PAIRING. lee heeseung!student X femreader!student !
SYN. the uni is giving away free dorms! under one condition, in order to save your desperate broke ass student’s life, you’d have to get married. and who’d be the lucky person to marry you if not your childhood friend? no feelings involved of course!…..right?
GENRE. he fell first but she fell harder, basically being in denial for feelings at first, childhood friends to a married couple, fluff fluff fluff !
WARNINGS. mentions of getting married(obv), rest of enha and lesserafim’s yunjin & chaewon are in it too, mentions on having kids(no, there will be no kids here its nothing serious!!), mentions of food, being broke because of uni student life. (pls do lmk if i missed something!) || NOT PROOFREAD AND VERY POORLY WRITTEN!!
WORD-COUNT. 5.1k+ (damn!)
NOTE. this is me being extremely sorry for not continuing my heeseung smau by releasing a heeseung oneshot yay!! i actually got the inspiration from HAPPINESS (one of my fav kdramas!) please leave some feedbacks!! i really wanna know what you thought about it<3
when you were younger, you’ve made a wishing list to you in the future, as soon as you turn an adult.
three important wishes were ;
first, never go broke while being a uni student.
second, never get married before the age of 25.
third, never ever fall in love with your best friend since childhood, aka lee heeseung.
first one is already being a huge failure. younger you would be definitely disappointed in uni student you, not that you care that much, but being a broke student sucks.
“my parents are literally about to kick me out, i get that, i’m a 22 years old uni student who’s still living up their asses, they probably want some peaceful and quiet life” you smacked your head over the lunch table, both of your friends looking at you concerned.
“maybe it’s time for you to pay for the dor-“
“never! yunjin, tell her how broke i am”
“she has like 1 dollar in her bank account, she’s still taking loans from her parents” yunjin nodded and you rolled your eyes.
“you didn’t have to go that far”
“oh i did”
“oh i know! what if you just start working?” chaewon raised her voice a bit.
“i have no time!”
“excuses excuses blah blah blah” she mocked you.
“look at heeseung for example, he works in a part time job at the convenience store right next to uni” yunjin pointed out.
you searched through the lunch hall and found the one person you’ve been looking for, lee heeseung.
you’ve been stuck to him ever since childhood, with your mothers being the biggest best friends you’ve ever seen, it was pretty hard to not see him every day in your young days.
both of your mothers even got pregnant at the same time, and gave birth around the same time, you’re two days younger than him.
your photo album is full with pictures of you and him, and so are the hanged photos on your house wall.
your mother and his mother were your biggest shippers, forcing you both to hug each other and even wear matching clothes.
your elementary school memories are filled with heeseung next to you and the whole class shipping you two.
highschool days weren’t better either, guys who wanted to try a move on you were always so scared of heeseung, they were so sure you and him are dating, with the amount of glares they got from him it was really hard to think otherwise.
your highschool crushes rejected you, always giving the excuse of not wanting to be in a relationship, hiding the fact that heeseung warned them that if they’ll say yes he’ll make sure they never see a daylight again.
he was joking, really. he’s not the violent type, and he couldn’t really explain why was he feeling so jealous whenever he saw you confessing to a guy who isn’t him.
heeseung got used to watching you from afar and protecting you, and you got used to search him everywhere you go even in crowded places and having his company ever since childhood.
“hee!” you called and waved at him, he waved at you back with a smile on his face.
“i swear if i didn’t know both of you were childhood friends i would’ve think you’re a married couple or something” chaewon rolled her eyes and you scoffed.
heeseung continued his way to his usual table with his friends.
“thinking about ways to confess your love to her?” jake smirked and heeseung shook away his thoughts.
“hm? who?” he asked.
“it’s obvious who! don’t play dumb come on!” sunghoon playfully pushed the older one.
“we’re talking about Y/N! everyone in uni are talking about you, even those who know nothing about the two of you” jay remarked.
“there’s nothing between us, we’re just friends” heeseung shrugged.
“and i’m queen elizabeth” sunoo tsked.
heeseung rolled his eyes and began to eat, “you know, even if i did have a crush on her, why would she even accept my confession?”
“ohhhh~” his friends teased.
“it’s kind of obvious she likes you, we’ve watched her ever since we became friends with you, and the way she looks at you is just different” jungwon shrugged and ni-ki nodded.
“she’s always searching you in a crowded room, as if you’re her guardian angel and she only needs you in her life in order for it to be perfect” ni-ki then stole a few bites of heeseung’s meal.
“hey! not cool” heeseung scoffed and ni-ki giggled.
“it’s not bad to have a crush on your childhood friend, you know?” jake smiled, “sometimes all you need is a miracle” jay added.
“hey, let’s go on a work search for yo-“
“no no no yunjin not you too!!” you sobbed, “i have no time to work and i need to search for the cheapest dorm, a one i can actually afford as soon as possible”
“why don’t you just go and ask heeseung for help” chaewon shrugged.
“it’s not that easy, i don’t want him to worry about it too much, he works hard for his money too” you pout and they nodded.
“by the way! how’s the money for the uni dorms is going?” jake asked heeseung who was busy fighting with ni-ki over his food.
“i’m just a few shifts away from getting enough money, i’ll ask y/n to become my roommate as soon as— what?” he noticed his friends looking at him.
“y/n and you? being roommates?” sunoo teased.
“hey, me and y/n spent all our childhood together, my house is her house and her house is mine, it has been like that for a while” heeseung sighed and they all nodded hesitatly.
“still, you said y/n’s parents told you about her not being able to pay for the uni dorms, are you really willing to pay it all?” jungwon asked.
heeseung shrugged and took a bite from his food again, “it’s either that or she’ll get kicked out by her parents”
“you really are her guardian angel” ni-ki whispered.
“good morning! you have afternoon classes today right?” your mother woke you up with a smile smeared all over her face.
“mhhm” you hummed, still trying to adjust the bright sunlight that hit your face.
“i need you to bring some medicine for ms lee! she’s been sick and i bought her some things” your mother helped you to get up and shoved you a bag, “here”
“can you please just let me get—“
“you can get ready at theirs! quickly quickly go!” she pushed you outside of your house. damn, she really does hope you’d get out as soon as possible.
she was right though, heeseung’s house is your house, and your house is his. you have a few clothes and even a toothbrush at his house and he has the same at yours, getting ready there was never a problem to you.
a walk to their house is even less than 5 minutes so you weren’t worried about someone from your neighborhood getting a jumpscare and thinking you’re some kind of a zombie.
you took out the keys and opened the door, heeseung was sitting in the kitchen and eating his breakfast.
“don’t ask, been a rough morning, where’s mom by the way?” you asked him and he pointed at her room. you got used to call his mom your mom too.
you saw her sleeping so you left the bag and the medicine next to her, leaving a note saying good morning and instructions of how to take the medicine, as if she doesn’t know all of that.
“you have afternoon classes too?” you asked heeseung while getting ready. he was in his room, lying on his bed while playing some games on his phone.
“not really, i don’t have any class today” he chuckled.
“since when don’t you have any classes today?”
“ever since i decided that im too tired to go to uni”
you rolled your eyes and threw one of the pillows at him, “don’t be stupid! get up and get ready to go!”
he giggled and shook his head, “i’m joking, i took evening classes for today”
you pressed your lips together and nodded, you don’t know why but hearing him giggling always made your heart skip a beat, but you don’t have any feelings for him, like, at all. right?
afternoon classes started and before you knew it, it was already lunch time.
“y/n! you won’t believe it!!” chaewon shout.
“what is it?” you shout at her back even though you were sitting right in front of her.
“i found you a solution! you can get a free dorm!” she shout back.
“what!” you shout.
“can you stop shouting! for god’s sake you’re literally a 1 cm away from each other” yunjin, who was covering her ears yelled.
you and chaewon shared an eye contact and froze. yunjin is so scary when she’s angry.
“continue please” she coughed and let chaewon continue what she had to say.
“it might seem crazy what i’m about to say,” chaewon sighed, “the uni is giving away free dorms—“
“no way omg omg omg please tell me i’m dreaming this is not happening right now right this is not real righ—“
“under one condition!” she cut you off and took her phone out of her pocket to read the terms.
“in order to get a free dorm, you have to have at least one option applied ;
one, you’re younger than 18. two, you’ve been scoring A+ on ALL of your exams and three, you’re between the ages 18-25 and got married, or engaged” she finished reading and turned off her phone.
“but chaewon, i’m not younger than eighteen” you complained and rest your head on your arm who was lying on the table.
“nor scoring A+ on ALL of your exams” yunjin added.
“thanks yunjin, i needed that”
“always here to help”
“then you know what’s left” chaewon smirked and you sat up, looking at her with innocent eyes.
“no” you let out.
“oh yes”
“i have no one to marry to” you argued.
“yes you do!” yunjin replied.
“i do not!”
chaewon and yunjin raised a brow and crossed their arms, “you don’t?”
as heeseung entered the uni entrance, you ran towards his direction and stopped in front of him.
“y/n why are you still here—“
“let’s get married” you said it out loud in front of everyone who was around.
your surroundings suddenly became quiet and everyone was staring at you two, starting to whisper and waiting for heeseung’s answer.
instead of answering he grabbed your wrist and dragged you out of the entrance into a place in the garden next to the uni.
the walk there was making you so nervous and anxious, what if you were a bit too much? asking your childhood friend to marry you just to get a free dorm? are you that desperate?
when he finally stopped, he let go of your wrist and cupped your cheeks, looking straight into your eyes.
“what did you say?” he asked, his eyes looking for any sign or answer from you.
“i said, let’s get married”
heeseung could’ve swore his heart skipped a beat because he for real felt like he died at that spot.
“let me explain!” you said before he could respond.
“the uni are giving out free dorms to anyone who’s between the ages of 18-25 and is married or engaged” you sighed.
heeseung let go of his hold and sighed, looking down and closing his eyes.
you really didn’t mean that genuinely, did you? something in him really hoped you did.
“hee?” you asked, biting your lower lips, suddenly feeling more anxious than before
“sure, let’s get married” he chuckled.
you broke your second main wish on your list.
heeseung was just a few shifts away from getting enough money to get the both of you a place to live in, he could have told you that too, but he chose not to.
only crazy people would agree to this idea, you were so desperate that you actually just asked him to marry you, and he guessed he was one of those crazy people, because he had no idea why he said yes.
he had other way, without marrying you, but something about the idea of marrying you made him feel excited.
“i knew it i knew it! only crazy people would agr— wait what” you blinked a few times after you realized his answer.
“i said sure, let’s get married” he smiled softly and you were about to faint.
“no feelings are involved….right?” you hesitantly asked him, hoping he wouldn’t agree with you.
instead, he nodded slowly and hesitantly, “no feelings involved”
you regretted that sentence so bad because the day after, when he kneeled on one knee and held a ring out for you in front of everyone and proposed to you, your couldn’t lie to yourself anymore, you actually broke your third wish on your list a few years ago, you were in love with lee heeseung for years.
“y/l/n y/n, i have loved you ever since i can remember, i watched you grow up and grew up with you as well, i got used to being with you 24/7, i can’t see the rest of my life without you in it, will you make me the happiest man alive and agree to marry me?”
even though it was an act(according to you), it felt so real to the point where you cried and sobbed so badly, while putting on the ring he bought for you less than 24 hours ago.
it wasnt planned. the proposal wasn’t planned at all.
the plan was that you and heeseung will go to the uni secretariat and request an application for the free dorm since both of you are engaged now.
heeseung had no reason to put on this whole show and show everyone that you’re now engaged. you have no idea why he did it, and instead of getting angry at him, you fell in love with him even more.
it felt wrong, it felt not right.
but you didn’t care, you always knew your feelings for heeseung were somewhere deep inside your heart. you tried to push them away all the time, because there was no way your childhood friend, the popular boy in your highschool, the kid who grew up with you, had feelings for you.
you tried to deny your feelings but now you realized thrre was no use anymore, so you let yourself love him as much as you can.
it wasn’t the desperation that lead you to ask him to marry you, because then you’d ask literally any other guy, it was your pure love to him, to the guy who was always there for you when you needed him.
“heeseung! explain what was that!” his six other friends gathered in a circle, surrounding him and not letting him go.
“what was wha—“
“you and y/n? married?” jungwon shout.
“have you gone crazy?” jake added.
“and she said yes! something is not right” jay joined.
“yesterday you told us you have no feelings for her!” sunoo remarked.
“you didn’t even believe us when we told you she’s obviously in love with you” sunghoon tsked.
“something isn’t sitting right to me” ni-ki gasped.
“explain now!” they all said at the same time.
“calm down!” heeseung coughed, “i’ll explain to you everything later”
by later he meant after classes, at his house, together with you and your friends yunjin and chaewon.
“yunjin, chaewon” heeseung nodded at your friends.
“lee heeseung” they glared at him.
“come on! both of you knew about it even before” you pleaded.
“doesn’t change the fact that he’ll be stealing you from us now” they rolled their eyes.
“i’m still so confused” ni-ki tried to quicken everyone and get to the point.
“me and y/n are getting married—“
“yeah no shit sherlock” sunghoon cute him off and heeseung glared at him.
“anyway, y/n would you like the explain why?” he turned to you and smiled.
“the uni is giving away free dorms to married couples between 18-25 so—“
“you decided to get married to get a free dorm” jay finished your sentence.
“have you gone mad? heeseung worked his ass to get enough money to get the dorms for the bo— mhhhhmmm!!!” sunoo roamed but jake covered his mouth before he could continue.
“sunoo!!” jake coughed and turned to you with a smile, “don’t mind him he’s been stressed from work and uni lately”
the rest of you giggled awkwardly and tried to ease the atmosphere.
after you yunjin and chaewon left, the boys stayed with heeseung, looking at him with concern.
“what?” heeseung looked at them back with his bambi eyes.
“i don’t know hee, it feels like….she’s kind of using you” sunghoon spoke, jay slapped his arm and he whined.
“he’s right though, marrying you only to get a dorm is quite crazy” jungwon nodded.
“he’s even crazier for actually agreeing to all of this” ni-ki said and jake shushed him.
“ni-ki is right, i am crazy, i have no idea why i said yes but she wasn’t forcing anything on me” heeseung shrugged, “besides, i’ve liked her for so many years so—“
“ah ha!! we knew it!” they all said at the same time and heeseung sighed. what have he got himself into?
after everyone left, heeseung texted you, asking you to meet him in your usual spot.
you got ready and for the first time, you took a while to do so.
you stared at yourself in the mirror a few times and even checked different outfits. this has never happened to you ever before, especially not when you knew that you’re going to see heeseung.
heeseung saw you at your worst, why are you dressing up for him now then?
“i must be crazy, crazy crazy!” you shook away your thoughts and got out to meet your soon-to-be-husband.
“hee!” you saw his back facing you and as soon as he turned around you froze.
did he dress up for you too? why does he look so breathtaking suddenly? his bambi eyes match the rest of his beautiful features on his face so much, you’ve seen this man grow up, you know every detail about his face and you couldn’t explain why it was so sudden that you got caught by surprise because of his beauties.
shaking away your thoughts, you walked closer to him and smiled.
“hey hubby” you grinned.
“hubby?” he asked.
“a new nickname for my soon-to-be-husband” you chuckled and he nodded.
“i actually thought about something,” he turned to you, “our parents will figure it out sooner or later, should we tell them the truth or—“
“no, let them believe we’re getting married without any reason other than being in love”
you have no idea why you just said that. but you hid your face as soon as you realized what just came out of your mouth.
heeseung felt too flattered and suddenly didn’t know what to say. you keep on making him speechless.
“ahem,” he cleared his throat, “you do know that they’ll probably rush out things and even take the wedding plan to their own hands“
i don’t care, i’d like to marry you and spend the rest of my life with you as soon as i can. is what you wanted to say, but you couldn’t bring yourself to do so.
“y/n?” he asked. he noticed you were too deep in thoughts and waited for you to come back to sense.
“i’m aware” you nodded, “i’ve also got a text from the uni, we’ll be getting our dorm in the next week, so we should start preparing”
heeseung nodded and looked at you. you were suddenly feeling so nervous and shy to share an eye contact with him, so you broke it as he just kept staring at you and taking in your beauty.
“hey y/n” he said, “hm?”
“i don’t mind marrying you and spending the rest of my life being married to you”
you looked over him and he had the genuinest smile you’ve ever seen.
it felt like the world had froze, and the snow that was falling suddenly stopped, it felt like it was just the two of you in this whole world.
“YOU’RE GETTING WHAT?” your mother yelled.
you and heeseung planned a dinner with both of your parents, to announce the big news.
things became quite awkward between the two of you, ever since your last encounter with him you could barely face him.
his sudden confession freaked you out and the only thing that came out of your mouth was “oh, okay” in the most dry way ever.
you wanted to tell him you feel the same, you wanted to tell him that you’ve been in love with him ever since forever. but one moment that caught you off guard ruined your chance.
you were stupid, stupid and idiot. heeseung probably thinks you hate his guts now.
heeseung in the meantime felt like he was breaking apart slowly. oh, okay?? that’s all you had to answer?
he felt dumb, he felt hopeless. the confession was completely out of the blue and unplanned, your beauty hypnotized him and he was so mesmerized by you that the words just came out of his mouth naturally.
what if you hate his guts now? what if he made you uncomfortable? what if you’ll regret it the last minute because you weren’t feeling the same about him?
all of those questions were eating him alive, and you didn’t help either. each time he came up to you, you were suddenly in rush and told him you have to go, it was breaking him inside slowly.
the dinner was one chance to finally talk with you again.
“married, mom. we’re getting married” you repeat what you already said a few seconds ago.
“when? where? how?” heeseung’s mother asked.
heeseung looked at you and smiled warmly, “it just happened, we’ve been together ever since childhood, it already felt like being in a relationship for so long, so we decided to marry each other” he chuckled and held your hand tightly, “to belong to each other until the day we die”
your parents looked at the both of you. you were sharing eye contact for so long, with heeseung smiling at you, looking deep into your eyes, and with you looking at him with nothing but pure love in your eyes that was making everyone in the room feel so jealous of you two.
“now kiss!” your mother said.
you and heeseung broke the eye contact and blinked a few times.
“what?” you asked.
“kiss then! i want to picture it and keep it in my photo gallery forever!” his mother added.
you were about to speak up until heeseung held your cheek to turn you to face him and it was only a matter of seconds until you felt his lips on yours.
it was your first kiss ever, your first time kissing someone, and it was his as well, but he lead you on so good that it made it look less awkward.
you were his first kiss. you, his childhood friend, stole his first kiss.
“we knew that it’ll happen one day!!” your mothers cheered, “we even have a whole wedding plan ready!!”
you and heeseung broke the kiss and shared an eye contact again.
you didn’t need to hear him say to know how much love he holds for you, and how he cherishes you so much.
and your eyes told him everything, they held the answers to all of the questions that bothered him. you love him as much as he loves you.
“i can’t believe you’re getting married, my little angels” your parents cried altogether which made heeseung let go of his hold on you and grab some tissues to wipe their tears.
“i love that ring by the way! heeseung you did a great job” your mother gave him thumbs up and he chuckled.
if only she knew that it was a ring he bought you in less than 24 hours and even rushed your friends to come with him and help him pick it only because he wanted his whole life to properly propose you.
it was a moving day already and your parents helped you pack every last thing, they even cried through the way, how could their princess leave them so fast?
“you can visit our house anytime!” you tried to comfort them.
“we’ll update you before that, we don’t want to catch you while doing the thing you know” your mother winked and you rolled your eyes, “mom!”
“i see you’re all packed and ready” heeseung came in to check on you.
“she is! take her away already!” your mother complained.
“not before you take this with you!” she went away for a few seconds and came back with a huge wrapped photo frame.
“don’t open it yet!! only when you get into your new house and get everything in place!!” she excitedly hugged the both of you and you nodded.
moving in was quite rough, you had a lot of boxes to unpack and organized, and you and heeseung never felt more awkward after the first kiss you shared.
you’ve barely spoke with each other and your friends were starting to get concerned.
“he told me he doesn’t mind marrying me and spending the rest of his life with me” you pout.
yunjin and chaewon shout and giggled, “girl! he’s more than in love with you!! he’s lovesick!!” they both said.
“what did you answer then?” yunjin asked.
“i told him okay” you smacked your head on the table.
“no way” chaewon gasped.
“yes way” you whined.
“you’re stupid!!” they both smacked you.
“then!!” you shout, “we had our first kiss on dinner in front of our parents” you whispered that part.
“what did you say? couldn’t hear you” chaewon said.
“oh she said that they shared their first kiss on dinner with their— YOU HAD YOUR FIRST KISS WITH HEESEUNG??” yunjin’s eyes widened.
“what happened after that?” chaewon asked curiously.
“we just finished dinner, and now we barely even talk” you sighed, “each time i see him i’m just blushing and running away, i can’t face him!”
“you have to!! you’re moving in soon!!” yunjin argued and chaewon nodded.
“it’ll be the death of me” you sobbed and they chuckled.
you were right at first, but slowly and surely heeseung made a joke and both of you got back to normal in no time, as if nothing happened between you two.
you even helped him organizing his closet and his room, and he did the same.
after a long day you and heeseung finally laid down on your now shared sofa.
“it’s been a rough day” you sighed.
“should we order something?” he suggested and you nodded immediately. you ended up ordering your favorite food.
“let’s open up the picture!!” you said and grabbed the picture your mom gave you earlier today.
you and heeseung both unwrapped it together and revealed an old picture of you and heeseung hugging each other with a huge smile on your faces.
“look at us then and look at us now” he giggled.
both of you hanged the picture right above your sofa and kept staring at it for a while.
“hey hee,” you spoke, “yeah?”
“i wouldn’t mind marrying you and spending the rest of my days with you too” you turned to him, “until the day i die”
“is that your way of telling me you love me too?” heeseung froze for a second. you caught him off guard for the countless time already.
although he understood very clearly your feelings after you shared your first kiss, hearing your words made his heart beat fast.
it was a confirmation for him that all of his feelings for you were actually mutual all this time.
instead of answering his questions you grabbed his shirt and kissed him.
he put his hands around your waist and pushed you closer to him, holding you tightly as if he’s too scared to let you go.
breaking off the kiss was hard, but the lack of oxygen was kicking in, you pressed your foreheads together, still with your eyes closed.
“does that answer your question?” you giggled and you felt him smiling.
“i don’t think so, i need a bit more of it to feel certain” he teased and you tsked.
“i don’t need to be in a relationship with you to feel certain about my feelings and my willingness to marry you, i want to spend my life with you, i love you” you said and pecked his lips.
“i love you too, y/n” he pecked your lips again and it suddenly got into a fight between you two about who pecks the other more, until it ended up in a long, deep kiss.
“so let me get this straight. you and heeseung had been in denial for many many years and manipulated yourself into thinking that you don’t like each other at all at all, then when y/n’s desperate and broke ass heard of a chance to get a free dorm by getting married, she went up to you, heeseung, and asked her to marry you, you agreed to the proposal because at one point you stopped lying to yourself and realized you’re actually lovesick, and the rest is history” ni-ki finally breathed out after almost rapping this whole story.
“by history i mean y/n waking up from her denial and realizing her feelings to you” he added.
“yes, exactly” heeseung nodded and you chuckled.
you were sitting together with your friends on one table, yunjin and chaewon who were already aware of the story added a few notes here and there as ni-ki summarized your whole story.
“this is a story to tell your children” jay smiled and the rest nodded.
“we’re not planning to get pregnant anytime soon, we didn’t even have a wedding yet” you sighed.
“you never know y/n, you never know!” sunoo slowly nodded.
“why did you say that as if you went through something familiar” jungwon teased.
“you never know y/n, you never know!” sunghoon mocked sunoo.
“that was a good one!” jake laughed with him.
“children, literal children who found themselves in uni somehow” you sighed.
“at this point we won’t even need to have any children when we have them” heeseung agreed with you.
“it doesn’t matter, as long as i’m with you” you smiled and pecked his lips.
“get a room you two will you!”

Working for Family Video came with many upsides, especially when you worked with people who you also enjoyed seeing outside of the store. Rentals were already dirt cheap with your employee discount, and near expired candy and popcorn never quite made it into the dumpster out back and somehow magically appeared in your bag instead at the end of your shift.
You always liked to think that Family Video was sponsoring your bi-monthly movie nights with Steve and Robin. The Harrington household was always the meeting spot, as he was the only one who had a tv and VCR in his room. Well, you did as well now after Keith had tossed out an old player, saying it was broken. You’d brought it home to tinker with and found that some kid had stuck gum in the tape slot. It had taken you a week to clean and another month to figure out how to hook everything back up, but it was yours. Steve still had the nicer home and tv though, and more importantly his parents bought brand name snacks.
The three of you were in Steve’s living room, the movie playing on the screen long forgotten as the three of you caught up with each other. Robin was usually the barometer for if a movie was worth watching, she and Steve might have had very different tastes, but Steve would usually get sucked up into whatever movie she chose.
“So is his band any good?” Robin asked, dumping a bag of m&ms into her bowl of popcorn.
“I think so.” you shrugged, cracking open a drink. “If anything, they’re good enough to be scouted twice.”
“By the same person.” Steve pointed out. “You know, his ex.”
You had brought the news of Eddie’s meet up with Paige to your friends with mixed results. Robin seemed indifferent, but that’s because most of the time she didn’t have the same interest in talking about boys. Steve, however, seemed less than thrilled about this idea.
“Yes, Steve, his ex. As in, not together anymore.” you sighed, wishing you felt as confident as you sounded. “Whatever happened between them sounded like it blew up for both of them.”
“But she still wants to have lunch with him!” Steve said.
“Yes, to talk about the band!” you shot back. “And it’s lunch. Didn’t you tell me that dinner is a date and lunch is just two people hanging out?”
“Since when does my advice apply to you or Eddie?”
“Since Paige isn’t me or Eddie, so your dating advice might actually apply here.” you snapped and took a breath. “Sorry. This is all new to me. I’m really not sure how I’m supposed to feel right now. It’s like every time things start to go well with me and Eddie, something happens. Paige, Chris, you-”
“Hey-”
“I like him a lot.” You leaned back against the couch, grabbing the popcorn bowl from Robin. “When I’m with him, I get that same feeling that I do when I’m hanging out with you two or when I’m at the show every month. I don’t feel like I’m hiding myself when he’s around.”
“There are other weirdos and freaks around.” Steve pointed out. “If I had known there were that many of you around, I would have agreed to go to the show earlier to help you get phone numbers.”
“Yeah, but have you seen the way she looks when she’s talking about Eddie?” Robin hopped into the conversation. “I don’t think anyone even existed to her that night.”
It was true, no one other than your friends and (unfortunately) Chris had truly registered to you at the show. Yeah, you’d noticed the few cast members but they weren’t the metal head with the long hair and crop top that had held your hand all night.
“Oh shit, did I tell you guys that we ran into Chris?!” You asked suddenly, changing the subject.
“Wait, that guy you and Eddie kept talking shit about?” Steve turned to look at you, grabbing a handful of popcorn and getting crumbs on the couch.
“Yeah!” you said. “He actually works for the show now, I guess? He said he’s been there for a while and he’s seen me at the show before. It was so fucking weird.”
“Is that the guy who said you were too normal to play with Hellfire?” Robin asked.
You nodded. “Yeah, and he ran Hellfire into the ground until Eddie took over. And now he’s doing tech for the show. Also, he was Rocky in the shadow cast.”
“The guy in the metallic shorts?!” Steve gawked.
“Columbia did say that the cast changed for the night.” Robin said, and you gave her a quizzical look, remembering the lipstick mark you’d seen on her jaw that night. “She came by and talked to us before the show!”
“She couldn’t resist my charm.” Steve gave you a smile that you were sure worked with someone like Nancy Wheeler, or Tammy Thompson. You just shook your head and laughed.
“Right, anyway. Chris came and talked to us after the show and he told me auditions are gonna be open for the cast. He gave me his card, and told me that it was invite only.” you explained.
“You’ve been talking about wanting to be part of that since we started working together.” Steve said.
“Yeah, I guess I get a shot to do something, too.”
“Chris turned you down for Hellfire, and now is letting you audition?” Robin asked.
“We aren’t in school anymore.” you pointed out. “I know how it sounds, but none of us are the same people we were back then. I’m not the same person I was two years ago, none of us are.”
“I hate it when you’re right, you know.”
“I’m just saying that if I can give you the benefit of the doubt and make friends with you then maybe Chris isn’t as big of a prick as he was back then. I might not have even given Eddie a chance, either.” You picked out a few m&ms from the popcorn bucket, getting your fingers covered with butter and colored candy coating. “I mean, at the end of the day, isn't that what this whole deal was about? Shaking off old habits and trying to step outside of contentment?”
“I thought your deal was so that you can stop having Steve check you out every time you wanted to rent porn.” Robin snickered.
“I thought we were just trying to get dates.” Steve looked confused and you gave him a pat on the head. It always amused you how his hair could spring back into place like that.
“That too.” you said.
“So, you’re really okay with Eddie going to see his ex?” Steve said, forcing you back into that topic.
”I’m not thrilled about it.” You finally admitted. “But we only went on one date and this might help his band. Besides, if we start... Whatever this is without some sort of trust then is it even worth starting?”
“So you trust him?”
“I trust you and Dustin, who vouched for him. He was honest enough to tell me that it’s his ex who wants to talk about his band. What happens next is up to him.”
“I hope you know what you’re doing.” Steve relented and his eyes wandered back to the tv.
You didn’t, but you were tired of letting other people tell you what you should or shouldn’t do.
Ever since Benny’s shut down, there wasn’t really any good place to meet up with someone for lunch in town. Every time he had seen Paige before, it had either been at the Hideout, or his van. Neither of which was really a good place to talk about Corroded Coffin.
It was Paige’s idea to meet at the small hole-in-the-wall pub that was just out of Eddie’s comfort zone in terms of price. Eddie arrived on Saturday afternoon, earlier than he meant to with his nerves. He leaned against the wall outside of the pub, watched the cars go by as he waited for her.
She didn’t leave him waiting for long, and ten minutes before their agreed upon time, Paige was standing in front of him for the first time in over two years. She hadn’t grown an inch, but her wavy dark hair had, and now barely brushed her shoulders. In the daylight, Eddie could see a faint tint of red that he never noticed before. Other than two or three times, he realized that he and Paige had never spent a lot of time together when the sun was out. Paige’s freckles were as prominent as ever.
To Eddie’s surprise, she looked happy to see him.
“Hi, Eddie.” she said, and to his relief she didn’t go in for a hug.
“Hi, Paige.” He responded and reached over to open the door to the pub for her.
The two didn’t say anything until they were sitting at a dimly lit booth in the corner, where Paige broke the ice.
“Before we get into any business talk, I need you to be honest with me.” She started, sitting up straight and looking him in the eyes. “If you care about your future in music, and your band, you need to tell me what happened. Tell me how you ended up in jail two days before the most important moment in either of our careers.”
Eddie had expected this, and the past week had been spent trying to find a way to spin the story so that he didn’t look like the biggest asshole on the planet. In the end, he decided that he should be honest with her. Paige wanted real, and he would give that to her, tarnish and all.
Someone came by and took their drink orders, giving Eddie a moment to collect his thoughts.
“I did something stupid.” He started.
“Obviously.” She gave him a wry smile.
“Moving to California isn’t cheap.” He watched the tone of his voice, searching for that piece of him that made Hellfire and Corroded Coffin listen to him. Being a dungeon master for so long had given him a way of speaking that could draw someone in when he tried, and right now he knew he needed to try and convince Paige that Corroded Coffin deserved a second chance. “I needed a way to pay for everything that came with moving across country. My dad... he-” Eddie’s voice wavered for a brief moment. “He had an idea to make some quick cash for the two of us. It wasn’t smart, and it really wasn’t legal.”
“Jesus,” Paige sighed, looking at him with a deep frown. “I would have helped you, Eddie. I was already willing to let you live with me for free until we got you set up. I told you that you didn’t have to be alone in this.”
Asking for and accepting help wasn’t something that Eddie was ever good at. He’d been hyper-independent since he was a child, when his dad would disappear for long stretches of time, even after his mom died. Asking for help after (or especially because) Paige had put in so much money and effort for him already, wasn’t something that he could bring himself to do.
“I know.” Eddie said. “I had this stupid idea that if I didn’t make the effort on my own, then I didn’t deserve the change. So I did something stupid, really fucking stupid, and it cost me everything.”
“Mark told me that you shot a cop.” Paige said, and before Eddie could speak up, she continued. “I didn’t believe him. When I wired the money, I was able to get an idea of what happened. You saved that guys life.”
“I couldn’t let him just bleed out on my yard.” Eddie said. “I couldn’t- it wouldn’t be right to run away like that.”
“You really caused a lot of trouble, you know that?”
“I know.” Eddie took a deep breath and looked into her eyes. “I’m sorry. I fucked up. I did a lot of stupid shit I shouldn’t have, and I paid the price. It cost me more than just the audition.”
There was a time between getting the news about his audition with WR Records and the heist that Eddie flew. He had everything he had ever wanted; he got the girl, had his dad back, he had a future, which was something he never thought he’d have. For a few beautiful weeks, he had spiraled up, up, and up.
In the end though, what goes up must come down. Eddie had reached for something that would never be meant for someone with the last name ‘Munson’. He had crashed back down to earth, to the reality of who he was and it had cost him everything. His dad, his childhood house, his audition, Paige, and even Ronnie for a short time.
For the next two years, Eddie swore to never even think about reaching for the sun again.
“Thank you for being honest with me.” Paige said. “I still think you’re an asshole.”
“I was an asshole.” He didn’t even try to fight it. “The biggest one in Hawkins.”
Even with her declaration, Paige still had a look on her face that was the ghost of an expression she had in the passenger side of his van on the night that she had given him the news that WR Records had liked him.
“Things went downhill for me when you bailed on the audition.” Paige said, and Eddie swallowed, his mouth feeling dry. He had never known what had happened with her after their fight over the phone. “I got in a lot of trouble because of you. Davey doesn’t like anyone, but he liked you. When I couldn’t get you out there, it really screwed up any trust I had with my job.”
She stopped talking for a moment as a waiter came by and dropped off their food. Eddie couldn’t bring himself to touch the overpriced sandwich in front of him yet. His mouth felt dry and he reached for his water instead.
“I was stuck in a dead end job, where any talent I tried to bring to the label was shot down without being given a chance. I was being paid to do nothing, except babysit the studio and paperwork. I got demoted, and I was already at the bottom of the totem pole.” Paige never looked away from Eddie, her gaze unflinching and sharp. “I stopped liking music.”
Guilt washed over Eddie, and there was something in him that screamed at him to run away to avoid this. Being the reason someone stopped liking music? He knew he’d fucked up but that... that was something deeper than just missing an audition.
“They didn’t have the means to really fire me, I hadn’t done anything wrong.” she continued. “They moved me to a smaller label under the WR name. That label was where acts they had given up on went to die.”
“Which label?” Eddie managed to ask, despite how dry his mouth felt. Even the water wasn’t helping.
“Left Turn Media.” Paige said.
During those weeks when things had been good between the two of them, Paige had mentioned the label once or twice. It was considered a death sentence to be put on that label, and working for them was WR’s way to get people to quit without firing them. The two had listened to a few cassettes from the label. The bands weren’t bad, and that was what stuck out to Eddie. The music wasn’t bad, but it was clear that the production was lacking and half-assed. Paige said that the music would be sent out to small radio stations to be played in the middle of the night.
“Shit.” Eddie said.
“Yeah, shit.” Paige let out a laugh. “But if there’s one thing I am, it’s stubborn. I threw myself into my work. I’ve been spending the last two years breaking down and completely reassembling Left Turn, and now I’m in charge of it.”
“You.” His eyes went wide as he stared at her. “You’re in charge of Left Turn Media.”
“It’s amazing what you can do when you’re pissed and have something to prove.” Paige shrugged. “I had a lot of time to think about my relationship with music in the last few years. I realized if I wanted to bring something real to the music scene of L.A. I was going to have to do it myself.”
Her dark lips curled up into a smile. “I should almost thank you for fucking up. Because you bailed, I was put in charge of a sinking ship. I patched it up with my own time and money and now Left Turn has become the label for all misfit bands who don’t fit any shiny polished label. I proved to myself and everyone around me that I belong in this industry.”
“I-” Eddie wasn’t sure how he was supposed to respond to that. “You’re welcome...?”
“We’re expanding the label outside of California.” She continued. “I’m in charge so I’m trying to bring good music to my hometown. It’s still not the biggest label, and we can’t offer half of what the bigger labels would, but it’s something.”
“And what are you offering?” Eddie felt dizzy, the more she talked. His words were careful, as if asking the wrong question could end in another blow up between the two of them.
“What I’m offering is another chance for Corroded Coffin to be signed.” Paige’s arms crossed over her chest. “Left Turn is still finding its footing outside of L.A., so we’re flexible. I’m here to work with local radio and college stations around Indiana to get them to play the few bands we’ve signed so far. Who we have are okay, but they aren’t...”
“Real?”
“Eddie you have something, as much as I never wanted to admit it again after what happened between us. There’s something about the way that you play that I haven’t been able to find since. I could do this without you, but I think that this is the real sink or swim moment. WR Records goes on with or without you, but I think what you have is what could turn Left Turn around.” Page took a deep breath. “If Corroded Coffin wants another shot, this would be it. If you still have that do-or-die energy when you play, I could offer you a real deal to put together an album. I could get you on the radio.”
Eddie listened to her words, taking in what she was offering. Yes, it wouldn’t be the easy street that WR would have been able to offer, but it would be something. And this time, it wouldn’t just be him auditioning, but Corroded Coffin was wanted this time.
“You’re serious.” Eddie said, his heart rate picking up.
“As serious as shooting a cop.”
“Jesus.” Eddie couldn’t stop himself from letting out a laugh. He ran his fingers through his hair, messing up his fringe as he replayed everything that Paige had just told him in his mind. She wanted him to audition again. This was a chance that he wasn’t sure could be passed up.
“Some of the band is still in high school.” He said, feeling reality settle like a stone in his stomach. He didn’t mention that his name was on that roster.
“Like I said, we’re flexible.” Paige said. “I still need you all to audition again, and even then it’s going to take me a few months to set anything up here for the band. I want you all to audition with me and a few others from the label before the end of the year. If everything goes according to plan, Left Turn might have the recording studio ready by next June.”
“You’re setting up your own recording studio?” Eddie perked up, the anxiety and guilt that he had originally felt was now shifting into something new. He found himself relaxing enough to eat his overpriced sandwich.
“Yes. We need something that’s a step above Live Mike Studios in Lafayette. We have the building picked out and are already gutting it for Left Turn.”
“You’ve really thought of everything, haven’t you?” Eddie smiled at her.
“I have.” Paige agreed. “But I learned not to put all my eggs into one basket. This industry has taught me to have a plan A, B C, and D.” She let out a long sigh. “I made it to plan L before and I would prefer not to do that again.”
“What was plan L?”
“If I go into the whole story, I’ll need a strong drink. It involved a guitar player with his head up his ass thinking he was going to be the next Gene Simmons.” Paige groaned.
“Gene Simmons doesn’t play guitar.” Eddie pointed out. Paige gave him a thousand yard stare, which said everything he needed to know. “Ok. Gotcha.”
“I’m hoping to get everything set up with minimal surprises.” She concluded. “Get with your band. I’m going to be in town for the rest of the year setting things up.”
Eddie nodded. “So... why Indiana?” he asked. “You were in California. Why come back here to set this up?”
“Like I said, I want to bring good music to my hometown. Once everything’s done, I’ll be able to move back and forth from California to here.”
“And Corroded Coffin?”
“Will stay in Indiana.” She said firmly. “I can’t turn you into the Rock Hero you could have been two years ago, but I can try and make you a Hometown Hero.”
Another story. Paige had always been good at spinning stories. Once upon a time, Eddie had been a barback turned frontman turned Rock Hero. Now he’d be barback turned frontman turned Hometown Hero. That part felt less believable than before.
That’s how Paige saw him, but how did he see himself? Barback turned front man turned drug thief turned drug dealer turned uber senior? None of that was a story worth selling. And what about the rest of his band? Would Gareth, Jeff, or Zack want to be part of this? Ronnie hadn’t, she just wanted to play just to play. Jeff had been excited about this when the opportunity was first presented, but would he still want the chance? Gareth was the youngest and still had over a year of school left.
One thing at a time.
“I’ll talk to the guys next practice.” Eddie said.
“Good. Are you still playing at the Hideout?” Paige asked.
Eddie froze for a second, as he imagined Paige and you in the same space to watch him play. He imagined your excited face, and the way you would cheer for them after every song, the excitement that radiated off of you after every set. Even earlier this week, when you’d dropped by to watch them, knowing that Eddie was going to see Paige, you’d still shown the same enthusiasm as before.
He’d thrown you another pick. You’d handed it back to him at the end of the night, telling him that he could toss it at you again next week.
“You look like someone who loses your picks the second they are out of your sight.”
You’d been right. The only one he could consistently find was the one he’d turned into a necklace. His dad’s picks had been packed away, shoved under his bed where he wouldn’t see them. Eddie didn’t use those picks anymore.
A few weeks ago, he couldn’t stop comparing you to Paige, but now he couldn’t stop thinking about how different you two were.
“Yeah, we play on Tuesdays now.” Eddie said. “People stopped complaining enough that Bev decided to give us a steady slot.”
“Good to know.” Paige said. She wasn’t confirming or denying if she’d show up, but that look in her eyes said that he could expect to see her again soon.
After all, The Hideout was the only place in twenty miles of Hawkins that offered any live music.
For the rest of the meal, the two caught up with each other. It didn’t feel as weird as Eddie would have expected, but it was nice. He let Paige do most of the talking, letting her tell him about her work in the industry, he didn’t need her knowing more than she needed to if he wanted to have this shot. Would she want to sign a bunch of high schoolers? He hadn’t even told Paige the first time that he had dropped out when Higgins blackmailed him.
That was alright for now though. Paige talking meant that he didn’t have to and he added to the conversation by asking plenty of questions about her work. Hearing about the music industry from her end was something that he had a genuine interest in, anyway.
Paige told him about how she had been given a copy of Iron’s Maiden’s Live After Death by Davey. She was even willing to make Eddie a copy of it. It wasn’t the video, but he wasn’t about to turn down audio of one of his favorite bands that wasn’t even released in the US.
When the check came, Paige didn’t even blink as she paid the tab and the two of them made their way outside again. It was still pretty early in the afternoon, and the chill of the late autumn air contrasted the bright blue sky.
Trying to still be somewhat of a gentleman, Eddie walked Paige to her car as she recounted the tale of how she had been on the flight from Indianapolis to Los Angeles where Izzy Stradlin had been arrested for pissing in front of everyone.
Paige stopped with her hand on the door to her car before turning around to face Eddie before getting in.
“I don’t hate you, you know.” she said. “I was mad for a really long time at what you did. But I don’t think you’re a bad guy, Eddie.”
Eddie didn’t feel like he deserved the forgiveness she was offering him. Being told that he was anything other than some satanic cult leader or freak wasn’t something he’d ever get used to.
“Paige I...” He wasn’t sure what to say.
She had that look in her eyes, the same look she’d had after she’d given him the news about his original audition. What are you waiting for? Paige was moving closer, freckles like constellations on her skin and the moon in her eyes eclipsed by her eyelids.
Eddie's hand fell on Paige’s shoulder before her lips could get any closer to his. “I can’t.” he said.
Her face went through a few emotions. Surprise, disappointment, and settling on embarrassment.
“Shit. Sorry.” Paige said, shaking her head.
“No it’s.. It’s fine.” Eddie said, and he could have sworn that Paige looked just as confused as he did. “I don’t think it’s a great idea to do.... That.”
Eddie hadn’t once entertained the idea of Paige and him together again. It didn’t feel right. He wouldn’t lie and say that he didn’t find her attractive, but it wasn’t the same feeling he got that first night in the Hideout. As a teen, he’d been thrilled that a pretty girl was paying any attention to him at all, and was willing to do anything and be anything she wanted.
Any relationship with Paige was business, plain and simple. She wanted a Rock Hero to help her get up the ladder, Eddie wanted to make it with his band. Sex had just been a bonus in their past relationship. Paige knew her stuff with music and the industry, but she didn’t rant about Ozzy and his bats, or have a real interest in D&D or put herself out there the same way that you-
“I’m seeing someone.” He blurted out before Paige could say anything else.
Paige looked surprised for a moment and shook her head and laughed. “Right. That... I’m sorry. I don’t even know why I did that.” she admitted. “I guess I got swept up in this stupid fantasy about being a power couple. We’re a bad idea.”
“I’m sorry.” Eddie said, not sure what else could be said in this situation.
“Don’t be. You’re right, ‘us’ is a bad idea.” she ran her fingers through her hair. “It’s a good thing my offer isn’t dependent on if we’re sleeping together or not.”
“I know you bought me lunch, are giving my band a second chance, and forgave me for one of the biggest fuck ups of my life, but I don’t put out that easy.” Eddie smiled at her, trying to lighten the mood.
Paige offered her hand and Eddie took it. “Business only then.” she said. “Talk to your band and call me to set up the audition.”
Eddie watched Paige’s car drive off, and suddenly felt a lot lighter. He blasted his music and drove home, nearly laughing like a maniac. Today had been a wild roller coaster of emotions, and he couldn’t wait until the next band practice to bring the news to his band.
At home, he grabbed his guitar and immediately began sorting through Corroded Coffin’s small pile of original songs, and the covers that they were able to perform the best. Eddie was off, lost in his own world as he wrote, re-wrote, and re-worked the set list.
What would you think? Would you be excited for him? If this worked, he was going to make sure to get you concert tickets. Okay, he was getting ahead of himself. Maybe you could at least come for the audition as moral support. His band liked you, so maybe they wouldn’t mind.
Eddie didn’t come back down to Earth until the phone rang that evening after Wayne went to work. He almost missed the call because of how deep he was into perfecting the riff that had eluded him for the past few months, determined now more than ever to get it down.
He reached the phone on the last possible ring. “Hello?”
“Hey... Eddie?” Your voice cracked over the phone, and that feeling of excitement came crashing down. “Sorry I... Can you come pick me up? I’m at home.”
You were crying. He could hear it in the way your voice strained and cracked. He was already reaching for his keys.
“I’ll be right there.”
a/n: As I stated before, I do like to try and keep everything as time accurate as possible. However things happen, and sometimes things are too good not to use. The Izzy Stradlin incident did not happen until 1989, but the fact that it was on a flight from Indianapolis to LA was too good to pass up. I also would like to notate that I did make a mistake when it came to the Ozzy Bat Incident. It was not a 17 year old girl, it was a 17 year old boy and the bat was already dead. Chalk that inaccuracy up to the tabloids of the time, and the lack of Google. No, this will not be addressed in the future of the fic unless it’s funny.

✧ Sundress
Janis ‘Imi’ike x shy fem! reader + Regina George x Cady Heron
Warnings: MDNI, smut. Semi-public sex, group sex, oral, fingering, spanking, mild degradation(reader receiving)
In which, Janis can’t get enough of reader’s sundress and an afternoon out by the pool turned into something more
The spring season had just rolled around but there was something unusual about it...how warm the weather was. It already felt like summer despite it being several months away. Trying to make the best of it, you and Janis decided to head over to Regina's to hang out since it was currently spring break. Janis got into the driver's seat with you in the passenger's side. And it was like a switched flipped in her once she started driving. Her hands were all over you while you sat uncomfortably. You shot her a look, displeased right as she stopped at a light. "Babe, what the hell are you doing?"
"You look so cute in that dress..." She grins, hand squeezing your thigh, "God...I wish I could just eat you up."
You snorted a laugh, "I'm not about to have you pull over somewhere just so you can eat me out." "Who says I have to do that to make you feel good, baby?" A smirk forms on her face as her fingers started to trail your thigh, making you squirm because you were ticklish. As much as you tried to play it cool, you couldn't deny that you were becoming just a little turned on by the idea. You shrug. "So you're okay with it?" Janis asks for confirmation.
"Yeah." You answered curtly. Her hand moved to the space between your thighs and you feel her fingers push your underwear out of the way before they began to tease your folds. Truthfully, this whole situation made you a little nervous, but it wasn't like you had the time to think about that. Janis was skilful at making you wet- meaning it never took her long to have you ready to take her fingers or her mouth...or whatever else she had in store for you. Of course, you finding her to be so incredibly attractive also helps when you allowed your mind to wander. The tenderness of her gesture combined with the warmth radiating from her hand was a sure-fire way to rile you up- and the weather? Things were strangely in both of your favours. Janis alternated between finger-fucking you and rubbing your clit which was only just enough to stimulate you and always had you yearning for more. You'd been biting down on your lower lip so you didn't make any noise of seemed suspicious to any possible onlookers, so when Janis finally pulled up in front of Regina's mansion after literally edging you for a half hour you just had to kiss her.
"Calm down, y/n..." She chuckles lowly, hand around the back of your head to pull you in for another kiss, "Hard to think that you said you didn't want to get fucked like this while on our way here, huh? Now you're so needy, aren't you? Can't keep your hands off me."
After a few minutes of a handsy make-out, you both quickly straightened up and rang Regina's doorbell. Seconds later, the door swung open to reveal Cady, wearing a halter swim top and boyshorts. Regina showed up behind her wearing a bikini.
"Oh, fuck me." You mumbled incoherently.
"Baby, I so would." Janis laughs, side stepping the couple to enter. You do the same, your eyes avoiding them.
"What's up with your lip?" Regina asks almost immediately, sitting down on a in-pool lounge chair.
"Nothing." You lie, not about to reveal the sexual antic in the car to the most popular girl in school.
"Yeah, everyone shows up with a bleeding lip and messy hair to my house." She scoffs. "So unless you got into a fight, Janis totally had her way with you in the car." You blushed, sipping your can of soda. You looked at Janis uncomfortably, she just looked at you with a smirk. "Did you seriously wear a t-shirt to the pool, 'Imi'ike? Come on, just take it off- the weather's fucking hot. I'm not gonna save you if you fall in the pool and hit your head."
"I don't see either of you telling her to do the same." Janis retorted, pointing to you.
"She's shy, I'm not gonna force her to do that." Regina chuckles over her words, swirling the drink in the can.
"She seems pretty mad at you." Cady mentioned to Janis.
"No, she's not." Janis said back, the smirk still on her face.
"Well, she looks-"
"Sweetie, I think y/n's just a little...bothered." Regina leans closer to the redhead beside her.
It took a second but, "Oh. Oh, okay. Sorry, I uh- sorry."
Janis snorted trying not to laugh. Regina looks at her amused, "That's the last thing you should be feeling. I feel like we should just...fuck." "What?" Cady shot the blonde a bewildered look. Regina wasn't joking.
"We're all thinking about it...come on." Regina laughs, looking at you then at Janis. "I mean, not exactly like this but now that we're all just here, why not?"
You were still avoiding eye contact with anyone who wasn't your girlfriend, and now maybe even your girlfriend too. But, your body seems to know what it wanted before your mind did, sending a rush of heat down south.
"Look at this poor thing, crossing her legs." Regina brought the attention onto you, glancing at Janis who manages to give her a shrug, "First time for everything right?" "Cady?" Regina asks, looking over her shoulder. "Well..." Cady exhaled, her nostrils flaring, "I'll admit that's always been a fantasy of mine."
"y/n?" Regina asks you softly, complete opposite of her usual tone of voice. It made your heart flutter unwillingly as you licked your lips and flinched at the sore spot.
"If you don't wanna do it, you can just watch...or do whatever you want in this house. She has plenty of games and shit." Janis scooted closer to you to speak, "I don't want you to be uncomfortable. Or I could just take you to the bathroom and y'know."
"The bathroom? You might as well fuck her out here in the open if you want to pick that place. I have guest rooms, Janis." Regina was offended. Your hear Cady laugh, and Janis' eyes leave you. Then, her gaze returns. You look at her. "It's okay, just- let's just do it here. Fuck it." You decided. There was definitely some shock in her eyes when she heard that, but she was genuinely concerned, "Are you sure?"
You nodded silently. "Okay." She cups your cheek in her hand, pulling you closer, "Looks like we're doin' it."
"Safe word is red." Regina declared. Janis immediately attacked your lips with hungry kisses and naturally, she managed to pick you up onto her lap without breaking the contact one bit. "So are we all just focusing on her first or what?" Regina was suddenly beside you. Janis annoyedly yanked the blonde to your chest. "Alright, then." The blonde was impressed, sharing a look with Cady then tilting her head towards you.
"Just...do whatever you think will feel good." Regina encouraged. Your eyes peeled open briefly and you saw the blonde sitting on the floor — in the water, right in front of your face. Your cheeks flushed as she put a finger through the shoulder strap of your sundress, pushing it down just enough to reveal your breast. While Janis trailed wet kisses down from your lips to your jaw, you let a whimper slip when she found the particularly sensitive spot on your neck. With Cady's hand still stagnant on your thigh, you feel Regina pinching your nipple. That was when Cady started to grope your thigh, moving in sync with her girlfriend's movement. This 'triple-threat' clouded your mind so quickly that you forgot what you were even apprehensive of. You simply had not a single second to think about anything then the rapidly growing pleasure.
————
Janis removes you from her lap, causing them all to detach from you. But before you could grumble, your girlfriend was straddling you, pushing down the other strap of your dress and smoothly pulling the piece of clothing off downwards. Now in nothing but your soaked underwear, the moment of sobriety hits- making you acutely aware that you were almost fully undressed in front of people who wasn't your girlfriend. Regina took this as an opportunity to attach her mouth onto your breast, sucking on it expertly. You whimpered aloud, but the noise was quickly swallowed by Janis' unending kisses. Then, you feel your legs get pushed apart and the absence of a pair of lips on yours. Your eyes darted downwards and saw Janis face to face with your pussy. And Cady...she was- oh, now working your other breast, pinching and twisting the hardened tip like no one's business. As you tried to fight the urge to kiss someone, Janis' tongue lightly flicked your heated clit, watching your reactions closely. But her gently moves were no longer sufficient. You blindly found her head and held her close with your hand. Regina pulls away from you to watch your face, as you whined about the loss of that one form of stimulation, your eyes somehow saw the blonde touching herself. "OH, fuck." You panted, "Regina - can- can I kiss you?"
"Thought you'd never ask." She smirked, your head tilted to capture her lips, her hand was cupping your cheek to keep you from moving- just like how Janis' was, so that you were not squirming about. Cady begins to suck on your neck so aggressively that you simply found it impossible to hold back anymore - a particular loud whine echoed through the space when Cady also found the same sensitive spot in the crook of your neck. Regina laughs into the kiss, Janis responded by squeezing your thigh- all of which to force you to open your mouth and let them hear you.
"Let me hear you, okay, baby?" Janis requested gently knowing that it'd definitely work on you.
"Are we making you feel so good, y/n?" Regina's hand migrated to your chin, managing to squeeze just about both of your cheeks, you nodded impatiently, "I wanna hear you, okay? No more holding back. Me, Janis and Cady want to hear just how good we're fucking you, you little slut."
"Hey!" Janis exclaimed with a gasp.
"I-it's fine." You swallowed harshly, "Ja- Janis, keep going." She didn't say anything but you felt her again, so there's that. You felt yourself approaching the peak at a steady pace, but when you felt two fingers slip inside of you, the paced just picked up a ton. Especially with Cady apparently now rubbing your clit to add on to it. You felt the need to go onto your side, and they didn't stop you but just went along with it. Janis couldn't care about how you were presented in front of her, as long as she could continue sucking you dry and making you cry— almost. Regina stuck her tongue into your mouth making you moan in return. And fucking hell, this whole set up was something you never thought you'd be involved in, yet here you are being the centre of attention. "She's crying, Janis." Regina realised as she broke away, "You alright?" As dirty this act felt, you knew they all cared about you. It wasn't just for them. But because Regina pulled away from the kiss, so did your hand on her breast.
"I'm fine—" You assured, back arching off the chair at the same time you fell back flat on it. Janis was forcing your legs open at this point, assaulting your nearly-overstimulated bundle of nerves to get you over the edge. "She's close." Janis spoke while her face was buried in you, it made you cry out. Then her tongue pushes into your entrance just to give you more. "Fuck!" You let out, nearly screaming. Everything- every little bit of touch, contact, anything at all sent shocks down your spine as you inched closer to your high. There was no doubt both Janis and Cady could feel how erratic you were. But Regina was no fool, giving you all that she's got to help the two girls shove you into overdrive. Janis smacks you repeatedly, sending needy noises and vulgarities spewing from your usually nice mouth. The three of them ogling at you while you started seeing stars, feeling yourself throbbing. "God, y/n. i never would've expected this from you...so loud." She chuckles into your ear, "I'm so close too, baby. Keep going, that's it- let me hear you moaning and whining for us, you little plaything..."
"Cads, switch please?" Regina asks hopefully, right at the second where Janis stops everything.
"Oh, my God..." You squirmed, "Janis-"
Cady quietly switched places wth Regina, allowing the blonde to finally feast her eyes on your drenched cunt. But that wasn't all...no. She didn't just take her spot. Regina fucking George climbs on top of you, her legs bracketing either of your sides. Her bare ass hovering above your face, her voluptuous breasts pressed against your torso were not on your list of possible occurrences — ever.
Holding her hair out of the way in one hand, Regina proceeds to traap your clit in her mouth. "Oh, my God—" Three words. That's all you could get out before Cady tilts your head towards her and kissed you. She shut you up, but your mouth wanted to moan, whimper, whine...all of it. You couldn't take this intensity much longer: Cady was groping your breasts and making out with you, Regina was sucking onto your clit like it was candy and Janis? She was as good as slamming into your sore cunt like this was her last chance to do so. All of them were merciless, savouring your moment of desire for touch. And more. All of them had one goal in mind...
You somehow manage to get out of Cady's hold on you, "Shit, guys- I'm so —" They didn't want that- they wanted to hear your needy little noises. They were a determined trio, and you easily submitted to them being so close. You were holding back your orgasm, wanting to feel more until you absolutely couldn't take it. "Think you can give us one, my love?" Janis peppered soft kisses on your inner thighs, her fingers still going in and out of you but sluggishly. You reflexively shook your head no, wanting her to go faster. "Please go faster, Janis. Please." You begged tearfully. "I need- I want more."
Her fingers rammed into you just like you'd asked, the other two of them picking up their paces too as you wished for. The coil in your core threatens to let go. You whined loudly, and it was like they could read your mind. "Come on, baby. I know you can do it." Janis coaxed, "Come for me, baby..." She feels your muscles clenching and she pokes at your g-spot intentionally for a few times before retracting her fingers. "Off." Janis demanded and the blonde quickly detached her mouth to let Janis take you. You unraveled, back arching off the surface as the release gushed from you into her mouth. Janis chuckles contently, kissing you there before lapping you up. You were moaning throughout each second of your orgasm, giving their eyes and ears a sinful treat.
Janis was trying to clean you up but the blonde and her redhead clearly had other ideas. "I think she can give us one more, Janis. What do you think?" Cady asks.
As much as Janis was worried, seeing how badly your body trembled, she was the only one who knew for a fact you could come again. She's done it before- and during both your first times. "Are you up for it, my love?"
Your mind's turned to mush, desperate for more pleasure. Still hearing your heart pounding in your ears, you gave them the green light and so, they carried out their ministrations for a second time from you. Janis let them do it- Regina rubs your clit while Cady finally had her turn to fuck you with her fingers. Janis watched, enjoying the little show before her eyes. Before any of you knew it, the clear gush of liquid proceeded to come out of you nearly drenching Janis in the face. "Holy shit." Regina stops, chuckling in disbelief. "Wow." Cady pulls her slicked covered fingers out swiftly, tempted to lick them clean. Regina notices and just put them into the redhead's move, raising a brow, "Go on, taste her." Regina climbs off of you, letting Janis take over. "Good girl." Janis presses a kiss to your lips, "You're alright, hm?"
"I know," You said back tearfully, "I know, I just- oh. my. god."
"You did incredible." Regina winked, "It was good, wasn't it?"
"Good?" You panted, "I can barely breathe now."
"Never would've thought something like this would actually happen." Cady grins, "You...taste so sweet."
"I know." Janis smirked, kissing you again.
"We should do this again." Regina decided.
"Not today you're not." You instantly informed her.
Regina shrugged calmly, "Sure, you watch us three then."

SUMMARY: Yuji's picked up skating and Choso wants to as well - problem is, he's got two left feet. And that's where you, Yuki's extremely good-looking friend, come in. A/N: SINCERELY SORRY IF YOU GUYS CAN'T SKATE ice skating is a pastime of mine and grrrr Choso skating was doing things to me. Requested by the lovely @ash4ree, I hope you like it! WARNINGS: GN reader, modern AU where Choso and Yuki run a tattoo parlour and no swears this time I swear (whoops, one right there)
“…Kamo, I think you better let me take over the cashier. You’re really spacing out hard.”
“Huh - what - oh, sorry, Yuki.” The man shook himself out of his daze, running a tense hand through the untidy strands falling out of his two spiky buns. He takes the proffered thermos and downs a gulp of coffee, grimacing and opening his mouth to fan his tongue. “Crap, I forgot it was hot.”
“Case in point,” the blonde announces, gently elbowing him away from the counter. “Go get your lunch break, dummy. You’re not helping sales if you just stand there staring out the store like a creep. Did something happen?”
Choso reluctantly peeled himself away and began looking for his packed lunch. “Not really.”
“Not sleep well last night?”
“No, no, I slept fine.”
“Well, you’ve been doing a pretty good job with latest customer’s tattoos, so it can’t possibly be work related…” Yuki tapped her chin. “Did you poke yourself with the a needle by mistake again?’
“It was one time.”
“You’ve got that constipated look,” Yuki hummed and wished she had a camera to capture Choso’s protesting, open-mouthed expression. “Wait, wait, I’ve got it! Yuji?”
“Well…” Choso’s face softened, as it usually did whenever someone mentioned his younger brother. It was usually followed by a long winded ramble about whatever Yuji had been doing yesterday, accompanied by aggressively showing photos and rhetorical questions. Yuki was sure this time he had something else to say so she stuck around, but if he was going to start she was going to exclaim that she had to go somewhere important or distract him with the ever trusty “have you put up the new tat designs yet?”.
“You remember his friend, Megumi?”
“Gojo’s kid? Yeah, I remember him; porcupine hair, grumpy face, about yea high?”
“That’s the one. Anyways, he and his sister - Tsumiki, I think - took up ice skating recently.”
“Rich people thing, but what does this have to do with Yuji?”
“Now Yuji wants to learn to skate as well.” Choso awkwardly scratched the back of his neck.
Yuki raised her eyebrows. “If it’s about money I keep telling you you can take all the tips-”
“No, it’ll be unfair if we don’t split!” Noble as always was Choso. Sigh. “Money’s not the problem. Gojo’s happy to sponsor and all I have to do is send him off to the rink anyway…”
“So what IS the problem?” Yuki prodded.
“…I tried to go with him yesterday.” Choso groaned and put his head into his hands. “I don’t know how to skate. At all.”
“You can learn, it can’t be that bad.”
“It was. I fell down about thirty times, Yuji counted. I can’t believe even Megumi is doing better than me.” Choso’s face turned wistful. “Yuji said it’s okay if I didn’t go with him next time, but I do, you know?”
Yuki, unfortunately, did know. Choso was THAT dream brother, the one who enthusiastically got into everything you did. The one who never, ever missed a single important competition, performance or playdate in your life. The one who did his absolute best to never embarrass you (obviously he did sometimes, but only because he was so proud of Yuji). The one who if you said you wanted the moon to be hung in your bedroom, he’ll hang the moon in your bedroom.
No surprise he would want to try and bond with Yuji with his latest hyper-fixation.
No surprise either he’d worry that he’d be making Yuji embarrassed that his big brother was such a klutz in the ice rink.
“It’ll be cool to skate together,” Choso finished hopefully.
Briefly Yuki flashed back to the time Yuji wanted tattoos like his elder brother and she had to talk him out of actually considering giving Yuji real, permanent tats, compromising with those tacky but washable ones.
“But even the staff there couldn’t help me.”
Now, the imaginary commentator would bellow, may we be proud to present, Yuki Tsukumo here to save the day!
Yuki smirked and slung a hand over his shoulders, a grin too wide to not be sneaky. “Don’t worry, Kamo! Big Sis Yuki’s got your back - I know someone who’ll be more than happy to help you if I pull in a couple of favors!”
“Really?” Predictably Choso brightened considerably. “Woah, thanks-”
“But first.” Yuki pushed him away to loom over him at arms length, eyes narrowed, assessing. “You haven’t answered me. What’s your type?”
***
“Hi Yuji.”
“Megumi! Guess what! Choso’s going to be skating today!” Yuji nimbly jumped inside the car, practically vibrating with excitement as he plopped down next to Megumi.
“With us?” The dark-haired boy’s usual frown deepened slightly. “Doesn’t he keep falling though?”
Yuji smiles wide enough for everyone to see his missing tooth. “I know! It’s so funny! But-” he motioned for Megumi to come closer, cupping his hand to his mouth in a conspiratorial whisper. “Someone else’s coming to give him lessons. Yuki-san told me so!”
“Who? Choso only has two friends and none of them know how to skate.” If Mahito, the creepy blue-haired man that the older brother sometimes hung out with did know how to ice skate…well, neither of them knew, mostly due to the fact he was too creepy to talk to despite his outwardly friendly appearance.
“You only have one friend as well, Megumi, and that’s me,” Yuji said bluntly, blissfully oblivious to Megumi’s disgruntled attitude at that statement. “I don’t know who it is but he’ll be coming soon with them to skate! That’ll be so cool if Choso made a new friend!”
Megumi flashed back to the time Yuji attempted to have the grocery store cashier “befriend” Choso, namely by having the both of them go find him when he disappeared somewhere in the freezer aisle. It did not end well but apparently his myopic friend didn’t think so. “Whatever you’d like to think.”
“Aw, Megumi, play nice! I’m sure it’ll be sooo cool if Choso made a new friend!” Up front in the passenger seat Gojo cackled, long legs awkwardly propped up on the dash. “Heavens knows he needs some. He can’t keep babysitting you, Tsumiki, Nanako, Mimiko and Yuji and call you guys his friends.”
“Why not? I’m not his friend?” Yuji looks horrified.
“Technically you’re his brother - ow!”
Geto, the exhausted-running-on-only-caffeine driver, retracts the hand he used to rap Gojo’s head with. “Don’t act so energetic when you did nothing to help me send off all the kids.”
“Hey! I helped Tsumiki get her bag and made the twins put on jackets and literally everything else you told me to do!”
“You forgot to pack my gloves,” Megumi said flatly.
“I didn’t see you driving Tsumiki to her book club or volunteering to help at Nanako’s photography club event or arranging time for Mimiko’s ballet recital or helping get their snacks ready or go wash the dishes in the sink from breakfast, which not only did I tell you to do but it’s your turn.”
“Suguru, you really wound me.” Gojo pretended to choke on tears.
Yuji burst out laughing. “Woah, Gojo-san is really useless!”
“Is that any way to treat the man who assisted in opening your brother’s tattoo parlor, young man?”
“Geto made you,” Megumi said again.
“I’m not listening to a snot-nosed brat who can’t even tie the laces to his skates,” Gojo declared.
Geto steered the car into the drop-off point, clearing his throat to be heard as he unlocked the doors. “He’s your kid, Satoru. Anyways, kiddos, I’ll be dropping you both here. Be good, don’t do anything Gojo would and Megumi better be there when I come to pick him both up. If Choso’s taking you both out to eat though, let me know or tell him to give me a call.”
“Noted with thanks.” Megumi exited the car swiftly, but not before gesturing rudely at his guardian.
“Now where did he learn that, I wonder?” Geto muttered, side eyeing the passenger princess. Gojo ignored him.
“Bye Geto-san! Bye Gojo-san! See you guys later!” Yuji’s hand waves wildly as he hops off.
Gojo rolls down the window to catcall one more time, pushing down his sunglasses. “Hey, kid, hope you’re ready to get a new sibling~”
“What?”
“Sibling-in-law,” Geto corrected, and they drove off.
***
Yuki had told him some basic facts about you. Your name, your age, your job, for instance.
She completely neglected to mention how amazing you looked.
Choso was glad he had decided to throw in a little more effort into his wardrobe today, but he was still anxiously tugging at the collar of his black hoodie. Thankfully his hair was down as well today to hide his ears, which he had no doubt where even more pink than Yuji’s hair.
Because man oh man were you drop-dead gorgeous.
What you were wearing only enhanced what Choso was convinced was godly beauty. And damn, the way you walked with utter confidence as you approached him outside the rink, your smile brighter than the midday sun and and and - crap he can’t remember anything he could call bright now that he’s seen your smile. You’re going to put him in cardiac arrest or at the very least short circuit his brain when you walk right up and start talking in that sweet, smooth voice of yours.
What was his favorite type of music? He’d absolutely say your voice now.
“Hi! You’re Choso right?” You cover your mouth as you shyly laugh. Why’d you do that? Choso wants to see it. “Yuki told me to look for a tall guy with longish hair and a tattooed face who stands there like he got off at the wrong train station.”
Play it cool, play it cool. And because the people he mainly hangs out with are kids he says, “Yeah I’m Choso. I like your shoes.”
“Really?” You glance down and laugh again. “Oh, um, thanks, I guess.”
He kicks himself internally.
“So, Yuki said you wanted to learn how to skate to impress your brother?”
“Uh, yeah.” Choso nods. At least that didn’t sound too weird. “He picked up skating recently and I just think it’ll be nice if we could do it together, because all I can do right now is, you know, sit at the sidelines since…I’m really bad at skating.”
“It’s fine!” You said enthusiastically. “It takes a couple tries to get the hang of it, but I’m pretty hopeful I’ll get you skating by yourself in one lesson - um, not to sound arrogant. It’s pretty sweet you want to learn skating just for your brother, heh; you must really look up to him.”
“I do.” Yuji made friends so effortlessly and he was amazing at any sport he tried his hand at. Yuki could laugh at him all she liked but his opinion was his opinion. Choso shuffled his feet. “I’ll be really grateful if you can. I’ll even pay-”
“No, no, this is completely free, Choso! Don’t worry, it’s all on a favor to Yuki anyway, so if anybody pays, it’s her,” You joke, waving a hand, gratified to see him crack a nervous grin. “So…” You plodded over to the rink, so steady atop the blades of the skates. Choso takes a little while longer, wobbling uncertainly, but he thanks his lucky stars he managed to cross over without tripping like last time.
“Which one’s your brother?”
Choso proudly pointed at the kid with the fluffiest pink hair you’ve ever seen chasing his spiky-haired, brooding counterpart around the ice with the skill of an Olympics professional. “That one.”
“Oh my god.”
Choso panics when your hand slaps over your mouth and your eyes screw up closed. You sounded like you were holding back some really odd noises as well. Did he do something wrong? Oh no. “Are you okay? Are you cold or-”
“He’s a little silly.” Yuki leans across the table, with a sly look. “I’m sure he’s got a brother complex, actually. Don’t mind him if he gets really excited if you mention Yuji.”
“No, no, Yuki didn’t tell me you were this cute!”
“I-” Choso feels his face heat up like an oven and his mouth dries. “Um.”
You grab his hand and yank him into the rink. “Come on, we’ll get you skating in no time!”
***
Truly you meant what you said. Yuki didn’t tell you he was THIS cute and you were going to put her out of whack for it.
You had originally regretted bemoaning your fate of being single for so long already when you had met up with the blonde a week ago, because Yuki being Yuki she was going to grill you for a very detailed description of your type just so she could set you up with someone on a blind date. What a wicked friend - somehow she managed to set you up on one anyway, but you were going to let it slide on the fact that 1. he was really, really cute (not just in looks; so rare are grown men who want to do these things just for their little brother!) and 2. Yuki was giving you a chance to show off your stomping ground and potentially impress HIM, something you weren’t going to throw away to get back at her.
Stay calm, stay calm, you chanted to yourself as you led him out to the rink. Oh god he was so cute and anxious gingerly moving like a newborn giraffe it made you want to- Focus. Seriously.
“Try and skate, I want to see how well you can do,” you said in what you hope was a normal, level tone of voice and not a representation of how you feel when he grabbed your arm to steady himself.
“Um…I’m scared I’ll trip and take you down with me,” Choso confessed, tightening his grip just slightly (it sent you reeling). “I accidentally tripped up Yuji’s friend’s dad once.”
“It’s fine! It’ll take more than some ice to hurt me,” You assure him cheekily. “Go on, try. I’ll do my best to catch you if I fall!”
“Alright, if you say so…”
You glided closer to where he sat on his bum. “I mean, at least you managed a couple meters.”
“I did a split,” Choso groans.
“You’re quite the gymnast,” you agree and offer your hand to help him out. He catches your eye and it’s all over.
“OH MY GOD! I’M - S-SORRY, IT - IT WAS JUST - JUST SO - JUST SO FUNNY - I CAN’T - I SHOULDN’T - I SHOULDN’T BE LAUGHING BUT - OH MY GOD - YOUR FACE - “
“Stop! It’s not that funny!” Choso buries his face into his hands, pulling up the hood of his jacket. But eventually he succumbs to the humor of the situation as well.
The two of you garnered quite a number of stares as you both doubled over and laughed until you swore you needed stitches for your sides now. You both glance up, just for a moment and maybe sparks flew if Choso hadn’t lost his balance and would’ve face-planted into the ice if you hadn’t grabbed him in time.
Now you both were in a…questionable position, to say the least. He was half leaning on you, head smooshed against your side as you tried to maneuver him back to standing with suddenly stiff hands, like two waltz partners when one was dipping the other. Your heart was pounding and you wondered if he could hear it. His face was burning red; he prayed you couldn’t see it. Two pairs of eyes locked.
“Um. So.” You broke the silence first.
Choso hurriedly pushed himself away, waving his hands frantically. “I’m sorry! I’m sorry! It was a total accident!”
Then the laughter explodes out again.
The commotion seemed to have gotten the attention of Choso’s brother and his friend as well. When you finally straightened, wiping at your streaming eyes, you came face-to-face with two gleaming brown ones as the boy grabs your hand in a tight handshake. “Hi! I’m Yuji! You must be Choso’s new friend and the one teaching him to skate?”
If Yuji wasn’t on ice you’d bet he’d be jumping up and down from glee. “I can’t wait to skate with him! He’s so bad at it he can barely take a step without slipping!”
“Yuji!” Choso can’t believe it. His beloved brother. Betraying him. Exposing him.
“Yeah, last time he tripped up Gojo,” Megumi adds. Choso could cry. Instead he puts a hand on their shoulders (he can’t bend down without falling/being unable to get up again if he’s not holding something) and leans close.
“Taiyaki if you guys don’t mention this, please.”
Yuji blinks and nods seriously, before turning back to a bewildered but entertained you. “My bad! Choso’s really good at skating! He’s never fallen down before!”
Not like that, Yuji. Choso wanted to crawl into a hole and hide. Since when were little kids this silly?
“Let’s go back to skating, Yuji. “ At least one of them feels bad for him. Megumi skates off, beckoning for his friend to follow. “We’ll leave the lovebirds to skate themselves.”
“Megumi!” Choso gasps. He took it back. All kids were merciless.
You seem more amused though, giggling. “Come on, they’re right. I said I’ll get you skating by today and skating you will be by today!”
“Alright!”
He couldn’t help but beam back. You had that effect. Addicting and contagious. Anything but detrimental though.
“Okay, let’s try that again, but this time I’ll be right behind you, so grab me if need be.”
Choso nodded. “Got it.”
You watched carefully as the man slowly struggles to skate a little distance. He nearly falls, but steadies himself quickly. After a while it’s easy to spot the problem, so you reluctantly pull yourself away from admiring his form, however shaky.
“Wait, wait, hold up here.” You skated in front of him a bit and pointed down. “Skating isn’t walking. Try imagining a scooter or a skateboard, where one foot remains unmoving while the other propels you forward. It’s not really an accurate way to skate but it worked for me on starting out.”
Choso tried not to get distracted by the smell of you and your clothes, concentrating on his feet. Think about other things, not the extremely good-looking person in front of you. Other things - don’t fall - other things…
He flashed back to the time he tried to teach Yuji to use a skateboard and fell into a ditch. Um, probably explained why he was so bad at skating.
“Hey, I’m doing it!” Choso excitedly let go of your arm and pushed himself forward a little more. “I’m doing it! I’m skating - oh woah - never mind - ouch.”
“Well, almost!” You cheered, clapping your hands and mimicking confetti falling as you skated over to help him up. “You did it! Now we just gonna work on your falling problem - I think it’s because you’re trying to go faster than you can right now.”
“It’s progress,” Choso says hopefully. He tries to get up.
“No, don’t get up like that, you’re gonna fall right down again. Put up one foot like you’re kneeling and use it to push yourself up.”
And so it went on, you directing instructions, tips and corrections to Choso while he did his best to follow them, occasionally sending your heart fluttering and your stomach twisting every time he grabbed your hand to steady himself. It was like your hands were molded to fit each other perfectly, you thought giddily, then shut off that train of thought. No! You both had just met! You were just here on a favor to Yuki! Nothing more!
“Lean forward a little more - wait, no, not that much, don’t fall for me again, haha.”
“Just relax your hands, don’t keep flailing them.”
“Come on! Go, go, go, you got this! No! Don’t look back! Pretend I’m in front of you!”
But still, you couldn’t help but flush pink at the jubilant grin decorating his face as he zipped back to you, hyped over his newfound achievement.
“I did it! I skated a whole round!”
“I know you did, congratu- oof!”
He tackled you in a tight hug, crushing your arms and your head underneath his chin but you didn’t mind. Choso was warm, awfully so after you both had spent so much time in the freezing rink, but maybe that was just his personality. You melted, and it was like gluing a cracked vase back together again - a perfect fit.
Then Choso froze and let go, pushing back. “I’m so sorry! I shouldn’t have done that, I’m so sorry-”
“Hey, no worries, don’t sweat it!” You tried for a smile, even though the sudden loss of his hold left something aching in you.
He smiled again and you decided to be bold.
You spread your arms. “Can I get another one, maybe? Just to celebrate.”
***
“So, it’s just you and Yuji right now?” You took a lick of your ice cream, eyes never leaving Choso’s face. He was enjoying his own cone, although his gaze was trained on the two kids running up in front. “Man, that must’ve been rough.”
“Well, not too bad.” Choso wiped a smudge of chocolate off the corner of his lip. He didn’t quite get it, so he tried to use his tongue to lick it off. You snorted at his expression. “We’ve got an uncle - my dad’s brother - Sukuna, he’s not around much but he sends us money so financially, we’re okay. He’s a pretty busy, bigshot businessman anyway.”
“THE Ryomen Sukuna?” Your mouth fell open as you pictured the scowling, towering, tattooed man you had seen in newspapers. “Oh, wow, you just keep getting even more interesting, Choso.”
He shrugged, awkwardly smiling at the compliment. “Heh, not really. I didn’t even know we were related until like after our grandfather died. Then he showed up. He’s like the family black sheep or something, but Sukuna’s pretty okay.”
After Yuji and Megumi had finally gotten bored of the rink they had ran up to the two of you and immediately pestered Choso (mostly Yuji, Megumi just sort of tagged along) to get them food because they were going to die from hunger apparently. Choso had turned to you, with that eager puppy dog look and asked if you wanted to stay, ice cream would be his treat? Who were you to turn him down?
So that’s how you all ended up in front of the toy store now, as Yuji dragged Megumi inside while you and Choso just sort of lingered around the front, poking through the products, getting to know each other better and wistfully remarking on the joys of lost childhood.
(He was such a gentleman - offering to throw the cup your ice cream was in for you, opening the door and even - gasp - helping you remove the straps from your skates.)
“Pretty okay? He looks terrifying from his pictures,” you laugh. “I guess there’s a reason they call his business Malevolent Shrine though.”
“Don’t even get me started on-”
“Choso! Choso! Check these out!”
The two younger boys burst through the racks, Yuji grinning and Megumi not quite scowling as they held up two matching wolf plushies, one white and the other black. The Divine Dogs line of toys, if you remembered correctly. They were pretty cute, you had to admit.
“Oh hey, you two are back.” Choso took a quick look at the plushies and raised his eyebrows. “Do you want them or something?”
“Nope! I think you should get them!”
You nearly spat.
“…what? And…why?”
“So you can match with my new sibling?”
“Sibling?!” Poor Choso looks confused.
“Sibling-in-law,” Megumi corrects blankly, and points at you.
At once the two of you suddenly found the floor really interesting. My, my, who knew the cracks in the tiles would make such beautiful patterns. Hmm, a speck on your shoe as well.
“But I think that's for after marriage,” Megumi continues like absolutely nothing happened.
Yuji frowns, then lights up again before shoving the plushies towards Choso. “Then you gotta marry them quick, Choso, before anyone else does! Maybe you could get matching tattoos or something, after the plushies! You guys were so cute skating around together, like a real coo-ple!”
“Couple,” Megumi corrected.
“We’re not-!”
“Um, what-?”
“Hey, can I be best man at the wedding?” Yuji waved the plushy at your face.
Choso wanted the floor to swallow him up. You decide to save him and yourself.
“…it’s too early for marriage,” You begin before Choso’s panic instincts kick in.
“I’m so sorry! I apologize on their behalf, it must make you uncomfortable! Yuji, Megumi, don’t ever say that, we just met and we’re just hanging out like friends-”
“Hey, let me finish!” You lightly dig your elbow into his side, the corner of your lip tugging up. “It’s too early for marriage but I wouldn’t say no to a date, if you asked.”
Choso bough the plushies after he finished fainting.

# RIBBONS OF AFFECTION
✰ synopsis: xiao’s small act of showing affection and a larger encounter.
✰ paring: xiao x gn!reincarnated!reader
✰ warnings: crying ig and past lives
✰ notes: tbh i no idea what this fic is about. it was supposed to be about ribbons but it turned into reincarnation??
XIAO is rather shy by nature—blood quickly rushes to his ears whenever he gets flustered, even by the most simple gestures. this time is no exception, as xiao is picking out flowers for you. the feeling of the flower store has always had this moist atmosphere, yet it feels best during the morning; right when the last of the dews drip off the leaf.
as he enters, the bell attached to the door rings alerting the woman behind the forest green counter, who only smiles before looking back down at the materials in front of her. the store is decorated in colours and life, with flowers on one side displayed in the window and a longer area full of blooms to his right. the blossoms being the brighter shades that human life seems to be afraid of nowadays, the shades dance in front of xiao as he continues to stare.
in truth, he has very limited experience with flowers and its symbolism; less is known about how much you like flowers. yet, xiao isn’t known to ask and only hopes that you’ll understand the vision as he admires the beauty of the them—each petal handled with such delicateness and care. yet, his mind swiftly switches to you and the way you handle him—like porcelain, like glass. that’s what your touch feels like. your skin on his is a hot fire burning on his, yet it’s gentle. in a way that makes him feel that no one has been kind to him—at least not before you.
he wishes there were more to convey his ocean like affections for you, something that meant his life long oath to you. yet, you wouldn’t agree such a thing, he thinks. he finds it strange humans, your kind, can be the same yet completely different. he’s seen humans that want the world, but seem to only want to love him and live knowing your boyfriend loves you back.
“excuse me?” he asks quite meekly to the florist standing by the counter.
the florist gaze meets his, “mm, how can i help?” her smile glows as she disregards the floral foam and roses in front of her.
“what flowers would you recommend, for my partner?” he replies.
her smile widens, and xiao tenses as she moves from behind the counter and towards him. however, he soon relaxes, his shoulders now sitting in a comfortable position as she speaks purely of her craft. xiao watches as she points to all different shades, some of of white, some of red. yet, it still leaves him feeling clueless and embarrassed. it isn’t long before, the florist is stumped. simply unsure of what other flowers could the man want.
“i’m sorry for troubling you,” xiao says, sounding incredibly apologetic.
“nono, you’re fine. it’s not everyday someone shows up with a challenge.” the florist panics as her hand waved in the morning air before she turns back to grab a book and pencil. “tulips.. no, maybe something else.” she turns the page. “we’ve gone over liles… ahah, what about some chrysanthemums?” she turns her head to xiao and xiao tilts his.
“those white ones over there,” she directs, pencil hanging out of her mouth as her finger lifts up to point the white flowers sitting on the middle shelf. yet before xiao can get a closer look, the light wood from her lips drops and her hands start to shake from her joy. “oh my! i have some leftover carnations in the back. give me a second, i have a really cute idea.” then she starts to run off.
it’s not long after that she comes back out of the storeroom with a bunch of white chrysanthemums, pink carnations and a hand full of baby breath, along with rolls of paper and ribbon all wrapped in her arms. a smile spread across her tan skin, and her rosy cheeks bright and clear in the sun as the materials land on the wooden surface.
it isn’t long before the range of flowers transforms into bouquet, lands in xiao’s callused palms and is paid for in full. however, the bunch of petals doesn’t leave the store without a series of thank you’s, smiles and goodbye’s before xiao exits. the bell ringing behind him as he walks along the streets of liyue. internally smiling to himself as he travels back home.
“xiao?” your voice rings in his ears.
you grip onto the tote bag’s handle resting on your right shoulder as you lift off the heels of your shoes. a shocked look splattered on your boyfriend’s features as you speed toward him, the stone under your feet scratching against the soles of your shoes. fresh morning air spreads across your face while you loose the distance between the two of you.
“hun, i’ve been wondering where you’ve been all morning. i was worried,” you say to his face before looking down at his left hand. “oh, are those mums?” you point at the white flowers.
“chrysanthemums? yes, do you not like them?” your lover’s eyes displays a thousand words, years of worry in them, as he stumbles over the word ‘chrysanthemums’. it’s endearing.
you can’t help but panic all the same, “nono, i love them, their beautiful. but how come your look disappointed?” you question, staring at the somber look in his golden eyes.
“i wanted to surprise you. i hadn’t anticipated that you would go out to find me.” the discontent takes a spotlight in the pools of gold and stars.
oh. perhaps you should just pretend to be blind and walk—
“i mean you still can, i’ll just pretend i never saw you this morning and—“ you begin to walk back in the direction you came from yet don’t make it far. you barely get two feet away before your wrist is used to tug you back to him.
he pushes the flowers towards you, “i want you to have them now, even if it didn’t go to plan. i should of known, i’m always meant to find you in every lifetime.”
you take a step forward as you hear a break in xiao’s voice, your lips closing in on the side of his porcelain face. you place a gentle smiled kiss on his skin before taking the bouquet from his grasp. you stop. you stare and admire it for its beauty. yet your eyes catch onto the pink ribbon loosely wrapped and tied into a pretty bow around the pieces of paper and parchment that hold the stems. it only takes a moment and a half for your fingertips to caress the thin, long line of closely woven fabric and to tug it undone. a long line now in your hold along with the bouquet.
“here, give me your hand.” you gesture towards his left as you lift your right towards his.
your boyfriend holds up his pinky as you lift your own, carefully placing the bouquet in between your arm and you side. xiao watches intently as you wrap the ribbon around his finger twice and tie it off with a knot before doing the same to your own pink before tying it off with a bow. the sun shines in your eyes as the ribbon between creates a curve.
“here, i know we can’t see it normally but it isn’t just you that finds me, i chase after you too. i found you here after you disappeared this morning. and in every life time this ribbon will lead us both to each other, in all my life times. you’re not alone xiao, i’m here now at the very least.” you reassure, combing back his green toned hair out of his face.
he can’t help but laugh. he smiles. xiao smiles so brightly that you can watch the moment his eyes start to shine with tears. yet the moment the tears starts to roll, you pull him straight into your embrace, rubbing his back and whispering your affections for him.

u should write abt nick x his bestfriend!
maybe something abt how they r bestfriends and they have been for a long time and nick is starting to have feelings for him but doesn’t wanna ruin their friendship
good little angsty story with a good ending
Ik you will cook king🤗
Kiss the birthday boy.
Summary: You like Nick and he MIGHT like you too. we dont know. and its his birthday soon.
TW: reader is refered as ‘girl’ but not as in reader is a girl, as in ‘giiirl’.
“Which one do you think he will like the most?” Jake looks at me while showing me two jackets.
“Girl… none, buy that one over there, the dark brown one. He will like that.” I say pointing out a jacket hanging behind him.
“Girl, you do know him so well, that’s why I brought you here… and because you and Johnny are good friends, but anyways. Ill buy this, thanks.” He leaves the two jackets he had on hand and grabs the dark brown I pointed out and walked to the cashier. I turn around and start searching for Johnny outside of the store. “Johnny.” I say when I see him.
“Hi.” He says waving awkwardly at me.
“Ugh, I wanna go home.”
“Me too.” he hands me a coffee. “Bought this for you.”
“Thank you.” He nods.
“How are you and your… Nick situation.” I almost choked on my coffee when he said that.
“Don’t call it that.” I say wiping the coffee from my lips.
“What should I call it then? The ‘oh no I like my best friend and I think he also likes me but I’m not sure and I don’t want to ruin our long friendship’ situation?”
“Dear god Johnny, that doesn’t help.” I laugh a bit and he does too.
“Sorry… but how are you with that?”
“It doesn’t help that it’s his birthday soon?”
“Why?”
“I never buy him anything, I never have. I always gift him handmade things, he loves that kind of thing. But every time I sit down to write him a letter, I end up confessing my feelings, I can’t write something normal.”
“Rough.”
“Don’t even tell me.”
“You should talk to Jake.”
“He will tell me to just confess, it isn’t that easy.”
“What are you guys talking about?” Jake gets out of the store and walks to us.
“Coffee.” “Movies.” Johnny and I say at the same time, the three of us exchange looks.
“Movies.” “Coffee.” We say again but the other way around.
“Okay babygirls. Whatever, I won’t ask if you guys have your little secret secrets.” Jake laughs and starts walking to his car.
Once Jake drops me off in my house Johnny gives me a thumbs up and I weakly give it back to him.
---
“Still nothing?” Madi is ‘sitting’ on my desktop, my phone is propped up against my wall and she is wrapping up the gifts for Nick on the floor of her room.
“I can’t do it. I just can’t. It ends up being awkward or I end up saying how much I like him and that I wish he liked me back.” I cover my face with both of my hands and let out a groan. “Maybe I should just tell him I’m sick and I can’t go to the party.”
“He will ditch all of us to take care of you.” Madi said smiling.
“No, he wouldn-… yes he would, he is so kind and lovely to everyone.” I look at Madi and she gives me an empathetic smile which transforms into a smirk.
“Guess who’s calling me.” she says in a singing tone.
“God no, tell him to go away.”
“Already added him to the call.”
“Madi! I need to fix my hair.”
“Too late.”
“Madi!”
“Hiiii!” Nick pops up on the screen, he is smiling and standing in the middle of the room. “What are you guys chatting about? Just so you know, I am deeply offended that you didn’t invite me.” He says while fake crying. I just stare at him, trying to not bury myself into de ground.
“I was talking to this guy about what I’m gonna wear to your party. But it’s a surprise so you can’t see.” Madi says.
“Oh, I like surprises. I’m sure the both of you will look amazing.” He says while walking around his room, cleaning it up a bit. “You guys are staying to sleep, right?” I quickly look at Madi and she mumbles something that I did not understand.
“I am…” I say quickly.
“Cool.” Nick says and then he starts rambling about how exited he is to see his friends and all the things we will do at the sleepover after the party. Eventually he finished cleaning up and grabbed his phone to lay on his bed ‘with us’. We talked about our days, I told them I went out with Jake and Johnny but didn’t say why. After two hours Madi go ‘sleepy’, that’s what she told Nick because when she left the call, she texted me telling me to enjoy my alone time with Nick.
“So, Johnny, huh?”
“What does that mean?” I laugh a bit.
“You and him are close. Well, closer than before.”
“I guess.” I say, I look at my ceiling. My phone laying beside my face.
“Isn’t he like… 5 years older than us?” I quickly sit up and grab my phone, putting it in front of my face.
“What do you mean by that?”
“Like… isn’t he a bit older for you?”
“Nick… what are you saying?”
“Do you like him?” he says quickly.
“What? No. Why would you even think that?”
“I-… I don’t know. I just… fuck- it’s nothing, I just thought… I didn’t but I thought maybe you liked him and I don’t know. Look, it’s late, I’m tired. I’ll text you tomorrow.” And then he hangs up on me. nothing else. Nothing. Silence fills my room and I am confused. Why would he say that?
---
“I’m serious, he was jealous.”
“Madi stop.” The light sound of music fills Madis room as she gets ready to go to Nicks party. It has been two days since that call and I did not have the courage to text Nick, neither did he.
“I’m just saying. I have known Nick for only a few years more than you but I can talk, I know him.” She says applying on her mascara.
“I don’t know…” I lay on her bed, my legs dangling off the edge. “I just don’t know. I want to cry so bad…”
“Hey, hey.” Madi quickly drops her mascara and runs to me, she sits down beside me and I sit up, my elbows on my knees and my head between my hands. “It’s okay…” She comforts me, her arms around me. “You don’t have to go…”
“I will. He is my friend. They are my friends. I- I told Matt I was going to be there.” I mumble. “Also, I have to give them their gifts…”
Madi sighs. “If you need anything just find me. Okay?” I nod and she kisses my cheek gently. “Want me to do your make up?” I chuckle a bit.
“What for?”
“To cheer you up of course.”
“I think that will cheer you up more but, why not?”
---
“Wooow. Who did your make up?” Jake says as we enter the house.
“Oh, Madi.”
“Well, she did a great job.” Johnny adds.
“It’s only mascara, blush and… lip gloss? Lip balm? I don’t know, she put a few things there.” I laugh a bit.
“Have you seen the birthday boys?” I ask.
“Over there.” Jake points to the kitchen and I nod to them. I walk over there and let out a short sigh to brace myself.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” I scream opening my arms and hugging the three of them at the same time. I feel someone laughing, awkward hands patting my back and I hear a muffled ‘thanks’. “How are my birthday boys?” I ask when I let them go.
“I’m glad you came.” Matt says.
“I’m good! we rented a jumping castle.” Chris adds with a childish smile on his face.
“No way…” I say
“Yes way.” He adds.
“Take me there.” I hand him my hand and Chris drags me. “Happy birthday Nick…” I mumble as I pass beside him.
---
It’s 3 am. Almost everyone is gone, I lay on the jumping castle alone, watching the stars blink at me.
“Don’t you feel alone in that castle?” a familiar voice comes from outside the castle.
“Depends who is asking…”
“May I be of company to the prince?”
“You may…” The soft material of the castle moves as he enters the castle and lays besides me. “Well, I think you should be the prince because it’s your birthday.”
“It was yesterday, it’s already 3:20 am.” I roll my eyes and turn my head to look at him. he was already looking at me. “You look good…”
“Most of the make up already washed off.”
“Don’t care. You look good…” he pauses for a bit. “Chris and Matt really liked your gifts…” I hum. “I can’t help but wonder where is mine.”
“I-… it’s in my car.” I sit up and look down to the bright color of the castle.
“Why didn’t you give it to me?”
“I can’t…” I feel him sit up too.
“Look at me.” His hand grabs my jaw gently and he turns my head.
“When it’s late you act weird…”
“You think I’m weird?”
I chuckle. “You know what I meant.”
“No, tell me.”
“You act different… like a few days ago.” He nods, his hand still on my face. “Nick… I can’t.” I grab his hand and pull it away from my face. “Don’t, please.” My eyes fill with tears.
“I’m not doing anything…” I look down and I tighten my grip on his hand.
“Look. I know that you are more… sure about everything, more confident, more outgoing. I’m not. I’m scared…”
“Just tell me.” He whispers. “It will be okay, I promise.”
“Nick-.“ My voice cracks. “I like you.” I whisper, a tear rolls down my face.
“I know… I like you too.” Suddenly the cold breeze of the night isn’t freezing anymore. Time stops for us. His hands go to my face and he kisses me, the kind of kiss that can cure any heart ache. I feel alive.
“I’m sorry.” I sniff. “I shouldn’t be crying. God, this is so awkward. I was so scared.” He grabs my hands that were shaking.
“What do you mean? This is the best gift ever. And not a lot of people can say that the love of they life confessed at a castle.”
I laugh. “Nick, this is a kids jumping castle.” He wipes away the tears of my face.
“I know, I don’t care.” He kisses my lips softly one more. “Let’s go inside. There is taco bell and pizza, you choose what to eat.”
Nick grabs my hand and softly guides me out of the castle, I smile weakly at him and he kisses my cheek. Together, we walk inside of the house.

CAN YOU PLEASE WRITE A BANNER SIBLINGS STORY (LOGAN AND ASHLYN) PLEAAAAASSEEE
Logan and Ashlyn - You’ve Always Got Us
A non-romantic oneshot
Logan was used to being home alone. There wasn’t a big deal about it. His grandparents own a business after all. Besides, back in the day, when they still had those jobs, he was home alone a lot more often than just every few days in a month.
And, in some ways, learning to take care of himself for so long gave him some seriously good benefits. Now he knows how to cook and clean and make sure that the house is secured.
There’s nothing to it. It’s just how things are. Does he wish he has someone to keep him company? Well, ya, a sibling or something of the sort is a nice idea, but he doesn’t want any other kids to get dragged into the Fields family drama.
But, today was definitely not too great. All the food that they have is expired, so he has nothing to eat. He would drive to the store, but he doesn’t have a license.
So, in short, he’s screwed. No lunch, no dinner, no breakfast… and that continues until how many more days his grandparents will be gone.
He already felt himself begin to panic. Ya, he could ask one of his friends to help. Tyler knows how to cook, Taylor is always ready to help, Aiden can’t stay out of other people’s business, Ben is a sweetheart, and Ashlyn feels responsible to take care of the others in the group. But Logan can’t bear to be a burden. He’s already been enough of an inconvenience for them.
He can go a few days without eating. Rationing. He did it a lot back in the day. It’s never fun, but he can do it.
He decides to go to the couch to watch some tv, to try and distract himself. He crosses his arms and hunches up his legs, turning his brain off for a while. Easier said than done.
He glances at his phone every now and then, tempted to text his friends, tell them about his situation. But he stopped himself. But then he immediately jumped to his phone when it buzzed.
It was a text from Ashlyn to the group.
>Ashlyn: Hey, guys. My parents said that since it’s Fall Break, y’all can come over for dinner.
>Aiden: Awww!!! Ashlyn, you’re inviting us over?!?!!?!
>Ashlyn: It wasn’t my idea.
>Taylor: I wish I could, but me and Tyler have to take our mom to the doctor today
>Ben: My sister is spending the night, I was hoping to hang out with her. I’m sorry :(
>Aiden: Ash. You know I would go if I could. But…
>Aiden: I ALSO WANTED TO HANG OUT WITH MY COUSIN 💔💔
>Ashlyn: Geez
>Ashlyn: What about you, Logan?
Logan was startled and hesitated. This was a perfect opening. But no one else was going. Would he be intruding?
>Logan: Well, I am free this evening, but I understand if you don’t want me over since no one else is 😊
>Ashlyn: I really don’t care. You can come over if you want.
He thinks about his response before slowly typing back a response.
>Logan: Ya, I can come over. But I’ll need a ride.
>Ashlyn: 👍
He fidgeted a bit, nervous. Was he being a bother? He should’ve just made an excuse. Oh, but the promise of dinner was enticing. He hated that he didn’t regret agreeing to go. He should. It’s just embarrassing. He’s being such a bother.
He gets up and puts his shoes on and waits by the front door for Ashlyn and her parents to get here to pick him up.
His phone buzzes and it was a message from Ashlyn saying she was here. He steps out and sees the Banner’s car on the driveway. He steps in and sits down.
“Hi, Mr. Banner.”
“Hey kid. Ashlyn, say hi to your friend.”
“Hi, Logan.”
Logan awkwardly laughs. “Hi, Ashlyn. Thank you for inviting me.”
“It’s no problem!” says Mr. Banner. “I’m just happy that Ashlyn actually invited her friends.”
“Dad.”
“Sorry, sorry.”
Logan laughs and awkwardly tugs his seatbelt. He shouldn't have agreed to come. This is so embarrassing and awkward. He can't think of any small talk.
"So, Logan," Mr. Banner says. "How's your grandparents?"
Logan felt a rush of relief. Thank the universe for Mr. Banner making small talk.
"They're doing fine. They're currently on a business trip."
"Oh? So you're home alone?"
"Yes sir."
"Well, that's perfect timing for you to join us for dinner!"
"Haha.. ya."
"We're making black-eyed pea soup! It's Mrs. Banner's specialty."
Logan nods. He's happy with that. That's definitely a comfort meal, and he needed comfort right now because he felt like his heart was going to burst out of his chest. Why. Is he. So. Damn. Anxious. ALL OF THE TIME!?
They pull into Ashlyn's house, the bus graveyard in the distance. It's always weird seeing it when they're not in the phantom world, despite the fact that they hang out there all the time.
They go inside and the house smells really good.
"Oh! You got him?" Mrs. Banner asks, walking out of the kitchen to greet them. "Heya, Logan. Thanks for joining us!"
"No problem, Mrs. Banner.."
"Why don't you 2 set the table?"
Ashlyn and him look at each other and she shrugs. "Ok."
They walk to the kitchen to get some silverware. "Your family is really nice."
Ashlyn raises an eyebrow. "Ya, well.. They like that I have friends now. So I think they're abusing it a little for get togethers like these."
"You consider us to be friends."
"Oh. Are we not?"
"No, no, no! That's not it! I just.. I thought maybe you just tolerated us.. me. Since we're all kind of.. forced to hang out... But.. you really consider us to be friends?"
Now it was Ashlyn's turn to be shy. "Um.. sure, I guess. Friends is a simpler term to describe what all of us are."
They pause. "Yknow.." Ashlyn says. "There's still some time until dinner is ready. Wanna go to my room to listen to music."
This catches Logan's attention. "Um.. sure."
They go up the stairs and to Ashlyn's room. "What kind of music do you listen to?" she asks.
"Oh.. I really like Beach Bunny.. You?"
"Ray LaMontagne," she responds. "I've never heard Beach Bunny."
He smiles a little. "Well, I've never heard Ray LaMontagne."
She pauses. "Song trade?"
He nods. "Ya, sure!"
They sit down on the floor and Ashlyn pulls out a Bluetooth speaker. Logan plays Nice Guys, and Ashlyn plays You Are The Best Thing.
“That’s exactly the kind of music that I imagine you would listen to,” Logan says with a soft chuckle.
“Oh?”
“Ya. He has a really soft voice, so not too overwhelming. I get it. Though the lyrics were surprisingly upbeat,” he jokes a little.
She smiles ever so slightly, but hides it by resting her chin on her knee. “Well, I wasn’t expecting yours.”
“Oh?”
“Ya. The song just.. I don’t know how to explain it. I always thought you’d be more of a David Bowie fan.”
Logan smiles brightly. “I love David Bowie!”
“So I was right.”
They let the music continue playing on and they both leaned back. “This is a lot less awkward than I was worried it would be,” Logan says.
“Tell me about it.”
“Nice to know I wasn’t the only one nervous..”
There was an air of understanding and solidarity between the two of them. It was nice, having someone who understands what it’s like, getting overwhelmed easily. He never thought it would be Ash, though. She’s always seemed… untouchable and far. Someone who’d never want anyone close, especially a whiny loser like himself.
“Kids! Dinner’s ready!”
The two head back downstairs and sit at the table. The soup smelled amazing and looked amazing. “Thank you so much,” he says.
“No problem, kiddo!” Mrs. Banner says, sitting at the table.
Ashlyn already started eating, but Logan waited until everyone was seated until he started eating. That’s what his grandparents taught him to do.
Once everyone got to the table, he waited until Ashlyn's parents started to eat, and then he dug in himself, napkin in his lap.
"So, Logan," Mr. Banner says. "How long until your grandparents get home?"
"Oh, I'm actually not sure. These business days can go on for a while.. Especially when the weather gets colder, since the flowers are all slowly going away."
He nods, but looks a bit concerned. "So they just left you with no idea how long? When you have no license..?"
"Oh, well, it's fine. I can take care of myself, yknow."
Mrs. Banner and Mr. Banner look at each other, a bit unsure, but don't push it. "Well, how about you spend the night?"
Both Logan and Ashlyn were startled by the offer.
"No, no, no, you really don't have to! I don't want to intrude-"
"Nonsense, we'd be happy to!" Mrs. Banner says. "Only if you want to, though. No pressure."
"I-I-I.." Ya, he's been at sleepovers, but with the rest of the group. What if Ashlyn finds it annoying that it's just him?
"It's fine," Ashlyn says to him. The two look at one another, as if they were both trying to read each other's minds.
"O...k..." he says slowly. "Thank you for.. having me..."
Mr. Banner nods. "I'll let you borrow some of my clothes, kiddo. I've got a lot of old ones I've been meaning to donate. But I'm happy to lend you some for tonight."
"Thank you.. thank you so much. This is really nice of you guys."
Mr. and Mrs. Banner clutch their hearts at Logan's sweetness. "No problem. Anything for Ashlyn's friends!"
"Let's go to my room," Ashlyn says. They begin to go back upstairs, Ashlyn already taking her earbuds out.
"Are you sure you'll be ok without those?"
"You're not like Tyler or Aiden. I'll be fine."
He smiles a little at that.
"I'll set up a cot for you." Right as she was about to go and get the stuff, he stops her.
"Thank you, Ash. Really."
"Hey, man.. it's.. fine. I can't really imagine being completely alone. My parents are.. yknow.."
"Ya.."
She nods and heads off. The Banner family is so nice. He's never felt so welcomed anywhere. Not even in his own home, where his grandparents are probably annoyed with him about something, even just a little. He doesn't doubt their love at all, it's just.. it doesn't feel like this.
A family where they all chat and tease and have fun.
She returns with blankets and a blow up air mattress. She plugs it in and turns it on after putting her earbuds back in.
"Hey, Ash?"
"Hm?"
"After this.. do you want to do another song trade..?"
She smiles. "Only if you watch ballet YouTube videos with me."
This surprises Logan. "Video trades, too? Well then. Only if I can show you mythology based videos."
She nods. "Deal."
He nods back. "Thanks, Ash."

TSITP Conrad Fisher x Fem!Reader: Only You
This was a request!! You've been Conrad's friend for years. Conrad took you to the Debutante Ball last summer because your date bailed on you and broke up with you. He realized how he felt about you then and now it's pretty much all he can think about. Y/N = Your Name
Conrad's POV
I'm waiting for Y/N to arrive. She texted me when her flight landed and when she got to her summer house in Cousins Beach. Now I just have to wait until she drives and gets here. I missed her so much. I wish she lived closer and we could hang out more. You have no idea how long I've been wanting to hug her tightly and have our night walks on the beach.
My door swings open and Jeremiah pokes his head in to say "Hey uh I think Y/N is here, but she is on a stressful-sounding call in the front yard. I heard her voice go really high and she's pacing." I nod and thank him before heading outside.
I open the front door and I see Y/N. She's hanging up her phone angrily when I get outside. When she sees me, her eyes light up and she runs over to me. I hug her tightly and swing her around a little.
Upon releasing her from her hug, I help Y/N carry her overnight bag to my bedroom. We then go for our walk on the beach because Y/N kindly asks to go on one.
We're walking on the beach and I notice Y/N deep in thought. I reach for her hand to hold it and I ask, "You okay?" Y/N squeezes my hand and says, "I am just tired of everyone in my hometown. I'm so glad I'm going to college this year. I cannot wait to leave them all. They're so exhausting to be around and they're toxic, plus they treat me like shit." I reply "I'm sorry to hear that. I didn't know they could get worse. It seems like everything was good at the end of the school year." She replies "I thought so too. I ran into this mean girl and my ex-boyfriend who stood me up at the Debutante Ball at the grocery store the other day. She called me ugly and said I don't deserve happiness. She then showed off my ex and talked about how happy she is with him. He didn't say anything that day, but he texted me the next day about how much he missed me. He said his new girlfriend is rude to everyone and that he was sorry. I just said liked his messages because I do not want him in my life in any aspect. I don't like either of them and I truly just dislike them." I reply "Well fuck them and their thoughts! They suck." She half smiles and I say "You know you have a little dimple on your right cheek that shows when you smile real big or when you're laughing really hard. I've always thought it was cute." She smiles widely and says "You're so sweet, Conrad. You always are." I reply "You're so beautiful, you know that right? Those people suck for trying to make you think otherwise." She asks "Is that why you keep staring at me?" I answer "Oh sorry what was that? I keep getting lost in your eyes. What? Too cheesy?" She laughs and playfully slaps me.
After our walk, we get back to the house where Jeremiah reminds me of the party tonight. Y/N agrees and Jeremiah stares at our hands still intertwined. I can't help that I like holding her hand. Y/N doesn't drop my hand either, so she must like me, right?
Y/N changes and says "I just remembered that I don't even have my whole suitcase here. I think I forgot to bring clothes, except one swimsuit." I ask "Do you need a shirt? I have several. I have the perfect shirt for you tonight. Let me find it." I find it and say "Ok, here it is and you should totally wear it. I'm not saying you shouldn't, but you should." She bursts out laughing and says "Oh I'm for sure wearing this." She changes and I smile widely. I love her in my clothes. What's best about this shirt is that it says FISHER on the back in big letters with my old number from football and on the front is this cheesy photo of me playing football at age 5. My mom had them made when I was in high school.
Y/N walks out in my shirt and it looks good on her. I exclaim "I just realized this will make it look like you're my girlfriend or that we're dating." She smirks and asks "Is that a bad thing? Is there someone else in your life that should wear this instead?" I answer "No and no. There's only you. What about you? Is there uh... someone in your life romantically?" She answers "There is no one but you." I ask "May I take you on a date this week?" She answers "Yes."
Jeremiah walks in, glances between us, and exclaims "We're leaving for the party if you two want to leave when we leave. Y/N, I like your shirt."
We all leave for the party. I drive Y/N and me to the party because Steven, Taylor, Belly, and Jeremiah are in the other car.
We get drinks and I walk around with Y/N a lot. We part ways and she goes off to Belly and Taylor. Jeremiah and Steven stop me when I move to get another drink. Jeremiah asks "What happened with Y/N? She's wearing your shirt. You never let anyone wear your clothes." Steven asks "Did you guys kiss yet?" I answer "We're going on a date this week. We did not kiss." Steven claps me on the back and says "I'm proud of you man. Get your girl!" I ask "What about Taylor?" Steven laughs and walks off. Jeremiah says "I'm happy for you, Conrad. Truly. You and Y/N deserve to be together." I smile.
I take a look at Y/N smiling with friends and I want to hug her, so I sneak behind her and wrap my arms around her waist. I put my head on her shoulder and kiss her on the cheek.
I exclaim "I missed you and I needed to hug you." Y/N replies "I like your hugs. Oh did you know that we're only going to be one hour from each other next year? We can visit each other when we're free on the weekend." I kiss her on the cheek and reply "I did know that. I'm so excited about it and yes, I will be seeing you a lot. I need my Y/N fix." She replies "I think our friends are sick of us." I laugh and ask "And why do you think that?" She answers "Well... you know what? I'm happy with you and your attention, so it does not matter to me what they think." I kiss her on the side of her mouth and say "I'm really happy too. I like you so much. You have no idea." She flips around in my arms and asks "How much?" I kiss her on the lips and she says "You must like me a lot." I ask "And how much do you like me?" She pulls my head back down and deepens the kiss as her hands go into my hair. So she likes me A LOT!

Just a little StevexFem!Reader something, not proofread and unedited.
I Told You So
“You've got to be kidding me!” Robin's voice echoes throughout the empty store as soon as the door closes behind the last customer.
“What have you done now?” Steve sighs from behind the counter as he tries to peer around the shelves to find where Robin's voice came from.
“Me? Nothing” she answers, finally revealing her location and moving, with purpose, to join Steve at the counter. “You on the other hand” she trails off as Steve scoffs.
“Me? What have I done other than doing what we are paid to do?” He defends, not liking that he's been blamed for something when he doesn't even know what that something is.
“Oh my god, I knew you were an idiot but I didn’t think you were blind as well” Robin groans dramatically and buries her head in her hands. Steve is even more confused now but he's starting to realise that this has to have nothing to do with work. “I swear you flirt with everyone girl that walks through that door but that girl,” Robin throws her arm in the direction of the door where said girl has not long since left, “That one girl who is so clearly into you, you have never even thrown a line her way” she explains but by the confused look still on Steve's face she can tell he has no idea who she is talking about until she says her name.
A look of recognition washes over Steve's face and finally she thinks he's realised but then a frown settles on his face. “I think you've gotten it mixed up Robs, she's not into me she's just friendly is all” he replies with a shake of his head. Sure Steve's desperate to find ‘the girl’ the one that he can love and who will love him back, the one who he can share a future with, a family with but the girl Robin is talking about is not her. Yes she's friendly, always greeting him with a smile, asking him how his day was or how his weekend had been but they were not signs that she was into him.
Robin feels like banging her head against a wall at how stupid Steve is being. “Really!?” She fixed him with a stare and he nodded in reply. “Okay so let's say she is just being friendly, why does she come in almost every shift that you're here?”
“She likes movies, me being here has nothing to do with it” he answers with a shrug.
Robin groans, “So when she comes in, she says hi to both of us, just being friendly but say she's browsing the films and I go over to ask if she wants any help you can guarantee her answer will be she's just looking” she sets up the scene for him, it's something she'd noticed after just a couple of visits to the store not that she's bothered by it but she just wishes Steve would do something to put the poor girl out of her misery. “However, if you go over and ask if she wants any help then the answer is always yes and she'll spend ages listening to your awful taste in movies and she'll always leave with one of the films you recommend” Robin adds, hoping that Steve will finally get it.
“I don't have awful taste in movies” he protests, thankful that the store is empty as he doesn’t want anyone else to have to listen to Robin's fantasy world. “And clearly it's just a case of right time right place” he responds in answer to her previous accusation.
Robin answers his stupidity with a groan of frustration, throwing her hands up in defeat. “Fine don't believe me but next time she's in and you're being your normal charming self, flirt a little and you'll see” she says, pushing herself from the counter and walking back towards the pile of movies she was sorting through before all this.
For the next week Steve had been scrutinising his every encounter with her because as much as he hated to admit he was wrong, Robin's words had stuck with him and while he wasn't getting his hopes up that a pretty girl was finally into him, he had started realise that Robin had been right and that she seemed to hang around and wait for him instead of Robin. So he'd had it planned, he was going to do as Robin said, he was going to flirt a little and see her reaction just to make sure.
As if on cue the door chime sounded and he looked up from the pile of videos he was scanning back into stock only to be greeted with her smile. Steve couldn't help but smile back, “If it isn't my favourite customer, what can we find for you today?” He asks, abandoning the tapes and making his way around the counter towards her. Out of the corner of his eye he could see Robin's head peek over the top of one of the racks from where she was returning already scanned tapes back to the shelves.
“Oh uh” she stumbled over her words and Steve wondered if it had been his ‘favourite customer’ quip or if she was just surprised by his forwardness today as usually she would browse the shelves for a bit before either he or Robin asked if she needed any help. “Um I'm not sure, what do you suggest” she covers her words with a small smile hoping it would distract from her earlier slip up of nerves.
“Well what do you fancy, action?”
She shakes her head.
“Horror?”
Another no. Steve had expected that though as he knew she didn't like them but he liked to tease.
“No I know, no tough guy to keep you safe while watching. Sci-fi?” He moved on as if it were nothing, like he hadn't just remembered something she'd said months ago, even if it was a joke, and that she wasn't short circuiting in front of him.
Another, albeit delayed shake of the head.
“How about a bit of romance?” He followed his words with suggestive raises of his eyebrows that had her stuttering out an ‘okay’ as she followed behind him towards the right section.
Steve was enjoying himself, it'd been a while since his attempts to flirt had received anything but a roll of the eyes or in some cases a giggle if they'd been after a bit on discount but he doesn’t think he'd managed to turn anyone into a stuttering mess. Maybe Robin was right and he was expecting a ‘told you so’ in the very near future but he was going to make it worth it, maybe get her to agree to a date before she left.
“Now this one I have been told, from a very credible source, is a classic” he played it up, reaching toward the shelf and pulling out The Princess Bride, “it tells the tale of a beautiful princess who falls for a simple farm boy, who is in search of employment and gets attacked by a pirate?” Steve stops a little confused by the synopsis of the film and as he hears a giggle he looks up to find it coming from her.
“Sounds like it has a bit of everything” she smiles, sounding more like her normal self than the stuttering mess Steve had made her with his unexpected flirting. “Ok you've convinced me, I'll take it” she adds, holding out her hand for the tape.
Steve moves to give her it before he seems to rethink pulling it back again. “Too late, I think it's already been rented,” he teases, a sad smile on his face, “so I guess you'll just have to come watch it with me” he adds notchantly as though it's an afterthought and not as if he'd planned it from the moment he realised that Robin was right.
“Well then I suppose that'll have to do” she tries to play it cool when really she's freaking out because Steve Harrington has practically just asked her on a date. “Friday night, your place?” She asks.
“Friday night, my place” he confirms with a nod. Problems, or in this case perks, of living in a small town everyone knew everyone's business including where they lived.
“I'll be seeing you then” she nods, the smile in full force on her face as she turns, heading towards the door but she stops before she exits. This time turning in the opposite direction, Robin's direction, and that's when Steve notices that Robin's still peeking over the shelves but she's quick to duck down as if she hadn't been watching the two of them. “bye Robin” she chuckles before actually leaving this time.
After the sound of the door closing and the footsteps retreating does Robin finally exit her hiding place. “You know Robin, if this works out then I owe you one” Steve smiles appreciatively at her as he places the tape on the counter ready to ring out.
“Yeah, yeah that's just what friends are for, just don't parade it in front of my lonely, single self” laughs with a shake of her head.

Coming home to find your mother in the living room a few days later was not something you could have foreseen.
Her suitcases are by the front door, and her shoes are tossed in different directions. She and your father are in a heated argument; your sister is nowhere in sight.
“Oh, hi, dear,” your mother greets when she hears the door open. Her voice turns sweet, contrasting how it was a few seconds ago. She turns away from your dad, spreading her arms with a smile as if she wasn’t just yelling. Your father grabs one of her outstretched arms and pulls her back.
“You don’t get to hug her,” he hisses before looking at you. “To your room, Yn.”
“Where’s Seoah?” you wonder, ignoring his order.
“At a friend’s. Now, go to your room.”
“Don’t talk to her like that,” your mother chimes in. Despite sounding defiant, she retracts her arms from you before she can even touch you. “How are you, sweetie?”
Your brain is whirling with confusion. You aren’t sure if you’re happy or annoyed she’s back. Her trips usually last for several months, maybe a year or two at most, but she always comes back. Sometimes you wish she didn’t. Her attendance never brings comfort, even if you want it to.
“I-I’m fine,” you answer. “What are you doing here?”
“She’s leaving,” your father says, pointing to the door as he looks at your mother. “Now.”
“Just let me stay for one night,” your mother pleads with her eyes on your dad. “I can find somewhere else tomorrow.”
Your dad glowers at her. “I’m tired of you treating this place like a hotel. If you wanted to stay, you shouldn’t have left.”
This conversation again.
Your parents are still married, perhaps because of the divorce cost or custody decisions, but it feels like it is an open marriage. Your mother never tells you if she has another partner, but some of her pictures from her trips are questionable at times. Additionally, your dad has never brought home anyone, but you won’t be surprised if he has gone out to find one.
Well, you wouldn’t have been surprised in the past. However, the present is different. He is nose-deep in his work. He claims it’s because he is trying to provide for you and your sister, which you’re sure has some factor in it, but he’s also probably trying to distract himself from his own personal demons. You were never that close with him to begin with, and your relationship only worsened when your mother left. You know he cares, but not as much as you wish he does.
Their argument fades out as you stand staring at them. You doubt anything will get resolved. Taking in a sorrowful breath, you turn around and leave the house.
The café you usually visit is nearby. It’s the perfect place to study or hang out with friends, as the atmosphere is peaceful. The food is reasonably priced and not too bad as well.
You find a spot in the corner and settle down.
The sketches for your outfits are coming together. You planned to go to a fabric store later this week to pick out a few yards of fabric. Luckily, your college has collaborated with several stores around to provide the students participating in the show discounts. Most are generous discounts too.
Once you are done going over your sketches, you double-check your to-do list. Jeonghan and Minghao are making good progress with the promotional items. Music, on the other hand, is a little more difficult. You haven’t found the right sound yet, but you’ve scheduled a meeting with Jihoon soon.
You sit your iPad on the table and rest your head in your hands. This project is challenging you in ways you didn’t expect. You simply want to create clothes, not deal with all the tiny other details of a runway show. Thinking back to the start of it has you remembering what you’ve been through these past few months.
You hate how much you think of Seungcheol at this moment. He has been the biggest surprise of them all.
He isn’t even helping you with your project, yet you have seen him so many times, he might as well be. You’re not sure when you started to tolerate his presence, but somewhere along the way, he grew to be one of the few people you wanted to see more.
And that corny nickname he gave you… Why does part of you like it? Damn, you wish you weren't thinking of him. Your thoughts of him are getting so bad. You can hear his voice—could hear that ridiculous laugh that makes you want to join in with him.
The contagious laugh is so prominent in your mind that you swear it’s right next to you.
Goodness. Even when he has no reason to be in your thoughts, he finds a way to squirm in. Or maybe you just find excuses to bring him in. Nevertheless, the latter is something you don’t want to admit to.
You regain focus on your iPad with the aim of distracting yourself. You’re about two minutes into sketching another outfit when he who should not be mentioned's voice sounds in your head again.
It’s so clear and getting louder. It’s repeating your name, spreading an odd warmth through your chest.
“Are you ignoring me?”
A hand touches your forearm, causing you to loosen your grip on your stylus. It rolls off the edge of the table into a person’s hand. Your gaze follows up the arm until it rests on their face.
Seungcheol chuckles at your startled expression.
“You okay, Cherry?” he asks with mirth.
Have you thought of him so much that you somehow manifested his presence? Irritated at the lack of control over your thoughts, you snatch the pen from his grasp. If only you could rein in your thoughts as well.
“What are you doing here?” you question, glancing behind his shoulder. For once, you don’t see his business clique. Your shoulders ease at this, not ever wanting to see them after what happened. The only person you see is a tall man with stunning features. He’s watching Seungcheol, so you guess they’re together.
Since your show project is never far from your mind, you take a mental note to ask him to be one of your models before he leaves.
“Just passing by,” he shrugs, then glances at your iPad. “That looks nice so far.”
Your gaze cast down at your sketch again. There is just a figure with a long, flowy skirt. Nothing extravagant.
“Thanks,” you reply slowly, but it sounds more like a question.
This time it’s his turn to ask, “What are you doing here?”
“Needed a different environment to work in,” you answer. It isn’t a lie, but you aren’t going to disclose why you need a different environment in the first place. Family drama is never a conversation you enjoy having. And you definitely aren’t going to have it with him. Even if you two are getting closer, he isn’t on Dae’s level of friendship.
“Ah,” he pauses and before he can say anything else, you speak up.
“Who’s your friend?”
Seungcheol peers over his shoulder as if he needs a reminder of who he’s with. “Mingyu.”
“You think you can bring him over?”
He snaps his eyes back to you; they’re slightly wide, briefly before narrowing. “Why? You’re going to try to seduce him?”
Are you just imagining the bitterness hidden behind his teasing tone?
“He is handsome,” you observe. You drift your attention to Mingyu. His dark hair is pushed behind his ears, a few strands hanging in front of his face. He wears a short-sleeved shirt that exposes his muscles. You hope he wasn’t asked to be someone else’s model already.
Seungcheol doesn’t seem amused by your response.
“Yeah? Get in line, Cherry. He gets a lot of people batting their eyelashes at him.”
“Is that why you hang out with him? You’re trying to get his leftovers?” A smirk grows on your face as you look back at him.
Seungcheol stares down at you with an unreadable expression. “I don’t need his leftovers.”
“Then where’s your line of people batting their eyelashes?” you challenge.
“Right here,” he taunts, eyes sparkling with vain as he leans over your table to get closer.
You scoff at his answer and move away from him. You need space to think clearly. “I am not batting my eyelashes at you, Seungcheol.”
“Maybe not,” he says, “but you have your own ways of showing your affection.”
“Like?” you raise an eyebrow. The only thing you feel like you’re showing him is an annoyed look.
“Like not telling me to go away when you first saw me.”
“That’s affection to you?” you laugh in disbelief.
Seungcheol shakes his head. “I’m telling you that’s how you show affection. I think I’m growing on you, Cherry.”
You resist the urge to roll your eyes and instead give him a scowl. You move farther away from him to show you definitely aren’t growing a liking for him—even if your heart hints otherwise.
“You will never grow on me. Not with those ‘friends’ of yours,” you reply.
“Hey, they’re doing you a favor,” he says, bemused at your sudden hostility toward them.
“Not those friends,” you sigh. Does he really need to be told which group of people you are talking about? Surely, he doesn’t think his business friends are such saints to not consider them.
“They just aren’t used to your people,” he reasons before sitting down across from you.
You give him a pointed look. “My people?”
“You know, the flashy fashion and such,” he says and gestures at your outfit as if to make a point; it’s another fit that “normal” people won’t wear for everyday attire.
“So that gives them the green light to insult me constantly?” you question, a little astonished at how he’s defending them. You understand they’re his friends, but is he so far up their asses he can’t see just how ugly their personalities are?
“You know you’re not all sunshine and rainbows, too, right?” he retorts.
You have to force your jaw not to drop. “Oh, I’m sorry. Next time I’ll let them say all the shit they want to and not defend myself since, evidently, no one else will.”
The indirect jab at Seungcheol doesn’t go unnoticed by him.
“I told them to stop,” he frowns, thinking back to the lounge.
“Ah right, how could I forget? How silly of me,” you answer sarcastically. Although he did try to stop them, you feel he could’ve done more—maybe been more assertive. You feel he isn’t one hundred percent on your side, and that hurts you more than it should.
You make sure your iPad is locked before you stuff it in your bag along with your stylus. This isn’t how you wanted, nor imagined, your conversation with Seungcheol to go.
“You just gave them a bad first impression. You weren’t very friendly when we first met.”
You pause in your movements as your mind whirls back to seeing him at Jeonghan’s door instead of Minghao.
“Neither were your friends,” you recall.
“They would’ve been nicer if you—”
“I really can’t believe you’re defending them right now.”
“I’m just saying you all have some issues that need to be solved, and not everyone has been on their best behavior,” he sighs.
Your eyes scan his face, sensing the trouble he’s going through at being in the middle of two sides. It’s then you realize he will never have your back completely due to his conflict of interests.
This shouldn’t bother you.
You had planned to never talk to him again once you were done working with his friends on your project, yet there is a tightening feeling in your chest that doesn’t make you smile. Some part of you is starting to oppose that original idea.
“I doubt these ‘issues’ will ever be resolved,” you reply, tossing your bag’s strap over your shoulder.
“Why not? We can all talk it through,” he says quickly, so you can’t leave. The look of hope on his face has you considering it for a split second, but you know that won’t go the way he’s imagining.
“I’ll make it easy for you, Seungcheol,” you begin and ignore his offer. “Don’t talk to me ever again.”
You should’ve known he isn’t going to let you go that easily. He grabs your wrist gently when you walk past him to leave.
“Where did that come from?” he wonders, tone teetering with confusion and annoyance.
“Don’t message me either,” you simply answer and pull your arm from his grasp. He looks baffled at your response, sitting still as you move away.
Before leaving, you stop at Mingyu. You give him the quick project explanation you’ve given to others before handing him your card. He tells you he’ll consider it, which isn’t what you want to hear, but at least he isn’t taken by anyone yet. You don’t want to linger around him any longer because Seungcheol is bound to come over since they came here together.
You leave just in time as you spot Hana, Hajun, and Soonyoung walking over to the café. You see through the café’s window as they greet Seungcheol and Mingyu. Some things will never change.
As you climb into your car, you feel a pair of eyes on you. The urge to turn back to confirm your suspicion of who it is is strong, but you keep your gaze forward. You didn’t stay at the café as long as you anticipated and hope your parents are done fighting when you get home.
You sit on Dae’s apartment floor as you pencil your clothes patterns on your fabric. With your mom back in town, you and your sister have been spending time at other people’s residences. You at Dae’s, and her at her own friend’s. You two have never been that close, so being separated from her doesn’t bother you as much as it would bother other siblings. Nevertheless, you’re still the big sister and worry about her occasionally—often sending text messages to check up.
You and Dae have music playing as you work on separate pieces. Even though you’re fine working alone, it’s comforting being with a friend right now. There’s a lot on your mind, and you just need something to distract yourself. Keeping your hands moving is a big help for that.
Your father has allowed your mother to stay while she finds another place to go. Her being at home means lots of fighting. At least for once, it isn’t silent in the house. You and your sister spend most of the time in your own rooms, only coming out for dinner. This isn’t new, but it feels more like a prison than before. The good side of Mom staying is she cooks dinner, which allows you to focus on your project. You have fulfilled all your helper positions—thankfully, Mingyu came around in the end and said yes—so you are focusing on bringing your sketches to life.
“My hands are cramping,” Dae whines, bringing your attention to her. You finish the line you are drawing and sit back on your heels.
“Take a rest,” you suggest. Dae shakes her head.
“I’ve got a quota to meet. If I can finish it now, I can have the rest of the day off,” she explains and goes back to her work.
“If you say so,” you mumble before finishing your work.
Ten minutes pass until she speaks again.
“I ran into Seungcheol today on campus,” Dae says casually. You pause your movements at her sentence.
“And that matters to me how?” you wonder, keeping your gaze locked on your task at hand. Just his name has your heart racing. Though, you conclude it to be from anger.
“He asked about you,” she replies and stands up, a cut piece of fabric in her hand.
“I hope you told him I moved across the globe,” you mumble and grab the scissors you had brought. However, you can’t really focus on anything, so you simply mess around with the crystals you have to hold down the fabric.
Dae laughs a little and shakes her head. “I told him you are moping without him.”
You flicker your gaze to hers quickly, mouth open at her disloyalty.
“I am not moping, and if I was, it wouldn’t be because of him,” you argue fiercely, unknowingly moving your hands as you speak.
Dae’s gaze glances at the scissors still in your grasp. “Let’s put that down when we’re talking about Seungcheol, okay?”
You peer at the object and scoff. “It’s comforting me right now, so no.”
“How exactly is it comforting you?”
“I’m imagining sticking it where the sun doesn’t shin—”
“Yn,” Dae scolds.
“You asked,” you say, then set them down reluctantly.
Dae eyes your movements carefully before speaking, “He just wanted to know how you were doing.”
“I’m doing fabulous,” you snap, hoping that is what she had told him. Your tone is a little harsher than you mean.
“I told him you were doing fine,” she answers your silent question.
You sigh. “Both start with ‘f’, so you were close enough, I guess.”
“You know what else starts with ‘f’?” she asks.
“Fudge? Which we should go get, by the way.”
“Forlorn,” she answers, dismissing your attempt for sweets. “You’re forlorn.”
“I am not sad and lonely,” you huff. Sure, your family drama is at a high right now, and you just dumped your not-so-friend-who-you-were-starting-to-like-being-with.
You are not sad. You are not lonely.
“You’re also in fenial,” Dae adds.
“I’m in what?”
“Fenial.”
“You mean denial?”
“Yes, you are.”
“Huh?!”
You stare at her, puzzlement written all over your face. She smiles at that, pinning her fabric to her dress form and then turning to you.
“You’re in denial that you miss him.”
“What is fenial?” you ask, disregarding her statement about how you feel about Seungcheol. You are not missing him. He has chosen his side—alright, not really, but his actions say otherwise. He is not on Team Yn.
Dae groans. “We were on f-words, and I had to improvise. I just wanted to tell you you’re in denial.”
“And you’re felusional.”
“How about we just change to d-words?” she asks when she notices what word you mean.
“Or change the subject entirely.”
You stand up, stretching your arms over your head and twisting your body to ease your back as you’ve been hunched over for a while. Dae stays silent as she lets the topic rest momentarily. You leave to grab a glass of water before sitting on her couch. Just as you think she’s letting it go, she speaks.
“Do you think he’s a bad person?”
“Dae,” you sigh in a warning. You came here in hopes of getting away from your problems, not facing them.
“It’s a yes or no question,” Dae states sternly.
Instead of responding right away, you take a drink from your cup. The cold liquid feels refreshing, and you relish in the feeling before her question echoes in your head.
Finally, you say, “No.”
Dae slows her movements on her dress form and peers at you. She doesn’t look at you playfully or pitifully, which you appreciate, but you still don’t want to talk about it. She seems to want otherwise.
“So, why did you stop talking to him?”
“I told you before,” you answer. “I don’t want to be around someone who won’t stand up for me. They’re his friends, and I’m not going to force him to choose.”
“You want him to, though,” she observes. Even though you want to deny that, you know she is right.
“Well, I didn’t want to force him to. I thought he would just do that upon seeing how rude his friends are.” Your thumbs play with the condensation on your glass.
“You’re not innocent either, Yn,” Dae answers softly so as to not hurt your feelings. It doesn’t help.
“Great, so you’re siding with them now as well?” you exhale, exhausted.
“No,” she replies seriously. “I’m trying to show you that he could have picked them over you.”
“Explain,” you say as you try not to lose your temper for a change.
“You’re saying his friends are rude—”
“They are,” you interject.
“I’m not saying they aren’t. Just listen to me,” she continues when you nod. “You’re saying his friends are rude, and he should ditch them, but if you’re being mean, then shouldn’t he leave you too?”
There is an argument on the tip of your tongue that never forms. Her words sink into your mind, processing what she means.
“What his friends are saying to you is not right, and I get why you’re fighting against them, but I wouldn’t hate Seungcheol for not unfriending them.”
“He still doesn’t always have my back,” you counter.
“Hm,” she concurs. “That he could do better on.”
You sit still as you muse about what she told you. She has a valid point, and part of you is grateful he didn’t leave you despite you always giving off the impression of wanting him to.
“And I don’t hate him,” you murmur, lower than your normal volume, but Dae hears you.
She exhales slowly, glancing at you sincerely. She gives you a reassuring smile. “I know.”
“Can you play that one more time?” you ask as you lean over Jihoon’s shoulder.
“Sure,” he answers and clicks a button. The sound plays from his speakers once more. You move away and begin to pace in his room. Your eyes stare down at your feet while you carefully listen. Having four elements seemed good at first, but now you are having trouble finding a beat that fits all four. You like some of the pieces Jihoon created, but they often fit more with one element.
“Something just isn’t,” you trail off once the song fades out.
“Can’t you just make four separate tracks?” Chan, who you met through Soonyoung a week ago, pipes in from Jihoon’s bed. He claims he has nothing to do and wants to help as well. At first, you’re unsure. His major is dance, like Soonyoung’s, so what knowledge does he have about music production? Despite your original disposition, he turns out to be more helpful than you initially thought.
“I don’t have enough time on stage for that,” you explain. In order for the show to not run for an entire day, each student is given a limited amount of time for their section of the show.
You all sit in silence as you think about what to do.
“Hey Jihoon, Chan—Oh,” a familiar voice rings out in the room. All heads turn to the door to see Seungcheol standing there.
It’s been nearly two weeks since you saw him, and during said weeks, you had been avoiding him. You didn’t let yourself be alone with him, let alone let him speak a word to you.
The fight you had with him is still prominent in your mind, but what’s more evident is the way your body reacts when he gives you any attention. You feel betrayed by your own body when you feel a pang in your chest or a lingering desire to be close to him again. It’s as if you lost something you could’ve had if it weren’t for his wishful thinking. He wants his two worlds to coexist, but that isn’t going to happen. Maybe you would’ve given him an ultimatum, but you aren’t sure if he would even pick you. Hell, why would he when he’s known them longer? No reason to put yourself in that position.
“I didn’t know you’d be here,” he says, taken aback. Before you can question what he is doing here, Chan speaks.
“Hey, Cheol,” Chan greets. “Can you give us some help real quick?”
Chan’s question pulls you from your sappy thoughts and look at Chan as if he grew two heads. Seungcheol? Helping with music?
“We can figure it out ourselves, we don’t need—”
“Is this the music for your project?” he interrupts and walks inside the small room.
Sighing, you move away when he nears. “Yeah, but I don’t see how you could help.”
“Play it, please,” Seungcheol directs to Jihoon, ignoring your comment. Jihoon obliges before you can stop him. For the nth time, the music sounds in the room.
You stay silent as Seungcheol stares at the screen. His brows are drawn together, and his lips are in a slight pout. You realize you have never seen him so serious before. You don’t know why he’s so focused on a project he has nothing to do with.
As the song ends, another voice comes from the doorway.
“Cheollie, we’re leav—What are you doing here?”
To your disappointment, Hajun is standing at the door. Though what you really get a kick out of is her outfit. For the first time, she isn’t in pants. Her skirt stops a few inches above her knee, and her blouse is form-fitting rather than loose—like she normally wears.
Instinctively, your eyes drift to Seungcheol. You didn’t realize his attire until now. Despite it not being a suit, he wears slacks and a patterned top. A simple and clean look but is still nice. Were they on…?
Even though her question is most likely directed at you based on her tone, Seungcheol answers, “Give us a moment, Hajun. I’ll be out in a second.”
“But the—”
“Wait in the car then,” he replies sternly, eyes not leaving the computer screen. She fumes, gives you one final glare, then leaves.
“You have other files?” Seungcheol questions.
“Yes, but they’re either missing an element or don't fit any of them,” Jihoon explains.
You can’t recall ever telling Seungcheol about the theme of your project, so why is he acting as if this isn’t news to him? Maybe he put it together upon seeing your designs, or maybe his friends told him about it. Does that mean they talk about you in private? Probably. Still, you can’t help but want to ask.
“How did—” you begin, but Seungcheol stops you.
“Have you done one file with all four?”
“It was too long for her project,” Chan explains.
Suddenly, you feel you are being pushed out of your project. They’re talking about you as if you aren’t standing a few feet from them.
“This is my show, remember?” you huff. However, no one reacts to your question.
Your patience drastically decreases. It doesn’t help that the bane of your existence is the cause of being overthrown.
“So, just cut each element file to make them shorter and create transitions,” Seungcheol suggests. “She’ll just have to organize her lineup to match.”
“That’s a stup—” you began.
“That may work,” Jihoon mumbles, then says to himself. “Such an obvious solution, too.”
You open your mouth to speak, only to be interrupted again.
“It may sound choppy if not done correctly, but that won’t be a problem since you’re making the track,” Chan adds with a supporting smile.
“Will you buffoons stop interrupting me?!” you exclaim, stomping a foot like you are a child.
They all turn toward you. Seungcheol chuckles softly at your scowl.
“Shouldn’t we be getting a ‘thank you,’ Cherry?” Seungcheol asks cockily.
Chan and Jihoon look at him, confused, never having heard that name before. To be fair, no one has.
“No, because you all just decided things without me,” you argue and gesture to the screen to prove your point.
“We were helping you,” Seungcheol rephrases.
“You were taking ove—”
“Come here,” he says, holding out his hand. You look at it as if he has just stuck it in sewer water.
“Like hell I will. You can leave. Hajun is waiting for you anyway. I need to finish working with Jihoon,” you scoff and angle your body to the screen to dismiss him.
“I don’t know why I offered my hand,” he mumbles under his breath, but it’s so quiet you can still hear it.
“Great question,” you say. “I don’t know why either, because I’m never going anywh—”
“I should’ve just taken yours.”
Seungcheol suddenly grabs your wrist, firm enough so you can’t escape but not so rough to where he’s hurting you. He starts walking toward the door with you in tow. Unless you want him to clean the floor with your body, you have no choice but to follow.
He pulls you into the empty bedroom next door, shutting it before he releases you. He presses his back against the door to make sure you can’t make a run for it.
“That’s your tenth time interrupting me,” you hiss, a finger pointing at him accusingly. It’s bad enough he waltzed in and made decisions for your project without consulting you. Now he wants to, what? Force you to talk to him? Force you to forgive him?
“It was probably like three times, and Jihoon interrupted you as well,” Seungcheol says.
“He’s not an ass like you,” you reply.
“Oh, I’m an ass?”
You move closer to him, finger now pressing into his chest. Your unwanted yearning for him is transforming into anger. It’s a way to divert the denial you’re feeling at how much you missed being near him. Even if he has pissed you off before, you didn’t realize how much he has wormed his way into your life. To suddenly cut him off made it harder not to think of him. Now that he is here in front of you, you don't know what else to do but to default to how you initially felt around him—annoyed.
Surely, the increased heart rate is due to being irate, not because you are nearly toe-to-toe with Seungcheol.
“A big ass. Huge! One that I—No!”
You quickly stop your sentence when he opens his mouth. The finger on his chest is now pressing against his mouth to quiet him.
“Let me finish, dammit. You’re rude and insufferable. You’re the biggest ass I’ve ever met. One that I wouldn’t mind kicking—with my heels on, mind you.”
Seungcheol looks at you, pleased, which only intensifies the fire in you. Once he starts speaking, you quickly retract your finger. The feel of his mouth moving against your finger feels like fire against your skin—burning and making you feel warm.
“You sure you can balance on one leg long enough to do that?” he taunts.
After letting out a big exhale while stepping away, you ask, “What are you even doing here?”
“I promised I would help Joshua with something,” he explains. Hearing his name, it dawns on you that you are probably in his room. He and Jihoon have been roommates for a few months now, so you see him frequently.
“Why are you dressed like that?” you question next, eyes going up and down his body swiftly.
“I went out to dinner,” he shrugs, not finding a big deal in what he’s wearing.
You aren’t going to bring her up. You really aren’t. So, why can’t you stop your damn mouth from running?
“With Hajun?”
Something in your tone must have gotten Seungcheol’s attention more. A stupid smirk forms on his stupid face.
“Something on your mind, Cherry?” he quips. You hate when he has that mischievous grin of his.
“Besides wanting to kick you? No.”
Rather than Seungcheol being offended by your answer, his smile only grows. “I’ve missed your sassy mouth.”
There’s a tug in your chest at his words, something akin to a siren's call—luring you to someone dangerous. At least, dangerous to your heart.
It feels good to be missed by him, but you still can’t let go of the words he said to you in that café.
“I’m sure your friends are ecstatic to not have seen me lately,” you huff. Even though you are tired of thinking of them when you’re around him, you still bring them up. It’s just easier to latch onto a reason to be mad at him.
“I’m not talking about them right now,” he says firmly.
Seungcheol pushes off the door to stand closer to you. You take one step back, but one of his hands presses against the small of your back to bring you to him. The close proximity has you trying to lean away, but he doesn’t let that happen.
“Tell me what you’re thinking,” he encourages, voice softer.
Your heart is hammering in your chest. You’re still worked up from all the irritation you feel. You’re probably overreacting, but being alone with him stirs up feelings you’ve locked away.
“Let go of me,” you reply in lieu and wiggle in his hold. It’s fruitless.
“Yn,” he says lowly. Hearing your name from his lips has your breathing stop. It’s odd to hear it when he normally uses the nickname he gave you. “I’m sorry.”
You don’t need him to tell you what he’s apologizing for.
“Don’t,” you warn and press a hand against his chest. “You don’t mean that.”
His body feels soft, yet firm under your touch. While you would focus on his build, the feeling of his racing heart catches your attention more. Your eyes snap to meet his, not noticing you are staring at your hand on him. Is he nervous?
“I do. I’m sorry you felt I wasn’t on your side,” he says, mouth tugging down. “I want to be there for you.”
There is that feeling in your chest again—one you have been trying to force down for days. You try to hold onto the fizzing anger in you, but Dae’s words resurface in your mind. He could have left you. After all, he is right. You were rude when you first met him.
Seungcheol’s gaze darts between your eyes and then to your lips. You say nothing as he does so, your own eyes sweeping across his features.
As if in a daze, he starts to slowly lean forward.
You press the hand against his chest harder to stop him. “Cheol, you can’t. I—”
“What is it, baby?” he murmurs, thumb rubbing against the small of your back. The pet name wraps you in a blanket of illusion where you’re really his. One where there isn’t constant drama looming around you. You like the way it sounds from him.
“I have lipstick on,” you reply quietly.
Seungcheol flickers his gaze to your eyes, his own forming small crescents as he chuckles. “Is that your excuse to stop me?”
“No,” you answer with a slight shake of your head.
“Then stop talking,” he laughs softly and leans in again. Your hand on his chest relaxes as you let his body come nearer.
His lips gently brush against yours, almost experimentally. The simple feel of his mouth on yours has your body tingle. Your chest feels tight the longer you hold your breath in anticipation. As soon as he starts to press his lips on yours more, there is a loud noise from the other side.
“Shua, wait! I think Seungcheol and Yn are in ther—”
You both quickly separate from each other, eyes wide as saucers when the door opens. Joshua stands with a hand on his doorknob; his lips are in a deep frown at seeing you two.
“Not in my room,” he whines, body sagging when he sees both of your expressions.
“Huh? What do you mean? What’s going on—Oh,” Chan calls out as he comes behind him.
You’re sure neither one of you is untidy in terms of clothes and hair, but the look on your faces is a flashing neon sign indicating what was occurring or about to occur.
“Nothing happened,” Seungcheol says and pushes a hand through his hair.
“Hopefully not. You have your own place for that,” Joshua replies. The thought of doing something intimate with Seungcheol has your cheeks feeling hot.
Not wanting to think of that, you glance at Chan. “Did Jihoon get the music sorted?”
Chan, still a little startled, nods. “He’s ready whenever you are.”
“Great, I’m coming.”
Chan says okay before heading back to the other room. Joshua makes his way into the room while you and Seungcheol start toward the exit. However, before you can completely leave, Seungcheol grabs your upper arm gently to stop you.
He leans toward your ear to whisper, “It was an end-of-the-year dinner with my whole class. My friends are probably wondering where I am.”
Without another word, he presses a chaste kiss to your forehead before sending you a smile and rounding the corner at the end of the hall that leads to the front door.
Your brain hasn’t caught up to anything that has happened in the last few minutes. From being frustrated with Seungcheol to nearly kissing him. You don’t even like him, so why is your heart soaring at thinking of possibly being in a relationship with him? Why does knowing he didn’t go to dinner alone with Hajun make you feel relieved? Hell, you don’t even find him attractive… Right? Yeah. He isn’t your type. His smile isn’t pretty. His eyes definitely don’t shine. His dimples are unflattering. His laugh is cute—obnoxious! His laugh is obnoxious.
Your shoulders deflate.
Oh, fuck.
Seeing Seungcheol on campus stirs a torrent of emotions through you.
The sight of him has your lips tingle as if you can feel the ghost of his mouth on yours. You ponder on what would have happened if Joshua hadn’t barged into the room. Would the kiss have been short and sweet? Long and passionate? Quick and desperate? Would he have said something that would’ve changed the trajectory of your relationship? Did you want that?
You have been snuffing out any thoughts about Seungcheol that crosses the line of friendship. There isn’t a reason why you can’t be more than friends—besides the disapproval from his business friends. You chalk it up to being too busy to put much effort into a partner. Plus, is Seungcheol even the person you want?
“You know you’ve been staring at the man for the past three minutes, right?”
Dae’s voice knocks on your mind’s door. Your gaze tears from Seungcheol’s back, who is ahead of you in the line ordering, to peer at your friend. She wears a small smile and is watching you closely.
“Not on purpose,” you argue. “I was just staring off into the distance. He just happened to be there.”
“You’ve been hanging out with him a lot,” she observes.
With the conversation about Seungcheol, you can’t help but drift your eyes back to him.
He must sense your stare because out of the blue, he’s looking over his shoulder at you. The cashier follows his gaze, then says something to Seungcheol to which he nods in reply. Although the cashier turns back to the screen in front of them, Seungcheol’s eyes linger on you. He gives you a quick wink, mouth raising in a lopsided smile before finally averting his gaze.
“I haven’t,” you answer late and glance away.
“Uh huh,” Dae says, unbelieving.
“He’s just somehow always around when I’m working on my project with his friends. I’m not hanging out with him,” you explain.
“Maybe not directly, but he’s still there,” she shrugs.
“Trust me. I wish he wouldn’t be,” you sigh, shuffling forward when the line moves. “He’s distracting when I’m trying to get work done.”
Dae giggles. “Oh, I’m sure he is.”
“Not in that way,” you scold with a light arm slap. “I mean, his friends are easily susceptible to topic changes. What should be a thirty-minute meeting turns into an hour.”
Dae hums but doesn’t say anything else when you both are near the cashier finally. After ordering for yourself, you take out your card ready to pay.
“Actually, it’s already been paid for,” the worker says.
You cock your head to the side in confusion. “What?”
The cashier turns to Dae, who is ordering next to you. “And your friend’s.”
Suddenly, Dae is giggling. Though they aren’t quiet chuckles, they are loud and obnoxious. So much so, you feel it could be heard throughout the whole building.
“How kind of him, Yn,” she teases you, gladly accepting the free meal. You don’t need to specify the “he”. Since the deed is already done, you have no choice but to grab your food and move along.
“You should thank him,” Dae suggests as you walk to an empty table.
You scan the area and spot him with his back to you again. He sits with Vernon, Doyun, Joshua, and Mingyu. None of them notice you, and you turn around before that changes.
“I don’t want to, not in front of his friends,” you say, taking a bite of your meal.
“Why not?”
“I just feel it’ll be awkward,” you mumble.
Dae smiles. “It wouldn’t be, but fine. Let’s write him a note instead.”
You glance at her questionably. “Or I could just text him.”
“That’s so boring,” she scoffs, reaching inside your purse.
“Hey!” you try to protest but that doesn’t stop her from rummaging through your bag. She pulls out your sticky notes that have a cute design on them.
“Don’t you have yours?” you grumble as she starts to scribble on it.
“Yours are nicer,” she answers simply. She slides the pad over to you and her pen. “Now, write a thank you.”
Reluctantly, you do as you’re told. While you do so, Dae digs into your purse again. This time she pulls out your travel-sized perfume. You figure she wants to freshen up, but rather, she tears off the sticky note and spritzes the paper with the scent.
“That is so old school,” you groan, cringing at the cheesy act.
Dae smirks and folds the note. She pushes it in your hand and then covers her barely-eaten food.
“Let’s go give it to him as we’re leaving,” she instructs.
“But I barely started eating,” you complain, glancing down at your food.
“Do you really want to stay in this stuffy area? We can eat somewhere else.”
You watch as she stands up. Sensing she isn’t going to take no for an answer, and you don’t like eating in here anyway, you oblige and grab your meal.
“Any slower and we’ll have to eat during the lecture,” she says.
“We should’ve just left without sitting down,” you reply and started walking in the direction of Seungcheol’s table.
You don’t get the chance to back out of Dae’s plan since she taps his shoulder to get his attention as soon as she’s in arm's reach.
He jumps, turning as his eyes raise to flicker between the two of you. You bite back the giggle that almost escapes upon seeing his stuffed cheeks. He reminds you of a cute chipmunk, and there is a tingle in your fingertips that makes you want to poke his face.
Seungcheol seems embarrassed at having been caught like that, quickly covering his mouth and turning away. Once he swallows his food, he looks at you both again.
“Yn has something to give you,” Dae says.
You suddenly feel like her kid who has been forced to do something because “Mommy said to do it.” His friends are watching inquisitively.
“Oh?” he wonders, eyes glinting with curiosity.
You push out your hand, the folded note sticking out. He takes it slowly. His fingers brush yours as he did so, and you feel like such a love-sick teenager at the subtle giddy feeling bubbling from his graze.
You don’t want to be there when he opens it, so you clutch Dae’s arm and beeline to the exit without a word. You refuse to turn back to see his expression, only focusing on Dae’s endless giggles on the way out.
Your mom has finally found a hotel nearby to stay at. Even though you haven’t seen her in a long time, part of you is glad she is going. However, the little girl in you wants her to stay. To try to fix what is so broken in this fucking house, but that is a wish that will never be granted. You just want the fighting to stop, for you and for your sister. For that to happen, it’s best that she left. She’s been gone for three days; it’s been quiet since. Your father hasn’t said anything, just asked if you and your sister were okay before returning to his office.
Spring break came and went in a blink of an eye. You had no plans besides continuing to work on your project. After your mom left, you transferred all the items you had worked on from Dae’s place back to yours. You hung out with her occasionally, which wasn’t shocking to do, but what you didn’t expect was to talk to Seungcheol throughout the week.
Seungcheol was out of town with his family, so he was pretty busy. Despite this, he still managed to find time to talk to you when he could. Conversations were dragged out due to the delayed responses, but that didn’t matter to you. It was nice to learn more about him and think about something other than your project—even if it were just for a few minutes at a time.
Now your floor is covered in fabric scraps, cut-out fabric pieces, and sewing pattern sketches. Although it’s a mess, seeing your progress feels good.
Outside your door, you hear hurried shuffling. You ignore it as your sister is probably playing around.
“Yn! Your boyfriend is here!” Seoah calls out. You pause in pinning a piece of fabric to your dress form and sigh. You stick the pin in the pin cushion you have on your wrist, then leave your room.
As you are turning the corner, you ask in exasperation, “What are you talking about, Seoah? I don’t have a—Seungcheol?”
You stop in your tracks when you see him standing in the doorway, his name coming out as a gasp. His hair is wavy, which is different from how you normally see it. His dark hoodie and pants combo is nothing spectacular, but it has you wanting to wrap your arms around him to see if he feels as comfortable as he looks.
You quickly blink a few times, gathering yourself again and trying hard not to ponder on your thoughts. You veer toward your sister. “Go to your room.”
“What? You’re not even going to introduce me?” she scoffs, ignoring your demand and turning to Seungcheol. She outreaches a hand to him and bows slightly.
“Hi! I’m Seoah, the better sister.”
Seungcheol chuckles and reciprocates the handshake, bowing slightly as well. “Nice to meet you, Seoah. I’m Seungcheol.”
“I’ve heard about you!” she exclaims. “Yn has talked about you.”
That is a partial lie. You have talked about him, but not with her. She must have heard you talk about him while you spoke to Dae on the phone. Curse your thin walls.
Seungcheol glances past her to you, who stands, annoyed, a little away from the door. He takes in your casual attire, and you realize he’s not used to seeing you like this. You suddenly feel self-conscious. Instead of that making you cower in shyness, you just get irritated.
“Good things, I hope,” he answers your sister with a laugh.
Seoah winces. “Actually, not really—”
“Room! Now!” you huff and point to the hallway. Seoah rolls her eyes.
“Yeah, yeah,” she says. She gives Seungcheol a wave before skipping past you, making sure to “accidentally” bump into you on her way.
Once you hear her door shut, you walk closer to Seungcheol.
“What are you doing here?” you ask in a quiet voice, knowing Seoah probably has an ear pressed up against her wall.
Rather than giving you the answer you’re looking for, he chaffs, “You’ve said bad things about me? I’m hurt.”
“Yeah, well, I’m about to have more bad things to say if you don’t answer my question.”
Seungcheol smiles, seemingly unfazed by your brazen response. “At least you would be talking about me.”
Unamused by his playful tone, you take a step back and push the door closed. Seungcheol presses his palm against the object before it can fully shut. His push on the door is strong enough that you have no choice but to stop your actions.
“Must you always be so snappy?” he questions blithely.
“Must you always be so annoying?” you retort.
“Annoying is subjective.”
“Seungcheol,” you exhale. “I’m busy, so unless it’s something dire, get off my porch.”
“I haven't seen you for a week and suddenly you’ve turned into an old lady.”
Your eyes narrow. The pin cushion comes into view, and you reach to pluck a needle from it.
“This old lady has a weapon, so don’t even start,” you threaten.
Seungcheol takes a step back when he sees the small object. He bites his lower lip as he stares at it. You can tell he’s trying not to laugh. It makes you jab the air toward him, causing him to take another step back.
“Alright, alright, Cherry, put that tiny sword away,” he laughs, hands rising to show mercy.
You oblige, eyes scrutinizing him in case he decides to do something. Though, he simply lowers his arms.
“What do you want?” you ask.
“It’s always ‘what do you want’ and never ‘how are you’,” he sighs teasingly.
Your reply almost leaves your lips until you hear the sound of a door opening from inside.
“Yn? Is there someone at the door?” your father’s voice comes from somewhere behind you. In a panic, you shut the door—so unexpectedly and fast, Seungcheol doesn’t have time to stop you this time.
You turn around to him. “Yeah. I forgot I left something at Dae’s. She’s just brought it back. I need to go meet her.”
Lying to your Dad isn’t something you probably need to do. It’s not like you are banned from having friends or being in a relationship, but you try not to mix too much of your personal life with people you know.
“Ah, alright,” he says. He lingers around for a moment and then leaves the room.
You open the door as soon as he is out of sight. You step out this time. Seungcheol gives you a concerned look, but you pretend not to notice.
“Can we talk in your car?” you ask. It’s better to talk where Seoah isn’t eavesdropping, and your Dad can’t spot you.
Seungcheol doesn’t question you and gestures for you to lead the way.
“You’re not wearing shoes,” he observes as you go down the stairs.
“Good to know you can see,” you reply, not caring about the fact. You’re just going to figure out what he wants then go back inside.
“And you called me insufferable,” he groans.
Suddenly, your feet aren’t touching the floor.
Seungcheol has his arms under your knees and around your back. You instinctively wrap your arms around his neck tightly.
“This is unnecessary!” you shriek at the abrupt change.
“You could get hurt,” he simply says, walking the short distance from your porch steps to his car parked out front.
“It’s concrete, not glass. I would’ve been fine,” you argue.
“You never know.”
Seungcheol’s grip doesn’t loosen, and you know he isn’t going to let you down until he reaches his vehicle. With this knowledge, you decide to let yourself think about the way he holds you so tightly. His hair is tickling your arm, and his cold touch on your bare legs warms your skin the longer it presses against you. For a moment, you dive back into that illusion of being more than friends. It’s a dangerous thought.
Instead of setting you down on the ground when he arrives at his car, he gently rests you on top of his shoes—still not letting your feet touch the rough concrete. It’s a small gesture, but the impact it has on you is big. You warmly stare at him, hoping he doesn’t see it as you wait for him to open the door. The click of the door cues you to climb inside.
“All that work for what?” you laugh lightly when he climbs inside, trying not to seep deeper into the warmth that begins spreading in your chest. He turns on the car to get the AC running.
“For your safety,” he replies as if what he did isn’t anything special. While you hate the part of your brain that wonders if he has done this for anyone else before, you hate another part that wants him to only do these things for you more.
“Should I carry you if you are barefooted next time?” you tease.
The grin on his face is wide enough to accentuate his dimples. “As much as I would love for that to happen, I doubt you can carry me.”
“We can try it now,” you offer, gesturing out the window.
“I would rather not break my tailbone when you drop me,” he laughs.
It’s getting harder to deny that you miss him and his contagious giggles. You laugh along with him briefly.
“So, will you please tell me why you’re here?” you ask when the laughter dies down.
“Another ‘please’? I ought to be around you more if I remind you of that word,” he replies.
“You do, constantly,” you start. “Please go away. Please get to the point. Please shut up. Please—”
“I got it,” he chuckles, and you stop to give him a triumphant smirk.
“I wanted to invite you to dinner with my friends,” he finally reveals.
Hearing the term “my friends” coming from Seungcheol has your smirk slowly evaporating. Upon seeing your change of expression, he quickly elaborates.
“Our friends. Would you like to go to dinner with our friends? Not my… other ones.”
You feel better at knowing it isn’t the group you are avidly evading. “Why would they want me there? Did you not ask about me coming again?”
“Actually,” he pauses, “they asked me to invite you.”
“They did?” you wonder out loud, startled.
“You and Dae.”
“This couldn’t have been asked in a text message?” you ask.
“I wanted to see you,” he shrugs as though there is nothing wrong with that. Which, there isn’t, except it stirs unwanted emotions that make you feel warmer.
You move your gaze from him as you consider the invitation. Your first outing with people other than Dae went horribly, and even though this will be with people you are more fond of, you’re still nervous. Maybe if Dae agrees, you’ll be more inclined.
“Can I get back to you?” you ask.
Seungcheol’s small frown quickly turns upside down when you look at him again. “Yeah, of course,” he forces out.
“Sorry, I just…”
Seungcheol reaches out to you, placing a hand on your thigh lightly to reassure you. “I get it. Don’t feel pressured. We just wanted to get to know you both without talking about your projects.”
You nod slowly, eyes staring down at his hand on your skin. Heat is spreading from his touch to across your body. His other hand comes up and guides your face upward, causing your gaze to tear from his hand to his face. He’s closer than you remember. He smiles at you, those devilish dimples appearing and making your heart melt involuntarily.
“Just let me know,” he speaks lowly, slowly so you hear him clearly. Your mind isn’t sure if he is referring to letting him know about the dinner invitation or letting him know if you want him to kiss you.
Yes to both.
You nod, eyes trailing down to his lips. You watch as they stretch into a bigger grin.
“Good,” he murmurs.
You wonder if he can hear how fast your heart is thumping in his quiet car. Though that is a fleeting thought as he nears your face. Your eyes flutter shut as you meet him halfway.
Like before, his lips graze yours tenderly. It’s so gentle that you have to suppress the shiver your body wants to emit. One of your hands slowly rises to rest against his cheek to bring him closer. His head tilts into your touch.
Seungcheol’s hand that’s on your thigh glides up your side until it rests on your waist. Your lips are pressed against his more than they were at Jihoon’s, but not fully. Despite the slow pace, it’s thrilling to be able to focus on his every touch.
“Not your boyfriend, huh?”
The voice outside has you both springing from each other. You move so fast that your head accidentally hits the passenger window. The thud catches Seungcheol’s attention and before you can glare daggers at your sister, his hands come up to cup the back of your head where you had hit it.
“Are you okay?” he quickly asks. Although you want to indulge in his caring nature, you move his hands so you can turn to face the window. The throbbing is already fading.
Seoah stands with her arms crossed, hips shifted to one side, and a not-so-intimidating stare.
“Well?” she prompts. Her voice is slightly muffled from being outside, but you hear it nonetheless.
You open the door so she can hear you clearly. “You say anything and I’ll—”
“You’re really going to threaten me with your boyfriend here?” she questions, a knowing smile on her annoying face.
“You’re right. Let’s go inside first,” you say before turning to Seungcheol. His face is flushed, and he still seems a little startled by everything that happened. You’ve never seen him so bashful before. He looks rather… cute.
“I’ll get back to you, okay?” you say, starting to slowly leave his car.
That has him swimming out of his thoughts. “Do you need me to—”
You smile at him. “No, Cheol, I don’t need a ‘ride’ back to the door.”
“Watch your step,” he warns softly.
“I will. Drive safe,” you say, fully out of his car and leaning in through his now rolled-down window to see him. You peer over your shoulder to see Seoah waiting a few feet away.
“Also,” he says quickly. “I’ll drive you and Dae and pay for your dinners. If that’s any incentive to come.”
“Tempting,” you playfully reply. “I’ll let you know soon.”
“Okay,” he slowly says. “Oh, and thank you for that note.”
Your body stills at remembering that silly, scented sticky note Dae made you give him days ago.
“Don’t mention it. Seriously,” you reply with a hint of sternness.
“Bye, Cherry,” he smiles. He seems like he wants to say more but decides against it.
“Bye, Seungcheol,” you say.
Per his request, you’re careful with your steps as you retreat back to your door. Before you go back inside, you turn to Seoah.
“What were you doing outside?” you question. You can hear the sound of car tires as she answers.
“Dad sent me out to get you.”
Your eyes widen. “Did he see who I was with?”
“No,” she says. “Just said he didn’t hear you come back in.”
Of course, the one time he decides to be attentive is when Seungcheol comes.
“Don’t tell him about this, alright?” you sigh.
Seoah nods. She may be annoying, but at least she isn’t traitorous. “Are you dating him?”
“No,” you reply sternly. You aren’t. You are just… testing the waters? About to have a friend with benefits? Friends with make-out-sessions? You are nearing an unhealthy spiral from how much you are fretting over the man.
“Do you want to be?” she wonders.
“Enough, Seoah. Just promise me you won’t say anything.”
Seoah stays silent for a moment. You fear you’ll have to plead more, but she ends up sticking out her pinkie finger. You sigh in relief, wrapping your pinkie around hers.
“I promise,” she says.
“Thanks,” you mumble. “Let’s get inside,” you instruct, voice softer than before.
“Please turn in your progress reports. I’ll see you all next week,” Dr. Lim says and motions to the spot on the table in front of him.
You wait as the majority of your peers place their papers in a pile. You’re still on your iPad and editing a few designs. You just can’t get one of them right. Something is off, but you aren’t quite sure of the reason.
Maybe if you hadn’t stayed up last night, your mind wouldn’t be so sluggish.
Seungcheol wasn’t quite ready to end the conversation once he left. Countless texts transpired before he eventually called. The conversations were easygoing enough for you to continue working on your designs while you talked to him. You learned he had an older brother and parents who all lived a few cities over. He hasn’t visited as many times as he wished due to being busy with classes. Though, he tries to go when he can.
You don’t disclose much about your family, keeping it simple by saying you have a sister, whom he met, and parents. He doesn’t pester too much on the topic, and you’re glad. Instead, you talk about what you’ve both been up to and your hobbies (he likes to play games and drink with friends).
You stayed up later than normal and are now paying the price for it. Though even through your haze, you don’t regret it.
“Come on, Yn,” Dae says when the line to leave shortens.
“One second,” you reply as you focus back on your sketch.
Dae sighs but leaves you alone, going to turn in her own report.
Maybe the coloring? But if you adjust the shade, it will be too close to another design. Is the one slit in the skirt too common? Maybe if you add two… Better, but it still isn’t clicking. Perhaps it is the top.
Your hand dances across the screen, drawing and erasing, then redrawing until you finally have something that itches that artistic scratch you are trying to satisfy. The other issue is you need more fabric to make this piece. You’ll have to note that down in your to-do list.
Once you are finally packed, you leave your table and set your paper on top of everyone else’s.
Dr. Lim glances up at seeing you walk past. “Thanks, Yn. I look forward to seeing what you have so far.”
“I am as well. Let me know if there are any changes that could make my designs better,” you reply, pushing your bag strap higher on your shoulder.
He smiles at you; it’s not the first time you’ve asked this. “Of course. See you next week.”
You say your goodbye and then exit to find Dae. She’s outside the classroom, leaning against the wall as she speaks to someone. He looks familiar and you recall his name to be Yejun. He was with Jeonghan when you first met him.
“You get everything sorted?” Dae asks when she sees you. You nod. “Do you remember Yejun?”
Another nod.
“It’s good to see you again,” he greets with a warm smile.
The first response you have is it probably isn’t good to see you since most people don’t find pleasure in your presence. You’re sure he just said that out of courtesy.
Alternatively, you opt for, “You as well.”
“Oh, did Seungcheol ask you about that dinner with the guys?” Dae wonders to you.
Ah, that’s right. You were going to ask her about that today but got distracted with revising your design.
“He did, but I wanted to see if you are going first,” you answer.
“Yeah, me and Yejun are planning to go.”
You glance at Yejun in surprise. Seungcheol didn’t mention his name.
Upon seeing your expression, Yejun explains, “Jeonghan invited me since I’m helping Dae with her project.”
“Hm,” you hum in affirmation. It makes sense.
“So, are you coming?” Dae questions.
You’re conflicted about what you want. What if this dinner ends like how the lounge night went? You planned to stick with Dae if she goes, but now that Yejun is going, will she leave you? What if something happens and you need her?
“Stop overthinking and just say yes. It’ll be fine,” Dae interrupts your mental questions and gives you a friendly push.
Exhaling deeply, you agree to go.
“Great,” she smiles. “Yejun offered to give us a ride.”
The mention of a ride makes you recall Seungcheol’s offer. “Oh, Ch-Seungcheol actually said he’ll drive us and pay for our dinner.”
You peer at Yejun, recalling he didn’t mention he’ll do the same for Yejun, but you figure Seungcheol won’t mind. At least the ride part. You don’t know if he’ll pay for Yejun too.
Yejun gets the hint at your look and chuckles. “Don’t worry about me. I’ll catch a ride with Jeonghan.”
“I’ll go with Yejun and Jeonghan,” Dae offers.
Your heart starts to race at the idea of being left alone with Seungcheol again. It wouldn’t be the worst thing, and you rather enjoyed his company, but lately, you’ve been treading on an indivisible balance beam—teetering on feelings you aren’t ready to come to terms with. Maybe you are, but you’re too nervous that Seungcheol doesn't feel the same. Yeah, he tried to kiss you—twice—but that doesn’t mean he likes you. You can kiss people you don’t like. He could be looking for something noncommittal and somehow sees that in you.
Great, now you’re concerned if that’s how he sees you. Someone who isn’t dedicated to one specific person. Does he think that of you in general or in terms of relationships? You just added another reason why you shouldn’t be left alone with him. Way to go, brain. Seriously.
“Actually, I’m sure he won’t mind you both. Let me just ask real quick,” you respond hastily and pull out your phone.
“It’s okay,” Dae says, but you ignore her. You send a message to Seungcheol. You know he’s in class, according to previous conversations, but you hope he sees the text soon.
“It’ll probably be more fun in Jeonghan’s anywa—”
Your eyes shoot down when your phone vibrates.
“He said yes! It’s all good. He even offered to pay for you, Yejun,” you say, a little happier than you should’ve been. Dae eyes you suspiciously.
“Really? Oh, wow. Alright. I can’t turn down a free ride and meal,” he laughs and looks at Dae. “That alright with you, Dae?”
She slowly tears her sight from you and gives Yejun a small smile. “Yeah, it sounds perfect.”
“Awesome. I’ll tell him to pick you guys up first,” you say.
“We can just meet at yours?” Dae offers, but you shake your head.
“I need the extra time to get ready,” you lie. She says nothing at the little fib. She should know you don’t want a lot of people at your house.
“Right,” she says slowly. “Then Yejun, can you meet me at mine? I don’t want Seungcheol driving all through the city since he’s doing us a favor.”
“Okay,” he agrees.
“Yejun!” a familiar, light voice calls. You look around and see Jeonghan a few feet away.
“Class calls,” Yejun sighs and starts to walk toward Jeonghan.
Jeonghan directs a kind smile and waves in your direction. You wave back—one that isn’t as enthusiastic as his, but it doesn’t matter. He should be grateful he got a wave at all.
“You ladies coming to dinner this weekend?” he calls from where he is. He could have easily walked over, but he decides to yell across the room instead. People are starting to glance at you all, and you sigh at his antics.
“Yup! We’re even getting a free meal from your friend!” Dae answers, having no problem with the long-distance chat.
Jeonghan laughs, loud enough for you to hear it and for your mouth to dip down at the sound. Better yet, it isn’t even a laugh. It’s a maniacal giggle. That giggly little bitch.
“Oh? Are you now?” he questions, obviously not needing a hint at who the aforementioned friend is. “Well if he’s offering, I’m going to see if he’ll pay for mine too.”
“Pay for your own, and go to class,” you finally join the discussion. You place a hand on Dae’s arm, ready to drag her away from the angelic devil.
“Trying to keep him all to yourself? That’s not fair,” he replies with an over-exaggerated pout.
“That’s not the reason,” you growl, eyes narrowing in a sneer.
“Well, regardless, he’s got money to spare,” Jeonghan chuckles and slips an arm around Yejun’s shoulder when he gets close enough. “Have a nice day!”
You both watch as they ascend the stairs, their laughter fading off the farther they get.
“Seungcheol’s loaded?” Dae asks, surprised.
It takes you a moment to realize what spurs that question. You’re about to say no, but his car and his luxury clothes say otherwise. Hell, even his cologne shouts “expensive”. Though he could’ve gotten all those as gifts, or even got help paying for some. It doesn’t matter if he has lots of money or not, but you didn’t expect him to. No one you really know is that wealthy.
“I’m not sure. Plus, paying for five meals doesn’t mean he’s rich,” you reply honestly. “It doesn’t matter. We need to go get some fabric.”
“Who’s ‘we’?” she teasingly questions, letting you pull her out of the building and to the parking lot.
“You said you needed to go to the store anyway,” you argue.
Dae smiles. “Yeah, but I never said I wanted to go with you.”
“Shut up,” you roll your eyes playfully. Dae giggles and holds onto your arm tighter.
“You can just tell me you want to hang out with me,” she says.
“I’d rather swallow my pin cushion.”
“Ouch. For a moment, I really thought we had something,” Dae sighs dramatically, clutching her chest in faux pain.
“Alright, enough playing around. Let’s get going.”
Just your luck.
You and Dae visit almost every fabric store that your college is sponsored by. Every single one you have gone to so far has the fabric you want out of stock. Dae offers some that are “close to what you want,” but you don’t want them. The fabric you saw online is what you have envisioned for your piece, and you don’t want to settle for less.
There is one more store on the list, and as soon as you walk in, you make your way to where it should be.
There it is!
The navy blue sheer fabric is calling to you.
You’re about eight steps from it when two girls come into view. You hurry to the fabric, but unfortunately, they are standing in front of it. One girl has her hand hovering over the bolts of fabric in that section, seemingly unsure of what she wants. That’s good for you as it means she doesn’t have her eye on the fabric you want. You just need to sneak in and grab it before she makes up her mind.
“Excuse me,” you say to them. When they turn to you, you recognize their faces. They’re in your class and are participating in the runway project. Tori and Siwon, if you remember correctly.
“Oh, Yn,” Tori says. “Need something?”
Though her voice is sweet, you know her intention is not. You’re aware of the way she speaks about you. Always something about how unoriginal you are because you “stole designs.” That or you pay for people to do your work for you. What pathetic lies. They’re common rumors amongst several fashion students. Although you don’t know if all of them are false for others, you know the allegations about you are.
Your gaze on the blue fabric catches her attention, and she turns toward it. “Oh, here’s what I came for.”
Your heart drops when she grabs it, tucking it under her arm and then looking at you again. Her overly innocent smile has your hands clutching at your sides. You know she did this just to spite you. If she really wanted it, she would’ve grabbed it sooner.
“The area is yours,” Tori says, bowing as if you are royalty. It’s a mocking action, which has you nearly stomping your heel onto her exposed foot in her open-toed shoes.
You take a deep breath and eye the fabric in her hold. There isn’t much of it left, which means there won’t be enough for what you need. Part of you doesn’t even want it if she’s going to use it in her designs.
Rolling your shoulders back and lifting your chin, you say, “No wonder you’re one of the least creative students in class. All you do is take others’ ideas. I doubt you even know what to do with that fabric, but good luck.”
The girls scoff before leaving for the cutting station. You stare after them, fire rolling inside.
“Hey, did you find it?” Dae asks when she stops next to you. She has items in her hands that you don’t pay attention to.
“Yeah,” you reply through clenched teeth. “Then Tori took it.”
“Tori from class?”
You gesture to where she is, smiling at the lady who is cutting the fabric for her.
“I’m sorry she beat you to it,” Dae says.
You shake your head. “She didn’t even want it. She took it because she knew I wanted it.”
Dae glances back to her across the store, mouth set in a firm line.
“I’ll tell you what, I’ll lure her and her friend outside and you can snatch the fabric from the counter.”
As much as you like the idea, and appreciate Dae’s support, you shake your head. “I’d probably get kicked out for sabotaging her project.”
“You’re just playing fair,” Dae argues.
“Whatever,” you reply, looking at her arms. “Let’s go check out.”
Dae follows you silently to the registers.
“We can go to another store,” she offers as you wait in line.
“This was the last store that would give it at a discount. I can’t afford it at the regular price,” you explain.
Dae nods grimly. She gently takes the red thread that you’ve been toying with in your hands. “I’ll pay this for you.”
“I’m not that poor,” you sigh and take it back.
She laughs lightly. “I didn’t mean to imply that. I just wanted to make you happy.”
“Thanks. I’ll just find something else,” you conclude, giving her a forced smile.
“And it’ll be better than that cliché navy blue,” Dae says.
“It was a little cliché, huh?” you question. You're grateful for Dae trying to lift your mood.
“Absolutely!”

Friendly Sex - Chapter 7 - The Unknown.
Reader: Looks like there's only one bed.
Eddie: Of course there's only one bed, it's my bedroom. Why would there be two? You knew this before you came over.
Reader: I said it looks like there's only one bed.
Eddie: Well shit you're right there's only one bed
It's long, it's dialogue heavy, but there's fluffy smut in a fucking bed this time.
Chapter warnings: MDI (18+ only), mutual masturbation, p in v sex, explicit language, mentions of drugs. I'm so tired so I haven't a clue if i've left anything out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
You’re a ball of nervous energy as you cycle to work, you tell yourself there’s no reason to be. You were only going to Eddie's place, no big deal, just a couple of pals hanging out. The fact you had shaved, scrubbed, buffed, plucked and exfoliated every reachable inch of skin on your body at 8am was completely unrelated.
You and Eddie had agreed the best option was for him to pick you up straight from work at five, well not straight from work more like four blocks over, you didn’t have a death wish.
You had told your dad you would be staying over at Robin’s tonight, which left you with two remaining issues. The first being you had to ask Robin to cover for you, which meant telling her you would be decidedly elsewhere. The second, and the one that filled you with the biggest sense of unease, was the implication that you would be staying overnight at Eddie’s; and the strange little flutters that accompanied it, flutters that you resolutely refused to recognise as butterflies.
“Morning!” You say breezing into the store.
“What’s got you so chipper?” Robin looks at you slightly disgusted, leaning on the counter.
“Nothing, nothing.” You sidle up to her, resting your head on her shoulder with a sweet smile. “Just happy to see my best friend.”
“What do you want?” She asks flatly, rolling her eyes at the display.
“I need you to say I’m at your place tonight if my dad asks.” You simper, her eyebrows contracting in suspicion.
“Why, where will you actually be?”
“With the guy from the party.” You say it quickly, like ripping off a band-aid, hoping Robin would simply agree and drop the subject; but this was Robin. She turns to face you, her expression burning with curiosity.
“Holy shit! Is this a second date? Are you going on a second date?!” She all but screeches, and you find yourself having PTSD flashbacks of Steve walking in.
“No, it is not a second date, mostly because I don’t think the original hook up counts as a first. Also, I seriously need you to start working on your volume control.” You say through gritted teeth.
“But this is huge!” She exclaims, holding your forearms. “Wait, I thought you said he doesn’t live around here and was just visiting for the party?”
Shit! You did say that the day after you and Eddie made the pact, in an attempt to embezzle the story enough to throw her off the scent.
You’re saved from the pressure of a response when Steve comes in from the backroom.
“Ahoy there ladies!” He sings, hopping up onto the counter.
“Didn’t work on the ladies at Scoops Ahoy, not gonna work now dingus, especially as I’m a lesbian. So, please stop.” Robin begs.
“Are you a lesbian Robin? You should have said something.” He bites back sarcastically.
“I don’t know, it would have worked on me, I always thought you looked pretty cute in the outfit.” It was out of your mouth before you could stop it, and you were rewarded with Steve blushing profusely.
“Oh - uh - thanks.” He grins bashfully.
“Why is everyone so chipper?” Robin huffs, flouncing off.
__________________________________________________________
The day seemed to fly by until you got to 4pm, you started to zone out every 10 minutes trying to work out if you were excited or terrified. There was a part of you that wanted to call Eddie and cancel, and then there was the part of you that couldn’t wait to see him; the stupid little flutters erupting once more. You were logging returns with Steve, once again, when he nudged you.
“Hey, you in there?” He says with a smile.
“Yeah, sorry, must have zoned out.” You mumble embarrassed.
He regards you carefully for a moment.
“Something on your mind?”
Only about 100 million things, you think wryly.
“Nope, I’m all good, just only so many times you can read the word overdue before it starts to look like gibberish.” You laugh lightly
“Very true.” He chuckles. “But, I didn’t know if it had anything to do with your date tonight.” He presses, clearly testing the waters.
“Fucking Buckley.” You snap. “I’m going to murder her. How come she can keep a secret about another dimension but not about my date?!” Mentally correcting yourself on the word date.
“Hey, don’t blame Robin, she’s excited for you” He soothes. “So you settled on seeing the mystery guy again, only last week you didn’t seem so sure?”
“He’s been very persistent.” You say truthfully.
“Is it serious?” His asks quickly, voice oddly stilted.
“I - uh - it’s not really like - we’re not at that stage yet.” You stammer, a little thrown at Steve’s sudden interest in your love life.
“Just be careful honey. I’d hate to see you get hurt.” He says quietly.
“I think I'm more likely to hurt him.” You say honestly.
“How come?” Steve asks in surprise, placing a comforting hand on the small of your back, which short circuits your brain.
“It’s complicated.” You manage to force out.
“It shouldn’t be.” He says, the hand now rubbing in circles, you were actually going to pass out.
“You and Nancy have had complications though.” You point out, feeling a mixture of disappointment and relief when drops his hand.
“Yeah but me and Nance, we always find our way back to each other. I can be myself around her, you know? No bullshit, it’s easy.”
You don't know which throws you more, the fact you weren’t wanting to pitch yourself off the nearest bridge in despair as was your usual mindset when Steve talks about Nancy, or that the only face you could see as he talked was Eddie’s; although that might have something to do with the fact he was walking into the store with a shit-eating grin. You were hallucinating, surely.
“Munson.” Steve greeted him from behind you.
Ok, not a hallucination, commence panic attack.
“Harrington.” Eddie acknowledged with a nod, strolling past you towards the Sci-Fi section.
“Hey, you ok honey?” Steve put a hand on your arm, evidently the panic in your brain was showing on your face.
“What? Oh yeah just uh, thinking about what you said. I’m gonna put these back out.” You say quickly, grabbing a random handful of tapes with shaking hands.
“Ok, I’m gonna help Rob in the stockroom whilst it’s quiet.” You nod, barely hearing him, eyes trained on Eddie’s back. You wait until the stockroom door closes, effectively sprinting the length of the store, hitting him hard in the arm.
“What the fucking fuck are you doing here?” You hiss furiously.
“Ah, jeez! That’s not a very nice way to greet a customer.” He gripes, massaging his bicep.
“Don’t be fucking cute Eddie, what are you doing here?” You ask again, voice exceptionally high pitched.
“Renting a movie and getting assaulted apparently.” He says, still wincing. "You like Sci-Fi? Alien?"
You just stare at him, unsure if he's insulting you. He huffs, picking a tape off the shelf shaking it in front of you.
“Ridley Scott’s 1979 masterpiece, Alien. I thought we could watch it tonight. But, how have you not seen this already?" He asks incredulously.
"My dad only likes Westerns and war films." You shrug. "Is it scary? I'm not good with scary films."
Eddie smirks, leaning in so closely you can feel his body heat, your breath hitches.
"Don't worry sweetheart, I'll protect you." He glances at the stockroom door before pressing a chaste kiss to your surprised lips.
"What was that for?" You ask quietly.
"You're adorable when you're flustered." He grins, you feel warm from the tips of your toes to the top of your head, eyes darting about in a panic. "Yeah, like that." He adds softly, stealing another kiss, longer and firmer than the last, which has you clinging onto his jacket.
The tinkling bell of the door makes you jump apart with a gasp, some old lady coming in with young grandchildren, your heart hammering at your recklessness.
“Alien, will be fine.” You say quickly, heading back towards the counter to process the rental, just in time for Robin to emerge.
“Hey Buckley.” Eddie says casually, leaning on the counter, tapping out a rhythm with his ringed fingers.
“Hey Munson, recruited any new cult members lately?” She asks playfully.
“Not yet, but the night is still young.” He grins.
“Uh, $3 please.” You say awkwardly, watching the exchange.
“Oh and a bag of Red Vines, got a hot date tonight and she’s a big fan.” He smirks so wide it looks like it hurts, your eyes feel like they’re going to drop out of your head at his open audacity, scrambling clumsily for the money on the counter as Robin hands him the sweets.
“Always a pleasure ladies, see you at school.” He calls, leaving the store with a spring in his step, if you didn’t know any better you’d say he’s trying to send you into an early grave.
“Isn’t it time you got off babe?” Robin says, knocking you out of your reverie.
“What?” You ask skittishly, she points at the clock on the wall with a grin, 5pm, and under the grin there was another look on her face that you couldn’t quite decipher.
___________________________________________________________
You cycle to the Library as agreed, still pondering over Robin’s expression, Eddie sat on the bumper of the van waiting, trademark grin still firmly in place.
“Your face ever get tired from smirking all the time?” You ask, dismounting, he ignores you stowing your bike into the back.
“Cute basket, princess. You also get handlebar streamers with this model?” He snipes.
“Fuck off Munson.” You say but find yourself grinning too.
You clamber into the cab, already rooting about in your backpack, excitedly extracting your precious cassette tape.
“What is that?” Eddie asks warily, climbing in the driver’s side.
“A mixtape.” You smile
“And where, pray tell, are you planning on playing it?”
You point hopefully towards the car tape player.
“No, nope, absolutely not.” He says resolutely, shaking his head.
“Aw c’mon Eddie, please?” You plead, stringing out the please.
“There is no way I'm letting you play your shitty music in my van.”
You narrow your eyes, changing tack, leaning close, you softly suck a hickey into the side of his neck, your hand rubbing gently over his inner thigh.
“That’s really mean.” He whines, huffing out a breath.
“You can punish me later.” You purr.
“Oh I intend to sweetheart.” He growls, ducking his head to kiss you, with a harsh nip at your bottom lip. “Alright you can play one song, one, that’s it.”
You clap happily, Eddie reluctantly ejecting a Black Sabbath tape, and taking yours from you with the same look someone gives dogshit.
“Side A please.” You grin, dancing in your seat as the opening notes of Gypsy - Fleetwood Mac fill the van.
“Oh god it’s worse than I thought, Fleetwood Mac? Seriously?” He asks aghast, but you see his fingers drumming the rhythm as he pulls away.
“I love Fleetwood Mac, and this is my favourite song ever.” You sigh, singing along absentmindedly. “And it all comes down to you, well you know that it does, lightning strikes maybe once, maybe twice.”
“Not a bad set of pipes you got there sweetheart.” He says smiling at you fondly, making you trail off in embarrassment, switching to humming instead for the rest of the drive.
____________________________________________________________
True to his word and much to your disappointment, Eddie pressed the stop button before Dancing Queen could really get started.
“We definitely need to expand your musical horizons princess, I mean ABBA?” He says looking like he might throw up.
“That’s rich coming from you.” You snort, as he pulls into the trailer park, your nerves rising to the surface once more.
The trailer was much as you expected, which wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, there was something comforting about the way it was so lived in. Multiple shelves and hooks filled with collectable mugs and caps, the fridge littered with magnets and photos, the rundown mismatched furniture set on swirling threadbare 1960’s carpeting.
“It’s uh not much.” Eddie says nervously, moving to hide a few dirty dishes into the sink.
“I think it’s great.” You say honestly with a smile, giving some of the mugs a closer inspection.
“It’s my Uncle, he’s a bit of a fanatic.” He mutters, coming up beside you.
“My Gramps was the same, except he was into model trains and cars, he always let me play with them though.” You recall happily, putting the mug back on the rickety shelf.
“So, uh, bathroom is there, kitchen you can see, obviously.” Eddie rambles, pointing in various directions. “And uh my room is the one at the end.”
“Do you mind if I dump my bag and get changed?” You ask, feeling bunched up, still in your uncomfortable work uniform.
“Yeah sure, I'll order the pizza.” He says, shrugging his jacket off. “Any preference to toppings?”
“Nah, I'm easy.” You say, instantly regretting your phrasing as he winks at you, you roll your eyes and flip him the bird heading into the bedroom as he laughs behind you.
Much like the rest of the trailer, every available surface in Eddie’s room was occupied, various candy wrappers, empty beer cans, dirty mugs, clothing, drug paraphernalia, and nudie mags. A massive amp was slotted next to the bed, smaller speakers piled up in a corner. Band posters covered the walls, along with a huge homemade Corroded Coffin banner, next to it in pride of place suspended in a wall stand was Eddie’s electric guitar.
“She’s a beaut’ huh?” Eddie says proudly, making you jump.
“She’s a she?” You ask, watching in amusement as walks past you to place a two finger kiss to the body.
“Of course she’s a she.” He scoffs like it’s the most obvious thing in the world. “Uh - pizza will be about 20 minutes.”
“Ok.” You say standing awkwardly, change of clothes held in your hand.
“Sorry about the mess, I was going to clean but wasn’t sure whether you were actually going to come or not, and then I got into this whole thing about whether cleaning was a good idea because I know I'm not gonna keep up with it. So I thought maybe best if i just -”
“Uh - Ed’s I still need to get changed.” You cut him off.
“Shit yeah, sorry, I'll shut up and get the film set up. K, bye.” He says abruptly leaving the room and shutting the door behind him.
You had gone the comfortable but kinda cute route of soft grey pyjama shorts and an old oversized sky blue t-shirt, Eddie was crouched down by the VCR player hitting it intermittently when you came back into the room.
“C’mon on you piece of shit.” He hisses, a final smack and you could hear the tape whirr into life inside. “Hallelujah!”
“You know that’s really bad for the tape right?” You say, making him jump, he stands up taking in your appearance, his staring making you feel self conscious.
“Wow” He breathes.
“What?” You ask, suddenly worried your top has a massive hole in it.
“You look - Can I just -?” He moves quickly, pulling you to him, lips moving against yours, his hands in your hair. You wrap your arms around his waist, allowing him to deepen the kiss, heart slamming in your chest as he backs you up against the wall, one of the caps behind you falling unnoticed. “You’re so -” Eddie is cut off by a heavy knock on the door, you groan resting your head in the crook of his neck. “Fucking cockblocking pizza.” He laughs, pressing a kiss to your hair.
___________________________________________________________
“So just how scary is this film? You ask warily, legs tucked under you as you take a bite out of the double pepperoni and jalapeno pizza.
“It’s so-so.” Eddie replies evasively, settling back comfortably with his own slice.
“Eddie.” You say warningly, as the creepy music starts and the opening title card develops into the word ‘ALIEN.’
“Sweetheart, you’ll be fine there’s just a couple of jump-scares.” He reassures you, passing you a cracked open can of beer.
You’re about 30 minutes into the film when it starts to get scary, John Hurt’s character coming across hundreds of gross looking eggs. Eddie has his arm around you, your face half hidden in his chest, the pizza forgotten on the coffee table.
“Why would you go near it?” You whine, turning further into the soft fabric of his usual Hellfire Club t-shirt.
“Keep watching baby.” He encourages, a big smile on his sadistic little face, you cringe, eyes almost squeezed shut as the egg slowly opens in tense silence, a Facehugger suddenly flies out and you scream.
“No, Ed’s I don’t like it!” You cry, jumping out of your skin. “Can we watch something else, please?” You beg not caring about how pathetic you sound.
“You really not enjoying it?” He asks, gently tilting your face up to look at him, you shake your head.
“I told you I didn’t like scary movies.” You mumble petulantly, bottom lip jutting out in a pout.
“What if I distracted you during the scary parts?” He queries, thumb stroking along your jawline, well it didn’t take a genius to see where this was going, you nodded trying not to seem overly enthusiastic.
He leans down to kiss you, hand still cupping your jaw, his other arm cradling you about the waist.
“Your heart is still beating so fast princess.” He murmurs against your lips, feeling him smile. “You should probably lay down, wouldn’t want you to faint.”
“Smooth Munson.” You giggle but allow him to manoeuvre you into a lying position on the broken down couch, his hand snaking under your shirt to stroke at the soft skin of your stomach, feeling brave you run your hand down over his back, cupping his ass.
The film continues, completely ignored as you make out, the screams and shouts hardly registering; Eddie’s stuttering breaths and small groans filling your ears instead.
“Ed’s.” You say quietly after another 20 minutes, his attention now focused on your neck. “Did you - did you want to go to bed?” You stammer slightly.
“You tired?” He asks in a daze, lips all pink and kiss bitten, cheeks flushed. You shake your head slowly, biting your lip.
“Oh.” Is all he says before his face splits into a grin, hauling you up, and kissing you hard once more as he leads you to his room.
He switches on a side-lamp, illuminating the room in a soft orange glow, you stand nervously unsure what to do, the bed looking intimidatingly huge at that moment. Eddie notices the uncertainty in your expression, the boldness you felt in the living room fading fast, leaving you self conscious and overthinking once more.
“Hey. We don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do baby. We can go back to making out on the couch, believe me I won’t complain.” He says softly, giving you a small smile.
You’re trembling slightly as you resolutely pull your shirt over your head, before pushing your shorts down, leaving you in your bra and panties. You physically see Eddie’s pupils dilate, and try not to laugh at him as he frantically strips down to his boxers, the pair of you staring intently at each other for a moment. Trying to stay brave you step forward into his space, fingers tracing over the exposed tattoos on his chest, noticing how his muscles jump at your touch. He’s mapping out your skin too, hands starting at your hips, thumbs running upwards until he hits a 2 inch scar on your right side near your ribs, curving towards your back, a repeated swipe acting as a question.
“Took a spill on my roller-blades when I was 7, fell into a picket fence, 10 stitches.” You mumble looking down.
“Badass.” He says with a soft smile, ducking to place a tender kiss to the raised line.
You take his hand, walking backwards until your legs hit the foot of the bed, shifting yourself into the centre, removing your bra ignoring the rush of heat to your cheeks.
“You’re so beautiful.” Eddie breathes, staring at you, eyes blazing. “Do you know how much I've thought about having you in my bed like this?”
You can only shake your head, chest heaving with nerves and anticipation.
He kneels on the bed, crawling over to you, lips hovering over yours, brown eyes boring into your soul.
“Eddie.” You sigh so softly you barely hear it yourself, he captures your lips in a slow heated kiss, and you relish in the feeling of having him so close just two scraps of clothing keeping you from each other. It was brand new, compared to your previous rushed encounters, the notion that you could both take your time almost overwhelming. You take his hand in yours guiding him down to your covered mound, back arching as his fingertips make contact with your clit, every nerve ending already feeling shot.
“So wet sweetheart.” He murmurs, his tongue licking into your mouth as he gently circles your bud. You reach down to stroke at his cock, the room feeling overheated, your kissing and soft movements the only sound in the trailer.
“Ed’s, need you.” You whisper, unable to wait any longer.
“You have me baby.” He says gruffly, sliding your panties down your legs, and then discarding his boxers.
You blow out a shaky breath, completely exposed and wanting as he rolls on a condom, thighs quivering as you let them fall open, Eddie slotting himself back in between.
He pushes in slowly, allowing you to feel him inch by inch, chest to chest, foreheads pressed together, fingers laced, lips moving as one. Eddie was more rocking than thrusting, neither of you wanting to lose contact with the other.
“Perfect, you’re so perfect sweetheart.” He sighs, hitching your legs up to wrap around his waist, allowing him to go deeper than you thought possible.
“Eddie.” You whine, neck rolling as he hits a spot within you that has you seeing stars. “So good.”
“My sweet little thing, god your cunt feels like it was made for me.” He moans, bracing your hands above your head, holding them to the headboard with just one of his, the other now at your hip helping you to angle up.
You can’t do anything other than undulate below him, nipping at his neck and chest, the sound of your body slapping together making fresh wetness surge from your pussy, covering his cock in cream.
“Ed’s, I'm so close, please.” You whimper, searching for his lips, the coil in your belly unbearably tight.
“I’ve got you sweetheart, just take what you need.” He pants, thrusting in earnest, hand lifting from your hip to thumb at your clit, you unravel in a silent cry, tears wetting your cheeks from the intensity.
“Good girl, good girl.” Eddie chants, releasing your hands from his grip so you can hold onto his back, nails scratching down the skin. He grips the headboard this time, fucking you hard enough that the bed thumps dully against the wall.
“Eddie, fuck.” You cry as he pushes you through into a second orgasm, your walls clamping painfully hard around him.
“I’m gonna - fuck I'm gonna cum.” He swears, mashing his lips to yours, hips stilling, cock seated deep within your spasming cunt.
“I - fuck.” He huffs, effectively collapsing on top of you, head buried in your neck. You run your fingers up and down his spine, trying to get a handle on your erratic breathing. “I think I’m dead.” He groans.
“You don’t get out of the pact that easily, Munson.” You sigh, laughter rippling through you both, sending sparks where you’re still joined. Eddie holds himself off you, pressing a kiss to your nose.
“Stop trying to kill me then sweetheart.” He nuzzles you, and it makes your heart sputter and jolt.
“We should get cleaned up.” You say, nudging him gently.
Eddie extracts himself from you with slow kisses, and delicate touches, rolling to the edge of the bed you assume to dispose of the condom.
He lays back down, drawing you in close.
“5 minutes sweetheart, just 5 minutes.” He breathes softly, tracing nonsense patterns across your heated skin.
“5 minutes.” You agree, already feeling your eyelids start to close.

And because...
🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼
WOO!
129 for 🔼:
---
“I mean, couldn’t Eddie and I take a look at it first?” Buck asks. “I can change tires. Had to do snow tires back in Pennsylvania.”
She thinks of them both changing her tires, all sweaty and greasy, and…
God, she needs to get a grip. A cool glass of water and a fucking grip.
“Did you just volunteer my soon-to-be ex husband to fix my car for me?” Shannon smirks.
“And me!” Buck protests. “I’m also handy!”
“I don’t doubt that,” Shannon laughs. “That’s not the part that surprised me.”
“Oh? Eddie? Pfft.” Buck waves a dismissive hand. “He’ll do what I say.”
It’s that easy, is it? Getting Eddie to do whatever you want? Someone teach her the fucking trick.
“It’s all just bad timing,” Shannon switches the subject. “Car wise, I mean.”
“Is it ever good timing?” Buck asks.
“Well, no. But I had things I needed to do, you know?” She sighs.
“Anything I can help with?” Buck asks.
“What? No,” Shannon laughs nervously. She is not asking him to drive her around to pick up prenatal vitamins and probiotics and all the really fun pregnancy stuff she’s running low on.
“Seriously!” Buck insists. “I have nothing to do after physio.”
“I’m sure you do,” Shannon replies.
“I really don’t,” Buck says. “My days are filled with exercises, reality television, and cooking more food than I have people to feed, just to pass the time.”
Something about that is very sad, she thinks. He isn’t the sort of person who shouldn’t have enough people around to fill his home. He isn’t meant to be lonely. She might not know him well, but she knows that.
“Okay,” she relents. “If you are okay driving me to the pharmacy, the dry cleaners, and a maternity clothing store, I would be very grateful.”
“No problem,” he smiles. She swears there’s a fucking twinkle in his eye.
Shannon is well and truly fucked.
🔼
Weirdly, Buck enjoys doing errands with Shannon. She’s fun and chatty and witty like usual. But more than that, it just sort of takes his mind off things.
His leg is fucking killing him, and he knows he’s been doing the exercises like twice if not three times as much as usual. He wishes he wasn’t in so much pain. He wishes he was further along in his progress. Even though, by all accounts, he’s ahead of where he’s expected to be. He’s just been feeling time so acutely lately. Almost three months since he left. What if three more pass and he’s not back? What if they have to find a permanent replacement?
His brain has been noisy for days. Louder and louder. He can’t really quiet it. And yet, for some reason, hanging out with Shannon does the trick. He feels helpful again, for one thing. Like he’s not just wasting his day away alone. For another, the conversation just keeps flowing so naturally between them that he doesn’t have time to think about anything else.
They talk about a lot of things. How annoying physio is. Favorite movies of the past decades. Their favorite music. The differences between growing up in Texas versus Pennsylvania. Unlike Eddie, Shannon didn’t just live in El Paso.
“I was born in Santa Fe, actually,” she says as they’re driving from the drugstore to the dry cleaner’s. “Then my dad left when I was little, and my mom just sort of followed the work she could get. El Paso, Kemah, Dallas, you name it.”
“Wow,” Buck exhales. “I moved around a lot in my early twenties. Like as far as Peru. But it must be way harder doing it as a kid.”
“Yeah, but I always had my mom,” Shannon says. “She had a good way of making everywhere feel like home. An optimism, you know?”
“She sounds like she was a good mom,” Buck replies.
Shannon nods. “She wasn’t perfect, but… Yeah. I mean, I always knew she loved me. And she did her best. She was a really good mom.”
Buck thinks there’s some sort of tragedy in that. His own perfectly healthy mother has no interest in him. Her perfectly good mother is dead.
“I’m sorry, Shannon,” he tells her.
She smiles a little sadly and shakes her head. “Thanks, it’s… It is what it is.”
Buck nods.
“I’m sad she won’t get to meet my daughter,” Shannon admits. “I’ll have to find a way to honor her in the name somehow.”
Buck smiles. He hasn’t heard anything about Little Diaz’s name yet.
“You’re going to name her after your mom? I love that!”
“Oh,” Shannon replies a little nervously. “I don’t know. I haven’t even talked to Eddie about it yet. Plus, her name was Janet. I don’t know if I want to name a 2019 baby Janet.”
Buck chuckles. “Fair. It’s a tiny bit dated. Middle name?”
“Maybe,” she says. “I’ll just have to get creative, I think.”
When they get to the maternity clothing store, she insists Buck stays in the car.
“I need to size up my bras,” she admits. “You do not need to be there for that.”
“Understood,” he says, nodding curtly.
But it’s too hot to sit in the car, so Buck walks to a coffee shop down the street to grab an iced beverage while he waits. As he does he thinks. He thinks about what Shannon said in the car about wanting to honor her mother, but not knowing how. He agrees Janet is an outdated name and he doesn’t think Eddie would ever go for it. But there’s got to be something she can do.
So, Buck gets ahead of himself. A usual problem of his.
He doesn’t know why he’s like this exactly. But he is. He likes being of service

A Favor pt. 2
part 1
A few days later after that night, it was all back to normal in my head. Wake up, teach, stay up late, sleep and repeat. First I felt really bad for that boy getting in trouble, and also anxious that he’ll show up at my door and punch me for being a snitch.
I look at the hour on my watch and decide it’s time to leave work today. I stack all the graded homework together and the rest in another pile for tomorrow, I put them in the drawer and start to clean up my desk.
As I close the classroom door, I hear footsteps approach me; I turn to see Miss Young with a mop in her hand. “Oh miss Y/N, like always staying so late” she says, I see how her face wrinkles into a smile that also makes me smile. “If I grade now, I’ll have my weekend free, it’s worth it” I tell her and she nods, she wishes me a nice sleep and to take care, I wave her goodbye and to also take care.
I walk around the building to the back stairs to get to my apartment. I pass the small playground and stop at the convenience store that's across to buy dinner. I take a moment to think if I should walk to the front of my building or just use the back door that’s straight ahead. I roll my eyes at myself. Like if you would surround the building just to get to the front when the back door is just a few steps away…
Before I open the door and step in, I hear a noise that’s between a cry and a growl. I stay still to check if I’ll hear it again, and I do. I walk to the corner of the building to the small alley where we leave the garbage to see if the noise is P, the small cat that the building adopted a few months ago; but it’s not P.
I see a silhouette trying to stand up and slip to the floor. “Oh shoot” I panic and walk closer “Are you alright?” I ask waiting to know if they needed help. I see his face and instantly recognize it’s the blonde freckle boy from the pool place. But what were the odds to see each other, again. “Are you okay?” I ask again even though I see him struggle. “It’s okay” he replies. I back a little and notice how his left shoulder looks a little off, I focus more on it, and even though there’s almost no streetlight I can tell it’s not normal. “We should.” “No!” he interrupts me with a deep and firm voice. “I said it’s okay, just go” he tells me as he tries to pass me but falls to the floor. He cries out of pain and my heart hurts hearing him. I quickly kneel down, “I-I can’t leave you like this, let me take you to a hos.” Again he interrupts me in the same mad tone “I said no, Y/N” he repeats and I pick up an accent. “O-okay, but at least call someone, call Lee Know, or your other friend” I suggest and he nods, he tries getting up and almost loses his balance but I put my hands on his chest to keep him from falling on me. His head is lays on my shoulder and I call him out “Hey, hey, you there?” I slightly shake him, but he doesn’t verbally respond, only a small growl. “Oh gosh” I complain out loud.
Why me again. I will regret this, I will definitely regret this again… “Hey.” I wanted to call his name but I actually don’t know it? “Let’s get out of here yeah? Just help me out a little” I talk to him hopping he can hear me. We try to walk to the back door building to get us in, but when I mean we, I mean just me with this boy hanging on me on one side and my heavy handbag on the other.
A 3 minute trip to my floor and door turned into maybe a 20 minute walk “Lean on the wall for a sec” I suggest him, he keeps growling and crying from the pain as I look for my keys and open the door as fast as I can. Lucky for us my sofa was close by to the entrance. I didn’t attend to through him on the sofa but he kinda slips off my arms and falls making him cry louder “I, shit, sorry, sorry” I cover my mouth with both hands. He mumbles that it’s fine but I still feel guilty. “What’s your friend number?” I ask as I take my phone out my bag trying get ride of how bad I feel, he nods his head and turns to his right side “My phone” he says, I stand a little confused “In my, my pocket” he explains “Oh, yeah” I say obviously. I take out the mobile waiting for maybe a Samsung or an iPhone but I didn’t expect a 2004 type of phone, I frown and look at him like if he was a mad man. I want to ask what’s up with this but he talks first “Press one” he orders, I am still confused “Speed dial one” he orders again as if it was obvious what he meant, I shake my head to myself. This is not normal, this is mad. Crazy mad. I dial and wait on the tone. “Where are you, mate?” is the first thing that comes from the other side. That accent. It’s him. “Uh, I, em, your friend, he’s not okay and.” I try to explain but he interrupts me “Who the hell is this?” he questions and my heart beat speeds up “Y/N” I gulp down my saliva “Y/N” he doesn’t say it in a question, it sounded more like if he was repeating it to himself. I hear his voice in my head echoing my name in his accent. British? Australian? I try to think a little more… “Where is he?” his question pops me out of my thinking bubble “Uh, he’s with me, my apartment, I, he is bad injured, I think he’ll faint in any minute, I live, em, on Berrywood Parkway, it’s um, behind the.” I am half way in the explanation but he once again interrupts me “I know, I´ll be there shortly, keep him awake” he demands before he hangs up on me, I look at the phone no believing how rude he was right now. I inhale and look at the boy on my sofa have unconscious, I stand there looking at his face, he has a few cuts and a big bruise on his left cheek, I walk to my bathroom and get my first aid kit, I kneel close to him “I’m going to clean you up okay?” I ask softly and nods slowly.
While I clean his injuries I couldn’t stop feeling worried for him, he wasn’t older than me, and he also looks so small in some way. “Felix” he whispers, I am cleaning up his open lip and when I hear him I accidentally press on it too much, he wimps and I apologize "You said Felix?" I repeat “My name, it’s Felix” he repeats and then I notice he also has an accent, just like his friend… “I’m Y/N” I say and he chuckles “I remember you Y/N, bad ass the other day honestly” he lets out a small laugh and I smile, but soon he growls in pain again and touches his left shoulder “It’s dislocated, isn’t it?” I ask and he nods “W-what happen? Did someone try to assault you?” I ask worried for him but he shakes his head “Just don’t” he suggests me. I want to say something more, but a knock on the door and my name in the unknown accent stops me. Oh shit.

Lavender Wishes | Robin Buckley x reader
summary: your first sleep over with your girlfriend, robin <3
content: fluff, mentions of eating, swearing, brief mention of the upside down, no pronouns directed towards reader, no use of y/n, pet names
word count: [1.5k]
“Oh, I want m&ms too! And don’t forget the popcorn!
“It’s gonna be hard to forget anything, robs, since you want the whole store” you joke as she rambles over the phone about all the snacks she wants.
“Not the whole store. Maybe half”
“Alright, but you’re gonna owe me a lot of kisses tonight” you bargain, knowing she’s already planning on doing that.
“Yeah, I can do that. Now hurry up and get to the store so I can hold up my end of the deal soon”
You say your goodbyes and hang up the phone and quickly head to the store. Tonight was the first night you’re staying with Robin since you started dating. The relationship was fairly new, but it’s felt like you’ve been together for years. Everything felt so natural with her and you weren’t even nervous about tonight.
Okay… the nervous part was kind of a lie. Of course Robin makes you feel comfortable, but anyone would feel at least a little bit nervous about staying the night with their partner for the first time.
-
After a trip to the supermarket and way too many snacks for one night, you finally arrive at Robin’s house.
You take a minute and give yourself a pep talk before walking up and knocking on her door.
“Oh my god, it’s about time! I almost died of boredom” Robin throws her arms around you and you try to hug her back as best as you can with your hands full.
She grabs some of the bags and drags you into the house, leading you into the kitchen to put all the snacks on the counter.
“I’ve been here for three whole minutes and still haven’t gotten a kiss. What are you gonna do about that, Buckley”
She smirks at you and cradles your face in her hands before leaning into you. You can’t help the smile that forms on your face and the giggle that escapes you as she kisses your lips.
“I’ve been waiting on that all day and now you’re laughing at me?” she says with the biggest smile on her face "Don't make me revoke your all access pass to these” she points to her lips and makes you laugh even harder. She’s 110% joking and you know that because she always claims that she’d probably die if she never got to kiss you again.
“Lemme make it up to you”
Five, ten, fifteen minutes pass as you kiss her in the kitchen, barely coming up for air unless it’s absolutely necessary.
“Wow. Now I know what that song by Berlin was talking about” She says when she pulls away from you and you look at her, puzzled.
“That one song from Top Gun. Take my breath away” She clarifies and you chuckle.
“You’re so cheesy. Also, remind Harrington he’s not allowed to pick that movie again next time for movie night”
“But that would break his heart… so yeah I’ll do it and speaking of movies, I got about a thousand of them so go pick one out and I’ll make the popcorn.” she gives you a peck and you head to the living room.
Robin really wasn’t kidding about her getting a thousand movies because there’s a stack of them about a mile high on the coffee table. You decide to go with a horror, knowing she’ll have to cuddle up to you for protection.
Your girlfriend has fought against monsters from a weird, alternate dimension, but she draws the line at a guy with chainsaw.
“What are we watchin’ first?” She asks with a big bowl of popcorn and your favorite candy in her hands.
“Texas chainsaw!” you answer, excitedly and she groans. “I knew you’d do this to me. Next time I’m only getting movies that I like and don’t give me nightmares”
“Didn’t you fight evil Russians and that mind slayer thing?”
“Mind flayer and I’d take either of those things over some weirdo who harvests peoples skin”
“Pleeeeaasse, baby, for me?” you give her your best pout and puppy dog eyes and she gives in within two seconds. “Fine, but don’t expect that to work every time” she points her finger at you. “you know you can never say no to me” she doesn’t deny it.
_
It’s not even ten minutes into the movie before Robin is laying on top of you with her face hidden in your neck. Your hand rests on top of her head and you play with her hair to comfort her.
“Do you want me to change the movie, robs?”
“No, ‘cause then you’d have to get up” she whines and you huff out a laugh. “I have to get up anyway because I have to pee”
She looks up at you and furrows her brow. “And leave me alone? I told you not to drink your soda that fast!”
“You’ll be fine. I’ll pause the movie and the door is locked.”
“A locked door isn’t going to stop a chainsaw! They are literally made to chop wood and take a wild guess what my front door is made of!”
God, you love her so much. You know it’s crazy to even think that this early into the relationship, but you were friends long before you started dating. Plus, it’s Robin. You’d be crazy not to be in love with her.
When she finally gets up to let you move, she dramatically throws herself back on the couch with a loud huff. You lovingly roll your eyes and pause the movie before going to the bathroom.
“When you’re done can you bring me some more candy?” she yells and you already know she’s going to be like a toddler on a sugar high.
You come back to the living room with m&ms in hand and Robin is pretending to be dead on the couch. “Oh no, she’s dead! Guess I have to eat these m&m’s all by myself”
She opens one eye to look at you “False alarm, I guess. Don’t worry I’ll help you eat those”
You toss the m&ms at her and go to change the movie. “Actually, I’m kinda tired. Wanna go to bed?’’ she suggests. “Robin, it’s 9 p.m.” you deadpan.
“Okay, bedtime police. I wanna change into pjs and cuddle in my bed”
“Fine, but only if you bring the candy with you”
She jumps up, grabs the candy and practically sprints towards her bedroom. You grab your bag and get ready for bed in the bathroom.
When you enter Robin’s room, she’s changed into only a sports bra and sweats. Your gaze can’t help but linger.
“Wow, perv! You’re just as bad as Steve” she jokes and you get into bed to snuggle up to her.
“I can’t help it. They’re hypnotizing” you say, referring to her boobs and she snorts.
“So, I was, um, thinking about how it’s only friday and we both have the weekend off, so maybe you could stay tomorrow night too? Of course, you don’t have to or anything I just thought that it might be-”
“I’d love to stay all weekend and conveniently enough, I brought plenty of clothes for the whole weekend” you say before she finishes her sentence.
“I knew you would. just can’t get enough of me”
you start to drift asleep as she rubs your back, but all of the sudden she gets a burst of energy.
“babe, i had too much sugar. Let’s do something fun!”
“I had a feeling this would happen. Alright, what do ya wanna do?”
“Let me paint your nails! I promise I won’t mess it up this time ”
Every time you’ve let Robin paint your nails, she’s made an absolute mess. There was one time she spilled a bottle on the carpet because she was flailing her arms around while telling a story.
“Okay, I’m in. show me what ya got”
Robin displays ten different nail polish colors and goes into detail about what she likes about each one. it’s the cutest thing you’ve ever seen.
“And this one I think would really make your eyes pop. you always look so good in this color”
“What’s the name of the color?”
“Lavender wishes. Cute, right?”
“Adorable” you hold your hand out to her and she starts her masterpiece. Her concentrated face is so fucking cute you can’t help smiling. Usually, Robin is such a chatterbox, but she’s too focused on doing this perfectly that she hasn’t said a word.
“All done. Do you like it?” she asks when she finishes
“I love it. Thank you, baby”
Robin gently blows on your fingertips until they are dry. When she’s done, she kisses both of your hands and helps you up off of the floor.
“That was some tedious work. Wanna go to sleep?” she asks and you nod. You wrap your arms around each other and tangle yourselves together under the blanket.
Both of you end up staying awake until the hours of the night when it feels like the rest of the world is asleep. You talk about anything, nothing, and everything in between.
It’s the best Friday night you’ve ever had.

Celebrating the Archeologist
Pairing: Nami x Robin
Tags: Birthday Sex, Vaginal Fingering, Anal Fingering, Presents, Books, Wine
Summary:
It's Robin's birthday, and as her girlfriend, Nami feels the pressure to make it one she'll never forget. While the crew puts together something a little special for her, the navigator truly goes all out to show she cares about the archeologists past as much as their future together.
Read on Ao3
To Robin, today was a day like any other. She got up, prepared her tea, and went to the library. She sat quietly on the couch reading the book she always read every year on this day. It was a short story about a girl who traveled to find the best way to celebrate her birthday.
She’d discovered the tome when she was only nine years old, on the run from a government that wanted to ensure she’d never have another birthday to celebrate. This was the one tradition she was able to keep to mark another year of her life come and gone. It used to be a remarkably lonely occasion, but this had changed since she met the Straw Hat crew.
Robin was lost in thought staring at the last page of the story when Chopper appeared at the door.
“Um, Robin? Sorry to bother you, but Sanji is saying lunch is ready and we can’t eat until we are all together.”
She smiled sweetly at the little reindeer. “I’ll be right there. Thank you, Chopper.” Tucking the book back into its place on the shelf, she headed up to meet the others.
As she approached the dining hall, she noted it was quieter than usual. There wasn’t any yelling at Luffy to wait before everyone sat down or Franky shouting “SUPER!” for no apparent reason. When she entered, the crew was waiting for her with all her favorite foods.
“Happy Birthday, Robin!” They all yelled in unison.
“Oh my! For me?” Robin asked, surprised.
“Come on, Robin! Let’s hurry up and eat!” Luffy exclaimed.
“Luffy! What did I tell you earlier? You will wait for the beautiful Miss Robin-chan! Don’t rush her,” Sanji snapped at him while kicking his hand away from trying to steal a sandwich.
Robin laughed as she took her seat at the table. She looked around the room, happily taking in everyone celebrating her. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Nami whispering to Sanji before the two disappeared into the pantry. Before she could use her abilities to pry further, Chopper caught her attention.
“Robin, would you like to go shopping with me after this?”
“Of course! I can’t think of a better way to spend my birthday,” she responded as Nami made her way back to the table. “Nami, why don’t you come with us?”
“Uh…I’d love to, but I kinda have something to work on for the map, so maybe next time!” Nami replied while avoiding making eye contact.
After lunch, Sanji brought out a cake covered in fresh fruit they had picked up at the last island and the crew sang to her. Robin made her wish and blew out the candles as the crew cheered. Once the dessert was done, Nami got up, kissed Robin on the cheek, and quietly went back to their room.
As Robin and Chopper prepared to leave, Nami approached her. Slipping some beri into her palm, she whispered, “Buy yourself a nice dress for tonight.”
With a sly smile and nod of agreement, Robin and Chopper left the ship to go ashore. As soon as they were out of sight, Nami gathered Franky, Zoro, and Usopp to help set up the surprise she had in store.
The two returned to the Sunny with numerous shopping bags hanging from their arms. Robin made her way to the women’s quarters, and Nami jolted from her spot on the bed when she entered.
“Robin! I, uh, didn’t hear you guys come back.”
She chuckled at how endearingly obvious Nami was being. “I picked out a dress like you asked me to.”
“Great! Wear it tonight. I have a surprise. Let’s meet on the deck at, say, six?”
The two exchanged a quick kiss and Nami left to head to the library to finish her preparations.
——————————————-
The cold sea air stung Robin’s face as she stood waiting for Nami. Her bejeweled violet dress sparkled in the light of the setting sun, striking Nami speechless as she reached the top of the stairs.
“You’re late, you know,” Robin teased without looking at her.
“For your information, I was putting on some finishing touches,” Nami explained as Robin turned to face her. The navigator’s short scarlet dress and matching heels set her blood aflame, her crimson lipstick begging to be smeared.
Robin approached her, her lips grazing her cheek as she grabbed her hand. “You look stunning, dear.”
Nami’s face now matched her outfit. “M-me? Look who’s talking,” she stammered. “Follow me,” she said as she led her girlfriend to the library.
When they reached the entrance, Nami instructed her to close her eyes. Robin smiled as she did as she was told and allowed her to lead her where she wanted her. The navigator let go of her hand and Robin heard the door close behind her. She grabbed her shoulders from behind and whispered, “Okay…you can open them.”
The archeologist couldn’t believe the sight that greeted her. The library had been completely transformed. White curtains covered the shelves, complete with twinkling fairy lights that dangled from the ceiling. A table and chairs sat in the middle of the room.
“Happy birthday, baby,” Nami whispered as she wrapped her arms around her from behind and hugged her.
Robin felt a knot form at the back of her throat. “Nami…it’s wonderful. No one’s ever done anything like this for me.”
The navigator kissed her shoulder tenderly. “I’m glad you like it and that I was able to keep it a secret. You’re not easy to surprise.”
Sanji came bounding in with a special dinner made for just the two of them. “Your dinner, mademoiselles,” he said with a bow before leaving. As he shut the door, the sound of him telling everyone to leave the two alone, especially Luffy, echoed down the hallway. The two laughed at the crew’s antics as they talked and ate.
The cook returned with a bottle of wine and handed it to Nami before taking his leave once again. “So…this is present number one. It took me a while to find it, but thankfully I had some downtime during my two years of training to do some research.” She twirled it around to show off the label. It was a vintage Lavender Earl Grey concoction produced in O’Hara, bottled during the year of her birth.
“Nami…how did you…how did you find this?” Robin asked, shocked.
“Well, it wasn’t easy. But it’s not the only bottle. I bought the entire remaining crate of them,” Nami said as she poured them both a glass. After they had downed a few, the navigator grabbed two more presents from under the table.
The archaeologist cocked an eyebrow in surprise. “There’s more?”
“Of course there is!” Nami laughed. “Here, open this one first.”
Robin set her wine down and carefully opened the package. She was the only person Nami knew who would be this gentle when opening a wrapped gift and not just tear into it. Three history books containing information on the poneglyphs soon came into view. Inside, each was stamped Property of the Library of O’Hara. Robin looked up at her with concern.
“Before you get worried, the person who sold me these didn’t even know what they were for or that they were important. He couldn’t get rid of them so he sold them to me for five beri,” she explained with a shrug.
Content with Nami’s response, she slid her fingers down the spine of the book, the singed edges bringing back a flood of memories. Both she and these tomes bore scars of that day but still managed to find a place to call home.
She then grabbed the last package Nami placed beside her. In the bag was a journal, along with two books that looked handmade. The archeologist took the journal out first. Written inside was the story of Robin’s past - Nami had painstakingly noted it down to the last detail.
“There are empty pages at the end for you to continue writing your story. I know you read that one book about the girl in search of the best birthday, and I was hoping maybe one day your own story can inspire someone in the same way.”
Robin could feel tears welling up, but she fought against them. She then opened the first handmade book. Each page included a letter written by one of the crew members that detailed all the reasons Robin was special to them and how she’d changed their lives since meeting her.
“Sorry about Sanji’s…I tried to tell him to tone it down a bit,” Nami rolled her eyes and Robin laughed as a tear escaped.
She grabbed the last handmade book and opened it. “This one is all about us. I’ve written all the reasons I love you and all the small things you do that make me fall in love with you more and more every day.” The navigator reached for her hand and kissed the back of it as she scanned the book. Robin lost her battle against the emotions she was trying to hold back.
“N-Nami…thank you. This is all so lovely. To know how loved I am by the crew and you is truly priceless. These mean so much to me.”
Nami rose and kissed the top of her head. “I’m so happy to hear it, love. Happy birthday.” Robin turned, her lips searching for and then crashing against Nami’s.
They pulled apart and Nami wiped Robin’s tears away. “Let’s go back to our room.” Robin nodded and gathered her gifts before leaving the library.
————————-
Rose petals were scattered on the ground leading to the bed, their sweet aroma filling the room. “Nami, you’re spoiling me,” Robin joked.
“There’s no such thing. It’s your special day,” she said as she locked the door behind them. Robin set her gifts down on a side table before Nami grabbed her by the waist, spun her around, and kissed her once again. Their tongues clashed as her hands moved up and down the back of her dress, finally grasping onto the zipper.
She pulled it down slowly, freeing Robin’s arms from her sleeves. Nami kissed and sucked on the now bare skin. As she slid the fabric down Robin’s toned body, her lips sought every inch of her that was hidden no longer. The velvety dress slid to the floor to reveal the archeologist had nothing on underneath.
“Well, well…seems like you were expecting to have a little fun tonight,” the navigator said as she licked her lips taking in the sight of her.
“It is my birthday after all. Shouldn’t I end it with a bang?” Robin teased with a wink.
Nami growled in response as she quickly made her way out of her own dress. Her girlfriend came to her aid with plenty of extra hands, assisting her as she lay spread out on the bed watching. The navigator crawled on top of her, their lips coming together once more. Placing both hands on her hips, she moved her thumbs in gentle circles on the delicate spots Nami knew well. Her mouth moved down Robin’s neck, licking and sucking relentlessly to ensure she’d leave red marks on her pale skin.
The archeologist moaned as Nami grabbed her wrists and pinned them under one hand. With the other, she reached down to graze her clit with barely-there touches.
“Nami…don’t be such a tease,” Robin whined. The navigator laughed in response as she pressed her thumb on the bud and moved it in a clockwise rotation.
“Oh, I was under the impression you wanted to take this slow. If all you want is to come, I can make that happen.”
“Ahhhhhh yes!” Robin groaned as she threw her head back into the pillow.
Nami prodded at her soaked entrance easily sliding her finger in and out of her.
“You’re quite wet already…so needy,” Nami teased before sliding a second finger in.
“It was that…damn dress and…the alcohol,” she panted back at her.
Nami moved her fingers in a scissor formation while she thrust just deep enough. Robin began to tremble as the woman masterfully worked her clit in time with each lunge.
She was a sight to behold – face smeared with lipstick, breath ragged, back arching off the bed as she came while crying out Nami’s name. The navigator rolled to her side, quietly stroking her girlfriend’s now tangled mane of hair.
“You said you wanted it quick,” she whispered tauntingly.
“You’re just that good,” Robin responded. “Thank you, Nami. Everything was just perfect. I’m so lucky to have someone as special as you care about celebrating who I am.”
“I can think of no one more deserving,” she said as she took her hand in hers and tenderly kissed her knuckles.
“However…”
Nami knit her brows in worry. “Wait…did I do something wrong?”
Robin chuckled. “Oh no, just the opposite, dear. I still want one more gift, if you’ll humor me.”
“Ok, now you’re just being greedy.”
“It won’t cost you any beri, I promise,” she assured as she moved her face closer to hers.
“Well, then…ask away,” the navigator taunted. Before she could speak further, she felt a myriad of hands holding down her arms and legs. A pair covered her eyes as a makeshift blindfold, putting her senses on high alert. “Wait, is this a present for you, or me?” she inquired cheekily.
Robin stroked her thumb against Nami’s bottom lip. “I suppose we’ll have to find out, hmm? Now, the real question is what should I do with my actual hands? I wonder if you’d be able to tell the difference.”
Two more sprouted and started to fondle the navigator’s breasts. Nami let out a content sigh, thoroughly enjoying being treated to this after doing so much work to ensure everything was perfect for the day. She felt a strong grip separate her legs, the sticky residue of her arousal glistening on the inside of her thighs.
“It doesn’t take much for you, does it?” Robin quipped, one of her real fingers swiping across her slit.
“Ah! Have you seen yourself? I was wet the moment I saw you standing on the deck.”
“Aw, so sweet of you to say so,” she said as she dipped a finger inside of her. Nami moaned at the intrusion, her senses on high alert having her entire body worked over by Robin’s hands. “I must say, I used to hate this power of mine, but now that I can hear how much you enjoy it, I don’t know what I’d do without it.”
“Robin…more…”
“And you said I was the greedy one.” Another finger rubbed her clit, eliciting an even louder cry. “I’m running out of more to give you, love. Ah, wait! I almost forgot,” she said before sticking a finger in her ass. “There we are. Is that enough for you?”
“Fuck…Robin…yes…going to…” Nami ground out before screaming her name.
In a whirlwind of flower petals, all returned to as it was.
“Jeez, you’d think it was my birthday, not yours,” the navigator huffed.
The archeologist giggled. “There could be no greater gift than seeing you satisfied. Thank you, Nami. I’m no longer like that little girl in my book looking for the best way to celebrate my birthday – I’ve already found it.”
