Where do you see Stray's character arc going in the future for Noragami? I really want her to be redeemed since she's interested in Yuki currently, but who knows.
You have no idea how invested I am in Nora’s arc!! I love her so much oh my god. You know, I actually don’t think she’s romantically interested in Yukine at all. Even if she it, it might just be a little bit and I doubt the romance is what’s going to drive her character and relationship with him. I do think their arcs are very intertwined and it will be Yukine who’ll eventually help her move on from her issues. I feel really bad for Nora since she’s a manipulated kid who never got the chance Yato did to learn about love and goodness. Her ‘father’ is the only person she knows in the world aside from Yato so she clings onto the two of them, until Yato abandons her completely for Yukine and Hiyori.
It’s hard to tell what is going on in Nora’s mind right now since we stopped at such an sudden moment. I imagine the next chapter would give some insight into why she kissed him. But for now, I get the impression that she’s still trying to mess with him. I think she wants to break Yukine? The jealousy is still deeply rooted in her. If she can’t beat him physically since he’s already proven he’s so much stronger, she’s probably going along the emotional route. I’m sure she knows that he’s struggling with his surfacing memories. I don’t really think Nora has anything much to do aside from stalking Yato and the rest and observing them (she was there before his birthday party as well). She knows exactly what is going on and she’s trying to use it to her benefit.
Eventually Yukine is going to get his memories back, but I think it’s safe to say he won’t become an ayakashi. He might be on the verge of turning into one, but he’ll pull through it probably because Hiyori and Yato will be calling out to him, just like during his ablution. I think after that, he and Nora might be able to understand each other better since it’s clear Yukine himself came from an abused home. When that happens, she’ll get her development and she’ll break away from her father. I don’t think there’ll be romance between them. I kinda don’t want there to be, since they’re simply kids and Noragami has their whole collection of romantic couples already (I just know we’re going to get some Yatori drama after Yukine’s arc because of the red string incident where Kofuku tied them together). Yukine’s and Nora’s arcs revolve around the theme of family so I expect it to continue this route. Just like how Yukine found family in Yato and Hiyori, he’ll probably help Nora to discover the same thing in them as well. Noragami has strong themes about familial love after all (Yato/Hiyori/Yukine, Bishamon and her shinkis, Kofuku/Daikoku and their son, even Mayu and her daughter) so really think Nora’s arc will go down this path as well.
Oh damn I just rambled didn’t I?
#i love nora/yukine dynamics so much omg#it's so interesting#ahhh#i love everyone in noragami#noragami#answers#sesshomarusenpai

So I just finished binge watching Death Note and I have to say, it was a wild ride. I think what gets me most about the ending is Misa's supposed suicide, she didn't deserve an ending that bad. Symbolically, in a world without Light she was left in the dark. It highkey makes me mad that she never gave herself enough agency to leave his side and remained a tool, but eh.
Misa’s story in the second arc of Death Note is sure not satisfactory. Though I am not pleased with her suicide happening the way it did, it actually still was a more conclusive character arc than in the manga where she just gets brought to a hotel pre-warehouse and is then never seen again. Zero resolution. In that version, her suicide only got confirmed in bonus material.
That said, I’m personally pretty :/ about Misa and agency as a topic, because I can’t really look past how much she forced her way into this situation out of her own free will. As badly handled as Misa’s story is in many aspects, I don’t think she is ever written as someone who’s really The Victim. “Lie to me. Pretend to be my boyfriend. Let me live in that dream castle I decided I want to live on” was the wish she forced upon Light from their first meeting on, so in the end Misa just kind of got exactly what she wanted.
Light is a tool to Misa, too. It’s not as clear-cut since Misa’s goal in the end is ‘to live happily by someone’s side’ but she actively pressures him into the role and isn’t really interested in any alternative models.
So I think, in a lot of ways what Misa is reduced to after the timeskip is partially self-destruction. She threw herself into dependency with open arms, because that was the one way she envisioned her happiness would be. Trying to live this dream out with someone who is only faking it (as she knew) bites her in the butt, because as it turns out illusions aren’t very stable and by the time Misa finds that out, she’s dived in way too deep to get out easily / at all, in the end.

It'd be cool if you made your own YouTube channel to discuss TG and maybe do let's plays on some indie games and etc. It's kind of hard to gain popularity these days though, there's so many channels out there trying to get paid and partnered and etc. Good luck if you do though!
Oh I never tackle things with the intent to make money from it! If I can one day release a book or draw art for money that’d be awesome, but that’s not the reason why I write or draw.
YouTube would be the same thing - I’d be happy to make content that I have fun creating, if people enjoy it then even better! So I’d love to make drawing videos, play indie games, dabble in RPG Maker, create metas and sculpt!
I don’t intend to study art despite loving every aspect of it for example. These things make me happy as a hobby and should remain my happy place, not a stressful job that I have to rely on. Any money that I might one day make through my skills would be a bonus, really.
I think what I’d do first is release a meta with a voice clip here on tumblr, though, to see if people can actually stand listening to my high pitched voice with a german accent. =)

It's kind of sad that the community doesn't have a proper TG youtuber to go to for analysis videos on the series like other manga and anime do. Chibi is sadly far too immature and his fanbase is just.. honestly full of underage fans who easily incite drama. Browsing through his twitter and YouTube comments today, I saw people using more stolen artwork as their profile pictures, wallpapers and etc. This entire situation blew so far out hand simply because he wanted to play the victim, sigh.
It is... anyone want to volunteer? Hahaha. I would love to have a YouTube channel to watch. Or a podcast. Like honestly I’m happy for YouTubers to make money off their videos, etc.--they deserve it when it’s their content! And I’d happily support someone creating their own content or discussing metas with permission.
And yeah, that was the depressing part. It’s ironic that his accusations of a horde of fans going after him is actually inciting the opposite: hordes of his fans going after fanartists and deliberately antagonizing them. Fortunately, y’all, twitter has a very handy way of reporting copyright violations. ;)

Couper means cut and that line is going through Shuu's hand in the latest illustration. Last time Kanae was alive she cut off Kaneki's hand for Shuu, maybe it'll be Shuu's hand getting cut this time for not remembering her? Hmm.. the chances of that Dragon being Kanae have just increased.
I don’t know, but that’s true, she did! I really am leaning towards Karren as well. It’d be about time for Shuu to get some of that sweet sweet development. And if it is her, I expect to see Hairu in this volume too considering Ui’s paralleling of Shuu.

I was wondering if the mini Dragon in the spoilers could be Hairu since it looks somewhat "Owlish" and there is the calendar art of her with a wing by her side. Not only that but it'd be perfect since Ui, Hirako, and the CCG agents are there. Kind of worried about Kaneki and co. going underground though, last time it took Ayato a whole arc to get home..
OH FUCK
Yeah, I think the “she” makes it either Eto, Karren, or Hairu. Rize seems like a final boss so I doubt they’d use her as a “distraction,” but the Clowns would absolutely love to fuck with people just like Uta did with the Shinohara and Kaneki masks during the Clown Raids. Since Eto isn’t well known to those fighting, it’s most likely either Karren or Hairu.
I love hate everything.
@lilacflamesss pointed out that there’s an old theory with weight to it that the Garden might be underground, and the fact that we’re going back there--well.

What are your thoughts on the new :re opening Asphyxia? The full version is out now on the subreddit and honestly, I might like it more than Unravel lol.
I think it’s excellent and really fits TG:re!! Honestly the music and soundtrack is a major point of excitement for me with the new season of the anime.

I was looking at the :re Volume 9 bonus illustration of Kaneki in a waiter outfit again, and I was thinking "is this perhaps Kaneki after the story?", since he has the long hair, his neck veins are healed, and his human eye is black and red which reminds me a lot of Uta's situation since one of his eyes kakugan is seemingly always activated 👀. Then I started thinking, what if every time Kaneki absorbs oviduct poison with his Kagune, he heals rapidly like last time?
... I like the idea of Kaneki working at a coffee shop in the end and now I must find this illustration.
Ahem. But that’s a really cool idea! We shall see.

I was looking around at some lore again in regards the underground and found some interesting stuff. For starters, Patala is often translated as underworld, and compromises of "seven" regions, the lowest region also being called Patala or Naga-loka, the region of the Nagas. Vasuki is assigned to the lowest realm, and also happens to be the origin of the organization V's name. It's likely that the Sunlit Garden truly will await Kaneki at the very depths. 1/3.
Hide also ties into this ordeal as the word "Naga" in his name stands for eternity, the sanskrit term for the word being "Ananta" which also means eternal or limitless. In the story of Mahabharata that Vasuki comes from, Ananta is the eldest brother of Vasuki which may be alluding to his possible ties with V and the underground again. It also correlates to his role as the Magician, since the card has the eternity symbol above his head, and at his waist is a snake biting it's tail. 2/3
And lastly is the mention of there being "8 Dragon Kings" in the Hindu lore of the Nagaraja, which is ironic since after Kaneki's oviduct presumably dissolved, there's currently 8 more oviducts left forming around the city. Hide may have a role in taking them down since he was foreshadowed at controlling them as the Magician and he did stay behind to deal with things above. Thoughts, anything to add lol? 3/3
Friend, this is really cool meta! Everyone please read this!
I so hope you are right about the Sunlit Garden XD

Is there any reason why all the zombies are Ukaku/Owl related? There were 2 other :re tanks besides Amon's, and with this recent Owl resembling his own, Hairu is more than likely the one we're seeing, and Arima may as well be the other one since we often see them together when mentioned in regards to revival. Not only that but this recent illustration had the quinque positioned in a way that it looks like Arima has the Owl wings. Then we have Shirazu, and more than likely both Eto, and Yoshimura
Not only that but Kanae has Eto's kagune inside her body as well. I wonder if it correlates back to the fact that Kaneki's Full Kakuja is speculated to be a Phoenix, also known as king of the birds.
That is really interesting. I noticed that the quinques were indeed positioned to make Arima look like he had Owl wings. Kanae probably has an ukaku + her rinkaku and Shirazu also has an ukaku. I wonder if genetically they are easier to revive? But we don’t know. It’s quite probable they used Yoshimura’s kakuhou to implant into Hairu--her Owl form (assuming this is her, which at this point seems by far the most likely) resembles Yoshimura’s quite a bit.
Like at first all our half-ghouls (Kaneki, Kurona, Nashiro) were rinkakus aka serpents/dragons. And then with Yoshimura’s kakuhou being grafted into Amon & Takizawa it’s been ukakus, and Kaneki’s developed an ukaku as well. Phoenixes are also symbols of, guess what, rebirth and resurrection which just so happens to correlate with the themes of the Sun and Judgment tarots. A phoenix burns out and then revives from the ashes. Therefore symbolically it makes sense that they dead may rise with wings.

It's been bugging me for a lil bit but, I wonder when we'll learn who sent Mutsuki the present after the Clown arc? Since the Clowns are back in the story I have a nagging feeling it'll be addressed since I figure Uta may have sent it, iirc he has the Chateau address alongside the fact that he found interest in Mutsuki especially. Why do you think he wanted to flip his switch in specific though? I doubt it was to help him face his feelings for Haise correctly but eh.
Yeah, I dont think Uta was so benevolent, but you’re right--that could be relevant around now. I think Uta took special interest in Mutsuki because he was the Q most obviously like Kaneki. I mean they all are Kaneki but Mutsuki has the visible similarity (eyepatch, meek demeanor) that Uta probably picked up on and decided to have fun with... since Kaneki was so fun to mess with, after all. Sigh. Yomo come pick up your boyfriend he’s acting out again.

So I guess this further enforces the theory that RC cells are parasitic? Dragon exploded and essentially spread itself in the air like pollen to ghoulify people, no clue how that works but man it's impressive. Now I'm wondering why the CCG agents haven't been ghoulified yet.. Hmm..
It looks like Saiko might be... I’m curious.
WHAT IF UI TURNS INTO A GHOUL I would love that.

🤔 Huh, I just realized most of the Clowns have names relating to Italian origin. Itori is another name for Italy, Donato is a popular Italian name derived from Donatello who was a popular sculptor in the Renaissance, Roma = Rome, and Nico is a typical Italian nickname. I wonder what Ishida meant by this?
Oooh, that’s super interesting! My Italian ancestors are yelling at me from heaven for not realizing this. I was just talking about the clowns earlier today with @midnight-in-town! I’m not sure what this would mean, but it’s a really cool observation... hm. I know choruses (which is basically what the clowns are) are part of ancient Greco-Roman theatre (but only for tragedies in Roman specific theatre, not comedies!)... hm.

It just occurred to me, but if they do find the Sunlit Garden underground this time around, maybe we'll get that foreshadowed Zombie Arima fight since there is that illustration of him wearing some knightly Arata Armor? Ironically Ayato was also present during the Arima fight in the Cochlea as well when Yomo was having an inner monologue about Arata and the past. It'd be fitting to see his father as an armor before hopefully confronting the real Arata stored away in the Garden somewhere if so.
.........
I would love this? See, I expect whatever happens underground to be traumatic for Ayato and Kaneki and cause some maaaaajor development. But death flags in TG are almost always harm flags. Not actual death.

I'm highkey worried about the Mutsurie fandom, or Mutsuki in general with the anime coming up. All you'll see are questions like "what gender is Mutsuki" and then cue the endless debates and arguments that lead to anger. Anywho, how's India friend?
Let me make you ever more terrified friend. The Kanae/Karren discourse will also be in high gear. Hold my hand please and cry with me.
But yeah. Sigh. Mutsuki is so much more than a gender. He is a fantastic character whom I love dearly, who is complex and who undergoes great development.
India is fantastic! Aside from a brief stint of illness yesterday. I’m flying out tomorrow back to Chennai and flying out back to the US on Tuesday morning at an ungodly hour that’s really not Tues morning but is instead Monday night :P Saaaaaad.

I'm starting college in the Fall and I have no idea what to major in, I'm kind of scared to be honest. Any advice senpai :3?
Hey friend! Firstly, congratulations on starting college! It’s totally normal to be scared, too, so don’t feel like you’re weird or anything.
My advice would be to major in something you love and care about. College is hard (junior year was like a horrible time for me). But if you are studying something you love, that will make a huge difference. People told me English Lit & Creative Writing would mean I couldn’t get a high paying job. They’re right. And I knew it and did it anyways because I loved it, and I have a decent job that covers my needs and gives me time to do what I love, which is write.
It’s okay not to declare a major right away–a lot of people don’t, and honestly like half the people I knew switched majors at some point in their college career. So you can try something and then be like meh I want something else. But the uni I work at now legit won’t let students choose majors until they’re sophomores. I’d say to explore lots of options your first year–take requirements and explore really, try some classes in fields you might be interested in and see how it works out.
If you choose a major and your senior year realize it’s not what you want to do, there’s grad school. Honestly what you majored in doesn’t really matter when it comes to getting into grad school; it just matters you have a degree.
Basically I know it seems daunting but trust yourself and take your time. You can always make new choices.
if i may, more advice: never pull an all nighter. Never. :P
