we killed a five minute major penalty so well that Nashville only recorded ONE shot for the entirety of their power play some of which was played six on four

more so than that, we kept Nashville to three shots on goal for the entire third period, complete and utter dominance.

we chased Juuse Saros out of the net, one of the league's best goaltenders in the past five or so years

and we are now 13-0-0 when we go into the third period with a lead

but most fucking importantly

Nico Hischier heard and saw and felt how absolutely loved he is by the New Jersey Devils fans. there was a NI-CO chant in the second period, there was a NI-CO chant at the end of the game.

the crowd stood up and gave a STANDING OVATION after the Devils killed that five minute major. a standing fucking ovation. like at one point Jack Hughes and Nico Hischier were the forward pair out there killing that penalty. like. what.

I was kind of feeling down in the first period because the crowd was a bit dead, but, holy shit, did the place come alive in the second period and then it just didn't stop.

I think this might be the best game I've ever been to and I've been to playoff games, playoff games that we won.

I wanna talk real quick about that last scene with Sevika and the new council because I think so many people are missing the point there really bad.

“Zaun deserves more/better” yeah!! They do!! The point is that it’s unrealistic for them to get more in this situation. Sevika is the only zaunite councilor at that entire table, and most of them still look down on her, but they have a seat at the table now, and she has allies, and they have a way to break the cycle and build anew. Maybe those people will never stop looking down on her, but they have the chance to make it so that their children won’t, and that their children’s children won’t. Change takes time, a lot more time than we have. There was never a future here where Piltover immediately saw the error of their ways and everything was good, it takes ages and ages of hard work from both sides to make something that will last.

If the cycle of violence is a well worn path, then what they’re doing isn’t going off of it and blindly stumbling through the brush. They’re following a deer trail. It’s less defined, and it’s harder, but it’s been walked before. And eventually, they won’t need the remnants of a trail, they’ll be able to see the gaps in the undergrowth and the stepping stones along the creek for themselves. It just takes time.
