Back before I knew how to use knives, I picked up the biggest one we had with the serrated edge and stabby pokey things on the end - managed to stab it through an entire apple and into a fleshy part of my palm opposite the thumb.
My mom had to put a butterfly bandage on it to keep it closed up. Got lots of knife use lessons after that one.
