Day 27: Victory

A touched up Ys’arial story, featuring Shaadren @mad-maddie

The moon shone brightly over the forests of Teldrassil, its silver light cast shadows along the shoreline of Lake Al'Ameth as a light breeze caressed the treetops and shifted the leaves. Another beautiful night for the Kaldorei, though it was far from a peaceful night for some. Near the edge of one of the pools, two elven women were locked in combat, each holding the other half an arm’s length away. The air surrounding them was as tense as any battle ground; silver eyes locked onto violet ones as they sat apart from each other, elbows resting on a wooden table, engaged in a contest of strength and for one in particular, pride. After all, anyone that lost an arm wrestling match to a Highborne arcanist, well it would be many weeks before they could hold their head high again.

Lady Miri'nal had more important matters on her mind besides the pride of a one Shaadren Sharpthorn however. Their friendship was a twist of fate that neither had foreseen. Now, Ys'arial was silently berating herself for taking part in such uncouth and common displays as this. “Fortunately, there is no one lurking around to witness this” she thought to herself as she had given up on playing fair by now and was straining to use both arms, glaring at Shaadren’s smug look. Ys'arial knew from the moment it was suggested this was a horrid idea, knew from that same moment that this was a lost venture, and yet she had allowed herself to be goaded into an arm wrestling match with an outrunning, gluttonous forest hermit. “I wonder when she last bathed. Honestly, she could at least pick the dirt out from under her nails. I suppose I shall have to lend her a proper nail grooming set and…”

The sound of flesh hitting wood and a faint feeling of pain snapped Ys'arial out of her thoughts. She gazed down at her arm as it was pinned in an inevitable defeat. Sparing Shaadren a look of annoyance as the latter leaned back grinning, Ys'arial rubbed her hand ruefully before scoffing disdainfully. With but a thought she cast an enchantment. “Victory never does come without a price my friend” she mused as she sat and waited to see how long it would take Shaadren to notice that her furs and armor were now dyed a bright orange color. She smiled as she made herself invisible, blending into the shadows. Common or not, she did so enjoy these visits.

Niala is going to have a hay day with the night bourne buddy faction. Like. “Yo, dude. You remember that time before the Sundering when that thing happened?” “Yes, cousin elf, that was quite grand! Let’s talk magic!” “Okay!” Old people just talking about the days of their youth. Totally gonna be legit. Also. @mad-maddie, can we go naga killing together? Niala will just be soooo excited to do elf things in Legion. Angry huntress is the perfect companion for Niala for a lot of murder cause they’re both old! Niala needs some pre-Sundering friend to chat with about all these old people lore and enemy things. :x
