Made this gigantic shark for my Master’s Advisor’s kid - my advisor’s also been my professor for about 75% of my classes and he’s been quite lenient on due dates with me because of work so I owe him a lot and this was the least I can do. I had to carry him through two airports, across the London Underground, and through part of Edinburgh to get him to the kid.

I definitely am gonna make a sharky for myself at some point, but I’ve got a few other projects to finish up including a blanket for a friend who is having a baby pretty soon. And possibly a cat for this Monday because some of my family might be visiting.

Results of Delenn Learning About Shark Week

Susan referred to her period as “shark week” in passing, and Delenn appreciates a good research into the unknown, a "deep dive", if you will…

she knows so many facts about sharks. so many. she will make conversations with new people about these Earth animals. she really likes to talk about surviving mass extinction on multiple occassions, but it’s a little more than taboo for her to do that.

Delenn cannot watch Jaws because of its inaccuracies regarding sharks.

Delenn calls Ivanova акула (ah-kool-ah)- “shark” in Russian.

David has shark everything from his Auntie ‘Nova. I mean everything. Clothes and pajamas and stationary and toys- and his Anla’Shok Na absolutely crocheted him a holster for his denn’bok when his training was complete.

Ivanova takes Delenn to an aquarium focused on animal rehabilitation on Earth soon after John’s death, and Delenn would not budge from the shark exhibit. The center then continually receives a significant stipend from the IA's budget focused on environmental protection to go to shark rehabilitation following the visitation.

well, my name is actually macey... but i like to go by mae online. i don't really care if you call me either. i thought id make a little intro post given i recently created this blog (it is actually a copy of an older one, but i wanted a fresh start).

my bio states most of it, i am 21 years old, i live in the united states, i identify as female, those are pretty much the basics. i consider myself a bit of a hobby collector and a gullible hyperfixater. some of my main hobbies include but are not necessarily limited to:

photography (i adore film, but due to no access to a darkroom anymore, i am primarily digital)

reading (mainly fiction, romance, fantasy, although i do enjoy an article concerning my special interests or mental health)

music (i play guitar, uke, and bass, as well as write my own music and lyrics, im a subpar vocalist though)

music listener (i am very passionate about the music i listen to, if it has resonating lyrics, i will listen to it, some of my favorite artists are mcr, coldplay, billie eilish (altho i think shes been a little iffy lately), eminem, $uicideboy$, brand new, and lana del rey)

crochet (mainly clothing, bags, and plushies)

doodling (i used to want to pursue art career wise, however was very burnt out and scarred by art teachers in high school and decided i couldn't use that for grades or income)

journaling (this is my most recent hobby picked up, however I've stuck with it decently strictly for over a month now and i am adoring it)

cd collecting (this is a passive hobby for me due to costs of CDs and a general life on spotify, however i do love collecting my favorite albums)

tarot and crystals (this is another passive hobby for me. i do not consistently practice tarot nor crystal meditation, however, if given the time and inspiration i will practice them. i wish i was more consistent, but i find these two to be moderately daunting)

I am currently pursuing an ASD diagnosis and am working with a clinic and insurance on finalizing testing, if anyone has gone through this process you know just how exhausting it is. I am diagnosed with ADHD. I believe these two things to be the driving forces in why i am the way i am and if not who i am. i strongly dislike statements such as "you are not your diagnosis" or "its just in your head." i am my diagnosis. it affects all aspects of my life. invalidating or denying that is invalidating me and ignoring a majority of my life and struggles. regardless, i may update here on how that whole process is going, tips i learn along the way, or further revelations that may occur during said process.

that being said i am a huge fidget toy enthusiast and am always looking for new fidget recommendations, i adore tangles, and these little edamame poppers, but id like to have more one-handed quiet fidgets.

some of my special interests are:

mental health and some disorders, i generally love learning how our brains work, both neurotypically and neuro-divergently

currently journaling its my main special interest and i adore looking for new spreads (ik a hobby sh)

crocheting (ik another hobby)

whales and whale sharks!!

collecting things, such as yarn, books, stickers, games, candles, skincare, and makeup (ngl most of it is purely collection)

japanese culture and foooooood

lake superior (i have always loved her and spent a year living a 15min walk from her)

i am a university student as well as working part-time, so the amount of activity on this page may not be consistent, as i already have an ever-changing life with variability in intensity from week to week.

i love animals, especially elasmobranchs (sharks and rays), manatees, cats, snails, and dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals. i collect lots of things, including pokémon cards, fossils, crystals, toys, and sensory tools. some of these things are also special interests. i post about all of these things and more.

i am a student, and i’m majoring in marine biology, which is also my special interest. when i’m not studying, i like reading, writing, being in nature, putting together lego sets, playing minecraft (which i am not very good at lol) and crocheting 🧶

while i am a semispeaking aac user with mid support needs autism and a plethora of mental health conditions, i don’t consider this a disability/mental health/autism blog. i just post about my life and things i like or agree with, and sometimes that’s related to disability. i also have a service dog who i might talk about on occasion.

oh and i use the puzzle piece to represent my autism. it’s okay if you don’t like that but don’t bother lecturing me about it. yes, i know it’s history. no, i don’t support autism speaks. i have redefined the puzzle piece in a way that makes sense for me personally.

I am home and had an ok day of sales. Made a bit over 200 dollars, which is good considering I'm trying to sell winter gear in 80 degree weather.

I did, however, have someone steal from me. They stole 3 cup cozies. It's whatever, but fucking sucks.

I also threw out my SI joint, which I can fix later.

My plans for the rest of the night are to get high, watch wrestling, and lay down. I'm starting with nooj.

I bought some cute stuff though!

I saw the cow and I needed it. The shark is for my partner because he loves sharks and his favorite color is pink. He also bought a pen made from purple heartwood.

And before anyone goes "but that looks crocheted" you are Correct. I'm absolutely dogshit at making toys. So I'll pay people for toys instead.
