Gordon/Barney/Alyx is really really funny to me conceptually bc it's like, two hot geniuses in their 20s who look at the 40-something smartass who hangs around and go 'yeah that guy. we both want him carnally'

Please welcome @theartofdreaming1 to CSSNS!
How long have you been in the CS/OUAT fandom?
I've been into OUAT since it started airing in Germany in 2012 - but since I preferred watching it in English, I kinda had to wait until I could buy the DVDs for my viewing pleasure... So I've been more of a passive fan, dipping in and out of the fandom whenever the mood struck... And these past few months, the OUAT/CS mood has been thoroughly rekindled ;)
When did you start shipping Captain Swan?
With the beginning of season 3, I think (definitely was intrigued by the idea of CS early on in season 2, but I think I only fully committed to CS when the Neverland arc began)
What drew you to this event?*
It's been a while since I've had the time to participate in a fandom event, so it's been really serendipitious that this event coincided with me catching another bout of OUAT-fever and having finally handed in my BA thesis :)
What inspired your topic?
Mermaids are some of my favorite supernatural/mythological beings and I haven't gotten around to drawing mermaids in a while, soo... (plus, I think it fits nicely with the nautical theme Killian's got going on, lol)
If you would like to share a snippet/sneak peek/summary of your fic or artwork, please use the space below.
It's still in the early stages... I'm still deciding whether I want to go for an Enchanted Forest setting or a modern setting (kinda Shape of Water-vibes; maybe with Killian as a marine biologist?)
For our artists: What kind of art do you like to do? Picsets, painting, digital, etc? Feel free to give as much info as you like.
Digital art/illustration
What are you looking forward to most about participating in this event?
Getting to know some more fellow OUAT/CS fans, collaborating on a bigger project... and getting to draw some Captain Swan, of course! ;)
@theartofdreaming1 will be doing artwork for @beckettj dropping on 7/1 and her own original artwork drops on 7/15. Make sure to say hi to her on Tumblr and on Discord!

Lynn Wilson (@lynnski777) joins Kate Taylor (@katetaylorart), along with 77 other talented abstract artists in our Abstract² show! Lynn writes: "On paper it says I'm 70 (how'd that happen?!) but not in my head, or in my soul! I had always envisioned myself one day becoming a kind of "bohemian artist" living the creative life, but it didn't happen that way. Life kind of got in the way; marriage, 2nd marriage, child, running our own furniture refinishing business in Toronto, etc. I quit a very intense sales position shortly after I turned 50, couldn't take the “bullshit" anymore!! I'm self-taught, but throughout many years I've taken classes on hand painting on silk, watercolours, studied Colour Theory at Seneca College, ceramics, glazing, pottery wheel, mask making, and most recently about 5 years ago started taking online art classes (artists: Wyanne, Emma Pettit, Effy Wild, Deb Weiers, Fonda Clark Haight). I had lost interest, kind of, in creative aspirations about 6 years ago (post breast cancer) but serendipitious happenings led me to find Fonda's Down Deep Class - Mining Your Truths on Your Creative Journey in 2017 that included Altered Book Journaling!! I got inspired again!! I dove in head first, big time! I ended up being asked to give live classes, through ASK (Art Society King) King City, Ontario, where I have been a member since 2014 and also asked to do private classes. I am also a member of SOYRA (Society of York Region Artists) since 2003. I had picked up the brushes again shortly after quiting my corporate job, did a couple of booth shows, then entered a couple of pieces in to the juried Aurora Annual Art Show (37th??) I sold a huge floral piece within the first hour of the show!! I was hooked! This year's was the 58th Annual show My style has changed throughout the years, I did mostly impressionist Florals when I began, but always painted large canvas and with bold colours! I've moved more in to Abstract now, incorporating the influences of using my own collage mediums along with inks, graphite, charcoal, acrylics and water-based oils. Thanks for your interest and taking the time to read my story!! www.artbylynnwilson.com https://instagr.am/p/CgAO6_euE-c/

Reflecting on our out of kilter world
Reflecting on our out of kilter world
Matthias Schack-Arnott at the Groundswell installation in Rundle Mall. Groundswell Adelaide Festival When it feels as though the world is turning on its axis, it seems serendipitious in timing for the public art installation Groundswell, located in Rundle Mall during this year’s Adelaide Festival. It is the third of Adelaide Festival’s interactive public art works in the mall, following on…

I've got a major case of the 'self-doubts' lately. And it's sadly kept me from doing much creating. But then these words appeared in my art journal that's been sitting on my desk all week. Guess I should take my journals advice. #letgo #foundwords #booktext #artjournal #artjournaling #serendipitiousness #itsaword #really

If you want to have great ideas, develop the habit of constant ideation. - Those with the best ideas (or the perception of an increased potency of creative magic - "the golden touch") are often the people churning out ideas 10 to 20 times more than their peers. - The reason? To this day, no one really knows when a great idea will strike or what it will look like. There may be a process for putting out ideas, but no one really knows with 100% certainty (even when gut and intuition are at play) if one of those ideas will be a hit. - So the key is to increase the velocity of the ideas you come up with (see iteration velocity). What you are trying to do is come up with more "chances." No one, short of extreme luck, hits spot on with their first idea. To hit more home runs, you need more at bats. - This is also beneficial when you're seeking more novelty and originality in your ideas. Typically, your first few ideas will tend to be on the conservative side - the obvious is usually the first bet. It's not until you get to about the 20th iteration that you start to feel the pull of desperation and ideas stretch really wide. - Time is also a factor here. Once you start the ideation process, it's good to let your mind wonder a bit - go out and do other things, read, party, have random and diverging convos. Essentially, you want to give your brain opportunities for more serendipitious connection. - But of course, the most important thing to remember is to just commit to a routine of coming up with more ideas on a more regular basis. - #MULFMAB advising, developing and empowering creatives and companies within #fashion #music #art #tech #design and beyond on #business #marketing #branding #sales #finance #culture #businessbuilders #brandbuilders #dealmakers #cultureconnectors #Myuberlife #ideation

Welcome, Don Meyers seedlings!!

thursday: home. fitful sleep due to house having mice(?!?!! how did this happen) which make noise. got up at 9 to get ready to go to misha’s place by car and help move her shit. after that, we went to ikea and then trawled craigslist for a while. drove to bushwick and vetoed a couch, then hooked it up w/ some pickup action for a bedframe in UES. parked car in a 7am-7pm no parking zone, went to e70 and mopped a bit, and called it a night.
in the night i was very cold and apparently made a lot of noise tossing and turning. i woke up misha who was very cranky
friday: woke up early to get car. got donuts. DONUTS! moved bedframe pieces in, only to find that we were missing two main parts. i was highly displeased. fortunately we were able to grab them quickly from the seller (who was only a few blocks away). then drove to chelsea to get a couch. minor disassembly led to frustration later on when one of the screws that would attach the leg to the couch disappeared inside the couch ............WHY after driving in circles for an hour trying to find parking, we found a decent spot and got food, then went for a brief shopping spree (picked up a mirror from goodwill (NO WARP)), and toured bed bath & beyond then returned to studio to build rest of furniture (i struggled with this bedframe. do not recommend. (it’s the now discontinued nordli model)) and try to figure out what to do about the couch. we will probably just get a drill and drill a new screw into this couch/leg. whoop dee doo
i’m tired as fuck at the time of writing this
also i discovered that the right crankarm on my yellow fixie is fucked in the threads (from last time) sooooooooooo I think I have to get a new crankarm. I am just going to throw money at the problem because I don’t have the tools to replace this and also I’m lazy. alright maybe i’ll youtube a solution and see if it is feasible.
i also need to finally sell that large miyata that fits no one
Saturday: bike errands, roaming East Village with Emily and Luca, biked home, went to see grandma for a hot second (grandma literally remembers the names of no one / does not seem to be cognizant of anything)
Sunday: biked to Untermyer Gardens in Yonkers on my newly upgraded internetbike, then returned home to shower and eat, and then helped my uncle (Ivan’s dad) get a flat fixed (we brought it to a nice shop because he refused to let me fix it, and we needed a tube anyway), then got a ride to train station and took the train to Here Arts Center to watch a show that Greg *HIGHLY* recommended. It was alright. The audience ruined it by laughing at parts that were not funny. Also bumped into Alice there because Greg also coerced her into going to this show. After the show we met up with Greg and walked to Dos Caminos for dinner. Then we disbanded and I went home. Serendipitiously caught the Q47, which has apparently moved terminal stops.
Monday: rest day. did errands. more errands to follow.
Edit: drove some furniture around for Misha, we succeeded in sourcing all objects. Most notable was our after-midnight purchase of a dresser that I then dropped on its head.
Tuesday: mom and i drove to Planting Fields in Oyster Bay, Long Island, because I refused to go to the Bronx Botanical Garden after seeing online that it cost $23/person. Planting Fields only cost $8/car.
It was good! I mostly enjoyed the greenhouse, and took loads of photos. There were also a good number of rhododendrons, which I enjoyed.
