Holy Palmers Kiss

Throughout their history together, the romance between Aziraphale and Crowley has mostly been expressed through incredibly subtle ways. It's been centuries (if not millennia) of nothing more obvious than a surreptitious brushing of hands or yearning looks when they think no one is watching. And of course, when they have plenty of deniability.

Good work, Aziraphale... hand on the chest of the Thin Dark Duke, and if anyone asked, you were just making sure that young lady didn't get bumped.

And this is for a very good reason. It quite literally isn't safe for them to be openly romantic with one another, even now. Demons like Hastur and Shax are constantly popping up... Michael and Uriel are always watching... eyes are everywhere.

They have certainly gotten closer to being open in the years that separate the two seasons. Crawley sprawls all over that bookshop like he has a personal vendetta against chairs - removes his glasses as soon as he steps foot inside (which is an incredibly coded action that I would love to take a more in depth look at in the future) - gives up the keys to the Bently... And Aziraphale himself has those longing looks - calls him up to talk enough that Crowley knows his "tones of voice" - and then, we get The Ball.

Technically, The Ball is for Nina and Maggie... or at least that's what Aziraphale says. We get the lovely little moment in the pub where he and Crowley try to come up with the best ways to get humans to fall in love with each other. But the moment Aziraphale mentions Jane Austen having characters dancing with each other and realizing how in love they were, I think at least for him the focus changes to this... THE BALL IS FOR CROWLEY. And once he starts giving away books to make sure the ball will be perfect, there can be no question. The entire idea is a way for him to be able to dance with Crowley.

That's why, for me, the most romantic moment in all of Good Omens, at least from Aziraphale's point of view, is this moment right here.

Vavoom! Sorted! Look at the way Crowley even curls his fingers around Aziraphale's hand! This is peak Aziraphale romance as a fan of Jane Austen.

But he's also a fan of Shakespeare. Even the gloomy ones. And every time I watch this scene, I'm reminded of a different ball from one of the gloomy plays that Crowley would hate and Aziraphale would swoon over. Romeo and Juliet. A fitting parallel to an angel and a demon being in love.

In Romeo and Juliet, at the end of the first act, is another ball. Romeo tries to get Juliet to kiss him, and she turns him down with this...

"For saints have hands that pilgrim's hands do touch/ And palm to palm is holy palmer's kiss"

There's quite the back and forth here between Juliet and her Romeo about hands and lips and such, (and eventually Romeo gets his way) but the parallel for Aziraphale in this exchange is unmistakable. He, as the angel, is the saint (and stand in for Juliet), Crowley his pilgrim. Snogging in public would be absolutely out of the question for our dear prim and proper Aziraphale... but this is a chaste kiss, and one that he is showing the world. A public declaration of his love for Crowley. A Holy Palmer's Kiss.

It's certainly debatable if Crowley would have picked up on it. Like a lot of their coded language there are times when one of them misses what the other is trying to say. But in my opinion, this was not only a public declaration, but his confession to Crowley. This is his "I love you" as much as "I forgive you" is.

Just for fun, here's how Romeo finally gets his kisses (but let's have Crowley stand in for Romeo and Aziraphale for Juliet, shall we?)

Cro. Thus from my lips, by yours, my sin is purged. (They kiss)

Azi. Then have my lips the sin that they have took.

Cro. Sin from my lips? O trespass sweetly urged. Give me my sin again. (They kiss again)

I have been having... a very bad day. Any spare fluffy headcanons for the boys? (and maybe some nsfw ones if you're up to it-)

ohh no my dear helena !!! its unfortunate that you’re having a rough day today :( remember that everything is temporary and that this day, like every other hard day before (and all following after), will pass in its own time.

i can absolutely spare some fluff ! that’s all i’ve got !

• javier goes to bed at about the same time that kieran is waking up every morning, right before dawn, and it’s a common occurrence that he will forget to untie his hair before laying down for bed, especially after a long night of guard duty. kieran will notice every time, and knows himself how easily long hair can get matted, so he will beckon javier over so that he can untie his bow. usually, he’ll also take the time to run his fingers through javier’s hair to detangle it as well, so that he’s even less likely to wake up to knots. javier adores it, teetering with the weight of his head and leaning hard into kieran’s legs on each side of his shoulders- sometimes kieran will even indulge himself in giving javier a head massage. javier never sleeps better, and coincidentally, he began forgetting to take his hair down a lot more after moving out to clemen’s point ….

• javier snuck kieran his first bowl of pearson’s stew after ‘making a social call’. john kicked kieran off his horse at the entrance of camp and javier watched as the latter dredged himself through the brush to what would become his usual resting place behind the rock by the horses. he looked miserable, dead on his feet, and javier knew by then he’d been weeks without a meal. he was a dirty, disloyal, unholy traitor of an o’driscoll, but something about his sunken eyes, the shake in his hand as he lit his first cigarette as a free man again- likely to quell off the hunger- it urged javier to act in a way that he’d never felt before. javier could kill a man in cold blood easier than he could stand to watch fear starve a man even after his hands are free to reach for the bowl. the study for learned helplessness in psychology will come years later, but javier understands himself now through watching kieran’s instinctual desire to survive be beat out of him by the gang javier dedicates his life to. with a healthy amount of spite to himself, he scoops a heaping amount of fresh stew into the cleanest bowl he can find, and sets out to add a fresh layer of flesh to kieran’s prominent bones.

• following this, cooking for kieran is one of javier’s favourite things to do when they get together. javier will cook for him traditional mexican dishes from home (as best he can. both with his limited skills and also with his limited accessibility to the proper ingredients. (probably for the best that he can’t get authentic chili peppers from home and has to use a less spicy chili native to this northern climate. kieran does okay with spice but it isn’t in his genetics to truly have a high tolerance.)) and not only will it be an unknown love language from javier, to feed kieran and make sure he is full, but it will also be a love language from kieran, to let javi share a piece of home with him.

• ^ also applies to modern au javieran ! javier loves cooking, and especially for kieran. they would cook together, but kieran struggles to cook with other people in the room, and javier gets so absorbed in it that he’d likely be running into kieran or otherwise being unhelpful in aiding in making sure the dish is being cooked correctly because he’s too Locked In to guide kieran LOL but they’re more happy to simply keep each other company, anyway. kieran on the counter/table/floor, watching javier sing and dance to the music he’s blasting from their speaker. cue dancing in the kitchen when the love songs come on (here’s a good one (rip javier escuella you would have loved dannylux)). the parallel play and quality time with these two is off the charts

• come mid/late clemens point, the way javieran make most of their money for the camp is by going on days-long fishing dates, laughing and laying close to one another in the grass under a tree on the riverbank in the shroud of darkness. they come back to camp flushed as all get out but with stacks of cash in their hands wadded up so thick no one dares to ask where it came from. kieran will get excited at even the smallest of fish, perking up and sharing/asking javier for tidbits on the species. they never miss a bite, either. one time one of the bells on their bobber rods rang once and they both broke out of a very hot and heavy make-out sesh so fast that javier tripped on kieran and nearly broke both of their wrists. they laughed so hard about it, javier was certain that by the time he arrived to his rod, the fish had already successfully ripped the bait off of his hook. he reeled in a boot, at the end of it all. he never lives it down.

• kieran is ambidextrous, and javier is fascinated by it. javier stumbled upon kieran writing on one rare occasion, and noticed immediately that he was writing with his left. “left handed, huh ?” kieran cocks his head at him in thought. javier wonders why on earth he would have to stop and think about a question like that. “uhh, not really ?” well, now javier is simply confused. “right, then ? is something wrong with your dominant hand ?” “um … no, that’s not it either …” and at this point, javier is demanding kieran explain what the hell he’s talking about, and why he’s pulling a prank on him. cue kieran explaining and javier making him do all kinds of silly “tests” like writing, shooting, playing guitar (as if kieran is going to any better with either when neither of them can do it right to begin with) because he finds it so cool.

• modern au kieran gets overstimulated incredibly easily, so he’s got a pair of noise canceling over-ear headphones that he often wears to dampen sensory input and ground himself when there’s a lot going on. when it’s cleaning day, generally no matter what he’s doing, he HAS to wear his headphones. javier is left to dodge him the same way he has to dodge the cats when they’re weaving in and out of between his feet. it also leaves him to dance to his own tunes when kieran suddenly swoops or sways or dips him to the music only he can hear- though just as often, javier will catch kieran dancing by himself and he will simply be unable not to join him, even though he can’t hear what it is he’s dancing to. as overwhelming as they can be, cleaning days for javieran somehow always end up feeling more like a date than anything.

• on a similar note, kieran also wears his headphones to bed, and listens to asmr/white noise to sleep. the pressure helps him feel safe, and the silence of a room makes him anxious. he also has a terrible bedhead and rbf in the morning. both of these things javier finds incredibly charming, and if he ever does wake up when/before kieran does (incredibly rare), this is his pov (right before he tries to kiss kieran’s face off and gets shoved away with a sleepy giggle that only bolsters his aggression);

and how could i resist a chance to finally talk about this ;3€ ?? i’ll try to keep them fluffy !

(context, i hc both of them as tguys usually (though im content with writing javier as amab too), with both of them being absolute, unabashed switches. they have little preferences anywhere in terms of bottoming/topping, though kieran has a preference for subbing, and javier has no qualms with domming more frequently.)

• as much raunchy, animalistic sex that javieran have, they have double as much slow, loving, tender sex. and most times between, they’re having raunchy, loving, animalistic sex.

• javi loves to turn kieran’s brain off, he loves more than anything to make kieran feel so overwhelmingly pleasured that he forgets everything that ever has, ever could, or ever will happen to him. nothing gets javier off quite like seeing the face of bliss kieran makes when all he can think about is javier’s mouth/hands/cock working overtime just to make him feel good.

• both of them i think are quite vocal when they’re able to be, and kieran tends to be vocal whether he’s supposed to be or not. both of them often dissolve into whimpers and “i love you”s and praise like “you feel/sound/taste so good” by the end. their love for each other has a carnal grasp on every aspect of their sex lives as well <3 so they’re always speaking so sweetly to each other, even if the way they growl it seems violent

• javier LOVES love bites. he loves to mark kieran up and he especially loves to bite and lick and suck on his neck, not only because of the primal aspect of his jugular being so close (as well as the warmth of his pulse thrumming against his mouth), but also because it arouses kieran to the point of making him shiver nearly every time. javier has permission to bite him hard, but it’s pretty rare that he ever does, and it’s only late into their relationship does javier feel like it will be more pleasure for him than it would just be pain. sometimes he can’t help it though, he’ll get so worked up that he just latches on and the way that kieran tightens around him is mind-numbing.

• they find so much peace in each other’s bodies. in every rib and wrinkle and sunspot, these two will spend hours simply exploring and enjoying the body of the other in whatever the closest form of “privacy” they can manage to acquire. turns out, kieran has sunspots all over him. turns out, javier has a keloid scar on the back of his bicep. turns out, kieran has a mole on his scalp right where his part is (this is canon btw i saw it once when i was studying him in photo mode like a specimen in a petri dish), and javier has back dimples, and kieran’s ribs stutter and dance beautifully when he laughs, and the flex of javier’s thighs warps his skin like a marble statue. javier escuella and kieran duffy love like artists, and they spend hours just learning and looking and studying each other, like a painter with his muse, like a writer with his words, like the last things they want to see while they’re dying are all the hours they spent learning the beauty of the other.

literary theses are so hard to come up with when i choose to write about things i really truly love with that emotional, subjective part of me that is the true professor in my heart... like i know how to analyze texts... but can't i instead just tell you about all the beautiful, magical parts instead?

stop a/starion has a BRAND NEW SIM AVAILABLE ON MODTHESIMS FOR THE SI/MS 2

#for those unaware E/A decided that we suffered enough and let us buy reformatted editions of og si/ms and si/ms 2 #which for bitches like me who STILL prefers ts2's gameplay over t/s3 and 4's gameplay (but likes a lot of the other #parts of those two more like the added diversity and everything which t/s2 does lack bc it was last updated in 2008)#in t/s2 it was still clearly a passion project whereas in t/s3 like halfway through the packs you could tell they stopped caring #t/s3 still had the storyline element tho that t/s4 just doesnt #but t/s2's lore is so!!!#the s/ims r/esource has once again proven itself a disappointment bc ppl last made content in like 2013 which is like still good for a game #again last updated in 2008 but yknow #and then made impossible to play so E/A released the whole collection for free after breaking the original buy and now even that doesnt wor #i had to reprogram the entire game last time i tried playing it which is why the price of the not even really a remaster #all they did was update the gameplay so it works on modern pcs (mostly)#which is worth it to me bc im not a great programmer and do not have the time to reprogram a game for three days to play it #and it was my favorite it honestly still is my favorite thing in the world is #playing v/eronaville and ruining shakespeare by making r/omeo and t/ybalt enemies to l/overs and having j/uliet take revenge w m/ercutio #only to get w p/uck its a whole thing but anyways im im so happy at least the m/od the s/ims community never abandoned me #bc t/sr certainly tf did. tumbs seems to have quite a bit of cc too which is so!!!#when my harddrive w all my old gifs and stuff broke i also lost all the CC i made all my meshes and everything #and unfortunately they did not bring body shop back like i wanted i doubt they will so i do not know how to make meshes without it #making custom sims is gonna be a fucking bitch without it actually bc bodyshop is my favorite thing its way way better than ts4's maker #i ust im so happy. also annoyed by the lack of body shop but so happy. i know a lot of ppl are pissed they're charging for it but its worth #it to me. and people are making si/ms 2 machinima again which is also a favorite thing. most of the old ones do NOT hold up anymore #anyways how do i bully E/A into bringing back b/ody s/hop i'll even pay for it at this point make it work for all four games #or at least 2-4 like #i honestly dont play 3 much im a 2 girlie and have been w 4 off and on bc i love it but the lacking is so clear as #someone whos been there since the start yknow but #asidjiasdifbeiadpisadhasidhasipdaspodhifoeajcapsdjsa #out.

DRACULA: A STORY OF LOVE Istanbul is enveloped in darkness. The heroine and Mehmed, who has taken her, play a game: they eat lukum and answer each other's questions when they find a nut. So the girl learns that Mehmed is the same sultan from the past, he did not die and was not reborn. Then the heroes go to the mosque, where Mehmed leaves the girl, and soon after she is found by Noe. Then we are transported to the past and see how Vlad by cunning and with the help of dark forces defeated the much superior Ottoman army and almost took Mehmed's life, but at the last moment he was stopped by Radu. Then, once again in the present, the heroine realises that in the here and now Vlad could not control his anger and went in search of Mehmed…

HELL AND HIGH WATER Fortunately, the team manages to avoid mines located right on the water. Without deviating from their course, they continue their journey - they talk casually, cook and even meet an orca. But the cosy evening does not end well: right in the middle of the night the protagonist is awakened by the uneven movements of the yacht and the wind moaning outside. Hastily dressing, the girl hears Chand's warning shout, and then the power of the entire water element falls on them. The waves overtake the ship time after time, until finally the terrible thing happens - the element takes away one of the crew members, the dearest to the heart of the heroine, finally and irrevocably. The search continues into the morning, but is unsuccessful, and the coming morning brings no relief. The night storm leaves a salty and corrosive wound of irreparable loss on the heroine's soul…

SONG OF THE CRIMSON NILE Ramesses tells everything he knows about Saamon: he is a very powerful oneiromancer who can kill in his sleep, is close to Pharaoh and is probably hiding in the palace right now. In a strange coincidence, Livius's mentor has a certain Saamon working for him. It is also strange that Pharaoh is afraid of oneiromancers and keeps only necromancers in the palace. But there are no shesmu practising two directions at once. Livius writes a message to his mentor, asking about Saamon. At that moment Seth returns and says that he knows how Eva can communicate with the dead Isman - she needs to get to the Duat. To do this, she will need the help of her friends…

CHASING YOU 2 The protagonist and Sam arrive at the royal treasury from where the tiara was stolen. But no serious evidence, except for rat droppings, is found. Rachel learns that not long ago the commander of the guards got drunk in a pub with two handsome guards. In the evening, the heroine goes at Ezra's invitation to a closed men's club, where he, along with the entertainment collects information. Ezra knows about the kidnapping of the Queen's tiara and encourages the girl to chat with the poor in the slums of London. On her way there she meets the twins and in their company she finds a poor thief pretending to be a dead man, and among his stolen goods is the Queen's tiara. Sensing a catch in everything that has happened, at night the heroine goes to meet the twins, who suddenly start talking about the death of the police commissioner...

W: TIME CATCHER Praevius moves all of the Conductor's power into Nova and partially into Shen, who tried to save her. After that, they lose control of their Presence. Getting out of the Vatican is impossible even after Lucien appears. A fight ensues with the hunters, among whom is Grigorov. He shoots the heroine and at that moment she is covered by Renato. At the last second, Shen still manages to teleport everyone, including the wounded Renato, out of the Vatican. The Alliance, along with the Archivist, immediately set about rescuing Nova and Shen - the Guide's power is placed in a secure facility. The team then returns to the search for the Source. The heroes determine the next place of research - the castle of Catherine de Medici, Blois, but at this moment Vesper brings sad news - right now Renato, never recovered from his wounds, dies…

KALI: FLAME OF SAMSARA Devi has a strange vision of Clara Swinford choking on her own blood. In an attempt to learn more about herself, she turns to Ram - and the latter performs a ritual, putting Devi into a trance where the girl sees scraps of memories of her past lives and the India-British wars, where constant and horrific sacrifices on India's part were in vain. Devi is pulled away from thoughts of her homeland by current affairs - de Clare and the entire Indian delegation have the honour of being invited to a ball at Swinford Manor. After a long assembly and the first dance with her fiancé, the heroine manages to slip into the depths of the estate, socialise with the guests and learn that the Swinfords are among the largest importers of opium. Doran and Kamal are also busy ferreting out English secrets - they illegally sneak into Swinford's study. Eventually, something draws Devi to a virtually empty wing of the estate, where she meets Clara. A brief altercation, the glint of a knife in the moonlight… and Devi's vision comes true. Clara is dead. The maid, a girl from India, helps Devi hide the evidence and mentions Samsara in the conversation, and Devi hears the voice of the newly alive Clara Swinford behind her back. Alarmed, the heroine runs out into the fresh air, where she meets Saraswati. Their conversation is interrupted by eerie screams from the direction of the estate; Sarah begins to speak in a voice that is not her own, her eyes lighting up red. A frightened and uncomprehending Devi suddenly notices drops of blood on her hem and realises that a murder has indeed taken place and that Clara Swinford is dead….

GARDEN OF EDEN MC and Minhyuk are baffled by a phone call that is answered not by words, but by a piercing melody played on a violin. But MC can't devote herself to solving the mystery, as her every day is packed to the minute. After a difficult conversation with Castiel's father, who insists on stopping any relationship, even a friendly one, between his son and Jiyun, the heroine has to go to the filming of the series, record a new song with Leah and have a fun cam. Only Eden does not let anyone go so easily - right during the meeting with the fans a young man with terrible scars on his face threatens the girl on behalf of the club. But she won't be intimidated so easily and MC starts to try harder than ever to get an invitation to a mysterious restaurant that is rumoured to be connected to Eden. Castiel makes a new suggestion: maybe Eden is just a revenge on Cas for the fact that he once managed to escape from them? Then MC, as Castiel's only love, is definitely in danger. The girl demands heavy security from the agency, but right on the stage, while taking part in the show ‘Queendom’, she notices in the front row the very crazy man with creepy scars. Meanwhile, Lin, under the influence of medication and following Eden's instructions, disrupts her own band's concert. Is this really the end of RK3? Lin is led away from the stage, but that doesn't stop him from breaking into the agency and attacking MC in front of Donghyun. The former RK3 leader is led away by security, and then the same classic tune that was on the phone found in Miyeon's possession comes out of the psychologist's laptop….

SOULLESS Vincent, Threxio(a) and the protagonist fly to the ancient Starling Archive. In the abandoned village in front of the magic-sealed entrance, they meet Xanthea, who also wants to enter the archive. Vincent allows her to join them, before binding her with a blood oath. Xanthea finds a piece of crystal in the archives, combines it with two others and obtains the powerful Abyssalite artefact. But her actions are a violation of her oath, and Xanthea burns up in front of everyone, then is reborn from the ashes. It turns out she is the Primordial, a demon who creates other demons. And she also created the protagonist, but the latter is a mistake because she can feel and is able to infect other demons near her with her feelings. And Xanthea's enemy, who needs Abyssalite to fight her, is the Veil itself. Xanthea leaves, locking Vincent, Threxio(a) and the demoness in the archives. The company finds Vincent's ancestor's secret room, takes all the records from there and, using all their powers, teleports home. A few days later, we meet Elliot, who says that the heroine's last client has gone missing, and charges her…

HEAVEN'S SECRET: REQUIEM The squad makes it to the train that takes them to Oxford. The heroes finally get to the Adam base and meet Donovan.
