Things I Don't Believe about Shadowhunters S2

1. That Magnus Bane has ever in his four hundred something years of life had Alec saved under "A. Lightwood" in his phone 2. That after threatening the goddamn High Warlock of Brooklyn's life on behalf of his brother/parabatai WHEN HE LIVED THERE UNDER HIS ROOF Jace was too selfish to have a talk with Alec about the break up 3. That Izzy just wants to be sisters with Clary (did you see those bedroom eyes they were shooting each other?) when really she just wants a “no homo” excuse for sleepovers lbr 4. That these idiots really didn't check Sebastian's body (okay maybe I believe it but they should know better) 5. That Jace Wayland-Morgenstern-Lightwood-Herondale is a straight: ▪️Who hasn't seen star wars just to fuck with Simon's head and make jedi mind trick jokes ▪️Who wasn't flirting over and over with Simon this season. (Dazzle me??? Mr. Vice President???) 6. That absolutely everyone in this show would let Simon Lewis, beautiful sunshine vampire, live in a ratty boathouse!?

Clary in 2x20

Can you imagine what was going through Clary’s head when she killed her own father? Seriously she went at him five times with that blade. She stabbed him the first time out of self defense, but then what else?

The second time: “This is for Jace” The third time: “This is for my brother” The fourth time: “This is for my mother” The fifth time: “And this is for me”

I used to not like Clary but after this episode I absolutely love her. She’s strong as fuck emotionally and physically. She’s becoming quite the solider to be honest. I'm excited to see what's next for her in season 3.

I thought for sure they were going to finish this season with the Mark of Cain storyline, but I guess not. Jace's heavenly fire this is moving quick tho.

What I loved about, "Beside Still Water"

• Maia being determined to leave the Seelie Court • Battle! Malec • "You can't get rid of me that easily" • The dragon demons • Jace's death scene: I literally cried. Between the music, Clary crying and Alec collapsing in pain as he felt Jace dying it killed me. Also the flashbacks and how Alec was reliving moments of them together. That was such a good scene • It was a nice wrap up of the Valentine plot • The celebration at Hunter's Moon • Luke being drunk and hugging everyone • Malec reuniting. I loved everything, their kiss, Magnus quoting Alec and, "I don't think I can live without you"

What I loved about, "Hail and Farewell"

• Luke, Raphael and Magnus having a scene together • “To be honest, I don’t think she has a heart” that line made me laugh I don’t know why • Maia (she better be ok or else) • Simon and Clary’s friendship • MALEC PHOTO BOOTH PICTURES • Madzie • Catarina (I’m so happy she’s coming back in season 3) • Luke and Maia duo • Forsaken fight scene. I do love a good fight scene and seeing them fight together as a team • Alec shooting an arrow through 2 forsaken • Izzy fighting Sebastian gave me life

You know, the more I think about it, the more it makes sense that the last Malec scene in 2x18 panned out the way it did, with Alec trying to fight to keep the relationship and Magnus walking away.

Alec is young, and he's never been in a situation like this. He's never been in a fight this serious, or fallen in love this desperately, and certainly not both at once. It makes perfect sense for him to think that he and Magnus can stay together through this, as they have through everything else.

It also makes sense that Magnus, being older, more experienced and knowing the full situation with the Seelie Queen, recognises that this really isn't a good time for them and they need to at least take a break for now. This is no time to start acting like Romeo and Juliet, throwing everything away in favour of staying together. They need to take a step back and be the Head of the New York Institute and the High Warlock of Brooklyn, even if it hurts. It makes sense for Magnus to be the one who understands this and makes the decision to walk away.
