    𝓳𝓾𝓰𝓱𝓮���𝓭  𝓶𝓪𝓭𝓮  𝓱𝓮𝓻  𝓯𝓮𝓮𝓵  𝓵𝓲𝓴𝓮  𝓼𝓱𝓮  𝓬𝓸𝓾𝓵𝓭  𝓭𝓸  𝓪𝓷𝔂𝓽𝓱𝓲𝓷𝓰,   he  had  opened  her  eyes  to  so  much  and  showed  her  different  sides  of  the  world  that  she  never  would've  seen  if  she  had  stayed  sat  in  her  perfect  pink  room  of  her  boring  northsider  life.   she  could've  just  stayed  in  the  lane  that  everyone  had  expected  her  to  stay  in,  to  do    𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓻𝔂𝓽𝓱𝓲𝓷𝓰   that  everyone  had  expected  of  her.   but  she  knew  she  was  capable  of  so  much  more.   he  made  her  see  that  and  she  was   𝓲𝓷  𝓵𝓸𝓿𝓮   with  that  feeling,  she  was  so  in  love  with  him  that  she  knew  she  would  do  anything  she  had  to  to  keep  him  safe.   even  if  he  didn't  need  her  help,  she  knew  what  she  was  getting  involved  with  when  her  and  jughead  started  seeing  one  another.   but  betty  knew  she  couldn't  just  sit  around  anymore.   she  couldn't  just  stay  sitting  and  waiting  for  him  to  come  back,  to  just  be  there  to  patch  him  up  and  kiss  him  better.   not  anymore.   she  wasn't  just  betty  cooper  from  the  northside  of  riverdale,  she  was  girlfriend  of  the  serpent  king  and  she  refused  to  just  sit  around  anymore.

    𝓼𝓱𝓮  𝓱𝓾𝓶𝓼  𝓼𝓸𝓯𝓽𝓵𝔂  𝓪𝓽  𝓽𝓱𝓮  𝓴𝓲𝓼𝓼,   a  little  taken  back  and  allows  him  to  pull  her  in,  arms  wrapping  around  his  waist  as  she  leans  into  him.   she  really  hoped  this  wasn't  him  attempting  to  change  the  subject,  kisses  to  distract  her  from  what  could  possibly  be  a  vulnerable  moment.   she  never  asked  him  for  anything.   she  never  asked  for  more  emotional  vulernability  from  him,  she  never  asked  him  to  be  out  of  his  own  comfort  zone,  she  took  the  small  moments  because  she  knew  it  was    𝓷𝓸𝓽  𝓮𝓪𝓼𝔂   for  him.   but  that  didn't  mean  she  needed  to  be  constantly  distracted  by  endless  kisses  and  touches  that  made  her  skin  feel  like  it  was  on  fire.

    𝓫𝓾𝓽  𝓽𝓱𝓮𝓷  𝓱𝓮  𝓼𝓽𝓪𝓻𝓽𝓼  𝓽𝓪𝓵𝓴𝓲𝓷𝓰  𝓪𝓷𝓭  𝓼𝓱𝓮'𝓼  𝓳𝓾𝓼𝓽  𝓬𝓪𝓾𝓰𝓱𝓽  𝓾𝓹  𝓲𝓷  𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓻𝔂  𝔀𝓸𝓻𝓭,   at  first  she  thought  he  was  just  being  cocky,  despite  his  claims  of  not  being  so,  and  she  almost  wanted  to  pull  away.   he  called  himself  the    𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓹𝓮𝓻  𝓸𝓯  𝓻𝓲𝓿𝓮𝓻𝓭𝓪𝓵𝓮   and  yet  she  didn't  see  that.   oh,  she  was  aware  of  how  dangerous  he  was,  she  knew  what  he  was  capable  of  and  yet  she  saw  sides  of  him  that  she  doubted  he  had  ever  let    𝓪𝓷𝔂𝓸𝓷𝓮   see  before.   yet  when  he  said  that  he  was  living  for  her,  she  couldn't  help  but  look  up  at  him  with  shining  green  eyes,  flicking  over  his  face  as  she  tries  to  make  sense  of  it.   this  was  him  being    𝓿𝓾𝓵𝓮𝓻𝓷𝓪𝓫𝓵𝓮   ,  opening  up  in  a  way  that  he  never  had  before  and  it  made  her  heart  race  a  little.   teeth  pull  at  her  bottom  lip  as  she  listens  and  she  can't  help  but  smile  softly  because  whilst  she  heard  everything,  she  couldn't  help  but  focus  on  three  words,   "   hang  on,  did  you  just  say  that  you  love  me?    "

    𝓼𝓱𝓮  𝓬𝓸𝓾𝓵𝓭𝓷'𝓽  𝓭𝓮𝓷𝔂  𝓽𝓱𝓪𝓽  𝓼𝓱𝓮  𝓶𝓪𝔂  𝓫𝓮  𝓯𝓸𝓬𝓾𝓼𝓲𝓷𝓰  𝓸𝓷  𝓽𝓱𝓮  𝔀𝓻𝓸𝓷𝓰  𝓽𝓱𝓲𝓷𝓰,   that  his  words  made  her  heart  race  and  she  wanted  nothing  more  than  to  just  lean  into  him,  to  tell  him  that  she  loves  him  too,  to  really  show  him  that  she  loves  him  and  help  him  forget  all  about  what  was  going  on  outside  of  her  bedroom.   betty  smiles,  leaning  up  on  her  toes  to  press  a  kiss  to  his  lips,  leaning  her  forehead  against  his,   "   i  love  you   .   .   .   so  much,  jughead.   you  have  no  idea,    "   she  admits,  nose  brushing  against  his  before  sighing  softly  at  the  sound  of  his  phone  ringing  again.   for  a  brief  moment  she  contemplated  grabbing  it  and  throwing  it  out  the  window.   she  wanted  him  to  herself,  was  that  too  much  to  ask?   the  serpents  got  him  most  of  the  time,  she  just  wanted  him  for  tonight.   except  the  moment  she  saw  sweet  pea's  name  on  his  phone,  she  knew  that  he  was  going  to  have  to  leave.

    𝓫𝓮𝓽𝓽𝔂  𝓼𝓲𝓰𝓱𝓮𝓭  𝓼𝓸𝓯𝓽𝓵𝔂,   she  knew  that  even  if  he  wanted  to  stay,  he  was  going  to  leave.   there  was  a  war  going  on,  the  serpents  and  the  ghoulies  just  couldn't  stop,  despite  how  hard  jughead  fought  to  make  it  happen.   however,  she  wasn't  about  to  just  accept  this  and  stay  here  to  wait  anymore.   pulling  away  from  him,  she  moved  to  grab  a  hairtie,  pulling  her  hair  back  into  a  ponytail,   "   you've  gotta  go,  i  get  it,    "   she  says  softly,  making  sure  her  hair  is  up  before  looking  at  him.   she  knew  he  was  going  to  fight  her  on  this,  but  she  wasn't  backing  down  and  she  wasn't  going  to  just  stay  here,   "   give  me  a  moment  to  get  changed  and  i'm  coming  with  you,    "   oh  he  wasn't  going  to  like  this,  but  she w as  going  wherever  he  was  going.   she  wanted  to  be  with  him,  she  had  to  be  with  all  of  them,  the  sweet  boy  she  got  to  see  and  the  serpent  king.   moving  to  change  quickly,  not  caring  that  he  was  in  the  room  as  she  pulled  on  a  sweartshirt  and  jeans,  slipping  her  feet  into  some  trainers,  she  looked  back  at  him,   "   and  don't  argue  with  me.   if  you  leave  me  here,  i'll  just  follow  you  anyway,    "

    𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐢  𝐰𝐚𝐬  𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲  𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞  𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭  𝐬𝐡𝐞  𝐰𝐚𝐬  𝐢𝐧  𝐚  𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞  𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.   to  be  one  of  the  few  people  that  jughead  jones,  their  mighty  and  dangerous  serpent  prince,  trusted  and  could  actually  speak  freely  to  him.   she  didn't  take  that  trust  for  granted  and  never  used  anything  to  her  advantage  because  she  always  wanted  to    𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧   someone  that  jughead  could  turn  to,  no  matter  what  happened.   majority  of  the  time  when  she  spoke  up  about  something  that  was  bothering  her,  it  was  mainly  out  of    𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐧   for  her  friend.   but  even  she  knew  that  this  concern  was  likely  to  cause  a  fight  because  who  was  she  to  speak  up  about  someone  that  he  was  interested  in?   except  it  wasn't  like  it  was  some  girl  from  the  southside  that  had  caught  his  attention.   fuck  no.   jughead  jones,  future  serpent  king,  had  to  go  and  fall    𝐢𝐧  𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞   with  a  northsider.   not  just  any  northsider  either,  he  was  falling  for  betty  cooper.

    𝐡𝐞  𝐡𝐚𝐝  𝐭𝐨  𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰  𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭  𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬  𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝  𝐞𝐧𝐝  𝐛𝐚𝐝𝐥𝐲.   there  was  no  way  that  the  two  of  them  could  last  long  term,  once  her  parents  found  out  about  who  she  was  spending  her  time  with,  they  would  put  a  stop  to  it  and  he  would  go  back  to  doing  whatever  it  was  he  did  before  whilst  she  would  date  someone  her  parents  deemed  appropriate.   toni  wasn't  about  to  burst  his  bubble,  it  was  clear  to  her  that  her    𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭  𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝   was  happy  for  once  and  her  pointing  this  out  only  came  out  of  concern.   she  would  do  anything  not  to  see  him  hurt,  both  physically  and  emotionally.   there  was  only  likely  to  be    𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐧   at  the  end  of  this  relationship,  even  if  he  didn't  want  to  admit  it.   betty  cooper  would  never  fit  in  with  his  world,  just  like  he  would  never  fit  in  with  hers.

    𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞  𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐞  𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫  𝐭𝐨  𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐬  𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬  𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧  𝐢𝐧  𝐚  𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐡  𝐚𝐭   𝐩𝐨𝐩𝐬,   knowing  the  public  setting  wouldn't  allow  him  to  make  a  scene  if  he  got  too  upset  with  her,  especially  since  he  could  not  risk  some  northsider  finding  out  about  the  two  of  them.   not  that  the  pair  were  overly  subtle,  how  her  parents  didn't  already  know  was  beyond  toni.   but  she  needed  him  to  know  that  she  was  aware  of  what  was  going  on  and  she  was  concerned  for  him  because  she  did  not  see  this  going  well,  no  matter  how  much  she  wished  it  would.   circling  her  straw  in  her  half  drunk  milkshake,  she  was  absolutely  avoiding  this  conversation  but  knew  there  was  no  other  time  than  the  present,   "   i  know  about  you  and  the  cooper  girl,    "   toni  said  softly,  glancing  around  for  a  brief  moment  before  leaning  forward  on  the  table, elbows  leaning  against  it,   "   what  the  fuck  were  you  thinking?   i  say  this  as  your  friend  who  cares  about  you,  but  you  gotta  know  this  is  going  to  end  badly,    "   subtly  clearly  wasn't  her  strong  suit  either,  she  just  hoped  he  wouldn't  immediately  get  defensive  and  actually  talk  her  through  what  he  was  thinking.   there  was  no  way  betty  was  like  any  of  the  other  girls,  mainly  because  she  kept  coming  back  and  toni  had  seen  enough  to  know  that  jughead  was  in  deep,  whether  he  wanted  to  admit  it  or  not.   toni  shook  her  head  for  a  moment,  glacning  around  them  for  a  moment  before  looking  back  at  him,   "   i  know  you're  happy  right  now  and  it  pains  me  to  say  this,  'cause  i  want  you  to  be  happy.   but  i  can't  help  to  think  that  if  you  two  continue,  it  will  just  end  badly,    "   regardless  of  what  she's  saying,  she  will  do  anything  to  help  him  and  if  this  is  really  what  he  wants,  toni  will  absolutely  help  the  two  of  them  get  to  be  together  however  she  can.

    𝘀𝗵𝗲  𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱𝗻'𝘁  𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽  𝗯𝘂𝘁  𝘀𝗺𝗶𝗿𝗸  𝗮𝘀  𝗵𝗲  𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗱  𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵  𝗵𝗲𝗿,   teeth  pulling  at  her  bottom  lip  as  she  looked  at  him  over  her  shoulder,  blonde  curls  falling  down  her  back.   was  she  teasing  him?   absolutely.   it  was  her    𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲   thing  to  do  because  he  made  her  really  work  for  it,  but  it  also  made  everything  so  much  more    𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲   when  she  was  able  to  drive  him  absolutely  crazy  with  desire.   betty  knew  there  was  no  one�� who  had  this  effect  on  her  like  jughead  did,  she  could  flirt  with  anyone  and  it  not  mean  anything,  but  everything  was  so    𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁   with  jughead  in  a  way  she  could  not  describe.   she  didn't  hold  back.   she  allowed  herself  to  do  whatever  she  wanted  with  jughead,  she  knew  he  could  handle  it,  she  knew  he  would  do  absolutely    𝗮𝗻𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴   for  her.   but  that  didn't  mean  she  didn't  like  having  her  own  fun  with  him  and  hearing  him  beg  her  a  little,  well  it  just  made  her  heart  race  a  little  more,   "   so  impatient,  jughead,    "   betty  scolded  playfully,  dropping  the  robe  she  was  wearing  to  reveal  the  black  lace  lingerie  she  was  wearing,  turning  to  face  him  with  a  small  smirk,  hands  moving  to  pull  blonde  curls  up  into  a  ponytail,   "   i  like  hearing  you  beg.   maybe  i  should  make  you  do  it  more  often,    "   she  teased,  moving  over  to  him  as  to  where  he  is  sat  on  her  bed,  hand  trailing  along  his  leg  as  she  looks  over  at  him  with  green  eyes  shining.   moving  onto  the  bed,  she  straddles  his  lap  with  ease,  ponytail  swinging  ever  so  slightly  with  the  movement.   her  hands  resting  on  his  shoulders  for  a  moment  before  sliding  down  his  chest  to  the  buttons  of  his  shirt,   "   you're  saying  stop  teasing,  i  haven't  even  started  yet   .   .   .   or  are  you  talking  about  what  was  going  on  downstairs?    "   oh  she  knew  that  jughead  had  a    𝗷𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗼𝘂𝘀  𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸   whether  he  wanted  to  admit  it  or  not.   her  teasing  just  started  with  her  being  flirty  with  someone  else,  knowing  he  wouldn't  be  able  to  handle  it.   which  was  how  they  found  themselves  up  in  her  room,  bedroom  door  locked  and  nothing  else  mattered.   hips  grind  a  little  against  him,  teasing  him  with  a  smirk  before  stopping,  wanting  to  drive  him  just  absolutely  insane  with  as  little  effort  as  possible.   she  was  trying  to  push  him  to  the  edge,  to  as  far  as  he  could  take  it  until  he  has  had  enough  and  takes    𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹  𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹   in  the  situation.   hands  move  up  into  his  hair,  gripping  a  little  as  she  leans  in  as  if  she's  going  to  kiss  him,  just  stopping  right  before  his  lips,   "   do  you  not  like  seeing  another  guy  with  his  hands  on  me?   maybe  you  should  show  me  why  i  always  chose  you,    "

    𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝘆  𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻'𝘁  𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆  𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄  𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲  𝘀𝗵𝗲  𝗳𝗶𝘁  𝗶𝗻  𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲,   the  war  that  had  gotten  so  far  out  of  control  had  completely  gotten  out  of  hand  and  the  result  of  it  had  left  a  lot  of  unanswered  questions,  a  lot  of  mistrust  and  it  seemed  neither  side  was  fully  happy.   so  it  must  be  a  good  thing,  right?   she  had  always  been  used  to  people  not  trusting  her,  even  amongst  the  saviors  there  had  always  been  a  distance  between  herself  and  the  others  due  to  her  connection  to  negan.   here  in  alexandria?   she  considered  it  a  good  day  if  one  of  the  alexandrians  would  look  her  in  the  eye  when  speaking  to  her.   she  understood  it  would  take  time,  but  it  was  more  than  that  and  she  doubted  even  with  time,  even  if  she  fought  alongside  them  to  protect  what  they  had  here,  it  was  possible  they  would    𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿   trust  her.   well,  not  everyone.   there  was  one  person  at  alexandria  who  already  trusted  her  and  she  wasn't  even  sure  what  she  had  done  to  earn  his  trust.

    𝗷𝘂𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱  𝗷𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀  𝘄𝗮𝘀  𝘂𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲  𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲  𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗲  𝘀𝗵𝗲  𝗵𝗮𝗱  𝗺𝗲𝘁,   he  made  her  smile  and  laugh  in  a  way  that  no  one  else  ever  really  had,  made  her  blush  in  a  way  that  made  her  feel  like  she  was  just  some  silly  lovestruck  girl  in  the  books  she  had  read,  he  wanted  to  know  who  she  really  was  and  never  judged  her  for  the  fact  that  she  had  been  a  savior.   she  didn't  know  what  to  think  of  it,  all  she  knew  that  she  couldn't  imagine  her  life    𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁   him  and  she  was  glad  to  have  a  chance  to  be  with  him properly.   but  that  didn't  mean  things  were  suddenly  easy.   being  in  alexandria  with  jughead  was  a  struggle  and  she  couldn't  help  but  think  that  she  was  making  his  life  harder,  she  found  herself    𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴   not  running  away  with  him  when  he  had  offered.   but  there  was  no  way  she  would  run  now,  not  whilst  negan  was  locked  away  in  alexandria.

    𝗶𝘁  𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁  𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲  𝗶𝘁  𝘀𝗼  𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵  𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗲  𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁  𝘀𝗵𝗲  𝘄𝗮𝘀  𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴  𝗸𝗲𝗽𝘁  𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺  𝗵𝗶𝗺,   that  no  matter  how  much  she  asked  nicely  and  seemed  to  show  that  she  was  at  least  trying  to  be  a  part  of  alexandria,  as  well  as  getting  the  other  saviors  to  play  nice,  she  was  still  being   𝗿𝗲𝗳𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱   access  to  negan.   rick  kept  promising  that  it  wasn't  a  punishment  for  her,  but  despite  his  promises,  she  couldn't  help  but  feel  a  resentment  growing  towards  the  alexandria  leader.   no  one  had  ever  really  understood  the    𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗱   between  her  and  negan,  she  didn't  care  to  really  explain  it  to  anyone,  but  she  wished  she  could  because  if  rick  understood,  maybe  she  would  be  allowed  to  see  him.   however,  she  wasn't  going  to  beg  or  grovel  to  the  likes  of  rick  grimes  and  her  own  stubbornness  would  be  the  thing  getting  in  her  way,  which  just  led  to  more  hurt  and  anger  that  she  didn't  know  what  to  do  with.   she  found  herself  withdrawing,  not  really  sure  on  what  to  do  and  feeling    𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘁   for  the  first  time  in  so  many  years.   nothing  she  could  do  was  helping  and  she  felt  more  defeated  than  ever.

    𝘀𝗵𝗲  𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗻'𝘁  𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻  𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱  𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁  𝗷𝘂𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱  𝗵𝗮𝗱  𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲  𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲,   yet  alone  had  come  to  find  her  where  she  was  sat  in  the  windowsill  of  one  of  the  upstairs  bedrooms  of  the  house  they  occupied  together.   but  when  she  heard  him  speak,  she  couldn't  stop  herself  from  looking  over  at  him,  arms  relaxing  the  tight  hold  they  had  on  her  own  knees  that  she  had  been  hugging  to  her  chest.   betty  knew  by  becoming  more  withdrawn,  she  had  become  distant  from  him  and  they  were  still  figuring  each  other  out,  how  their  lives  worked  now  they  could  actually  be  together.   hearing  him  say  that  to  her  meant  more  to  her  than  she  could  ever  find  the  words  to  express.   moving  from  where  she  was  sat,  she  walked  over  to  him  and  slowly  wrapped  her  arms  around  him,  burying  her  face  into  his  neck  and  just  allowed  herself  to  be    𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗱,   trying  not  completely  break  apart  in  his  arms.   pulling  back  a  little,  just  enough  that  she  could  look  up  at  him,  completely  aware  that  her  green  eyes  are  shiny  with  tears  that  she  was  trying  to  not  let  fall,   "   thank  you,    "   she  says  softly,  a  single  tear  escaping  and  sliding  down  her  cheek.

    𝓱𝓸𝔀  𝓬𝓸𝓾𝓵𝓭  𝓪  𝓼𝓲𝓶𝓹𝓵𝓮  𝓺𝓾𝓮𝓼𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷  𝓫𝓮  𝓼𝓸  𝓵𝓸𝓪𝓭𝓮𝓭?   betty  knew  that  it  wasn't  just  a  simple  yes  or  no  question,  trust  was  extremely  different  with  someone  like  jughead.   it  was  strange  to  think  a  few  months  ago,  she  would've  done  anything  to  avoid  his  gaze  if  she  had  seen  him  at  pops  or  passed  him  in  the  hallway  at  school.   but  he  didn't  just  notice  her  as  she  walked  by,  he    𝓼𝓪𝔀   her  and  that  made  her  feel  so  powerful  in  a  way  she  could  not  describe.   that  someone  as  dangerous  and  alluring  as  jughead  hones  wanted  her  and  saw  her  for  who  she  really  is  when  no  one  else  did.   she  had    𝓪𝓫𝓼𝓸𝓵𝓾𝓽𝓮  𝓽𝓻𝓾𝓼𝓽   in  him  that  would  always  be  the  case.   but  it  was  more  than  that,  she  trusted  that  he  was  always  honest  with  her,  that  she  didn't  have  to  push  for  him  to  tell  her  things  because  he  would  eventually  open  up  to  her.   it  was  somewhat  obvious  to  her  that  he    𝓽𝓻𝓾𝓼𝓽𝓮𝓭   her  on  some  level  and  she  knew  he  didn't  hand  his  trust  out  easily  to  just  anyone.   betty  trusted  that  he  would  do  whatever  he  could  to  keep  her  safe.   she  knew  she  trusted  him    𝔀𝓲𝓽𝓱𝓸𝓾𝓽  𝓪  𝓭𝓸𝓾𝓫𝓽,   but  then  why  did  a  simpel  yes  not  feel  like  enough?   

    𝔀𝓱𝔂  𝔀𝓪𝓼  𝓱𝓮  𝓪𝓼𝓴𝓲𝓷𝓰?   did  he  not  trust  her  like  she  thought  he  did?   was  this  his  way  of  trying  to  figure  out  if  she  was  just  as    𝓷𝓪𝓲𝓿𝓮   as  everyone  said  she  was?​​​​​​​   did  he  really  just  see  her  as  the  silly  girl  next  door  who  just  is  caught  up  in  her  feelings?​​​​​​​   there  was  no  way  he  did.​​​​​​​   that  wasn't  why  he  was  asking.​​​​​​​   this  wasn't  about  doubt.​​​​​​​   this  was  for​​​​​​​    𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓼𝓼𝓾𝓻𝓪𝓷𝓬𝓮.​​​​​​​   no  one  trusted  a  serpent,  especially  not  a  serpent  prince  like  jughead  jones.​​​​​​​   yes,  the  other  serpents  probably  trusted  him,  but  no  one  else  felt  like  they  had  to.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​   betty,  on  the  other  hand,  was  no  serpent  and  she  had  a​​​​​​​    𝓬𝓱𝓸𝓲𝓬𝓮​​​​​​​   to  run  in  the  other  direction.​​​​​​​   except  she  didn't.​​​​​​​   she  didn't  run  the  first  time  he  approached  her  at  that  party  and  she  was  not  running  now.​​​​​​​   if  anything,  him  asking  her  just  made  her  heart  race  a  little  more  and  she  knew  she  was  just  falling  for  the  serpent  prince  just  that  little  bit  more.

    𝓶𝓸𝓿𝓲𝓷𝓰  𝓽𝓸𝔀𝓪𝓻𝓭𝓼  𝓱𝓲𝓶  𝔀𝓲𝓽𝓱  𝓪  𝓼𝓸𝓯𝓽  ��𝓸𝓸𝓴  𝓸𝓷  𝓱𝓮𝓻  𝓯𝓪𝓬𝓮,   hands  moving  to  rest  on  his  shoulders,  which  was  easy  to  do  with  the  way  he  was  sat  on  the  edge  of  her  bed.   the  soft  glow  of  the  lamp  and  the  candles  made  him  look  like  he  was  glowing,  blue  eyes  shining  as  she  looked  at  him.   a  hand  moving  to  his  cheek,  finger  stroking  along  his  cheekbone  as  she  gave  him  a  smile,   "   of  course  i  trust  you.   if  i  didn't,  you  wouldn't  be  here,    "   betty  promised,  her  voice  soft  but  reassuring  as  she  looked  at  him,  a  hand  moving  up  to  pull  the  hat  from  his  hand,  just  to  run  her  hands  through  his  hair  gently,   "   i  trust  you  more  than  i  trust  anyone  else  in  my  life.   i  don't  want  you  to  ever  question  if  i  trust  you  or  not  because  you  will  always  have  that,  no  doubt  about  it,    "
