while longer to recover, or stopped in primm or at the outpost, but she just didn't feel welcome. regardless of how people actually reacted to her presence, she just felt that she wasn't wanted or welcome, and the only ways she could exercise the degree of "selfishness" thats necessary for survival was to, yknow, steal shit. the vast majority of what she had on her by the time she got to novac she'd stolen lol. change of clothes, personal hygiene items, first aid essentials, the damn pot to cook things in, etc. obviously most of it was stuff that people wouldve shared with her if she'd asked, but You Try Getting Her To Ask.

thing is despite all of that sort of life experience she wasnt ever the, yknow, Hrngh Everyone Has To Survive On Their Own, Its A Dog-Eat-Dog World, Cant Rely On Others type. she always believed it was all about community and helping one another and contributing to the collective good. not even in a We Instinctively Need One Another As Human Beings way, just that its sensible and effective. its just that she didnt really get to have that like most others did. she watched it all from a distance. she contributed if she could, but knew not to expect much in return. at some point it became something of a self-fulfilling prophecy really, but like, it was just How Things Were to her, it hardly even registered as anything irregular. it was just sort of obvious. she wasnt getting much of anything from people and it was wrong of her to ask

all that is to say it was kind of crazy to her when boone was just like. nice to her. not outwardly warm or anything obviously (i mean its boone. specifically freshly widowed pre-transition boone), and she did ask leigh for help with something, but leigh did pick up on that it was at that point out of sheer desperation and helplessness and having no one around to turn to. which, i mean, Leigh Was Familiar With The Experience. but with that out of the way boone was. nice to her. didnt do pleasantries, just like. made her some food. gave her clothes a wash (washing machine privilege...). and then decided to travel with her, and turned out to be eager to keep leigh safe and for them to have each others back. crazy stuff for leigh. like Whats going on. This Rules.

leigh got kind of overly excited there actually akdhncksfhdj like it made her a little bit hyper initially. high on Nice To Her. omg omg boone lets check out gibsons scrap yard omg can you show me how to use a rifle omg whats your favorite food!! bit too intense for boone, You Are Overstimulated And Cannot Hang. leigh quickly settled down and apologized a bunch but boone was like Why are you apologizing its fine im just not good at this kinda stuff and im Still Not In A Great Mood Due To Recent Events. that too was crazy to leigh like Wait so im not irritating and off-putting and Too Much? you Dont want me to shut up and leave you alone?? and boone was like What. No.

so yeah. it was significant, it felt significant. and clearly it was mutual, cuz boone was ride or die for her pretty much from the beginning. Boone Will Now Die For You. but yeah, it was a Connection. something nice and unexpected and kind of weird to process at first, but they both felt secure in it and quickly grew to be very comfortable around each other. Warriors Bond. leigh just felt really tender about the whole thing. I Really Like You, I Really Trust You. even when they discovered some uhh disagreeable things about each other, that didnt change.

I love pets, so this might be more biased towards having them than not.

Laura: She always had pets, that's a big reason she wanted to go into veterinary medicine. I can see her having a hamster or pet rats in undergrad. When she gets into vet school, she adopts two of the teaching dogs when they retire. By the time she's a full veterinarian, there are like 3 rabbits, two cats, and two dogs in their house. How do they feed them all? Don't question it.

Max: Max grew up with little dogs, and not much else. He now has a small zoo with Laura, see above. His favourite is the big fluffy orange cat they adopted after finding him under their porch with no collar or microchip. They had to shave him down due to mats and then dressed him in little sweaters and Max fell in love.

Dylan: Dylan has Schrodinger, of course. I see him as 100% a cat guy. After the events of the Quarry, he fosters a pregnant cat for a shelter and names all the kittens after famous scientists to keep the theme (Einstein, Oppenheimer, Bohr, Franklin, Curie, etc). He keeps Oppy for himself <3

Ryan: I don't think he grew up with pets, and he wasn't sure if he really wanted any. I can see him inheriting a little Betta fish in a bowl from a roommate in art school, and he researches how to properly care for it. From there he gets into fishkeeping. It starts with that betta in a 3 gallon tank, then 5 gallons, then he gets a 40 breeder off like marketplace for $20 and he discovers live plants and tropical schooling fish. If he and Dylan get together, he spends too much time trying to keep the cats away from his tanks lol

Emma: I'm not sure what Emma would have. Maybe something like an Italian greyhound, it sits in the background of videos like a little derp. Or she ends up rescuing a bunch of mutts from the shelter.

Abi: I can see Abi having a bonded pair of rabbits! Or a medium sized dog like a Labrador Retriever. Something soft and friendly that can help her with her anxiety if she gets overwhelmed at home.

Kaitlyn: I love the idea of Kaitlyn having a big pittie or Rottweiler or Doberman, something with scary dog privilege but is really a big baby

Jacob: He gets a golden retriever because he is a golden retriever boyfriend.

Nick: I think he would have something more exotic, like an iguana or a cockatiel.

The super privileged/maybe kind of arrogant side of me is really unsure about the house. The ceilings are pretty low, for example. And it felt really small.

The disapproving looks of one of my roommates when I said that it's a good choice for now and I probably won't get many other choices. It feels a bit difficult with her, because she earns way more than me and has been living in our current house for at least 10 years. Most people would have left way sooner, but she's extremely frugal about money and has very high standards. So of course this wouldn't be good enough for her, she's waiting for gold. For over 10 years, in which the housing market has really imploded.

I like the bedroom of the new apartment. That's the room that felt convincingly nice. The rest just needs a lot of love and perhaps also getting used to. In the bathroom you can barely stand, lol. The kitchen needs squeezing through, especially since it needs to feature a washing machine. Very crowded and tiny. The living room is very dark and dirty currently. The "garden" is completely bare and sad. But there is potential.

I said yes for the potential and to escape the insecurity of what will happen with my current place. And it's not every day that you win a literal lottery.

I also felt like the universe gave me some signs. There was a really sweet and polite man walking two dogs, clearly rescued, but very well-trained. And a cat that kept wanting to be pet and to be involved with the viewing. Some people in the street had their front doors open for airing out. There seem to be a lot of people who are really into plants. So even though it's not the best neighbourhood and you can hear traffic and there are probably also questionable people, there are also people trying to make the most of it and feeling relatively safe.

So those are good signs.

I talked to T on the phone about it a day before the viewing. She got even more excited than me... which honestly felt scary. She even admitted that she couldn't contain it and was pacing around. So I've been spending a few days super hyper and finding it difficult to eat/sleep/breathe. I also have a lot of work piling up and I hope I'll manage!

hobbies wise i read, i used to do musical theatre and i cook. i do yoga and i collect teas (loose leaf, matchas etc.). i also come from a medical family so my medication cabinet is truly stacked and my friends text me for advice all the time, very much the doctor friend.

love languages, i am big on acts of service/gift giving, i love to cook for my loved ones and i’ll constantly buy little things that remind me of my friends to give to them or lending out books etc. as far as what i would look for i’m not really fussy? pda lowkey makes me cringe (handholding/ holding pinky fingers? ankles hooked around each other? LOVE. also like forehead/cheek kisses but couples that fully make out in public no thanks) so maybe not physical affection, but quality time and words of affirmation probably stand out the most.

Lets fucking go suselle analysis and their narrative weight (bonus kris&ralsei analysis at the end)

susie and noelle are both going through very interesting character arcs: susie is going through the arc of having friends and learning to be vulnerable while also learning that her extreme personality wont scare everyone off. Noelle is going through the arc of learning how to stand up for herself and how to be honest about her interests. Both of them have a shared arc of vulnerability/honesty, but the specifics of their vulnerability/honesty go in opposite directions. Susie has to learn to be honest about her care and compassion for others and noelle has to learn to be open and honest about her love of horror and scary things, but thats just the tip of the iceberg

To get into the specifics we'll start with how noelle will help all of susie's arc as it's pretty obvious and easy to understand. Noelle is naturally very open about her care for those around her, which she'll be able to help susie with in turn. It's going to have an air of "it's okay to have soft mushy feelings because i also have soft mushy feelings". But susie is also very loud and brash, and this isnt going to change. Susie plays up her loudness and brashness because she believes that any amount of loud and brashness will get people to hate her so she might as well be as loud and brash and mean as possible. Noelle, however, is attracted to susie's loud and brashness! We see this a with susie's relationship with lancer, he reacts positively to susie's brashness so she's able to let loose and have fun around him. Noelle will be in a similar situation, but noelle's will likely have a larger impact on susie as noelle isn't loud and brash herself. It's easier to be loud around another loud person, but it's hard to be loud around a quiet person. Luckily, noelle likes being the quiet person to susie's loud person. This will help open susie's mind to the idea that people who may seem unlike susie do not necessarily hate susie. You can be different and still be friends.

How susie helps noelle is a lot less obvious, and this is largely because noelle is so honest about her feelings towards susie. But, i think susie is really going to help noelle by giving her "scary dog" privileges as the kidz on tik tok say. Basically, noelle will have an easier time standing up to scary people/situations because she has a scary person on her side, it'll boost her confidence! She likely will rarely actually need susie to step in and help, but knowing that susie is there to help should things go south will do wonders for noelle's confidence. Furthermore, susie will help noelle be honest about her love of scary things! Because susie has a sort of "lets fucking goooo!!" Attitude, not backing down when she's scared and what not, she'll likely encourage noelle to seek out adrenaline inducing situations. Ironically, i think susie will end up being the true "scaredy cat" between the two of them, as I think susie will be able to snap noelle out of her "deer in headlights" (lol) reaction when needed, but won't assume that noelle doesn't want to do these scary things. We see that rudy thinks noelle's fear is a negative trait and i think he wants her to be able to just stop being scared, but i think susie will be able to recognize that noelle enjoys fear and help her safely engage with those situations (noelle 100% is going to be an adrenaline junkie and susie is going to be her spotter)(also i want them to watch a scary movie and susie is clinging to noelle out of absolutely fear meanwhile noelle is just 👁👁 at the screen)

Now i dont know exactly where the weird route is going but i do think that it's going to put susie into a much more protangonist-like situation (not saying she will be the protagonist but when the primary protagonist is possed by the primary antagonist someone has to step up) and i think it will result in susie rescuing noelle (and kris but uh sorry bud not ur turn yet) from us the player. Susie's theming of being unable to control (literally when we are viewing her adventures alone cant control what she does) and noelle ease of control will collide and susie will free noelle from us and open noelles eyes to. Doing whetever the hell you want.

Now for that kris&ralsei thing, which i only bring up because 1 theorist guy i find entertaining thinks susie should turn down noelle advances bcz he think it would be more compelling and i hope u can see that i disagree. Anyway i think that plot point would be far more interesting for kris and ralsei. Now i said its not a romance thing between kris and ralsei because it's not!! Ralsei doesnt like kris. Lol. Ralsei likes us! I very firmly believe that ralsei is aware of the player and is a little bit too invested in us. Despite knowing that kris and the player are two separate people, he has to use kris as a proxy for his feelings for us and i think that that's part of what he tells kris while we are away looking at susie. Im not sure about the specifics but he is def like "just go along with what i do, we have to make sure the player is happy ok?" But kris is. Obviously made uncomfortable by this?? Ralsei looks like their brother so that's fucked up and I can't imagine watching as your body is used and controlled by another being to engage in a romance with someone who looks like your brother. That's a deeply fucked up situation and i think kris will a) turn down ralsei and b) if the player seemingly reciprocates ralsei's advences kris will shut that shit down. Just stop. Stop. Stop. And i think susie will probably help with that just because she so strongly believes in doing whatever the hell you want. The relationship between kris and ralsei is going to be soooo fucking strained after that and i cannot wait for it. The narrative implications. You are the sacrifical lamb chosen by fate but you do not want to be here vs the most religious guy ever.

Malleus, Yuu invites him to everything. Constant plus 1. He loves it, knows she's not afraid of him at all, and gets to go to things with her. They're like cousins in a way? Like, they have a lot of fun together, but don't see each other as much.

Silver, supportive but very sleepy. Claps every time after Yuu finishes singing a song, but also takes a full body nap if she even remotely sings a ballad.

Sebek, two passionate dorks speak together and hear the other one out. Yuu listens to Sebek about his dedication to Malleus, Yuu gushes about the school's architecture and how she could possibly recreate it for the Ramshackle Dorm.

Lilia, pranksters the both of them. Openly references and sends memes to each other. Will say "owo" unprompted to each other unironically when passing by in the hallway.

Leona, older brother/younger sibling, they're too mean to each other and fight a lot but ultimately have the others back. Sometimes flirt, completely meaningless since it eventually becomes an insult.

Ruggie, "god, rich people-". Solidarity since both are poor, and have been taking care of others basically all their lives. Trades stories: Ruggie talks about his siblings, Yuu talks about her orphanage family.

Jack, scary guard dog privileges, protective friend, big cuddler. Very much a hugger when comfortable with you. Yuu sometimes asks for "uppies" and he does, in fact, carry her like a toddler. It's an elaborate joke, since she's 5'10 and he's probably one of three people who could actually carry her like that without letting her feet touch the floor.

Riddle, cat friend, initiates interactions. Always awkward at the beginning of conversations that eventually become pleasant. Touch starved, will randomly ask for a hand hold. Yuu gives Riddle headpats sometimes, and even though he says he hates it, she can basically hear him purr.

Ace, instigator friendship. Hype each other up to do dumb shit. Says "that's gay" whenever Yuu gives him friendly affection.

Deuce, dumb and dumber friendship. When together, things get stupid. Like him getting stuck on a math problem and Yuu trying to explain it, but she has to increasingly dumb it down to the point that it sounds like a car alarm and Deuce is all like "OH! I GET IT!!" No one understands what they mean, ever.

Trey, older brother/younger sibling relationship. But like, he's actually nice and sometimes lectures Yuu. She takes it only because she knows she did something wrong.

Cater, complete extrovert friend. Will advocate for Yuu to be invited to parties, always has video or photo evidence (for memories and blackmail), and helps Yuu with social media. Part of "beauty nights" with Rook, Yuu, and Vil.

Floyd, puppy friend. Always wants to play, rarely tired, wants to hang out all the time. Yuu indulges him, of course, he has a puppy dog look he does that makes her crack instantly. He knows that and DOES take advantage of it. When she says "no" he gets a little sad but he knows that there's a reason why and not because she hates him or anything.

Jade, secondary instigator friend. Will hype you up AND help you out. Just to see where it goes. Also, casually flirts, but in a "I like to fluster people for fun" kind of way. Yuu just flirts back, everyone kinda gags at them, they do it for fun and fun only.

Azul, cat friend with anxiety. The friend you need to reassure is your friend sometimes. Very sensitive, emotionally literate for everyone but himself. Asks for skin contact when alone or with other friends. Usually hand holding, sometimes a hug.

Epel, complicated. Yuu thinks he's very cute and him wanting to be really cool doubly makes him cuter, Epel wants to be like the suave guy that can sweep her off her feet. Like he's genuinely crushing on her, Yuu has no idea and basically indulges him as if he's a little brother. He can tell, which doubles his efforts, but sometimes he just takes advantage of it and gets like, hugs and headpats and sleeping on her lap and stuff.

Rook, hot goss epicenter. Rook knows all the hot tea, Yuu drinks it. Sure, he's like, super weird and some of the info is coming from a place of stalker tendencies, but a hunter needs a confidant. And who would think someone as helpful and sweet as Yuu would know your dark side?? Ofc Yuu also fact checks the tea, or adds more details that Rook can't get because he's… Rook.

Vil, fashion mentor. Sees Yuu as a "work in progress" and openly gives her things to make her try to look better. Focuses on skin care since that's like the base of a good face, and does always initiate "beauty nights". Yuu appreciates his efforts and always tries to go through with what he recommends. It doesn't always end up being a routine thing.

Kalim, younger sibling/older sibling. HUGS!! Yuu is always being hugged by Kalim, like he will run and hug her when he sees her. A couple of times has insisted on Yuu sitting on Kalim's lap, but has declined every time. Especially because Jamil did NOT look happy about it.

Jamil, they are mortal frenemies. Yuu and Jamil go back and forth back and forth on how Kalim is treating her. He insists that she should stop him from being so clingy, and she insists that he should back off and let Kalim do what he wants. Like they argue about boundaries all the time, but she will always ask him to help her when she needs to take a break from the constant bubbly cute energy. Like they kind of trade Kalim around like a Pokemon card.

(Leading to Mia getting kicked out of the bedroom), and Mia just doesn't understand. Because when the "other" cats do stuff like that Miranda doesn't get mad.

She also doesn't understand why she's the only one who spends all day outside tied in the yard.

I find actually find Dorcas to be a very strong character. She's willing to drop her friends because what they were doing was very fucked up (lets be honest, joining a terrorist group isn't the most yk morally good thing)

(Just a heads up, if it isn't obvious in this rant. I don't think that Barty, Evan, or Regulus were forced into joining the DE, but this ain't about them rn)

From this thought, I think that Dorcas believed that her friends were strong enough to turn away from their families' bigoted views but in the end, once she found out that they couldn't, it was a lost cause in her eyes.

It's like a friend going back to their toxic ex or trying to help someone who doesn't want to be helped. That's kinda how I view it.

Dorcas is strong in the sense that she knows when they can't be helped, these were her friends for at least 6-7 years. For that long of period, a lot of people would struggle to turn their back on someone they want to "save" in hopes it would get better. I don't think she was like "Maybe I could undo this." She recognized a lost cause and left, and I think that's very good for her.

And, going back to dropping her friends. She dropped a 6-7 year friendship to be the good side, she was brave enough to give up a long and deep friendship to fight for what was right. However, I don't think she ever got super close to any of the Order members (except Marlene), because, in the end, she did end up losing her close friends (and Pandora too, that's a whole other thing though), she will be upset and she will mourn what could've been between her friends.

Dorcas knows that her friends have their families pulling them back, but she also knows that it's up to them to try and break away, and when they don't she sticks by her morals (which yk not killing ppl based on blood-type shit), and she ups and leaves. And I think it was the best she could've done for herself.

Throwing that aside. In happier times, she was the girl whose mind was constantly going. I imagine her as a quick thinker and someone who processes stuff in her head very quickly. She wanted to be an actress and had a bunch of movie star posters up on her wall and perfected her singing and voice control. Painting and analyzing was a skill she honed for many years. She was probably the most reasonable one in the Pantheon and the most down to Earth.

She wasn't social but she didn't shy away from interactions, she wasn't violent but she was willing to fight, and she wasn't overconfident but she knew what she owed or deserved.

But that didn't mean she didn't have flaws. She lashes out at the Order because she lost her friends, she is envious of the Marauders, of Marlene (I do believe, like every other relationship, their relationship was the rocks during the war) because all her friends are fighting for Muggle-borns, she views her friends as weak for giving in to their families so quickly without fighting back, she's stubborn and finds it hard to admit when she's wrong, she's competitive, and she can be harsh with her words that it feels as if she stabbed a dagger into unfatal area and left you to bleed.

SO! Her animagus, I think should've been a tiger, an animal that guides one to their inner wisdom and symbolizes strength
