Trans women do not have an unfair advantage in sports and this claim often harms intersex women and Black women.
This post is for @loneranger0369 whose been following this blog way too long to be this ignorant.
Trans people have been allowed to compete in the Olympics since 2004 (as long as they've been on hormone replacement for more than a year and their hormones aren't above a certain level).
Only one trans woman has won since this new rule. If trans women such an advantage, wouldn't more of them be winning?
The ACLU has more information and studies proving trans women don't have an advantage
Bills barring trans women from sports more frequently harm cisgendered women that have an undiagnosed intersex condition.
More specifically. Rules that bar trans women from sports more frequently harm Black women in sports as they're more frequently accused of being trans due to the hypermasculinization of Black women
Cis women that have health conditions that cause higher testosterone but are otherwise healthy are often forced to take drugs that come with a slew of health risks just to lower their natural testosterone so they can compete.
And it's not about unfair advantages. You want to talk about unfair advantages. Michael Phelps has a slew of them in his natural body.
Usain Bolt does too
We gonna shorten Usain Bolt's legs and give Michael Phelps joint tightening surgery because they have an unfair advantage? I think you'll find most Olympic record setters have what you call an "unfair advantage"
(I'll address your next point about trans kids being confused later today. I'm busy today.)

Legendary Gauntlet Teams - Terrakion
A new challenger has entered the Gauntlet meta.  Terrakion has arrived! This is a modern stage, and much like with Champion Stadium, modern means way harder, right?
(Note: this battle has not been released yet, but I’m putting it out in advance of the event to talk about prior to dropping in case anyone’s having trouble going in.  This will be updated once the Legendary Arena is officially available.  If anyone is looking for raw data, here’s the spreadsheet keeping track.)
General Overview Terrakion comes in with fairly average stats.  A good comparison is its offenses are around Regirock.  There are others, but I bring up Regirock because much like Regirock, Terrakion has high BP moves.  Stone Edge, Close Combat, Focus Blast, Sacred Sword, and plenty of AoE with Rock Slide, Bulldoze, Earthquake, and Swift among them.
What sets Terrakion apart is four passives: Sharpened Body 2, Brawn Sync 2, Sharpened Mind 2, and Brain Sync 2.  To parse these four down: sync and move damage +20% while Atk/Sp Atk is raised.  Two additional passives, Perfect Debut Strength 2 and Perfect Debut Smarts 1, will raise Atk/Sp Atk by 2/1 stage at the outset of the battle.  Pinch Hitter 2 and Dangerous Mind 2 will also give +2 when it hits half health each bar, and it knows Swords Dance (Bar 1) and Calm Mind (Bar 2).  Note that these passives activate if there is any level of buff, so you need to be constantly wiping the offense boosts from Terrakion to mitigate them.
Its main gimmick as a Gauntlet Stage is Clear Advantage 2/4/8.  This is a 20/40/80% damage reduction when there is no weather, terrain, or zone effect in play.  This thing is Lisia's worst nightmare.  This parameter creates a hard ceiling for Gauntlet streaks, as you cannot get past 80% damage reduction.  Because it's the final phase with the most reduction, you're left with a slower start, or require MPR, which is almost always a 3/5 skill.  Combining these two gimmicks into one, you have a recipe for nightmarish teambuilding, with two distinct conditions to check off.  It's like Uxie, but arguably worse.
But there is good news.  Terrakion is Psychic weak, meaning there are many, many damage dealers who can throw down effectively with it.  In addition, Terrakion does not have Resilience as a listed passive, and has Lessen 8 for Sleep and Flinch.  Meaning it can be flinch/sleep locked.  This is a particularly effective backup strategy when offense debuffing isn't an option.  It can't hurt you if it can't move.
Useful Units and Combos Weather, Terrain, and Zone setters are essential.  Anni May is the queen of this fight, with P!Marnie, SS Wally, and Anni Skyla also having field effects and offense debuffs in one.  Any that come with a flinch rate or sleep rate, like Winona, Acerola, or SS Cyrus, are worth their weight in gold.
Particularly useful options include units who can set these effects on sync or entry repeatedly, to avoid MPR concerns.  Aura Cynthia, Lyra, Silver, and Palentine's Bea are good choices.  Notably, the Eevee Day Protags also always set field effects, and can debuff an offensive stat (Lyra and Kris need 3/5).
Sleep and Flinch bots are your best friends.
Offense debuffers like Ghetsis and C!Iris are helpful to mitigate multipliers. Special note to Janine, Tech Nidoqueen, and 5/5 SS Leaf, who can debuff a ton on a Poisoned foe.  If necessary, Haze/Snatch users like Brycen and Grimsley are effective options as well.
Due to the ceiling of this fight being determined by your field effects, Terrakion is a good consideration for throwing your Piercing Blows units like N and Victor at.
Sturdy, healing tanks are ideal choices for frontliners, due to Terrakion's high offense and AoE Sure Crits that bypass defense.  Due to many moves being special, mixed bulk from the likes of BP Morty is especially valuable.  Special note is made for Dawn, who takes physical hits well and can debuff Terrakion's attack per hit landed, mitigating its more dangerous offensive stat.
Gauntlet Interactions The big problems are Moltres and Latias.  Moltres/Terrakion is the worst combination, because of the overlap in weather.  While you can set Sun users to Terrakion and all others to Moltres, longer streaks will be especially difficult in this fight due to the limited nature of what's available.  Latias' requirement for debuffs, particularly toward attack debuffs to avoid a +4 sure crit Earthquake taking out your striker in Bar 3, puts it in direct competition with Terrakion's offensive pressure.
Of lesser note, Terraion's other solutions being flinch and sleep puts it in competition with Tapu Bulu, Azelf, Entei, and Regirock (and Latias again). Regirock requires flinch, and if you don't have it, you don't win.  Entei is a less extreme example of the same.  Azelf is so powerful on sync that sleep has been a requirement for a lot of solutions, which makes allocating the few sleep users difficult.  Tapu Bulu is also sleep weak, but is much easier to handle.
The least painful partners are Cobalion, Uxie, and Tornadus.  All three are checked by status, which is something Terrakion doesn't care about.  Flinch users can safely be applied to Terrakion over Uxie, due to Uxie gaining fast immunity.  Latios, having no particular gimmick, is also pretty free.
If Cresselia ever shows, it's taking all the Haze/Snatch users and Piercing Blows users.
Teambuilding Team 1: Winona, Cyrus, Drake Absolute confidence in this.  Winona can flinch lock and supply Rain for Cyrus' Hydro Pump set.  Drake gives Team Sharp Entry to boost Cyrus' crit rate to guarantee a crit on Spatial Rend, capping for the pivot to Hydro Pump next turn. Winona should be gridded to get an extra Rain on sync, given that Cyrus really won't be needing sync.
Team 2: Acerola, Lodge Morty/Hop, Naomi/Grant Acerola has Sandstorm with MPR and Aggravation Astonish all at 1/5.  She's an excellent answer to this fight.  Naomi is an ideal partner for damage, although if you need to, I guess you can try Grant as a sync nuke.  Hop needs to take over for Grant, while Lodge Morty is a great possibility for Naomi.  The AoE sure hit/crits may make this a bad partnership, but remains to be seen.  Morty is notable because, as far as I'm seeing, Terrakion doesn't boost accuracy, and has some fairly inaccurate moves. Evasion might matter.  But also, every single Gauntlet stage has accuracy boosts even if they don’t use inaccurate moves, so I feel like this is an oversight.
Team 3: Candice, BP Clemont, Ghetsis If your aim isn't to block attacks, this is a solid option.  Candice sets Hail and gets proper MPR, with a tremendous sure-crit sync nuke.   Ghetsis has good DPS, but can also debuff offenses to minimize damage.   With BP Clemont's defense buffs, the team is in prime survival mode.   Additionally, Screech powers up Candice's sync nuke, and accuracy buffs solve Ghetsis' issues.
Team 4: Agatha, Lodge Dawn/Hitmonchan, Silver Silver is able to maintain pressure with Solarize, keeping Terrakion's passives inactive.  However, it likely won't stay for sync, so you're reliant on DPS. Overheat is better than Sacred Fire, so grid for that if possible.  However.  Silver needs Agatha.  His DPS is not great, and he's not particularly bulky.  If going for Overheat, Lodge Dawn is a great solution, providing Team Sharp Entry so Silver can buff without Sun, and special attack/speed buffs he craves.  If sticking purely to physical for the sync, an eggmon like Hitmonchan can suffice with good sleep chaining.
Team 5: Cynthia (5/5), Support Primeape, SS Brock/Grant Cynthia's 5/5 grid hard counters this guy's gimmicks, thanks to permanent Sandstorm.  Support Primeape eases Cynthia's setup requirements with +2 crit, Atk, and Spd.  SS Brock or Grant can supply a flinch rate.  With a 3-bar move and speed buffs, Cynthia's likely generating gauge just fine, and only wants a bit of stalling to make Primeape work.
Team 6: Maxie, Lyra, Thorton Maxie is frail, and needs flinch support, but the beauty of him is that Lyra exists. Permanent Sun with +2 to both offenses and speed means Lyra gives him everything he wants for this fight.  Having done this with other Gauntlets, it does, in fact, wreck shop.
Team 7: Archie, Roxanne/Liza, Tech Gyarados Archie can do similar, albeit with slightly worse off supports.  Liza and Roxanne boost his Hoenn Spirit effect, but Roxanne is weak to Fighting, so good luck.  Liza also doesn't take hits well.  Nor does Archie.  So, another flincher in Tech Gyarados, who gets a 60% chance to flinch, and can set Rain.  Roxanne may actually be better for gauge, as Liza...can't help gauge and neither can Gyarados.  They're gonna be slow.
Team 8: Eevee Kris, BP Morty, Hau Eevee Day Protags are able to handle this fight well.  I'm starting with Kris, because the crit support makes her a solid choice for Hau, who appreciates permanent terrain for Discharge, and needs the crit.  BP Morty is brought up for bulk, but also because Potion is really nice.   Also he can flinch.  BP Morty's really good on this fight.
Team 9: Anni May, NY!Sabrina/MU Mesprit, Tech Persian/Mina Anni May is a brutally strong pick against this fight, thanks to Psychic Terrain, special attack debuffs, and supereffective matchup.  Tech Persian is chosen as a partner to debuff attack.  I avoided Mina for gauge issue reasons.  NY!Sabrina is a solid support, giving May the special attack she otherwise doesn't want to self-buff.  Though another option is MU Mesprit, whose trainer move also buffs speed for Mina.
Team 10: Janine, Sabrina, Bianca This is a generalized example, but Janine's debuffing on Poison handles debuffing for a partner that sets a field effect.  Bianca's Psychic Terrain is notable because she applies Gradual Healing, which is nice for healing off AoE attacks.  Sabrina offers Bianca the needed stat boosting, and has pop heals and Reflect for survival.  Sabrina may be too frail to handle hits even with debuffs, but hypothetically...
Final Thoughts Terrakion feels like a particularly powerful foe, but one that is at least manageable.  The main issue is the requirement for a field effect, and the fact that its offense buffing gets out of control.  You know how Latias' +4 Sure Crit Earthquake can KO a lot of strikers?  Yeah, Terrakion seems to do the same, but could easily have reached +6 if you're not debuffing.  It's even stronger than that. As a result, its offenses need to be put in check, and the tools to accomplish both tasks are quite rare.
But this also feels like a very controlled match.  So long as the tools you brought are reasonable, they should win.  There's nothing stupid, like Tornadus' Self-Cleanse ruining a sync, or Latias' evasion meaning one unlucky miss just snowballs into catastrophe, or missing a flinch against Regirock meaning Crit Shield is up and your run just tanked.  Terrakion feels much more fair, in that sense.  And I think that, between that fact and the fact its dual-gimmick approach is similar to Uxie, we're definitely going to see this one in Gauntlet.  It's not a matter of if.  It's when.

Heartstrings and Kissing Booths
Tumblr media
Chapter 1: Unveiling the Hidden Truth
Shona Miya, the charismatic and determined sister of star volleyball players Atsumu and Osamu Miya, lived her life behind a cheerful facade. She was known for running a highly successful kissing booth, which everyone assumes is her way of making a quick buck. However, the truth was far more complicated.
One fateful evening, as Shona locks up the kissing booth, she can't hide the pain that lingers within her heart—quite literally. She has a severe heart condition that threatens her life with every beat. The medical bills for the heart transplant she desperately needs are sky-high, beyond what her family can afford. With no other options, she has resorted to running the kissing booth to finance her secret operation.
Chapter 2: Shona's Operation Fundraiser
Word begins to spread about Shona's ailing condition. People who had branded her as merely money-hungry start to realize the gravity of her situation. Atsumu and Osamu, deeply concerned for their sister's well-being, rally their friends, the team, and their loyal fan base to help Shona raise the funds she needs to save her life.
Chapter 3: Unexpected Allies
Among those who come forth to lend a hand is Akaashi Keiji, the talented setter from Fukurōdani Academy. Hearing of Shona's plight, he decides to put their rivalry aside and make her cause his own. Together, they devise a plan to organize a charity event, drawing the attention of volleyball enthusiasts from all over Japan.
Chapter 4: Growing Tensions
As the fundraising event rapidly approaches, tensions rise within Shona's family. They worry that Shona's health will deteriorate before the operation can be scheduled. Atsumu and Osamu feel a tremendous weight on their shoulders, torn between maintaining their volleyball careers and supporting their sister through this difficult time.
Chapter 5: Love Blossoms
During the preparations for the event, Shona stumbles upon a young volunteer, Rintaro Suna. Rintaro has joined out of sheer curiosity but quickly finds himself captivated by Shona's resilience and selflessness. A deep connection grows between them, and Shona finds solace in Rintaro's unwavering support.
Chapter 6: The Fundraising Event
The much-anticipated fundraising event finally arrives, drawing a massive crowd eager to support Shona's cause. Through games, performances, and a captivating showcase of volleyball skills, the event is a resounding success. Generous donations from friends and strangers alike pour in, bringing Shona one step closer to her life-saving operation.
Chapter 7: A Twist of Fate
Just as hope takes hold and Shona's operation seems within reach, a setback occurs. The transplant committee informs Shona that a matching heart is needed urgently, but the wait could be unbearably long. As despair threatens to overtake her, a seemingly insignificant character from earlier in the story resurfaces with a shocking revelation—a heart might be available sooner than anticipated.
Chapter 8: A Gift of Life
With renewed hope, Shona undergoes a successful heart transplant. Surrounded by her loving family and newfound friends, she begins her journey towards recovery and a chance at a new life. The kindness and support she received from others during her darkest moments remind her that love and connection can be found in the most unexpected places.
Chapter 9: start of something new
Months after her operation, Shona returns to the volleyball court, no longer as a sideline spectator but as a player in her own right. With her indomitable spirit and a new heart beating within her, Shona embarks on a path to fulfill her own dreams while continuing to support others in their battles against adversity.
As the strains of love, resilience, and the power of human connections intertwine, "Heartstrings and Kissing Booths" reminds us that life's greatest battles are often won through the unwavering support of our loved ones.
Chapter 10: A Promising Future
With her health restored and a new lease on life, Shona eagerly embraces the opportunities that lie before her. Determined to make the most of her second chance, she sets her sights on attending a prestigious medical school, driven by a newfound passion ignited by her own medical journey.
As Shona navigates the application process with unwavering determination, she discovers a scholarship program specifically designed for students pursuing medicine. The scholarship offers financial aid to those with extraordinary circumstances, and Shona's journey garners attention from the medical community and philanthropists alike.
Chapter 11: The Power of Compassion
News of Shona's remarkable story spreads far and wide, reaching the ears of renowned cardiologist, Dr. Karin Tanaka. Deeply moved by Shona's resilience and her dedication to helping others, Dr. Tanaka reaches out to offer her mentorship and guidance.
Under Dr. Tanaka's wings, Shona learns the intricacies of the medical field, fueled by a fierce desire to give back and help patients like herself. As they bond over their shared experiences, the mentorship evolves into a cherished friendship, with Dr. Tanaka becoming both a guiding light and a source of inspiration.
Chapter 12: The Gift of Friendship
One evening, while attending a medical conference, Shona reunites with Rinatro the young volunteer whose unwavering support touched her heart deeply. Their connection remains as strong as ever, and their friendship blossoms further amidst the shared pursuit of their dreams. Rintaro, also determined to make a positive impact in the world, reveals her aspirations of becoming a medical researcher. Embracing the same spirit of empathy and compassion, they decide to embark on a collaborative journey to work towards advancements in medical science, driven by their personal experiences and a desire to help others facing similar struggles.
Chapter 13: A Legacy of Love
As Shona and Rintaro continue to excel in their respective fields, their legacy intertwines with the memory of their journey. Together, they establish a foundation aimed at raising awareness for organ transplantation, providing financial aid to those in need, and advocating for comprehensive healthcare accessibility.
Through their foundation, Shona and Rintaro touch countless lives, painting a world where nobody is left behind without proper medical care. Their story inspires individuals from all walks of life to become organ donors, pushing the boundaries of medical research, and fostering a sense of community and support for those who face challenging health circumstances.
Epilogue: A Heart Full of Gratitude
Years later, a contented smile graces Shona's face as she reflects on her remarkable journey. Her life, once shadowed by the threat of death, is now filled with purpose, love, and the satisfaction of truly making a difference in the lives of others.
Surrounded by family, friends, and the countless lives she touched, Shona finds solace in her acquired wisdom, cherishing each day as a gift. Her gratitude for the gift of life and the support she received along the way serves as a constant reminder that even amidst adversity, love and compassion can ignite a sense of hope and drive us towards the path of healing and fulfillment.
As the final pages of "Heartstrings and Kissing Booths" close, it becomes clear that this story is not solely about the challenges one faces but the power of resilience, the beauty of unlikely friendships, and the capacity of the human spirit to conquer even the most daunting obstacles

Marjoribanks was looking for a dog that could retrieve birds on land and water, and that was also loyal and obedient. He crossed several breeds, including the Tweed Water Spaniel, Irish Setter, Bloodhound, and St. John's Water Dog, to create the Golden Retriever. The breed was recognized by the Kennel Club of England in 1903 and by the American Kennel Club in 1925. The Golden Retriever quickly gained popularity in the United States and became one of the most popular breeds in the country. Today, they are still used as hunting dogs, but they are also commonly used as guide dogs, service dogs, therapy dogs, and search and rescue dogs.

Training and Exercise for Golden Retrievers
Training Golden Retrievers are highly intelligent and eager to please, which makes them easy to train. They are also very food-motivated, so using treats as rewards during training can be very effective. Positive reinforcement techniques such as praise and treats work well with Golden Retrievers, while punishment or harsh training methods can be counterproductive and even harmful to their sensitive nature. Golden Retrievers excel in obedience and agility training, and they also make great therapy and service dogs. They are often used as guide dogs for the blind and as emotional support animals. Exercise Golden Retrievers are energetic dogs that require regular exercise to stay healthy and happy. They enjoy a variety of activities, including walking, running, swimming, and playing fetch. It's important to provide your Golden Retriever with enough exercise to prevent boredom and destructive behaviors. A daily walk and playtime in a yard or park can provide sufficient exercise for most Golden Retrievers.
Tumblr media
Grooming and Nutrition for Golden Retrievers
Grooming Golden Retrievers have a dense, water-repellent coat that requires regular brushing to keep it in good condition. Brushing their coat a few times a week can help prevent matting and keep their coat shiny and healthy. They also require occasional grooming, including trimming their nails, cleaning their ears, and bathing them as needed. Nutrition Golden Retrievers require a balanced diet to maintain their health and well-being. High-quality dog food that contains the appropriate balance of protein, fat, and carbohydrates is essential. It's important to follow feeding guidelines based on your dog's weight and activity level, and to avoid overfeeding, as Golden Retrievers are prone to obesity.
Conclusion
The Golden Retriever breed is a wonderful choice for families looking for a friendly, loyal, and intelligent dog. They have a rich history as hunting dogs and have since become one of the most popular breeds in the world. With proper training, exercise, grooming, and nutrition, your Golden Retriever can lead a happy and healthy life. pretty setter Akaashi passing out in front of a frantic Bokuto??
Wrote this in one sitting in like two hours, so I hope it's not too rushed. This one ran longer than I wanted, but I think it's okay. Let me know what you think. (*Me jumping from past tense to present tense between fics* Parkour!)
Iron(ic) [yes, the title is a terrible pun]
Anemic Akaashi with caretaker Bokuto ft. Konoha (because I love him)
Word count: 903 words
Akaashi doesn’t look good, Koutarou notices. Akaashi’s typically fair skin has taken on an ashen tint. His bright blue eyes are unusually dull, and Akaashi’s graceful movements are slow and clumsy. Something is wrong. Koutarou doesn’t know what, but something is.
Akaashi’s poor health is having an impact on morning practice. The team is scattered and disorganized without Akaashi’s steady guidance. No one can focus, too concerned about their vice-captain’s health, but they’re also too afraid to say anything to Akaashi directly. Akaashi will just shrug off their concerns with a gentle shake of his head. As wonderful as Akaashi is at taking care of his team, the same can’t be said for himself.
Konoha shoots Koutarou a pointed look. Koutarou knows what his friend wants him to do. Koutarou is the only one on the entire team that can talk to Akaashi when he gets like this. Akaashi is too stubborn to listen to anyone but his captain or his coaches when it comes to his health. Their coaches like to leave this type of thing to the captain and will only intervene if Akaashi gets worse. Their coaches are on the other side of the gym working with the first years anyway, so they might not even know what’s happening right now.
So it’s up to Koutarou, then. Koutarou takes a moment to collect himself, and then he walks over to Akaashi.
“Are you okay, ‘Kaashi?” Koutarou asks the setter.
Akaashi turns to face him, but the movement is painfully slow. “Of course, Bokuto. Why wouldn’t I be?”
“Are you sure?” Koutarou presses, “You don’t look good at all.”
“Are you calling me ugly?” Akaashi jokes lightly.
That should be a relief, but Akaashi never jokes with Koutarou. Ever. He barely jokes with any of the third years out of respect, and he refuses to tease Koutarou because he firmly believes that he must be respectful to his captain. Koutarou has tried to joke around with Akaashi all year with no success, so Akaashi must be pretty out of it to willingly tease his captain, especially in front of the entire team.
“Course not, ‘Kaashi,” Koutarou replies. “But maybe you should sit down. You’re looking a little pale.”
Akaashi pauses for a moment to consider his options. He sighs heavily and looks back at Koutarou. “Okay. Just for a little while, though.”
“Sure, ‘Kaashi,” Koutarou nods, moving beside Akaashi, so they can walk back to the bench together.
Akaashi’s body seems to have other plans, though. Akaashi takes one step before his legs give out, and then he’s falling to the floor. Koutarou dashes to the setter’s aid, wrapping an arm around Akaashi’s waist before his body can hit the floor.
“Akaashi!” Koutarou shrieks, drawing the attention of everyone in the gym.
Koutarou lays Akaashi on his back as he struggles to get Akaashi into the recovery position. Konoha darts over to help, rolling Akaashi onto his side, so Koutarou could finish moving his limbs to the correct places. Saruki runs over too, offering his jacket to pillow Akaashi’s head as Komi goes to get the coaches.
“Akaashi,” Koutarou shakes his friend’s shoulder. “Wake up, Akaashi.”
“Mmm…” Akaashi’s eyes flutter open weakly. “Wha’s goin’ on…?”
“Are you with us, Akaashi?” Konoha asks gently.
“Hi, Konoha,” Akaashi giggles lightly. “Your hair is funny.”
“Uh… Thanks, I guess,” Konoha looks unsure of whether he should be offended or concerned. “How are you feeling?”
“Tired,” Akaashi yawns widely to emphasize his point, “and dizzy. I’m so dizzy…”
“Why’re you dizzy, ‘Kaashi?” Koutarou asks quickly. Akaashi’s description is too vague for Koutarou and Konoha to determine what’s wrong with the setter.
“Mmm…” Akaashi goes quiet for a moment. “I didn’t eat breakfast, so maybe that… My doctor says not to skip meals. I guess this is why, huh…?”
“Your doctor, ‘Kaashi?” Koutarou’s ears catch on part of Akaashi’s statement. “What kind of doctor?”
“I have anemia,” Akaashi admits tiredly. “I see a specialist to help me manage it.”
“Is that why you fainted?” Konoha asked. “You’re not sick or anything?”
“I don’t think so,” Akaashi says, shifting to sit up. He’s not quite strong enough to keep himself upright, so Koutarou and Konoha help support him.
“That’s good,” Koutarou squeezes Akaashi’s shoulder. “Do you want something to eat?”
“Maybe,” Akaashi hums, “I just want to go home. I don’t feel good.”
It’s unusual for Akaashi to be so blatant about his feelings, but Akaashi was probably still a little loopy from passing out, Koutarou reasons.
“Okay, ‘Kaashi. We’ll get you home, so don’t worry!” Koutarou declares confidently.
“Thanks, Bokuto, Konoha,” Akaashi smiles exhaustedly.
“Any time, ‘Kaashi, any time.” Koutarou smiles back. It’ll be difficult getting Akaashi back to his house if they have to walk, but they’ll deal with that later. For now, the trio snuggles together quietly. So Akaashi’s anemic, huh? Koutarou wonders why he’s never told the team before, but he knows better than to ask right now. He’ll ask Akaashi when they get to the setter’s house.
Koutarou might skip school to stay with Akaashi. They can hang out, and Koutarou can ask about Akaashi’s anemia. Yeah, that’s a good plan. Koutarou will put it into action once they leave the gym. But for now, he’ll keep Akaashi comfortable and supported because that’s what Akaashi would do if Koutarou were sick, and Akaashi deserves to be taken care of just like Koutarou.

International Love-Haikyuu x foreign reader Pt 48
- Youth Training Camp pt2 -
"Yn-chan, please come here, we are going to do a match, help us divide the teams"
Since Tsumu and Kageyama both were setters, they obviously need to be on different teams, so Tsumu end up being with Hoshiumi while Kageyama is with Sakusa and Komori. On the first rally, I see Tsumu setting for someone, but it’s received by Komori without much problem. Kageyama then set it to Sakusa, yet Tsumu is able to dig it sending it to the other side of the net. After being blocked by Hoshiumi, Kageyama sets it really fast, making the ball fall, untouched
- Tobio-kun, you’re not at Karasuno
- Sorry, it was out of habit – says Kageyama
- It’s okay it’s the first one
- What Kageyama said it’s good, means that he can get used to plays – says one of the coaches
- Yeah, he adapts really fast to the spikers – I say as I continue watching them. The day continues with a lot of practices, changing teams every match. On lunchtime I go to eat with Tsumu, who FaceTimes Samu and Suna so I could talk to them, while I was texting Kenma and the team.
By dinner I was waiting for Tsumu to grab dinner, who went to shower after all the practice they did, so in the mean time I decided to go to where Kageyama is sitting.
- …we lost on the finals of our own tournament, how pathetic – says Eikichi
- You lost? How? You were good in the training camp – I say sitting down
- Ah Yn-chan, yes, we did. I guess we had a bad day, we barely were able to get into the finals – says eating – what about you guys?
- We’re going to the Nationals this time
- Congrats
- Yn-san, you’re not eating? – says Kageyama – here, have some of mine
- No, no, I’m waiting for Tsumu. Just enjoy your food
- But you’re my senpai, I should help you…
- Thank you Tobio-kun, but I’m okay, don’t worry. And I told you to not treat like a senpai or whatever, I don’t like it
- But…
- Oi, I haven’t seen the video but why did Shiratorizawa lost? Was Wakatoshi in a bad condition? – asks Sakusa when he approach
- Hm? No, I think he was playing okay… - says Kageyama. Sakusa looks at me, like asking for a confirmation
- Don’t know, sorry, haven’t watch the video either – I say, he nods focusing on Kageyama again. Eikichi looks at me confused by the interaction between Sakusa and I.
- Then how did he lose? Did someone stop him?
- Yeah, someone did – Kageyama says simply, making Sakusa shock
- Who was it? What year? What’s his name? What middle sc-
- Sorry! – says Komori – he’s way too negative, he wants to know everything he can about possible threats
- I’m not negative, it’s called being careful.
- This sounds familiar – I say looking at the two boys – didn’t you ask me the same when Inarizaki won against Wakatoshi last year?
- Yeah, he did
- Again, I was being careful.
- I’m not judging, I do the same…just nicely – I say making him mutter a small “I know”, eyes softening a bit
- You still don’t play seriously, right? – says Kageyama shocking everyone
- Why?
- I thought so, so far you’re more normal than I thought – says Kageyama, shocking Sakusa while Komori and I laugh
- He thinks his shoulders aren’t okay, although it’s pure imagination – says Komori while Sakusa whines lowly
- That was it? I noticed it too, but didn’t want to say anything yet – I say – Sakusa-kun if your shoulders weren’t okay, you wouldn’t be able to spike at all without feeling pain
- I told him that! But he doesn’t listen to me!
- Then why do I feel it so tense? – asks me Sakusa
- Maybe you’re stressed, you seem the type to worry about everything. A massage should help
- I don’t want anyone’s dirty hands on my shoulders, I rather be tense – Sakusa says stubbornly
- That’s not good for your health Sakusa-kun…
- Whatever, I’m going to take a bath
- So soon? – says Komori
- I’ll do it before everyone’s germs are on it
- Put warm water in your shoulders for a while, that should help a bit with your pain – I say
- …okay, eat something – says before leaving
- You know the pain was in his head, right?
- Yes, but it should help him relax a bit
- Yeah, at least it’s something. Sorry to disturb guys! – says leaving behind his friend
- Tsumu is over there, so I’ll take it as my cue to leave. See you tomorrow guys – I say leaving. Once I arrive next to Tsumu I lay my head on his chest – Finally, I was starving
- Your fault, I told you to eat without me – says taking two trays while I put some food on them. He takes both trays, despite my protests, and goes to sit with me – thank you for waiting though
- Of course, I’m not leaving you to eat alone
- Chibi-chaan! – says hugging me, eyes getting a little watery – I swear, you’re the best
- I know, I know. Let’s eat, okay
We continue eating while talking, both of us sharing stories of what had happened to us these past months. After showering I FaceTime with Kenma, he was playing while I talk about what had happened today.
At some point I take my laptop out and put some headphones. Sakusa had brought up the fact that Karasuno won against Shiratorizawa, something that I hadn’t really thought about until now, so I was curious about the game too. While watching the match I decided to take some notes, they could be handy in the future.
After watching the match and playing with Kenma for a while, we both call it a night at 2:30 am.
The first thing that the guys did next morning was another practice match. I see Tsumu serving with his jump float, however it looks different than usual, softer almost.
- Kageyama can synchronize himself really good with the left handed player – says one of the coaches
- He has a good technique
After Tsumu receives a ball, the last hit is tossed to Hoshiumi, who jumps even higher than when I first saw him play, sending the ball to the end line.
- You DID got better Hoshiumi! That jump was higher than before! – I say
- I know! I told you you will be surprised!
- Oh sorry, I interrupted – I say looking at the coaches
- It’s alright, that’s why you here after all. Something else you want to say?
- Ehh…Eikichi-kun, is that how high you can reach? Cause personally, I think you can reach higher, you’re tall yet your jumps aren’t, not as they could be
- But this is how I spike the best…
- But imagine how powerful and cool it would be if you get used to hitting the ball a little higher while being left handed. Can you try to do it for a few plays? – I say using my best convincing smile.
- S-sure – says blushing a little – it doesn’t hurt to try. It does sounds cool after all
- Tobio-kun, you got it? – I say going back to the coaches
- Yes, Yn-san, I’ll take care of it
- I’m surprised that you were able to convince a spiker to try something new, usually they prefer to go with what’s easier for them – says a coach when the game resumes.
- They are still teenagers, it's easy to convince them once you tell them how powerful or cool something can be. And being a girl probably helps a lot, specially since most here don't know me that much.
- Really clever, I must say.
In the evening the guys are doing their cool down stretches after more practice. I go around passing bottles to some of them when I see Tsumu talking to Kageyama.
- In the training camp I didn’t really pay attention to your school, you were good, but your teammates weren’t. So I thought you would be a difficult person here, but it turns out you’re actually just a Goody Two shoes.
 - Ah?!
- Tsumu, what are you doing? – I say making him shiver a little
- Just talking to Kageyama-kun here
- Really? I didn't sound like a nice talk. Can you not be a cooky bastard for like a day?
- I’m not cocky!
- Yes, you are. Sorry Tobio-kun, he can get annoying – I say taking Tsumu by the wrist, walking away – you know that I don’t have a problem with you being cocky, you have the talent to be, but don’t ruin your reputation so fast
- I’m sorry chibi-chan, but you just said that you like me being cocky
- No, I don’t like it, but I get it. As long as you never treat me or the people that I care about bad, I’m can live with it.
- I would never, I love you too much. Plus you’re terrifying when you’re angry
- Thanks. Were you holding back with the jump float serves?
- What are you talking about chibi-chan? Like I’m the one to hold back – says with a knowing smirk, however he lowers his head and says to my ear – we need to surprise our future opponents, don’t we?
- Look at you, using your brain on your own for once. Well done
- Rude. Let’s go to eat
- Sure, let me do something first – I say going to where Sakusa is – Sakusa-kun! Did you watch the match between Karasuno and Shiratorizawa?
- Not yet
- Good, then here. I watched it yesterday and took some notes, I thought you will like to have some information about them.
- Why did you do this? – says surprised, taking them
- The notes? Well, you got me curious about the match. Plus both of us like to be careful about other teams, so why not?
- I see…thank you
-  Of course, we’re gonna go now. I’m sure you will, but eat a good meal. See you
- I will, see you – says
- Chibi-chan, will you give us the notes too? – ask me Tsumu once we were far away
- Of course, I may be in Nekoma now, but half of my heart is still in Inarizaki.
- We miss you too – says giving me a nice loving hug. Unless they play against my cats, I’m going to help them as much as I can. It’s the least that I can do to the first ones that love me and help me.

Legendary Gauntlet - Uxie/Latias/Moltres
Alright, Gauntlet is back!  I actually like Gauntlet, and the candy coin rewards are always nice.  I aim for 100 streaks mostly for the extra powerup tickets.  That’s exactly enough to 20/20 a character for free.  And after the last few were so brutal, it’ll be nice to get away from the harder fights for-that is Latias again.  That’s like three in a row, DeNA.  Can we please get another?  Ugh.  Whatever.  Is the guaranteed lucky skill any good?  MGR2?  Sure, DeNA.
General Overview Well, the good news is their conditions are all different?  Uxie takes the status, except Sleep which can be used against Latias.  Latias takes your debuffers or Haze bots.  Moltres takes your weather setters, except Sun.  Uxie in particular is easy to hit the 10 win limit off of.  BP Erika, Lucy, Tech Venomoth, and Lodge Calem are four F2P aligned picks that have the exact tools to completely check Uxie’s gimmicks.  So you’ll only need three options on the others, which is much more achievable.
But if you’re like me?  If you like long streaks?  Prepare for the hardest Gauntlet to date.
Latias is a known pain in the ass, because its gimmick is evasion play in Bar 2.  Latias is annoying because, even with well-crafted teams that counter its general utility, it can just decide not to lose.  And you need multiple stats debuffed, which denies single-debuff options like Surge and Mina.  Moreover, while you have the option to use pairs that bypass its gimmick, its boosted offenses severely threaten their longevity, especially with Sure Crit Earthquake.  Even worse, then you run into issues with Uxie.  Status Changes for parts 2 and 3 are Flinch (unreliable, you get one), Confuse (often low odds, and recovers quickly), Trap (the only common useful one), Restrain (very rare), Sure Hit from Thorton and SC Steven, and Rebuff (very rare).  The point being?  There are not enough options that handle Uxie’s status change conditional.  It’s brutal, and the decision on who goes where becomes very challenging as a result.
Then you throw in Moltres.  Did you know?  There are only like 18 weather setters in the entire game that aren’t Sun.  About a quarter of them are eggmons, who only get two applications, and this fucker changes weather FIVE TIMES.  To compound matters, missing MPR on those who can manually set it means at least one HP bar is going to kill you.  Oh, and let’s not forget that in many situations?  Your weather setter is also the sync nuker.  Which means if you don’t quad queue, eat Heat Wave on the phase transition.  The solution is often flinch, but that’s inconsistent, and missing even one time in Bar 2 means your entire party is burned, and you’ve effectively lost the match.
This trio is nasty.  This is going to be incredibly hard.  The only consolation is that you can recycle teams from a previous Gauntlet earlier this year, when Latias and Moltres reran together before.  Because that’s what we really needed, was the two worst stages to see in Gauntlet running together twice.  Like, seriously, can we get a break?  Just give us a month with Latios, Raikou, and like Bulu or Entei or something, please.  I just got here and I’m so tired.
Uxie Of the three, Uxie is the easier one to manage.  Uxie is easier because nothing it does is immediately threatening.  Uxie doesn’t have big pop damage that can put your strikers at critical health in one shot like the other two.  But the tradeoff is that Uxie builds immunity to flinch and sleep very quickly, and applies a consistent pressure that cannot be stopped.  Combined with its sharp damage reduction if gimmicks aren’t checked, this can mean eating a lot of syncs from it, and getting steadily worn down.
The gimmicks are both status types.  Bar 1 is 80% reduction without a status condition (paralysis, burn, poison, freeze, sleep), Bar 2 is 80% reduction without a status change (flinch, confuse, trap, restrain, sure hit, rebuff), Bar 3 gives one stage of 40% reduction for each, hitting 64% total if netiher is checked.  Brief note: at new HP Bars, Uxie will apply Sure Crit to itself.  This counts as a status change, and is an opportunity to sneak in some extra damage.
F2P players are in luck.  With the introduction of Lodge Calem, who is entirely free because base Calem is free, we now have four F2P options that completely answer this fight.  BP Erika, Lucy, Lodge Calem, and Tech Venomoth all have the combination of a status move, and Trap or Confuse.  With this, you can complete 4/10 fights, simplifying the other two as only needing three wins each.
The bad news comes from longer streaks.  Uxie is a progression blocker.  From the list, you might think there are tons of ways to bypass its gimmicks, but status change is rare.  Status conditions are plentiful, especially without Tornadus or Cobalion around to siphon off options.  But status change?  There are not that many trap users, very few rebuff and restrain users, and exactly two Sure Hit pairs.  To compound matters, Flinch gets one shot, so unless you’re using it with a tech nuke that will one-shot the HP bar right away, it’s unreliable, and Confuse is frankly not much better.  There are a lot of Confuse pairs that get the effect off their main, or only, DPS attack, and applying it at the wrong time is devastating.  Moreover it runs off flinch mechanics, were most do not guarantee the effect, so it’s constant gambling.  The only consistent options are Trap, Restrain, and Rebuff, with Restrain and Rebuff never growing to immunity.  For longer streaks, Uxie’s consideration needs to be putting all status change users on deck.  You are going to need them all here.
Team 1: Cheryl, BP Erika, Giovanni A tried and true, constant success team.  Giovanni’s DPS is very respectable, and BP Erika provides the Toxic and Trap to remove Uxie’s gimmick.  Despite being physical, Cheryl at 5* is completely capable of taking Uxie’s hits, and provides Giovanni with exactly the buffs he needs.
Team 2: MU Torchic, Lucy, Shauntal I’m not fully confident in this, but oh well.  Shauntal is able to deal respectable damage, she just needs someone to buff for her.  Critically, MU Torchic has Synchro Healing, which is nice for alleviating the constant damage pressure Uxie produces.  I do think Torchic can struggle with survival though.  Lucy exists to hit both conditions.
Team 3: Roxanne/Hop, Lodge Calem/Selene, Allister Allister is actually a solution on his own, with Poison and Restrain, which counts as a status change.  That said, Allister is bad at setting it up, so Selene is one option.  If you’re going for Selene, maybe pick up Hop.  He can top off her needed attack and crit, and has good healing potential.  Otherwise, Lodge Calem is an option for Burn and Confuse rates, with Roxanne then supplying really good gauge and the needed special attack for the two of them.
Team 4: Lodge Morty, Tech Venomoth/Tech Cloyster, Agatha Lodge Morty is a decent partner to Agatha.  Decent, anyway.  Tech Venomoth or Lodge Calem are recommended because Agatha’s sync is not so impressive that one Hypnosis gets the job done, and it can grow immune.  A backup status is encouraged.  But if you like to live dangerously, Cloyster is fine for Trap.
Solo and Duo Potential There are 30 potential solo options.  Ball Guy, P!Bea, NC Bede, NC Calem, and Aura Cynthia are the only ones listed as reasonable.  You can likely guess why.  All of them carry some form of status or status change, and a ton of consistent healing pressure.  That’s what it takes to survive Uxie.  You want healing to offset its damage, and to check its gimmicks as thoroughly as possible.
Latias Anyone else sick of this fight?  I’m sick of this fight.  I think it’s been three Gauntlets in a row with this, so anyone who’s been playing this year is familiar with the deal.  For those unaware, Latias works with debuffs.  It will constantly buff its stats at nearly every phase change, with Bar 2 being aggressive with boosting evasion, and Bar 3 boosting all stats except Attack at the outset.  Latias will reduce damage taken based on how many buffs it has, and can reduce damage to 0.  This is a factor not just of how many debuffs it has, but how many stats are debuffed.  You can’t get away with only one stat being debuffed, you need at least 3 for reasonable damage.  So many F2P options like Eggmons, Mina, and Surge, are actually not great at answering it.  To make matters worse, Latias opens Bar 3, now fully attack buffed, and swings with Sure Hit Earthquake.  If your team is weakened at all, this can be fatal to strikers.  Your support also requires you to have proper offensive pressure at the outset in a 3v3 fight, as the sides get +2 to their relevant offensive stat with every attack, and can beat down center if you’re not careful.  Lastly, Latias will, after using its first sync, use Mud Slap, with Ripple Effect.  This can devastate a team’s ability to hit in later phases, where it buffs evasion, then gets more evasion every time it dodges.  Even well thought out teams with good debuffs and relevant offense, can still lose because Latias decides just not to get hit.
The positives are that Haze and Snatch work, so Brycen, SS Misty, and Grimsley are excellent in this fight.  Mud Slap only hurts sides if it hurts center, so Supports with Impervious, like Sycamore or Hilbert, can completely shut that down.  Accuracy buffing is also always nice.  And until its final phase, Latias can be sleep chained, making your sleep bots relevant picks.  Of course, you have to balance this around the debuffing, which is where the challenge arises.  Teambuilding is, in fact, an entire pain.
Team 1: Brycen, Sycamore, Support Primeape Sycamore responds pretty well to this fight, with just Brycen’s help.  The Haze thing does wonders.  Support Primeape gives Sycamore the exact amount of crit needed, with a little bit more attack right away for Horn Leech when needed.  Added bonus, Brycen can get lucky and freeze, stalling out some actions.  It’s uncommon but fun when it lands.
Team 2: Victrier, Misty, Lisia You might not know it, but Lisia is one of the best answers to this fight.  Dragon damage at the outset, Fairy DPS in the second half.  Victrier is a greak pick because he can buff Lisia’s needed stats, and can Haze away problem stats.  Misty is the support of choice, because she can provide some evasion of her own, heals a bit, and boosts special defense for team survival.
Team 3: Grimsley, Leaf, Ghetsis Grimsley is unnecessary.  Leaf and Ghetsis are a great duo for this fight, with Leaf offering a good amount of healing, offsets the accuracy issues and have Imperious, and even tops off Ghetsis’ special attack and flinches.  Ghetsis Noble Roar Double Drop is plenty to handle it alongside speed debuffs too, with the AoE on Glaciate doing plenty.  But if you want more, Grimsley can flinch, and remove defensive drops.
Team 4: SS Misty, Lodge Dawn, Caitlin Caitlin and Lodge Dawn are incredible as partners.  The main thing to keep in mind is Misty’s Haze for removing buffs, critically at the start of Bar 2 and Bar 3, and her Mist ability, which blocks debuffs.  Eat shit, Mud Slap.  Caitlin is exceptional with 3v3 fights and Lodge Dawn on her side, given how well Dawn complements her buffs.  Dawn can even take first sync for some evasion shenanigans of her own.  Most notably, the special attack drops mean Latias doesn’t hit nearly as hard, and Dawn is good at recovering HP passively.
Solo and Duo Potential There are 27 Solos.  Only SS Cyrus and Sycamore are listed as reasonable, and I don’t even agree with Sycamore; Defense Crush Lucky Skill and get lucky with Bar 2 hits” is not exactly easy.  Cyrus is at least “Just spam Dark Void bro.”  Then again, I routinely use SS Lyra to solo this fight.  She has the potential with MPR on Grassy Terrain, but I hate it.  It’s just not a fun time for anyone.  I sincerely recommend going Duo if you need to.  The main draw of a Duo is really just any offensive option that can handle sides without much issue, and debuff severely.  Defensive support wants to focus on survival, maybe flinch or sleep.  I don’t think it’s particularly easy, but you can probably get away with a few comps.
Moltres The worst fight.  I say this very sincerely, I think Moltres is too tough to be allowed in Gauntlet.  I legitimately do.  If Cresselia is banned for having too little counterplay, so should Moltres.
“But Crystal, Moltres can be flinch locked, and changing the weather ruins it!”  Okay, let’s talk about that.  Did you know there are like 18 weather setters that don’t set Sun in this game?  Only 18.  At least a quarter are eggmons, who have only 2MP.  A decent chunk activate weather only on sync, which means incredibly precise timing.  Many who set weather are techs who are also the primary damage dealers, so you’ll need to quad queue after a sync or attack to apply weather quickly before phase transitions.  Flinching is a viable solution, but you want to run both to have better odds, because flinch locking under Sun has its own problems.  Specifically, what happens when you miss.
In Bar 2, Moltres begins spamming AoE moves.  If even a single one gets through?  Enjoy your entire party being burned.  You will not survive this.  Unless you are Barry, or have a Support with Full Heal or Friend Mend and get lucky enough to refresh everyone?  You do not survive this.  It is an automatic reset, because you missed a 60% chance one time.  And the opening phases of this fight can be brutal.  It’s a lot of specific setup, specific timing, and most damning, pure RNG.  It is a miserable fight.
Team 1: May, Sabrina, Will May is an incredibly strong answer to this fight...provided she has the MPR for it.  You’ll need at least one, but maybe 2.  Will can flinch reliably, while Sabrina carries boosted special attack and accuracy for Muddy Water.  May, as the sync nuker and Rain setter, needs to quad queue, or rely heavily on Will’s flinch in bar transitions.
Team 2: Candice, Sonia, Nanu Sonia is a nice pick for this fight, boosting the crit rate the team needs to function, and providing a lot of healing backbone.  Which you’ll need because Candice is weak to fire.  Nanu’s flinch game has to be immaculate is Candice fails a quad queue.  That said, Candice can land incredibly strong syncs, and only needs one MPR to clear the fight.  Nanu’s Screech supplements her damage so well.  It’s probably worth letting Sonia take first sync if she’s EX.  Better a slow phase 1 than risking a missed KO later.
Team 3: Marlon, Winona, Cyrus Winona is a strong response to this fight, with her flinch rate and ability to set weather.  Marlon gets a lot better under Rain, buffs both defenses for team survival, and notably has Team Pinpoint Entry to ensure Cyrus won’t miss.  Flinch the first Leer, let Winona take first sync to set Rain, and Cyrus should be good.  You’ll have to be a bit lucky with flinches in later Bar 2 and 3, but it’s achievable.
Team 4: Shauna, Acerola, Roark This one actually works better than it appears.  Roark is a fantastic sync nuker, who is supereffective against two of Moltres’ HP Bars.  Acerola has the coveted flinch effect alongside Sandstorm, making her perfect.  What rules about this team is that all DPS is 1-bar.  Even with severely lowered speed, your gauges should be fine.
Solo and Duo Potential You want the ultimate proof that Moltres shouldn’t be allowed to compete?  There are seven solos listed.  This is the lowest number of solos of any Legendary Arena.  Even Cresselia has more, at 10.  Moltres is that ridiculous.  All but Palentines Bea are listed as heavy RNG and reset heavy.  I cannot in good conscience talk about solo and duo potentials, because I feel like they’re insanely frustrating and not worth it when dealing with the bitchbird.
Final Thoughts I hate this Gauntlet.  I’m so sick of Latias.  I never want to see Moltres again.  Uxie’s okay but annoying when it’s partnered with the other two.  This whole set just feels painful, and I don’t like it.  It’s achievable with some general pool tools, but man am I ever not a fan.

Not quite a Tuesday...
But now that we can safely move birds again, I am WELL over cap and have several available to new homes!
Tumblr media
Ellie 1/10/21 January Update Lahore/Modena x VSC/Frillback/OGO Dirty Ash Red bar hen Sired by Sissy out of Valentine 9/3/19 Bred by The Ramsey Loft Vaccinated 7/29/20 for Paratyphoid/Salmonella Vaccinated 3/17/20 for PMV Loft bird $40
Ellie will receive her Paratyphoid Booster tomorrow.
Though she may bond with a new person in a new home, she is currently more interested in other birds than people out in the loft.
She can be a butt to other hens, though that seems to have mellowed.
And she has a history of keeping a favorite mate who is allowed to connect the cloacal kiss during treading, and maintaining one to three sugar daddies on the side, who she will flirt with to get them to feed her, but flatten her tail on the ground when they treat her so that the cloacal kiss can’t connect.
Tumblr media
Gus 1/11/21 January Update Lahore-Modena x Giant Homer Dirty Bronze Blue t-pattern check Sired by Dudley out of Agnes 9/5/19 Bred by The Ramsey Loft Vaccinated 7/29/20 for Paratyphoid/Salmonella (to be updated tomorrow) Vaccinated 3/17/20 for PMV Retired $30
Gus is a nearly two pound chicken of a pigeon that flies like a bowling ball.
He may allow himself to be preened on very rare occasion, only if he’s explicitly asked “Gus, can I preen you?” with one finger extended, but not touching him. If he reaches out to preen the finger tip, his handler may preen his cheek. Turning his head away means no.
He happily takes safflower seeds and likes to vibe on a knee, thigh, or shoulder.
He is not to be bred under any circumstances, due to a genetic tendency for painful flight feather cysts that I would rather not pass on to a new generation.
I would prefer him to be a house pet, as he likes people and will be happier indoors with a person he can chill with than out in a loft.
Tumblr media
Cody 1/12/21 January Update COF-Racing Homer x Frillback-Giant Homer Pied Almond Brown T-pattern cock het for Grizzle, toy stencil and frill stencil Sired by Betty out of Hagrid 11/3/19 Bred by The Ramsey Loft Vaccinated 7/29/20 for Paratyphoid/Salmonella (to be updated tomorrow) Vaccinated 3/17/20 for PMV Loft Bird $40
Cody used to be very human friendly, but after having to be treated for worms in December, he is no longer comfortable with hands.
He is an excellent father with five clutches to his name.
Tight setter, devoted pumper, not usually distressed by egg or peep checks.
He would be an excellent addition to a breeding project.
Tumblr media
Dodger 1/18/21 January Update Feral Dirty Sooty Smoky Blue Check hen Aprox DOB: 4/3/20 Found with Alex 4/28/20 Surrendered 4/29/20 Paratyphoid booster administered 1/19/21 PMV booster administered 6/5/20 Retired $30
Dodger is an extremely skittish bird, retired due to neurological complications from calcium deficiency.
When stressed, her legs stop working and she colapses.
She recovers in minutes, if removed from the stressful situation.
Though she may well make a full recovery eventually, it would be best for her health not to allow her to breed.
Tumblr media
Alex 1/19/21 January Update Feral Dirty Blue Bar cock Aprox DOB: 4/11/20 Found with Dodger 4/28/20 Surrendered 4/29/20 Paratyphoid booster administered 1/19/20 PMV booster administered 5/16/20 Retired $30
Alex is a lot more bold than Dodger, but, being feral, is not quite brave enough to sit on a knee or shoulder for more than a few seconds.
He started showing the same neurological complications as Dodger this week, so it will also be in his best interest not to be bred.
Tumblr media
Indica 1/24/21 January Updates Lucerne-STRH x Lahore-Modena-VSC-FB-OGO Sooty Ash Red Bar cock Sired by Vynni out of Ellie 4/19/20 Bred by The Ramsey Loft PMV booster administered 6/21/20 Paratyphoid booster administered 1/19/21 Companion $50
Indica extremely human social, often wanting to get into what ever I am doing, when not flirting with his husband or harassing his flockmates.
I’d prefer he be adopted with his husband, if possible, but if not, he would be happy as a house pet.
Indica is Bi, and may pair up with a hen in a new loft, but he would need flock mates bigger than him who could stand up to his aggressive bullying and not be walked all over.
He has attempted to drive a few hens, but hasn't tried to tread any yet, so whether or not he is likely to pair with a hen is uncertain.
Tumblr media
Pookie 12/24/20 6 Months Old Feral x ODC-STRH Ash Red Bar Cock Sired by Pippin out of Cookie 6/24/20 Bred by The Ramsey Loft Paratyphoid boosters administered 1/19/21 PMV boosters administered 9/9/20 Loft Bird $40
Pookie has no interest in people, just Indica and general mayhem.
I would prefer he and Indica be adopted together, but if they can’t be, Pookie is also Bi.
Other than Indica, Pookie has flirt with and tread several hens, so he is very likely to pair up with some one in a new loft.
Tumblr media
Frito 1/13/21 4 Months Old COF-RH-FB-GH x COF-RH Almond pied Ash Red check cock Sired by Cody out of Rigby 9/13/20 Bred by The Ramsey Loft PMV and Paratyphoid boosters administered 11/15/20 Loft Bird $40
Frito is the most independent bird presently in the Loft.
He washed from Therapy training around six weeks of age due to vehement dislike of harness work.
He is uninterested in me entirely, and doesn’t interact with other pigeons very often either.
He has recently claimed a nest box which he is able to defend, but has made no attempt to practice wooing a mate yet.
He will be happiest as a loft bird.
For more information about the birds, our breeding project, or to make an appointment to visit the loft, you can email [email protected] or call/text 706-993-7452.
Though we prefer local pick up, shipping is available with in the continental US.
Shipping boxes are $10
I will need your zip code to calculate postage.
Shipping boxes are designed around the physiology of the birds. They are sturdy corrugated cardboard, which is surprisingly well insulated! There are air holes all down the sides, but only across the top in front: taking advantage of the fact that hot air rises. As hot air leaves the top holes, cool air is drawn in the lower ones. Air holes are covered by a filter, which provides a few benefits: Keeping the bird and its mess contained, moderate protection from outside contaminants, and most importantly, darkness.
Pigeons are diurnal. Deprived of light, they basically shut off and fall asleep. If they could see and were active, more than 24 hours with out water would leave them dangerously dehydrated. But while they sleep, their digestion is drastically slowed, allowing them to conserve water and calories for days longer than they could while active.
I line the boxes with two layers of paper towels and send seeds with them, but there is no safe or legal way to send water, which is why keeping them in the dark for the trip is so important.
Live birds travel by ground, to protect them in case of hazardous materials ending up in the same scheduled shipment. If that happens, the live animal is simply delayed until the next scheduled truck or sent along a different rout.
Some times this results in delays. It is not uncommon for a bird to arrive a day or so later than projected, but pigeons travel very well and I have never had one arrive in poor condition.
When the bird gets home, show them where water and food are, and only let them explore once they've had a drink.
They will be more interested in drinking than eating for the first few days, and you will see it in their very wet poo. Once they re-balance, you will see their poo firming back up again. It usually takes them about a week to balance back out.
Yes, I am aware of the delays to postal service and the losses of reptiles and hatchery chicks.
Livestock does not go through the sorting machines. They are moved by hand.
Reptiles are not usually shipped in boxes that look different from regular mail, so they can be easily lost by overwhelmed staff.
Hatchery chicks are shipped out before they have a first meal because it’s cheaper to replace them if they die than feed them for a week.
The crates made for pigeons and other legal poultry are designed around bird physiology and air thermodynamics, keeping the birds cool and asleep most of the trip. They are not shaped like the average box used for shipping inanimate objects, and they stand out like a sore thumb, making them harder to misplace or lose track of. Healthy Pigeons over 6 weeks old who start the journey well hydrated are comfortably travel safe up to 7 days.

Rosenhex Dorm Building
The sixth youngest amongst the eight dorms, Rosenhex was founded on the teachings of the Witch of the Rose and thus incorporates primarily imagery related to the seaside and Mediterranean coast towns. The general atmosphere is a calm, relaxed one where the students enjoy the calming sounds of the sea and the fresh air in a mostly warm climate with regular rain showers. It is one of the medium sized dorms and it resembles a Mediterranean summer vacation mansion.
Entrance
The entrance to the dorm is a hidden keyhole on the door to the shed to the third botanical garden. Though simplistic in aesthetic, using the dorm key to open it will transport the student to the shore of the dorm. There they will find a stone staircase leading up to the hill where the dorm is situated.
Lounge
The Rosenhex lounge is an open courtyard, with wicker chairs and wooden tables situated all around. It is somewhat placed in the shade, so the girls can rest there even on a hot day. The surrounding architecture resembles a rustic style which is predominantly made of stone, along with vines and greenery abounding on top and down the walls. Those are mostly white, though the colour is very faded. Generally you can always find a few Rosenhex witches laying around enjoying the day and weather while idly chatting with one another about all sorts of topics.
Student Dorms
The dorm follows a minimalist, rustic design inside as well. The rooms have large windows so as to be able to let the sun come in easily, with the only important furniture being the bed, wardrobe and desk. The space is somewhat small, and because Rosenhex is one of the smaller dorms the rooms are singles. The wardrobe doors and the headboard and footboard are the most elaborate parts of the room, as they both employ specific symbols in their decor. Among them chief is the scallop that is often surrounded by imagery of doves carrying roses in their beaks. The only exception to this is the Prefect’s room which replaces the doves with swans instead.
Generally students are allowed to decorate their room however they want to, as long as they keep to the overall theme and do not choose anything too gaudy or clashing. This often means that the witches will choose to hang all sorts of pictures and portraits on their walls instead of adding any new piece of furniture, though exceptions have been noted as well.
Library
Though smaller in size than the regular dorm libraries, Rosenhex contains a sizeable collection of books on hexes, charms, social etiquette, art history, fashion and other such topics. Unlike the rest of the dorm building where it’s customary to leave the windows open, here they are permanently shut to avoid the humidity from affecting the conditions of the books there. The girls in charge of the library change every month so most students end up working there at some point or another.
Dining Room
The largest room in the dorm as it needs to house all of the members during breakfast and dinner, it is reminiscent of the typical rustic style that’s been associated with the rest of the dorm. The tables are long and made of strong oak wood, and accompanied by long benches which are standard for all the dorms. The room faces the ocean, offering the girls a beautiful sight while they eat, and the columns that are part of the room are decorated with a similar imagery that is found in the bedrooms.
Kitchen
Much like the rest of the architecture, it retains the simple, Spartan style which makes use of the minimalist aesthetic. It is predominantly utilitarian, even if the technology inside is rather old-fashioned, forcing the girls to rely on a mixture of magic and hard work to ensure that everything is taken care of and works properly.
Generally the girls take shifts when it comes to cleaning duty, with the meals usually being prepared by the Nisse Tomte who are given the night before a list of what they should prepare for breakfast and dinner the following day. The most popular dishes in this dorm are ones that contain chicken, fish meat, vegetables and fruits. Rosenhex witches are known for looking after their health and thus have a tendency to opt for food which is considered healthy for the body.
Special Feature: Beach
The pride of Rosenhex is the beautiful beach that extends all around the dorm building. It is the single most respected place in the entire dorm territory and the girls are required to take extra care of it and make sure it is always clean. It is traditional for witches of this dorm to spend an hour jogging on the beach as a tribute to the long journey the Witch of the Rose was said to have undergone before she met the Lady of Beauty. The starting point and finish line is an old statue, which, though in a very bad state, is still recognizable as depicting the figure of a beautiful, bald woman.
Some have theorized that the statue might represent the Witch of the Rose, as some myths claim that after swearing allegiance to her new Master, the witch shaved her head entirely as a means of showing her humility towards her saviour. It’s unclear however if this is true or not, but there have been cases of Rosenhex witches shaving their heads for their graduation as a sign of honouring the values of the dorm.
Rosenhex Stereotypes
Tumblr media
Many make the mistake of writing off witches from this dorm as merely pretty faces with not a shred of wit to them. While Rosenhex certainly insists that one’s physical appearance be always well-maintained and looked after, they do not consider it acceptable for one to neglect their mind either. It’s true that while they might not excel in academic pursuits in the same manner the Grimmaire dorm does, they certainly should not be discredited. If one were to look at the history of the dorm, they would notice that Rosenhex has continuously placed in the top during finals ever since its founding. That is mostly because in order to properly understand the nature of charms and hexes one must have a sharp mind and outside-the-box thinking.
Due to the lifestyle of the dorm, Rosenhex witches tend to be very strong swimmers and are for the most part members of the swimming team. One of their favorite activities is to spend time on the beach or swim in the sea as they compete against each other.
Most of the members of this dorm are humans (70%) with the remaining (30%) being either beastman or fae. Merfolk students are very rare for this dorm.
Fruit bowls filled with golden apples are a common feature of this dorm. The reason for this is that it was said that the Lady of Beauty held this fruit as her symbol of triumph over others when a young shepherd declared her to be the most beautiful creature to walk the earth. Thus the golden apple has become sacred to the dorm as well, with witches usually preferring it as a light snack in between meals.
Witches of this dorm are the most upset about the school’s strict uniform rules, since it means they are not allowed to fully express themselves aesthetically. They are generally the ones that push the limits by wearing very light make-up, trying out interesting hairstyles or decorating their phone cases in outrageous styles. As a result they are usually seen as the trend-setters of the school, to the point that even beehives were considered very fashionable during a time.
Because of their talent at hexes, Rosenhex witches usually function as matchmakers for the Spring Debutante Ball. Offering counseling for the girls who want to find dates for the event, they rely on two particular books “The Sword” and “The Raven” which are long accounts of the students from Royal Sword Academy and Night Raven College. They detail things such as the boys’ height, appearance, disposition, school grades and even general dietary preferences. The books are considered so valuable that only the oldest members of the dorm have access to it. When they graduate they pass it down to another witch, chosen by them.
Witches of this dorm get along best with their domovoy. The house spirits have not only taken after them when it came to personal grooming, eagerly decorating their beards to receive compliments from the girls, but also are very involved in their everyday going-ons. It is not unheard of for the domovoy to help out the girls with getting ready for the day or pick out their outfits for important events.
Bathing is a very important ritual for this dorm. It was said that the Lady of Beauty held cleanliness in high regard, and those that enraged her were often punished in regards to that. The girls make sure to look after their personal hygiene with utmost care.

Hi admins! I hope you're both doing well💕 i always love reading your works! If it's ok, may i request HCs of Ushijima, suga and sakusa from haikyuu with an s/o with sensitive skin? like they have to make sure their environment is clean as possible, not too much dust or sweating, keep their skin hydrated, etc. or else they'll start itching. this is a little self indulgent hehe and probably why i immediately fell in love w sakusa😳 sorry if this is too specific or long, but thank you so much!!
Hello anon~! Of course you can~! I’m so sorry this took so long to get out! But I really appreciate the patience~! I hope you enjoy this as much as I did with writing it~! As always, thank you so much for requesting with us~! Also, no need to apologize for this being too long or specific! It definitely helps to be detailed so that way I know I won’t mess this up~!

In all honesty, Ushijima won’t notice right away. Due to his lack of observation of those around him and picking up social cues, it -- for better or for worse -- takes him a hot second to actually notice how keen and diligent they are in keeping their skin hydrated and healthy.
It’s without a doubt that the entire team knows of their skin condition, and after the first week, finally had the guts to tell and explain to Ushijima exactly why they were acting the way they were before and after stopping by to watch their practice.
He’s baffled, of course, and immediately goes to apologize to them with a deep 90 degree bow. It’s from then on that the dynamic between them both is completely different.
He’s much more in tune with their surroundings and adamantly asks what the condition of the gym or arena’s air is like before entering.  If he’s aware that they want to support and attend his games, he will do whatever it takes to at least make sure they’ll be safe.
If there is any chance that the change in air conditioning or the amount of people around the area you’ll be seated exceeds what he expects he’ll have them return home immediately.
In his own unique way, he’ll find the oddest things to help treat their skin. Be it strange mixes that he’s learned from his grandmother or during his time perusing the internet, he’ll have something in mind to try and help-- even if they end up being more detrimental than good.
Without a doubt, he’ll have their specific type of lotion at hand almost always. Along with their favorite wipes and a change of clothes.
Tumblr media
ꜱᴜɢᴀᴡᴀʀᴀ ᴋᴏꜱʜɪ
Unlike Ushijima, he practically finds out right away. He’s observant to a fault, and will adamantly push the idea of keeping the gym clean into all the VBC members’ heads.
They’re confused at first, but gradually each come to understand the setter’s strong desire to keep the entire gym clean.
He’s completely doting on them, and will consistently check up on them whenever he has the chance to whilst keeping a good distance away, especially if it’s after he’s played for a while. As affectionate as he loves to be with them, he doesn’t want to risk possibly being the cause of a flare up in their skin.
Similar to Ushijima, he’ll practically have everything they need on hand. Majority being in his locker, but he’ll have a small kit in his backpack and in their medic bag in case they need to hurriedly treat / clean for them.
Sugawara is, without a doubt, the kindest out of the three and won’t hesitate to show a soft side to them when he’s taking care of them.
The others tend to joke about that he’s being a mother hen to them, but he brushes it off. To him, they’re his light and he wants them to not only be safe, but happy.
Tumblr media
ꜱᴀᴋᴜꜱᴀ ᴋɪʏᴏᴏᴍɪ
The most clean out of the three, and immediately notices the difference between them and those around him. Despite his anti-social nature, he can’t help but be attached to them.
With how well they clean and keep to themselves, it’s not a surprise to his cousin when he sees the pair walking side by side (a respectable distance from one another) whilst having casual conversation.
It’s from that, that Sakusa learns of their skin condition and without him even consciously knowing, tucked the information deep into his mind.
He perks up at the mention of how they properly care for and maintain their skin’s health whilst taking mental note of the specific types of products they use. (Both cleaning and hygienic).
The whole team comes to an abrupt halt when a situation occurs that they require assistance in caring for their skin. Of course it’s chaos as they all frantically find what they need in order to help them, but the moment Sakusa approaches with his bag and immediately starts pulling out everything that they’re used to using, they all just know that perhaps their ace has feelings for them.
It comes to an understanding to all that associate themselves with Sakusa that he absolutely will not allow them into a place he deems unclean or dangerous. It’s rather endearing-- though the fights they both have when it comes to them wanting to support them and him wanting them safe, is nothing short but comical.

4 to 10 - Sugawara Koushi
Tumblr media
credits to @kvsagi for the Suga art!
Tags: Timeskip! Sick Suga x Doctor! Reader, No Specific Gender for Reader, Angst
Synopsis: Suga has been diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis ever since he was 18, a few days after he graduated from high school. He works as an author in the hospital room he currently lives in. When he was 26, you entered the hospital as an official resident doctor and you were assigned to him.
In the beginning, it was just wheezing. After serving a ball to the ace, Suga just needed a few minutes to breathe air back into his system - nothing else.
It slowly became long nights of consistent coughing. It was just a dust allergy - nothing more. Almost all his family members had it - his allergic reactions were just stronger.
It became shorter hours of practice and any forms of exercise. His lungs were just weaker than the rest of the team's. It didn't mean that he was not as skilled as them - he just had to work more efficiently - more success, less time.
Then came the first lung infection.
Then the next.
Then the next.
Then the next.
It was no longer something he could just write off anymore.
Then came the tests; one sweat test and one genetic test.
The next time people saw him, he carried a bag connected to a tube that was in his nose.
He could still live his life normally - he just needed regular checkups. The only thing he needed to do was keep his distance, keep clean and not mess up.
That's all he needed to do, right?
The attacks got worse and worse.
His lungs became so fragile the slightest amount of dust or germ could kill him.
If he wanted to live, he needed to live in the hospital.
Until his clock stopped working, he needed to stay in the white walls of the Hospital of Tokyo forever - and that is what he did.
For the next 8 years of his life, he stayed in the hospital as a 'permanent resident' and lived peacefully.
His life consisted of college online, eating, studying, cleaning his lungs, talking with the other 'permanent residents' or just 'guests', playing with kids in the pediatric ward and sleep.
That was his life - and he didn't hate it.
He soon graduated from college and university and became an author - a well-known one, may I add.
He still talked to his friends from high school - Daichi and Asahi being common visitors with the occasional visit from Kageyama and Hinata.
This was his life until his life ended.
But all that changed when you came into the hospital for the first time.
Sugawara was never one to eye at the doctors or the nurses in the hospital - he believed that it was irrational and very wrong. Yet, you somehow changed his mind almost instantly.
He couldn't muster the bravery to even welcome you on your first day by himself, despite everyone who knew him literally pushing him to do so.
He begged all of the nurses to introduce him to you, but they all wanted him to do it by himself.
"Staring at our newest doctor, huh?" said Sugawara's doctor, Hizashi Yamada from behind him.
"You want me to introduce you to them?" He asked, smiling deviously.
Soon, Suga's doctor brought him to meet you, despite all of Suga's resistance to it.
"Hello, Y/N-sensei. Welcome to the Hospital of Tokyo. It is a pleasure to have someone so well-versed in our hospital as a permanent doctor," said Hizashi-sensei.
He placed his hand out, only for you to shake it. "No need for the praises, Yamada-sensei. The fact you recognized me is a privilege itself."
"This," Yamada-sensei pulled Suga forward, "Is Sugawara Koushi. He has been admitted to our hospital ever since he was eighteen."
Suga blushed furiously.
He wasn't ready to meet you up close so quickly. He wanted to admire you from afar for at least another two more days so that he could learn about your interests, but fate wasn't on his side this time.
Not to mention, you were a doctor, too! One of the younger ones, too... and hotter...
Suga awoke from his daze when he saw your gloved hand reach out to his to give him a handshake. "Pleasure to meet you, Sugawara-san. I believe you are an author? My sister loves your books!"
Suga was internally thanking Daichi for telling him to become an author.
Suga raised his hand to meet yours in a handshake. "The pleasure is all mine."
"As you both know, I am retiring this year," Yamada-sensei said, making both you and Suga face him.
"I've discussed with the board. Y/N-sensei, you'll be in charge of Suga starting tomorrow. I will send all the information about his condition soon," He ended off with a smile.
Wait - you were in charge of him?
Suga was shaking even more now.
It would no longer be Yamada-sensei seeing the uglier side of him but the very person he was developing a crush on.
"Fate works in mysterious ways, huh?" you said, breaking Suga's train of thought.
"I guess it was good I met you today then, Sugawara-san," you ended with a cheerful smile.
"I leave myself in your care then, Y/N-sensei," Suga said while bowing to you.
"Just call me Y/N. I think you're older than me, anyway," you said, laughing a bit. "I'll see you tomorrow!"
You walked towards the nurses that were calling you, leaving an extremely red Sugawara in the middle of the foyer.
The next day stood as a challenge for the silver-haired male.
He was going to act as good as he can so that your job could be as simple as it can be - no cheeky comments, no playful jokes.
Just being a boring, normal patient for the few hours you'd be in his room.
Well, that resolve almost failed immediately when you came in and begged for a conversation with him.
"It's too quiet for me to work properly, Sugawara-san. I know you think that keeping the room quiet helps, but the tension in the room is a bit too strong for me to work normally," you said, aching for some noise to come out of him.
But he didn't say anything - not even a noise.
"If you don't say anything in the next few minutes, I am going to begin talking a bit too much and trust me, you don't want that."
You turned to prepare the machine to remove the excess mucus in his lungs.
"You can call me Suga-san if you want," Suga whispered, scared to speak as loud as he usually does.
You chuckled and turned to face him. "I was going to call you Koushi-kun, whether you liked it or not."
"So, Koushi-kun," you started, "where and when does this author's life begin?"
He chuckled softly. "I was actually born in Miyagi. I was a replacement setter for the volleyball team in my school. Then again, I played a few times even when our main setter was there."
"What school?"
"Karasuno."
You opened your eyes in shock. "Wait - you were part of the Karasuno's volleyball team that went to nationals back then!"
He stared at your wonder-filled eyes and smiled. "Yeah, I was."
"So you know Hinata Shoyo and Kageyama Tobio? The Japan players?"
Pride swelled in him when he heard those two names. "Yeah, I do. I actually taught Hinata the basics."
"You've done well, my friend," you said, earning a laugh from the 26-year old.
And that small conversation began the long conversations you both had when you were doing long hours in the hospital.
After handling other patients, you'd often spend time with Koushi in his room with the pretence of 'I'm his doctor - it's my duty to be with him most of the time.'
But that was far from the truth, wasn't it?
You were developing feelings for your own patient.
How could you not fall for him?
Behind the beautiful exterior of his was a man of true beauty itself.
He was a hard worker - spent most of his time working on his new project.
He was kind - helped the nurses with managing the kids in the pediatric ward when they went for their lunch break.
He was the ideal man for anyone.
Time passed and you had been taking care of the former setter for the past two years.
He introduced you to his friends - Asahi, Daichi, Kageyama and Hinata, if you remember correctly - when they came over.
They soon became close friends of yours too - despite your fangirling over the Japan volleyball players. They often spent hours on end with Suga in his room.
All of you enjoyed the small talks you all had together and talked about the things happening in the outside world - be it a small injury or someone's wedding.
"Y/N-san, what about you? Are you in a relationship?" the orange-haired man asked, a small yet beaming smile on his lips.
You instantly blushed and looked at Sugawara. His eyes focused solely on you, taking you in.
"I've been single my whole life. I don't think I'd be getting into a relationship soon, too. The doctor's life doesn't really revolve around romance, despite all the TV shows and movies," you ended, earning snickers from almost everyone in the room.
"How about the rest of you? Is there a conquest of love happening in your lives?" you asked. Now my turn to grin.
Both Kageyama and Hinata stared at one another, faces beet red.
Koushi sighed. "Why can't you both just tell that you're a couple? We all knew ever since high school."
"How did you all know?" Kageyama shouted. You immediately shushed him, earning a small 'sorry' from him.
"You both aren't quiet in the storage room, you know?" Daichi said. Everyone except the couple began laughing hysterically.
"Damn, the money I'd get if I leaked this to the news," you jokingly said, teasing the two players.
When the clock showed 8pm, you pushed the four of the visitors out of Suga's room.
Their time had ended and they needed to head home.
Once they left, you felt a tug on your doctor's coat. You saw Koushi asking you back into the room, not ready for you to leave yet.
"Is everything okay?" You asked him, worried about his health.
"Do you feel like there isn't enough oxygen in your tank? I can always get you a replacement right now-" Koushi placed his finger on your lips.
"Please, just listen to what I have to say," he asked, his eyes begging you to listen to him.
You closed the door behind the two of you. He pulled you to sit beside him on his bed.
"I know I don't have much time left. I already had 10 years after diagnosis when the norm is 4," he said, chuckling.
You wanted to intervene - hell, the sentence was already prepared in your head - but you didn't. From what it looked like, he wanted you to just accept whatever he had to say.
"My drive to write is long gone - I can barely write a sentence I like anymore. I love playing with the kids, but I feel like I would just disturb them rather than entertaining them. I - I feel my life slipping away from my fingers, Y/N..." he said, tears forming around his eyes.
"Yet, when I see you walk along the halls of the hospital, I feel re-energized. I only met you two years ago, but I already am so dependant on you - and not just as a doctor. You are the only thing that makes me want to get up in the morning. You are the only thing I think of when I fall asleep. You are..." he gripped on your wrist, "the only thing I want right now."
"Koushi-kun..."
"I love you, Y/N. I didn't want you to leave today without knowing this. I love you so much - as a doctor and as a person."
You hugged the male in front of you, letting his tears fall on your jacket.
"I know you can't reciprocate my feelings, but I just needed you to know."
You gripped on his shirt.
This was the only man you've ever wanted, but you could never have him.
You held your tears back as you walked out of his room.
The next day was just a blur.
The mucus in his lungs built up at an extremely fast pace.
A severe infection formed in his lungs.
You rushed from your apartment to the hospital to conduct surgery as fast as you could.
Luck, however, wasn't on your side.
In the midst of the surgery, the electrocardiogram flatlined.
Sugawara Koushi was pronounced dead at 3:45 am at the Hospital of Tokyo on the 19th of December in the year 2022.
I hope you enjoyed the fanfic! As always, if you have ideas or tropes you'd like me to try, don't hesitate to leave a suggestion here! ‘it’s all too much.’ you think to yourself, writing the final lines of the letter you wish to leave behind.
‘it hurts so much.’
you placed your pen on top of the letter, leaving it on the desk. you spun slowly, taking in image of your bedroom, the only safe space you’ve had in a long time. a small photo taped on the wall caught your eye. it was a picture of an anime character, tooru oikawa. you found yourself walking towards it, and gently placing a hand on it. you sighed to yourself, “if only you were real.”
maybe if he were real, he’d talk you out of this. if he were real, you’d have an ounce of happiness you so longed for. but he isn’t.
the harsh truth slapped you, and you realize you’ve been staring at the picture for quite a bit.
dressed in your favorite clothes, you left your room, earphones plugged in with music blasting at full volume. you walked across your rooftop, the wind messing up your hair. you watch the clouds go by, sitting at the edge of the roof.
――
at the other end of the universe, a whistle blew, signalling a point for a team. tooru pants, flashing a smile at hajime. aoba johsai managed to force karasuno into a deuce for their third set. “iwa-chan.” he calls out, hearing the familiar song at the back of his head.
“they’re listening to it again.” he exclaimed. hajime looks at him briefly, “again? it must be their favorite song, then.”
“listen, trashykawa. i know they’re your soulmate but you gotta focus.” he reprimanded, now looking at the other end of the court, where karasuno are staring at them with such tenacity. they all are after the same thing, to be the team that wins.
“i’ll find you. i promise.” tooru whispers to himself, just as the umpire blows the whistle. tooru sends another serve, even more determined to win this match. in his head, the sooner they win, the sooner he could look for his soulmate.
there’s no distance he won’t go through to look for the one the universe gave him.
――
you looked down at the pavement below. taking a deep breath, you stand up and turn around from the edge. there were no more tears to shed at this point. staring back up at the sky, you felt tears drip down your face as you began to apologize.
you started to apologize to those you felt still cared. to those you have hurt, those who have hurt you. you began apologizing to yourself, knowing you deserve better than what you received, that you deserve better than how other people have treated you, how you treated yourself.
finally, you whispered your apologies to your soulmate. you apologized for never getting to meet them, for not being strong enough to push through. and you pray to whatever greater being there is, for your soulmate to be happy, and for them to understand that this… this is the only thing to stop the pain.
the wind will carry your apologies for you.
the tears you shed were not because you were sad, on the contrary, it’s more so because you felt like you were in charge of your life for once.
you stepped back, letting yourself fall with no regrets, because you’ll be at peace.
――
just as akira managed to send the ball to the other side of the court, tooru felt a sharp pain in his chest. “iwa-” he choked out, his hands clutching his chest before falling to his knees. their coach noticed the captain in pain and called for a time-out almost immediately. hajime knelt down in front of his best friend, asking him what’s wrong.
“iwa, my heart and head hurts. why is my heart hurting so much?” tooru grunted in pain, tears leaking out of his eyes. both teams gathered around the pair, but the setter didn’t mind. he just wanted the pain to stop. hajime looked to their team for help, but none of them knew what was going on. tooru never had any health conditions aside from his injured knee.
he grabbed the ace’s arm and squeezed, barely breathing due to the immense pain he’s feeling. “my body feels weird, and everything hurts!” he sobbed, not caring about how loud he was.
the aoba johsai coaches got through the crowd and hooked their arms under tooru’s. “you’re gonna have to stand up, oikawa.” the head coach says, before they hoisted him up. at least, tried to.
the brunet’s knees gave out and he fell forwards, his fellow third years catching him.
“what’s happening? please, make it stop!” he wails, the pain increasing by the second. his head was pounding, he could barely make out anything that’s happening around him. their coach tries to get him to describe the pain as the head coach calls an ambulance.
“it hurts! please!” he begs to no one in particular. the last thing tooru remembers is hajime’s worried face hovering over him.
all around him was brightness.
the pain in his chest has dulled, and the headache is practically non-existent. searing white lights stung his eyes as they opened. he noticed he was at the hospital, judging from the white gown he wore. tooru bolted up, waking the sleeping hajime and issei. “oh, oikawa. you’re awake. i’ll go get the nurse.” the latter says in a hurry.
“iwa-chan, what happened? what about the game-”
“we lost.” hajime interrupted. “but that’s not important.”
tooru looked appalled. “not important? iwa-chan, the game is important. what happened when i was out?”
his friend stood up, and started to pace around the room. “i… i don’t know how to tell you.”
tooru wanted to burst, but seeing the expression on hajime’s face made him falter. “what is it? was it tobio-chan? or the shrimp? i’d be surprised if it was mr. refreshing-”
“it’s not about the game, oikawa.”
he stopped talking. hajime would only use the name ‘oikawa’ in serious matters. “...hajime?”
“the pain you felt… shit, i don’t know how to tell you.”
the captain felt tears brimming in his eyes as he whimpered out, “please.”
hajime sighed, and sat on the chair beside the bed. he took a deep breath and said in a soft voice, “there isn’t an easy way to tell you this. i wish there was.”
there was a long pause before he spoke again. “the pain you felt… it is because your soulmate died.”
tooru didn’t have the energy to protest, he didn’t even  have the energy to speak. he just let his tears fall, and he let hajime rub his back in comforting circles. the deafening silence of the room was occasionally broken by the sound of his pained sobs and whimpers.
and just like that, the two most important things to tooru oikawa are gone.

Day 1: Rule the Court
B. Seasons (well, a mix of both A and B)
The same way the seasons change, what Oikawa felt towards volleyball changed too.
Summer
It was a very hot summer, the air was humid, the sun blazed, and Oikawa Toru had just discovered volleyball. His soft brown eyes were glued to the T.V. screen, a glimmer in them as he watched the match unfold. Though he enjoyed watching the ball go back and forth at incredible speeds between the two teams, he couldn't help but notice how one person on the court seemed to outshine the rest.
The man's fingertips would brush against the ball, making sure to reach those coming in from behind or beside him. He seemed to be aware of his surroundings, the conditions of not just his teammates, but those on the other side of the court as well. Without doing anything that stood out, he'd make sure his teammates were at their level best.
Whatever he did, didn't seem too flashy, but something about it sparked a fire in Oikawa's chest, giving him a torch to light the path to his future. Oikawa knew what he wanted to do, he wanted to play volleyball.
He made sure to pester his best friend Iwaizumi until he agreed to practice with him. Though Iwaizumi seemed reluctant at first, he too, developed a love for the sport.
Together, the two boys would practice whenever they had the opportunity. Oikawa tried his hand at setting, just like the man he saw on television, slowly getting better at the task.
Autumn
Oikawa was now in his third year of middle school and his skills had improved to a great extent. He practiced daily and tried to be a setter who made his spikers shine on court. Together with his team, they managed to defeat almost every opponent that stood before them.
Oikawa felt as if he was a great setter, no one in the prefecture could beat him, that is, until Kageyama Tobio made his way onto the team.
This small, quiet first year who seemed to have no care in the world, made Oikawa boil with rage. Why was it that this boy could say he wanted to play the position of setter so easily? That was Oikawa's role on the team and he wasn't planning on giving it up to a newcomer.
However, it wasn't long before Oikawa realized just how dangerously amazing this first year was. Kageyama simply had pure, raw talent, something he seemed to be unaware of. He was still a little rough around the edges, but given proper training, he could outshine Oikawa.
The thought that he could eventually be replaced haunted the third year setter. The fear of losing what meant the world to him, was something that ate the poor boy alive. Seeing Kageyama play stung like needles, moulding the fear in his heart into something very plausible.
To prove he was more capable than his junior, Oikawa trained as hard as he could, or so he thought. During practice matches, his thoughts would drift from volleyball to the ugly fears consuming him. No matter what he did, he was unable to set the ball. He was rapidly accelerating towards the very thing he was so desperately trying to protect. He was replaced by Kageyama.
Winter
Oikawa, along with his teammates finally made it to the finals. The third years could go to the nationals in their last year as middle school students. They could go home victorious.
Their final opponent, Ushijima Wakatoshi, stood on the opposite side of the court, a cool and calm look in his eyes. He didn't seem to be worried at all, he appeared to be anything but.
Eyeing Ushijima, Oikawa raised an eyebrow, wondering how confident the boy before him was. Did he really think without a second thought that Oikawa and the team were going to lose against him? Was he so certain that he could take on this team that worked hard to get to where they were? If that was what he was thinking, Oikawa would show him just how wrong he was.
Throughout the match, no matter the odds, the setter didn't lose a single ounce of hope. Until the ball hit the floor for the last time, Oikawa struggled to keep up with those on the other side of the net. He couldn't give up, for his team was relying on him. He had to prove to them that he deserved to be their setter.
After experiencing a crushing defeat, Oikawa vowed that he'd make Ushijima feel the same way he did. He would become stronger, someone who wouldn't let his teammates carry the pain of defeat in their hearts.
The ice gnawing inside Oikawa, was slowly capturing the fire that had burned so brightly, making it dimmer and dimmer. The terrifying blizzard had yet to melt away.
Now in his final year of high school, Oikawa had gradually learned what was truly required of him as a setter. He wasn't special, that much he was aware of. He knew he had to do what was best for his teammates. During matches, it would be impossible to remain in peak condition, but it was his job to ensure that even at their lowest, they would still be able to play.
Since the end of middle school till his third year in high school, Oikawa also learned that training constantly didn't equate to being better and stronger. In actuality, it meant the exact opposite. He had learned to take a break every now and then, so that he could maintain his health, both physically and mentally.
This year was Aoba Johsai's last chance to defeat Ushijima and the rest of Shiratorizawa, something they still were unable to make a reality in the past two years. Oikawa was certain victory was in their reach. He had faith in his team and in his skills as their captain.
However, there was another thorn in his path, the Flightless Crows, Karasuno, a team that seemed to have risen from the shadows. They weren't the best, but they were certainly commendable. Not only did they have Kageyama, but a spiker who could keep up with him. The duo seemed make use of Kageyama's sets and the spiker, Hinata Shouyou's, speed, making Karasuno a worthy opponent in Oikawa's eyes.
The preliminaries went by, with Karasuno being the toughest wall to break in order to get to Shiratorizawa. However, Oikawa's promise to defeat Ushijima was once again shattered as the ball dropped a final time.
Even after this, Oikawa still prayed that they'd be able to come out victorious in their next and final chance.
For Oikawa going to nationals would have been amazing, it was an obvious dream of his, however, his stubbornness to prove Ushijima wrong was something that held just as important a place in his heart. He felt as if defeating his rival would make him realize that Oikawa didn't need to be the strongest like him. He needed to be strong enough to solidify the strength of those that stood by his side. Aoba Johsai didn't rely on a single person's strength, but that of the six members on court and all of those that weren't.
Though the captain was aware that Karasuno was going to stir up even more trouble for them than last time, what he wasn't expecting was them all to have matured immensely in the short span they hadn't seen each other. Forget facing Shiratorizawa, Karasuno was going to be a challenge in and of itself.
Unlike the previous match against Karasuno, this one proved to be even more difficult. Their libero's defense, their Captain's level-headedness, and that Freak Duo of theirs, was a tiresome obstacle which Oikawa really wished to overcome. But what became of the match, ripped any wish and dream Oikawa had regarding nationals.
Aoba Johsai lost.
Everything Oikawa lived for, turned to dust before his now glistening eyes.
The heat of his tears against his skin wasn't enough to melt the freezing emptiness he felt inside.
Spring
A cool breeze brushed against Oikawa's cheeks, ruffling his hair in the process. He didn't mind; he was at such a place in life that made him glad he didn't give up volleyball. Oikawa had moved to Argentina, deciding he'd continue the sport there, away from the people he still planned on beating.
One day, Oikawa found himself at a beach in Brazil, standing face to face with Karasuno's Number 10, Hinata Shouyou.
Never did either one of them thought they'd ever run into each other, but the truth was right before their eyes. The two hit it off almost immediately, and soon they were competing against another team in beach volleyball.
It was when he first tried his hand at this version of the sport and failed at it magnificently, did he realize what made him fall in love with volleyball in the first place. Trying something once, failing at it, trying it again, failing once again, doesn't necessarily mean that one isn't getting better at it. If one doesn't give up, the thrill of succeeding is much more exhilarating than if they had gotten it right the first time around. Oikawa realized that volleyball for him did not equate to winning, but to improving himself so that once he did win, he'd know he had done the best he could. Something that Oikawa now believed in was that there were always going to be people more stronger, more talented, more faster than him, but he had to be the very best that he, himself could be. In the end, he was the only one he had to prove his worth to.
The dying flame in his soul was ignited once more, erupting into colours so bright, one would have to turn away. Oikawa Toru was back, and this time he would surely rule the court.
Finally, the day Oikawa had been waiting for arrived. He was to face off against those he had promised to quite a while ago. He stood tall and confident, with every intention to repay them for all the losses he endured and to show them his pride wasn't misplaced.
And that is exactly what he did.
>>>>>
So I decided to give this a try, and hopefully it wasn't a terrible read. And also I hope I didn't miss the deadline. Anyway, thank you so much for reading through the whole thing. It means a lot. ❤️
