[p5x-theories]

I've spoken about this on my own blog, but I have a theroy that the Phantom Idols won't necessarily be limited to the Core PT and Wonder's confidants. Given its a P5 gacha, it'd make sense to include the original games confidants as Idol options. Given past popularity polls in Japan we'd know who'd be selected. But Chinese fans have different favorites as the most recent poll showed. So it'd be interesting to see how this would turn out. -ShadowTarrot (having to anon bc ST is a SideBlog)

Personally, I'd love that! It'd be so fun to actually get to have all (I'd hope all?) the original P5 Confidants join as Phantom Idols, even if it's ultimately just more gacha fodder or locked behind an event or something. I know I've mentioned before on this blog that I'm a Mishima fan, and I've always wanted him to be a Phantom Thief, but I'd settle for an Idol instead. And it'd honestly be so fun to get to see the others as Persona users as well, especially the ones you don't see people talking about having specifically wanted to see join the team as much!

Ryuji Sakamoto Headcanons (Part 1?)

It’s best boys birthday and I’ve had these floating around for MONTHS! So I figured I’d make a list of them to celebrate. Some are original and some were taken from fics or posts I’ve read and were nailed to my brain. Have a great RyujiDay2021 and stay bonking! Ryuji lives in Shin-Okubo. (Taken from Apex of the World) Ryuji is multilingual: He speaks Japanese (obviously), the Hwanghae and Gyeongsang dialects of Korean, Scottish Gaelic (side effect of Captain Kidd), French (learned from Akira and Haru), and a bit of Finnish. (Original) When they were in middle school Ryuji and Shiho tried to teach themselves Finnish so they could speak to Ann in her native tongue and make her more comfortable (Original) Ryuji’s mom works as a nurse (and may or may not have been in the Yakuza). (Various tumblr posts/fics) Due to the above headcanon, Ryuji’s own knowledge of biology because of his time in track, and he and his mother constantly patching each other up Ryuji has the most medical expertise out of all the Phantom Thieves despite not having a single healing spell. (Taken from Butterfly Effect (as in: The effect a literal butterfly can have) Ryuji and his mother moved to Tokyo from Tatsumi Port Island in November 2010. (Taken from shadowtarots post but slowly mutated into what comes next) Ryuji is a close friend to the members of SEES and considers them all family. Aigis’s family name is Sakamoto and is Ryuji’s legal cousin. (Original) Ryuji is a visual/kinesthetic learner. He is not aware of this until AKira brings it up during a study session. (Various posts) Ryuji refers to his father as sperm donor and has dozens of faded scars from his abuse. (Should be canon. But it isn’t. For some reason DAMN YOU ATLUS!!) Minato gave Ryuji his headphones/music player before the final battle with Nyx and told him to hold onto them until the next time they see each other... Ryuji listens to them whenever he feels down. (Original)  Ryuji has known about Aigis being a robot for years. SEES is unaware of this. (Original) Ryuji is a massive myth/history nerd. He doesn’t know where L.A. is but can recite the Odyssey and the Ramayana word for word (Original)

I have an AU based off some posts by shadowtarot and all the 'protag is from inaba' fics. Basically Ryuji grew up in Port Island and acted as the collective little brother of S.E.E.S. until a few months after the events of The Answer when he and his mom moved to Tokyo (he did keep in contact with all of them). Sidenotes Aigis visits him and his mom every once in a while and is introduced as his cousin and Ryuji has Minato's music player as a sort of final gift. Thoughts?

Is roleswap!ryuji's backstory still mostly the same as in canon? Abusive deadbeat father (who I headcanon that Ryuji, in all AUs, simply calls 'the sperm donor') absolute saint of a mother (probably the only person who believes or (even listens to) Ryuji's side of the story when he's arrested. Also shadowtarot came up with a headcanon that Ryuji and his mom were originally from Tatsumi Port Island so maybe SEES could make some appearances? Is Mona still a cat or did he swap with Sumire?

Ryuji still has a loving mother, she believed him after he saved the young woman being assaulted. His father, however, wanted nothing to do with him and didn’t believe him in any way. Was only pissed off.

I was actually headcanoning Ayase from Persona 1 to be his mother, however I may name a few other characters via small description. If any P3 character were to make it in via name it’d be Kazushi Miyamoto, a social link (sorry)

Mona is not a cat, given the human form he acquired in Royal. He swapped with Goro. And Goro will be a cat, yes.

1. Usually I like to answer this with “thanks it’s the trauma” but really it’s because I have adhd and can’t keep my fucking mouth shut

2. I haven’t seen that but I’m really interested! I went and tried to search it up but couldn’t find the exact post so if someone could maybe link it that would be great. I did go ahead and follow their blog though

Happy Monday! Our card for the week ahead is the Four of Cups. This card is usually a sign of apathy, and disappointment. It appears when we're feeling bored or discontent about life, but can't necessarily pintpoint the reason why. ☁️ The Four of Cups can represent sulking, and isolation. It can appear when our feelings are overhwleming, and instead of dealing with them, we close ourselves off. It's important to know that it's not the world that's against you - you are doing it to yourself. 🌱 This week, instead of falling into apathy and self-pity, work on seeing the good things that are available to you. Remember that you do have options, you just need to open your eyes to see them. ☕️ For today, we have The Devil which ties in well to our Four of Cups. The Devil can show up when we feel like we're no longer in control. Born from posts made by shadowtarot. Ryuji and his mom lived in Tatsumi Port Island during the events of P3 and he was personal friends with most of S.E.E.S. After the events of P5 they (him and his mom) go back on vacation and he gets caught up in Shadow shenanigans. Bonus: Futaba finding out personally he knows Featherman Pink and fangirling. (Pretty obvious who my favorite character is?) Got an idea for a NG+ AU but I'm not confident in it. Would you be willing to give me criticism on it?

Persona Theory: The Summoning Aura

So you know how in the Persona games the aura surrounding the party members when they summon their personas is blue, and the antagonist/opponent persona users (Strega, Adachi, Sho, and Akechi. Also Margaret but she isn’t evil) have a red aura?

What if it has something to do with how the Persona is acquired.

In Persona 3 the personas are gained by accepting your mortality (hence the Evokers)

In Persona 4, you must accept the darker side of yourself that you rejected all this time.

In Persona 5, you must stand up to authority and release your inner rebel.

Well their are positive and negative ways to do this

You can accept that you ARE going to die, but still live your life to the fullest and enjoy it.

Or you can give into nihilism, nothing matters, we are all going to die, everything sucks.

You can accept the dark truth within and work to improve yourself

Or you can just go, “well, I guess I’m a piece of shit” and just give into your faults.

You can rebel against corruption and stand of for the innocent in hopes of making the world a better place

or you can give into the rage and desire the destruction of the society that oppresses you and leaves you to rot.

(forgive me if some of the gifs are shit).

The positive way to accept the truth (or mat the very least the one that benefits society more, the more pleasing mask) is the acknowledge it and try to improve for the sake of others, the more negative way is to go mad from the revelation and go whole hog into the shit you are supressing,

Just begrudgingly accepting the Persona will not work, like in the Persona 4 the Animation when Yukiko was in the cage just acceptng defeat crying about how much she sucks (at least that’s how I remember it). That isn’t a true acceptance.
