Emergency Commissions Open

I'll cut straight to the chase. My lovely fiancee has been threatened with being kicked out of her mother's house for a second time. Considering that her mother has already kicked her out once, the threat is very real and I want to start collecting and saving money in an emergency fund to make certain that, if she does get kicked out sooner rather than later, she at least has some funds to fall back on, even if it's just for food.

I have 62$ in my back account currently, which is obviously not enough to do much more than purchase some food. I opened my Christmas card early, and plan on exchanging the physical 100$ for digital eventually.

Casually re-watched all of Lego Legends of Chima for the 100th time and...

What the absolute hell is the timeline of the Crawlers?

Because Queen Crunket says the Crawlers spawned after eating the Chi Laval dropped in the Gorge.

But Lavertus, the crazy old lion, implies they've been around longer.

Like when he's explaining everything to the gang after they confronted him about being ShadoWind, he says, "I was just minding my own business living in exile in the Outlands when Spiders, Bats and Scorpions showed up!" [Not a direct quote]

He then goes on to explain that because of the Crawlers, he started racing in Chima under the alias of ShadoWind to get Golden Chi to build his lair to keep himself safe. (possibly the Legend Beasts as well, seeing as how he's basically friends with them, and its kinda implied he was going to rescue them until the gang showed up)

So if we follow Queen Crunkets' story, the Crawlers have been around for maybe a few weeks, maybe six months at most, until the Black Cloud makes its appearance. But according to Lavertus, they've been around a lot longer.

Remember, ShadoWind has been around for a few years. And if Lavertus's of stock piled Golden Chi is anything to go by, it's been a long while. Because during the whole thing with the Ice Hunters, the Exiled Lion pulls out like 12 whole Golden Chi orbs for them to escape from under the ice. And he still has more.

According to the Fandom Wiki Section for L-LoC, Golden Chi is created once every month. And since ShadoWind basically wins every Speedorz race he enters, I wana say he has at least two years' worth of Golden Chi orbs that we can tell hasn't been used up yet.

But he's been in exile for so long that Laval didn't even know he was his uncle. Obviously, Lagravis wouldn't want to bring up his brother or mention that he had to exile his own brother(can't wait to talk about that in its own post). As Laval says, he knows Lavertus is the only Lion in Exile he was told about. So he was most likely told about this during his studies, with no way of knowing the significance.

And since the gang are all around the same age 16-19(speculation, were not exactly givin thier ages but we know thier young warriors and 16 just feels right for the youngest they can be and 19 for the oldest idk why), Lavertus has been in exile for I wana say 20 or so years.

So 20 years of monthly Speedorz races, and the implication that the Crawlers exists for just as long.

Obviously, Lavertus could have just been referring to him getting more Golden Chi to fortify his home.

But the wording is weird with how Lavertus says it.

Could possibly there have been some Crawlers in the Outlands before Laval dropped the Chi? Sure, I mean there is an army of them, and a bag of Chi shouldn't be able to awaken that many Crawlers. The Spiders I can excuse because... Spiders. But the Bats and Scorpions? Na man, that's fishy as heck. And that's why Lavertus needed so much Golden Chi.

Tldr: The timeline is wack, and I say this as someone who likes FNAF.

So we know that not much time passed between Chima season 1 & season 2, bu based on the orbs of golden Chi, we can figure out a minimum of how much time passed from Shadowind's first appearance, Episode 8, to he 1st episode of season 2, Episode 21.

Remember, the lions held the race for the golden CHI every month, & even then, there was time in Season 1 where they stopped holding races due to conflict issues.

In the first picture, there are at least 16 golden CHI orbs hidden, plus possibly some that have light appearing (but I can't fully see due to the stupid Tubi time bar not fucking going down when I need it to).

In the second image, there are 17 CHI orbs present. However, some of the CHI shown in the second image are also shown in the first image. So after figuring out which one are & are not in the first image, we end up with 7 new CHI orbs.

So, we can assume that at least 23 months, or about 2 years, passed between Episode 8 & Episode 21. But remember, this is only the CHI we can see. This does not take into account the CHI Lavertus already used, which would increase the amount of time that's passed.

Sooooo, that would mean that more than 2 years passed within that time period, especially since we were shown multiple flashbacks where Lavertus was using different golden CHI orbs.

Shadowind Part 3: Unison Form

Comic Neue, I used to use Trebuchet MS but find Comic Neue really easy to read. It’s a fork of Comic Sans basically.

I sit down, get my iPad landscape and Bluetooth keyboard on, change its LED colour to one fitting my writing and go for it.

Not really? But anything written after 9pm is either amazing or a load of twaddle, no in-betweens.

17. talk to me about the minutiae of your current wip. Tell me about the lore, the history, the detail, the things that won’t make it in the text.

Oh dear. The WIP is Finery and blimey thats a lot of lore that needs its own post. But as a small snippet:

Mechanimals in this world have harvestable protoform (meat) it contains various minerals and is made of various ‘synthetic’ polymers along with energon. Energon isn’t explody in this universe when exposed to heat. Which means the raw protoform can be cooked to break down the polymers into more easily fuelled on food.

Which is mostly an excuse to plop in medieval cooking and food norms.

27. who is the most stressful character you’ve ever written? why?

Anyone in the current Fallout New Vegas fics I’m doing with Shadowind who aren’t Stunticons. Outside of my fic writing wheelhouse I lack confidence and I get really nervous about writing em ooc. But I’m told I do a good job regardless.

“We were created by Megatron and he initialised our personality programming, but Vector Sigma’s secondary defence came back online before it could activate us. Then the Autobots found us,” Other Motormaster said.

“So they reprogrammed you?” Breakdown asked. 

Other Breakdown shifted in Other Motormaster’s lap. “No. They gave us a choice. When Megatron didn’t return for us Prime said we could choose to be anything we wanted. If we wanted to be Decepticons he would let us. We eventually decided to choose the Autobots.”

“But why choose *them*?”

“Because they were kind to us. Megatron branded us as traitors for not killing Prime where he stood. He kidnapped the Arialcons and indoctrinated them when he lost us,” Other Motormaster said. His hand covered Other Breakdown’s

Rage burned in Breakdown’s laser core. It was one thing when he thought the Stuntibots had been created by Prime’s hands and programming. It meant it was inevitable that they would be different to the Stunticons.

But to be faced with the fact that the Stuntibots were exactly the same, glitched the same, but *happy*. Treated with understanding and compassion.

He thought of the way Other Breakdown and Other Motormaster looked into each other’s eyes. The fucking hand holding, the interfacing the shy kissing. The fact he never raised a hand to any of them, even with the same base personality coding urging him towards anger.

Breakdown’s engine screamed and his hands wrapped crushingly around Other Breakdown’s neck.

This is from a fic where the Stunticons get sent to an alternative dimension where there are Airalcons and Stuntibots. This is the moment Breakdown learns that the Stuntibots aren’t brainwashed and weren’t built by the Autobots—they were just treated like people and given support from day 1.

I came up with it because I wanted a nature VS nurture fic that said the Stunticons weren’t made evil even after Megatron’s speech to Vector Sigma. Even Motormaster. Because I hate the ’they’re fucked up and mentally ill that’s why they’re bad people!’ No. Some of it is that their main models for behaviour is the actual dumpsterfire of Decepticon high commands power struggles and g1 Megatron’s personal philosophy of ’violent military dictatorships are good actually’. Some of it is because they really need help with processing emotions in non destructive ways. Some of it is Motormaster choosing to hurt the other Stunticons but this is honestly the only way he knows how to even attempt to protect them.

The Stunticons deserve better and this is a painful look for them at what that would mean.

It changed just now because I went ’shit I need a WIP’ and opened this fic then realised ’Shit I haven’t worked on this in ages it needs serious work’ it isn’t perfect but I like where it is going. Fun fact Other Motormaster was called Orange Motormaster but it made me think of the fruit too much.

Shadowind Part 2: Corrupt Form
