PAIGE THINKS she might be in love with Jo Jacobson.
Not like that, of course. It’s not romantic, not even close. It’s more of an “I think this person is becoming my favorite human” kind of thing. Paige can’t really explain it, but there’s just something about Jo—and these past three weeks of living together have only solidified it.
From the first night in their shared apartment, when they’d sat on the couch in their living room in awkward silence, to now, where there’s never really any silence at all, one of them constantly talking the others ears off like they’ve known each other forever. Paige has always been the kind of person to warm up to others quickly, her extroverted energy practically bursting out of her, but Jo? Jo’s a little quieter, slightly more reserved. She’s not shy by any means, but there’s a certain softness to her that makes Paige want to protect her from anything and everything.
Paige adores that softness. Jo’s the kind of person who makes you feel calm just by being near her, like she has this invisible aura that radiates peace. She’s always smiling—bright and genuine, like she’s just happy to be here, happy to exist. Paige can’t help but smile back whenever Jo’s around. It’s infectious, really.
Truthfully, their personalities shouldn’t blend as well as they do—Paige’s loud, chaotic voice nervy should theoretically overwhelm Jo’s somewhat quieter demeanor—but somehow, it works. They’ve fallen into this easy rhythm of teasing each other, sharing random late-night thoughts, and laughing until their stomachs hurt over the dumbest things.
Like last week, when Jo walked in on Paige attempting to balance her basketball on her head for no reason other than she was bored. Instead of questioning it, Jo just laughed so hard she almost fell over, and then proceeded to try it herself. They spent the next several minutes in a competition over who could balance it the longest, which, for the record, Jo totally won. Paige pretended to be mad, but she wasn’t. She was too busy fighting back a grin as she watched Jo laugh loudly, making an L with her fingers and putting it right in front of Paige’s face.
Paige doesn’t know if she’s pushing it, but it’s been a while since she’s felt this connected to someone so quickly. Yes, she has her circle of close friends on the team—Azzi, Nika, Caroline, the list goes on—but there’s something different about Jo. Something special. Maybe it’s the way Jo listens so intently when Paige is ranting about some random topic. Or the way she’s always down to join Paige for a late-night shooting session, no questions asked. Or maybe it’s just the way Jo seems to understand Paige, even without her having to say much at all.
And don’t even get Paige started on their on-court chemistry. It’s almost ridiculous how well they mesh. They’re both natural point guards, which should make things complicated, but instead, it’s like they just get each other. During practices and scrimmages, it feels like Paige always knows where Jo is without having to look, and vice versa. They’ve perfected this unspoken language of no-look passes and perfectly timed cuts, and it’s perfect. Paige is convinced that when the season starts in November, they’re going to be unstoppable.
Today, they’re matched up against each other in their five-on-five, full-court scrimmage. Paige thrives in this environment, where the game is fast and physical, where every decision has to be made in a split second.
Right now, though, Jo is making Paige work.
Jo has the ball at the top of the key, her dribble steady and deliberate as she surveys the court. Paige crouches low in her defensive stance, her arms extended, her gaze locked on Jo’s every move. Jo’s face is calm, composed, but Paige can see the wheels turning. She’s looking for an opening, one Paige isn’t about to give her.
“Whatchu got, JoJo?” the blonde teases, voice light but goading.
Jo doesn’t take the bait, hardly even glancing at her, but Paige can see the corner of her mouth twitch like she’s fighting back a smile. It’s enough to make Paige grin, but she quickly suppresses it. She tells herself to focus.
Jo dribbles to her right, testing Paige’s reaction. Paige shifts with her, staying low and quick on her feet. Jo pivots, fakes left, then spins back to her right, her movements so smooth and seamless that Paige almost gets caught off guard. Almost.
The blonde recovers quickly, sliding her feet to cut Jo off, and the two of them are chest to chest now, close enough that Paige can hear Jo’s steady breathing. “Come on, freshie,” Paige whispers lowly, smirking, her tone playful but challenging.
Jo still doesn’t respond, focus unshakeable, not the type to yap on the court. She steps back, creating just enough space to pull up for a three. Paige jumps to contest, her hand outstretched, but the ball is already in the air. It arcs perfectly, hitting nothing but net.
As Jo lands, she jogs backward, prepared to get back on defense. But as she catches Paige’s eye, she sticks her tongue out at her. The gesture is quick, cheeky, and it makes Paige shake her head, biting back a grin. “Okay,” she mutters under her breath, “I see you.”
And she does. God, does she see her—and, God, does she understand why Jo was the number one recruit in the nation.
The next possession, Paige has the ball. She brings it up the court with that signature strut in her step, the kind that says she knows she’s about to make something happen. Jo’s in front of her, her stance low and her eyes locked on Paige like she’s dating her to try something.
Paige smirks. She loves a challenge.
She dribbles left, then crosses over to her right, her movements sharp and quick. Jo stays with her, her defense tight, and Paige feels a flicker of frustration. Jo’s good—really good. It’s annoying, but also exciting. Paige thrives on competition, and Jo is proving to be one of the best matchups she’s had in a while.
Paige steps back, her dribble steady, and sizes Jo up. She tilts her head for a second, blue eyes locked on brown. And then, in a flash, she’s driving to the basket, using her speed to get a step on Jo.
But Jo recovers fast, her arms reaching out to contest as Paige goes for the layup. The ball rolls off the backboard and through the net, and Paige lands with a triumphant grin. She turns to Jo, who’s already jogging back to the other end of the court.
“Close,” Paige calls after her. “But not close enough.”
Jo doesn’t say anything, just glances over her shoulder with a knowing smile that makes Paige’s chest tighten.
The scrimmage continues, and it’s a back-and-forth between Paige and Jo’s teams. On offense, Jo’s movements are deliberate and precise, her passes crisp and her shot deadly. Her connection with Dorka is impressive, the brunette getting past Paige’s defense too many times for her liking, sending the Hungarian dime after dime. On defense, Jo’s relentless, always in Paige’s space, always making her work for every point. And it only gets worse when Nika and Jo double-team her, two of the best defenders on their team.
But Paige gives as good as she gets. She uses her quickness and court vision to set up her teammates, threading passes through tight spaces and hitting open shooters. She drives to the basket with her usual confidence, finishing through contact.
At one point, Paige gets the ball on the wing, Jo right in front of her. She dribbles a few times, rocking back and forth like she’s deciding what to do. Then, with a sudden burst of speed, she blows past Jo and pulls up for a mid-range jumper. The hall swishes through the net, and Paige can’t help but shoot Jo a quick, cocky grin as she hits back on defense.
Jo shakes her head, her own smile breaking through despite herself. “Not bad,” she says softly, just loud enough for Paige to hear.
“Not bad?” Paige echoes, feigning offense. “That was textbook.”
Jo just laughs a little, her eyes crinkling at her corners, and Paige feels the need to fight back one of her own. She shoves it down, focusing on the game, but the need is there, lingering, buzzing at the edges of her thoughts.
By the end of the scrimmage, both of them are drenched in sweat, their faces flushed from exertion. Jo’s team wins by a single point, thanks to a clutch three she drains in Paige’s face.
As they walk off the court, Paige shakes her head, a mix of frustration and admiration swirling in her chest. “You’re lucky I like you,” she says, bumping Jo’s shoulder with her own.
Jo grins, glowing with the face of someone who’s just won. “You just can’t handle the face that I’m better than you,” she teases, nudging her back.
Paige laughs, rolling her eyes. “Oh, yeah, keep dreaming ‘bout that one.”
But as they head to the locker room, Paige can’t stop the smile that tugs at her lips. There’s something so effortless about it all—like Jo’s meant to be here, meant to be Paige’s teammate, her roommate, her
 quickly-growing-maybe-soon-best-friend?
Paige thinks back to one of their conversations a few nights ago. Jo had been sitting cross-legged on the couch, scrolling through her phone while Paige was sprawled on the floor, eating Hot Cheetos, not paying any attention to the Grey’s Anatomy episode that was playing on the TV. They two of them had been talking about everything and nothing—summer classes, music, how gross Amari’s pasta was that she made the night prior. At one point, Jo had said something about how surreal it still felt to be here, with everyone, preparing to play Connecticut basketball.
Paige had looked up at her then, really looked at her, and felt this overwhelming sense of pride for someone she’s only known for a few weeks. Jo deserved to be here. She deserved every bit of success coming her way, and Paige couldn’t wait to see it all unfold.
And Paige thinks that again now, as they walk side by side, knowing how much Jo Jacobson’s managed to make herself matter to Paige within a few measly weeks. Once again, not in a romantic way—because Jo’s in love with that boy, and it’s looking like she’s about as straight as they come—but in a way that feels just as significant. Jo isn’t just her teammate or her roommate. She’s almost like her person, or at least, she’s quickly becoming something of the sort.
JO WAKES UP groggy, her body tangled in sheets that suddenly feel too warm. Her head pounds slightly, though not from drinking—she’d been stone-cold sober last night. No, her headache stems from the distinct lack of sleep caused loud, unmistakable sounds that had her burying her head under her pillow to drown them out. She stretches out in bed, her limbs tangling in the sheets as her brain sluggishly catches up to the morning.
The muffled, rhythmic noises that had bled through the thin apartment walls are still fresh in her memory, making her cringe and laugh all at once. Paige has been away some nights due to certain
 activities
but yesterday was the first time she brought the activities home. Jo groans, dragging a hand over her face.
She grabs her phone off the nightstand, squinting at the brightness of the screen. 11:07 AM. Too late to justify staying in bed any longer but not quite late enough to feel and about sleeping in. With a sigh, she swings her legs over the side, her bare feet hitting the cold floor.
The idea of a run floats into her mind—something to shake off the sleep-deprivation gaze and clear her head. She pads over to her dresser, grabbing her tiny back Lululemon shorts that are probably a little too short for decency and a snug tank top that clings to her in all the right ways. She catches a glimpse of herself in the mirror as she ties her hair into a ponytail. Good enough.
If it was any other day, she’d knock on Paige’s door and ask if she wants to come along. They’ve started running together some mornings, and Paige’s competitive streak always makes it fun. But this morning, she doesn’t even consider it.
Jo knows Paige had company last night. Loud company. She rolls her eyes just thinking about it, fighting off a smirk. Paige wasn’t exactly subtle, and Jo doesn’t need the details to know what went down in the room across the hall. Whoever the girl was probably slept over, and the last thing Jo wants is to walk into Paige’s room and catch them in some awkward post-hookup moment.
With a sigh, she leaves her room and heads to the kitchen. The apartment is quiet now, a contrast to last night. Jo opens the fridge, pulling out what she needs to make herself a smoothie. As she gathers them, she shakes her head, still bemused by Paige’s complete lack of shame. It’s not like Jo’s a prude—she’s in a long-term relationship herself—but Paige’s ability to just
live her life so unapologetically is both baffling and oddly admirable.
Jo starts piling everything into the blender, her movements slow and deliberate as her tired bran catches up with her body. The faint hum of the apartment feels peaceful—until she hears the quiet freak of a door behind her.
Jo turns, expecting Paige, but her eyes widen slight at the sight of that greets her instead.
Celeste Sinclair.
The team’s media girl.
Jo blinks, not quite believing her eyes. Celeste looks like she’s just stumbled out of a damn tornado. Her fiery red hair sticks up in every possible direction, and her oversized T-shirt is unmistakably inside out. Her cheeks are flushed—whether from embarrassment or something else, Jo isn’t sure—and she’s moving with the caution of someone who really doesn’t want to be noticed.
Well, too late for that.
Jo bites the inside of her cheek to keep herself from outright laughing. Of all people, Paige chose her? It’s not like Jo’s judging—she’s not. But the sheer audacity of Paige hooking up with the team’s media girl is enough to make Jo want to burst out laughing. Like, she knows Paige is kind-of unapologetically a slut, but damn.
Celeste freezes when she sees Jo, her eyes widening like a deer caught in headlights. For a long moment, neither of them says anything, the awkward tension hanging thick in the air.
Finally, Jo decides to break the silence. “Hi, Celeste,” she says slowly, keeping her tone light and her smile as kind as possible. She’s not about to be rude—that’s not who she is—but the situation is so ridiculous it takes every ounce of self-control to not smirk, let alone cackle at the girl before her.
“Hi, Jo,” Celeste replies, her voice barely above a whisper. She shifts awkwardly, clearly mortified with the whole situation.
Jo glances back at the blender, pretending to focus on it to give Celeste a moment to collect herself. “Um
” Jo begins, trying to think of something to say that won’t make this worse. Keeping her tone as genuine as possible, she gestures to the blender and asks, “Do you want a smoothie?”
Celeste’s eyes widen even more, and she shakes her head so fast her hair bounces. “Thanks, but um—I’ve got to go,” she says, her words tumbling out in a rush. Without waiting for a response, she bolts for the door like her life depends on it.
It clicks shut behind her, and the apartment falls silent again. For a moment, Jo just stands there, staring at the spot where Celeste had been.
And then she loses it.
Jo leans over the counter, her forehead pressing against her folded arms as laughter shakes from her shoulder. She turns the blender on as she tries to stifle it, the sound of the mixing swallowing the sound of Jo’s giggles. The entire situation—the ungodly loud moans from last night, Celeste’s walk of shame, the inside-out shirt—is just too ridiculous.
She barely registers the sound of Paige’s door opening again until her roommate’s voice cuts through the hum of the blender.
“You gotta be doin’ that right now?” Paige asks groggily, her words slow and raspy from sleep.
Jo lifts her head slightly, peeking out between her fingers to see Paige standing there, rubbing her eyes with one hand and bracing herself against the doorframe with the other. Her hair is tied up in a messy bun at the nape of her neck, strands falling loose around her face. She’s wearing plaid pajama pants that hang low on her lips and a black Nike sports bra, her toned arms and midriff catching the faint morning light streaming through the blinds.
Jo doesn’t answer right away, partly because she’s still laughing and partly because her gaze catches on the faint purple mark blooming on the side of Paige’s neck.
That does it. Jo’s face drops back into her hands as another wave of laughter overtakes her, her shoulders shaking with the force of it.
“What’s funny?” Paige asks, her voice tinged with curiosity and laced with a tired, small smile that tugs at the corners of her lips. She crosses her arms loosely over her chest, leaning against the doorway as she watches Jo with a bemused expression.
It takes Jo a full minute to catch her breath. When she finally looks up, her cheeks ache from smiling, and her stomach feels sore from laughing so hard. She swipes at the corner of her eye, blinking away the last remnants of her amusement before finally answering.
“Celeste is crazy, P,” the brunette says, shaking her head as if she can’t quite believe it herself.
The effect is immediate. A pink flush creeps up Paige’s neck and into her cheeks, the color depending as she straightens up slightly. Her arms uncross, and she fidgets, her fingers curling against the hem of her pajama pants.
“You saw her?” Paige asks, her voice quieter now, almost hesitant. For a brief moment, Jo notices something she doesn’t usually associate with Paige: embarrassment. It’s subtle, but it’s there, a flicker of vulnerability in the way Paige avoids her eyes and rubs the back of her neck. It surprises Jo—the blonde has never seemed particularly guilty when discussing her extracurricular activities with their teammates, so why would this be any different?
“Heard her, too,” Jo says, her grin threatening to split her face. Her tone is teasing, light, but she doesn’t miss the way Paige’s blush deepens. Jo can’t resist pushing it just a little further. She leans forward, putting on her best mock-whiny impression of Celeste, and moans dramatically, “Paige! Oh, Paige, don’t stop!”
Paige’s eyes immediately widen in horror, and her mouth drops open in indignation. “Shut up!” she exclaims, grabbing the nearest thing she can find—Jo’s stuffed animal, Bubbles—and tossing it at her with as much force as she can muster.
Jo catches it with ease, still laughing as she hugs the plush turtle to her chest, feigning offense. “Hey! Don’t be throwing Bubbles like that,” she pouts, sticking her lower lip out in exaggerated mockery.
Paige rolls her eyes, muttering something under her breath as she shuffles toward the counter. She drops onto one of the barstools, her elbows propped up on the surface as she buries her face in her hands for a moment. When she looks up again, she’s rubbing the back of her neck awkwardly.
“Sorry,” she says softly, her voice tinged with genuine guilt. “I thought you’d be asleep.”
Jo arches a brow, her amusement softening into incredulity. “Literally nothing could’ve put me to sleep during that,” she deadpans, turning back to the blender and shutting it off.
Paige straightens up slightly, defensive now. “Well, you’ve always got your fuckin’ noise machine so loud. I thought that might drown it out!”
Jo shakes her head, still grinning. “Nothing could’ve drowned that girl out, P.” Her tone is teasing, but there’s no malice behind it. She doesn’t actually care—not really.
Paige frowns, mumbling, “Sorry,” again as she picks at the edge of the counter.
Jo places Bubbles down gently, her smile softening. “It’s okay,” she says, and she means it. Jo isn’t the type to hold grudges, especially not over something as silly as this. Besides, Paige’s bashfulness is almost endearing—it’s not a side of her Jo sees often.
She pours the smoothie into two glasses, sliding one across the counter toward Paige before taking a sip of her own. The cool, fruity flavor is refreshing, cutting through the heaviness of the morning.
“Get changed,” Jo says after a moment, her tone light and commanding. She flashes Paige a cheeky, sunshine-stained smile. “We’re going on a run.”
Paige groans, leaning back dramatically. “Do we have to?”
“Yes,” Jo replies, her grin widening. She lifts her glass in a mock toast before adding, “And you’re paying for my post-run cake pop.”
That earns her another groan and a half-hearted glare from Paige, but Jo knows she’s already won. The promise of Starbucks is enough to get Paige moving, even if she grumbles the whole way there.

For StungKnight, would you have Blake and Yang already together and then they hook up with Jaune and make it a throuple. Or would Blake and Yang be individually interested in Jaune, confess separately and he tells them the other has confessed and the girls decide to come together and be with him together.
And when they're together how would their relationship dynamic be like? Jaune the one in charge and the girls take a submissive role?
Okay so I've toyed with this idea a few times, the way it can go are...
1.) Post Vol 9, Blake and Yang begin to realize they want a male in the mix. And outta all the cannidates the fact that Jaune is Blake's literal childhood husbando and that he stayed with Yang's sister when she couldn't (And has never once used Ruby to get to her or leered at her like most guys would) kinda makes him their top choice (Also he is the anti-Adam and the king himbo)
2.) Also Post Vol 9, Blake and Yang are having relationship troubles, this is because both girls are bi, and Yang is quick to anger and Blake tends to be quiet about her issues till it's too late. This results in the pair every once in a while getting into fights... Fights that their teammates want no part in.
Unfortunately... Jaune has plenty of experience with getting between two girls fighting thanks to his sisters. And so always has to act as mediator, thankfully several decades (At least) in a maddening twisted world like the EverAfter means that he has a good amount of experience in dealing with incredibly emotional situations and he has the aura to tank either girl when they act out.
Eventually the pair starts to emotionally rely on Jaune and then get pissed whenever he starts dating someone... And well the two can easily put two and two together from there and decide for their relationships mental and emotional health Jaune needs to be Stung.
3.) Vol 2/3, after getting closer to his friends Jaune does a bit of info searching on Raven using his sisters to see if they can find out anything. Tells the brawler what he found out, clearly says that her moms a bandit and honestly giving birth to Yang and leaving her the hell alone where probably the only two good things she ever did. Yang would lash out, punch Jaune and leave. But Jaune would understand that he did just put a lot on her and let it go and after she cools down Yang would thank him.
Coincidentally too, after Blake reveals she's a Faunus who was part of the White Fang Jaune would put two and two together and contact her estranged parents. Weather they come to physically visit her or simply send a letter Jaune would confront her and appeal to the Belladonna to reconnect to her family because as someone from a large family he understands how important they are.
And while at first Blake is rather defensive she does become incredibly grateful after her parents hash things out with her. and more so when Jaune really doesn't think he did anything special.
The two proceed to like Jaune ask him out and almost turn rival over it but whether through Nora intervening or something decide to team up
4.) Volume 9 (Mainly for shits and giggles....) After Jaune reveals himself to be her literally first crush, main star of many a puberty stricken Blake's wet dream the young Belladonna finds herself suddenly very attached to Jaune.
Very in agreement with Pyrrha's views back in Beacon and suddenly oddly defensive against Weiss for the way she said 'Mature' Emotional issue with Yang? What emotional issue with Yang. She had no probably walking across said bridge...
And now Blake is realizing how Adam, Illia, Sun and Yang all felt a odd obsession over her because her's is now focused on Jaune. And that leaves Yang with a choice, get pissed and pull a Adam which she knew Blake wouldn't like.
Get Depressed grab some tea and Pull a Ruby before Ruby even does.
Or take a page outta her mother's book, no not the biological one (Raven), the sloppy seconds one (Summer).

Okay, after some further reflection, I would say Dirk is the type of person who would likely have OSDD while Dave is the one to develop DID. SO here's my thoughts on Dave Strider having Dissociative Identity Disorder. I'm a lil hung over, but enjoy my ramblings.
Tumblr media
Dave would struggle to connect with other alters I think. As the present host through teen years and young adulthood (before gaining a diagnosis or revelation of his issues), Dave would probably just view his alters' names as a list of nicknames. Hell, that's what I went through until I was 21 and a half or something. He brushes off the severity of how his childhood effected him. He thinks his list of nicknames is just some odd way he switches things up once in a while. But then he starts to realize... there's memory gaps? And things are kind of blurry sometimes. He can connect the dots, but he has no idea he's asking to go by a different name more often but only for extended periods. Once he finally lays everything out for Rose, she's the one that finally catches on, letting him know he probably has Dissociative Identity Disorder.
Dave has other alters than his main 5, but they're fragments and struggle to be identified for a long time.
Dave- He/It. General host, the typical Dave most know. Very ironic and makes a joke out of a lot of things. Dave jokes it's a nonbinary-cisgender person- "for the irony" he says Davie- He/Him. Repressed child core alter, somewhere between 6-8 years old mentally. He's dormant for a long time until Dave starts working through his childhood trauma and when Davie first fronts, it's a mess for everyone involved because he has no idea where he is. Rose has to walk June or Karkat through calming him over the phone. Davie knows who Dirk and Roxy are, but only ever calls Roxy mom or dad. She makes him feel safe. Sprite- They/Them. They have this peculiar love for crows, makes a few bird puns here and there. They seem to be more depressed than the other alters. Or at least more regularly depressed. They get along rather well with Dirk's AR system and have been caught a few times purposely having conversations with Lil Hal for personal comfort. They like Jade a lot, takes interest in her furry stuff. However, his semi-negative attribute is that he's similar to a self-destructive persecutor alter because he's rather defensive sometimes and will stop things or break things off before they can get too bad. He's purposefully started fights with June and Karkat before to try pushing them away. Lizzy- She/Her. She picks her name from Dave's own middle name (Elizabeth). I say she becomes the main host later in life, but she's also terrified of being rejected by the world. The idea of openly transitioning is scary and when the system is reaching success in the film industry in their late 20s/early 30s, she thinks it's too late and struggles with that. Out of all the alters, she masks herself fronting the most once the system is aware of itself. She shares some of Davie's memories and the offensive way in which she was raised by Bro makes her feel bad about herself sometimes. Alpha- He/Him. Mentally older than Dave the host. Works somewhat as a caretaker and protector in the system. He's beyond monotone and doesn't react much to things. However, if someone does the system wrong, Alpha is the one who loses his cool and calls the person out. He focuses on taking care of and regulating Davie, though also feels nurturing emotions for Lizzy.

I made some up-dates to a few of Junonia's outfits, and also finally got a more detailed picture of her face finished, so here she is with Poppy again! I had a general idea of what her vibe was, but after thinking about her a little more, I wanted to show more aspects of her personality in the outfits. Some casual looks, a few a little fancy. Poppy's style leans a little boho, with a splash of sporty here and there (here armor is mostly white with tan accents, so she has lots of different rosy-brown tones in her outfits). Junonia has a more casual-elegant style, not formal exactly, but lots of feminine/chic clothing, and few different comfy looks (her armor is dark purple with pink accents, so those colors show up in her clothes).
More info for them below~
Junonia is tall and chubby, but not very curvy. She has sharp and elegant features for her jawline and cheekbones (very pretty and striking). She uses a mobility aid, a cane and some knee braces that help ease stress. She has a cane with her armor as well, but it's more high-tech, and doubles as a weapon, while the suit itself helps compensate stress on her knees (the idea of having a character who needs mobility aids, specifically canes, actually came from seeing a different character from another series; the character used them in a civilian form, but when fighting bad guys, they just magically could walk fine... I thought, hey; sci-fi magic is involved, why not just give them a SUPER COOL cane, that can adapt to their needs in battle and what-not! so, I transferred this thought process to Junonia. the high-tech one can automatically fold-up into a gauntlet when she's sitting, and has several other adjustments, making it like multi-tool). Her armor would be dark-purple with pink accents.
She has two prominent tattoos; around her neck/collarbone is a design of a gold chain, pearls, and a seashell. On her arm is a design of a seahorse, with the tail wrapped around her wrist (the way they sometimes hold on to rocks with their tails~). She has most of her hair pulled back, in box braids (they are short on one side, getting longer as it goes to the other side, in an asymmetrical line).
Part of her story involved getting tricked into working for an organization that claimed to help people without being "restricted" by government rules... which is a cool idea in theory, but unfortunately, the people in charge of this group were insidious a-holes. Junonia was in charge of gathering intel, a medic for her team, and occasionally helping with defensive fighting (not that she isn't perfectly capable in any forms of battle, but she's a bit like Doc, not entirely a pacifist, but reserves violence as a last resort, or to defend herself/others).
When the organization began to fall apart, including the people running the show trying to take out the underlings to erase evidence, Junonia got out of there quick and hid under the radar for a while... more recently, she's been involved with helping people find resources for recovery, and she's also gotten back into her habit of collecting information (like what happened to other people in her group, and where the ones responsible for the problems are hiding).
Junonia is generally a calm and graceful person, but she's also VERY clever, and can have an icy form of anger when dealing with somebody unpleasant. She's a very determined problem-solver, thinking about WHY people do what they do, and understands how to win either by making peace, using force, or simply not engaging in a pointless struggle. She takes set-backs or sudden changes in stride, adapting quick and easily. She's very compassionate, but doesn't compromise in specific situations. Junonia doesn't trust most authority groups, but she still believes in trusting PEOPLE; even after all the difficult things she's faced, Junonia isn't a pessimist, instead having hope that doing good will really make a difference (creating harmony and balance, in big and small ways).
Within the group, she's something like a "reverse" of Carolina, without being an adversary/antagonist. She has the same level of tenacity as well, but more tempered (if Carolina is a bit hot-headed, Junonia is more cool). It's a bit ironic, because she knows about all the others, and at first some of them wonder if this will somehow be "uneven", but Junonia is open to sharing facts about herself, and it's very easy to enjoy/accept her companionship.
She grew up being fascinated by sea creatures, but never got to visit the ocean until she was an adult. When she was hiding, she finally was able to find places to live by the water (mostly around the west coast and Alaska), and worked on putting all her knowledge of marine life into practice. Junonia has a lot of crafting hobbies, but also knows how to create intricate designs with different forms of weaving/knitting/crochet. Junonia also enjoys making loose watercolor illustrations (and has entertained the idea of maybe working on children's books one day). She really likes horror and action/adventure movies. She's in her late 30s, and is a trans lesbian. Her background is Mediterranean (Maltese and Greek), African (Ethiopian), and Native American (Navajo).
Poppy is short, with a fairly thick and solid build, and square features that are still soft. Poppy didn't actually "join" the army. She was "selected" to be part of a "special training program", which turned out to be tricking poor and homeless people into working at dangerous outposts. When one area was getting attacked, a lot of the people running the show took escape ships for themselves. Poppy was able to find a set of armor, and now looking "official", she helped guide all the people who would have been abandoned to safety. When she got them all to a rescue ship, a soldier asked if she had been in charge of that outpost. She basically pretended that, yes- she TOTALLY was the boss. Yep. Hired herself, and gave herself a promotion. Before she could back out or escape, she was thrown into a new "assignment". Whoops!
She was then sent to a different group of Red and Blue Flag Zealots, meant to identify needed supplies and order more ammunition. She was designated "neutral", and had white armor with tan accents. When the teams ran out of bullets, they kept fighting in non-lethal ways, which Poppy thought was preferable to a clearly pointless war, so she just never put in the order for more. Both teams considered her a friend, playfully fighting over who's side she was on. After a dangerous incident left her knocked-out and recovering, Temple's group arrived to recruit more Sim Troopers. Poppy's group refused to join. When she woke up, they were all gone, and she had to work on making cybernetics for herself. Because she's still considered part of the Flag Zealots, the UNSC decided to throw her back into a new training program (which was actually pretty shady in terms of motives), and that's where she meets Sarge.
Poppy is meant to sort of mirror Simmons. The fact that Sarge likes her, and she's a nerd, SHOULD make Simmons hate her guts... but after one conversation, he internally just clicked with her- "Oh, sibling? Sibling!". Also, she and Simmons are trans in opposite directions (Poppy never cared much about having surgery, but she always wanted really long hair). Oh- and with white armor, the prophecy of Red Team being the lesbian flag has been fulfilled!
Poppy’s got a bit of a “cheerfully dismissive” attitude when she’s not in a mood to deal with somebody. She also likes making people laugh, and when she’s really close to them, she tries to be a source of comfort (she's very good at somehow saying just the right little compliment, something short and sweet that makes somebody's day~). She’s got a temper brewing under there, though (she can shout and rant with the best of them, but you really need to worry if she’s coming after you quietly).
For the most part, Poppy is easy-going (because she’s been through a LOT, and knows what she’s capable of), and pretty quick with sarcastic little comments. She also feels her painful emotions VERY deeply, and freely cries when upset... but that doesn't stop her from beating-down on a bad-guy (and it is honestly unnerving to get your but-kicked from somebody who is clearly sobbing; you hurt her feelings, now she's hurting your face). One of her skills is messing with audio communication, and her favorite trick is to play annoying songs as a distraction. She also loves music, and usually "thinks in song", either using audio tech to play actual songs, or using her imagination to play it in her head (not only to set the mood, but it helps her focus, and keep a "rhythm" with her physical actions). Her favorite movie is the Last Unicorn. Poppy's background is Irish and Spanish.

Hi!!! Hope you're doing well. I really like your headcanons. You make the character voices really shine through in your writing, it's very satisfying to read 😌 also they're very sweet
So in the spirit of being fun, cute and silly, are the main 6 ticklish? How do they deal with a Tav that initiates tickle fights? (Or just. Attacks. Depending on their disposition i guess). Type your words writing one
Hello to you too! Tysm dhdhdh- I’m glad my silly little ramblings reach people’s brains <3
I shall type my writing words now u.u
Bg3 Companions: Ticklish?
Lae’zel would immediately clock what you’re doing as either an attempt to catch her off guard in an attack, or a spar, depending on how close you are. So much as attempt to start a tickle fight with her, and you’re going to be wrestling on the ground within moments. She does not understand the concept at first, which makes it a bit awkward the first time you do it, as you find your legs swept from under you and your back against the ground almost immediately. After taking a moment to try and explain no, you weren’t attacking her, she
still doesn’t entirely get it. Forcing laughter out of someone? Perhaps an efficient torture method for her to store in her mind for later. Phrase it as a ‘tickle fight,’ though, and well, she must master this new form of combat, of course. She is a bit ticklish, but you really have to target the right places, and
you don’t have many chances before she just demolishes you. It’s the lighter traces along her scars, or in the softer skin of her elbows and behind her knees. She also has to be comfortable enough with you to actually let herself laugh- otherwise she’ll just stifle it as to not show weakness. Or restrain you before you can even get the chance. Regardless, you will get utterly wrecked in any attack you try to make.
Astarion hates the idea of it, at least initially. He doesn’t like being forced to do anything, and especially lacking control over his own body/reactions. Any surprise attacks, especially from behind, immediately get him on the defensive- he’ll act all snarky and give disapproving clicks of his tongue, trying to cover up the fact that he just flinched pretty noticeably away from your hands. It isn’t until much later down the line, once he’s started healing a bit from his trauma, that he’d possibly enjoy it. Even then, it’s light, and expected. Little scribbles against his sides as you two are walking, or teasingly behind his ear is you’re cupping his cheek. His neck, especially where his bite mark from Cazador is, is off-limits. Brings up bad memories. But laying in bed, snugly against each other, tracing light lines along his sides and chest, tickling enough to have him all smiley without forcing full-on laughter out of him? That’s great. Helping him adjust to non-sexual forms of intimacy.
Gale. This man is definitely ticklish. I think there’s literally a line about it in-game if my memory serves correct. Now, is trying to sneak up on him and tickle him while he has the Netherese Orb in his chest a good idea? Debatable. He’d definitely make several comments through his laughter about it being a horrid idea to target the man who could level a town with such an assault, though he’d be laughing so hard it might not be all that comprehensible. Tara has definitely taken advantage of his ticklishness to get him out of fixating on things from time to time, nuzzling pointedly against his neck until he agrees to put a book down. I can imagine him being in the middle of some long-winded explanation, having gotten way off track from the initial conversation, and to get him to stop you just reach over and scribble a few fingers against his neck, making him squawk in protest and scrunch up his shoulders. He’d likely retaliate using a mage hand, poking at you during unassuming moments during the day and pretending to be intently focused on something else when you turn to him with knowing eyes. Hm? Oh, no, it definitely wasn’t him. He’s been looking at this rock the whole time! Now, fun fact about rocks- hey, get that hand away!
Karlach is an absolute tickling monster. At least, once she has her touch back. She’ll take any excuse to get close to people, so spontaneous tickle fights? Absolutely. Not only will she go along with it, but she’ll spring at you when you least expect it as well. She has the strength to push you away or take control easily, but oftentimes doesn’t use her full strength for the sake of fun. Her tail will be wagging as she laughs openly, not even trying to hide her enjoyment as you both tousle around on the ground. If she laughs too hard with the engine, it might still flare, but hey, just adds to the fun, right, soldier?
either way, maybe keep it under control. Will want to cuddle afterwards, especially if you both end up on the ground. She’ll definitely sneak some little tickles in there as well as you lay there afterwards. When you look at her with playful accusation, she’ll swear that was the last time with a too-wide grin on her face that tells you she’s lying.
Shadowheart would be caught off-guard the first time it happens, snorting with laughter and shoving the offending hands away. She’d act annoyed, but be secretly impressed that you even had the nerve. At times that she’d sassing you, little pokes at her sides have her lips twitching up into a smile. Especially at camp, since her camp clothes expose her sides. Will cackle almost wickedly if you really manage to get her good. She gets a little more snarky when she’s in a more playful mood just to egg you on. Snide little comments followed by small snickers when you have the expected retaliation. When she’s had a few glasses of wine, her laughter gets more open, and she may even loosen up enough to get you back, blending in with the shadows to bide her time before springing at you, catching you off-guard and getting her revenge, a self-satisfied smirk on her face. Hmph, not so cocky now, are you?
Wyll will absolutely take the excuse for some light-hearted fun. He’s definitely ticklish, and a bit embarrassed about it. After all, a princely-like heroic man devolving into childish giggles isn’t exactly charming in his books. However, joint laughter shared between you two is a blessing he won’t pass up. You may notice a slight huff of laughter that first night you dance together, your hands against his sides making his lips twitch in a smile. If you don’t use it against him then, the opportunity arises later. Little slow-dances at night as you graze your fingers over his sides or his lower back, getting soft huffs of laughter out of him as he shakes his head in amusement at your antics. He doesn’t usually retaliate in those softer moments, but if you come at him with a playful attack, he’s quick to shoot back with a mischievous grin on his face. Provoke the blade at your own risk.

replacing the space between them helps clear her head, but the reprieve is short lived. when he makes his gesture, her gaze naturally follows, only to quickly jump back up to his face, that roaring in her ears returns with a vengeance, heat steadily creeping up her neck again. teeth dig into the inside of her lower lip hard enough to almost draw blood, released along with a dry laugh in response. the shift in her scent brings the smug smile back to his lips, knowing he already has his answer, no matter how much she may attempt to deny it. the smile widens to a grin at her reliance on aggression to shift the attention, allowing himself to fall back into his seat with a laugh. " hm. are you planning on joining me over here then ? " he teases, one hand gesturing to his lap. " perhaps you could read it to me ? " leaning forward, slipping the file from the desk, shifting in his seat, knees falling apart slightly as he makes himself comfortable. " i came plenty prepared, actually. not everything can be found in this little file, you know ? Can i request Yandere Choir/Ride the cyclone with Trishna? (Noel being platonic) (Idk if you do for Cut Characters)
She's a cut character, she's a shy, nerdy and curious girl who's into entomology and has a crush on her neighbor and classmate Hank! (Now idk things about Hank, but i'm pretty sure he was supposed to be the kindest boy in town or whatever)
Thanks! Here's a virtual flower and hug for you! đŸŒ·đŸ«‚
☁Yandere Choir x TrishnađŸŒ§ïž
Hopefully, this is okay since I don't know a lot about Trishna or Hank, I do write for cut characters though! They are very interesting to learn about. :)
⚠WARNING: General yandere content!⚠
Tumblr media
Ocean O'Connell Rosenberg:
Ocean's impression of Trishna was nothing notable. They had met through Hank after Ocean urged the other choir members to find new recruits, the new recruit Hank brought being Trishna.
Though, in Trishna's own words, "I'm not really planning on joining the choir actually..., Hank just asked me to at least look at it." But Ocean wasn't going to have it, as she had done with basically everyone else in the choir, she was gonna make sure Trishna joined them!
Her plan was simple: become Trishna's friend and soon coerce her into joining. She started by sitting with her at lunch, then walking with her in the hallways, and eventually, they would have study sessions together. Trishna wasn't stupid though, she very well knew the only reason they were hanging was for Ocean to make her join the choir, but she didn't really mind if it meant she could have another friend.
Ocean treated Trishna a lot like how she would Constance, they were friends, sure, but it wasn't too rare to see Ocean interrupting Trishna or pushing her to do stuff she didn't want to.
Ocean's tactic had worked though, Trishna out of obligation joined the choir...
In all fairness though, Trishna would've joined the choir at some point even if Ocean didn't push her to do so, Hank had been trying to persuade her for years after all.
With Her and Ocean's friendship simmering down a little, Trishna is still lowkey terrified of Ocean but also curious on why she acts the way she does. There's just something about the facade Ocean puts on that makes her want to dig deeper and learn more about the girl.
And she does! Instead of just Ocean initiating their hangouts (which now that she joined the choir, was every once in a blue moon), Trishna would go out of her way to invite Ocean to study with her or just go out of her way to talk to her.
This sudden shift put Ocean on the defensive as she didn't expect Trishna to be so... forward, but she too caved like Trishna once had.
Their hangouts are, as I've said already, mainly study dates. Ocean likes it this way though, she finds that Trishna is on the same wavelength as her and one of the few people who can match her intellect.
They were a good match together and were quick to become good friends.
Ocean tries to get Trishna to back her up a lot during arguments, which works even if Trishna doesn't think Ocean's in the right.
Trishna also really admires Ocean... She would kill to have such a good work ethic as her and wishes she could have her motivation.
Eventually, the topic of entomology came up in their conversations and Ocean is quick to learn of Trishna's fondness of the subject.
Ocean personally cannot stand insects, but watching Trishna get all giddy and excited about them makes her not say anything about that. In fact, she finds the girl's excitement adorable and even if she hates bugs, she'll let her rant about them all she wants.
There are a few times where Ocean's facade starts to crack a little, like when she goes on a whole rant about the dangers of drugs when they aren't even on that subject or how she is constantly spraying bits of perfume on her person. These behaviors and several others really let Trishna see into the girl's personal life and her fears.
It lets her see that Ocean isn't as flawless as she presents herself to be.
Trishna subtly tries to tell Ocean to take a break but Ocean never picks up on it. It got so bad that one day when the two were studying together, Ocean was noticeably more stressed out than usual and she ended up breaking down mid-session. Trishna knows she's awful at comforting people, but she really does try her best for Ocean, she pats her back while the ginger sobs, and when she calms down they talk it out.
Ocean had so much built up inside of her that they talked for hours. Once they both realized how late it had gotten, Ocean couldn't help but feel so embarrassed... She rarely got embarrassed but in this moment she honestly felt terrible.
Ocean helped Trishna pack up the supplies and Ocean was about to walk out of her home, an apology on her tongue, but before she could say anything Trishna said, "...I'm really glad you opened up to me, you know."
Trishna could not have been prepared for how much Ocean's heart would melt at her words..., a red blush covering her cheeks as she brushed it off and quickly left before Trishna could ask what was wrong. The whole way home, those words repeated in Ocean's mind as she tried to not make any deep meaning to them, but god was it so hard when that was the moment she knew she was in love.
Trishna basically earned herself a koala, because Ocean is attached.
And with this newfound bond they both had, Trishna decided to push her luck and try to help Ocean learn how to take a break, while also trying to get her to stop being so harsh to those around her. The only reason Ocean is really doing those things is for her.
The tradeoff for Trishna though is that Ocean tries to push her out of her shell and get her to do various "girl activities" together. (All the activities being within reason of course. And yes, this was an idea suggested by Constance.)
They go shopping, watch musicals at the local theater, have sleepovers, etc. It's all pretty new to Trishna since she used to spend all her time studying, but she really likes it!
Ocean tries to be smooth and flirt with Trishna, but it backfires as Ocean is just awful at it... Trishna always ends up laughing and it makes Ocean's heartbeat faster.
If anyone even tries to bully Trishna, Ocean will for sure make them regret it, She will protect her baby with her life.
Trishna loves holding Ocean's hand since Ocean's hands are really cold and hers are warm, it makes for a nice balance.
When it comes to Hank, Ocean is lowkey infuriated with him. She wants to be the one Trishna likes, how could she like someone as simple-minded and unoriginal as him? He can't understand her like she can!
The moment Ocean figures out she likes Trishna, Ocean and Hank have a one-sided rivalry with Ocean trying to constantly prove she is better than Hank by any metric of society. Any time Hank would do something nice for Trishna, Ocean would do something 10x better. If he had a good report card, she would have a better one. If he got some kind of award, she would get 10 more, it was a constant competition for Ocean that confused Trishna a lot...
On the flip side, Trishna and Hank's relationship is what sends Ocean down her yandere spiral...
She will keep them apart at all times, mainly during choir since that's where she has the most control.
She has to stop herself from groaning and yelling out of frustration when Trishna gushes about Hank, like, her eye will be twitching the whole time.
Anytime Trishna confides in Ocean about her crush, Ocean will purposefully give her bad advice.
Ocean also will subtly bad-mouth Hank to Trishna, Trishna knows that Ocean doesn't like Hank and is purposefully trying to keep them apart but she doesn't know why and she also doesn't want to upset Ocean so she never brings it up.
Admittedly, Ocean's bad-mouthing also gets to her head.
Ocean has a habit of staring at Trishna during class, like, full-on obsessive staring, which even she finds concerning because she sometimes forgets to focus in class...
Noel Gruber:
Gonna be real, Noel was not at all interested in Trishna at first... He just thought of her as another shy girl, nothing special.
Trishna didn't think much of him as well, he seemed fine and she was curious about the papers he wrote on just to throw away.
The only thing that really connected them was their crush on Hank. Noel had a massive crush on him and Hank wasn't even aware of it.
Noel wasn't immediately jealous of Trishna, he didn't even know she had a crush on Hank until he started noticing the way she gushed at him. It was then that he started to feel a little jealous.
Scratch that, very jealous.
He's gone through this same song and dance so many times that he just finds it so frustrating. Every time there was a guy he was interested in, there had to be some girl there who he knew his crush would end up with.
So he was admittedly a little rude to Trishna.
Nothing big, but he'd exclude her a lot, be snappy with her, and a few other minor things here and there. These actions did hurt Trishna, but she didn't want to make a big deal out of it since she thought she was overreacting.
Trishna would also try to befriend Noel, she complimented him and would sometimes leave snacks on his choir seat, but Noel was generally unreceptive to her attempts.
One day though, Noel was walking through the halls to go to the restroom and just around the hallway he heard some guy talking badly about him. He was about to just sigh, roll his eyes, and keep on walking until she heard Trishna's voice...
She was defending him, albeit, in the least confrontational way possible, but she was still defending him. Why was she doing that after how cold he'd been to her? Was it staged? He knew that didn't make any sense considering there was no way she would have known he was going to go to the bathroom during class, but it was still such a weird thing for her to do.
But it was nice that someone was looking after him, no one's ever done that before.
He would say that his attitude towards her made a complete 180, but there was a noticeable shift even if he did sometimes fall back on old habits. He was generally nicer, would actually include her in conversations, and would also put little trinkets on her choir seat as a thank-you for the snacks.
They slowly but surely became friends after that.
If Trishna gets to ramble about bugs to Noel then she has to let Noel rant about The Blue Angel, that was the rule they made.
Seriously though, Noel may hate bugs with a passion, but he finds all her fun facts interesting.
He will be pulling her away from her school if he thinks she needs a break, whether she likes it or not. Noel knows her parents work her to death and he is not a fan.
Declares himself as her older brother and will be taking care of her as such. Trishna finds it funny though since she actually does see him as an older brother figure even if they are the same age.
Noel knows all the secret spots in their school to take her when Trishna just wants to calm down and not be near people.
He will also speak up for her if she is too shy to say anything herself.
On lucky days, Noel will be able to actually convince her to skip choir practice so they can go have some fun, it makes Trishna super nervous though-
Trishna is super interested in Noel's poems and practically begs Noel to let her keep them instead of him just destroying them, she thinks art should be appreciated and that includes his.
He would never tell her since he finds it so sappy but it warms his heart knowing someone actually thinks his art is worth something.
Trishna will never find out about Monique if Noel has something to say about it! ...She probably does find out though from snooping around Noel's room, but she doesn't say anything to save him from the embarrassment.
Trishna thinks Noel is super talented, like, Picasso or Mozart type talented.
Eventually, Noel gets over his crush on Hank, it did take a while but he has other things to worry about now... like Trishna's crush.
He has some thoughts.
He originally tried to be supportive of her and would push the two of them to be together. Like, he would set up dates for them and would help build her confidence so she could flirt more openly with Hank.
He wanted Trishna to be happy and if Hank was who made her happy, then so be it.
But eventually, he started feeling a little weird about it...
Every time he would watch them walk away together for a date or something else, he would just start getting the most heart-pounding anxiety out of nowhere.
Something about watching Trishna leave, even if he knew she'd come back eventually, just gave him a sinking feeling in his gut.
Turns out he really didn't want her to leave him behind.
And in the most left-field decision possible, Noel started to push them apart, which really confused both Trishna and Hank...
Trishna tried to confront him about his switch-up, but he just chalked it up to him not realizing that Hank wasn't good enough for her and that she deserved better than him. And like Ocean, he got to her head and made her stop seeing Hank as often...
Noel is so incredibly possessive of Trishna, he influences who she interacts with, where she can go, and the whole nine yards.
Trishna knows she should break away from him but she really does see him as family so she has a hard time doing so...
Noel is also aware of this and uses it to his advantage so they can spend more time together.
She's his little sister after all.
Mischa Bachinski:
Mischa had to be the most interesting person Trishna had met by far.
As soon as she joined the choir, he was the first person who really caught her eye. She really couldn't help but be curious when he had such a unique look to him, clearly he wasn't from around here.
But of course, due to his intimidating aura, Trishna vowed to just watch him from afar.
Hank tried to reason with her and tell her that Mischa, although he hadn't met him himself, would much rather her go up to him rather than just stare at him, but she wouldn't budge.
Throughout choir, anytime she thought he wasn't looking (which, let's be real, was most of the time) she would take sneak peeks at him. She would note his behavior, habits, and whatever she caught her attention during their seemingly endless hours of rehearsal.
Mischa would feel someone staring at him during practice and he tried ignoring it at first since everyone does that until they just get used to him, but after a while, he confronted her about it.
This led to Trishna trying to awkwardly explain how she found him interesting and just wanted to see how he acted, all the while trying not to sound creepy. Don't get him wrong, he was a little peeved at her actions, but it also interested him so he let her off the hook.
Once they were over that initial bump, Trishna started to go up to Mischa so they could talk during choir. It was a lot of Trishna asking questions about his home and whatnot, with Mischa sometimes asking questions back.
They also started to meet up in the mornings.
Trishna was somehow able to get Mischa to teach her Ukrainian and she is surprisingly good at it, even if she fumbles with the pronunciation sometimes. Anytime she messes up, she gets super embarrassed.
A big thing they bond over is their love lives, Trishna's crush on Hank, and Mischa's love for Talia. Mischa would share some of the "wisdom" he has learned from being with Talia which Trishna actually takes seriously.
They both share tips with one another which may or may not work.
With this being their main talking point, it really surprised Mischa whenever first saw Trishna rambling excitedly to Hank and a sharp pain hit his chest like something wasn't right.
It frustrated him to no end... What was so weird about Trishna finally being able to flirt with her crush, something that he helped her do? Every time, he gets this thought in the back of his head that tells him Hank isn't good enough for Trishna, but he keeps that to himself for fear of upsetting her.
His only solace was being able to text Talia, her words of praise and her love never failed to make him feel better about everything. This worked for a while and he managed to keep his mind off of Trishna and Hank.
But even that started to fail him, Talia's responses kept getting shorter and shorter with him and she didn't seem at all interested in his loving words.
He didn't think much of it, figuring she must have gotten busy with her job and whatnot, until one day he got a long text, at least two full messages long, from Talia explaining how she fell out of love with him and how she found someone better. The panic that shot through his spine was nothing like he had ever had before.
Despite the last line of her text asking him not to contact her anymore, he still sent text after text asking for her to forgive him and to please come back to him, that he could still give her the world.
His messages were left on delivered before the app told him that she had blocked his number. That day really sucked.
For a good 3 weeks, he would rot in his bed, only getting out if he absolutely needed to. His heart felt like it had broken into a million different pieces, all being withheld from him by the one he used to love so much...
His absence from school and the fact that no one had heard from him really got Trishna worried... On a whim, and hoping to some magical force that he would come back, she sent him a text, just saying how she hoped he would come back soon and that she was worried. He got the text immediately after she sent it as he was scrolling through their past messages, it made him feel a little better, and he was quick to scroll back down and read her message.
...
As much as he didn't want to, as much as he thought his heart couldn't take it, he knew he needed to get up, if only for her sake.
On his first day back, Trishna was the first to come up to him, clearly excited to see him even though she tried to hide to not upset him.
They just talked like everything was normal, like nothing happened and he didn't just break up with the love of his life.
And he was okay with that, in fact, he was more than okay with it. He liked being able to let his guard down around her and be able to just talk about whatever came to their minds. Trishna was so easy to be with and he loved that.
He loved her.
...
He sees now how people think he moves too fast in relationships... (He literally doesn't care though.)
Gaining a crush on Trishna was not what he was expecting, especially since he just got out of a relationship with the girl he wanted to marry only weeks prior, but he didn't mind.
How could he mind when she had just the cutest expression on her face when she talked about entomology or when the way her brows would furrow when she had questions about something.
He seriously doesn't understand how Hank could be so hopelessly oblivious to what was right in front of him.
Speaking of Hank...
Mischa and Hank were never close, like at all, and even the moments when Hank did talk to Mischa, it was a very one-sided conversation. But even if they had been the best of friends, Mischa would have still been less than impressed with Trishna's crush on him.
Sure, he may be known to be a kind guy, but actions speak louder than words and Trishna is way too good for him. Literally, how could Hank miss someone so incredible pining after him? That's reason enough for why he doesn't deserve her.
So, as any totally sane and rational person would do, Mischa would actively go after and try to intimidate Hank, really trying to hammer in that if he ever sees him around Trishna again, he's gonna get more than a few broken fingers next time. Hank, being the guy that he was, was really hesitant to just leave Trishna with him and wanted to warn her, but he had to prioritize his own safety this time...
Mischa's intimidation even made Hank quit the choir, much to the bafflement of everyone.
Mischa will get into entomology for Trishna, he doesn't care for bugs but if she likes them, he wants to be able to talk about it with her. Trishna also gets super excited when Mischa starts to actually be able to contribute to their conversations about entomology and her smile is what really made it all worth it for Mischa.
Mischa really likes being close to Trishna at all times, like he needs to have a hand on her whenever they are together. He always feels such an intense need to be really possessive of her, especially since he knows some people, like Hank, will try and keep her away from him.
Trishna likes hanging out in his basement with him, it's very calming and she gets to get away from people.
What about Trishna's parents? You may be asking, and the answer to that is that Mischa will somehow get Trishna those A's even if it's not the legal way. He is committed to taking up as much of her free time as possible.
Ricky Potts:
They met before Trishna joined the choir during an after-school dance where they would receive extra credit, Trishna was there because she genuinely wanted extra credit and Ricky was there because his parents thought it would be a good opportunity for him to "make new friends." He didn't have the heart to tell them that everyone avoids him at school...
They were both meant to just be another pair of eyes, supervisors in case anyone got a little too crazy. Ricky was standing by the punch bowl, just trying to wait the night out so he could get out of his stuffy tux and go home when Trishna approached him awkwardly. She said hello and introduced herself, asking if he was the other supervisor there as she didn't really want to be alone all night.
Ricky, not really thinking clearly as he was excited someone actually came up and talked to him, was quick to sign, "Yes, I am. My name's Ricky." As soon as his hands started signing, he made a mental facepalm as he remembered that she probably didn't know ASL... But just as soon as he was about to grab his pad and pen, she signed back with, "It's nice to meet you, I like your tie." Then points to his space-themed tie.
Her signing definitely wasn't perfect, but the way his heart leaped for joy when he watched her hands make those words was unimaginable.
They had a great night together as well, talking, laughing, and occasionally dancing in their little corner. They didn't even realize the dance was over until the room was almost empty, and even then they both just sheepishly giggled as they walked out. Ricky was thrilled to have finally met his person.
After that night, they were inseparable. Ricky finally found someone willing to talk and hang out with him and Trishna found someone who she was comfortable with, it's a win-win situation!
Now, Ricky had never intended to show Trishna anything related to Zolar, as, in his view, she was far too pure to not be absolutely mortified by it...
It might have been the one thing he was passionate about in the world, but he was acutely aware of how others saw his daydreams and he wasn't about to risk losing Trishna. Well, until he was literally pushed to by Trishna.
Trishna, being the ever-curious girl she was, had known for a while that Ricky was hiding something from her, it was just written all over his face when he would slam his notebook shut when she came up to him during lunch and when he would stop himself mid-sentence as if to stop himself from mentioning something. She just had no idea what that something could be!
So, for pretty much a month straight, Trishna did everything she could to coax this secret out of him. She poked and probed at every possible point she could think of, but it never worked...
Until during one lunch period when Ricky was rambling about some movie franchise (probably Star Trek, she can't remember), and he just so happened to start mentioning his own universe inspired by it with a planet called Zolar. Ricky was quick to shut his mouth, but it was too late...
And so, he told Trishna everything he could about Zolar. As much as he wanted to leave some of the more explicit details out, she wasn't having it.
Trishna wasn't too weirded out by the whole thing and even is the one who usually initiates their conversations about Zolar. It's a nice change of pace for her to see someone else nerding out about something they love. :)
Then came Trishna joining the choir... Ricky normally would've been in love with this idea as it meant he could spend some more time with his favorite person, but as soon as he saw her in the choir room during her first rehearsal, he saw something that shook him.
Right in front of him was his best friend talking to Hank, an interaction he would have thought was normal if not for the red blush that coated Trishna's cheeks as she animatedly talked to him. The view hit him like a truck..., seeing the girl he's grown to care for so much acting so giddy over some guy made his stomach churn in the most unpleasant of ways.
He didn't even know why. What could have him possibly feeling so riled up about this?
His dilemma lasted him about a good week and he had several ramblings about it to his cats before he came to a startling conclusion. The conclusion is that he likes Trishna, a lot more than he thought he did.
He's never been one to deny his feelings, finding that it only takes up time he doesn't have, but this was different... It's about the only person in Uranium (besides his own parents) who actually cares to get to know him and see him as an individual, not just his disability.
Letting something as silly as a crush get in the way of that..., he really doesn't think he can take it. But he knows he can't hide these feelings forever, after all, thinking of Trishna being with anyone else is a way worse feeling than just their relationship being awkward after he confesses.
The only solution in his eyes was that he wait. He waits until she sees that he is the only one who understands her, he waits until she sees that Hank, or anyone else for that matter, is just a fleeting relationship that won't be able to compare to the one he has with her, he will wait for her.
During class, Ricky and Trishna would pass notes to one another filled with random questions, conversations, and doodles. Trishna especially likes drawing butterflies around Ricky's Zolar OCs.
They would also totally cosplay together, mainly from cartoons such as Steven Universe, The Owl House, Gravity Falls, etc. (Ricky would convince her to dress up with him as one of the couples on the show-)
Any time Ricky sees an insect literally anywhere, he will send a picture to Trishna so she can tell him what it is.
Speaking of photos, he has so many photos of Trishna, it's unreal- A lot of them are taken from when she's asleep or just unaware of his presence too. He isn't even sure why he does it other than he likes taking note of how many times he sees her in a day.
Ricky won't exactly interfere with Hank and Trishna's relationship, over time his jealousy simmers down a bit and he can think more level-headedly about how to deal with their relationship, but he does often try to get Trishna to talk to him instead of Hank. He wants her to come to him on her own accord, not because he's making her do so.
He always makes their hangouts last longer than they need to, so he can ask her to spend the night at his place. He wants to make sure she's safe and he gets to spend more time with her that way!
Even if Ricky can't physically beat her bullies up, being one of the few disabled kids in Uranium means a lot of faculty take his side during conflicts and he will be using that to make sure they at the very least get suspended for a little while.
Penny Lamb:
Trishna was one of the first people Penny had met at St. Cassian High School. Penny was a new student and Trishna, with the company of Ocean, was her tour guide. They met in the principal's office about an hour before school started and the rest is history.
The first impression Penny got of Trishna was that she was a lot like herself..., they were both quiet, nerdy people who didn't have many friends. That's probably what drew Penny in so much as she at least there was one person here who could hopefully understand her struggles.
Which Trishna did, very well, as soon as Ocean left to go tend to her other club duties, they both got to talking and Trishna found herself really enjoying Penny's company. She didn't have to worry so much about having moments of silence since Penny too didn't feel the need to say anything. Penny's anxious attitude was also a nice breather from most other students' loud and boisterous personalities, Trishna actually got herself talking more and basically being the extrovert in their conversations as she wanted to make Penny more comfortable.
They were attached at the hip after this and Penny managed to even get all her classes switched so she could be in the same ones as Trishna's, it was honestly such a big help to her anxiety since she had someone she was comfortable with next to her at all times...
With Trishna and Penny being friends, it was bound to happen that one would start info-dumping about their passions to the other while the other intently listened. Very often, they both will just start info-dumping about completely different subjects while they work on homework or something else and they both somehow consider this to be the best part of doing their schoolwork-
Trishna will be ranting about entomology and her favorite insects while Penny will chime in every now and again with her own animal facts, they both work really well together in this regard.
And speaking of entomology, Penny will be getting into that from how often Trishna rants about it. Like, she is basically trying to collect the tri-force of nature facts with how much she knows about animals, insects, and actual nature. Although Penny is actually really interested in entomology, it also makes her happy to be able to rant about it with Trishna.
A big turning point in their friendship started when Trishna joined the choir, as per Ocean's influence. The news really shocked Penny since she didn't think Trishna would be into that at all (Even now, Penny is 90% sure Trishna only joined because Ocean wouldn't stop pestering her) but Trishna reassured her that it's fine and she actually thinks this will be good for her.
That last statement wasn't entirely believed by Trishna though..., sure, joining the choir would make her a more rounded person and would look good for colleges, but she also has never had to put herself in such a spotlight before... The more she thought about it, the more nervous she got.
So, what better way to sedate her nerves while also not backing out of the choir entirely than to get Penny to join her!
Only a few days after joining, Penny had come up to Penny and, through some very anxious ramblings, asked if she would join as well, even if just for as long as it takes for her nerves to subside.
Penny herself was not too keen on the idea, but pretty much immediately said yes to Trishna's offer since there was no way in hell she'd let her best friend just deal with all that anxiety on her own.
That was how a nervous Trishna and equally as nervous Penny went up to Father Marcus to ask if Penny could join the choir (Even if Father Marcus wanted to say no, he was kind of afraid they both might start having a panic attack if he did-)
Penny never really knew who Hank was, only having heard of him in passing through Trishna and other kids, but as soon as she walked into her first choir rehearsal, she was greeted by him with Trishna at his side...
She really had to hold back from making any less-than-polite facial expressions.
Hank was sweet..., he was a friendly guy who any person could only dream of having as a romantic partner. And yet the moment Penny saw him having any kind of positive interaction with Trishna, it just made her view of him spiral to the lowest of lows. Just the way Trishna smiles at him makes her blood boil.
Trishna is her best friend and she isn't going to let him take her away. And let me just say that Penny can be very stubborn and very petty when she wants to be.
The more y this kind of relationship went on between her and Hank, the more Penny would start to notice the way her feelings had changed around Trishna. It really did start out as her wanting to protect her friend and not lose her to some guy, but every time she looked at her... it made something flutter inside her chest.
Every touch, conversation, or look just made her melt and she was quick to understand what was happening, even if it made her understandably anxious. She was in love with Trishna, she was in love with her best friend.
It really was just like out of romance novel, huh? Still, she's learned by now that it's better to deal with these sudden changes than to live your life running away from them.
Penny has so many nicknames for Trishna, most of which are just variations of her name though since she can't think of something more creative- Trishna likes to call Penny love bug, she is seriously a sucker for cheesy pet names and it just fits perfectly.
They both go on lots of hangouts to parks, nature sites, and museums.
Penny loves to draw Trishna, she's her biggest inspiration and undoubtedly her muse, Trishna would get embarrassed if she heard that from Penny though.
Penny was unbelievably happy the first time Trishna came to her to vent about her parents, she was so glad Trishna could trust her and open up about something bad that was going on in her life, even if Penny couldn't necessarily relate. That being said, Penny has made it her mission to get Trishna's parents off her back, and every opportunity she gets, no one will make her (unofficial) girlfriend stressed!
Not even kidding, Penny legitimately has a doll that looks exactly like Trishna. She hides it from her of course, but whenever she can't see Trishna, she likes to have it with her so she doesn't get her usual feelings of overwhelming loneliness she gets without her.
Did someone say overwhelming loneliness? Because Penny gets so anxious and sad without Trishna, it's actually insane. Every single time, she can't stop her brain from spiraling out of control from the what-ifs.
One of Penny's favorite things to do is to steal one of Trishna's sweaters and see how long it takes for her to notice. She also wears the sweater every night while she sleeps, since it smells like her.
Constance Blackwood:
The way Constance and Trishna met was a pretty basic tale in Constance's opinion...
Constance and the other choir members were sat inside the choir room, waiting for Ocean to come back after saying she needed to "finish some important business" which she refused to elaborate on.
Everyone was kind of doing their own thing and not speaking to one another, Mischa was scrolling on his phone, Noel was writing in a notebook, Ricky was staring off into space, and Constance was completing some homework, all very normal activities.
Well, occasionally Constance would reach for her water bottle to drink from and eventually it ran out, so she quickly left the choir room to go refill it. The walk itself was fairly short, so she knew she could make it back before Ocean did, though it also wasn't all too to close the choir room itself. When she started walking back, right as she turned the corner to go back into the art hallway, she bumped into someone...
The collision made both her and the other student fall to the ground, Constance's water bottle making a harsh sound as it fell beside her. The whole accident was beyond embarrassing for Constance..., she could not believe she had been so negligent to let something like that happen... She made sure to quickly jump up to help the other person, wanting to apologize for bumping into them.
She helped the girl up and both of them started to apologize at the same time. Looking back, it kind of just made Constance want to laugh at how silly it was. The girl in front of Constance shot out another apology before Constance was able to and asked where the choir room was, which caught Constance's attention. Constance explained how it was just down the hall and how she was a member of the choir.
The other girl made an audible sigh of relief at her words, introducing herself as Trishna and explaining how Ocean had pushed her to join the choir.
Eventually, Constance offered to show Trishna where the choir room was and Trishna obliged. The first meeting and one that Constance, although thinking it is quite bland, looks back on fondly.
Afterwards, though, they both didn't really get a chance to talk to each other much with Trishna's attention either being taken by Ricky, Mischa, or their other new member Penny and Constance's attention being taken by Ocean. It kind of sucked since Constance thought that by being one of the first people to meet her out of the group she and her could have possibly become better friends...
It probably didn't help that Trishna was so busy all the time, considering how strict her parents could be, she didn't have much time that was dedicated to her studies.
There was one time though when Trishna didn't have her afternoon packed to the brim with her studies and that time was swiftly occupied when Ocean asked her if she wanted to have a sleepover at Constance's house for girl's night. Of course, Trishna said yes, although she isn't sure if she would've been allowed to say no..., and that's how she found herself sitting in Constance's bedroom while Constance did Ocean's hair.
They did the regular sleepover activities of watching movies, playing truth or dare, eating snacks, etc. At some point, Ocean left to go to the bathroom, leaving Trishna and Constance alone in awkward silence..., yay.
Constance, being the nice person she was and also just wanting to fill the silence, asked Trishna if this was a good sleepover, to which Trishna replied with a shrug and said that this was her first sleepover so she couldn't really rate it. Constance was a little taken aback by her answer, she knew that Trishna was a shy girl but she thought there at sure was some point where got to just let loose and have a fun night with friends...
Even though Constance herself didn't have many friends she still had sleepovers with Ocean every once in a while, she felt bad that Trishna had to miss this kind of childhood experience.
Constance wanted her to have a good time and do everything sleepovers are supposed to entail, so she grabbed some nail polish from her nightstand and soon offered to paint Trishna's nails.
The next day Trishna walked around the giddiest she had ever been with her purple-painted nails and a new friend by her side.
Trishna had admitted to Constance once that she had never really been a music person and now Constance has made it her lifelong mission to find at least one music artist that Trishna likes!
They both watched the movie A Dog's Purpose and sobbed the whole way through.
Constance let Trishna bake with her once. Never again. Trishna is actually awful in the kitchen, nothing they made that day could've been saved by Constance's godlike baking skills, it was that bad.
When it comes to Trishna's love for entomology, Constance was obviously supportive of her and her interests. But she also loves to debate about it, there will not be an opportunity where the two are not debating on whether bugs are adorable or an evil virus of Satan.
At the end of the day though, Constance is happy if she's happy.
Constance was never exactly sure when she fell in love with Trishna, there was never a day for her where she was like, "Oh, guess I'm in love with this person now," It took months for her to even think of the prospect. There was just one day where she thought, "I wouldn't mind spending the rest of my life with her."
And it really didn't occur until she was talking to her dad about it and he just gave her this look... When she asked what he was smirking and chuckling about, he just gave her the vague response of, "I thought the same way about your mother," leaving her alone to just think about what he had said...
When the pieces finally started clicking for her moments later, she had to run over to the nearest pillow and scream into it with all kinds of different emotions.
Constance listens to girl in red and Chappell Roan pretty much exclusively after she finds out about her attraction to Trishna.
Also, sleepovers now happen pretty much every day, Trishna lives at Constance's house now with how often she stays over there. Constance really wants to make sure that Trishna's parents don't disrupt her happiness and this was the best way she could think to do it.
When I say that Constance is just the sweetest thing to Trishna... Despite how well Constance can keep her crush under wraps, an obvious sign of it is just how well Constance treats Trishna, she literally treats her like they are a loving old married couple.
You'd think Hank would get in the way of their relationship, but you would be far wrong. Honestly, Constance rarely if ever notices he's even there half the time with how focused she is on Trishna. She did have to admit though, on the off chance he is brought up and Trishna starts gushing about him, Constance is always awfully quick to change the topic lest the bitter feeling in her stomach gets the best of her.
Constance's parents literally ship them together so much that every time Trishna is at their house, they always will "subtly" allude to Constance liking her and Constance has to really quickly drag Trishna away from them out of fear of her finding out.
Okay so..., she's not saying that she laced her sleepover snacks with melatonin so she could watch Trishna rest, but she is also not she didn't do that. She just wants Trishna to take care of herself, she swears! :'(
Constance doesn't get jealous super often but when she does it hits her like a Semi Truck- Watching all the choir members flock to Trishna like the bugs she loves so much makes her feel the need to just walk out of the room to calm down, it gets bad. Especially when it's Ocean since she's known the girl for so long and can easily tell how infatuated she is with Trishna.
The satisfaction she gets when making obvious romantic gestures to an oblivious Trishna and seeing how jealous Ocean gets back makes it all worth it though.
General/All together:
They are all basically an entomology club with how much the choir desperately tries to relate to Trishna's love of bugs.
Penny is somehow always not asked to come to girls' night so Trishna has to go out of her way to bring the girl herself.
Speaking of girls' night, the boys will be infiltrating that, there will be no peace.
Everyone in the choir might be in competition to win over Trishna, but the one thing they can all agree on is that they aren't fans of Trishna's crush on Hank at all. Hank will be having the worst few years of his life before graduation because they will make it miserable, no one is exempt from this.
Trishna will be getting almost all the choir solos from now on despite Ocean's protests.
The choir is also in a constant competition of either keeping Trishna shy or trying to get her out of her shell more. Ocean, Mischa, and Noel all want her to stay shy while Ricky, Constance, and Penny are the opposite.
Mall dates are a must for all of them, it's the one place you can really go to in Uranium, and it's public meaning none of them can act up.

A/N: I don't know if you wanted me to add Hank to this list, if you do just let me know and I can add him!

the thing about loving nora so damn much is that i legally have to Make Her Go Through It. sometimes though, it feels so so so mean. however. i have to make my headcanons make sense from top to bottom.
so. per my headcanons on how her semblance works... once she was struck by lightning and her semblance unlocked, her passive ability unlocked too. rather than dissapating the tiny bits of electricity that her body naturally produces, like everyone else does, her body stores them. it's up to nora as to how she can deal with it.
before she gets a handle on it, she's a walking static producer. ever walked around in socks on carpet in the winter? she's like that, all the time. discharging whenever she touches anything that can conduct electricity. some of the less helpful instructors at tocsin (the vale combat school that my ren and nora attended from ages 13-17) force nora to wear rubber gloves when she's in class.
this, of course, doesn't actually help. she's still storing it up. nora copes by energizing herself with the excess electricity and just. Being Hyper. she always has been excitable but now she just bounces off the walls, because she doesn't know how else to spend the energy outside of combat.
ren doesn't know how to help her either. his semblance is strictly defensive/supportive. he has always been under intense stress to make sure he keeps it under control. they aren't on the streets anymore but nora feels compelled to make sure, should they ever end up there again, that she can pull more weight when it comes to keeping them safe.
if nora is worked up or stressed, she starts sparking. arcs of electricity come off her skin and they can hurt whoever gets close. it's a easy way to help her discharge, if you can get a grounded lightning rod close enough.
other lesser signs that she's not quite keeping it under wraps are, in order of increased severity: increased fidgeting/stimming (hilarious as a marker, as she's audhd af), static field as observed by her hair strands lifting up as if rubbed by a balloon, indigestion & nausea (too much energy messing with peristalsis); uncontrollable hiccups (excess electricity causing her diaphragm to spasm), and finally, the sparking.
these first two markers goes pretty much unnoticed by nora herself, though the rest of jnpr is pretty good at noticing when her hair starts going flyaway. ren can tell the difference between normal nora fidgets and too much energy! nora fidgets at a glance. when nora gets so bad that these side effects show, she tends to skip indigestion and nausea and go straight to hiccuping. rarely, like if she's in an argument with someone who doesn't know her well enough to point out her hair, she might reach the indigestion stage (for example, cordovin). however, hiccups come on fast when she's having a breakdown. they are her major sign that she needs to find some way to calm down and rein in her semblance.
she has two choices for doing so: sequestering it for later (a choice she makes when she's likely to be in combat soon) or discharging.
sequestering (storing) it requires her to rein in the electricity and sink it into her muscles. typically this means her thigh and butt muscles, as they are the largest. she creates a circuit of circulating electricity deep in her muscles and they slowly store the energy for later. (don't ask me about the biology here unless you want to be here all night; that is a promise, not a threat). she can also then use it to jump and leap. this is also why she skips so much!
storing/sequestering is what nora refers to as "sinking". it's not a term she really explains to anyone. in fact, she loathes explaining her semblance to people. firstly, no one expects her to understand how her semblance works, because she's hyper and bubbly and girly. secondly, people tend to get weirded out and wary of her when she explains, at least they did at tocsin. ren loves that she knows how both hers and his works.
she gets a lot of confidence and joy from it as jnpr works in private to train for the vytal festival, because jaune and pyrrha think her semblance is super cool. by the time vytal comes around, she's just stoked to be able to show off for the first time, since jaune decided they should keep it a secret until then.
on the other hand, discharging it is exactly what it seems. it's what she does when she doesn't need the extra energy or wants to be sure she's safe to touch others. she can discharge into the air (which causes a thunderclap of varying decibels, depending on how much electricity she discharges) or into the ground or to any grounded source. she can also do this offensively by throwing a bolt or striking something with precision.
after spending most of her time at tocsin wearing gloves, she keeps them in her beacon outfit, though fingerless, because she likes to comfort and the compression, but also she likes to know she's capable of safely touching people.
the mean thing that i was thinking of, which prompted this post, was nora being threatened with, and perhaps once subjected to, tocsin's cruelest 'therapy' which is to forcibly break a student's aura so that their semblance won't hurt anyone until they get it under control. which. may or may not have happened to her when she took a shower while charged, knocking out tocsin's campus water plant and electrocuting anyone who was also taking a shower at the same time. 🙃
anyways. i want to write a series of oneshots and drabbles that contains all my headcanons for the main kids' semblances and how they work and how they've adapted to them over time. im just a big sucker for logistics and after blake's semblance driving me batshit for months, i think it's what i deserve.

Oh it spreads alright. Soshiro is also not immune to the pranks from the pair either, but both Mina and Kafka knows better then to prank the man when in his office working or having a bad day.
Other silly stuff also includes Kafka transforming while on a family vacation during one summer. That one actually was the transformation that showed Proto, Hina, Akari and Tabiki that Kafka had finally gained his electric pwoers since he caused the hotel they were at to lose all power for a good few hours when his tail hit one of those power boxes found here and there.
To say the adults was quite embarrassed about isn't an understatment. They had their lucky stars to thanks that noone found out how said power box got utterly destroyed and fried to high heavens.
Speaking of powers accidently destroying things. Akari is just as bad as her son in this regard as well. Sure, Akari has pretty much been training since she could walk on how to properly use her gravity ability. But that those not mean she did not do similare damage as her own son would do.
Its just with gravity, things goes up a notch. Or five.
Akari has done the following things by accident: sending the school roof flying sky high, the same to countless cars and bikes (sometimes into other houses or even stores), countless furniture being pulverized by high gravity, casuing at least 5 hydrants to explode and ripped off a road once during a temper tantrum.
She also almost accidently killed herself at the age of 10 by crushing her own organs and several of her bones. Remember how I told you that Proto had to do an emergency surgery on her while she was in kaiju form and discovered that she too had the heart core? Yeah this was how the old kaiju found out about that. He did not have a good time trying to save his daughter.
Nor did Akari have a good time staying bed bound either for that matter. Kafka is lucky his more like his father in this aspect as Akari is someone who hates bed rest. She a woman who prefer to do something than just idle sitting around doing nothing. Not even when sick as one could be could keep her in bed long. Though when she found out she was pregnant with Kafka, she was far more willing bed rest giving how much harm she could cause by not doing it now and then.
Especially in the early stage. It also helped that her maternal kaiju instinct pretty much kicked in hard and made her more willing to do things she would usually not if it meant the little life in her was safe.
I can only imagine how terrifying Akari's fury was while pregnant. Mama bear and mother kaiju instincts combined into one. There honestly would be mishaps when it comes to a hybrid's powers coming in.
I bet the Defense Force is grateful that Kafka didn't inherit gravity powers from his mom. The idea of a kaiju whelp making everything float via a single sneeze is horrific to describe. I think they'll rather take the walking taser instead.

CBMTHY gang, unite.
In all honesty, regarding your question about reader and mor forgiving each other i think it'd be complicated.
Reader is passive enough to let mor walk over her (for now), as seen by her just walking away rather than defend herself. Mor however? I think for her to completely forgive reader, part of her would also have to acknowledge that Eris isn't the monster that she believes he is.
For example, when i imagine Mor TRULY regretting what shes said to reader it couldn't be an argument or a disagreement of any kind. Mor is too stubborn for that imo, i think she would personally have to see how eris and reader speak with one another. And i have a feeling even then, with how shes been spoken about in acowar (amren mentioning theres truths even THE truth teller is avoiding as well as eris implying theres more to the story several times to several different characters) i don't know if she would be able to *ACCEPT* that about him. (the IC's blind rage when something bad happens to one of their own is sweet from their POVs? but theyre DEFINITELY biased so i cant trust any of their takes atp 😭)
Part of me admittedly wants to see eris get defensive over reader in an older sibling way against specifically mor. i think that would be a real stone to the head for ALL of them. To know that she found family in someone that they found so horrible, and to know in the back of their heads that eris was better to her than she was? and for that to torment them all for a long while.
Now, I've had a theory for a while that eris KNEW that if he laid a hand on mor at the border that she would be chained to him permanently and that not helping her đŸ’«directlyđŸ’« wouldve been best. Think about beron, if eris had taken mor home and HE found out what mor did? i think beron would've killed them both for the disgrace. We already know eris isnt what he seems, so this seems plausible to me 👀Especially because eris said "how do you think lucien got to the border" to feyre when she implies in acowar that he helped kill jesminda. I think he may have done something similar here and sent an anonymous tip of sorts to the night court, that fuckery was happening on autumn's borders... where mor happened to have been left by her family.
As for CC and TOG 👀 cc starts really đŸ’«denseđŸ’« a lot of information all at once and it made it very difficult to begin, (similar to priory of the orange tree imo). But its easily SJMs best written series that is currently published, acotar and tog both were started very early in her career and it shows. While not perfect, CC shows that that sadistic woman has improved 😭 (she pulled off the ending to CC2, which at the time of reading i can say i debated whether buying CC3 would even be worth it)
and id LOVE to chat about TOG however, last time i did i accidentally info dumped to my ex for six hours (he was a great sport 😭) so uhhh brace urself 😂
-đŸ€
Warnings: big spoilers for the Crescent City series, some pretty heavy CC slander on my part so please look away if you don’t want to read!!!, also spoilers for the Throne of Glass series 🧡💛
Small note: I feel I should also mention that I haven’t finished CC3—I got about halfway through and had to put the book down so if some massive stuff happens at the end, I have no idea about it đŸ«ŁđŸ«ą
I think I agree with you about Mor being kind of stubborn in her forgiveness but I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad trait of hers? I think for the most part Mor’s able to stand her ground perfectly fine and reader did kind of mess up to be fair? So yeah, if reader were to just amble up to Mor, even if it was done in private, entirely sincerely and reader explained her side of things with perfect clarity (explained her side as in, reader saying she didn’t do it to hurt or betray Mor, but reader would leave out all the personal/emotional stuff because it’s reader đŸ€š) Mor just wouldn’t be able to do it? I think it would have to be a candid/genuine moment? Especially if because of Mor’s past she feels reader is being kind of manipulative (even if she might not mean to be) it would take Mor witnessing reader either interacting with Eris on her own or seeing reader do something genuine that isn’t just apologising and trying to sweep it under the rug for her to understand fully/see reader’s side?
‘(amren mentioning theres truths even THE truth teller is avoiding as well as eris implying theres more to the story several times to several different characters)’
While I’m kind of interested to see what Miss Maas will do with this plot line, I’m 100% not even going to attempt to touch on it in cbmthy because I think my head would explode trying weave that into the stuff I’m already trying to remember to do 😭
‘Part of me admittedly wants to see eris get defensive over reader in an older sibling way against specifically mor.’
I would so love to write a scene like this too, and I’ve thought about putting it in, but I feel it would ultimately undermine reader further and make her more doubtful? And also just wrongly portraying the IC? To make them only forgive/understand reader when Eris/a male character steps in? That’s one of the reasons I want reader to handle it herself because while it would be super satisfying in theory to get a scene of Eris ripping into them, it would be too unrealistic for me :/
‘But its easily SJMs best written series that is currently published, acotar and tog both were started very early in her career and it shows.’
Okay this is absolutely WILD to me since Crescent City is easily the series of hers that I despise most? In fairness I do struggle a lot when fantasy is set in a modern word because in my opinion it defeats the point of fantasy—I read it to escape from the real world so making it contemporary immediately puts me off.
When you say ‘it shows’ I’d genuinely love to hear what parts in particular you mean since for me there’s no competition between ToG and acotar, and CC? Particularly the slightly eldritch-y feeling we get in Throne of Glass when Aelin’s first discovering the Wyrd marks, the portals, the strange creature hunting in the dark, gothic halls of the palace? I love that stuff so much, having the sense of something so vastly larger than yourself?
‘While not perfect, CC shows that that sadistic woman has improved 😭 (she pulled off the ending to CC2, which at the time of reading i can say i debated whether buying CC3 would even be worth it)’
The ending for CC2 I agree was mind blowing (for me at least) and I spent ages in a absolute awe over the connections, however it wasn’t enough to compensate for the intense boredom and disinterest I experienced through the rest of the first two books? I feel I should also mention that I genuinely can’t stand Bryce, and struggle a lot with Hunt, so I’m sure not clicking with the two main characters impacts my perception of the story a lot.
For me, while I can see how making Danika such a mystery could be really cool for the plot, it got way too repetitive? Everything being related back to Danika after Bryce was so insistent they shared everything with one another got old so quickly? I can see how miss Maas might have been trying to make it sad, with Bryce caring so much for Danika then finding out how little she really knew about her would eat at Bryce, but it did not work for me and felt cheap and repetitive.
(Also Bryce having the fourth item of the dread trove? Nesta said it looked like a skull, I think in the vision she got from Lanthys, so turning it into a trumpet felt like Miss Maas hadn’t planned it properly? A trumpet and a skull look nothing alike?)
What I most dislike about Bryce is how inelegant and uncompromising she is, which might very well be the reason other people like her (I suppose it could be interpreted as strong-willed or being brave/courageous? Having a strong fighting spirit?)
She comes off as narcissistic and narrow minded to me, particularly when being put in the acotar world how she immediately assumed the worst of the fae and her prejudices come out? I can understand with how humans are treated in the CC world why she would have those views, but they were hardly mentioned in the CC books? If we’d had a section dedicated to actually showing the imbalance between vanir and non-vanir, the violence that’s probably inflicted and maybe Bryce personally experiencing that inequality it would feel so much more justified, but none of that was shown so to me it just came off as hateful and baseless? That and also since I easily adore acotar and intensely dislike CC it was difficult to see Bryce treat the acotar characters as such untrustworthy people? I understand that from Bryce’s pov she doesn’t know the IC, but I kind of feel like Miss Maas should have taken that into account?
Then also I kind of have a problem with how Bryce is described physically? It feels like she was made plus-size to try and be more inclusive but she feels so over-sexualised, both through how much sex Bryce and Hunt have (that’s a whole other point though) and how the words ‘luscious curves’ were used for a couple of female characters? I felt Miss Maas included plus-size characters but then made them all fit into conventionally attractive shapes that would appeal to a male-gaze? Feyre and Aelin are both described as beautiful in my memory, as well as being given traits of strong-will and having overcome numerous difficulties, whereas for Bryce so many of her character’s descriptions are about how sexy she is or how good her body looks? It feels disingenuous and like she isn’t a real character and it’s such a missed opportunity (in my opinion)? I would have loved a Bryce who was a little more human (ironically) and experienced the thoughts and doubts that I think are pretty common in women regardless of their size or shape, so to dismiss that side of things entirely, particularly in a book series that’s set in a modern world? It frustrates me a lot :/
(That and also the moment in CC3 where Hunt is in the Asteri’s dungeons, being tortured, not knowing where his mate is or what state she’s in and all he wants is to have sex with her? I think the line is something like ‘and all he wanted was to slide into her sweet heat’ like are you kidding Hunt? Your mate could be in awful danger and that’s what you’re thinking about? You’re in awful danger and that’s what you’re thinking about? It felt so shallow and lust-fuelled?)
‘and id LOVE to chat about TOG however, last time i did i accidentally info dumped to my ex for six hours (he was a great sport 😭) so uhhh brace urself 😂’
Genuinely if you’re up for it I would love to hear your reply because I haven’t come across someone who’s been so enthusiastic about Crescent City and I would genuinely adore the chance to hear why you love it so much? We read the same books so I’d love to find out why we had such different reactions to it? And with Throne of Glass too, give me all of your thoughts!! Please!! I love getting to have discussions like this (as long as you don’t mind me possibly arguing against you with CC things? I don’t know if I was too harsh or unfair in my expression of what I think about CC/Bryce but I am sorry if it sounded mean) 🧡💛

During a March rally on the University of South Florida’s campus, three members of the Tampa Bay Students for a Democratic Society (TBSDS) and a university staff member involved with the organization were arrested by campus police during a protest against Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. In May, a fifth individual turned herself in after being issued a warrant by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department and is now facing similar charges. Now known in total as the “Tampa Five,” Chrisley Carpio (31), Gia Davila (22), Laura Rodriguez (23), Lauren Pineiro (23), and Jeanie Kida (26) could each be facing between 6 and 11 years in prison if convicted of felony charges of battery on a law enforcement officer.
All five protesters, who are being represented by criminal defense attorney Michelle Lambo, pleaded not guilty to the charges at their arraignment on May 17. Davila, who just graduated in May, tells Teen Vogue she had to drain her savings to pay $3,500 in bail funds. Carpio, who says she had never even been written up during her seven years of work for the university, believes that she was wrongfully terminated after being placed on paid administrative leave and has filed a grievance.
A representative from the University of South Florida tells Teen Vogue via email: “The University of South Florida dismissed Chrisley Carpio from employment in April for violating several university policies and standards. As Carpio is a member of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Union, the university followed all pre-disciplinary, due process steps contained in the staff collective bargaining agreement.” [...]
The dispute involved here dates back to a March 6 campus rally that TBSDS organized to protest the defunding of DEI programs. After convening at the university’s Marshall Student Center, protesters went inside the Patel Center for Global Solutions because they wanted to speak with university president Rhea Law to demand that the administration increase Black enrollment and the future of DEI programs, according to the Tampa Bay Times. That’s when law enforcement got involved and the situation violently escalated.
In video footage posted to TBSDS Instagram, USF's chief of police Christopher Daniel can be seen speaking to protesters just before Davila responded that they “are staying here until [they] get a meeting with the president.” Daniel grabbed her arm and, as seen from other posted footage, appears to have thrown her on the ground.
Although the footage is chaotic and difficult to make out, other officers and protesters got involved, leading to a violent scuffle that continued outside the building, off camera. An official statement released by the USF police department alleges that university employees who work in the building asked protesters to go outside before officers arrived and also asked them, multiple times, to leave. [...]
In phone interviews with Teen Vogue, Davila and Carpio allege the situation played out in a completely different way. Carpio says they walked into the building with no problem and at that point had not been told by administrators to leave. But things very quickly took a turn.
While protesters were chanting, Carpio alleges, police started grabbing students. Davila says she was thrown to the ground. Video of the incident shows that while Davila was being tackled by officers, the chief of police placed his hand on her rear end for several seconds.
“The chief of police grabbed me from behind, picked me up off the ground, and threw me face down on the ground," Davila alleges, "and then proceeded to grope me while another cop bent my arms behind me.” She is charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer without violence, disrupting a school campus or function, and trespassing in an occupied structure.
Carpio — who is charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer without violence, and disrupting a school campus or function — alleges that officers did nothing to de-escalate the situation and blocked the doors as she tried to get protesters to go back outside. After finally making it outdoors, she says, she was pushed up against a wall as officers hit her in the face and one placed an elbow to her throat. (USF police tell Teen Vogue they will not provide any further comment on the details of the allegations now that the case has been turned over to the state attorney’s office.) [...]
Says [Morenike] Fajana, [assistant counsel for the NAACP Legal Defense Fund,] the state should expect young people to become more vocal as they fight to retain stable learning environments. For their part, Carpio and Davila are grateful to have solidarity with other organizers and support from online petitions, but the reality of possibly facing 6 to 11 years in prison is something they don’t take lightly.
Still, both women say, they don’t regret their actions and wouldn’t do anything differently if they could go back in time. Carpio says there’s always an inherent danger from police and administration when you’re in a movement, asserting your rights, and exercising free speech. “The state attorney said that they would consider dropping the charges if we wrote down on paper that it was our fault, that we did battery, and that if we wrote apologies to all the cops,” she says. “And we all said no.” [...] “The solidarity from everyone has been amazing,” Carpio says. “Instead of making people scared of protests, SDS chapters — the day we got arrested — immediately had protests in other states
. They've been fearless, and I think it's only invigorated the movement instead of putting it down.”
-- From "The Tampa Five: Students, Staffer Face Charges After Protests Against DeSantis Administration" by Sierra Lyons for Teen Vogue, 13 July 2023.

Character Intro: Aeschyne (Kingdom of Ichor)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Age- 45 (immortal)
Location- Hearthwood neighborhood, New Olympus
Personality- She's a thoughtful austere woman who believes in personal enlightened purity and being in service to others to those who are less fortunate. She can be rigid & judgemental at times. She's asexual and is single.
She has the standard abilities of a goddess except shapeshifting. As the goddess of modesty & honor her other powers/abilities include being able to induce the feeling of humility in others (temporarily), truth sense (not as strong as Apollo or Themis), limited photokinesis, and being able to transform her entire physical state into organic steel (like osmium) as a form of defense or heightened emotional states.
Aeschyne has one child, a daughter Alke (goddess of courage). She set out to use the fertility services of Gaia (goddess of the earth) after having a prophetic dream about "bringing glory into the pantheon." The great earth goddess herself even delivered the baby!
She lives in a small simple house in the Hearthwood neighborhood of New Olympus. The interior design is very understated & minimalist with the color scheme being cream, ivory, gray, and pastel blue. Many pottery pieces decorate the house as well. In her bedroom there's a small TV that has access to a few channels- namely public access & news channels.
Aeschyne has an animal companion- a female griffin named Charity. Their bond is so strong that they're able to sense each other's location and when they're in danger. Aeschyne came upon her when she was a sick fledgling during a missions' trip to Ithaca, stumbling upon the remains of a mother griffin that fell victim to poachers. Hidden away underneath her wing was Charity! Aeschyne took the small creature, nursing her back to health. Charity is her usual mode of transportation when traveling great distances. Aeschyne usually gets around by walking or riding her bike.
She always starts off her mornings with an hour long session of meditation followed by yoga.
Aeschyne doesn't partake in any alcohol. Go-to drinks for her include aloe vera juice, mineral water, coffee, green tea, coconut water, almond milk, and orange juice. At The Roasted Bean she likes the iced green tea, the flat white (made with almond milk), & the iced brown sugar oatmilk espresso.
She keeps her long waist length dark brown hair neatly trimmed. She'll normally wear it in a low tight bun, as a single braid running down her back, or completely covered with a conservative headdress.
For the longest time Aeschyne and her daugher were best friends. One wasn't seen without the other. Things began changing when Alke made the decision to move out. Then she started to veer away from some of the austere principles she grew up in. Aeschyne was dumbfounded when she finally visited her daughter. Alke's long wavy dark brown hair was now a blunt buzz cut & she also had a nose ring along with several piercings on her ears. It's still difficult for Aeschyne to come to terms with her daughter's newfound worldview, but she's making the effort to not be totally narrowminded.
A typical breakfast for her is a small cup of black coffee along with a buttered koulouri (sesame bread) and moustokouloura. She also likes a small bowl of plain yogurt lightly drizzled with thyme honey & two everything bagels topped with tzatziki cream cheese from The Bread Box. She also likes rizogalo, buttered croissants, and Earthly Harvest raisin crunch cereal.
Aeschyne recently added aikido martial arts to her list of pasttimes. She was drawn to it namely for the fact that it's a primarily defensive form of fighting.
She loves using the Glory's Crown coconut water and aloe vera shampoo, conditioner, & hair mist.
White lilies are her favorite flowers!
Her favorite frozen treat is almond oatmilk ice cream. Every week, she gets a small cup from The Frozen Spoon.
Aeschyne doesn't wear any makeup except for moisturizer for her skin and LipCalm mint tea moisturizing lip balm.
For work/means of income Aeschyne is heavily involved in charity work. She works with one of her friends Eusebeia (goddess of piety, loyalty, duty, & filial respect) and her organization, The Pietas Foundation. She also works alongside The Litae at The Eleutherus Cathedral. On her own Aeschyne is the author of a childrens' chapter book series titled The Kids of Pure Creek. The series follows a group of friends of varying backgrounds from the same tight knit community. Faith, friendship, & family are the core of the series. Currently, Aeschyne is overlooking the construction for a monastery that's being built in the Athenian countryside. This coincides with the startup of her organization I AiĂłnia ParthenĂa (The Eternal Maidenhood). It's a membership for like minded ascetic women who voluntarily choose to leave aspects of mainstream society and live their life in prayer, contemplation, & active vocation of service to the needy, sick, poor, and uneducated.
Her all time favorite dessert is ultra moist lemon blueberry cake from Hollyhock's Bakery.
In the pantheon Aeschyne's best friend is Soteria (goddess of safety). She enjoys the time where she visits her & her family where they cook, garden, knit, and read. Aeschyne is quite fond of Soteria's daughters Eleos (Ellie) (goddess of mercy, pity, & compassion) and Eulabeia (goddess of caution)‐ refering to them as her "honorary nieces." She has also gotten close with Soteria's in-laws Anchiale (Titaness of fire) and Hecaterus (Titan god of manual labor).
Aeschyne & Soteria spend time together outside the house too- like going to a bookstore, visiting the museum, or volunteering their time at the local food bank.
She's also friends with Hestia (goddess of the hearth), AxiĂłtimos (god of honor), Peitharchia (goddess of obedience & discipline), Apheleia (goddess of simplicity), Eikono (goddess of iconography & literature), and Ptocheia (goddess of beggary).
Aeschyne is in talks of possibly being an official mentor to Aidos (goddess of shame, modesty, humility, & respect).
The list of deities she doesn't like is a long one, with her publicly denouncing a few including Dyssebeia (goddess of ungodliness & impiety), Kakia (goddess of vice & moral wrongdoing), and Koros (god of surfeit & disdain).
She recently donated a wide range of menstrual pads to the young girls of The Old Order community.
In her free time Aeschyne enjoys woodworking, pottery, knitting, sewing, reading, writing, gardening, hiking, swimming, chess, and cooking.
Her all time favorite meal is garlic & thyme rice along with horiatiki.
"Be modest and simple in your deportment and treat with indifference whatever lies between virtue & vice."

Who wants some tidbits about OCs that I never talk about because my Tumblr profile has slowly been getting murdered thanks to hiatus
[REDACTED]/KREATUR/WESEN
- Spawned from the one (1) time I drew GL!Ranboo as a creature (because why not) while listening to ‘Bloody Mary’ on a five-hour loop and the idea that came from it went so far off course from canon that it went from an AU to an original story idea
- (In my defense I drew him when I was only 20 minutes into the first episode. I barely had any idea what I was getting into at the time so of course my creative drive was going to derail)
- (My brain needs to stop dragging people up when I’m 30 seconds into their source (iykyk))
- ANYWAY.
- Wesen’s real name has been lost to time. He’s not that old, he just doesn’t remember his name due to being punished whenever he tried to correct his captor on what it was
- His captor called him Kreatur ("Creature"; "die Kreatur - creature, creation, wretch, minion") to dehumanize and objectify him. This drove him insane for obvious reasons so he somehow got his hands on a German dictionary and fought to change his name to Wesen ("das Wesen [German] being, nature, essence, creature, character, entity") instead. Because if you’re gonna call him a creature you could at least be nice about it
- His captor let it go and he’s gone by Wesen for years since.
- Wesen’s also a walking bomb! He has a kill switch built in to the base of his skull that can also be used to give him a headache ranging from “oh owie” to “my brain is pressing against my skull and I am in agony”. If his captor cranks it all the way up his head will explode. It’s supposed to stop any act of rebellion and is therefore a literal explosive leash.
- He’s not aware of its existence and his captor gives him a headache severe enough to make him pass out from the pain if any of his fellow prisoners draw attention to it, so he won’t know it exists until it’s too late.
- It likely might’ve been put on him since he killed two people when a team tried to catch him. Maybe they should’ve left him alone, then.
- Wesen isn’t human. Avery (a fellow prisoner) calls him a canine, and she’s half right. He’s a dog-like bipedal creature with white fur covered in black spots
- I’ll get around to drawing him one day. He’s on the planned roster for Art Fight.
- He wouldn’t hurt a fly, most of the time. He’s sort of a doormat. That said, he’s not totally innocent and he does have blood on his hands--not all of it unintentional, either. His captor holds this above his head as a reason why they can’t let him go.
- He’s a lot smarter than he acts. Turns out he’s playing dumb, since—as he’ll later tell Avery—it’s saved his life over and over again.
- He’s masculine-leaning agender.
BELPHALAGOR
- Goes by “Bel”. Also masculine-leaning, but more genderfluid than agender.
- Belphalagor is a bipedal goat who swears he’s average height and everyone else is just a tallass. They use Wesen as its “proof” of this, but Wesen’s barely an inch over average height (5â€Č 9″)
- Whereas Bel herself is 3-4 feet tall.
- Bel is made of ink, sort of. He has flesh, but their blood is black, smells strongly of something not natural and is poison to ingest (as some more feral enemies will find out). It obviously wasn’t born this way but tends to dodge the question as to how this came to be.
- She’s stuck in a suit most of the time, but prefer wearing dresses. The once time he gets a chance to they jump on it.
- Bel’s eyes are closed 90% of the time, rendering them blind. It heavily depends on Wesen to guide her around.
- Something happens later on that reveals why he prefers to keep their eyes closed as much as possible.
- (he/they/it/she pronouns. Bugger’s collecting the things.)
[REDACTED]/AVERY
- Avery is the must humanoid of the bunch. This is because unlike the other two she’s not a canine creature or Mountain Goat stolen, experimented on, then stolen again. She’s a human that got kidnapped and freed herself when they tried turning her into a bird woman. (These people really like amalgamating animals with the weirdest shit.)
- She acts like your typical action woman cliche—no-nonsense, only sane person in the group, tragic backstory, “I don’t need a man”—but she’s not immune to being silly. She slowly drops her guard the more time she spends around idiots 1 and 2 (affectionate).
- They’re both fools but they’re HER fools and she loves them. (The sentiment is returned ten-fold once she drops the “I’m too good for you” act.)
- She’s a bit of a fool too, though she won’t admit it.
- She has a plague doctor mask pretty much fused to her face. A modern-day one, based off a crow. She can take it off, but it’s very painful and what’s underneath isn’t pretty.
- Her hair is pretty short and growing...Weird. It’s all spikey and feathered. She’s kept it short as much as she could until she can find someone to reverse this bloody bird transfusion.
- She’s also got feathers growing out of her arms. It’s painfully slow, but they’re becoming more noticeable as time goes on.
- She and Bel butt heads often over who should do what in what context. Sometimes they fight for so long that by the time they’ve worked it out Wesen’s solved the problem already.
- She and Wesen didn’t exactly hit it off immediately. She was a bit patronizing towards him; treating him like a dog or very slow human. Once she learns that he’s not that fucking dim, though, they bond very quickly.
- She’s the only cisgender one of the group. Bel calls her the “token female” despite also using she/her pronouns (likely just to piss off Avery, who always takes the bait).
- Avery’s name was given to be a play on “aviary”. She can’t stand it, but she doesn’t remember her old name so she’s currently stuck with it.

Penny Fun Facts
Tumblr media
// She’s been on my mind lately and I want to share some thoughts I have about her
Penny was designed with a multi-purpose abdominal cavity. It’s large enough to fit a child in- a feature that was made specifically for her creator’s child to hide in while playing. Mostly though, it’s used to make cupcakes or hide birthday presents. Occasionally, she uses it to store other things that pique her interest.
One of the main features Penny was equipped with is a built-in compost bin. It’s a sealed, charcoal-lined container (made to prevent leakage of odor) accessible through the back of her belly storage. Its function was to reduce the amount of waste in her facility and recycle the nutrients. Any food that patrons didn’t want, they could give to her to eat. The container has live worms in it to help break down the matter into nutrient-rich compost that could be used by gardeners and farmers. Once a week, it would be emptied and the contents would be donated to local farms and plant nurseries for use.
One of the main foods Penny loved to consume was bamboo. There was an in-house bamboo greenhouse where visitors could pay a small fee to have a bundle of bamboo which they could feed Penny. This was stopped shortly after because they realized bamboo was very difficult to compost. So instead, Penny would help visitors make little ornaments for their bamboo plants to take home.
Like a lot of animatronics, Penny has a defense system for registered threats. Unlike other animatronics though, it’s a lot more defensive and unintentional. She was designed to bear hug children, curl up into a ball, and roll away to safety with them. However, she never really mastered how to roll backwards. So what ends up happening is she curls up and launches herself at the threat like a bowling ball. It’s rarely enough to cause serious damage but given how heavy she is and how fast she goes, it’s a given that she ends up knocking people out 9 times out of 10.
Like a real panda, Penny has a strong affinity for climbing up into high places. Also like a real panda, she never seems to have any plan for how to climb down. Typically, her little escapades upward end when she loses her balance or grip and ends up falling from her perch.
Penny was designed with several features in mind for comfort and realism. This includes several layers of insulation that cover the rubber and layered metal plating of her endoskeleton. Below this material is a compact, rubberized heating element that traps warmth in the insulation. Over it all are two dense layers of faux fur. All of this together gives Penny the authentic feel of a warm-bodied animal.
The heart light on Penny's chest radiates a dim red glow by default. Usually, this glow is pulsing and it's accompanied by a sound like a heartbeat used to soothe small children when she cradles or rocks them. However, pressing on it reveals several features: it can change colors and brightness up to the level of acting like an LED/halogen headlight. Depending on her mood, the rate of the pulse can speed up/decrease. This was not a programmed feature.
Penny has retractable, self-sharpening claws. They're intended to cut rope or cloth versus any defensive or offensive purpose. She mostly uses them for climbing and she doesn't like showing them.
Penny's paw pads are made of a soft gel memory foam material with a thin layer of bonded leather stretched over it. Her pads and toe beans are capable of emitting a faint glow and can sometimes be used to leave glow-in-the-dark tracks. Because of how soft they are, it also means that she can be near-silent when walking on her toes.
Penny tends to get startled by people sneezing. This was not a programmed response and it's unclear where she developed the habit but when someone sneezes too close to her, she will visibly jump.

I love that movie and that book, and both are core memory/personality pillars for me.
So, in their defense, I have some thoughts.
Sorry, OP, I have a Lot of Thoughts:
She doesn't understand time.
She doesn't even understand THE PASSAGE OF TIME. Because unicorns are immortal and exist outside of it. In the book, she RUNS FOR A YEAR STRAIGHT, and only remarks that the animals in the lands she passed through "grew long hair, and then it grew short again".
When Schmendrick temporarily changes her into a human, it is jarring and horrifying because UNICORNS HAVE NO FRAME OF REFERENCE FOR A MORTAL BODY. So she could literally feel herself growing towards death. It's heavily implied that unicorns don't even actually need to EAT.
So her transformation is the opposite of the stories where a beautiful princess is transformed into a bird or something, and it's shocking. She's a graceful, beautiful woman, but she is not HERSELF, and the change gives her insomnia, nightmares, and severe depression.
She is quiet and reserved but not rude, ever. At times she is very mildly sarcastic to Schmendrick, but is never cruel. Even to the witch who held her captive, Mommy Fortuna, she is never cruel. If anything she sounds weary and slightly annoyed, that Mommy Fortuna wants to keep her like a living trinket--but then she even warns her that she should not tamper with real immortal beings.
Also, as a woman and a Black woman, I don't know why, but this has always stuck with me: the unicorns are sapient.
King Haggard wanted ALL OF THEM for himself. For the elusive pleasure of seeing them trapped in the surf, too afraid to even step foot onto the shore.
And yet he never would have spoken to them, never would have tried to know or befriend them.
Because they were THINGS to him. He wanted them, all of them, enough to sell his soul (?) To the Red Bull to keep them all trapped there for himself.
It didn't matter to him that they were minding their own business in their forests and glades. It didn't matter that he likely caused a lot of the desolation on his own lands by imprisoning the unicorns in a narrow spit of ocean that only he had access to.
It didn't matter that the unicorns were sapient magical beings at all, because he never bothered to consider them as anything other than playthings and live anti-depressants.
The Unicorn, or Amalthea, then has to walk around in his decrepit castle, full of images of her real self--but caricatures. She has to be I the same space as a man who thinks of herself and others like her as less than animals, more like tokens, and who would happily have his demonic bull imprison her with the other unicorns. She knows that he knows--he looks at her and accuses her of not being human more than once!--but that even seeing her in a human form and theoretically being able to talk with her, he cannot contain his selfishness or meanness. He says he will allow she and the party to stay there and that he will "...look at them...for awhile..."
Even if she wanted to, she could not tell him any of her truths, because he likely would not have wanted to hear them.
Do you think a man who lived like that, would listen to someone tell him about the way their favorite plum tree dropped blossoms precisely into a moonlit pond? Do you think he would have cared at all, beyond his own bitterness and selfishness?
All of this to say that the movie and book are much deeper than "pretty anemic pony plus her wizard and cook friend go to fight an evil king and a fiery bull monster".
Following the author of The Last Unicorn on Facebook is the only thing that makes being on that site worthwhile.

Outline
Starts with a woman who works in a flower shop in a small town. She decides at one point to have a several day encounter with a local man who is a furniture maker. It is impromptu, they do not have any preexisting relationship, and she decides to ask him, at many different junctures, what he would like, what would give him pleasure. This weekend involves a lot of different types of encounters, and she, somewhat inexplicably and against what would ordinarily be her instinct, is concentrated on him. Things like "how do you like it, fast or slow." It is very passionate, very hot. This several day encounter occurs in a remote mountain cabin, which consists of little more than a rustic room, bathroom, and bed.
After this encounter, she expresses that it was a one-time thing, and that it would be over from there. He asks why they can't see each other again, because he likes her overall and wishes they could go on, but she wants to cut it off. She declares that there is someone out there for her, but that she hasn't found him yet. The next scenes are of her interacting with various men at the shop, who are a cascade of comically unfit people with interest. Like a montage.
Time passes. She is working at the shop when he comes in, and he again expresses his interest in spending time with her, and she once again declines.
Shortly afterwards, a black SUV drives up, and an extremely handsome man gets out, and it is clear in an instant that this is the person for whom she has been waiting.
Time passes. We see her in an astonishingly beautiful house of her own design, with the handsome man, Jack. They have two elementary aged kids and everything looks perfect. She runs a significant design business, he is also a successful businessman. She is involved in the community and well respected, manages the kids' life, and their sex life is good, if not quite as passionate as her tryst with the first guy.
At some point she is traveling through her old town and decides, on a whim, to check to see if the furniture shop is still running. It is, and she sees the first guy. They end up having dinner, and then they enter back into another multiday tryst at the same cabin. She spends some time wondering why this may have happened.
She goes back home and determines not to mention it and try to never think about it again. However, in time, Jack confronts her, telling her that he heard from another person who lived in her old town that she had spent the weekend there. He asks her point blank, with aggression, "did you have sex with someone else?" She denies, he asks again, she denies, and then finally a third time she admits that yes, she had an affair.
"How could you do this to me," he asks? He wonders if everything he's done isn't enough, if all this isn't enough, if there's something that's missing, and he's devastated.
She admits her actions and feels badly, and then asks if there's anything she can do to make it right. He can't think of anything. She suggests a few things, which he rejects. Now she starts to get defensive, and lists all the things she's done for him, and is willing to do for him, and how good things are overall. She works in the community, she runs the business, she makes plenty of money and keeps herself in shape, is there really nothing she can do?
Finally she suggests that he also have an affair, as that's the only thing she can think of that would make things even, and maybe they can move on from there. He says he doesn't want to have an affair, and that's not the solution. He walks out of their perfectly designed bedroom and down the wide main staircase, and as he goes through the entryway he sees his young, attractive assistant. They make eye contact.
Time passes. Eventually they have a conversation in which Jack comes to her and talks about how the affair is fine and he's having a good time, but that's not what he really wants. He would like to continue to have a good relationship with her, to end the affair, and to try and rebuild things. He has an idea on how to make things fair and right - he wants to try a threesome.
She is very offended by this, and goes into an angry rage.
She is rather unmoored after this, and after a period of time, decides to see the first guy. She drives to the town, and as she pulls up to his house, she sees him, someone who we understand is his partner, and another couple enjoying themselves, leaning over a table, and with several children running around. All this is framed in the picture window of the house. She leaves without talking to him, or anyone else.
Shortly thereafter she is walking down the back steps and looks out across the backyard, where she sees the young, virile pool attendant working. They make eye contact through the window, and it is clear that he's approving and interested of her. She pauses for a moment, and then turns around and goes back upstairs. The next thing we know, they are having passionate sex. Then it is revealed that she has been masturbating instead, and was imagining the sex.
Time passes. She and her husband do not interact much at this time.
She is working when someone in workman's clothes is let in by a housekeeper. It is the first guy, who comes to find her. She is in their bedroom when he appears. She definitively tells him that he shouldn't be there, that their agreement was that he would never come there. He asks if she's missed him. She admits she went to see him but that he was with his family and she didn't want to break it up. He says he still loves her and begins to try and initiate sex. She angrily forces him away, and he is confused as to what she wants. She finally makes him go.
We end with her, alone, on the bed.
