fun fact about silas koivunen! while his sister, freya, was actually born in finland, he was born in sweden two and a half years later. the koivunen family has moved from finland to sweden to france to the united states. the father remained in sweden, and the mother lives halfway across the state they are in (california ?) because their half-brother, kieran, whom they are currently in the custody of, lives quite far away.

#random thoughts #kieran is not a koivunen.. kieran is a montague.#the mother's maiden name is montague. (which was going to be the original name for the koivunens but #augh..)#she had kieran when she was very young. freya and silas came about ten years later.#and then even later silas grew up a bit and realized he was trans. since their mother was being awful about it #kieran decided to do something.#he took her to court. and they asked the children as well.#simple questions. “who would you rather stay with?” the whole shit.#silas says he doesn't want to be anywhere near that woman. freya says she doesn't want silas to be unhappy.#after a bit of wrestling kieran wins the case!! and so the children come to settle at his place.#they sleep in kieran's old room which. isn't much of a comfort. but he's working on it okay.#HE IS TRYING. ):#i love how kieran is one of the only characters whose name i've kept. that and jensy. (':
