Shaman King Flowers is such a pleasant surprise.

The little bit of added scenes, the subtle style change, I think they al work pretty well together. It definitely feels good.

The opening and ending are cool too. Really cool I'd say actually...

Meaning: Blue morning glories - enduring love, desire, infinity, power Saxifrage/rockfoils - devotion, affection and passion (the name itself is also fitting) Description: This character has everything you could hope for. He’s extremely devoted, inhumanly strong, heavily implied to be gay, and trapped in a time loop. In most loops, he sacrifices his own life in a last ditch effort to save the man he loves because it would be too painful for him to watch him die.

Some favorite moments so far:

The difficulty forcing me to use new things I wouldn't have considered before. I can't get by with the same 3 weapons and 5 spells I'd been managing the entire base game with. I'm now using spells, weapons, consumables, ashes, and buffs I wouldn't have considered otherwise. Backing me into a corner with this level of difficulty has, as it turns out, been a good experience in terms of forcing interaction with the game mechanics. I have more of an appreciation for a larger subset of the provided tools than I did before playing the DLC.

The spiral level design is a feature of all Soulsborne games, yes. But I like that with the hornsent lore being all about spirals, it actually feels appropriate in the DLC as opposed to a game gimmick. Their architecture is spirals, their art is spirals, and *they* are spirals.

Flowers. Flowers *everywhere*. And the use of color *everywhere*.

Finding the two dragons fighting up on the peak. Did not expect a crowd.

Messmer lives in a library/science museum?? Truly the perfect man, if you overlook the tiny detail of being a war criminal.

Messmer choosing to greet you by immediately putting his snake in your face first thing. This and the romantic candlelit dinner murder is a bit much on the first date, sir.

Watching a different dragon stomp on the army for 10 straight minutes.

Being lost in Utah:

Shaman Village. I'm not spoiling this one.

Going from some of the most beautiful regions in the entire game to immediately shitting myself at least 3 times in the Abyssal Woods, all within a few hours.

Can we talk about how Yoh struggled to have this conversation with Anna?

I'll add that going from seeing someone everyday to nothing is hard. Like you feel like your heart is about to burst. I imagine this is how Yoh and Anna felt.

But how Yoh was struggling to tell Anna that their cosy life in the Inn in Funbari was about to never be the same again.

And if you think about it, it really never did.

After the trip to America, the training increased. School was no longer the focus. More of more people would end up greeting their hallways. The peace that was just Yoh and Anna living on their own would be gone.

The Shaman King tournament was over, and before they knew it, they were parents. They were married and in the Middle East.

Trying to stick together as a 'normal family' while also trying to keep a promise to the new Shaman King. Only to find themselves having to split apart from their child so that said child would not fate a repeat of an already terrible end.

Now they are lost.

They lost their home.

They lost their son.

Will they lose each other?

The fact we don't see their eyes and the eyes tell you about what emotions they are feeling.

Something is up and I wish Takei would just tell us already. I am a fan and I appreciate his work. I just would like them back now 🫠

Sorry guys if I have been quiet.

I'm not on social media much like I used to. College is important to me and I've made some nice friends irl. I'm actually getting close to graduating which is exciting! I might graduate next year. I have an Anthropology midterm coming up and I'm so not ready for it. I recently typed up a 3-page paper early before the due date in February. Anthropology has a lot of reading... jeez... but I'm taking it for my Natural Science credit.

Besides college, I'm so behind on the games I've been playing. Like, I am way behind on part 2 of the Pokémon Scarlet DLC (I'm at the part where I have to battle the Elite four and when I saw that they were all double battle I couldn't do it; I'm currently making my team stronger and changing Pokémon in my team). And also, Detective Pikachu Returns. I think I'm on Chapter 5 (?) and haven't played since October, I believe. I just don't want to see spoilers on those games because I want to be surprised. I rarely play video games now; It feels like I'm tired of modern Pokémon games now. It's hard for me to get into stuff like that.

Even getting into newer anime is hard too. I've been watching old anime, some which are currently getting fansubs including Magical Taruruuto-kun and Dr. Slump. I don't hate modern anime, I still watch them such as Demon Slayer & the recently released Shaman King Flowers (it's good so far).

I'm super excited (and worried?) about Dragon Ball Daima. I really hope this time, Launch returns. I wonder if they will make her into a kid like the others. It would be so funny seeing kid Blonde Launch with a gun and using it so well. I think we're supposed to get new info this week. Fingers crossed for my girl returning! She already made a cameo in Super Dragon Ball Heroes last year. And I hope she appears as a playable character in the new fighting game. She's playable... in 2 mobile games: Dokkan and Legends but she needs to be in a REAL fighting game.

I know I haven't been interacting and checking my timeline because I'm just busy now and I want to avoid spoilers on stuff I love. I just post my art on my sideblog and reblog it here and leave. But if I ever get the chance, I will come back to checking my timeline and reblogging other's posts. I miss you guys though.

So I started watching the Shaman King reboot and ended up wiki surfing and...

Me: so let me get this straight, wiki. Yoh and Anna were born in 1985 Wiki: yes Me: and the main plot starts when Yoh and Anna are 13, in 1998 Wiki: yes Me: and the tournament ends in January 2000, when Yoh and Anna would still technically be 14 Wiki: yes Me:...and their son Hana was born August 2000, when they both would’ve been 15 Wiki:...yes... Me: and then Yoh, Anna, and Hana are killed in the Middle East when Hana is still a baby. Hao remarks that a big war is sure to happen soon, and the closest war in real life to this incident in the Middle East would’ve been the Iraq War, which started in 2003. Since Hana is only able to say one word by the time he meets Hao, I’m going to assume they actually died in 2002. So after their resurrection. Yoh and Anna decide to leave Hana with Tamao. When was Tamao born again? Wiki: 1988, she’s three years younger than Yoh and Anna. Me: So when Yoh and Anna left Hana with her, Tamao would’ve been...14 years old????? Wiki:... Me: that’s fucked up man

I think I can begin to grasp what they meant by “when you love and forgive, you save yourself” (it’s really tough to feel it fully, but I want to get there someday)

it’s a really good message, and I respect the story for conveying it throughout the plot. That’s what I love the most about this tale
