In honour of Halloween, here’s some sketches of what I wore to a party this weekend, plus a self-portrait. The outfit consists of a pirate shirt and waistcoat I made (not intended as a Halloween costume, but this seemed like the occasion to wear them) and the improvised addition of a Snufkin hat made by @wannabi-bridge.
The self-portrait is traced from a photo taken by @aksudaisy. Definitely my new favourite picture of myself!

Day three progress
A little wrinkly, but I'll iron it before the final pictures. Doing all this sand was tedious. It took ten minutes with no breaks.
But isn't it such a lovely color?
I'll trim the ears a little when I cut them out. I'm using a finicky process and cannot redo it once it's done. That is permanent.
I adore the little tufts of hair on top and I dearly hope I can keep them.
Thankfully this piece doesn't need to be machine washable. I have a lot more freedom in what I'm doing!

on sunday there is mass.
we will worship you
and i will tuck leaves of palm into cork board edges
in preservation of a moment relived and remembered once each year.
it’s tradition to fold each leaf into a cross, so i do it because you did.
my nimble fingers struggle to reach inside and around each leaf.
i wonder if yours struggled the same, or if the practice you had helped.

Living life on the edge is fun because it means your professor helps take out a splinter that got stuck in the palm of your hand using alcohol swipes and a sewing needle and then you share half a cookie together that your classmate didn’t want anymore and it’s all in the name of ✨bonding✨ and living life with no fear
#I just hope I don’t get much clay in the lil hole they poked lolol#such a good day 👍#getting this splinter taken out with a sewing needle took me back to when my dad had to rummage around in the palm to take out a piece of#broken glass that got stuck in there#but he used fire to sterilize and possible alcohol too I don’t remember#it happened when I was very young#either way. good times#I love seeing that scar#and if I got a lil scar as proof of this moment today#then I would be happy too
