Importance of Pharmaceutical Waste Disposal in Tampa and Daytona Beach, FL
Proper collection and pharmaceutical waste disposal in Tampa and Daytona Beach, FL, is not an option. Every healthcare facility, pharmacy, and research laboratory needs to abide by the state's regulations and bodies like the EPA. One may also take a look at the OSHA recommendations to understand how poor handling of pharmaceuticals can affect the health and well-being of people in direct line of such substances and have an increased risk of exposure.
The staff working in such facilities may not be privy to important information related to pharmaceutical products. Pharmaceutical waste usually includes expired medications, unused prescription drugs, and contaminated products. Proper waste management, keeping with the standards, is crucial. Any violation, when detected, may result in severe penalties, with the added risk of the facility losing its license for a specified period.
Another aspect to remember is that different pharmaceutical types must be handled differently. One cannot treat all pharmaceutical wastes identically and jeopardize the health of visitors, patients, and staff at the facility, pharmacy, or lab. Identifying different types of waste and managing each type individually as needed can go a long way in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
It is essential to identify and segregate the following types of pharmaceutical waste by using the assistance of a certified waste management company that specializes in the handling, transportation, and disposal of pharmaceutical waste materials: -
· Hazardous Waste
· Non-hazardous Waste
· Controlled Substances
· Cytotoxic Waste
· Pharmaceutical Trace Chemotherapy Waste
Compliance with the standards is necessary for all facilities and stores using or handling such chemical products. It is certainly helpful to be informed about the requirements. There are several state and Federal regulations to note before going ahead and beginning to dispose of such waste. It is further necessary to remember that maintaining compliance with such regulation is not merely a legal obligation but also an ethical or moral obligation of each individual and entity. The laws were formulated to safeguard both public health and the environment. Non-compliance can put one in trouble as strict waste management and disposal laws must be followed perfectly. The following Federal organizations have guidelines in place that must be adhered to without any exceptions: -
· Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA)- Deals with proper disposal of solid and hazardous waste.
· Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Regulations- Includes specific guidelines for handling and disposing of controlled substances.
· Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Standards- This concerns safe handling and workplace safety practices.
· U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Guidelines- Relates to environmental impact assessments and waste management protocols.
One may also review the recommendations and regulations issued as advisory by the Florida Departments of Health and Environmental Protection.
The concerned facilities, as well as institutions such as schools and care centers, are advised to use the services of a company that excels in providing flawless sharps disposal in Tampa and Daytona Beach, FL.

THE SPIDER & THE BUTTERFLY | Improved Cocktail, Old-Fashioned, Sazerac-Style, Sidecars
“I didn’t create these drinks to be wasted like that.”
The third in my series of Improved Cocktail/Old Fashioned inspired TRIGUN cocktails, following the Life and Love and the NOMAN’S Eucharist
First, fill serving glass with ice* and add about .25-.33 fl oz of absinthe to glass. Then, in a mixing glass with ice, stir together
2 fl oz or 60ml Mezcal, preferably a Joven(unaged) one
.25 fl oz or 8ml Apple Schnapps or Liqueur (NOT Sour Apple Pucker)
1-2 barspoons of dark agave nectar
1 dash Angostura bitters
1/2 dropperful/1-2 dashes floral bitters of choice. I used the Burlesque bitters and Old Forester’s Hummingbird bitters but I think the apple blossom bitters from Hella would work great if I could uh find my bottle of it
1/2 dropperful of Bittermen’s Winter Melon Tart Bitters. You could also use a dash of vinegar, a citrate, or even a pinch of citric acid -- a very small pinch!
Meanwhile, the asbinthe rinsing your presentation glass will have begun to louche and turn cloudy from the ice melting. Anyway, you’re going to take a strainer that fits your glass rim, and strain that louched absinthe into a sidecar, like a shotglass or a glass used for drinking baijiu or vodka. Then dump out the ice and strain the cocktail into your serving glass. I’d go with a smaller glass than a double old fashioned/rocks glass if you have one. Express a lemon twist or garnish with a herb like basil, mint or sage. To consume, alternate between sipping the cocktail and the absinthe. I believe it’s Simon Difford who serves his Sazeracs with a sidecar of the absinthe used to rinse the glass.
This is a powerful drink to sip slowly, with patience. I’ve stayed mostly in a Southwestern motif for ingredients but Knives being Knives, what common people are limited to isn’t a limit here, and both the sharp, aggressive, occasionally gasoline-like qualities of many young mezcals suits his personality. The absinthe also speaks to his obsession -- and madness -- as well as the common depiction of absinthe as a “green fairy” with butterfly like wings, while the appearance of the agave plant and its many spines calls to mind the legs of a spider. The variety of plants and flavors involved in the combination of bitters make it remarkably balanced -- the Burlesque Bitters feature hibiscus, acai, and long pepper -- a distinct reddish motif -- and realizing I use them in this and Wolfwood’s drink, I think they’re somewhat representative of Vash.
And, the modifying liqueur here, well... read Trigun Maximum if you haven’t.
*Fun fact, before the invention of big freezer units we could store glassware in for service, this is how a bartender in a saloon in the 19th century would prepare a glass to provide a cold cocktail.

The market for clothing with custom printing is still expanding, with applications ranging from fashion statements and promotional items to personalized presents and team uniforms. In this piece, we explore the wide range of custom t-shirt printing services, their advantages for both individuals and organizations and their numerous alternatives.
The Evolution of Custom T-Shirt Printing Services
Since its establishment, custom t-shirt printing businesses have advanced significantly. What used to involve labor-intensive physical labor and few design alternatives has been simplified into a procedure that gives unmatched freedom and creativity. The business has transformed thanks to technological improvements, which have made T-Shirts custom made in West Palm Beach simpler than ever to design personalized t-shirts that perfectly express the wearer’s personality or the identity of the brand.
A Multitude of Printing Techniques
The variety of printing methods offered by custom t-shirt printing services is one of their main advantages. Every method has distinct benefits about price, quality, and adaptability.
One of the earliest and most widely used techniques for producing personalized t-shirts is screen printing. For every color in the design, a stencil (or screen) must be made. Ink is then applied to the garment through the screens using a squeegee. For large orders and artwork with clear details and brilliant colors, screen printing works best.
Direct-to-Garment (DTG) Printing: This digital printing technique imprints designs directly onto the shirt’s fabric by utilizing specialist inkjet technology. Because it allows for a great degree of flexibility and detail, this method is ideal for small orders and elaborate designs.
Heat Transfer Printing: In this method, the design is printed on a specific transfer paper, and then pressure and heat are used to transfer the design to the shirt. Small orders and designs with a lot of colors, gradients, or photographic components work well with this technique.
Sublimation Printing: Sublimation printing transfers dye into fabric by applying pressure and heat, resulting in vivid and durable prints. This technique creates graphics that are resilient to fading and works best on polyester clothing.

How To Ensure Biowaste Waste Removal in Palm Harbor and Clearwater, FL?
Disposing of the sharp implements properly is imperative. Discarding the needles, scalpels, and broken syringes in the trash can is also a strict no-no. The best way to be rid of them is to comply with the FDA and OSHA standards. Clinics, dental practices, laboratories, and vet care centers use the sharp equipment regularly for treatment and research. Not conforming to the regulations can result in heavy penalties and revocation of the license. Every facility thus needs to be informed about the accepted procedures of sharps disposal in Trinity and Tampa, FL. It is vital to source the right colored container when discarding the sharps. Another thing to keep in mind is the quantity of storage. Filling the container to the brim would be foolhardy and risk injury. Such injuries may become fatal as it facilitates the transfer of blood-borne pathogens to the living body. Disposal of the containers is easy enough. One can contact a service provider that is well-informed about the local and state regulations related to proper disposal. Such providers often have their vehicles to comply with the standards. Contacting them for weekly disposal of filled containers can enable a facility to ensure safety for all concerned.
What are Sharps? Sharp implements that can pierce, puncture, or cut through human flesh are known as sharps. All sharp instruments and tools used on the patients for diagnosis and treatment are regarded as sharps. Some of the most common sharps that must be disposed of according to the state and/or community standards and comply with the FDA regulations include the following:-
· Needles · Syringes · Scalpels · Connection needles · Auto-injectors · Infusion sets · Lancets
Sharps Disposal Containers The FDA categorizes the sharps containers as class II devices! These are subjected to premarket notification (510(k)) requirements.
The containers have to be of a particular design as well. It needs to be manufactured out of hard plastic or metal. The sides of the container should be resistant to punctures, with the bottom and sides of the container leak-proof, too. The management of the facility should ensure sourcing sufficient quantities of sharps containers as approved by the FDA. Moreover, the cleaning staff of medical facilities, laboratories, and pharmacies should check the OSHA regulations for blood-borne pathogens and needle stick prevention before disposing the biohazardous wastes such as sharps.
It is vital to respect the color coding rules related to disposal. The biohazard sharps containing blood and remnants of bodily fluid from the patients must be stored in a red container with the biohazard label displayed prominently.
One may also use yellow containers with a red label indicating their use. The word SHARPs should be visible on the label so there is no error in understanding the purpose.
Proper treatment and subsequent biowaste waste removal in Palm Harbor and Clearwater, FL, must be done according to the standards. It can be ensured by connecting with a company with an excellent reputation for the perfect disposal of such substances without violating rules.

His potential business partner scouting always followed the same pattern. First, he would notice someone intruging, someone with a certain je ne sais quoi others were lacking. Then, he would strategically place himself in their view where he was sure to be noticed — "accidentaly" passing each other in the winding corridors of the hotel or lounging by the pool, even though it was his least favourite place to be. This ritual was supposed to build trust before there even was any connection to speak of. Sort of like a wolf, laying on the ground and exposing his neck to show he means no harm. Finally, after a period of surveillance, if the candidate met all the requirements, Chishiya would use his executive connections to place both of them in the same game. Unfortunetaly, the pattern repeated several times this month, a dry spell for business partners, sadly. Despite a bulk of them being rather clever, in the end, they proved too rash, indecisive or simply unlucky. But her... she seemed unprecedented. Airi, Airi, Airi, her name echoed around his mind as he spoke it to conjure up her visage. And it came immedietely — heart-shaped face, long brown locks cascading over her shoulders and deep, brown eyes akin to his, sharp and focused. He was noticed during the surveillance period although this was not anything unusual, but at that time it made him feel rather naked. Wherever he went, her eyes followed and they read and analyzed until they came to a conclusion and turned away in a theatrically uninterested manner. She rarely spoke, blended in with the crowd when needed and routinely made herself seem like she minded her own business, which was far from the truth. A worthy oponnent, an even worthier friend.
She was indeed surprised to see him by the vehicle. It was nothing more but a passing expression, the first delicate autumn wind slipping in for but a second, after that, giving way to the usual summer warmness. He put the headphones in and took a seat by the window, keeping an eye on Airi in the reflection while Tchaikovsky's Souvenir de Florence filled his void of a mind. His chin propped up on his hand until they reached the hotel.
The ballroom looked sadly underdecorated for Chishiya's taste. A few fake wine bottles and glasses scattered around the tables, streamers coiled around themselves laying about the floor. Chishiya picked one of them up and brought it to eye level, cocking his head. The black tint of the visor making the blue streamer bleaker than usual. 8th grade ball. Then, no one wanted to dance with him. At 14 your schoolmates tend to notice the weirdness that clings to you like a foul scent you cannot get rid of. Tonight, the people gathered here were forced to take his hands into theirs. The streamer fell down to the floor as the visors turned black. Before it happened though, Chishiya managed to catch sight of Airi and mentally map her position of the dancefloor.
The first notes of Por una Cabeza filled the room. The blindness felt uncomfortable, the sharp ballroom lights reached his eyes but beyond that he was but a babe in the dark. Chishiya stood there for a few seconds before he was grabbed from behind by a pair of strong hands. He could feel their rough texture even through his hoodie. The person spun him towards themselves placing his hand on Chishiya's waist. He hated being led, just because he was not the tallest man around did not mean he automatically... Chishiya stopped the flood of angry thoughts slipping his mind. He was chosen by this person, he was observed and analyzed and the person made the wrong conclusion, which unnerved him. He was not weak, he was not a fool.
"Shall we dance?" voice of deep timbre asked.
"You have just wasted your one question." Chishiya answered, placing his right hand on one of the well-defined shoulders of the person.
"I am aware, but consent is imporant." the person cackled, spinning Chishiya once again and putting his hand on Shuntaro's back to lean him towards the floor.
They spun around the ballroom in silence. Tapping of feet and the serene violin of the song contrasting with the murderous undertone of the game. Chishiya's partner knew his tango, this combined with the fact that he was a mountain of muscles made Shuntaro seem like a string puppet in his hands. Oh, how the turntables.
Chishiya's ears caught a metalic sounds coming from his right and then he heard a knife sinking through someone's jugular and stopping at the jaw bone. A dull tud, then a sound as if someone was trying to catch their breath underwater. The music suddenly stopped, the visors revealing a gruesome scene. A young raven-haired woman laying on the floor with a kitchen knife sticking out of the side of her neck, still squirming and trying to gasp for air. In front of her stood a teenage boy, not older than 16. His white t-shirt covered in fresh blood, he himself — wide-eyed, his mouth agape muttering "I didn't do it" on a loop. His first death, his first game possibly, as twisted as luck is — hearts. There was a moment of total silence, broken by a deep timbre of voice.
"Obviously the kid did it." shouted his dance partner, a handsome, middle-aged man of brown hair neatly-parted in the middle and wrinkles adorning his face. "He spun her and then stuck a knife in her neck, look at the splatter" He continued. The kid had tears streaming down his face now.
Chishiya knew it was not the teenager but remained silent. He took note of each person gathered there earlier, some obviously have brought weapons. Knives, wrenches, hammers, handguns even - they would imprint themselves on their clothes, poorly concealed. But the young man? He brought nothing but a small Pikachu toy Shuntaro saw him fidget with right before they entered the ballroom. He will die in a second but such was the course of business in Borderlands, Chishiya shrugged mentally.
"No, no, no. Listen it wasn't me. I- I- I- didn't even have a knife. Please you have to listen..." the kid cried out, falling to his knees in the pool of blood. The teenager continued to plead as other accusers raised their voices and joined Chishiya's partner.
"Nominate the killer by pointing in their direction" the robotic voice cried out. As predicted, everyone in the room, Chishiya included, pointed towards the teenager, now sobbing. A moment passed and a laser beam shattered his skull as he sunk next to his ex-dance partner.
"My name is Hikyomono..." said the middle-aged man, smiling mischeviously catching Shuntaro by his waist again before the visors went black.
"I have not asked and I do not care." said Chishiya coldly, letting himself be led again.
Por una Cabeza's hopeful notes filling the ballroom that smelled of fresh blood now.
5♥ starter for @cheshire-shuntaro ♥5
A presence, a gray-and-white shadow with keen, pretty eyes and bleach-blond hair. Airi knew of him before she actually met him. An executive, a Diamonds specialist. Reserved and resourceful, not unlike herself. Chishiya.
She’d seen him around The Beach, stretching the dress code with the white hoodie he wore, but no one seemed to mind, no one questioned him. He had unnerved her at first, always observing, speaking in measured words, never saying more than he meant to reveal. Airi imagined she could hear his mind working at full speed. She had the distinct impression that Chishiya was up to something, planning, scheming, but what?
That night, as she walked to the car to meet the group she’d been assigned to, she was surprised to see him there. She felt relieved at first, and then alarmed. While she considered his presence as an advantage should they find themselves in a Diamonds game, Airi had the feeling that if the night’s game was one of those where only one person could survive, Chishiya would not hesitate to kill her. She’d have to be ready for anything.
They got to the arena in no time: A fancy hotel. The arrows led them to a spacious room, not any room, a ballroom.
The other three people in the car immediately crossed the laser grid, the point of no return. Airi waited until Chishiya went in. He did so unhurriedly, earphones in, paying no attention to her or anyone else.
There was a table right inside the white double doors, ten people were already gathered there, including their companions. There were strange looking visors on the table, clearly meant for them to wear. A screen lit up when Airi and Chishiya joined the group. A second later, the robotic voice announced that registration was closed.
The screen showed the silhouette of two people dancing. Airi’s heart skipped a beat, surely they wouldn’t have to? The synthetic voice answered her question.
Game: Murder on the Dance Floor
Difficulty: Five of Hearts
Clear Condition: Finish the song with a partner
Rules: Every player must pick a visor. The visor will obscure the player’s vision. During the song, players must pair up and dance to the music. At some point while the music plays, there will be a murder. Players will have one minute to nominate a killer. If the killer is identified, the game will be cleared. If the players can’t identify the killer, the music will restart and they have to pair again and dance. Players may ask their partners one question while they’re dancing. Nominated players as well as anyone who doesn’t have a partner will be eliminated. Protect your partner from attacks, unless you believe them to be the killer in which case you can choose to nominate them but be aware that you will need to find a new partner.
Airi looked around, weary of everyone. Five was a deceptively low number, but she wasn’t fooled, this was not going to be simple.
'Let the dance begin,' she muttered to herself.

My Thoughts on Cassian after ACOSF
Bear with me, this might be long.
All jokes aside, what happened to Cassian? ACOSF was a huge 180 in his character and he went from being this caring and understanding guy to this insensitive jerk. I knew everything was going downhill when he told Nesta that everyone hated her during one of their fights. But what pissed me off the most was that Cassian actually believed that saying "I didn't mean it" was an adequate apology. I find it hypocritical that everyone gets on Nesta's case for saying things in anger when Cassian is just as guilty. He is surprisingly cruel and never owns up to his own mistakes. He has a lot to own up to and apologize for but I doubt we are going to see it anytime soon.
This wasn’t even my biggest problem! Throughout the book, Nesta is out here hating herself and thinking she doesn't deserve anything or anyone. That she wasn’t worthy of a life outside of the house e.t.c e.t.c and he just ...lets her? Nesta is out here pouring her heart out during solstice to him and telling him how she thought she was a piece of shit like Eris (which is far from the truth) and how everyone was right to think that she didn't deserve him and he says nothing. What is romantic and moving about saying this
“You’re not going to marry Eris,” he said roughly.
“No,” she breathed.
His eyes blazed. “There will be no one else. For either of us.”
“Yes,” she whispered.
“Ever,” he promised.
In response to Nesta saying “I do not deserve you, and I never, ever will.”
Despite what Sarah J might want to convince us of, Cassian is not an inarticulate fool and he is capable of speech. Sure he may not be as “silver-tongued” as Rhysand or as sharp as Nesta but surely he could do better than this????
I have read many books since finishing ACOSF and some books with similar plot lines (FL feels worthless/undeserving) but unlike Cassian, the ML steps up to the plate and becomes that voice of reason, support and love (Honourable Mention: Rip from the Plated Prisoner Series.)
Every time I read this scene and many scenes like this one, I always question why Cassian didn’treassure her? Why didn’t he tell her that she was wrong to think this way about herself and help correct her negative and toxic outlook? The Cassian I thought I knew would never let her go on thinking the worst of herself. Why is he at a loss for words at the most crucial scenes? This was not the emotional and heartwarming book I signed up for. Sarah J had me turning this book upside down looking for the love, understanding and kindness she promised. Overall, the emotional connection was severely lacking. In its place was rigorous and overly frequent sex.
Now don't get me wrong, I love the spice but it took away from key emotional and relationship building. For instance, the Kelpie attack and aftermath. Why in the world did Sarah J think that after an ordeal like that, Nesta would be fine to jump and bang Cassian all night. Even horndog Cassian was a little hesitant. We’ve seen the impact of sexual assault on Nesta’s emotional and mental health before (cue: Thomas) but somehow after nearly drowning and being sexually assaulted by a Kelpie, then wearing the mask and commanding death soldiers, as well as fearing the worst and overall panicking about the entire mission which later on resulted in bruises all over her body, the first thing on her mind was....sex?????? Come on. What I would have loved to see is her opening up about how traumatizing that whole experience was for her and them actually having a real conversation and (*gasp*) no sex. It would have been so cute if Cassian stayed in bed with her until she fell asleep just because she didn’t want to be alone that night. So much potential and possibility, wasted.
(Side Thought: I would have also loved if Nesta caught Cassian reading up on one of her favourite smut books and getting all flustered about it. Or them dancing and having this moment during Star-fall instead of that Amren disaster. Or even doing random things together throughout the city, joking and teasing and getting to know each other better, but alas😞).
The scene that disappointed me the most was the hiking scene. Cassian really said that she had to pull herself out of thoughts of suicide. What kind of message is this Sarah J? When someone shows suicidal patterns and thoughts, you do not think they can pull themselves out of it. That they need to fight it on their own. Reading that had me so shocked because that is a dangerous outlook on suicide. You need to stop whatever it is that is going and re-evaluate. What Nesta was displaying was passive suicidal ideation. Passive is no less dangerous than active and should be taken with equal if not more seriousness. The Cassian I thought I knew would have immediately been attentive and concerned. He didn’t even realize she was dehydrated and unwell until she collapsed behind him and they went on like that for hours. Even Rhysand would never have pulled this with Feyre. I thought Cassian would have been the same.
All in all, whoever this jerk parading as Cassian is, I hope I don't read about him again.

CREATOR CLASH BOXING EVENT DEBUT MAKES HISTORY WITH SOLD OUT ARENA AND OVER 100K PAY-PER-VIEWS AND COUNTING

The SOLD OUT event saw some of the biggest digital creators going toe-to-toe for charity
TAMPA, FL (May 14, 2022) – In front of a raucous, sold out crowd at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida, and also online at Moment House, the next evolution in influencer boxing took place. Creator Clash, created and produced by iDubbbz, in collaboration with Real Good Touring and co-creator Mike Leanardi, hosted an exciting night of boxing with some of the biggest digital creators facing off in the squared circle in pseudo exhibition bouts.
In the night's main event, Ian "iDubbbz" Washburn took on Mike "Dr. Mike" Varshavski. The fight went the full five-round distance, with the judges awarding the fighting Doctor the victory with scores of 50-45 twice and 49-47.
At times, the sold out crowd of fans in attendance was earsplitting, hanging on to every punch each participant threw.
In the five-round heavyweight co-main event, Harley Morenstein of Epic Meal Time stepped in the ring against Arin Hanson of Game Grumps. After two dominant rounds in which he imposed his size on Hanson, Morenstein got the technical knockout victory.
Real estate agent and investor Graham Stephan faced off against YouTuber and professional Fortnite player Michael Reeves in a five-round lightweight match. In the second round, Reeves landed three or four straight hands in a row that backed up Stephan to the ropes forcing the referee to halt the bout. The fight was stopped at the 1:48 mark of the second round.
The cruiserweight proceedings carried on with Brett "Hundar" Hundley of Muscle Party fighting Ab "Starkilla" Ayad of the H3 Podcast. Both creators took their time getting to the action in one of the more tactical fights of the night. Hundley was able to get the stoppage victory in the fifth round after the referee stopped the fight with 50 seconds remaining.
The ladies took center stage with Haley "Yodeling Haley" Sharpe battling Justa Minx in a junior middleweight bout. Minx and Haley went to war, trading bombs in each round. In the fourth round, after some clean right hands were landed in a row from Minx, the referee stopped the fight with just 50 seconds left.
In a five-round cruiserweight bout, Austalia's Alex Apollonov of "I Did A Thing," took on The Odd 1s Out Robert James Rallison. Apollonov made quick work of Rallison as he ate a series of right hands and jabs. The fight was stopped at the 1:24 mark of the first round.
In the first of two heavyweight bouts, Internet Comment Etiquette's Erik Hoffstad fought San Francisco’s DJ Welch. The California native scored multiple knockdowns in the first and second rounds en route to scoring a technical knockout. At the end of round two, the fight was stopped at the 2:00 mark.
The cruiserweight action continued with Ryan Magee of comedy-duo SuperMega facing off against Alex Ernst. After a series of exchanges, Ernst landed a right hand that sent Magee down to the canvas in the fourth round. The bout went the full distance, with the judges awarding Ernst a unanimous decision victory.
Kicking off the clash of the creators was Matt Watson of SuperMega facing off against Nathan "Dad" Barnett in a five-round middleweight match. “Dad” wasted no time and immediately began throwing power punches landing nearly every punch he threw. After a minute of nonstop blows, the referee halted the bout in the first round.
The amount raised for charity, which included the American Heart Association, The Alzheimer's Association and the Healing Horse Therapy Center, was astounding thanks to ticket sales, and once calculated, will be announced at a later date.

An Angel’s Vow
Chapter Seven - (Read on AO3 | Read from the beginning)
An hour and a half later the three of them were standing outside of a large, chain store supermarket. Mesmerized, Jack’s eyes widened with excitement. “Daa!” He glanced at Cas and then immediately back at the building in front of them. “Daaa!”
Cas chuckled, rearranging Jack in his arms. Luckily because of his angelic strength, he could hold the baby with only one arm even when Jack was squirming. A rare, tiny smile stayed etched on Cas’ face.
Claire glanced at them out of the corner of her eye. For privacy Cas leaned in close to speak and Claire did too. “Every time he says Da, Jack keeps hitting me with his wings.”
“What?” Claire bumped her head into Cas’ shoulder. One of her hands latched onto the side of his sleeve. “He has wings? Can he fl-”
“Shh.” Claire closed her mouth and blinked. Cas continued. “Yes, he has wings. He doesn’t quite know...what they can….”
“Ohhhhh. Okay.” She glanced at the baby still caught up with all the sights and sounds of the busy supermarket. His little fist was against Cas’ chest. “Yeah we wouldn’t want a flight risk situation.”
“Absolutely not.”
They went inside and Jack twisted and squirmed more in Cas’ arm. “Big!”
Grinning, Claire followed along at Cas’ side. She was paying more attention to Jack than she was her surroundings at this point. “Is this his first time?”
“The local market is much smaller than this.” Cas turned his head to glance around. They were aimlessly walking straight into the middle of the store. He seemed almost overwhelmed himself, and he held Jack closer.
“Sooo are we avoiding the toy aisle or not?” Claire raised a teasing eyebrow.
Cas narrowed his eyes. “Is that something I should be worried about?”
“Nah. You might need a shopping cart though.”
He blinked and looked intently at the people walking past them. They all had one. “You might have a point.”
“How else were you going to carry everything?” she quipped. Her eyes caught the movement of his hand. “You know you don’t have to hold Jack every moment of the day, right?”
It didn’t matter how fast he pushed down his emotions, Claire still caught the wave of fear in his eyes. Her smile faltered. “Is….being out of the house too much for you?”
“No.”
“Then what? You look spooked.”
Cas surveyed their surroundings again and he pulled her in even closer. “You don’t understand what could happen if we’re found. And there’s a lot of people here.”
“Okay,” Claire said, taking a step back. “But you said it yourself. No one’s shown up since Jack was born. And you’ve warded us. There’s nothing else you can do.”
“That’s not good enough.”
She put a hand on her hip. “Well too bad. It’s all you got.”
Cas rolled his eyes. Jack watched their exchange curiously.
“If anything happens we’ll do like we’ve always done. We fight.”
Cas shook his head and stepped forward, trying to exude a menacing aura. Claire stared back at him unfazed.
“If anything happens,” Cas started. “you run. Disappear into the crowd. Get as far away from me, Jack, and here as possible. You don’t want to be tied to this, Claire.”
“Well maybe...you should have thought of that before you ran off with my dad’s face!”
They both stood there, Claire silently fuming and Cas choking on his guilt, for a while. People passed on by them, oblivious.
“Laire.” Jack broke the tension. He reached his hands out to Claire.
Sighing, she put her arms out to take him. Cas bit his bottom lip.
“What, you don’t trust me?”
“I trust you with my life.”
“With Jack’s too?”
Wordlessly, Cas handed the nephilim over. After a few moments of shuffling, she ended up with Jack seated on her hip. His fingers curled into the fabric of her light jacket.
“Go take a moment. Scout for enemies if you gotta. Shoo.” Claire waved him off.
Cas rolled his eyes with his whole body. He sighed, “Claire.”
“Just go get the cart. We’ll meet you where ever the baby clothes are.”
“Okay.” Cas crouched down to Jack’s eye level. “Behave.”
“Oo-kay, Da,” Jack said before squishing his face into Claire’s side.
“Yeah, bye Da,” Claire teased with a sharp edge to her voice.
Rolling his eyes, yet again, Cas went searching for the shopping carts.
Chuckling, Claire readjusted Jack again and looked around for any sign of where they needed to go. “Okay-” Jack stared up at her intently. “Jack.” His head tilted and his eyes squinted like he wanted to ask a question.
She wondered if he could tell that she stopped honeybee before it rolled off her tongue. Shaking it off, she continued, “Let’s look for some new clothes.”
-
Cas brought himself back to the entrance of the store. He wasn’t exactly sure where the shopping carts were, but logically this felt like the correct location. This would have been easier if he wasn’t still on edge. His eyes kept darting around, looking for anything suspicious.
It didn’t make a bit of sense to him that no one had come for Jack yet. He turned before realizing it was the clanging of metal coming his way that caught his attention. A whole line of carriages were being pushed near by. A relieved sigh escaped him. At least that was one less thing to waste time thinking about.
Cas stood back and watched where the shopping carts were being brought. He planned on waiting for the store employee to go before he selected one. A large part of his mind kept circling around Jack. His birth should have emitted a pulse large enough to draw untold numbers of eyes, and it likely did. They escaped, yes, but there’s a good chance Jack emits pulses of power at random. Likely, when he grows….like last night. Probably once he figures out more things he’s capable of doing too. Cas felt like a heavy stone had been dropped into his stomach.
He felt like he was failing his mission. Castiel needed to get back to Claire and Jack immediately. He needed to keep them safe. Frowning, his frayed wings itched to unravel into waves of light again, but after everything….they’re incapable of ever reaching the correct pitch. If they could, he wouldn’t have to worry. He would be able to see the kids from here.
The carts were left over by the far wall. Cas made his way over and looked over a few of them. They all appeared to be the same, but he found that some were dirtier than others and the metal was sharp in places on another. Eventually, he settled on one that seemed suitable enough for the task.
His hands curled around the handle, and he turned the cart around. Castiel? He froze. Um, Cas? It’s Sam.
-
They walked around for a while before coming close to the right section. The store felt like a labyrinth. Claire turned to peek around the aisles. “Do you see Cas anywhere?”
“No Daa?” Jack frowned.
“Nope. No Cas anywhere.” Claire stopped and leaned against a shelf. “He’ll be here soon. He always comes back.”
And then, there was a muffled ringing noise coming from Claire’s pocket. Sighing, she struggled to dig it out with her free hand. Of course, it flew out of her hand. “Fuck!” She missed catching it.
But before it could smash into the ground, it stopped. The phone was floating in mid air, still ringing. Claire snatched before anyone else could see. “Holy fuck, Jack. Was that you? You’re telekinetic?!”
Shy, he hid his face in her side. A soft smile was there before he squished himself into her.
“Hello?…..Claire? You there?”
She looked at the phone in her hand. It was Alex. The call answered during the scramble. “Shit.” Jack peeked a curious eye at her. Claire put the phone up to her ear. “What do you want? I’m busy.”
“Who’s Jack?”
“Jack who? I don’t know what you’re talking about. Cut to the chase.”
One of Jack’s hands curled into her hair while he squinted at her. She shot him a, don’t you dare, look.
“Oooo someone’s defensive. Spill barbie. What’s with the secret dream house life? I thought you were on a hunt.”
“Shut it. Don’t be gross.”
“Gross? I’m not the one hiding a boooy.”
“Stop it! He’s like-….just stop. He’s a literal toddler that I’m holding.”
“What! Who handed you a baby?”
“It’s a long story.”
“I thought Jody said you were dealing with a haunting.”
“Things change. Now did you want something?”
“Are you….okay?”
“Yeah!”
Jack’s expression softened, but his fingers were still tangled in her hair. “Ookay. Okay. Okay. Okay.”
“Holy shit. You’re actually holding a baby right now.”
“Why would I lie about that?”
“I just can’t picture you with a kid.”
“Don’t you have other people to drain? I-”
“Daaas!” Jack started squirming so fast that he tugged hard on Claire’s hair. He tried reaching his hands out. “Das!”
“-gotta go,” Claire mumbled, looking up to see Cas pushing the shopping cart towards them. But then, his eyes widened. Him and the cart moved faster towards them and Claire was certain it wasn’t Cas’ doing.
“Jack!” Cas yelled, and he stopped moving. Jack buried his face and hands into Claire’s jacket.
“Claire? Who was-” Claire hung up and shoved the phone back into her pant’s pocket.
“Hey Cas. Did you know that Jack is telekinetic?” Claire unhooked his fingers and held Jack out to him while he stopped the cart in front of them.
Jack clapped his hands and then reached them out. “Das!”
Cas raised an eyebrow and Claire shrugged. He took Jack back into his arms. “I had a feeling he’d be telekinetic. It’s a simple thing any angel can do.”
Crossing her arms, Claire shot Cas a pointed look. “So you’ve been holding out on me?”
“I fail to see when this would have come up.”
Claire stepped away from the shelf and walked a few steps before turning around. “True.”
Nodding, Cas turned his attention to Jack. With his free hand, he lightly held onto one of Jack’s hands. “I need you to listen well, honeybee. We need to wait until we get home before we do any more moving things with our minds business.”
Jack frowned, sticking his bottom lip out.
Cas slightly tilted his head to the side. “Okay?”
“F-uck.”

HASO, “Saved by a Nightmare.”
I wanted to write something short and quick today, but this is what happened instead. I hope you all like. I knw you wanted to know more about the Bran and what happened to Ket
He was alone.
Finally!
He said that, but what he didn’t know is that he had actually been mostly alone for the past five years. After his traumatic experience some five years earlier, he had requested a transfer to a mining station on an unnamed planet in an unnamed system on the very outskirts of andromeda.
He had not come up for air in those five years.
He had not seen a sole or the suggestion of another sole other than the glowing bioluminescent coating that he left behind to brighten up the tunnels just a bit.
He was technically supposed to be down here mining precious metals, and of course every day he sent up a token care of rocks and waste through the main shaft just to make him think he was actually doing something. He was not, in fact, doing anything at all really except slowly excavating his tunnel deeper and deeper, this increasing the likelihood that he would never see another living being for the rest of his life.
And so there he rested at the bottom of the deepest shaft amid a pile of rubble contemplating his own thoughts.
A pastime that was not really recommended because when he went into his own thoughts he often spent much of that time bitterly contemplating the last few years and what had led him here in the first place.
Ket was famous, and he had spent the list five years trying to make himself anonymous once again.
Why was he famous?
Because he had been the first alien to have ever met a human.
He was the first alien species humans had ever come in contact with, and because of that chance meeting he would probably have emotional scars for the rest of his life. When he closed his eyes at night he often watched, as if in slow motion as the dangerous creature with its too sharp teeth and strange churring growl chased him through mases and tunnels, never giving up, never ending pursuit until Ket wa exhausted and lying helpless on the floor.
He saw the thing in his dreams.
Jumped at every noise
And cowered at the very thought.
He had been just a pup then really, but the meeting had scarred him for life.
He had asked to come here only months after the encounter and hadn’t come up for air since. The outside world was lost to him, and he knew nothing of it except for the horrible humans which were now probably waiting for him on the surface, ready to eat him.
A part of him wondered if the strange predator creatures had taken over the galaxy yet, and maybe he was the last one of his species left trapped down here in the dark.
Ket didn’t watch the news, or seek any information about the horrifying creatures that had turned him into this. It would have taken him less than half a day to crawl from his tunnels and go ask, but the thought of leaving his safe, protective confines, just make him sick to think about.
No, he would stay here where it was safe.
He closed his eyes and leaned against the wall, when suddenly a low rumbling tremor rose up through his body.
He sat up and looked around as the cave shook and pebbles danced on the floor.
What was going on!
He turned in a tight circle pressing his ear against the wall.
Oh hell!
The tremor had destabilized his tunnel. He could hear it through the rocks.
What was happening! He tried to move, but as he shifted he felt the tunnel rumble slightly.
On no….. On no, this wasn’t how it was supposed to end, he was going to die down here, and there was no one to come save him. He hadn’t submitted a report in weeks….
In reality years.
No one was going to be ale to find him!
He sat there frozen in shock as another tremor rocked his tunnels. WHat was happening!
*** “Mayday mayday, Omen one this is mining facility 46A13 requisition immediate assistance.”
“Copy that 46, Omen in root to your position, please stand by.”
“And how do you plan on dealing with a tunnel collapse, Admiral. That's not exactly our area of expertise.” Sunny walked beside him, her long even strides eating away the distance as they made their way down towards the hanger.
“I have no idea but we are going to find a way.” They rounded a corner and the Admiral dropped to one knee for a quick moment offering his hand to a small fluffy figure who climbed onto his hand and allowed the Admiral to rest him on his shoulder, “Lord Avex, I am glad you could make it. Have you been briefed.”
The small, colorful, and pig eared creature tapped his foot on the Admiral’s shoulder.
“I think, if we remove one of the Vrul shield modulators, and unhook one of the laser mounts we might be able to make something functional for a rescue mission.”
“How dangerous is that going to be taking two high powered objects into a cave?”
“On a scale of one to ten?”
“Sure.”
“A twenty.”
Admiral Vir grunted and rounded the corner to where a group of marines werve suiting up in armored spelunking gear.
“Don’t the mining companies have equipment for this kind of thing?” Sunny asked, “I would assume they would be ready for any eventuality like this?”
“You would think that.” Adam said, walking over to joining the others, “But they are actually a little less prepared than you might think. The Bran have been mining manually for a long time, and they usually don’t need precautionary measures because they mine so well, of course this planet had also not shown any seismic activity up until now either, so I guess we can all be wrong about something.
“Lord Avex, talk to your men about getting the equipment ready.”
The fuzzy creatures bobbed its head, which looked more like it’s entier body, and rolled down the Admiral’s arm like a ramp, plopping to the floor and then dashing off into the darkness.
Adam pulled on a hard hat and tested the light.
“I still don’t see why they would send you. You guys have to experience in this sort of thing.” Sunny pointed out
Adam secured his hard hat and looked up smiling, “If I didn’t know any better I would say you were worried about me.”
She crossed both of her arms, “I AM worried about you, you big idiot. You seem to have this thing for running into dangerous situations with only half assed plans.”
He just smiled, “Not entirely half assed, we are going to be hooked up to camera feeds leading up to some of the diggers who are going to give us instructions.”
“Then why don’t they do it themselves?”
“The bran aren’t exactly known for their bravery, Sunny.”
She stared at him with narrowed eyes, “And sometimes, I wish that you weren’t known for yours either.”
“I’m flattered, I really am, but I have to go.” he reached out a hand, paused and then drew it back, stepping away while awkwardly clearing his throat, “Anyway, keep the crew out of trouble while I am gone will you.”
Sunny had no time to say anything else as Lord Avex returned at the head of a small army of his fluffy companions carrying some random parts that they were able to attach to Adam with some warning that this was going to be very dangerous.
Lord Avex would be accompanying him to make sure the machine didn’t self destruct at any point.
Sunny did not find that particularly comforting.
The humans on the other hand suited up like it was just another day for them, setting up and loading onto the drop ship without so much as a backward glance.
Adam flew one of the ships down, lord Avex claiming the copilot seat.
The world they landed on was tidally locked with it’s star leaving on side completely cold and the other side overly hot. They landed on the band between light and dark where it was bearable, and made it to within the Bran’s atmospheric bubble, which was the one piece of technology they were actually known for.
Upon arrival they were briefed on the situation.
Less than an hour ago there had been some sort of seismic activity below the surface of the planet. The jolt had been enough to destabilize many of the tunnels. Fortunately for them large groups of Bran had been able to make their way out due to their superior mining skills, but there were still a few trapped inside due to cave ins.
No bran was willing to go back down there to help their comrades, but the Tesraki overseers had had the brilliant idea to look for a group of creatures stupid enough to try themselves.
At least the Tesraki seemed to care about their people, which wasn’t often the case with the furry businessmen.
Most of the workers were stuck on upper levels, and would be relatively easy to get out.
But there was one.
“I am going to be honest with you Admiral, we aren’t entirely sure the bran is still alive down there. No one has seen him in nearly five years. We are only sure that he lives because, occasionally we get sent up a cart of useless rubble from one of the deeper shafts. Generally I would say he is a gonner and just leave him there, but, we have to try all of our options before we resort to abandoning one of our people.”
Adam nodded, “I have a Vrul strength shield and a Celzex designed laser. Will that be enough.”
The two Tesraki looked between each other in quick contemplation before one of them nodded, “The laser, for sure, but I don’t know how well a shield would stand up to the entire weight of a mountain crushing you, we can only hope that we can navigate you down there fast enough and quietly enough not to disturb the tunnels too much.”
“I will go with you to work the laser.” Lord Avex announced, and Adam didn’t argue. He knew the little creature would be offended if he questioned his honor. Celzex may have been insufferable egoists most of the time, but no one could deny their sheer bravery, or perhaps stupidity, but that was something he could admire at least.
He was a human after all, and had practically written the book on competent stupidity.
They were led across open ground under a dark sky, where massive floodlights were being shined down on the multiple tunnel entrances.
They walked a ways into the darkness of the first mine shaft where Bran were still fleeing for cover.
From there each of them was paired with a handler, who would give them instructions on their way down.
Adam was paired with the team lead since he was going to be going deepest. Lord Avex sat on his shoulder.
The Bran stared at them as they walked inside, shying away from the much taller, much scarier looking humans.
Looking at them brought back memories of his first alien encounter, a memory that was both fond and embarrassing considering he was pretty sure he had driven that particular alien to madness.
He had tried to find Ket before, to apologize for freaking him out, but by the time he had gotten around to it, the Bran had already gone to ground. Oh well, maybe one day something would happen, and he would get his chance to apologize
“Can you hear me.”
“Yeah I've got it.: He said, adjusting the sound on his implant.
“Now the entire cave system has been built throughout with audio relays, so we shouldn’t lose contact, but if we do, keep moving forward, and whatever you do, try to keep control of your feet and don’t let them touch the side walls.”
“Yes sir.”
The Bran had mostly cleared out of the front entrance leaving it open for Adam and the group of marines to begin their descent down into the darkness. He looked over at the marines in admiration, never had he had the opportunity to work with such a brave group of men and women, and he looked up to them every day.
They started breaking off halfway down the shaft to their different areas, until Adam was the last one still walking down. At this point the saft was still big enough for him to stand at his full height, and floodlights on the walls were still giving him a good view of where he was going. He had gone down some distance by the time he reached the end given two passages to chose from.
“Left.” he was ordered, and he stepped inside, gingerly making his way across the floor and trying not to touch the walls.
Lord Avex rested on his shoulder controlling his head mounted light.
The tunnel grew smaller and smaller as he went, and he found himself crouching along the way.
Lord Avex moved around back and clung to Adam’s harness.
“See the cracking in the cave above you,”
Adam looked up and did, to his chagrin, see a web of hairline cracks spidering across the ceiling, “Yeah.”
“Those are kept in check by the shoring up along the walls, and you don’t have to worry about them. Cave ins are going to be our biggest concern, now take the next right.”
He did as told, and had to duck under a low opening before continuing his way down. By way of instruction he made his way deep into the ground, sliding down ropes, and climbing through caverns with the ease of a creature that could only have been Bran or human. As far as he knew the Bran were the only other creature that had ever been designed for climbing besides humans, though he was finding that that kind of climbing was a bit different. Humans had originally found their homes in trees, while the Bran had always been cave dwelling creatures.
He found this out pretty soon as he tried to fit his shoulders through a very small opening, slithering forward and trying not to disturb the rock too much.
He was glad he had never been claustrophobic because even he was feeling a little closed off, he could hardly imagine what someone with a fear of being crushed would feel at a moment like this.
“How are you doing down there Admiral.”
He was huffing and puffing rather heavily as he army crawled through the next section of tunnels, lord Avex waddling ust before him.
“Good, good If these caves get any smaller I might not be able to fit though…. Shoulders too big, and there better be a place for me to turn around or otherwise I’m well and truly fucked.” He said that as a joke but a part of him was definitely panicking at that possibility.
“The Bran always build turnaround areas into their tunnel, Admiral, you are going to be fine. Anyway you are approaching the next section. This is a part no one else has been in as far as I know, so we are going to have to play it by ear.
That also was not entirely comforting, but he was going to have to work with it.
He hurried forward , as much as he could and slithered into the vertical shaft going downward.
This was scary as hell, but he kept control and didn’t panic crawling his way deeper and deeper into the caves.
At one point he was coming round a sharp corner some hour down into the dark when a soft rumbling rolled through the stone.
He felt his heart jump into his throat and the rocks swayed around him.
For a moment a spot of true panic colored his thoughts. He was going to die down here…. After everything that had happened….
“Hold on, must be an aftershock.”
He gritted his teeth and kept his head lowered, hand hovering over the control for the shield. He had no idea what would happen if he engaged it this far down, and he didn’t really want to find out, but soon the tremor passed, little fountains of dust falling onto his head. Up ahead the fluffy Celzex was no longer so colorful, matted with dust and gravel.
“Are you ok Admiral.”
“Alright.” he grunted. “A little bit shaken up is all.” He began crawling his way forward again.
Based on our sonar readings, you are getting close. The rock is much less stable down here, so you are more likely to run into cave ins.
He followed as instructed, moving forward and examining the rock below his hands.
As they said would happen they found a caved in part of the tunnel just up ahead.
“You’re going to have to use that laser to dig around one side and create a new tunnel, you will want to avoid the weakened areas of ceiling, so move back a few feet and go through the right hand side”
Before him, the little Celzex move into position ready to fire the weapon, now turned mining equipment.
The laser was bright red and almost blinding in the darkness, and he only had his gloved hands to scoop away discarded rubble, which he gently pushed up the tunnel praying nothing would be distrubed.
It took them a good hour to work through the new tunnel despite the laser, and when they did he was surprised to see an open tunnel glowing with a strange bioluminescent film.
“Something has been living down here.” he muttered kind of glad he was wearing gloves as he crawled into the tunnel.
Getting close Admiral.
***
Ket lay in the rubble ready to die, he knew it was coming, new his life would soon be at an end. Oh how sad it was that it should be so early. Stuck underground in the darkness for the past who knows how long…. Probably no more than a year or so.
Either way he was going to die here, and no one would come to help him. Bran weren’t brave, they didn’t come to your aid.
Bran were cowards at heart and he knew that most of all.
No one was coming for him.
Of course that is when he heard the strange scraping up the tunnel.
He sat up lifting his head and staring into the darkness. WHat could that be!
He was the only one here and had been the only ne here for as long as he could remember. Was he going mad, Where were those sounds coming from!
He pressed back into the wall.
Maybe that hadn’t been an earthquake, maybe there was some sort of giant worm crawling through the depths of this planet finally coming to eat him. Oh the depravity! Couldn’t he just be left in peace!
The scraping sounds grew louder and louder and louder, and he watched in shocked terror as a shadow jolted forward in one of the upper bends.
There was nowhere to run, nowhere for him to go, and even as he thought that the tunnel began to shake again. He held on for dear life, eyes closed praying that death would take him quickly, for he did not want to know what was around that corner. The shaking soon stopped and the figure started moving again.
Ket watched, in mesmerized horror as the thing poked its head around the corner.
Bulbous head, bony shoulders, long spindly arms and bony digits.
Ket began to scream, scream and scream as loud as he could as the creature born of his nightmares scuttled out of the darkness and came crawling towards him. It made some of its same guttural gurgling noises, the ones that had haunted his dreams, and he pressed himself back into the wall screaming and screaming and screaming.
It had come for him at last to devour his heart.
It reached out and grabbed him by the snout, cutting off his scream.
The ground around them began to rumble as the creature gripped him with iron hands, the pale white of its eyes glistening wetly through its dust smeared face.
“Shut UP, shut up shut up, do you want this whole damn thing to come down on us.”
He certainly had not expected to hear his own language, and his attempted screams cut off in a confused gurgle. The rumbling died down a little.
The creature made a gesture with one hand, “Ground team this is Admiral Vir, I have the last survivor and am bringing him up now.”
What…. Wha?
What was going on.
The creature's white teeth glittered in the illumination of his tunnel just as wet and gaping as before.
He was so scared he could hardly move, but shocked as well as the creature from his nightmares pulled him forward and hooked a harness around Ket’s body clipping it to a loop on a harness that encircled the creature's back legs.
“Now do what I do, and you might just live.” The creature hissed at him, still, disconcerting in his own language.
In a daze, Ket followed after as his nightmare dragged him from the collapsing tunnels. Trickling runnel of dust poured down around them from cracks in the ceiling above. It was made pretty clear early on that this creature had not ever been meant for the caves, despite Ket’s memory of one of it’s kind chasing after him through the underground. It was too large, meant to walk upright on thick sturdy legs, but till it climbed with the ease of any Bran.
Didn’t mean he wasn’t scared.
Memories from that night not so long ago, or it seemed to him, kept racing through his mind. Flashes of glowing green eyes and flashing white teeth champing at his heels. The sound of its revving hunting cry as it raced through the darkness. But now he was being towed along behind it as the tunnels rocked around him.
“Shit shit shit shit.” Came the muttering up ahead, and he looked to see that there was another creature riding on the thing’s back. It stared at him with very wide white eyes.
“Lord Avex?”
“Yes?” The creature responded, sounding much less concerned than the predator.
“What happens if you die here?” it was a very blunt and morbid question, but the creature didn’t seem to mind.
“I will be honored for centuries having died in a heroic manner.”
The predator made an incomprehensible grunting noise.
“Admiral, the cave system has been compromised and the tunnels are collapsing. Get out as fast as you can, I repeat as fast as you can, if there is a cave in you will want to be closer to the surface because we might be able to reach you.
They were talking like they expected a collapse, which wasn’t really all that comforting.
The predator went very quiet, but sped up to the point Ket was being dragged along behind.
All around them the tunnels were shaking.
Dust filled the air clogging their vision as the beam of light fractured off dust motes.
They passed a point he had not gone further than in five years, and the predator scrambled up the vertical climb as easily as a Bran would, he scrambled on hands and knees dragging the two of them along. He was almost able to walk in a crouch now, but the tunnels were beginning to cave in around them, rocks falling from the roof and smashing against the ground. The Preditor ducked and pulled to the side grabbing ket around the middle and the strange fluffy creature in the other hand. The tunnel was wide enough for him torun now.
Ket could do nothing but watch.
The predator probably could have escaped if it dropped him, but it refused to do so, adjusting him even as it ran so it could keep better hold, clutching KEt to it’s chest. Its breathing was ragged, labored and panicked, but still it refused to let him go.
He thought he could see light.
And then.
“Its coming down!”
The predator pulled to a stop and threw himself to the ground.
The cave rumbled and roared as rocks egan to fall around them. Ket looked up only to see the underside of the human’s chest and belly as he hugged the two smaller aliens in the leah of his body against the falling stone. He heard the cave ceiling fracture and then felt a pulse of energy around them.
The Last thing he heard was a scream and then a crushing weight.
***
Ket woke unable to breathe, or barely able to breathe, all around them there was a dim glowing of a blue purple nexus, and as he looked he watched the nexus quiver under the strain.
Overhead the predator was curled in around them in a tight ball pressed up against Ket and the strange fluffy creature who was blinking confusedly in the dark.
The predator wheezed as the nexus flickered, holding the two aliens' protection to his chest, pressing his back against the nexus.
“Admiral, are you alright?” The fuzzball asked
“How long will the shield hold?”
“It depends on how many tons of rock we are trapped under.” The Celxex said mildly.
Ket was surprised they were alive at all, based on their original depth he would have said a couple thousands tons for sure.
They were dead.
He glanced up at the predator, nothing more than a dust painted face and two glowing whtie orbs in the dark. This predator had died trying to save him, was dying trying to save him.
It seemed odd that his life was going to end like this.
He looked up at the human and in that moment, in the glowing of the nexus lights he saw the green of its one working eye.
He would have known that color anywhere.
“You!”
The predator looked down at him in confusion.
What? “You…. You’re… that thing!”
“Did a rock hit this one in the head or something.” The one called Lord Avex asked.
But the predator eyed him ,sudden recognition crossing his face, “Ket?”
The creature made that same strange revving noise that made ket pull back in shock.
“Sorry, Sorry, I am just a bit surprised to see you here, I tried to find you to apologize but…. You had already vanished by then.”
“Apologize?” He was so confused
“Yes, I was a bit enthusiastic upon our first meeting. They say I scared you half to death. I promise it was an accident. I never meant it that way, I just get a bit out of hand when I am excited.”
This was news to Ket
He wasn’t entirely sure how to take it.
“Ok ok you two kiss and make up already.” Lord Avex jumped in
The predator grunted, “At least when I die I will have that off my conscience.”
The Nexus flickered and shrunk.
They folded forward on themselves just slightly. Pressed uncomfortably close.
Wheezing fill the hot and muggy confines of their bubble.
The were going to die son.
The nexus continued to grow smaller and smaller until they were curled into a ball with the predator around them, pressed to the point of not being able to breathe. He felt the human’s belly rise and fall with his labored breathing.
They were about to die
And then, The nexus expanded slightly.
The human relaxed, and as minutes wore on the nexus continued to grow until with an eruption it burst up through the rock and dark night sky appeared above them.
The nexus flickered and then died, leaving them all lying on the stone gasping and covered in dust.
Paramedics ran forward to where tey lay with shocked yelles describing how they were still alive.
Ket stared at the human as he was attended to by aliens and others of his kind.
No one seemed to find it odd.
It became clear to Ket in the next few minutes that he had missed a lot.
Bu he hadn’t missed, his once nightmare, becoming his now savior.

He looked at them with expectation as the beats smoothly faded, indicating the song's ending.
If he were to be honest, the pair before him was a pain in the ass, but their opinion was that important because, when it came to music, they were the best at it. He felt no shame nor jealousy in admitting it.
"Dunno, the hook sounds like a Vice headline ta me." The bleach-haired male said, hearring the song's outro blaring through the studio speakers.
"Isn't it a Kid Milli reference, tho?" The other asked while munching a chip. He frowned at them, not understanding their point.
"Whatever. You two are no help anyways." Hearring their bullshit, the brunette already regretted this collab. He paused the queued song, turning to the other two with a blank stare.
The twins before him snickered, knowing they successfully hit a nerve. They couldn't help it, provoking Suna was one of their favorite hobbies.
"The song is good, but I gotta tell ya this butt hurt phase of yers is pretty lame." The faux-blond opened his mouth again, spinning around the studio with the desk chair.
"Fuck you, Atsumu" He snapped, almost giving in to the desire of decking them both on the face.
"Tsumu's right, ya Lil Peep wannabe. Can't believe this break up ended up that bad." Osamu said in mockery, throwing the empty Lay's wrapper at him. He scoffed, disposing the wrapper on the bin before getting back at the screen to look at the FL studio interface.
"It's not that I have a broken heart. I just wanna know what's wrong with my life" He shrugged, blindly tacting over the desk in search of his Juul.
"Yeah Samu, he's just grieving over those fancy ass Dior Jordans. Sunarin is incapable of mundane things like a broken heart." His blond friend was partially right.
Suna Rintaro was many things: alt model, music producer, cloud artist and a decent volleyball player that almost went pro. But if there was something he could never be, it was a lucky man on love matters.
With his fair share of failed relationships, the artist could never pinpoint when things went wrong. It would always be the same: he would meet a girl, they would have a good time and then, the chick would turn out demanding as fuck.
In the end, every single one of them would slap him across the face and leave his life banging the front door shut like crazy — last week, it was Mika who broke things off, but not before setting his limited edition pair of jordans on fire. He would never get over those sneakers.
"Good for him, those kicks were kinda ugly." Osamu said in a bored manner. Suna felt his soul leaving his body.
"The hell, Osamu?" He was ready to fight, deeply offended by the attack at his taste in fashion.
"Yo, you two." Atsumu butted in, checking something on his phone "Y'all are drifting away from our problem."
"That is?" The other brother asked.
"Cheer up Sunarin before he fucks up with the Album." If Suna had the energy, he would kick both Miyas out of his studio "And I gotta the perfect thing. Let's hang out at Akagi's tonight, he just invited us." The already distressed musician felt the soul leaving his body for the second time that afternoon. He was sure both twins wished his death.
"Not a fucking chance. Last time I went there I almost died because of that weird stuff we smoked."
"Aw, Sunarin, Kita'll be there too." The faux-blonde tried to persuade. The mention of their older, responsible and straight edge friend made Suna look at them with interest. But he needed more, though. Based on the last experience, he didn't have the will to risk his life going to Akagi's house once again. A shiver descended his spine as the male recalled how much he threw up that night.
"Suna, man, I gotta agree with Tsumu. Yer feelings are showing in your music." Osamu said as if he was some kind of genius.
"Isn't art about it, tho?" He deadpanned "Expressing feelings and shit?" He asked, staring them dead in the eye. The males before him shivered because of its intensity. Suna snickered.
"Man says art, but most of his songs are about the Nikes on his feet and the Tesla in his garage." Atsumu mocked "What the fuck?" The blonde barely dodged the moleskine thrown at him.
"Don't chew on me when you do the same, asshat. This is called character development." As unnerving the twins were, he felt a whole lot better in their company "Just lemme produce my sad stuff in peace."
"Cut us some slack, ya dumbfuck. We're just worried about ya." Osamu protested " 'Sides, no wonder no girl sticks by yer side. You know what the chicks find sexy? Seizing the means of production, not yer dumb car."
"You two are so la—" The musician was interrupted mid sentence, startled by the blond figure clutching his phone with enthusiasm.
"Oi Samu," Atsumu's loud voice startled the other two, as he excitedly fisted the air.
"What the fuck?" Suna asked, dropping the Juul on the floor.
"She'll be there tonight." The blond said, looking at his brother with a new wave of joy.
"The fuck? She who?" The brunette frowned.
"Ya gotta go and find out, man." The gray haired twin said with a knowing smile, matching his brother's excitement.
The night out felt somewhat draining. The booze, the music and the company were great, but his lack of energy was a mood killer.
Cheer me up my ass, Suna cursed internally as he observed everyone getting wasted all over the place. He grimaced at the sight, realizing the meeting with the twins was enough social interaction for the day.
He didn't know what's gotten into him. The male knew it wasn't necessarily caused by the break up, but he couldn't help the feeling down.
Right now, life just felt lowkey suffocating.
Being a public figure meant being under the spotlights the most of time.
People talked.
People assumed.
Media was all over him, ready to catch a scandall.
And of fucking course his name was on gossip headlines. It even occupied a spot on twitter trending topics for a day or so.
"Fuck me." He said before the lukewarm beer went down his throat.
"Sunarin!" He heard Atsumu shouting from his right "I want you to meet someone!" And only now he noticed the blond had his left arm over a girl's shoulders.
Oh, that's the one they were talking about, maybe? the brunette realized. What's the hype, tho? He asked himself, eyeing your figure.
"[Name], this is Suna. Sunarin, this is [Name], best girl ever and the mastermind behind the visuals of mine and Samu's last album" The bleach-haired male said with a proud smirk, ruffling your hair. You were obviously shy.
How cute, the brunette thought.
"Dumbass, don't embarrass me in front of others!" You nudged the Miya with your elbow "Nice to meet you, I saw your name on TMZ last week—" You said beaming and he grunted.
I take it back. Not cute at all, the man internally screamed, not ready to talk about the recent events. He didn't even want to listen to the rest of your speech, your cheery voice went through his ears in a white noise.
"And this makes me really excited for your album. The interview about the collab with dumb and dumber was lit." You continued, the words were genuine and you seemed really interested "And I also relate on a spiritual level because I know working with them is hell."
Oh, she's talking about the album. He realized in relief.
"Yo, I heard good things about you too. The design of their album was hella sick, even though they two suck ass." Suna snickered when he heard Atsumu protesting. You only left out a giggle, joining him on the teasing.
The blond kept ranting about how bad of friends the two of you were.
"I didn't introduce y'all ta gang up on me. Bye, I'm finding another company. Ya two suck." The blonde Miya said, leaving only you and Suna in the sofa area.
"Uh, so…" He drifted off, trying to start some small talk
"Yeah..." You both giggled at the awkwardness "Not enjoying the night?"
"Too much happening right now. Lots of people talking shit 'bout me." He sipped the beer, grimacing at the stale taste of the drink "Hope they cancel me already. So all this shit dies down." Suna looked away, suddenly shy for opening up to a stranger.
"You're a famous guy and the break-up wasn't that scandalous. It'll be over eventually, just beware the sneaker cult." Your amusement was comfort enough. You didn't make intrusive questions about the events and merely joked it off. He felt so worn out by the situation but, at least, your presence wasn't overbearring.
"How is it everyone knows about the jordans?" You shrugged it off, laughing at the distressed face he mocked. Sighing in relief, Suna couldn't deny how refreshing your presence was. Not to be a jerk, but usually, the girls either were all over him or judged every single move he made. You were just that easygoing.
"Well, I don't think you came here to sulk on the sofa all night long. Why don't we join them by the pool and down some shots?" You hopped off of your seat, pointing to the glass doors. All the boys were waving at you two and suddenly, Suna felt a wave of joy run down his body.
Atsumu was right. Best girl ever.
At some point of the night, everything became about you.
All he could hear was the sound of your voice and all the time, his eyes were drawn to your figure. He couldn't figure out a reason for it, but the rapper wasn't complaining either.
A sharp pang at the side of Suna's head broke the trance he was in. Osamu had a shit eating grin on his face, eyeing the ravenette with amusement.
"We told ya so." The younger twin mused whilst he handed a long neck of vodka to the other.
"Stop. This is dumb."
"Yer dumb. But you ain't that dumb ta dare ta mess with her." The gray-haired Miya squinted at him, menacingly pointing the bottle in his hand at the brunette. The latter shrugged it off, opening his drink.
"Nah, I'm good." And he meant it.
But how could he explain the situation he was in?
Lips and hands wandered over the expanse of his skin. Everything was too hot and too good at the same time. Overwhelming, even.
He wanted more, more and more. There wasn't enough of you.
And if it wasn't unfair enough, his body felt lethargic. He was desperate, but couldn't keep up with the rhythm you imposed. Be it the alcohol or the stress, his body gave up and blacked out, even before you could undress each other.
In the morning after, a pounding headache woke him up. Suna didn't dare to open his eyes, but the morning breath fanning over his face was unbearable.
"I can't believe a cutie like you have a stinky breath like this." The complaint came out in a raspy voice, accompanied by an annoyed grunt.
Someone snickered on the other side of the room.
"Man, I didn't know you had the hots fer Samu." Atsumu was somewhere across the room, laughing at him.
"WHAT THE FUCK?" Hearing the other, Suna's body jolted, dizziness made his head spin in the process. He felt sick in the stomach and the morning light made his eyes sting. "When did I get back here?" The male looked around, realizing he was sprawled over Akagi's floor, right beside Osamu, who didn't even squirm at the loud voices in the room.
"What do ya mean? We never left" Atsumu frowned, uncaping a water bottle he was holding "Ya puked on Kita and passed out. The boys were too wasted ta drag yer sorry ass back home so we all crashed here." The blonde was dumbfounded, trying to figure out how wasted Suna got last night.
Suna wanted to know too. After all, there was no way the events envolving you were a product of his drunk mind.
facts:
• Suna's artist name is yosemite.
• He has a Tesla Model S because of Frank Ocean.
• He takes his Nikes very seriously.
• No, not all of his songs are about the car and the kicks.
• He and the Miya twins got a sports scholarship because of volleyball, but they dropped out of school to make music.
• The three of them created Inarizaki, the label they're making music under. Kita and Aran manage it.
• Both Miya twins are beatmakers and music producers. They recently debuted as artists and now are making a collab EP with Suna, thus Atsumu's concern about the album.

Okay, so I wrote this story that is mostly about caretaking and stuff. It isn’t spicy, it’s mostly just wholesome. I actually really like these characters...I may use more of them in the future. So, without further ado, St. Ives Theater presents...
Catch Your Death
Death and his ward, Misery, had been walking through the dark, cold woods for quite some time. The snow was gently falling, piling inch by inch on the frozen ground below. The wind was howling through every leafless branch with frigid vigor. Death, who had seen colder and had felt worse, was striding forward with a focused purpose. Misery, on the other hand, was less experienced in the art of suffering. He was falling behind.
“M-master?” Misery said, shivering in his thin cloak. “Is thine soul nearby? Or shall we be forced to retire when the hour grows late?”
Death shook his head. “We haven’t the time to rest. Though the journey is arduous, the soul I am to reap must be taken when the strings of life are recently tattered. Miracles can happen. The dead can come back to life if a soul isn’t taken to the heavens. This shall only bring more pain and strife to the unfortunate wretch.”
“But...th-the snow, my liege...a-and...”
Death bristled slightly.
“You sound unsatisfied, Misery. Shall I remind you that being a servant of my dominion requires utmost faith, perseverance, and gratitude? Have you forgotten?”
“No, my lord. Never in the golden g-gates of heaven nor the red fl-flames of hell.”
“Good. And will you continue to remember?”
“V-verily, verily.”
There was a long silence as the pair trudged on, the air growing colder by the minute. The sun was soon beginning to set. The snowfall became a blistering wall of ice, nicking their cheeks and numbing their faces.
“We are near,” Death said suddenly after a few hours had passed. “I feel the soul crying out among the fractals, rattling them with desperation. Our journey will soon come to an end.”
Misery did not answer.
“Do you happen to see any lumps, or odd valleys of snow? A speckle of blood?”
Again, Misery did not answer.
“Ah, silence! You are still smarting from my earlier scolding, no doubt. Haven’t you anything to say? A sharp slash of that poisonous tongue?”
Death turned to face Misery, to give him a look of amusement - after all, he was only joking - but found Misery almost folded over into the snow. He shivering was so hard that bits of ice were falling off his shoulders. At the start of the trek, Misery had a blue tip on his nose from the cold air. Now the icy hue had climbed almost up to his nostrils.
“My God!” Death cried, quickly grabbing Misery by the shoulders so that the imp wouldn’t fall over. “What in the name of Hades are you doing?”
Misery blinked a few times, a few snowflakes falling from his eyelashes. He opened his mouth to speak, but couldn’t find enough strength to do much else. Death slowly moved one of his hands to Misery’s chest, trying to feel the pulsing of his soul. Instead of the lively swirling and pounding it usually had, there was hardly any movement at all; what little Death could feel was lethargic and quivering. With one smooth movement, Death picked the much shorter Misery up, holding the imp’s body against his chest.
“The...s-s-soul...” Misery murmured, trying to lift up his arms.
“The soul can be damned!” Death hissed. “I don’t know what ails you to the point of faint, but I command you to be still! Your energy is fading fast, and you mustn’t waste it on such nonsense as speaking.”
Misery settled back down, still shivering. His consciousness was started to waver, and he soon fell fast asleep against Death’s shoulder.
After a dreamless slumber, Misery awoke, his eyes being almost blinded by an orange, flickering light. He was wrapped in something heavy and warm. Once Misery’s eyes had adjusted a little, he opened them all the way.
He was in a cave, the wind still howling outside. A fire was roaring right next to him, casting comforting shadows along the wall. Death was on the other side of the flame. His cloak had been cast off, only showing the black suit he wore underneath. He had a small, black book in one pale hand, and the other was over his mouth. Death’s eyes, which were usually stern and unfeeling, were now filled with anguish. Suddenly, his eyes flicked up, and Misery’s gaze met his master’s.
“Oh, thank heavens you are awake. Oh...oh my God...I believed...you had...forbid the thought! Dash it!”
Death moved quickly over the fire - flames could not harm him - and embraced Misery tightly, then fussing with the covering like a worried nursemaid.
“You are composed of ectoplasm, to give your person deft movements and immunity to harm, but that gives you a sensitivity to cold temperatures. What I would have given to know that sooner! I thought I had killed you, Misery! It had been quite some time, and I...I couldn’t help but fear the worst.”
Misery couldn’t help but smile. He had to ease his master’s fears.
“I apologize deeply, my lord,” he said. “I should have warned you of my condition. Perhaps I could have...”
“Don’t you dare apologize to me! It is blasphemy to my ears! A wicked, wicked lie! What I perceived as complaining was a desperate attempt at fulfilling your ailing soul! I should have lost you, just to prove how much of a self-centered wretch I am!”
“My lord, peace. I’m qui...heh...heh...ITSCHEW!”
Misery sneezed, his nose turning a shining pink. He sniffled miserably, laying his head against the cave wall. Unfortunately, the sneeze had brought up more mucus that had lay dormant in the back of his throat. Misery started to cough, his body trying to support itself as he rocked back and forth. Death brought out a hankercheif and held it to his nose and mouth. Misery blew into it, trying to free himself of the weight that was building in his forehead.
“You poor thing,” Death said, uncharacteristically quiet. “My guilt should be of no concern to you. Rest, if you can.”
Misery sneezed again, his red eyes tearing up.
“But what about the...ITCHEW!”
“They are taken care of. They were nearby. The neck was broken, the legs were torn away from the body, and several teeth were scattered about. You needn’t worry about it anymore.”
Misery sniffed, a thin string of mucus coming out of each nostril.
“Whad happened to dem?” he asked stuffily. “Coud you dell be how dey died? Please? Lig you used to whed I was an imbling?”
Death nodded, drawing Misery closer to him for warmth.
“Certainly.”
Death thought for a while, remembering the soul and everything it had experienced.
“The year was nineteen thirty-six in the congested - no pun intended - city of New York...”
