Green Net for Construction: Why It's Essential for Builders
In the construction industry, safety and efficiency are paramount. Green net for construction has emerged as a vital component, ensuring both. This article delves into what green construction netting is, how it works, and why it's indispensable for builders.
Tumblr media
Understanding Green Net for Construction
Green net for construction is a type of safety netting made from durable, UV-stabilised materials, designed to withstand the rigours of construction environments. It serves multiple purposes, from safeguarding workers and passersby from falling debris to reducing dust and providing shade.
How Green Construction Netting Works
This netting functions as a barrier, catching or containing debris that may fall from heights. It also acts as a green shade net for construction, offering protection against the sun and creating a more comfortable work environment. The construction shade net significantly reduces the heat and allows better airflow, which is crucial for maintaining a safe and productive job site.
The Benefits of using Green Shade Net for Construction
One of the primary advantages of using a green shade net for construction is the enhanced safety it provides. By preventing accidents and injuries, it ensures that projects adhere to safety regulations and standards. Moreover, the shade net construction technique helps in controlling the site's temperature, which can lead to increased worker efficiency and reduced risk of heat-related health issues.
Why Builders should use Green Net for Construction
Using green netting is not just about compliance with safety standards but also about its long-term benefits. It can lead to cost savings by minimising the risk of accidents. Furthermore, these nets can help in containing construction materials, reducing waste, and minimising environmental impact, aligning with sustainable construction practices.
Choosing the Right Green Net for Your Construction Project
Selecting the appropriate netting involves considering factors like mesh size, material durability, and UV resistance. The right choice ensures that the netting will perform effectively throughout the construction phase, offering reliability and peace of mind.
Conclusion
Green net for construction is more than just a regulatory requirement; it's a critical tool for enhancing safety, efficiency, and sustainability on construction sites. Builders who prioritise the use of these nets are investing in their project's success and the well-being of their workforce.

s3 episode 6 thoughts
it’s been an exhausting day. work was awful. i was brave and didn’t cry whilst there. and for that, i deserve this episode even more than usual.
oooooh it’s an internet episode!!!! an episode about an internet killer!!! that probably felt new and scary back then!!! i’m excited to see something i assume as naturally dangerous as hitchhiking to be seen as scary and new. let us jump in, and enjoy the adventures of our agents, and numb ourselves to the hardship of the outside world.
these two people are in a car. he is smooth talking her. oh… they only waited three months to meet in person after talking online. hmm… is that speedy or not? i guess that depends on who you ask. for me, i’m gonna say speedy. because they didn’t even see each other’s faces before this.
he has mysterious scars on his neck. yeah, i noticed that very conspicuous camera panning. the music is very ominous. and now they’re kissing.
OH??? THERE IS A STICKY FLUID. IN HER MOUTH. an unusual one. not whatever you were thinking. what the hell… was that man some kind of insect????? there was real goop in there, man. eughhh it was very gross.
cop is approaching the car next day. and she is like. jelly? as in, covered in gel. the gelatin monster has struck and apparently he’s surfing the net.
(trust when i say i’m not a gelatin monster. or don’t trust. perhaps skepticism is better)
okay, investigation time. this guy shakes hands with mulder and entirely ignores scully. tells me a lot about his character very quickly. mulder has also got some more conventional looking shades this time around. perhaps his other ones were just not keeping the sun out like he had hoped for.
body reveal! so it seems that the goop has um. melted her skin? EUGH. mulder swabs the goop. it’s just a prop, i tell myself to avoid gagging. a prop with excellent construction that was very carefully crafted. shoutout prop team as always.
detective looks real freaked out by the goop. yeah he’s not special in that regard.
mulder says he has heard of similar killings from women placing ads in the paper! i don’t want them to separate though, as he announce he’s going on an investigation while she does an autopsy. c’mon, can’t we do some teamwork in the same room?
scully looks disgusted at the bloody goop in her hand. this is appearing to be a universal sentiment.
the goop man is at the computer typing to another woman. and smiling mischievously. we learn, from a woman dropping a key off at his door, that his name is mr. incanto, and she thinks that since he types and gets a lot of packages, he must be a writer or an editor. and she wants him to read her poems. wow. leaping to conclusions here. i admire it. it’s clear she’s flirting with him, and the idea of a person you’re attracted to reading your poems is a wild one for me to entertain. personally i would rather explode crazy style.
scully is scrubbed up <3 and she is so cute <3 i don’t mean this in a condescending way… she just looks cute in a fully “i respect her capabilities” kind of way. don’t worry. but this man is not respecting her and is shocked she’s a doctor. rude as hell… could never be me.
he says he’s old fashioned. umm okay if you want to be all manly about it how about you cut up the goop body yourself… oh that’s right you can’t. because you don’t have the skill set. or even any skill sets, as far as i can tell.
he says this is effecting her judgement because the victim is a woman and he isn’t being sexist. IF YOU DON’T SHUT YOUR MOUTH MAN…. she is so patient even when she ought to rip his heart from his chest with her teeth
she’s making a face when he leaves like she really IS thinking about doing some heart ripping and then she gets into the recording mode. and the body has increased in goopiness. in fact. there is only a skeleton now and a LOT of liquid. oh…
mulder is asking about the murder victim, and he’s sitting on a very 90’s printed couch, and yeah he looks good. don’t worry about it. he’s asking the victim’s roommate what chat room they met in. now personally, if i was talking to people on a chat room, i would not be telling my roommate the names of said chat rooms, but maybe it was different vibe wise at that time. imagine if my roommate knew i ran a blog like this. i couldn’t picture such a thing. and the victim would READ her roommate the letters???!? OH I CANNOT IMAGINE SUCH A THING!!!!
he uses the roommate’s house phone to call scully, who is dealing with a very wet skeleton. but that’s so funny to me. he wanted to use someone else’s phone to call her. maybe his phone still hadn’t been replaced since that kid melted it in episode 3.
he’s putting out a localized online warning… is that a thing? wow. you learn so much on this television program.
“in life, bones have the tensile strength of forged iron”, says scully. and i’m giggling. n kicking my feet.
ohhh the bone is SQUISHY. it is not supposed to be this way. but it did look quite satisfying. again, props team, shoutout.
oh tea… the body fat wasn’t there!!! it disappeared. scully is like, why would he do that, steal a victim’s fat. and i would love to know the same thing.
another woman is preparing to meet with the goop monster. oh, but someone is telling her there was a warning SPECIFICALLY for woman in cleveland to not go meet people online! but she’s like nooo i’m a good judge of character. LIES LIES LIES. she’s only been talking to him for a MONTH???? HOW CAN YOU JUDGE A CHARACTER IN A MONTH?
the killer’s at a fancy restaurant looking place with a bouquet of flowers and he’s checking his watch. oh and he dumps the flowers!!! queen of self preservation saved herself tonight by standing him up??? yes, it appears this is the case!!
now there are a bunch of ladies on the side of the road. i have only seen this happen in this show and never in real life, but maybe i'm not looking in the right direction. NO! he sees a woman and smiles. they go to a back alley… no!! but she won’t kiss him. okay, i think, she has a chance. alas. i was wrong. so he attacks. OH AND HE IS SLURPING ON HER BODY???? another woman finds her goop-ified.
they’re at the scene and the detective is being awful (shocker!) but mulder hands over some of the letters from the killer, and notes that they contain letters from 16th century italian poems. which tells me he is familiar with 16th century italian poems. ohhhhhhhhhh. blushing a lil.
focus. so the fellow would have access to niche italian poems, is what we are learning here. likely a college professor, or a grad student, or something along those lines.
the killer should also have a wound pattern, they note, because the woman scratched him very well.
and BLEGHHHH, cut to his place, where he’s cutting his wound??? like straight up trimming it like it’s fabric or something. nasty nasty nasty nasty!!!
someone is bringing him a package. and the woman who asked to show him her poems asks him to dinner?!?!?! but he says he’s busy. the teenage daughter reads him for filth. he’s creepy and smells weird. delivered by a girl who meant every word she said.
scully is posing impeccably, looking as someone types on a computer. it was formidable.
mulder comes by with some results and he sort of. scoops her out of the room. 😳
theory time in the hallway! hallway theory time!! always one of my favorite times. okay, it’s not yet the finely detailed insanity that you’ve come to expect from me” <- at least he’s self aware
FAT SUCKING VAMPIRE LET’S GOOOO. such a preposterous creature. i have to admire it.
there are examples of this in nature, right? “i don’t know too many scorpions who surf the internet” scully, you just offended the coolest scorpion alive somewhere out there. but they couldn’t hear you so it’s okay. just don’t ever say that again…
scully wants to brief the people involved in the case and the detective is again being weird. mulder recognizes this. i can see it.
okay, so the killer has some more niche italian poetry. and an email from the woman who saved herself by not showing up! nooo, i thought she had escaped!
knock at the door. it’s scully. but not at the door of the right guy!! the detective is at the door of the right guy!!!
mulder makes some remark about not being a good salesman because no one answered the door. and yeah i giggled. but she cuts him off with the fact the detective hasn’t answered his calls or returned… has he been gooped?!
now the killer is out with the woman who previously saved herself. and she sees his skin. and she offers to drive him home!!! noooo ellen :( don’t fall for his tricks and lies
the poetry woman is at his door. she puts a HUGE thing of poems under his door.
but back in the car he is about to smooch ellen. somehow poetry lady let herself into his room??? and a bunch of flies are around.
(we later learn she was the housekeeper or landlord or something so yeah. she would have access to the keys. but at the time i was baffled)
goop monster and ellen don’t smooch because he sees the poem lady is in his room!!! and the detective is in the tub!!! and he walks in right as she sees this!!! oh no. violence ensues…
her daughter comes to the door. and asks where her mom is. and he GRABS her weird as hell. and says he’s leaving.
mulder is sitting on a table again because he’s weird. but the girl calls the police!!! and they found her mom’s body and the detective's. the little girl asks scully why someone would do this and she says she doesn’t know… STOP I’LL SOB
okay, this dude’s name is virgil and there are no records of him existing. virgil. damn. maybe he’s FROM 16th century italy, because that’s a 16th century sounding name. are there any italian legends of fat sucking vampires? can’t say i’m very familiar with their lore
they’re trying to get into his computer and all the files were deleted. ohhh they have floppy disks!!! i love floppy disks 💾
the killer went to ellen’s place?!!?!? and she locks the door. ellen please pull out a glock at this time.
scully sent out a warning to everyone in proximity. and three of them were already missing!!!! that is evil :(
and ellen got the email but he’s in the room. and he starts attacking… oh lord, just as the agents roll up.
they get in formation and then kick down her door and WHEW they way they work as a team… i’m eating it up. sweeping the rooms. guns cocked.
ellen is under some sheets and coated in goop whilst mulder does parkour to go and find this guy. GO GO MULDER RUN RUN!!! his voice is all growly while he holds a shadowy figure at gunpoint, but he only runs into a teenager. no! poor kid :(
NOOO… THE KILLER WAS HIDING IN THE BATHROOM AND SCULLY WAS GOING IN THERE TO GET SOME STUFF TO TAKE CARE OF ELLEN!! he smashed her head in the mirror and he starts to goop her until ellen does in fact roll up with a glock. and shoots him in the chest. YES ELLEN I KNEW YOU HAD IT IN YOU <3
so they have him in custody now and his skin is suuuuuuper dry and peeling and nasty. and scully asks what the hell he was doing and he goes on about stuff blah blah blah and then he quotes some italian and she gets freaked and dips. and we end with a hannibal-esque shot of his evil peeling nasty face. and some contemplative music.
so. that was gross.
grossness established. i once again kind of enjoyed this episode. like was i gagging, and not in the good way? yeah i was. but again with the suspense. i think the plot could be absolutely ridiculous- like an actual fat vampire- and if the plot and pacing are the right tempo, i’ll find myself fully absorbed into it.
but i can’t help but feel that i’m missing something. the italian seemed too purposeful. is there some medieval tale of a fat vampire? i’m being so serious btw like actually. is that a reference that flew over my head? is it in dante’s inferno or something? i love history but middle ages europe always puts me to sleep so i can’t say i’m familiar with the literature or tropes beyond what i learned in art history class. where we never covered ANY sort of vampire. just a lot of baby jesus and also mary and sometimes adult jesus.
hmm. so i’m wondering here what that was about. and yeah, i could google it. but again, more fun when you tell me things.
i mean, if it was something they just made up for fun, i get that too. like earlier we had that evil mermaid baby that lived in the waterways. and we had that evil twin that looked like the fiji mermaid. and eugene tooms the lizard man. the seriousness with which the situation is played enhances the campy angle when you ponder it.
overall, it was interesting to see a world where the internet was new and fresh and scary. now it’s scary in mostly familiar ways. but it was not always this way! and while i am a little confused on the concept of the episode itself- who exactly our monster of the week was, if he even WAS a monster of traditional sort of means- i won’t lie, the episode had me invested. there were also moral questions raised about how someone could do something so evil, specifically in relation to scully’s character, which probably speaks to her biggest fear being that anyone could pose a threat, which i think i’ll contemplate at another time, because it is fascinating, especially when you consider… i think it’s s2 episode 13? where the narrative also really dives into this question. how can people do evil things, and how can good people cope with knowing that it’s impossible to know who is capable of doing terrible things?
after a hard day at work in which a million things went sideways, it does feel nice to watch my pals mulder and scully do some sleuthing, no matter the situation in which they find themselves.
the goopsterrrrrrrr

Me: Minding my own business
My Brain, Unprompted: Isn't it really clever how the transformation gimmick in Kamen Rider OOO revolves around these colored disks that are alternately referred to as coins and medals?
Me: Uh...
My Brain: I mean let's look at the connotations here. Coins are money, the domain of greed, coins are only valuable if hoarded in excessive numbers. Medals are signs of exceptionalism, or perhaps even heroism.
Me: Ah, so...
My Brain, constructing an elaborate conspiracy board: The Medals are a metaphor for power! Eiji can ever only use three at a time (barring season finale shenanigans,) and it's about how he utilizes the ability these coins grant him. The Greeed, by contrast, live to hoard. They need every single one of their colored coins to reach their full potential, and a king's ransom of the "colorless" coins to use their powers. This says something about the enduring power of heroism, as Eiji can still Henshin with as little as three coins, and he will because he is a Good Lad, while the Greeed always risk losing more of their coins if engaging with Eiji directly, or by trusting the wrong colleague...
Me: Yeah, I...
My Brain, spinning dangerously fast: This ties in to the very exciting push-and-pull of the story as a Greeed can get their asses kicked seven ways from Sunday and still pull off the W of snatching a colored medal or two when Eiji or Ankh weren't watching, and similarly, a painful stalemate can still turn out to be a net gain for team Kamen Rider by bringing home an extra medal or two.
Me: But how does that tie in with...
My Brain, frenzied: The events around the finale muddies the metaphor somewhat, granted, but I think that's more about Eiji's story. As he approaches the apex of his power, Eijis seemingly simple goal reveals itself to be perhaps too big. Perhaps you can not "save everybody." This is probably propelled along with Sidekick/Friendly Nemesis/Lover(?) Ankh joining his Greed Bretheren and/or dying for a bit there, but there's also shades of that Superman: Red Son "you would put all the world in a bottle" thing. It also mirrors Ankh's realization that maybe being a fully powered Greeed isn't all it's cracked up to be, as their nature requires them to always want more and never be sated.
Me: Huh, there's a Tumblr post in there somewhere...
My Brain: Well I wouldn't post it on bluesky...

if no-one else is gonna dissect n’s room i guess i have to do it myself
this is based purely on the games btw :3
n is about the same age as the rest of the bw protags, perhaps a bit older. estimations and canon information say they’re around 18-20 in bw and 20-22 in the sequels.
n’s room is on the fourth floor of plasma castle. it has purple and white checkerboard walls, and blue and white cloud pattern flooring. the ost plays a melancholic music-box theme, a sharp contrast to the pressure of the orchestral (or as close as the bw soundfont can get) symphony in the castle halls.
the toys in the room are not interactable, but do have text prompts.
an incomplete train set loops around the entrance. “It’s a set of trains and tracks. Has it been played with recently?”
a toy box rests beside the looping train. “This toy box contains pieces of a train set.”
a downsized basketball court takes up half the open floor. the hoop, with a toy train blocking the net, reads: “It’s a home-style basketball hoop…” the basketball on the floor beside it reads: “It’s a basketball that looks like it’s been used a lot. It says Harmonia on it…”
underneath a rotating plane suspended from the ceiling, “A skateboard is resting on a pile of wheels.”
to the right, blocking the back wall and more toy boxes, is a half pipe. “A halfpipe for skateboards… It has Pokémon scratch marks on it here and there…”
the only reachable toy box behind the halfpipe reads, “This toy box is full of new toys…”
on the back wall are three decorations. the leftmost one is a dartboard with several darts stuck to and around it. a frame beside it, hanging crookedly from the wall, reads, “This panel has a dart stuck in it.” the rightmost picture is made up of two shades of purple. “An art panel with a printed geometric pattern.”
n’s room is barely larger than the others we’re able to visit in the castle. the room is childish and colourful, not a bad thing, but definitely not fitting to the king of team plasma or the person who has been so confident in their ideals.
n was adopted by ghetsis when they were small, likely not even 10. they had no knowledge of what was normal or necessary for human children’s development. the world had no knowledge of them either, since ghetsis isolated them from society with only abused pokemon and their sisters or other team plasma members. this castle was underground for years, they were physically and emotionally dependent on people who shared ghestis’s ideals.
children are easy to manipulate. children are easy to mould. children are easy to control. no-one has changed n’s room with their growth because they weren’t supposed to; if n grew and learned and thought, they wouldn’t be the perfect king that team plasma needed. but this room, whimsical and lonely, isn’t a king’s room. n is a figurehead and a symbol. they have no control or duties, their responsibilities end at looking regal. only the people allowed into their room—ghetsis, their sisters, and select other plasma members—see that they are nothing past the garb and speeches that they preach.
aaaaaalso symbolism time!!! once again the castle is underground for the majority of the time it exists but also, please note the layout of the rooms that exist within it. none of the rooms have windows, but most of them do have chimneys. in a normal house, windows, useful or locked, at least allow a person to acknowledge the existence of an outside. since windows are useless in an underground castle, there are none. but that’s not quite true, is it? after all, the point of the construction of plasma’s castle was for it to rise from the dirt and surround the league. most of the rooms have chimneys, which would be nothing but a hazard underground when the smog would have nowhere to vent to. but they have constructed chimneys, because this castle isn’t meant to stay underground forever. n’s room does not have a chimney, or windows. there is nothing connecting their room directly to the outside of the castle.
also, the pattern of the flooring specifically is clouds. the pattern is rote, symmetrical. there are no variations, no deviations. also, this pattern is on the floor. of course, we can’t see the ceiling because of the camera limitations/perspective and the style of the game, but i think putting the sky on the ground is still interesting. because n knows what outside looks like, they grew up in the wilderness for years, enough to learn to understand pokemon. but now, in this castle, they can’t leave. the sky is upside-down and carefully graphed, and part of that is like with the toys to keep n from getting restless, but it also shows how warped their environment has made their view of the outside world. they’ve been told everything they know about society and how it functions, presented like the truth, and have only been given evidence that certified what they’ve been told.
also, a fun bit of colour symbolism. reshiram follows the hero of truth, while zekrom follows the hero of ideals. now here’s the fun part: their colours are swapped. reshiram and truth are black, while zekrom and ideals are white, corresponding with the twin dragon that the protag is able to catch in the story. outside of the dartboard on the back and some lineart, there is no black in n’s room. i don’t care if it was intentional or not, n’s room is a figment of their and the people around them’s ideals, all presented as the truth. but no matter how they present it, no matter what they wrap it in or how they light it, there’s no truth to anything they’ve been given.
also real quick the presented/fake freedom to n’s room parallels the difference between what team plasma is presenting their goals to be and ghetsis’s actual goal of holding power over people
IM BACK also note how the newest toys are shoved in the very very back of the room, almost hidden behind their old ones. they’ve played with the same toys over and over and over because they’ve had nothing else to do. they don’t have crayons or paper or crafts, their entire room is made up of solid unchanging toys. they can rearrange them and look and play from different angles, but there’s fundamentally nothing new they can do with anything. this parallels how the only ideas and ideals n could ever conceptualise were ones literally handed to them growing up. they didn’t have any information or experience to create their own because they didn’t know anything else existed. any new ideas they shoved away and repressed, regardless of how close they were to their own, or who was presenting them to them. nothing new has ever existed for them, not for a very very long time.
OH MY FUCKING GOD I COMPLETELY FORGOT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING there is literally zero (0) furniture in n’s room. no bed, no dressers, absolutely nothing. there are two things i want to point out about this, one to do with n’s position in team plasma and another to do with a bit more symbolism i guess? n’s room isn’t meant to be comfortable, it’s a gilded cage, it’s simply meant to hold them, so that they don’t get restless, so that they don’t leave, so that they play along. they are a puppet leader, plasma grunts obey them because of their figure, but almost all of the major decisions of the team are either from ghetsis or from his manipulation. and ghetsis treats them like a puppet, too. after all, dolls may look human, but they don’t need anything. and n was in a perfect position for not needing anything, since they had no standards of what a human should receive in a healthy household, emotionally or physically.
anyways if i forgot anything whoopie daisy, i’ll add it later or scream about it or something (current edit count: 3). for now let’s just say pokemon won’t be called pokemon anymore after i’m done with ghetsis

Legend of Zelda Theme Park - Gerudo Desert
At long last, I've found a way to add the desert to my theme park!
Tumblr media
At the western end of the Dark World is the entrance to a sandstone canyon which meanders a bit and then debouches onto a lively bazaar. Buildings are constructed from off-white masonry contrasting with brilliantly colored fabrics and mosaics. There are numerous planters containing palm trees and cacti to help direct foot traffic as well as providing bench space and extra shade. Near the center of the plaza is a circular fountain featuring a statue of a woman wielding a sword, surrounded by more vegetation. The outside edge of the area is bounded with facades representing sand dunes, among which can be seen landmarks such as the OoT Desert Colossus and BoTW Gerudo Town. From time to time, an animated figure of a Molduga arches from one sand dune to another like a breaching whale.
Tumblr media
Attractions
Nabooru’s Training Course: A combination maze and obstacle course—periodically, the winding corridors offer an opportunity to hone your skills as an elite bandit…but if you don’t feel up to tackling the balance beam, overhead bars, crawl net, or other physical challenge, a normal path continues alongside the obstacle. This is just the beginners’ course—from time to time, you can peek through to a more advanced course where Gerudo make trapeze-caliber leaps over jets of fire, dodge flying darts, and disable booby traps (or fail to do so!). At the end of the maze is a playground featuring more things to climb and jump in, just in case you had any excess energy left.
Gerudo Warriors’ Procession: Taking place at scheduled intervals in the bazaar, a squad of the Gerudo tribe’s most impressive warriors parade through the street to a stage where they demonstrate some of their combat skills.
Skipper’s Time-Shifted Boat Tour: Inspired by the Lanayru Sand Sea from Skyward Sword, this dark ride uses projection mapping, augmented reality goggles, and a bit of motion simulation to create the illusion of riding in a boat through a desert that has been transformed into an ancient ocean, but only in a set radius around the craft thanks to the aura of the Timeshift Stone. Fantastic corals appear and disappear, long-decayed ships spring back into operation only to wither again as the boat leaves them behind, the bleached bones of sea monsters turn into living threats until the robot guide manages to outrun them. The queue includes a few interactive “windows” where the push of a button activates a Timeshift Stone to alter a scene—a massive tree reverts to a tiny sapling in a meadow, a crumbled ruin becomes a bustling fortress in its heyday, etc.
Sand-Seal Rally Race: A high-speed ride along a figure-eight racing track, in a seal-drawn “sand sled.” Watch out when you get to the crossing point—don’t crash with another sled!
Shops
5. Silken Palace: Scarves, shawls, capelets, veils, and other free-flowing clothing and accessories made from scrumptiously colored and patterned fabrics…even sarees! Knowledgeable staff can show how to properly put on your purchases if you need help.
6. Hotel Oasis Spa Shop: A health and beauty shop featuring LoZ-inspired makeup palettes, custom-blended perfumes and colognes, bath salts, soaps, scrubs, massage oils, and other products to pamper your skin after a long day in the desert.
7. Starlight Memories: A jewelry boutique specializing in big, showy styles of earrings, bracelets, necklaces, brooches, and even diadems. Many pieces are inspired by the traditional jewelry styles of the Middle East and South Asia.
8. Sand-Seal Adoption Center: The Sand-Seal Rally Race exits through this shop specializing in plush toys of sand seals and other desert creatures both real and fanciful, with an optional “adoption ceremony” for your special new friend.
9. Miscellaneous Merchandise Booths: Small spaces leased out to small business retailers whose wares are in line with the overall “vibe” of the Bazaar.
Eateries
10. Gerudo Bistro: A café with well-shaded patio seating, featuring a menu of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern entrees and appetizers.
11. Arbiter’s Grounds: An Arabian/Persian/Turkish style coffee and tea bar, harking back to the ancient relationship with coffee enjoyed by the cultures that inspired the Gerudo. Brews are available hot, iced, flavored, even blended with ice cream for a perky smoothie. Or head next door…
12. Kara Kara Creamery: Beat the heat with frozen treats! Ice cream, frozen yogurt, sherbet, milkshakes, and smoothies are all available here, made to order. If you’re with a group, try the Seven Heroines Sundae, with seven “orbs” of different flavors reflecting the virtues prized by the Gerudo: skill, spirit, endurance, knowledge, flight, motion, and gentleness.

Chapter 22: Naak (Second Chances - Hunter x reader)
Naak. n. peace
Chapter summary: You begin to adapt to life on Pabu.
Chapter warnings: fluffffffff with a sprinkle of angst (because I can't not); seriously this is mostly fluff
Word Count: 2,816
A/N: alright friendos, we're approaching the final arc here. I am going to be traveling next weekend, so Chapter 23 will be posted no later than Sept. 10, but hopefully before then to keep us on the regular posting schedule. I appreciate all of your patience and understanding
< Previous chapter | Next chapter >
Tumblr media
Today marks the beginning of your second week on Pabu. Since that first night on the beach with Hunter, the pair of you have thrown yourselves into building a home here. During the day, Omega attends school, finally getting a chance to interact with children her own age. She spends most evenings with Lyana. Wrecker, Tech, Hunter, and you make yourselves useful in whatever way you can: cataloging artifacts in the Archium, constructing new buildings, hauling fishing nets, organizing supplies—any task that requires extra hands, you’re all there. You’re determined to earn your keep on this island. Everyone helps everyone here; none of you are quite used to it yet, but the more time you spend under the sweltering tropical sun, the more at ease you begin to feel.
So far, you’ve been sleeping in the Marauder and Redthorn until your new homes are completed. When they’re ready, you’ll have three thatch-roofed houses with individual bedrooms, communal living areas, kitchens, and rudimentary ’freshers. More of a home than you’ve ever had before.
Wiping the sweat from your brow, you groan softly as you straighten your back. Today’s task so far has been to move supply crates from Lower Pabu to Upper Pabu where they’ll be more secure. Shep had mentioned a few days back of the possibility of quakes and floods. By moving the supplies to the higher ground, behind the retaining wall, there will be less stress on the entire community in the event of a disaster.
Your shoulders ache. But you relish in the soreness, knowing that it’s for a good cause, satisfied in the knowledge that you’ve done something for the betterment of more than just yourself. At the very least, the sea breeze rarely abates on the island; your sweat dries, the wind wicking away the excess warmth you’ve worked yourself into.
“That’s the last of it,” says Mako, one of Shep’s advisors. Like Shep, he’s a large man, imposing in his stature, but kind and patient to a fault. His eyes crinkle into smile lines. “Take the rest of the day. Tomorrow we’ll survey the wall for weaknesses.”
With a two-finger salute, you sigh in relief. Thankfully, you’re already in Upper Pabu; the ships aren’t too far of a walk from here. You need a shower, some shade, and water.
You’re beginning to recognize faces, smiling and waving at passersby as they lope down the winding streets past you. Their names blend together, but you know with time, you’ll learn them all, come to value them as dearly as you do your squad.
You catch a glimpse of a bright red bandana turning a corner up the road. Well, you think, maybe not as dearly, you think, gazing after Hunter. A smile dances over your lips, threatening to burst forth.
Ever since that first night on the beach, the two of you have been nearly inseparable. Only when you’re assigned separate tasks, like today, do you spend any significant amounts of time apart. At night, after dinner and once Omega is asleep, the pair of you slip away to explore another corner of the island. You’ve walked the entire shoreline perimeter under the light of the moon, discovered caves that delved into darkness within the island bedrock, and meandered through neighborhoods to chat with other residents.
Lengthening your stride, you ignore the burn in your calves as you scale the gently sloping street. Some of the landmarks are familiar and catch your attention. Two large, potted plants bookend a bench that overlooks the ocean, providing a wonderful sunset vista. As the street narrows into a mere footpath, the cobblestones transition into stepping stones, nestled within a bed of verdant grass with tiny white blooms. And there’s the cluster of palm trees you’d noted on your second day, where you’d love to hang up a hammock and snooze.
You realize with a pleasant jolt where you are.
Breaking into a jog, you round the corner and grin. Ahead, at the end of the path, the three new homes under construction for the squad sit with gleaming plaster and lattice-work verandas. Their front doors face a shared courtyard.
And standing in the center, his back to you, arms crossed and hip cocked, is Hunter.
His head turns as you approach, breathless. “Off early?”
“Would have been done sooner,” you say, catching your breath, “if Wrecker had been assigned to help instead of fish.”
“He likes to fish,” Hunter says with a chuckle. The sound lightens your heart.
You hum. “Do you like to build?”
“I like working with my hands,” he says.
He uncrosses his arms and holds his hands up, fingers splayed, as if to show them off. You can’t help but appreciate the corded muscle beneath his tanned skin, the lines of his skeleton tattoo rippling as he turns his hands over. Not for the first time, you’re selfishly grateful that Pabu boasts a tropical climate. Your armor and the boys’ blacks are too suffocating for long-term wear here.
Instead, the locals had been more than happy to pass along some of their older clothing. Well worn, and well loved, it all fits nonetheless. Hunter’s shirt sleeves end before his elbows today, and the collar dips in a small V.
Standing in front of him, you gently run your fingertips over the lines of his palms. His gray eyes flutter shut at the sensation, and you take a moment to gaze, unabashed. Being here, even for just a week, has been kind to him. His face still carries evidence of stress, but the furrow between his brow has been nearly nonexistent since you arrived, and his shoulders aren’t held quite so high, the tension in them drained.
“I was thinking,” you begin. When his eyes blink open, you trail off, distracted.
He squeezes your hands. “You were thinking?”
“Right.” You duck your head. “Maybe we could go exploring while it’s still light out. I want to check out those caves.”
The sun still has a few hours before it will begin its daily descent towards the western horizon. You chew the inside of your cheek while he ponders the suggestion. His eyes survey the three homes around you for a moment, before flicking back to yours with a nod.
“Lunch first,” he says. “Then exploring.”
“Yes, sarge,” you tease, bumping him with your shoulder as you lead the way back down the footpath. He chuckles. He snags your hand and twines your fingers together, warm skin against warm skin, and you sigh in contentment.
You wander back down through Lower Pabu. While there are no restaurants of the type you’re used to seeing, a few of the residents do run small stores: a bakery, two caf shops, an apothecary, a smithy. You hadn’t realized how hungry you actually are until Hunter mentioned food, but now, you let your nose lead you. The sweet scents of freshly baked bread and ripe fruit waft to you on the breeze, setting your mouth watering.
The bakery is run by a kindly older woman with flour-dusted features and sun-wrinkled skin. She smiles at you both as you hesitate on the doorstep of her small home. After a moment of wracking your brain, you recall her name.
Gesturing, she says, “Please, come in, come in. What can I do for you?”
“Hi, Gerta,” you say, inclining your head. Your gaze sweeps over the loaves of bread, platter of cookies, and jars of jam. Stomach rumbling, you resist the impulse to get one of everything. Instead, you point at the neat pyramid of sweet rolls and a jar of meiloorun jelly. “Can we get a few rolls and the jam? And some water, please.”
Gerta shuffles behind the counter and rolls out a cloth, onto which she lays the requested items. From below the counter, she retrieves a jug of water, the ceramic already sweating. Peering through wrinkled skin, she appraises Hunter. “Anything for you, dear?”
“A cookie,” he says. “How much?”
With a chuckle, Gerta shakes her head. “You’ll learn soon enough.”
“Oh, right.” Hunter rubs the back of his neck with his free hand, his other squeezing around yours. You squeeze back in a show of support. None of you have adjusted fully to the absence of credits here; exchanges are made on a barter system, gifts made in kind or services promised at a future date. Hunter continues, “What can I help with then?”
She points behind you. The upper support of the wooden door jamb sags, its original moorings having come loose, likely from the wood swelling in the humidity.
“Fix that for me,” Gerta says, smiling again, “and we’ll call it even. My strength just isn’t what it used to be, and my son hasn’t had the time to fix it.”
“Got a hammer?” Hunter asks.
She hefts one up from behind the counter. While Hunter busies himself with the repair, you lean against the counter. “Your son work a lot, Gerta?”
“Ah, my boy has always been a busy bee,” she says. “He’s gone and made himself useful to the island, working on the water wall and ensuring we all have enough supplies.”
You blink. “You mean Mako.”
“That’s him.” Gerta sighs as she folds up your food. “I am proud of him, you know. But Pabu has always been too small for him.”
Eyes trailing down Hunter’s lean form where he reaches up with the hammer, pounding the door jamb back into place, you can only hum in acknowledgement. Gerta doesn’t seem to mind. She gently pushes the neatly tied bundle across the counter to you, sliding the jug as well. A moment later, Hunter reappears at your elbow. He passes Gerta the hammer.
“Thank you, dearie,” she says, patting his face. You have to stifle a chuckle at the powdery white handprint left overtop of his tattoo. His eyebrows shoot up in surprise at her gesture. “See you ’round now.”
“Thanks, Gerta,” you say with a bow. Collecting your food, you nudge Hunter to follow. He murmurs a belated ‘thank you’ as he follows.
As soon as you’re out of her earshot, he shakes his head with a grimace. He wipes his face, only about half of the flour coming off. “Things are...so different here.”
Nodding, you sigh. “A good kind of different, but still different.”
You walk in relative silence the rest of the way to the beach, speaking only to greet folks as they call out to you. Hunter’s hand rests in the small of your back, a gentle but persistent presence. It occurs to you all over again how changed your relationship with Hunter is now. The transparency between you laid the foundation, sure, but between your run-ins with the Empire and the soft, lulling melody of Pabu’s beaches, you’ve begun building a life together. Before Iridonia, there were times where you couldn’t fathom what he was thinking, the feelings he hid behind the stoic mask he donned. Now, though, all you have to do is glance and you can tell where his mind is.
Like right now. His thoughts are elsewhere, despite the reassuring circles he rubs with his thumb on your back.
“Hunter?” you ask, quiet, as you step beyond the boundaries of Lower Pabu to the beach proper.
He blinks as if coming up for air. “The houses should be done by tomorrow.”
“W— Really?”
Nodding, he smiles down at you. “You can have the first pick of which one you want.”
“Wherever you are.” The words slip out before you can stop them, before you can even process what you’re insinuating.
Hunter’s hand slips from your back around your waist and tugs you against his side. He presses a chaste kiss to the side of your head. “I thought you might say that.”
Flushing with embarrassment and excitement, you shrug against him. “And are you okay with that?”
“I...” He sighs, gently guiding you down the beach towards the caves. “Omega’s not the only clone who didn’t have her own room. None of us did. I think I’d like to have my own room, at least for a little while, see what it’s like.”
Gentle smile curling over your lips, you nod. “I understand. I’m excited for you. For all of you.”
“Thank you, cyare,” he says, and the depth of emotions in his voice plucks at your heartstrings.
Within another few minutes, you reach the caves that you’d spotted just a few nights ago. Tall and jagged, the arching entranceways loom far overhead and plunge deep into the sand ahead of you. But to your rising dismay, they are shallow, barely worthy of being called caves. ‘Alcoves’ might be a more apt term. You halt in your tracks, grimacing at the rocky formations before you.
“These looked cooler at night,” you say flatly.
Hunter laughs, throwing his head back, his teeth bared in a wide smile. You can’t help but chuckle, gazing fondly at his open expression of mirth.
“Picnic?” he suggests.
You nod. “Picnic.”
The day isn’t a total loss, at least. You do lose track of time. On the beach, your heartbeat matches the pulse of the ocean, the salty air clinging to your skin as you lounge with Hunter, meal of rolls and jelly long since devoured. At some point, he shifts to lay his head in your lap, and your fingers instinctively bury into his curls, twirling silken strands idly as you bask in each other’s company.
Shivering in the cool night air, the sun having set about an hour ago, you turn your face up, tracing patterns between the stars that litter the sky. Somewhere out there is Coruscant, and Iridonia, and Ord Mantell, and thousands of other planets you’ve never seen and probably never will. You exhale a shaky breath. Suddenly you feel very, very small, an ant in a giant’s terrarium.
“Cyare?” Hunter says.
“I’m here,” you murmur. “Just...” You gesture helplessly up to the stars, words failing you.
“I know,” he says. “During the war... I mentioned to you the other night our success rate, yeah?”
You nod. “One hundred percent.”
“Failure was not in our vocabulary,” he says, voice soft, thoughtful. “The mere thought of failure was unthinkable. More than that. It was unknowable.”
Methodically stroking his hair, you keep your gaze on the heavens, eyes drinking in the light of billions of stars.
“You could only see the stars on Kamino every few months,” he continues. “When the storms stopped. I remember the first time I caught a glimpse of the galaxy that I’d be fighting for. I was young. A few months out of the growth tube, at most, but I already understood my place in the galaxy and what was expected of me. Of us.
“I remember feeling...tiny. Inconsequential. ‘How are we supposed to protect all of that,’ I remember thinking. I must have hidden in the barracks for hours afterwards.” He chuckles. “It was too much for my brain to comprehend at the time.”
“And what about now?” you ask, softly, no louder than the waves breaking just a few dozen feet away.
You feel him shrug. “I dunno. I— I’m proud of my service for the Republic, but I’ve also seen enough death and carnage to last any normal person three lifetimes.”
Understanding dawns on you like the sun: hot and uncomfortable and it makes you want to hide. “Without the war, you wouldn’t exist.”
“But should there have been a war in the first place?”
You lapse into silence once more. Piecing together what little you know, what little he’s confided in you this past week, your chest feels tight. Republic, Empire; Chancellor, Emperor: the entire galaxy just feeds the great machine of politics and power, and the clones, every single one of them, are the cogs that make the machine run.
“Do you think Echo is okay?” you murmur.
Hunter reaches up and, gently clasping your chin between his thumb and forefinger, tilts your face down to meet his gaze. In the dark, his eyes are pinpricks of light. “I’m sure he’s fine.”
“We should make sure he has a room,” you say, “in one of the houses. For when he comes back.”
“He will, cyare.” Hunter sits up and tugs you into his chest. You hug him tight; his hands tremble where they rest against your body. You’re not sure if his words mean that Echo will have a room, or if he’ll come back, or both, but they ease some of the existential dread welling in your heart. Kriff, no wonder Echo left. His brothers are out there, pawns in a game they had no say in joining. Your thoughts flit to Crosshair. Where is he right now? Has he tried to get out?
You and Hunter remain on the beach, locked in one another’s embrace, until the sun rises again.

Kyrie Irving ANTA Kai 1
Tumblr media
Yo, did you catch Kyrie Irving's comeback game in Brooklyn? Dude dropped a jaw-dropping 36 points against the Nets, and while everyone was hyped about his performance, sneakerheads couldn't stop talking about his kicks. Remember how he left Nike in '22? Well, he's teamed up with ANTA now, and they just unveiled his first signature shoe since the split.
As ANTA's chief creative officer, Kyrie's been cooking up something special, and he finally gave us a peek at the ANTA Kai 1. Man, this shoe is fire! The synthetic upper's got this sick knit construction on the toe box and midfoot window, and there's a strap across the laces for that lockdown feel. And check out the colorway - they're calling it "Artist on Court." It's got these dope purple and pink shades, with pops of neon green and gold, and the sole's got that clean off-white vibe.
But here's the kicker: we still don't know when these bad boys are hitting the streets or how much they'll cost. Keep your ear to the ground, though, 'cause the ANTA Kai 1 in the "Artist on Court" colorway is definitely gonna make waves when it drops later this year.

The Latest Collecting Craze: Antique Lamps!
Antique porcelain lamps can be oil lamps or electric lamps,The Latest Collecting Craze: Antique Lamps! Articlessimply depending on when they were made and for what market. Some of these antique lamps are oil burning lamps. The most commonly click here to learn more recognized antique oil lamps are built with a large globe on the bottom and a smaller globe on top. Most of these are very decorative, with both globes painted, usually with floral designs.
Electric antique porcelain lamps are typically of a table lamp style, but are still well known for having painted designs and patterns on one or both globes. There is a wide and varied assortment of antique lamps that can be purchased from 'Net sites, antique stores, or even (sometimes) at yard or garage sales. These lamps may be oil or electric, plain or fancy, but are almost always high quality, as well as a lovely addition to a room or house.
One of the most enduringly popular of all of the types of antique lamps is the banker's lamp. A bankers lamp is normally constructed of a brass post with a green or blue glass shade. Today, the green shades are most common in reproduction lamps, but the blue shades were as common in the original type.
Antique porch lamps, which are very popular with designers today, were originally used not on porches, but in carriages. Carriage lamps were mostly made of brass, wrought iron, or wood, and were mounted on the carriage doors or side walls. The sturdy construction and design of the carriage lamps makes them well suited to their modern use as porch lights. They are usually seen mounted on either side of a door.
The antique torchiere lamp, the antique brass floor lamp, and the antique art deco lamp are some of the more modern antique lamps that are still very popular today. Torchiere lamps are very useful and easy to place, because they provide indirect bright light to a room or area without the trouble of installing overhead fixtures. Most antique lamps are quite ornate and beautiful, since they were considered to be a design feature, not just an appliance.

How did you get Haruka’s idol outfit to shine Like That? I can almost feel it under my fingertips and hear the rustling. I know you posted that a long time ago (in Internet time) but its stayed with me.
It was with the love I hold for my beloved daughter 💖
But hee hee some notes on the illust :^) I may have over explained it lol
My main source of reference was from this collection of photographs by kemmiethecat on instagram!
Tumblr media
I wanted this dress to be reminiscent of her outfit for So Much More and I combined it with 80s (?) aesthetics to match the aesthetic of film photography. I used the photographs to get an idea of how the sleeves, bodice, and gloves would fit on her. Even though her gown would be white, I wanted to add interest to it and I figured the best way to color and shade it while retaining the look of a white wedding gown was to make the fabric look iridescent/pearlescent. I kinda winged it on the color choices and placement, though…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I chose a pink similar to the background (bc I was going for a teen magazine concept as well and the bright pink made her and the gown stand out), a purple-ish blue for the shadows, and some yellows to transition into the bright whites because I thought the combination would work the best. It’s mostly a vibes-based decision for me, but if we wanted to be technical about it, it’s bc of color theory!
Tumblr media
I followed how the values of the fabric from the references and lightly mapped out where the colors would be placed, keeping in mind how it’d be affected by what was closest to it. Admittedly, I kinda wanna go back and make the colors more consistent so that fabric-fabric -> blue, skin-fabric-> pink, highlights from the “flash”-> yellows and whites. But it is what it is! After that, I just blended to what suited the fabric while using the references.
I wanted the gloves to stand out since it’s framing Haruka’s face and considering it’s satin, it’d shine and react more with light and color as opposed to her dress, which is more matte. Because of that, the gloves ended up having more shifts in color compared to the dress and the instances of the bright white appearing front and center combined with the highlights of Haruka’s face all harmonized to give off the feeling of each fabric. The same goes with her veil and the ruffles of her dress, where I added some texture to give off the look of netting you’d see in tulle.
Tumblr media
Generally, whenever I make illustrations where the outfit is an important aspect of it, I put extra care into how it’s rendered and constructed. Partly because it tends to be the focal point, but also because I liked watching Project Runway and Say Yes To The Dress in the past, so I have some interest in fashion because of that and it reflects in my art from time to time lol.
I also like to add that while I did have references, I didn’t follow each fold precisely. To me, it’s impossible and not worth copying how the fabric creases and folds exactly so long as I get the general flow of it, like where the creases focus on, how it glides, etc. Same with the color! My personal outlook on using references is that it’s a general outline, not a step by step instruction, if that makes any sense, lol!
In short:
References used -> Pose, Outfit, Values, Color Palette (Somewhat), ✨Aesthetic ✨
Vibes of color! (Color theory)
Contrast of different textures of each fabric in the outfit as well as her skin and hair
My interest in fashion makes me wanna make sure to depict fabrics as best as I can, especially when it’s the focus of the illustration.
I use references when I can, but I don’t stress about it being a perfect match, I focus on it being as best it can to me
It’s also a result of me figuring out what I like and wanna do bc sometimes reality doesn’t look as good and we have to take artistic liberty sometimes! There isn’t a fabric that exists like this in the real world, and the closest are iridescent organza or sequins. Usually there’s green present in it, but I didn’t use it here bc I didn’t feel like it since I usually don’t use greens in my art unless I have to ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (Sorry, lovers of the color green!!)
I hope that helps? I feel like I definitely overexplained some aspects, but teehee idk I just like talking about color even tho I forgor some of the terms for it LMFAOOO I just think colors are pretty, same with clothes, and my beloved daughter, Haruka ^_^💖

Anastasia the Musical Dowager Empress and Countess Lily Costumes
Dowager Empress Prologue
When the Dowager Empress gives the music box to young Anastasia, she wears a dark purple patterned coat with fur and a large hat. The coat is designed to look like one dress, however the actual construction is a separate top and skirt. She wears a silver wig in an Edwardian updo. In the Japanese productions her wig is black.
Tumblr media
(Alison Ewing, First National Tour)
Dowager Empress Prologue End
As the Dowager Empress receives news of the execution of her family, she is wearing the same skirt as at the start of the prologue and a simple white Edwardian bodice and broach.
Tumblr media
(Masha Karell, Stuttgart)
Countess Lily Act One
Since Countess Lily does not appear until act two, the actress in most productions plays several ensemble roles in act one. Most productions have this same outfit for Lily to wear as a base under ensemble outer pieces (though very often productions simply have the Lily actress wear the usual ensemble costumes). It is a white peasant blouse with a red overskirt and necklace. Her wig updo lacks the curls of act two.
Tumblr media
(Lucy Horton, First National Tour)
Countess Lily Dressing Gown
Countess Lily’s first scene is in an apartment in Paris, warding off visitors for the Dowager Empress before she prepares to head off to the Neva Club. She is wearing a black and red dressing gown in light silk. Occasionally it is structured as a black skirt with a shorter black and red dressing gown. Her wig features tight ringlet curls and generally is a reddish shade.
Tumblr media
(Vicki Lewis, Broadway)
Dowager Empress Close the Door
The Dowager Empress appears in this song in a thick dressing gown, which can be any shade between gray, black, or pale purple. Her wig is styled with a braid over her shoulder, and some productions that give her silver hair in the prologue change her hair to white for the rest of the show. She also has begun using a cane.
Tumblr media
(Mary Beth Peil, Broadway)
Countess Lily Neva Club
In the Neva Club, Lily wears a silky gold dress with short sleeves to dance in. She wears it with fingerless black lace gloves and a gold and black feathered coat which she removes when she first arrives. She wears this costume throughout Land of Yesterday and Countess and the Common Man.
Tumblr media
(Left: Lucy Horton, First National Tour. Right: Silvia Luchetti, Madrid)
Countess Lily Ballet
During the ballet, Lily wears a silk evening gown in shades of autumn. It appears mostly gold onstage and has very dramatic sleeves which can very slightly in construction between productions. Some productions will also have a black netting over the body of the dress. Her accessories include gold jewelry, white gloves, and a black fan.
Tumblr media
(Vicki Lewis, Broadway)
Dowagers Empress Ballet
For the ballet, the Dowager Empress wears a very Edwardian evening gown, a more old fashioned style. It is black in color as she is still mourning her family. It has a very long train and is worn with a feather boa. Other than the black color and Edwardian silhouette, the actual design of the dress varies greatly between productions, with some including gold accents on the dress. The Dowager Empress wears her hair up again from this point in the show, the the style is not quite as large as in the prologue, which is a slightly more Gibson Girl style.
Tumblr media
(Sarah Statler, Second National Tour)
Countess Lily Press Conference
Lily appears here in a day dress. It is green velvet with long sleeves and a high, draped neck. Some productions have shades of brown in the velvet or some type of accent at the waist.
Tumblr media
(Madeline Raube, Second National Tour)
Dowager Empress Finale
The Dowager Empress is wearing a light purple Edwardian dress to speak to Anya and make her statement to the press. Generally it is a plain button down dress with a patterned bodice and overskirt, though the pattern varies between productions. Details include white lace at the collar and epaulettes. She does not always use her cane with this costume.

I am obligated to traipse around my neighborhood because I don’t have a fenced yard for my dog.
He has yet to meet another dog, person, cat, deer, crow, seagull or wind blown plastic bag rolling that he doesn’t demand to make its acquaintance.
Even before my dog took up residence 3 years ago I generally walked my neighborhood nearly daily. Becoming familiar with the random bits and bobs that stick out the landscape and signify stories to be told.
Some are permanently inscribed on the landscape like the slogan at the Goodwill - something about changing lives- which on reflection, is probably more of a C suite net gain- there’s a story for sure at Goodwill that things are not as they seem.
Some are more temporary. Like the older model full size made out of real metal truck with the mangled passenger side headlight surround that’s been jacked together with spray foam, wire and ingenuity. That has see through parts but somehow still gives the impression of solid state construction. It’s a story of Detroit, shade tree homegrown know how and make it work fixedness.
Some are ephemeral but seem to have a bigger backstory. Like the discarded pee stick from a home pregnancy test lying a few feet from the garbage cans that weren’t put away from yesterday’s trash pick up. There’s a couple of kids bikes leaned up on the garage where the cans belong and there’s that sense that nobody is home.
Those sticks that herald life altering news seem to be important if not sacred- that after use are solemnly disposed of no matter the result. They are a keepsake (if only for a moment) of hope or conversely a confirmation of a regretted reality. Even so they represent a very private knowledge of a singularly personal experience. So the used test stick in the liminal dirt between garbage receptacle and home where children reside that lays forgotten and exposed to wind and rain says what?
What stories can be imagined as true that give context and meaning to this pregnancy test that has fulfilled its designed purpose? My mind wanders and fixes on sad stories of resignation and duty. Of stories that prominently underwrite a theme of “what ever else will happen” ? Stories that shadow impending generational sadness and illustrate cracks in the greater social fabric.

Top Applications of Knitted Polyester Fabric in Fashion and Beyond
Tumblr media
Knitted polyester fabric is a game-changer in the textile industry because it’s lightweight, stretchy, and works for so many things. From clothes to home decor and even industrial uses, this fabric is everywhere. Let’s dive into how knitted polyester fabric is being used in different areas and why so many people choose it.
1. Fashion Apparel
One of the biggest uses of knitted polyester fabric is in making clothes. It’s soft, tough, and keeps its shape even after a lot of washing. Here’s where it’s commonly used:
T-Shirts and Tops: The fabric is breathable, stretchy, and comfortable, making it perfect for casual wear. Plus, it holds vibrant colors really well.

Legend of Zelda Theme Park - Gerudo Desert (UPDATED)
