No, the bulk of your childhood is spent in the care of your older siblings. You think they feel sorry for you – you are a sickly little thing, illnesses seem to stick to you like glue. You watch in awe as they seize the stage, capturing the audience's attention, their applause, their adoration. They are beloved, even if they are not known. And, most importantly, when all is said and done, they depart your miserable little town and go on to the next thing. To you, it seems that the actors and actresses in that troupe have it all figured out – they get to go where they please, be whoever they want to be, and live a life you could only ever imagine. As cliche as it may sound, you realise at this moment that you are destined for the stage.

Of course, actually achieving these goals will inevitably prove difficult. Your family is less than thrilled by your new aspirations – though your health improves as you grow, you continue to shirk duties at home to recite poetry and practice singing. You start viewing your siblings as unsophisticated for having dreams that are less ambitious than your own. Your parents, for their part, mock your goals at every turn. And all this without even mentioning your rather undesirable peers. See, it proves far more arduous than anticipated to form a theatre troupe in a place such as Brailya. Where most of your peers are simply focused on surviving the week, it is difficult to find any who would dare to dream of something beyond squalor and despair. You live in a sinkhole – a world marred by misery, determined to bring you down along with everybody else.

You first meet JAYESH ADANI in a local tavern. You have taken to waitressing whilst you await your big break – and though Jayesh is a nobody when you first meet him, he introduces himself as a playwright and your interests are immediately piqued. Together, you make an odd pairing – just a couple of creatives with dreams bigger than the place they were born in. He casts you as the leading lady in his first production, grants you your first real audience. And... it is even better than you could have imagined. The applause rings in your ears, and you swear it feels like love. They are strangers, yes, and they have only seen a version of you that does not really exist – but, oh, how they adored you. You have had your first taste of greatness, and you decide you will never give it up.

hi everyone!! i definitely didn't mean to be so late with an intro, but thank you guys for the welcomes and welcome backs! this is nicole, also known as the writer behind sooyoung too ^^

miss risa is inspired heavily by a combination of serena van der woodsen (gossip girl) and nurse christine chapel (star trek strange new worlds) and she is a bright, enigmatic, can't tell her no because she'll do it anyway kind of gal. she's a smidge older than some of the muses here, but don't worry ! she won't give too much unsolicited advice - she's definitely not in a position to.

risa has wanted to be a singer since she could talk, and unfortunately for her, an older sibling of hers wanted to be an idol first, so guess who got overlooked! (risa's fine, we just pack it deep down and ignore it, it's all good) so she decided to pursue a nursing degree from ewha as soon as possible to satisfy the light requirement her parents set about needing a 'meaningful degree', and since finishing that program is currently pursuing her master's in music composition at snu!

she has no job, but she kinda goes all over the place and has a ridiculously wide social circle, so there are certainly opportunities abound for our muses to meet and form a connection!

i'll hopefully have some starter/plot ideas up soon, but in the meantime, i would love to brainstorm with anyone!!

one. goldie had never been close to her parents. her father was often thinking of and acting on his next get rich quick scheme which kept him in and out of jail, and her mother was too preoccupied with her own issues to focus on her daughter. so goldie spent the majority of her childhood in the care of her maternal grandparents, wilma and david petersen. for the majority of her childhood, goldie did not recognize the dysfunctional family that existed around her. her grandmother often tried to shield her from the reality of the situation, by keeping her busy in the kitchen baking cinnamon roles or cupcakes or brownies. two. when goldie first attended middle school was when she noticed aspects of her life were different. some people just seemed so perfect, and she was desperate to be like them. to be liked. years later her therapist would tell her that was from a combination of both mommy and daddy issues that caused her to crave acceptance and love from any person who could give it. perhaps if she had been able to recognize such issues, her life would have turned out differently. three. in high school goldie often struggled with who she was. her personality seemed to change with the wind, often matching that of whoever she was dating at the time. goldie, unfortunately, often compared her self worth to if she was in a relationship, a fault of her's that had still followed her into her adult years. while in high school, goldie was unsure of what her passions lied. she tended to focus on the here and now, which severely effected her ability to get accepted in college her senior year of high school four. she decided to go to community college to try to find herself. figure out her goals. instead she found a new boyfriend. one that made her feel like she was put on a pedestal and could never come down. on a whim she dropped out of school and followed him states away to denver, colorado where he said they'd build their life together. the pregnancy was a surprise for the both of them, but goldie was determined to make it work. she was in love, after all. deciding to get a waitress job to earn money for the baby, goldie felt nothing but excitement. unfortunately that didn't last long. her ex couldn't keep any promise he made, and goldie found she was the only one able to hold a job and bring in any form of income for the two of them. pressure began to build, and the two fought often. refusing to give up, goldie swallowed her pride and tried to make the best out of the situation. five. unfortunately no amount of love or hope made the situation better. and by the time her daughter was seven, goldie had enough. and it seemed the universe looked down on her in that moment. she received a message from her grandmother, mentioning the recent passing of her papa david and that she would appreciate it if the trio could come to the funeral in chicago to remember him. after a few conversations over the phone, goldie used the funeral as an excuse to pack her and her daughter up in a car (along with other belongings) and leave kansas for good. six. moving into her grandmother's home in willow peak is only supposed to be temporary. goldie's plan is to save enough money to successfully move her and her daughter out, and eventually open up a business of her own. a bakery. baking had always been a distraction for her in life, a way to find peace and focus. so why not follow that passion? unfortunately chicago isn't cheap, and she's feeling as though she's constantly struggling to keep her head above water. but she won't give up. both she and her daughter deserve better then what they've had.

goldie has only been back in town about a month and a half. she has successfully found a waitress job and living with her grandparents in sycamore row.

when she left denver, goldie moved back into her grandparent's home. as there are only two bedrooms, she made the decision to share a bed with her grandmother to allow her daughter to have her own bedroom. the bedroom is actually goldie's old childhood bedroom, but she's okay with giving it up so that her daughter has her own space.

one of the only things she still kept with her from her time with her ex was a stuffed elephant plushie he had won for her at a carnival during their first year of dating. regardless of how things ended, she can't seem to get rid of it.

she is currently saving up to rent an apartment of her own, and is keeping her emergency fund of cash in an envelope in a book next to her bed.

for all intensive purposes, goldie essentially fell off the map when she moved to denver. any old friendships she might have made fizzled out and she's terrified to run into people from her past now that she's back home.
