One thing I will absolutely praise Stray Gods for is how they just do not humor the idea that Persephone's marriage with Hades was in any way healthy. The Hellenistic myth says that Hades kidnapped her and this is one of the few instances in modern media that doesn't shy away from that. Like, I get wanting to make the myth more palatable, especially if you're going for romance, but greek myths are the absolute wrong place to go for palatable.

I don't know about you, but a story about a woman who was taken away from her home, forced to marry the bastard who kidnapped her, abandoned by the family that she thought would save her, fooling herself into thinking she was actually in love to cope, later realizing that she was only ever just a possession in her husbands eyes, deciding enough is enough and just icing the bastard yourself only for your supposed 'family' to punish you for doing something inconvenient and forcing you on a path of individualism is much much much more compelling than your controlling mom not approving of your boyfriend.

You wanna make a slighted goddess more proactive in her own myth, this is how you do it.
