In N and the egg we heard about Uzi’s hatching story, so I’m curious about the hatching stories for the manor quartet and the rest of the outpost-3 gang

Wonderful that you asked because I absolutely do I have ideas for how the rest of the gang hatched and they are all quite unique.

N

N hatched late he was born in a factory that farmed drones for their body parts since it was so much easier just raising a drone to die than making new gears. N was almost believed to be a still birth till the last moment

V

V was the first to hatch out of her triplets. Named V for victory in the little race. She also pushed her brother A off the little nest they were in that caused him to hatch. Her brothers A and U definitely resented her for that since her mother and father were always so dotting to V in particular. V was also a rouge drone birth so Tessa was the very first human she ever met after being abandoned

J

J was born pretty routinely you see where she was laid this was a faculty for couples who couldn’t have children so used drones as surrogates. Well till they out grew their cute stage and then were dumped. J was cracked open with a small hammer and didn’t have to do the work of pushing away the shell. J unfortunately never got the chance to have that as her hearing loss was a ick for this couple and half way coming home she was tossed in a dumpster in hopes of them saying they simply lost the drone and want a new one. Well don’t worry she was found shortly by S and brought back to the manor.

Cyn

Cyn wasn’t a planned drone not by any means her parents tried to hide her the best they could but unfortunately she had a very loud hatching. Hatching so fast that it broke down the door of the closet her mother was in which kind spiralled her problems.

Thad

Thad hatched on his father’s birthday right in the middle of the song as he was placed on the table and kinda just passed out afterwards. Big explosion then eepy. Lizzy as the good big sister tried to eat the shell bits

Lizzy

Lizzy the ever drama queen and attention enjoyer hatched with an audience. Aero wasn’t handling egg care that well so often came over to Mitch and Yeva’s house for advice. Lizzy hatching as Yeva was rocking her Yeva immediately panicked she had no idea how to handle eggs and by the time she reached the living room Lizzy was already babbling about. Also small side note on how adorable Lizzy was a dronling this was enough to convince Yeva to start a family of her own and let go of the fear of the solver getting to her family.

Doll

Look as much as Yeva and Mitch will gush about their daughter Doll’s hatching was like pretty normal. But after that is all the interesting stuff. You see DD can get up and walk around 2 hours after hatching and Solvers have a small chance of doing the same Doll is that small chance. And oh boy did she get up she went into ever little spot knowing dam well her parents could not get her out. Little rascal. Also solver activated a month or so after that and well babies throwing knives around is pretty stressful if drone could get gray hairs Yeva would look like a DD.

I think I remember you mentioned you hc'd N and Uzi as ace- I'm demi and I love seeing those two as demi myself, but how do you see them? :D

I personally headcannon them both as fully ace (Uzi being biromantic and N being panromantic) but I can totally see them being demi as well!

okay, so while ive got this theory cooking up, i have this question, just for fun!!! :

a collection of obscure murder drones headcanons and thoughts before i forget them:

(some of these are very obviously speculative or possibly debunked but i just think they’re neat)

worker drones have more insect symbolism and behavior while dissassembly drones act more like wild animals, specifically carnivorous or cat-like (classic predator and prey) Nature repeats itself even if its through manmade robots, it would seem

worker drones, after humans kicked the bucket, continue to develop and update based on their initial software as some sort of survival instinct (not including the absolute solver), in order to keep on going. i imagine their software would have to heavily adapt to frequently creating little pill babies with their code, and maybe even certain instincts to protect themselves from murder drones

dissassembly drones can sometimes have different body builds based on status: lither bodies and less complicated outfits for squad members and more sophisticated getup and thicker / taller body mass for squad leaders, or maybe just specifically for pilots like N. (it could very well be a gender thing but i just think this idea is cooler!)

lil developing drones pick out their hard hats and what color they want when they’re old enough to be built a head, and once you have it built in and melded to your robot skull there’s no changing it. so Uzi partially wears a beanie because she hates the color of hers and wants to cover it up to uphold her emo phase aesthetic

drones don’t wear pants because… well they tried when first integrating themselves into a society, but because of how flat their bodies are built, they just slide right off. Maybe they could modify fabric or come up with some gadget to make them fit, but maybe it’s just not worth the trouble. (moreso, for an embarrassingly long time i thought the fuzz underneath Uzi’s hoodie was a skirt, but no it’s just the bottom of her hoodie… and i was wondering why literally no other drone in the show wore any fuckin pants)

before she rebooted as a zombie drone, little maid Cyn had the exact same personality as the solver acted out in episode 5 (just without the eltrich horror and glados voice attached) and just used it to blend in

i like to think there are a bunch more disassembly drones that the solver has under its belt that are scattered all over the other parts of Copper-9, scrounging other colonies and just waiting to appear in the big final fight or whatever the solver has planned up for the finale… the whole alphabet squad pulling up

branching off of this one, when serial designation bots run out of letters they cycle through them again, imagine N face to face with another DD and they have the same name and V just kills his proclaimed brother in front of his eyes traumatizing him forever
