I’ve been rereading @avionvadion’s SesshomaruXOC fanfic Forest Deep during my down time between classes and homework to relax and while reading chapter 36, this realization came to me.
Inuyasha may most resemble Toga, but Sesshomaru’s apparently got some traits too.

Commission done by the wonderful @yukihimea of my Kirin OC Takara and Sesshomaru!
Side note:
Takara is an OC of mine I’ve had for a long time, probably since 05. Originally she was a dragon who I made as being the daughter of Ryukotsusei and one of his many many concubines. Later I fleshed her mother out and decided I wanted her to be a Deer daiyokai. Combining the two made her a half deer/dragon which I later found out was actually a mythical creature called a Kirin. So she’s been around longer than Kirinmaru.
I based her face markings, possible hair color, and pale skin on her father and the eye color, deer horns ( made more draconic ), and demon form on her mothers.

Storyteller Chapter 2 (Updated)
Authors note: As of when I'm writing this chapter I have 2 likes, and I know that doesn’t sound like a lot, but that means so much to me. ~
"Said Rabbit to Red Fox, in a silken quiet tone,
'The field of voles has a story you will want to hear.' Red fox scoffed, and responded in gravelly tones.
'Why should I, the greatest huntsman of the valley, trouble myself with a story from the rabbits, and voles?' Rabbit shook her head and tutted.
'Your pride will end you fox. My ears hear all the whispers of the wood, and you will be huntsman no more lest you hear their words as well."
The forest was starved from the faded light of the moon, leaving Aria with only the beam of the flashlight to guide her. She could not see an arms length away on either side of her only what lie directly ahead. As she ambled through the woods, there was no denying the unsettling feeling in the pit of her stomach. Her steps were slow, silent, precise. As if she were passing a sleeping beast. Her heart stopped for a moment when she felt a breeze passed her shoulder, a hot breeze, breath.
Slowly, carefully, she turned her flashlight behind her and inch by inch revealing a large head and two round massive eyes. Eyes that peered silently down at her. Then it spoke, exposing long yellow teeth.
"Are you lost?"
Her flashlight fell from her hand. She darted through the trees, and leaped over rocks, she ran until her lungs burned. She could still hear the crunch of leaves under it's feet getting ever closer behind her. She had to think of something and quickly. She heard the rushing water ahead of her. It was her only warning of the river ahead of her the bank rose high above it. The rise of the hill concealed the body of water. Perfect.
She could hear it's deep voice calling out to her, attempting to coax her out of hiding.
"Where did you go"
The bark of the tree was rough against her hands as she pressed her back as flat as she could against the tree trunk that separated her from the monster. It wouldn't last her long, but it wouldn’t need to. She picked up a stone by her feet and threw it across the water landing in a bush on the other side.
"there you are"
As the creature ran passed the tree Aria grabbed its leg and the great beast toppled headfirst into the river. Aria didn't wait to see what had happened to him She hightailed it up stream.
She moved quickly, but did not run, half because of the noise, half because of the darkness that now choked the surroundings without a flashlight to guide her. When she could go no further she stopped to rest. She did her best to squish herself between two large mossy boulders. She'd slept in more comfortable positions, but she was too afraid to sleep in the open and too tired to build a proper shelter. Exhaustion overtook her and she fell into dreamless sleep.
The next morning she was woken up by the sound of voices. Her Curiosity demanded she get closer. She skulked over to the muddy riverbank and found the monster from last night. In full light she could see he looked like a cross between a wolf and a bear with a head much larger than both wearing green and blue armor. He was still damp from the river. Next to him was a little green toad like creature in brown robes, funny hat and was holding a staff. Listening closely she caught the end of the big bear-wolf's sentence.
"-With Inuyasha and that priestess, uh, Kagome if I remember it right." He's seen Kagome. "By the way, have you seen a human girl around here Jaken? I think she may have dropped this, this, I think it is a torch." He held out Aria's flashlight. He seemed much less threatening now, Aria thought. Aria began to slink noiselessly down the bank, and cautiously approached the pair.
"Why should I care about a lowly human?" Jaken griped.
"Firstly she almost killed me," Said the other demon, "And second most she came from the well wearing strange clothes, she might know the priestess,"
"I do know Kagome." Aria declared. Both demons jumped, but the beast with the large eyes, and easily 7 feet tall hid himself behind Jaken who himself stood three feet tall hat included.
"You are the mortal who nearly felled Royakan, I hardly believe that," Jaken said, unimpressed with the woman's disheveled appearance. Literally sleeping on a bed of stones is not good for beauty sleep.
"And you shouldn't," said Aria. "He was chasing me and didn't see the river, he fell"
"You tripped me!"
"You fell." She insisted. Aria pointed at his paw like hand still holding her flashlight. "That's mine, can I have it back please."
"Oh, of coarse. Are you a friend to Kagome?"
"Yes, are you?"
"I am," His ears perked up and his tail did a happy swish, like a very threatening, but still very endearing giant puppy. A thought seemed to occur to him. "I am Royakan, gaurdian of the forest"
"Well gee now I feel like an ass,"
"I understand humans find demons to be frightening, but not to worry I don't eat humans anymore." Aria decided it was a much better idea to stand close to Jaken "You should come with me to find lord Sesshomaru. Kagome may be danger." Aria's eyes shot wide and she began to feel the constricting pull of panic.
"What's wrong with Kagome, and who is Sesshomaru?"
"You do not know who Lord Sesshomaru is?" Jaken balled his fists and stamped his foot on the muddy bank.
"Enlighten me."
"He is the single most powerful demon in all the land, he is the half breed Inuyasha's older brother, but he hardly compares." Jaken took a moment from his ever so captivating speech to think "Even still I wouldn't mind having Inuyasha as an ally now"
"If he's so almighty, Why does he need Inuyasha?"
"He does not!" Jaken protested "He can defeat the panther demons all by himself!"
"But" Royakan interrupted "last time we lost-"
"Those cowards ran for the hills, they knew Lord Sesshomaru would deliver their deaths" Jaken turned his back to Royakan. Royakan didn't seem to notice he gazed into the distance with a mournful expression.
"Many of my friends died in that battle."
"I'm sorry for your loss," Aria said softly.
"Thank you" He seemed to relax, "Last I knew the Panther demons were after the jewel shards, Kagome carries some I think."
"Jewel shards?" she asked, and Royakan fumbled with an answer
"Um well, they are pieces of a jewel"
"Yes I got that part." Aria deadpanned. Jaken lacking the patience to listen to Royakan ramble, offered a more concise answer
"They grant incredible power to those who possess them"
"Does Lord Sesshomaru possess many shards then?"
"Fool! he great demon lord has no need for such gimmicks."
"Jaken, is this where you have been?" Aria followed the voice, Smooth and cool, to a man in elegant clothing of white and red, and pristine spiked armor. He looked like he was about Aria's age, had tattoos, or maybe paint, stripes on his cheeks, a crescent on his forehead and long white hair. When sharp gold met Aria's doe brown eyes, and the corner of her lips quirked up just a bit. He certainly was handsome, she thought.
"Please forgive me Lord Sesshomaru," said Jaken bowing with his entire body on the ground. Lord Sesshomaru said nothing as he walked passed Jaken. This irked Aria to no end, and she suddenly felt a smidge protective over this little green goblin. Royakan also bowed, before Sesshomaru as he passed, and addressed him.
"Lord Sesshomaru, I Royakan, Would be Honored to serve you once again,"
"Not necessary"
"Please I beg you to reconsider" Royakan pleaded. Jaken began to speak on Royakan's behalf in order to sway Sesshomaru.
"Royakan," Said Sesshomaru, Royakan perked up. His tail doing a little flip flop "Leave before I lop off your head" Royakan's expression dropped, "Only you shall accompany This Sesshomaru, Jaken."
Jaken's eyes began to water, and he wiped his sleeve across his face. Aria followed Sesshomaru, if he was after the panthers he would lead her to Kagome. Jaken raced after them both, and when he caught up to them scoffed at Aria.
"Lord Sesshomaru did not say you could accompany him!" He said.
"I'm not, we just happen to be walking in the same direction at the same time." She corrected.
"Just like how Royakan fell into the river"
"Exactly like that, yes"
Sesshomaru stopped walking. "Follow me and you will die" He said. Aria continued until she stood next to him.
"I'm not following you" She insisted. He focused on her in a way that made her feel jittery despite her ever present smirk. Something seemed to click behind his pools of molten amber, or at least that’s what Aria thought she saw. It was hard to tell, he was very stoic and she was a little distracted by his feathery pail eyelashed. He turned from her and continued up the riverbank.
"This one will not protect you"
"I don't need you to"

hiii i'm the anon who asked u about yashahime. why do u think yashahime is bad? i never watch it, that's why idk anything about it (but I've watched Inuyasha) ;-;
Personally I would just say to not even bother with watching or thinking about the terrible 'what if' scenario that was breathed into existence, BUT far be it from me to tell someone how to think. No matter what anyone says it's always best to do your own research and come to your own conclusions instead of blindly following what other people say. No matter how many credentials said person has. That being said I can give you my opinion.
However, I too didn't watch the show (outside of the 1st episode cause I heard it was OG cast). For me, personally, the moment I heard Sesshomaru had kids I had a bad feeling in my gut. I grew up on fanfictions, and I always loved reading SesshomaruxOC(ME!!!!) on fanfic.net. I lived for that shit so if there was an anime that had Sesshomaru with kids that wasn't what I really cared about. What bothered me was "who was the mother" because I had a sinking suspicion that unfortunately turned out to be true. Once it came out that Rin was the sure mother of his kids the blatant pedo/grooming(since they are trying to imply that the Inuyasha series was the basis of Sesshomaru and Rin's "romantic" past where she's a damn child. And she still is in Yashahime), that was MORE than enough reason for me to not give this show any chance.
While I have come to peace and am able to separate OG!Sesshomaru from Pedomaru it hurts that this stain can't be erased from his character. It's always going to be there. Call me basic but he was my favorite character. And I always knew there was a fanbase for SessxAdult Rin cause I've seen it on Fanfic but I was able to filter/ignore and go on with my life. But there isn't any "adult" Rin in the show. And what made me hate it more was how people still trying to justify and jump through hoops to make this pairing with a child ok. Really they just sound like dumbasses.
Outside of that reason (but what other reason do you need?) from my own research, reading articles, post on here and other websites, and hearing what the show is about the pacing just sounds awful. The characters are inconsistent, they seem to trip over their own feet to make some stupid shit they did make sense, or retcon things in their own first season. None of the OG characters are done justice (save for a few occasional polished turds in the sea of shit that is the show ie: Inuyasha protecting his girls, and some others but again I don't watch the show I've only seen clips). They erased Kagura's influence on everything (unless you count the twins powers/imagery??). Not to mention the twins don't even feel like Rin's children outside of the show telling us. No matter how many times you try to tell me the duck is a dog, doesn't change it's still a damn duck. And those kids do not seem like Rin's children at all. They have nothing similar to her at all.
Honestly if you want better information on why this show is terrible just look into the anti sessr*n tag and you're bound to find those brave souls that have actually watched the show, analyzed it and have come up with reasons backed by evidence.
Before this whole thing came out I wasn't even a SessxKagura shipper. Like I said I was always SessxOC. I remember as a child I was even jealous of Kagura because there was something romantic or at least the beginnings/potential of something between them. Never felt that way about Rin. As a child I always equated them to big brother/father, with the 'father' dynamic being my favorite with him, Kohaku and Rin.
I still prefer SessxOC because I can picture myself in the OC's place, but after the show came out I've come to embrace SessxADULT WOMAN mainly Kagura because she fits best lol.
Sorry for the word vomit. Like I said there are better posts and blogs to follow/read if you want more concise and coherent information. But if you don't want your memories of the original Inuyasha to be tainted don't even bother.

I really want to rb some of the hogoshamaru week artworks but I dont ship sesskagu.. i am sorry 😅 i hope that works could maybe be a little more neutral in the future to show hogoshamaru and rin/kohaku relationship. 🙏🏼
I understand, but please remember that this week accepts a lot of Sesshomaru ships (except obviously ses **rin): Sesskagu, SessKik, SessSan, SessKag, LGBT+ Sesshomaru, single dad Sesshomaru and SesshomaruxOC, as long as the content is related to Sesshomaru and Rin as father and daughter. Also, there are many amazing works that only represent Hogoshamaru and Rin and Kohaku. Please, search in this blog and you will find them.🤗✨

Storyteller (Updated)
Hello lovely readers welcome to the Sesshomaru x oc story I’ve been talking about.
Chapter 1
"Once upon a time there was a rabbit. To her the world was full of frightful and dangerous creatures. One misstep would be her end, but she was fast, she was quiet, and she was clever. She defied the world determined to swallow her whole, and she defied the fox"
Aria closed the notebook as the taxi came to a halt, in front of the Higurashi household. The surrounding woodland was mysterious and foreboding, the kind of setting that drew the young woman in with promise of adventure. She gathered her belongings from the taxi and thanked the driver and bid him farewell. It had been a good 6 years sense she had been back, news of Kagome's poor health reached Aria all the way in America. She came as quickly as she could.
The knock on the door was answered by Kagome's mother a kind welcoming figure. She wore a cooking apron and tied her messy hair into a bun.
"Aria? Is that really you? It's been too long Come in. Come in." Aria was ushered inside by Kagome's mother "You must be tired, and hungry. I'm making stir fry I'm sure there will be plenty."
"That's alright ma'am, I really just want to see Kagome right now. How is she?"
"She's at school for now. She will be home soon, and don't you worry she has been well" Mrs. Higurashi returned to her cooking and began to hum. Aria nervously sat at the kotatsu table. The warmth of the burner gave her some relief from the cold room. Aria noted that her sick friend might fair better if the house were warmer. Mrs. Higurashi stopped humming.
"How is your father doing? I've been meaning to ask him, when will his most recent book will be translated?" Aria took a moment to ponder the question.
"He… Hasn't spoken to his editor recently. I've been trying to get Marcus to take over the project, but he's not one for extra work."
"And your books?" She asked. "You know Kagome had translated one recently for her English class, She got a decent grade so I assume it was well done on her part."
"Yeah, I can't imagine Kagome doing poorly, kids a genius" as if summoned by the conversation the door opens to reveal a disheveled teenage girl.
"Mom, I'm home." She said.
"How were your classes sweety" Mrs. Higurashi asked not looking away from her task.
"Good, well kinda good, okay not good. I got a 76 on my math test,"
"I'm sorry Kagome. Aria's here to see you. Maybe that will cheer you up" Kagome rounded the corner and sure enough there she sat.
"Hey." Aria patted the seat next to her, and Kagome happily plopped down. Her bright eyes and face pink and clear didn't go unnoticed by Aria.
"You look like you've been doing better," Kagome turned her head sharply.
"Where did that come from?"
"You've been sick," was Aria's deadpan answer.
"Oh right! That, yeah I've been doing good." She said cheerfully. Aria crossed her arms a flicker of a grin passed her lips.
"I can tell," she said, her tone and expression made Kagome shift a little. "It's almost as if you were never sick at all," Kagome puffed out her cheeks.
"Just what are you trying to say?" Aria put her hands up.
"Not that you're playing hooky. No, you would never." Kagome met Aria's expression with a grin of her own.
"You're right there. I've been staying out of trouble without your bad influence."
"Such a shame," said Aria. "Trouble is half the fun of friendship." Kagome struggled to keep a straight face.
"I never said we were friends."
"You wound me."
They were joined that dinner by Kagome's younger brother Souta who didn't remember Aria, but was thrilled to have a guest who was so talented at spinning stories, and kagome's grandfather, who did remember Aria, too well in fact. Aria danced around the topic of Kagome's absence from school. Kagome's answers giving away just enough to tip off that something was amiss. The flash of intrigue in Aria's eyes did not go unnoticed by Granpa Higurashi.
The next morning Kagome was gone, to the hospital her mother had said. Aria pressed to find out which hospital. Mrs. Higurashi gave a Japanese sounding fake hospital name, forgetting that despite it being her second language Aria was fluent in Japanese.
Something had always been up with this old shrine. Aria remembered it clearly. Grandpa Higurashi always warned Kagome and aria to stay away from this or that. He had the answers, and Aria was finally going to draw them out.
She found him in the shed stacking gardening equipment.
"Let me help you" she said.
"Thank you very much, but I can do this myself." He protested, but still handed her the tools to stack on a higher shelf.
"I have no doubt, but if you don't have to do something alone why would you?" Aria set about preparing her next comment carefully "Remember how you used to tell me and Kagome not to run around in the forest out here. We still did, but we were much more careful thanks to your guidance,"
"I know what you're up to, and it wont work." said the ever insightful old man. Aria quirked an eyebrow, attempting an innocent face.
"What do you mean?" Aria dared him to spell it out, but their wits were matched, it would be a matter of patience, a skill Aria had carefully cultivated. The old man huffed rather than dignify her with an answer he moved on to the next chore, and she followed him.
"When will she be back?" Aria asked. Grandpa Higurashi sighed and looked into the distance. Aria followed his gaze to the bone eaters well. The two had been caught close to the well once. She had never been in so much trouble.
"I don't know, she never tells us,"
"Well of coarse she can't tell you when she'll be discharged from the hospital," Aria carefully gauged Grandpa Higurash's reactions, and it played well into her favor to see him turn away from the well, and nervously glance back again.
"So," she continued "Where is Kagome really"
"What? At the hospital where else?"
"Not at the well then?" Aria knew she could be wrong, but as they say confidence is key. The old man's face that was once twisted with irritation dropped.
"Stay away from the well." came his dire warning.
"Why?" Aria pressed.
"You don't want to know what is at the bottom," He turned and walked away from her, and she stepped in front of him.
"Here's the thing though, I really do." The well had always called to her. It was dangerous mysterious and most of all tempting.
"It is not for you to know,"
"it is for Kagome to know," Aria stated. The air was thick between them as silence brewed. Aria waited for his response but it never came. She already knew where to find Kagome, she didn't need him to confirm it.
That night Aria borrowed some emergency supplies from Mrs. Higurashi. She expected to find a path near the well that would lead her to Kagome. Grandpa higurashi's words echoed in her head. She decided to check the bottom of the well first. She opened the door of the shack surrounding the well. It was near pitch black inside, she waited and listened, when she was sure she could continue passed the threshold she turned on her flashlight and shut the door behind her. There was nothing spectacular about the old building. In fact if it were not for the constant warnings and threatening ambiance, Aria could see herself camping out in there.
As she approached the well her usually whispered footsteps met the groan of a loose board, telling all of the empty building that there was an unwelcome guest. The room was empty. Aria knew that. She knew it. She did. The wood of the well was splintered and rotten, but sinking into the pit was a white nylon rope tied to a nearby beam. Not something you'd expect in an undisturbed centuries old building.
Aria shone her flashlight into the well, she couldn't make out the bottom, but assumed the rope would reach. Aria considered her options, she was no longer sure if she truly wanted to know what was at the bottom.
'Kagome' She thought 'she's at the bottom, or at least a way to find her is.' she took the rope and began to climb down. The well seemed to breath around her. She thought she must have left the door open. When she reached the bottom she set about looking for a hatch, or a door of some kind. When that failed she searched for even some sign left by Kagome, but there was nothing. No signs no door no danger, just old wood and dry dirt.
"I guess sometimes a well is just a well," She said softly. She was more excited than she realized, at the prospect of a conspiracy style adventure. She began to look for the rope, but found creeping vines in it's place. Her gaze followed them up to find a sky full of stars rather than the roof of the well house. Aria froze. Confusion, uncertainty, fear, and thrill jumbled together and overwhelmed her. Her breath sped out of her control and she had to brace herself on the wall in an effort to ground herself in reality. She needed out. With adrenaline coursing through her veins it took little effort to pull herself out of the well, but when her boots hit the grass of the hill she felt weak and worst of all helpless. The Higurashi house was nowhere in sight. The crushing reality of being alone and lost hit her like a truck.
She fought to steady her heartbeat. 'it's not that bad. It's bad, but I can work with this. Kagome is here somewhere and I'll her,' Aria took a deep even breath and set off into the nearby woods, unaware of the eyes that follow her.
