ok so like. yugioh fans what the fuck is the prana and what is the millennium cube even made of. bc it had no slot in the millennium slab nor did bakura ever mention it existing. the plana and cube are diff things but theyre connected and kaiba is using the cube after the plana is destroyed but the prana is like??? important?? i guess??? and it only exists after the pharaoh left for the after life but his return nukes it how does that work what does he have to do with this. send help

1. Kaiba x Yugi - ESTABLISHED. UNBOTHERED. KINGS. 💅💅 (no need explanation for this lol)

2. Jou x Anzu - they're in LDR and to their surprise it's Working 😂 always going with the flow. it started with Jou who had a fcked up sleeping schedule and Anzu who lived 13 hours away and they're the only ones available to voice chat 😂 rivalship happened first but devotion gonna be the first one Getting Married. They're Married Couple material. very american-style wedding.

3. one-sided Otogi->Yugi - Otogi dates a lot of people and is Always Open but his Affection for Yugi cannot be erased... Poor guy QwQ it will never happen bro.

4. Bakura x Malik - Bakura travels to different countries a lot and one day finding himself back in Egypt and Malik guides him around for old friends sake and Things Just Flowed from there 😂 (DARK THEMES tho. Strictly Dark Themes for them) (Like if I always made rivalship being sunshines and rainbows and funny, these two gonna be dark DARK and Messed Up, idk how to explain) (it's called angstshipping for a reason i guess)

Mokuba x Shizuka AND Mokuba x Sera (if following DSOD canon) - always HC-ing Mokuba being like a shonen harem anime protag 😂 he and Shizuka are only 2 years apart and they could've gone to same school together, or maybe same cram school if assuming Mokie goes to Private High School in Domino and Shizuka a public high school somewhere else. Sera's case is just to add more comedy. I don't know her exact age and since she's a Plana and was already there since Bakura's young I assume she's Much Older than she looks 😂 BUT she's a Plana aka she's a Magical Girl. she WILL go to Mokuba's class BECAUSE I SAID SO and she's the Mysterious Transfer Student trope. Shizuka is the sweet senpai trope. Let's GO Mokuba's funny little harem. Maybe add Mokuba x Rebecca too. She's the tsundere know-it-all trope. ALL-IN. Mokuba's getting all the Girls in here. (Shizuka: dandere type. Sera: kuudere type. Rebecca: tsundere type. Holy trinity. For YOU Mokuba!!)

I was thinking about how in DSOD Shadi rescused the Plana kids from terrible situations, with Aigami and Sera being rescued from abuse, and a thought struck me--what if he rescued the Kaiba brothers in the same manner and gave them the Plana powers?

That could be a really interesting AU to have Kaiba grow up around magic, and his mind is definitely sharp enough to both comprehend and counter it, as the movie shows. I could see him being tempted to take revenge on Gozaburo the same was Aigami was for Ryou, or rallying the kids together after Shadi's death to continue focus on their utopia.

Sleepless brain devised another "probably extremely entrenched in pal's ygo fic tastes" bingo card. I put three squares down on a whim and then came up with the other 21 categories and random number generated an order for them on the card.

Don't know when I'll get around to trying it out, but its out in the wild now! Feel free to use this if you want a ygo themed fanfic reading & commenting bingo, I like to give myself around a month to see how many bingos I can get and how many comments I can leave because challenging challenges are fun, but you're free to do whatever time-wise!

Trying to figure out the timeline for the YGO anime is difficult because of the filler arcs but the manga actually has a clear cut timeline you can follow and thus we know that

Sugoroku was 43 when he got the Puzzle back in the 1960's and gave it to Yugi in late 1987- early 1988. Overall the Mutou's have had the puzzle for about 30 years since Yugi solves it in 1996

Everything from Atem's awakening as Yami Yugi to Death T happens between April and Summer of 1996 which is about a 3 or 4 month period since Summer in Japan is [roughly] from June to mid September

There are way bigger gaps between events than you might think. For instance, despite the summer period being around 4 months long only a few things happen during it: from the bingo game down to the Dragon's Card game against Imori

From Autumn of 1996 till Spring of 1997 only three notable things go down: the Joey soul battle, Yami Bakura and Karita's shadow game and Bakura and Yugi's group's Monster World game, which covers everything from mid September of 1996 until May of 1997 so that's a full 8 and a half months to fill in

Everything from the Shadow RPG to the Kaiba and Sera duel takes place during a two year period - from April 1997 to March 1999 which is also the month when DSOD happens

There are other gaps I could talk about but basically what I'm saying is that you have a lot more fic based wiggle room to do inbetween things than you might think which opens up a whole world of fun possibilities!

Thing is Kaiba knows what Atem looks like. He saw him in the Colluseum Duel vision. He saw him in Transcend Game. He knows his name. He says it a bunch in Transcend Game.

I think the reason he made the AI as Yami no Yuugi (which would logically just look like Yuugi with gold armbands and Yami no Yuugi's speech patterns and body language to outsiders) isn't because of some weird romantic or obsessive fixation on the AI as a placeholder.

He doesn't like the AI. He says "it's not enough, it's just a program." I think it's actually the opposite. He purposefully designed it to look like Yami no Yuugi BECAUSE it's not supposed to "replace the real thing." He doesn't say "Other Yuugi," he calls him by his name or by "Pharaoh."

Like I get the tragic AI skynet aus or something but Yami no Yuugi I think he uses specifically BECAUSE he doesn't want Other Yuugi. He jumps straight to trying to get to the Higher Dimension of the Afterlife in Transcend Game and says it's his plan all along, his desire. He falls back on the Puzzle because Mokuba shut it down and they can't predict the next spike. I kind of think he was provoking Sera by going after the Items because he got exactly what he wanted--a source of Prana without relying on chance.

Like obviously he wanted the Puzzle to work. He gets so upset when it's empty. But Kaiba doesn't do things halfway. He wants to see his friend again, AND he wants to be able to. See him. Face to face.

I don't know, I also don't think he wanted to drag Yuugi into it to begin with. Like he acts like a fucking jackass to Yuugi in DSOD and I still can't figure out why. It makes more sense to me, his behavior in transcend game and at the end of DSOD. Not dragging Yuugi into it.

Basically he doesn't want Yami no Yuugi he wants the actual guy. And doesn't want to pull Yuugi by the arm into it.
