…I’m convinced it’s a combination of glue huffing, hubris, nepotism, and low bars that get people hired to write shows these days. I’m not even talking about The Witcher, which violated the Geneva convention with how much the writing gave fans physical pain.

Christ, during my dissertation process, I got annihilated by my committee over each word choice. I had to get rid of whole chapters*. I had to write memo after memo about chunks of word selections.

It was hard and brutal.

Still, I ended up with a PhD, and my work ended up being published in different journals when all was said and done. It was solid.

Why don’t mainstream writers deal with this?! FUCK!

*= I ended up taking one, polished it up, and sent it to a publisher. It’s now a chapter in a major textbook so there’s fucking that.

I haven't eaten that well tbh, i been eating lots of recipes with potatos and ordering stuff with potatos because my mom doesn't have any good money so we've been struggling a bit with money and stuff for a long time so im used to it i guess jskdk and potatos are all that we had at home.

I have been okay but at the same time very bad because I don't know if i wanna come back here, some of y'all postal art is very triggering for me and im a little disgusted at times, i just wish i could have a little bit more fun you know? Don't worry, I haven't abandoned FL&H despite appearances. I just had a pretty incredible line-up of Fucky Life Events last fall that kind of threw my routine out the window. But chapter 10 is actually technically done-ish? I've just been wrestling with the last scene for like 4 months because I'm not satisfied with it, and I need to be so I can focus on chapter 11 (which is partially written already).

But tysm for this ask and for your lovely comment. It really does make my day and reminds me how much I want to finish this fic however long it takes.

never being taken seriously in a relationship. those who do take you seriously are often leaders or controlling in nature.

feeling like you have the most information in a room. a general swinging between detachment and extreme attachment to any situation at hand. knowing too much and either being calm about it or deeply stressed and anxious.

hiding your fear and stress with seeming euphoria and mania. repressing negative emotions no matter how hard you try to let them out. when they do come out you feel silly because it's so deeply unserious to be feeling this way.

possible side effects are trying and failing to be anything but that. desiring to be beautiful and feared but always ending up the friendly jester. possible sadomasochism. probably a realmist or general beliefs that this reality is maleable and permeable. a feeling of disrespect for most of life outside of your supposed sworn duty as a jester. a general feeling of hopelessness because you are a romantic and a god in your own right but it'll never show. general emotional instability. maybe literally small in stature to add to feeling silly and unserious.

yea I woke up today and remembered I have that curse and will always feel driven to be funny and likable and to give advice and be crowned the jester of the group. and very likely never taken seriously as a partner unless it's by someone who literally claims to see that I'm actually smart and more than just a laughing stock. my nicknames literally used to be jester and hyena.
