Hiiii everyone!! This is my first ever post abt my new sewing sticks!! Also known as Ami Sticks ☺️💕 I’ve decided to start making them myself and selling them in my stores!! Kurvitz stresses that Kim doesn't actually have a character sheet hidden in Disco Elysium's code. Imagining that Lieutenant Kitsuragi has only one natural attribute point in Motorics helps the ZA/UM team to understand the depth of his character beyond what's referenced in the game's dialogue. "We just came up with this stuff for coherency," says Kurvitz. "And because we're nerds."

"I like to think Kim has a Thought Cabinet project called Revolutionary Aerostatic Brigades that he's worked on since he was a teenager," Kurvitz says. "This raises the learning caps for his Reaction Speed and Interfacing."

Kim's high Volition skill makes him impervious to prying, Kurvitz says, as the detective can find out on occasions being met with Kim's brick-wall resolve. Kim often chastises these whims of the detective's, but will occasionally play along. The Lieutenant finds his new partner funny, says Kurvitz.

Kim is naturally shit at Motorics and thinks Harry is funny source

#THE GUY WHO SO MANY THOUGHT WAS THE MISSING MOTORICS BUILD IS BAD AT THEM #and thinks cop types are stupid <3 #the bajillion points in authority make even more sense. he probably has a lot of natural points in the purple skills?#(addition: so empathy too T_T !!!)#so this means he had to put a lot of points in composture on purpose. and had to learn how to sew and repair motorcarriages the hard way?#the interfacing learning cap is higher but he still had to put points in it to have more than 1 #his perception is abysmal and it stayed so #his hand/eye coordination is also bad. his shooting posture is horrible. so i'm going to go fucking insane because for a while this aspect of malenia's character design has been bothering me and making me think I'm seeing things and going fucking crazy.

the aspect in question is malenia's left arm:

when i first saw malenia's arm my first thought was oh okay they're probably just bandages or some sort of wraps.

but then you look a bit closer and like

idk about you (because i might be losing it) but it seems like the mesh of whatever the fuck that is very clearly melded with her skin in a way/it looks like it's going into and then emerging out of her skin (which is HORRIFYING to think of I won't lie).

and once again i thought i was going crazy and seeing things because surely these were just meant to be wraps or bandages like the ones we see in the scene of her fighting radahn right?

and then the thought of the needle came to my mind. along with something malenia says in her cutscene before we fight her.

"my flesh was dull gold"

huh. now isn't that interesting.

this would imply that in order to stall the rot from consuming his sister, miquella made a plan to sew unalloyed gold into malenia's skin using his needle in a last-ditch attempt to save her arm.

(granted it's funnier to imagine he just sticks it in her arm and goes okay great all done! and that's probably the canon way it went but)

the thought of the sheer pain malenia must've gone through during this process, to be honest, and the thought of the guilt miquella must've felt at having to force his sister to endure even more agony just to help her is just sad.

and all of it is done just in an attempt to salvage what they can of her and hope that more can't be taken.

edit: btw when looking at malenia pre-bloom and pre-losing her needle it looks like there's a proper layer/cover/whatever it is around her arm up till her knuckles making it seem like an actual covering or layer on top of her skin and what not, but when we fight her post-bloom and post-losing needle it appears like some of the layers have either flaked or fallen away and that reveals that it's actually meshed with/into her skin.

tbh the most fun thing about going into different fiber art hobbies has been seeing all the little specialized tools some use that others don't (but imo should). like what do you mean cross stitching has 'needle minders' that are like these cute little magnets you put on your project to stick your needle onto??? in sewing we have stuffed tomato plushies for pins and needles, but this is so cute too??? I always lose my needles, I should get more cute accessories like this

#i continue to flex my tailor’s era #sewing rulers #french curve ruler #neckhole ruler #a classmate of mine have these really fancy rulers that works perfectly for bigger body proportions #compared to the ones we were able to find in the beginning of classes #those were licherally made out of cardboard (i already accidentally bent my hip curve in half *cry*#instead of buying some online..we traced the fancy ruler on thick sintraboard and cut/sanded those out #our instructor requested me to paint her rulers #specifally with some anime on it 😂😂😂#im just gonna print these gorlies on a vinyl sticker and stick em on the rulers hahahah #im struggling what to do with the thinner curved rulers #anyways this is my lil parting/graduation gift to her

also by "tweaks" i mean annihilating poor Stitch from the picture since i wasnt happy with how he turned out but here they all are individually

#my art #i like stitch a lot as a character but he always gets the short end of the stick when im drawing him #something about his face #ive been debating the idea of renaming stitch and seam twill and satin respectively #because the series is called stitch in the ditch for the sewing technique but stitch is also a character #its like if 'sonic adventure' was called 'sonic floating facedown in a drainage pond'#since not only is stitch in the title but also he is- and this is imparative #in a ditch somewhere

im gonna redo her pendant (too big) and probably the fluffy neck thing (not enough folds) also her hat was hell on earth to do and is still have to put the gold bits on it 👍

ELABORATE. ELABORATE FUCKING SHITPOST. That I simultaneously put WAY too much effort/thought into, while just. Giving up and half-assing it near the end LMFAOO

This was. An extremely funny characterization realization moment for me though, writing something else w Mani. The thought of, "Wait why the fuck does it have the same exact cadence of the Green M&M post???"

working on a few embroidered pins to wear to pride

#i have a uniform so i really wanted some little symbols i could stick around easily #free palestine #palestinian sunbird #i wanted to make a lot to hand out to people but grossly underestimated how long embroidery takes once again #i think next time i’m going to try sewing small swatches of fabric as the flag instead to streamline the process #that way i can make lots

Time for another traditional embroidery mend! This time, we're trying out the Puncetto Valsesiano stitch, which, after I finished this up, I've found, is an entire style of needlelace! For this patch, though, we just did stitch after stitch after stitch, no fancy patterning. (I might do fancy patterning later, to be fair! been reading up on things, and I've got a few smaller repairs to make that would suit it quite nicely!)

One row of stitches in, and I was thinking, oh this can't be so bad! this is actually quite soothing, all these repetitive actions, and with such a delightful, knitting-like texture!

This many stitches in, and sure, I'm still having a good time, but mostly, I'm finding out how much thread this takes! Poor razz, @razzmatazic, I thought this was going to be a simple, small patch, so I borrowed her thread to work on this one! You can't quite tell in this shot, but I'm actually about to run out of thread!

After likely much, much more fuss than was strictly necessary, including accidentally picking a slightly different color of floss because of some mislabeled strands, noticing I'd dropped enough stitches to need to throw some extra ceylon stitching in a gap, and a probably pretty noticable shift in texture because of single vs. double threading, we've got ourselves a patch that, even despite its shortcomings, I really dig the look of!

Unfortunately, I didn't make this patch wide enough generally, so I've got a few more holes that'll be getting filled by a big 'ol sashiko patch that's going to layer overtop the puncetto, eventually! Stay tuned, I'm just as curious as you are as to how that'll look.
