It shouldn't come as much of a surprise that most of the Sanses (Sans, Violet, Nyx, Ash) will laugh and reply with a fruit pun of a similar calibre, so let's look at the ones who'd have a different reaction.

Poppy sighs audibly and, out of a sense of moral obligation, takes their phone and shows Violet, who absolutely loses it.

Nightmare is likely to sit there for a few seconds to a minute or so as he tries to figure out exactly how to respond and what kind of impression he wants to make. It's entirely possible he never replies - either because he doesn't want to encourage this kind of behaviour further, or because he gets enough of it already.

Fresh is torn by his love for comedy and his commitment to the bit - does he laugh and play along, or send a text saying theft is bad? And if he goes with the latter option, that definitely makes him a hypocrite, right?

Briar doesn't leave it for long. When she sees the text, she whips out her sketchbook and draws what ends up being a graphic fruit-bank robbery, complete with orange juice blood and bits of banana mush. That's her response.

Mertale (and merfell, merhorror if your willing to do those) Both boys

The merskele’s Special someone is a deep sea mer but has been spending their life’s closer to the surface since the pair have been mated. Since the merskeles are naturally more adapted to mid ocean/surface level. The Skeleman is starting to realize the toll it’s been putting on their someone. Their eyesight has worsened and the scales that used to glow in the dark are dull. Their someone is saying they’re fine and just adapting to a different form of living but the skele knows just how much their someone would rather be deeper. What you’d they do to help?

Scales: When he sees that you've been having a hard time, he thinks about what he should be able to do. He tells you that you should go back under the water and go back to the deep end. He'd come and check on you and once you're feeling better, maybe you two could start to meet up instead of you living with him for such a long time? He doesn't want you to feel like you NEED to be around him all the time. Seeing you… like this makes him feel sad.

Shark: Shark is a tiger shark! That means that he's able to live around 1,100 deep in the ocean, he just enjoys going around and exploring so, if you live deeper than that, he thinks that it might be best for you to go back to where you normally live then he could come and see you whenever he wanted to! You two could meet back in the mid whenever you're able to… he misses being able to be around you all the time but he wants you to be safe and happy.

Chum: Well Chum isn't just a mid or surface level mer. He can live in the deep dark if he wanted to, and it might be better for him, he's just up there because he enjoys it. So, honestly, he can go back into the deep down dark deep with you.

Mer!Molt and Cross get to know each other! I imagine this takes place about a month after Cross joins Rem.

I made a few adjustments to Molt's design from last year, for the most part though, feel free to assume the colors are roughly the same (or camouflaging to his environment. his design is based on a cuttlefish after all, and they are know for being colorful and mesmerizing!) Cross is a White Tip Reef Shark. In this variant of Mertale/Mermaid AU, Rem turned Cross into a Mer to save him from drowning. Why? ... I shan't say. Maybe I'll expand the story later... but there is a reason. Rem is not known for saving random land-loving monsters.

When Skeleton does something too mean or bad S/O will wrap them up in a blanket burrito as a punishment. The blanket burritos are inescapable. All main boys except for Willow I don't want to hurt him

Undertale Sans - He's giggling the whole time, not regretting anything for even one second. He accepts the punishment as you're obviously encouraging him to nap. He lets you deal with Papyrus once he gets home to explain to him why he's sleeping instead of doing the dishes.

Undertale Papyrus - He's pouting in his burrito. You're ruining his routine and he's mad. Now he's late and he's going to have to do things twice as fast to recover. Please let him go, he's begging you! That's not funny, how did you even manage to make it impossible to escape? It's a blanket, not one of his elaborate traps!

Underswap Sans - He's struggling, growling, and rolling on the ground in his burrito, trying to free himself. It was funny for the first two minutes, but now he's losing his mind because he hates staying still for more than two minutes. You're laughing at his misery but do nothing to free him.

Underswap Papyrus - That's fine. He gives you the sad pathetic puppy eyes and waits for you to break down. Eventually, it works, only for him to betray you by immediately lunging at you to give you a taste of your own medicine. Now you're the one stuck in the burrito, and unlike you, Honey is very patient and not too much in a hurry to free you.

Underfell Sans - He makes annoying noises with his mouth to piss you off, smiling like a shark in his ridiculous blanket burrito. He's never going to stop. You can try to flee, he's going to teleport right behind you to continue to annoy you. You better let him go fast or he's going to do it even louder.

Underfell Papyrus - You want to annoy him? Good, he can do that too. Edge is screaming. Just screaming. Nonstop. Very loudly. He's going to ruin your day, and won't hesitate to puncture your eardrums if you dare to ignore him. Think of the neighbors, they're definitely going to call the police on you if you don't do something. Edge knows he has already won. You just don't know it yet.

Horrortale Sans - He whines. Not too loudly, but just enough to be annoying. If it doesn't work, he just falls silent, staring at you with sad begging eyes. He can even cry to make you feel bad. As soon as you free him though, he switches back to normal mode, like nothing happened, and you understand he manipulated you, fake crying and everything. He has no regret.

Horrortale Papyrus - He knows really well he can escape your death burrito thanks to his back problem so he teases his brother when he is stuck inside one. You swear they're children sometimes.

Swapfell Sans - Well that's fair. He accepts his defeat. You win this fight for now. But not the war. As soon as he's free, he goes back to his room, throws a blanket from the stairs and your pillow, and locks the door. You're sleeping on the couch tonight as he's pouting all night like a child.

Swapfell Papyrus - Oh come on! That's not funny. He's trading his freedom against date ideas. Don't you want to go to Disneyland? He can take you to Disneyland! Or to the mountain! Or to the dump if you want! Please let him out of this horrible prison!

Fellswap Gold Sans - He's displeased. How dare you put the mighty and terrible general of the royal guard in such a humiliating position. He keeps taunting you, asking you to fight him like a real warrior instead of hiding like a coward in the kitchen. You think he can't see you? And he swears if you take one more photo he's going to get really mad and you really are not going to like what's next! You challenged him to come at you. He gives you a death stare, so angry, as he desperately tries to free himself. You better find a way out of this country before he manages to find a way out of this.

Fellswap Gold Papyrus - Oh well. Since he can't move and that he's comfortable, why struggle against it? Coffee simply falls asleep there. His brother passes by and says he can't believe he got caught this easily. If it was him, it would have never happened. Clearly, he's W E A K. He doesn't see you standing right behind him with a second blanket. Wine doesn't know it yet, but he's already a blanket burrito.

undyne has shark teeth that regenerate infinitely and every time she has warrior training with papyrus he inevitably knocks out 3 or 4 of them, which is fine, she's used to it. she tells him to keep them as a keepsake. by the end of their first year knowing each other he makes her razor sharp teeth-covered braces as an anniversary gift.

honestly i actually think that k_k deltarune is silly on purpose and not Just Like That bc god knows autistic people aren't treated as being capable of having a sense of humor. god knows k_k is treated like shit in fan content for being clearly autistic coded just like papyrus was. so i like to think he's silly on purpose. he knew full well that cap'n didn't mean 400 bagels for 80$ but it took everyone by surprise and what is he to do but Commit To The Bit. he knew exactly what capn Meant by "are we players?" but he was Not going to answer that. not when there was an opportunity to say something seemingly inane and also stop his siblings from fighting. his feelings about wishing he were a car are nuanced but he loves to just say it bc it tends to get him looks from strangers. he would tell customers in the shop "I love you" at the end of a conversation like it's a phone call and he slipped up but he Didn't bc he loves to just get a rise out of people bc he is silly on Purpose. he is a 'sharks are smooth as hell' kinda guy

This is a sorta joke question that made me laugh. So how would any of them react to some random skeleton coming over and saying that they're their child? Just from a different universe/timeline/whatever.

Sans

X to doubt. He has his own reasons for not believing this person, but that doesn't mean their sudden presence didn't fill him with something disturbingly close to anxiety. Of course, the multiverse is a complicated place, and in theory anything is possible. He'd suggest a paternity test if there was any chance of being able to tell which (if any) of the multiverse's seemingly infinite Sanses was the actual father.

Red

Panic. He knows his past and he knows what he's like; hell, there's a non-zero chance that this person could be his child from this timeline. He's not dad material, and he never claimed to be, so the fact that this person could actually be his child is terrifying. He had to raise himself and his brother, but he'd been a child himself at the time, and mostly untraumatized. The thought of potentially being responsible for another child (adult or not) makes him want to hide and never be found.

Violet

Doubts it, the same as Sans. But unlike Sans, Violet is more likely to welcome this person into his life anyway. It's hesitant, but he doesn't want to risk the chance of this person genuinely being his child, and sending them out onto the streets without family, shelter or food. This does mean more mouths to feed, but he's determined that no one part of his family circle should be hungry ever again.

Poppy

They practically have the adoption papers ready, whether or not it's strictly necessary. Like Violet, they're not willing to take the risk of turning a potential family member away. They'd be very interested in learning about the paternal parent this person knew, and if it sounds like there's been a case of mistaken identity, Poppy is still not likely to refuse them safety and shelter.

Nyx

Like Red, Nyx wouldn't really be all that surprised. His sense of responsibility is...shaky to say the least. He has his doubts as to whether this person really is his child, but what's more surprising is that there isn't a small army of them. He'll spend some time with them, teach them some knife tricks, and see if they have any idea how many siblings they may or may not have.

Ash

Needs a minute to process this, and another couple to come to terms with it before he comes back with a strong doubt. Even if he is the father, he doesn't exactly have a good track record of keeping people in his care alive, and he's not keen to go through it again. If they have nowhere to go, he'll hesitantly let them stay, but it's prefaced by an enter-at-your-own-risk kind of warning.

Nightmare

Strong doubts. At the same time, he's hardly one to refuse an outcast a home, so it's possible he'll bring them in and give them a room and a job. With time, perhaps the truth can be unfolded.
