[ 2024 KIM SEON HO ASIA TOUR in MANILA ]
Tumblr media
In partnership with UFC Mixes, South Korean actor Kim Seonho’s colorful and flavorful fan meet is drawing closer and we are counting down the days to his much-awaited return, the Seonhohada way!
With his natural charm and scene-stealing performances, anyone who comes across any series he stars in is sure to fall head over heels for the Hallyu star; here are Seonho’s top 5 most <Color+Full> roles that won the hearts of many and should check out before we see him again IRL:
Han Jipyeong | Start-Up (2020)
Tumblr media
Seonho’s lovable character in this hit slice-of-life rom-com drama sealed the deal for him in the industry as he gave the viewers major second lead syndrome as Han Jipyeong, a smart businessman who has a hard surface, but a soft heart. Because of his heartwarming scenes with his ‘halmeoni’ (grandmother), he earned the nickname ‘Good Boy’ and led him to win his first ever Baeksang Award for Most Popular Actor – Television.
Oh Jingyu | Strongest Deliveryman (2017)
Tumblr media
Seonho’s role in this slice-of-life romance series which tells the story of a deliveryman who aspires to be a CEO of his own delivery application company, showcased a strong character development throughout the series. Through this drama, he was able to exhibit his versatility as he transformed from being a “bad guy” to a “good boy”.
Gong Suchang | Two Cops (2017-2018)
Tumblr media
In this mystery-action-comedy-packed drama, Seonho challenges himself as he portrays the character of Gong Suchang, a con artist whose soul takes over the body of a detective played by renowned actor Jo Jungsuk. The plot itself is already a peek into the lead actors’ undeniable comedic chemistry that ultimately gave Kim Seonho two MBC Awards for his outstanding performance.
Jung Jaeyoon | 100 Days My Prince (2018)
Tumblr media
Taking a turn from his previous dramas, Seonho takes over the character of second-lead Jung Jaeyoon, the wise hidden advisor of the Crown Prince in the chart-topping romantic historical drama, ‘100 Days My Prince’. With his chemistry with his co-actors, especially with his unrequited love with the main lead, ‘Jung Jaeyoon’ became a beloved character which led the viewers to check out more of Kim Seonho’s projects.
Hong Dusik | Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha (2021)
Tumblr media
His most well-known role to date following his character in ‘Start-Up’ is through the jack-of-all-trades ‘Chief Hong’ from ‘Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha’, one of Korea’s highest-rated series which follows the story of an accomplished dentist from Seoul who goes to a seaside village and meets their all-around Chief, ‘Hong Dusik’.  Because of his character’s personality and with his heartbreaking past, viewers were quick to fall more in love with Seonho, who topped the Korean drama actor brand reputation rankings, which further catapulted him into stardom.
Seonho’s road to fame began as he took a step on the theatre stage, until he landed a role on the small-screen and eventually took over the big screen. From one role to another, he was able to showcase his passion to portray diverse roles in different genres which proved his versatility as an actor.
Now renowned as everyone’s favorite “Good Boy” with a charming smile and his down-to-earth personality behind the scenes, this led him to become one of the most sought-out actors and now, even as an endorser, that Filipino K-fans cheer for.

A/N: Welcome to all, to another episode of 'what the heck I have written!' Dear anon who requested this, I really hope that you will like it and I am sorry if by any chance this isn't what you wanted. Please do send me your feedbacks! Have a great day.
GIF isn't mine
“You may kiss the bride”
“Seon Ho Love, what are you thinking?” A shy voice broke the said man’s trance before a soft smile appeared on his face.
“Nothing love, just can’t imagine that finally we are together after so long and we just got married a few hours ago. Damn, time flies so fast” He stood up before wrapping his arms around your waist before leaving a few wet kisses on your neck making you giggle and turned around in his arms pecking his nose. “Damn, you have a lot of energy left uh? I am still tired and plus, the packing is also remaining.”
“We don’t need to pack love!!”
“Why? Are we gonna wear the same stuff for days there?”
“Well, There is no need. I had booked a private water villa and beach for us. So, that means if you wanna go wild and be na-
“KIM SEON HO!!! What's wrong with you?” You playfully smack his shoulder that made you earn an ‘ouch’ from him.
“I am sorry baby, if that made you uncomfortable, what I meant to say is that if you want we take a few clothes, maybe some from there. I don’t want you to be so tired” He said with a pout.
“I am okay love but we literally spent so much money on clothes and stuff and now not taking them would be a waste. You know, how much I want to click those cute couple aesthetic pictures with you and have our own special break.”
After packing your stuff with Seonho being a helpful as well as unhelpful hand, you both fell asleep as if someone drugged you both.
It was SeonHo who woke up to the golden rays shining brightly on his eyes. He smiled when he saw your cutely parted lips and kissed your nose. He then turned to see what was the time only to-
“Y/N!!! Y/N!!” he started screaming your name and pushing your shoulders before a small groan left from your mouth. “Jagi, what happen-
“We will miss the FLIGHT!” Thats it now, you too were wide awake and started panicking.
“H-how m-much time is left?” You all were rushing with the regular dentary and toiletry routines. “Precisely, 2 hours 5 mins left. We need to hurry.”
As the two of you were rushing down to the lobby, the manager stopped you. “Sir, ma’am. Is everything okay? You are leaving early?”
“Well our flight is sche-

“Honey, he is right. The flight is scheduled for 10 pm instead of 10 am.” You said while stifling a laugh and showed him the time.
He gave an embarrassed smile and apologised before you headed back to your room. “Baby, I am so sorry. I-
“Its okay love and I had already taken a painkiller for my headache so the effect is still present. I think you are still in the thought process of yesterday’s movie.” You said while laughing, making him more embarrassed.
Tumblr media
Finally, you boarded the plane and reached your destination.
The pleasant breeze hit your face making you shudder a bit but at the same time you felt relieved and relaxed. A small click sound was heard and you opened your eyes to see your husband taking pictures of you. “Hey, you need to tell me before clicking pictures so that I can be ready.”
He smiled at you before intertwining your hands together. “You already look so picture perfect and plus, your simple, naturally relaxed face won’t come if I already told you.”
You shook your head and said, “Why don’t we take a selfie together?” He nodded and as you were about to click a picture, “You kissed his cheek before running inside.
He took a minute to process before running after you and behold the great tom and jerry game began.
After about the 10 minutes of mindless chase did you came in his hands and he made sure that you stay in that position.
He held your hands above your head and gently pushed you into the bed with a comfortable silence taking place. "Well, this position is so good that I won't get bored enough." He said with a cheeky smile making you blush.
Before you could say anything further, he placed his right hand's index finger over your lips, "shush.." and then he gently trailed his finger all over your face with ever so slightly pressing his thumb pad at times on your eyes, cheeks and your lips.
Feeling a bit confident, he took a risk and started trailing his hand over your body and checked if you felt uncomfortable in anyway. "S-seon, do s-something please", you said and gave the best pleading look.
He gave you a soft smile before teasing your soft lips with his, making you whine. "Kim S-
That's when he pulled you into a soft kissing session which grew more heated, the room was filled with wet kissing noises and you took the opportunity to hit his lower lip and to dominate the kiss but sadly, you couldn't win as his right hand was still on your body which was distracting you from your mission. He released your arms and cupped your face, pulling you as closer as possible and your hands found home in his soft locks.
As much as you both were enjoying your little makeout session but your lungs were severely deprived of oxygen, making you both break the kiss.
I mean that's what you thought that your lungs were oxygen deprived but this wasn't his case, as soon as he broke the kiss he started attacking your neck with butterfly kisses making you squirm and giving him more access, which made him smile. Knowing how sensitive your neck is, he gave a butterfly kiss before licking the area, gently sucked and bite it before he again repeated his actions making you pull his hair. "Jagi, is i-
"Please, don't stop."  Gladly, he didn't stop and rather his ministrations grew more because he wanted to hear more of your gasps and soft whines of his name which were making him more confident and aroused as well. His heart was swelling with pride that he was the one making you so impatient and whiny from small yet meaningful touches.
While he was busy creating miniature arts on your neck and jaw, his hands were creating new sensations. The delicate touches with slight lingering ones and pinching ones were making you get more aroused with every second, your whole body became a puppet under his charm and control.
"You know, it's hard to control myself when you are looking this gorgeous underneath me and the way my shirt is hugging your body." You smiled before placing his hands once over on your chest and the side of your thigh. "Did you realise something?" You said with a small smirk.
He gave you a confused look before his ears turned red. "I didn't realise that y-
"I am practically naked with you. Guess, I secretly fulfilled your fantasy of being wild and naked."
"I didn't m-mean t-to "Babe, listen… As much as you what me, I want you in the same way and since we were in the middle of it, that's why I told you, okay? But weren't you dominant like a few sec-
He bit over on your chest and licked through the shirt making you gasp, "I still in the position to have a hold over you princess and I am in the thought of not stopping."
"Then don't stop" you whispered and pulled him for another heated kiss while the moon and stars knew it was just the beginning.

⯁ DE:CODE SEPTEMBER EVALUATION: MOVING IN !
SEPTEMBER 10TH & 11TH, 2019  MOVING INTO THE DE:CODE DORM
it’s kind of bittersweet having to move into the dorms so soon. on one hand, it makes everything they’d been told over the last week or so feel real, final. on the other, he had only just moved in with mingyu alone. they can kiss goodbye to privacy; to deep, late night conversations and slow, loving morning kisses. but at the same time, they welcome the stage, bright lights and their dream together.
god, he’s torn.
but he’s grateful — for it all, of course, but especially for being able to continue living with mingyu. maybe it’s dramatic to say he doesn’t know what he’d do if they were separated but after spending the last two years almost curled up in his boyfriend’s embrace every night, it’s so unsettling and uncomfortable being alone. mingyu brings him so much peace, he doesn’t think he could sleep so easily ( even with how exhausted he’s sure debut preparations will make him ) without knowing his boyfriend is only an arm’s length away at most, without knowing they’re both safe. perhaps the other members will think he’s too dependant on his soulmate, but won doesn’t see the harm in it — at least not in their case. he could ( eventually ) sleep without mingyu if he had to, he just doesn’t want to. is it such a crime to want the best for them both?
re-packing stings. there’s no other way to put it. the first time around, he’d got distracted by all the things he forgot he owned, spending time reminiscing on memories with each hidden gem, but this time, he’s seen everything only a few months ago. hell, some of their items they didn’t even have a proper place for yet, still deciding where everything felt naturally best placed. and now they’re moving again already. he sighs.
almost as if on cue, his vision is overtaken by soft, brown ‘fur’.
“hey,” he greets, legs unfolding as he sits on the floor, a box beside him and now, his favourite plush clutched against his chest. “thank you.” patting the space on his other side, mingyu sits close, their thighs brushing and won’s head carefully tilting to rest against his boyfriend’s shoulder.
“everything okay. baby?”
he hums. “I know we only just moved in, so it’s probably kind of silly to already be attached, but I’m going to miss this place.” he looks around their now almost bare room. “it was ours, you know? and I know the dorms will be our space, too, but not... entirely ours. though, I think seonho is the best fit for us to share with, if we have to share with anyone.” he’s probably closer to jaehyun, at least in terms of what they know about one another ( fragments of won’s past, jaehyun’s relationship — they trust each another ), but the youngest member is full of energy, affectionate enough that it wouldn’t seem so out of place for he and mingyu to cuddle, too, and to hold hands sometimes and find solace in each other’s company.
he just hopes seonho isn’t messy — at least, not uncontrollably so.
but won doesn’t cry, not because he thinks it in poor taste ( won could cry at the smallest things; he feels no shame for having emotions and will never ) but because he doesn’t want to ruin their last night in their apartment. instead, he thinks about how fun it will likely be to have friends around him all the time; to cook for together and share stories and look out for each other. he thinks about how they’ll all be debuting eventually, how this is the first step on the journey of a lifetime. he even thinks way in the future, when de:code are hopefully so popular and so cemented in the industry that they can afford to move out again should they want to, to get a place together just him and mingyu again to wind down as they get older.
eventually, he falls asleep that night, plush still tight against his chest and mingyu’s.
the following day, they take the plunge and head over to their new home. the car ride is a little nervous, neither of them really sure what to expect, but when they wander in through the front door, some of the members milling about trying to settle in themselves, he thinks things won’t be so bad.
it’s clean, tidy ( for now ). only one bathroom, but perhaps that won’t be so much of a problem if they coordinate efficiently. well-equipped kitchen, comfy beds— he can’t complain. sure, it’s not home ( yet ), but it has the potential to be, and with mingyu by his side, he already feels like he’s exactly where he’s supposed to be.

SPARK . | YU SEONHO
- admin xion
genre: fluff/soulmate!au group/member: yu seonho word count: 1, 966 requested: no side notes: dedicated to my bubs @xiupch // I FEEL LIKE IT’S BAD SO I’M SORRY BUBS ILYILYIYLLLL
prompt: you and seonho just had that spark that no other duo had
Tumblr media
the term ‘spark’ actually has four different definitions on google if you looked it up
seonho was highly fascinated by that at first and aggressively tapped your shoulder until you gave him your attention
“dude, spark has four different definitions”
“seonho why are you looking up the definition of spark-”
“because i feel a spark between us,” he replied with a cheeky smirk before dramatically winking
your relationship with seonho was purely platonic (despite all of his cheesy pick up lines that you force yourself to look past on)
even if you did develop feelings for seonho, you were 99% sure seonho would love mongsil (his dog) more than you
you clearly remember how you met seonho
and he was showing his love for mongsil at the time as well
but that was the first time you’ve ever felt a spark in your life, even through the gloomy weather
it was slightly rainy outside, but people still put up their umbrellas and walked safely through the rain
you remembered having to visit your new school right after yours ended and despite the weather conditions, you forced yourself to go
that day was the only day you had the opportunity to check out the campus without having to be scolded for violations of some sort
right after your special tour given by the principal, you left the school and noticed almost a ‘blob’ looking shape at the front entrance
the more you approached it, you noticed it was a boy wearing, a brown trench coat and held a clear umbrella
he seemed almost like a model with soft features and pink lips
under his trench coat seemed to be the uniform to the school you were soon transferring too
his trench coat wasn’t buttoned up
your neck extended a bit to see as to why he was kneeling and found out that he was petting a dog who was eager for the boy’s attention
when the dog’s eye sight averted from his and landed on your eyes, the boy turned around blankly and saw you standing there
“aH- YOU SCARED ME” he blurted and fell back onto his bottom
the back of his trench coat must’ve gotten wet
you found it a shame because you personally liked his trench coat
his sudden scream made you jump a bit and caused you to place your hand onto your chest to feel your heart beat increase from the shock
the dog seemed to lose interest in the boy quite quickly when it wasn’t giving it the attention it needed
with the owner not holding onto the leash, the dog walked off with a smile across it’s face
“wait mongsil- wAIT” the boy blurted and quickly grabbed it’s leash
mongsil easily (and lazily) surrendered and walked back towards the boy
though the floor was wet, the boy didn’t seem to mind sitting on the floor
mongsil hopped onto the boy’s lap and while the boy playfully kissed mongsil
you felt as though you were third wheeling at this point
and out of the nowhere, the boy’s eyes meet yours
he blankly stares at you and admires your features before breaking out into a soft smile and placing out his hand
“i’m seonho! nice to meet you!” he announced
just like that, you had a ignite inside you
you felt as though there were fireworks exploding in the air through the light rain
you physically felt your heart clench a bit and the rate of it increasing
to put it to short, you felt a spark meeting yu seonho
seonho slammed open the door to your classroom and rushed in before yelling “Y/N MAKE SURE NOT TO SLEEP IN! TOMORROW’S OUR CAMPING TRIP!”
your cheeks flushed out of embarrassment but seonho didn’t seem to care about all the attention he caused
especially since the class was in the middle of doing a test
once he noticed the teacher’s strong glare and noticed what type of sheets were on each of your desks, his eyes gawked while he ran out of the classroom as though his life depended on it
a soft sigh escaped from your lips when you wondered about what you were going to do with him
the next day, you showed up to school just on time with your luggage
there was already a line up of students outside the classrooms with multiple teachers standing around and chatting to one another
you glanced around and didn’t notice seonho
in reality, it was quite easy to spot seonho since he’s an actual giant
but you couldn’t spot a tall figure in the crowd possibly yelling about his toothpaste so it was obvious that he slept in
you pulled out your phone and instantly texted seonho, asking where he is
you: where are you
you: we’re about to go soon
seonho: wHY ARE YOU TEXTING ME AT 9PM IN THE NIGHT LET ME SLEEP
you: FIRST OF ALL YOU DON’T EVEN SLEEP AT 9AM
you: AND IT’S 9AM YOU IDIOT WE HAVE THE CAMPING TRIP
seonho: WHAT
you: DUDE
seonho: DUDE
seonho: I HAVEN’T EVEN PACKED MY LUGGAGE YET WAIT-
you rolled your eyes and anxiously tapped your foot against the floor
to release the stress, you gripped onto the straps of your filled backpack and sighed
you noticed the tall buses have arrived at the front of the school and still not sign of a tall giant whose hair is possibly still messy to be in sight
you forced yourself to be distracted by all of your friends who were throwing multiple jokes here and there
a few laughs where thrown out here and there but you the anxiety still got to you and you wondered if seonho would make it on time
when the classes had to begin lining up to enter the bus, they were doing a final role call and was slowly getting down to seonho’s name
“yu seonho?” his teacher announced
“here” a familiar voice blurted
everyone’s attention was drawn towards the voice
people noticed how seonho wasn’t there either and asked you if you knew anything
seonho caught your eye and playfully winked with a soft smile across his face
you could feel the heat rising to your cheeks but you couldn’t help but smile in return
at a far distance behind him was a taxi that was driving off
you predictions were correct
seonho’s hair was still a mess and his luggage probably wasn’t packed properly
he probably just shoved everything inside and attempted to shove mongsil inside as well but that obviously didn’t work
in which he did and soon told you about on the bus
“MONGSIL WAS ABOUT TO BITE ME AND I YELLED FOR LIKE 5 MINUTES OKAY? THAT’S THE LOVE OF MY LIFE ATTEMPTING TO MURDER ME” seonho yelled loudly through the bus
luckily, everyone was quite chatty already so the attention wasn’t focused on seonho anymore
you rolled your eyes and lightly punched seonho’s shoulder
“and you tell me to sleep early,” you mentioned bitterly under your breath
“you would’ve forgotten too if i didn’t remind you yesterday,” seonho replied and messed up the top of your hair loosely
you cringed your forehead and began fixing it
seonho had small eye bags and obviously didn’t get enough sleep
you found yourself worrying a bit when you noticed his sleepiness
it definitely began to show mid-way into the bus ride when seonho’s head would tilt around heavily
you found it a bit cute that his lips would almost pout when he’s sleepy and tired
but it took you by surprised when his head suddenly landed on your shoulder and didn’t move away
his hand was just centimeters away from yours and you could almost feel a graze of his skin
when approaching the camp site, the sounds of people admiring how modern it was filled seonho’s ears, waking him up
he shot his head up in confusion and noticed the sight outside
thinking that you were asleep and he wasn’t(?), seonho aggressively tapped your shoulder telling you to wake up and look outside
“SEONHO I WAS ALWAYS AWAKE YOU’RE THE ONE THAT FELL ASLEEP” you yelled
seonho flinched and giggled like a child
a small smile appeared on your face although you rolled your eyes bitterly
there were multiple times you felt a spark when hanging out with seonho
and it was an obvious sign that you liked him but you thought very little of it, thinking that it didn’t mean much
in actuality, you knew you liked him a lot
hence now as an example
you sat down beside seonho at the campfire as he was placing his marshmallow onto the stick
“y/n, look there’s spark flying out of the fire here and there,” seonho joked before aggressively winking once again
you smiled and punched his shoulder with full force, causing seonho to wince in pain
seonho didn’t know that you felt sparks with him
he simply joked about it to get a reaction out of you ever since he first joked about it
“c’mon, give it a try,” he offered while hovering the stick towards you
when you politely declined, seonho helped himself and took your hand, placing it almost over his
the two of you were hovering a marshmallow over a small fire with your hand over seonho’s
you were surprised how seonho wouldn’t think of anything more of this, but then again
seonho’s seonho
“we’ll share the marshmallow!” he offered
“seonho, i can just get another stick and roast my own mar-”
“nOT ANYMORE WE’RE ALREADY ROASTING THIS ONE TOGETHER” seonho blurted and coughed a few times afterwards
“it’s like we’re watching a child grow and you just want to walk away from this,” seonho said, sarcastically sniffing a few times
you couldn’t help but give in with a smile
“alright seonho, we’ll share the marshmallow” you replied softly
since seonho wanted to share marshmallows, he refused for you to have a singular marshmallow on your own
the both of you would roast one and then he’d split it in half
there were so many sparks flying inside your stomach and that just wasn’t the heat from the marshmallows you ate
but you could definitely feel the sparks die down when seonho was getting a tad bit too hyper off of marshmallows
“do you think if we insulted the marshmallows, they’d cook faster?”
“what do you-” you sharply stopped yourself from finishing your sentence when you got his joke
roasting marshmallows
get it?
...roasting?
“seonho you’re such a dork-”
“DARN YOU MARSHMALLOW WHY IS YOUR SKIN PALER THAN MINE?” seonho barked at the marshmallow
his eyes gawked when the marshmallow began to cook quicker
when in actuality, you were lowering the stick closer towards the fire quite a bit
“y/n! see it’s working!” he exclaimed happily, making you smile
there was a awkward silence between
that silence carried on after the marshmallow was roasted and seonho had ripped it apart into two pieces
the sounds of the other groups laughing while playing midnight soccer together was heard faintly in the back
“hey seonho,” you spoke shyly
you could feel heat rise to your cheeks and fireworks of different colors exploding inside you
you never understood why seonho made you feel sparks all the time but it was a feeling you never bothered to complain about
“hm?” he hummed while turning to face you
though you had a sentence in mind to way, you realized you completely forgot it when his eyes met yours
to add on to your shock, he cutely tucked a strand of hair behind your hair and softly smiled
“is it just me, or do you feel sparks whenever we’re together too?” he confessed

Secret Angel
Guanlin x Female reader, school! au  ❄
Genre: Fluff
Word Count: 1.7K
Summary: A certain someone sends you mysterious notes, which leads to a sweet confession.
Tumblr media
Monday
"What the..."
As you entered the classroom, the note on your desk immediately caught your eye. You set down your schoolbag and picked it up, seeing these words written on it:
Did you have a good weekend? Have some candy, it'll lift your spirits to face the day ahead :)
Your Secret Angel
You widened your eyes as you read the note. Beneath it was a packet of chocolate. Who would write something like this? You weren't popular and you'd never had any admirers. To suddenly receive something like this almost felt like a prank. Unless you were overthinking this, and it was simply a friendly gesture.
The handwriting was unidentifiable. It must've been someone in the same class, as you had only transferred here for a few months and have rarely talked to other people in your grade.
You scanned the classroom, evaluating each student. The person who wrote this must be someone who comes to school early, as you arrive before the gates open every day. Do they have practice in the morning? You wondered. Or did they purposely come earlier to leave the note here? You heaved out a sigh of frustration.
"Y/N!" Your best friend called. "Let's go down to the basketball court. I have to cram for the test and I study better with fresh air."
You rolled your eyes, knowing her true intention. She was always ranting about how hot the basketball players were. She had especially developed an interest in a boy named Seonho.
Reluctantly, you followed her down to the basketball court and sat on the bleachers. The boys on the basketball team regularly came here to practice, and today was no different.
Y/F/N laid her textbook on her knees and started reading, but her eyes flicked up now and then to check out the players. Her eyes trailed Seonho as he ran up to the hoop and scored, earning cheers from his teammates. You watched her face break into a smile.
"Why don't you just ask him out? You've had a crush on him for months." You said.
"That's rich, coming from someone who's still in denial about her feelings for Guanlin."
"I don't have feelings for him. I just admire him for his talent and work ethic. I'm pretty sure everyone looks up to him in some way."
"Yeah, yeah," she scoffed. "And I'm sure you've never noticed the way he looks at you like you're the light of his world."
A chorus of boos caught your attention. You looked out at the basketball court to see that Guanlin had missed a throw, and his teammates were jeering at him. For a second, you thought he had glanced at you. His teammates noticed you, and they started chuckling.
Y/F/N slapped your arm and wiggled her eyebrows. You sighed. Forget it, it's never gonna happen between us.
Wednesday
You were sitting in Biology, daydreaming while the teacher droned on about whatever she was talking about. Your right hand cradled the hot pack in your pocket, which you had received along with a note after your lunch break.
It's getting cold. Keep yourself warm and take care of your health :)
Your Secret Angel
You turned the words over and over in your head. Who would write this stuff? You couldn't understand why anyone would even want to write these things to you.
"Now, turn to the person next to you and discuss those questions I just talked about." The teacher's voice snapped you to attention. The person... next to me? You turned your head to the right and saw Guanlin staring back at you with a shocked look, his cheeks tinted pink. You couldn't help but notice how pretty his doe eyes were.
"Uh... I wasn't paying attention." He looked down at the floor, rubbing the back of his neck with an embarrassed smile.
"Me neither." You returned the smile nervously. He scooted his chair closer to you and peered down at your textbook to study the questions. You tried to train your eyes on the words, but your mind couldn't focus as you felt Guanlin's body heat next to you and his warm breath on your face. Your fingers trembled as you nervously tucked your hair behind your ear.
"So, um, for question one, I think it's because the molecules are too large to pass through the pores, so they can't diffuse through the cell membrane." As he spoke, you couldn't help watching his lips moving, his long lashes as he blinked, and noticing the cute moles on his face that you had never noticed before.
At that moment, he looked up at you, his eyes staring into yours. Your breath hitched and your heartbeat thumped harder in your chest.
"Uh, y-yeah, I totally agree with you." You stuttered. He smiled his signature gummy smile.
"You weren't paying attention, were you? I daydream a lot, too." Your heart fluttered, a smile spreading on your face. He relates to me. In a split second, you returned to your senses, and tried to shake the thought out of your head. That means nothing. Just because he daydreams doesn't constitute as a reason to believe we're soulmates.
The teacher's voice rang through the classroom once again. "Alright, class. The person next to you will remain your lab partner for the duration of the school year, so get to know them, settle some arguments, whatever you have to do to get along."
Delight filled your mind, followed by a flash of panic. Guanlin ripped out a piece of paper from his notebook and scribbled something on it. Then he handed it to you, and you realized it was his phone number.
"You know, so we can discuss experiment observations and stuff." He shrugged and smiled, his face turning red. You took it with trembling hands, almost dropping it. You nodded, and his eyes pierced yours.
The bell rang.
Friday
A jumble of thoughts crossed your mind as you went up the stairs to the roof.
Dear Y/N,
I really like you. Can you meet me on the roof after school?
Your Secret Angel
You had been frozen to the spot when you first read the note. For one, you had been surprised anyone would like you at all. Secondly, you didn't know how to respond to the person. You didn't want to hurt their feelings by rejecting them.
Of course, you didn't want to exclude the possibility that the person was Guanlin. But that was practically a 0.0001% chance. He was way too cool and popular to have a crush on you, and you didn't want to get your hopes up and end up disappointing yourself.
You opened the doors to the roof and a blast of icy wind hit your face. You pulled your scarf tighter around your neck. As your eyes adjusted to the light, you noticed a tall figure standing at the far side of the railing. He didn't need to turn around for you to realize who it was.
"G-Guanlin?!"
He looked over his shoulder and, seeing you, immediately turned to face you, his cheeks turning pink.
"Ah, Y/N-ah."
He rubbed the back of his neck, looking down at the floor. Surprisingly, he was in his school uniform instead of basketball clothes. According to your memory, he hadn't worn the uniform to school since orientation day.
"Um, sorry, I'm supposed to be meeting someone here. Are you... supposed to be here?"
For a second, confusion flashed across his face, followed by embarrassment.
"Uh... that would be me. I mean, I'm the one you're meeting. I wrote those notes." He smiled nervously.
You froze. He must be kidding. The one and only Lai Guanlin? This was too good to be true.
You must have remained speechless for too long, which worried him. "Uh, I mean, I'm not pressuring you to go out with me or anything. I can understand if you don't like me back, b-but I just wanted to express my feelings. Ah..." he started looking down at the ground and rubbing his neck again. You stared at your hands, twiddling your thumbs.
"This is a joke, right?"
He stared at you blankly.
"Why would I lie to you?" He seemed genuine, which hurt your heart even more.
"I'm sorry." You said quietly. "I-I can't go out with you."
Guanlin nodded, his expression blank. It was difficult to tell what he was feeling from the way his eyes were hooded.
"You're the kind of guy who could get a hundred dates a week if you asked for it," you continued, "and I've never even held a guy's hand."
His eyes snapped up at you, something shifting in them.
"That's what this is about?" He asked quietly. "Well, do you have feelings for me?"
You nodded, staring at your feet. He crossed over to you in three strides, taking your hands in both of his. Your skin felt ablaze where he touched.
"Then what does it matter? You're the sweetest, smartest, prettiest girl I've ever met. Status and experience, they mean nothing. It just means that you're an undiscovered gem. And that's good," he muttered under his breath," because I only want you all to myself." His face was inches away from yours, his warm breath tickling your skin. His eyes were hooded, looking down at you with such care in his eyes that you couldn't restrain yourself from leaning up to kiss him.
His lips were warm and soft against yours. He was taken aback at first, but then you felt pressure against your lips. You could smell his cologne, woody and citrus-y. He squeezed your hands, and you smiled into the kiss, his own lips breaking out into his signature gummy smile.
Your lips broke apart, both panting for air. You stared into each other's eyes, your foreheads pressed together.
"I can see why you call yourself my angel," you muttered. He laughed, holding you against his chest and stroking your hair, his warmth sheltering you from the harsh wind of mid-December.

resurrecting this series so yAY! long after Halloween but I wrote this before Halloween and it’s still Autumn so…..technically…. thank you for requesting this anon! 💖
- Admin L
“Are you sure you really, REALLY, can’t come? Please?” You begged, perching on the edge of your best friend’s bed, all dressed up in your Halloween costume. It was unusual for you to be so adamant about something, especially when it compromised on your friends’ health. Your actions sickened you to your stomach but the desperation was overpowering it. Yoo Seonho brushed his ruffed up hair out of his eyes, he was wrapped up in about twenty blankets yet he was still shivering - the fever was really eating him alive. His tired eyes met your own and you knew your answer. “I’m sorry Y/N. I’ll have to miss,” he croaked, throat sore from all the coughing. You nodded understandingly, sighing at your own stupidity. Seonho was already so sick yet you were being so insistent. The guilt washed over you like the way models washed their faces in facial cleansing commercials. “I’m sorry,” you apologised with sincerity. “I shouldn’t have pressured you so much.” Luckily, your best friend was a kind and forgiving type of guy. He brushed it off with a wave of his weak arm while muttering, “I know I know. You must feel outcasted now. I’m sorry about that. Never worry, my sickness will clear in a few days.” “How did you even get sick? I thought the supernatural never succumb to ‘minor illnesses you mortals suffer from’?” You teased, clasping his hand and running your thumb over it calmingly. Seonho was a vampire. A young vampire to be more specific. He was part of the 101, and a vampire who held a high rank and command despite being a juvenile - it scared some elders at times, really. Growing up with him, you had no qualms hanging out with a supernatural. In fact, you enjoyed basking in his presence more than some other humans. He kept you safe, cared for you and always made you feel warm. There were bound to be times when his powers were much more prominent. Like when a couple of families went on a ‘neighbourhood trip’ to the beach and he was the only kid sweating in his hoodie. At the time, he was too young to take potions of any sort, unlike his family who blended in like any other mortal. Regardless, you loved your best friend to death and beyond. Back to the present, you glanced at the clock and groaned when it read 6.26pm, it was nearly time for you to go. “Hey,” Seonho said, forcing a smile and showing off his gleaming fangs. “I guess some of us vampires do get affected but I’m sure this is something more -“ he paused to let out coughs. You quickly brought a glass of warm water sitting on his bedside table to his lips. “Thanks. Don’t worry bestie, I’ll be fine but I have to miss W1’s party, I’m sorry. You go have fun, okay? I’ll make sure my hyungs take good care of you.” Inhaling deeply, you let go of Seonho’s hand and stepped away from his bed. “Oh! By the way, I left your care pack over here.” You gestured to the bag that was packed with a pot of homemade soup, a bunch of cute sticky-notes which you hand wrote cute messages and you could never forget the packs of plasma juice in there. You did attempt to head to The Middleman - a popular blood bank among 101 members - but it was just too nauseating for a mere human, even if you grew up surrounded by vampires. Your ears picked up the sounds of the doorbell and the voice of a few people, mellow and low. “I’ll see you soon, Y/N. That must be Kenta hyung and Sanggyun hyung. My chick costume can wait another year,” Seonho whispered before his eyes fluttered shut. “Rest well. I’ll be back.”
Takada Kenta and Kim Sanggyun seemed to be cheerful, lively friends of Seonho. You learned were in a subunit of 101 called JBJ, comprising of six members, the seventh was in discussion. “So, Y/N, what’s your costume for tonight?” Sanggyun asked, giving you a once over. He seemed to be dressed as…well, a stereotypical vampire, the kind you would see in movies Completed with a necktie and even dyed hair, your look for the night was inspired by BTS’ V from ‘Boy In Luv’. It was not the most obvious look though. Donghan scoffed teasingly. “Can’t you see. I’m sure it’s BTS Boy In Luv music video concept kind of thing,” he said, fanboy instincts kicking in. Donghan seemed to be rocking a half-face themed costume, there was a part of his face made up to look like muscular tissues. Hyunbin, who was seated in the front seat of the car looked up from his phone sulkily. “Donghan stole my costume idea.” “Yeah, you’re dressed as Joker and Taehyun hyung is Batman, be grateful. Uh, Yongguk is…a cat,” Kenta spoke up. “I guess I’m back to Teentop’s fanboy.” Kim Yongguk rearranged his cat ears hairband, frowning slightly. “Hyung, you never changed.” “Yah, guys, did you hear? Lai Guanlin flew in from Taiwan just for this party. I’m excited to see him again,” Noh Taehyun mentioned, turning the car around a corner and stopping outside a huge house. Correction: a mansion. 101 headquarters were no joke, you gaped in awe of the building that was filling up with guests and bursting with life. “Wanna One, the highest ranked members and pretty much the ones that get our shit together live here,” Hyunbin stated, sipping from a box of plasma fruit juice. “Take care of Y/N, guys. We need to look out for them.” “Lai Guanlin’s back, I’m sure everyone must be rejoicing. I need to get my Supreme hoodie back from him,” Sanggyun piped up, tossing his plasma juice box into the trash can as the seven of you stepped into the driveway. Lai Guanlin? “Oh! Y/N, Guanlin performed Boy In Luv at his high school showcase in Taiwan. He would know your costume for sure.” Yongguk led the way to the main door, pushing it open. You gulped, feeling the beads of sweat already starting to form in eagerness to meet whoever your new friends were talking about, partially the anxiety of entering your first Halloween party without Seonho.
Lai Guanlin was not someone to blend into the crowd and his own party was no exception. He stuck out from the sea of faces like a model, like a handsome prince among common folk. He was the youngest of the Wanna One clique, however, he was definitely not one you would want to overlook. Guanlin looked menacing, eyes burning with flames deep within but in reality, he was probably one of the nicest vampires to ever live. Also one of the most powerful. It radiated from him, he was surrounded by an aura that made you want to hang your head, it was just too domineering. You tried to smile as you greeted him, just like the JBJ vamps, but they were his friends and you were a complete stranger. Better still, there was no vampire genetics coursing through your veins. Great, you thought anxiously. I stick out like a sore thumb. “Guanlin, please introduce yourself to new guests too,” Jisung instructed in a caring, motherly tone. His costume looked like an official Superman outfit he probably spent an arm and leg on. Guanlin held out a hand for you to shake, showing off his polished fangs and blood-red lips. “Hello, I’m Guanlin.” The deepness of his raspy voice sent shivers down your spine. Despite how scary he seemed, the fire that lined his eyes was one that only aimed to provide warmth on a cold day. You wanted to hold onto his soft palms forever even if they read a temperature much lower than your own - though, you had gotten used to the colder skin after the many years of clinging onto Seonho - and even if his longer, sharper nails did dig into your thin skin a little. Speaking of thin skin, Guanlin’s heightened sense of smell plucked out your scent from the hundreds of different fragrances, meaning he could also identify the sweet blood of yours. It was a real pain to prevent his eyes from glowing lucid red. “Here,” Jihoon hissed, slipping him a packet of plasma fruit. “Control yourself.” Guanlin nodded, although it was hard to take his hyung seriously when Jihoon was dressed in a pink sausage costume. He was the one who decided the duo needed to take their friendship to the next level. Guanlin was unsure as to whether Woojin and Jihoon were strengthening their bond or tearing it apart. “We’ll see you guys around. I think I see Jonghyun hyung over there.” Hyunbin started in the direction of the older boy whom he was very fond of. The rest of his friends began to head the same way, spotting some of their friends. “Hey V,” Guanlin called out just before you followed your group. “I like your costume.” His lips curved into a smirk as he brought the straw of the juice box closer to them. They seemed plush and velvety, almost beckoning for you to kiss them. But under it’s welcoming exterior disguised a set of lethal fangs you knew you needed to watch out for.
Illuminated jack-o-lanterns lined the edge of the deserted balcony in a more quiet area of the Wanna One mansion. Chirps of crickets filled the silence, it sounded like a melody to you, to keep you in check, to make sure you were not drunk on soda. The whole evening, you had felt like extra baggage accompanying the boys, like an unneeded third-wheel. You introduced yourself to a handful of their friends but it was awkward being one of the only humans in that space. A human with few supernatural connections, unlike the rest. Sure, Kim Chungha and Choi Yoojung did their best to make you feel more welcomed but the fish out of the water feeling stuck to you like glue. So, finding the most believable excuse you could muster, you slipped off to the balcony to enjoy the night view peacefully, sipping ‘eyeball punch’ from your solo cup. Guess tonight really is a solo night. It’s so different without Seonho around. I hope he’s feeling better. Seonho was not the only person who plagued your mind in that moment, a Wanna One vampire by the name of Guanlin also occupied a significant amount of your thoughts. He was just so handsome, so charming, so intriguing. You desired to learn more about the mysterious vampire yet you were too afraid. Oh goodness, cue eye roll at your ridiculous thoughts. You were just sharing drinks with I.O.I vampires and you’re worried about others? Get yourself together, they’re all the same, no one can harm you. Autumn winds brushed by your sensitive skin, the cold cutting through even the fabric of your long sleeved button down. Yes, you were shuddering slightly but it was not enough to blow you back to the party scene. “The moon’s out tonight.” whatagoodconversationstarter A husky voice muttered, it’s owner moving to stand beside you, pressing his hands on the railings. Your heart began to beat faster, pumping more blood around your circulatory system - probably a bad idea around supernatural creatures. However, Guanlin was more in control than you thought, he had an array of powers mastered. “Um, yeah. It is,” your reply was barely audible to human ears but Guanlin heard your words crystal clear.  [ stan CLC you will never regret ] “You’re friends with Yoo Seonho, aren’t you?” He shifted in his spot, still looking up to the pitch black night sky. “Yeah, best friends.” You fought hard to keep your cool, ignoring the redness that filtered to your face and the irregular thumping of your heart. Guanlin let out a chuckle, bringing his cup to his lips for a sip of whatever his choice drink was. “Ahh, his heart is like a reed but we have a blood brother bond.” A smile appeared on your face just thinking about Seonho’s hobby of collecting hyungs. “I heard he’s targeting Hwang Minhyun now. He clings to me in school but right after, I know he’s bugging Minhyun,” you tell Guanlin and the two of you have a good laugh over it. After, a comforting silence fills the gap between both your figures. “Here,” Guanlin says as he shrugs off his suit jacket and drapes it over your shoulders. When you meet his eyes, mouth agape, he flushes pink. “I uh, noticed you were shivering quite a bit.” It was true. You could not tell if your face was coloured from the cold or if it was just you acting up around him. “No! Wouldn’t you be freezing?” You blurt out without giving it much thought. Your words elicit an amused laugh from the supernaturally handsome boy. “You’re so cute you know.” Ah yes, my embarrassment must be pretty freaking adorable. “Don’t worry about me. I thrive in the cold, it’s fine,” Guanlin assured, taking a step closer to you. “What’s your costume anyway?” His outfit was one that posed difficulty to decipher. It looked like he lived in suits, he should, he carried them well. “I’m dressed as Wooseok hyung from Pentagon,” he declared proudly, beaming like a true fanboy. “Why are you out here? The party is downstairs.” “Needed some air. It isn’t easy being one of the few without supernatural traits down there,” you revealed the simple reason. “Oh.” He took a step away from you, exhaling sharply while squeezing his eyes shut. “Sorry then.” “No! I-It’s fine! I’m okay!” You added urgently, a dreadful feeling bubbling in the pit of your stomach. “That’s not what I meant! I-I-“ To your surprise, the vampire just laughed and slipped closer, elbows nearly brushing. “I know, I know. It isn’t easy being around us but if you can put up with Seonho, I’m sure you can deal with me,” he joked, pointing out Seonho’s unquenchable thirst. “Oh come on, give him a break he’s just a child. But, he does finish an entire carton comprising of 24 boxes of plasma fruit juice whenever I’m around.” It was fun teasing your best friend with his blood bonded brother when he was absent. You just prayed he would not find out. Guanlin nearly doubled over in laughter, it was clearly his first time of hearing the extent of Seonho’s habits, they probably came as a shock as one box of plasma fruit juice was enough to keep a vampire full for at least a few hours “I don’t blame him though,” he mused, almost cautiously. You reached to tuck a stray lock of your hair behind your ear, exposing more of your prominent collarbones - again, probably a terrible idea in front of a creature that feasted on the substance flowing under your paper-thin skin. You did not realise Guanlin’s eyes starting to tint red, how he gripped the railing until his knuckles paled, or how he swallowed hard and tried not to allow his gaze to linger on your neck. He cleared his throat and took another swig of his drink. To him, you were a gift delivered right to his doorstep, especially with his jacket on you. You were sweet, funny and accepting, he was really drawn to you, as a person and not just because you had something he depended on for survival. Guanlin’s tongue swiped over his bottom lip, he was sick of plasma fruit juice but he would never drink from his friends. Besides, he liked the colour coordinated straws that blood bags from The Middleman came with. “Oh? Why don’t you?” Your honey-coated voice drew him out of whatever trance he was in. He hummed in response, changing his posture to lean his back against the railing such that your eyes had to lock. The vivid supernatural glow that bore into your eyes caused your breath to catch in your throat. “Because, sweetheart.” Every syllable that fell from his lips made butterflies roar to life inside of you. Sweetheart - such a loving term - was no exception. Additionally, there was no escaping his alluring scrutiny, redness underlying his orbs but you knew he had himself in check. “You,” he paused to draw closer, such that only your ears could hear his whispers. “are absolutely delicious.” With a smug smile tugging at his lips, Guanlin spun away, raising his glass for a toast before slipping back into the room. You were stunned that he left you so abruptly and so flustered, the feeling of his mouth pressed to your earlobes still very fresh. His pointy fangs hardly caressed them but they were very real, and very close to you indeed. It annoyed you that Guanlin had just disappeared like that but unbeknownst to you, if he stayed just a couple of seconds longer, you would have become his next snack. After that ‘incident’, that particular Pentagon fan was on your mind. You also really had to return his suit jacket, the material most likely cost your entire life savings. He wouldn’t have really bit me? Would he? Thoughts like those raced through your mind as you scoured the mansion for Guanlin. There was no way you were leaving the party without knowing if he would. You figured like any other vampire, instinct would probably overpower them and they would dip their fingers to have a taste, a nibble. Rumour has it that he has a lethal pair of fangs, one of the keenest. What if he actually did feed on me? Would it sting like hell? No worries though, if it was you, Guanlin would not hesitate if he got consent. He would bite, but for you, very gently, painless like a minuscule needle prick.

Shy Guy
Tumblr media
Pairing: Bae Jinyoung x Reader
Genre: flufffff
Summary/Extra: When your classmates with the cute, but mysterious Bae Jinyoung and you guys end up sitting next to each other. Requested scenario!! YASS I finally finished it! (i didn’t know what to make the title so it’s kinda irrelevant)
“Hello class. We are switching seats today.”
A series of groans spread throughout the room, one of them including you.
“Out of all my classes, this class talks the most and I have no idea why. I’ve had enough, so I made a seating chart. Now pack up your things and stand up to move to your new seat,” you teacher sighs in exasperation.
“I hope we still sit near each other,” you best friend whispers.
“Yeah. But honestly, I don’t care who I sit next to as long as it isn’t Yoo Seonho.”
You friend playfully slaps you. “He’s not that annoying, Y/N.”
“You just say that because you’ve had a crush on him since like...forever?” you chuckle as you see your friend blush and glare at you to shut up.
“Y/F/N and Yoo Seonho,” the teacher calls out. “Up here you two. And Seonho, I better not be hearing you the whole class period talking about Hwang Minhyun.”
“Aw…”
You give your friend a smile as she widens her eyes in both shock and joy.
She must be dying inside.
The teacher continues to call the students’ names to each of the seats and soon she’s on the last two students.
“Y/N and Bae Jinyoung.”
You had never really talked to Jinyoung before. He seemed intimidating and cold to everyone besides his friends. You had never seen him smile or laugh when he wasn’t surrounded by that whole group of rowdy boys. However, Jinyoung was kind and respectful to the teachers. He was never rude or had a reputation of being the type of kid you should stay away from. Instead, he was quiet and often helped other students when they were struggling.
Besides his cold persona, he was really good-looking. His dark brown eyes, light brown hair, small face, skinny, but lean body. Jinyoung was the person you would look at and say “he’s cute”.
When you walk over to the farthest seats from the front of the classroom, Jinyoung’s already sitting there, taking out his supplies for the lesson.
You plop down into the seat and take your things out as well.
The class period goes by without Jinyoung saying anything to you as well as you saying nothing to him. It’s awkward in simple words.
A few days pass and after a whole week, you’ve had enough of this silence and the awkwardness when the teacher forces the class to work on an assignment together.
“Hi Jinyoung!” you greet him, throwing him off. Both of you had never greeted one another in the morning and also never said “bye” when leaving.
Jinyoung barely nods and avoids eye contact. The rest of the class goes like the norm. Both of you only saying something when needed, but other than that, everything’s silent.
When the class ends, you don’t have the confidence to say a see you later or anything and you end up regretting it later.
The next day, you greet him again. The day after that, you greet him in the morning and get the confidence to say ‘see you tomorrow!’. Another week passes of you first initiating a greeting and frequently asking more and more questions to Jinyoung about the lesson, which he always manages to reply in one-word answers.
The week passes and one day, you enter late into the class.
Your first ever tardy.
If Jinyoung was honest, he suddenly became concerned of why you weren’t at school. He hadn’t received your chirpy ‘good morning’ or ‘hey jinyoung!’. The morning didn’t start off right.
When you had entered the classroom with your sweater half on, your shirt barely tucked into your jeans, and your hair tie struggling to keep your hair together, Jinyoung felt himself visibly relax.
“Sorry,” you mouth to the teacher and quickly head to your seat. “Hey Jinyoung.”
You didn’t expect him to say anything, since he never did, and proceeded to take out your textbook and turn to the lesson.
“Hey, Y/N….” Jinyoung mumbles.
You freeze and smile to yourself before continuing to unpack.
The next day, Jinyoung enters the classroom and when seeing you already sitting in your seat, a grin forms on his face.
“Hi, Y/N. You aren’t late today.”
He manages to put his poker face back on when you turn to him with a gaping mouth. Jinyoung clears his throat which brings you back into reality.
“Oh...Uh.. Sorry and yeah. Heh. I managed to sleep earlier than I did yesterday,” you tuck your hair behind your ears, nervously.
He said hi to me first!
You try to calm your excitement and take out your things with shaking hands when the teacher enters the class.
When the bell rings, signaling the end of class, you try to hurry and stuff your folder into your bursting backpack.
“See you later, Y/N,” Jinyoung quickly says before sprinting heading out the room.
You turn around to see Jinyoung already swallowed up in the crowds of students in the hallway and smile.
Progress was being made.
Every single day, Jinyoung greeted you first or greeted you back when you were the first one to greet him. As days went on, Jinyoung started to ask questions first. Then, he started to ask you about your other classes. And one day, the two of you were talking about how good the food was at the small bakery across the street from the school.
“We should go after the benchmark on Thursday!” Jinyoung had blurted out. “Uh-I mean...O-Only if you w-wanted to….You don’t.. Um…”
“I’d love to!”
After two months and a week passed from the seat change, you and Jinyoung were like childhood best friends. You didn’t know how or when the two of became so close. It had just clicked between the two of you.
As the two of you spent more time together, both in and outside of school, you started to develop a small crush on the boy. Him developing one on you.
“Y/N!” Jinyoung calls out.
“What’s up?” you turn around and greet him.
“Nothing. Just wanted to see you,” Jinyoung smirks while you feel the heat creeping up your face. It was odd these days. You weren’t sure if Jinyoung was purposely flirting with you or practicing on you because he liked someone else.
You jokingly scoff and push him away. “What’s with you these days?”
Jinyoung merely grins. “What do you mean? And oh by the way. I need help with Choi’s homework.”
“M’Kay. Wanna meet at the bakery?”
“Sure,” he nods. “I’ll see you there after school.”
You skip into the bakery that had started you and Jinyoung’s friendship. It was the first place the two of you went to together and that had used the spark of your friendship to create an actual fire.
“One mocha frappuccino,” you hum and glance at the pastries that sit behind the glass, waiting to be eaten. “And two slices of iced lemon pound cakes, please.”
“One mango smoothie too.”
You hear a familiar voice and you turn to see Jinyoung standing next to you.
“You’re here already? Who knew Bae Jinyoung would be so passionate about getting tutored in math?”
Jinyoung chuckles as he quickly hands the cashier the money before you could. “I can’t be late if you’re the one tutoring me.”
“Yah,” you slap his arm and shake your head as he smiles. “I’ll go find a seat.”
“Ah~ I’m finished!” Jinyoung stretches as he sips on his fourth cup of his smoothie.
“Finally,” you roll your eyes. “You took four hours on thirty-five problems.”
Jinyoung pouts and crosses his arms over his chest. “Hey… That’s three hours faster than Daehwi.”
You let out a laugh. “Yeah….Okay. He’s a year younger than you, but okay.”
Jinyoung sets down his drink and watches you put away your things, making you feel somewhat uncomfortable.
You suddenly stop and look up. “Why do you keep looking at me?”
Jinyoung shrugs. “Why not?”
You slam your hand down onto the wooden table, startling a few people who were still at the cafe until dinnertime and Jinyoung.
“Y-Y/N?” Jinyoung straightens.
“Yah, Bae Jinyoung. What is up with you? Is it fun playing with my feelings? It is amusing to watch me get flustered by everything you do? Tell me, Jinyoung. Why are you acting like this? Am I-”
You watch, almost in slow motion how Jinyoung suddenly leans over the table, his arms going to the sides of the table to steady himself, and you suddenly feel a soft, plush pair of lips firmly placed on yours.
You open and close your hands multiple times, not knowing what to do, but just as sudden the kiss had happened, it ended just as quickly.
You pause and stare at Jinyoung with the only thing in your eyes being your bewilderment and shock.
“Are you going to ask me what that was for too?” Jinyoung playfully smirks.
You stay silent and gape at him.
“I like you, Y/N,” he suddenly looks down, shyly. “I liked you since the day you started saying ‘hi’ to me.”
“W-Why didn’t you say anything?”
Jinyoung rolls his eyes. “You know you’re really oblivious?”
You give a tight-lipped smile. “Heh…. Really?”
Jinyoung nods and grins. “But it doesn’t matter anymore. Because now, you’re mine.”

•Your soulmate key was actually pretty chill, • On the back of your hand is the neon glowing lines of a compass, like a tattoo, moving to point in the direction your soulmate is, • There’s many stories of people packing a bag and just taking off and following the compass until they find their soulmate, • But you decided maybe you’d wait a while before you get desperate, • And soulmates are fate, you’d meet at some point anyway, right? • Yes; Yes you would, • All through growing up, your compass hardly moved at all, • You honestly thought it was broken and you’d forever be lonely, • Until you realised your soulmate probably just lived very far away, • You were salty for like 6 months, because it meant it’d be harder for you to find your Soulmate, • But then you realised- There’s no point in being salty at all, • And who are you being salty to? • Your soulmate had exactly the same problem, and you can’t really be mad at F A T E, • Although you tried, • But then it got you thinking, • If your soulmate lived far away, what if they spoke a different language? • That made you worry for around 2 months, but then you realised- • (This was the year of realising things btw), • There’s literally no point in worrying? If there’s a language barrier then there’s a language barrier; there’s nothing you can do about it at the moment? • So yeah you’re pretty chill about soulmates most of the time, • It’s honestly admirable because everyone freaks out about soulmates, • But boy do you get the fright of your life when your compass point moves overnight, • You wake up and contemplate whether you’ve been reading it wrong all of your life but no, it definitely used to always point south west, • But the fact it’s now pointing north is really kinda exciting, • So imagine your elation when it starts regularly moving, • It normally stays pointing northward but throughout the day it sways east and west, • Which only means one thing- Your soulmate is close by, • Gurl is ready to go soulmate hunting straight away but you hold back , • It may be a little scary to find a girl in her PJ’s out on the street telling you you’re their soulmate, • Personally though, you wouldn’t mind, • So although you don’t go searching out your soulmate, you’re a lot more aware, often tracing the neon colours of the compass with your fingers, • A habit that slowly becomes comforting, reminding yourself there will always be someone who loves you no matter what happens, • You get a job waiting tables at a cheap little restaurant in a quiet part of town, • Because no matter what people say money is happiness, • Because the restaurant is small everyone who works there is like a small family, • And because the restaurant is off the beaten track, the customers usually aren’t too bad, and you usually have your regulars where you know all about their kids and grand kids and jobs, • You’re writing down orders for the old couple that comes every other Monday, • your compass is hyper tonight, swaying this way and that, but the old man, DoJung, is telling you about his grandson who just got into Seoul National University and you can’t be rude, • So you listen to him talk with a smile, absent mindedly slowly tracing the compass, that is…way brighter than usual? • You’re not sure though because you’re a busy person with a bad memory, • But another couple of people wander through the doors and you have to tear yourself away, making sure to congratulate the elderly couple and finally deliver their order to the chef, • You grab your little notebook and scan the cozy seating area, • You weave your way around the tables like the damn expert you are to glide to a stop infront of the 2 new boys’ table, throwing on a smile despite the fact you’re actually very tired and your legs ache from standing for the last few hours, • You greet them happily, trying to make them comfortable enough to become regular customers because you have to admit, • They’re both Hella cute and having them become regulars might just lighten your day a little, • Seonho and Guanlin, your new targets, • In a non creepy way.  . . • They’re agile looking, and tired, (and slightly similar looking), which leads you to believe they’re trainees from the nearby company, • You’re asking what they’d like to drink when you catch sight of your hand, the compass spinning with passion, making your heart leap, • You know this is the sign your soulmate is near, • Or yanno, • Right infront of you, • Your eyes float down to the 2 boys infront of you, the shyer one staring at his hand, • You watch his identical neon compass spin uncontrollably as he watches with confusion, • “Huh” • People talk about an exhilarating feeling when you meet your soulmate, but you’re calm as you wrap your mind around the fact that it looks like this squish is apparently your squish, • You lay your hand next to where he’s staring at his, Guanlin, and watch as your compasses spin in time, as if in a synchronised dance, and smile at him when his eyes rise to meet yours, • Oh, the butterflies have finally come, • “Oh, There you are. I’ve been waiting for you,” • Seonho slides the hell out of there with the widest of grins and a slap to Guanlin’s back before disappearing, • Guanlin motions you to sit in the opposite with a shy smile and blushing cheeks and you’re sure the other waiters will understand, • I mean you’ve just met your soulmate what better excuse is there to bunk off work? • (I mean there’s death but), • Honestly, it’s a little awkward, as Guanlin’s still mastering Korean, and he seems a little shy and jumpy anyway, • But you’re generally calm, so in the time of need you pull through, • After a little while Guanlin seems to relax a bit as well, and you can’t help but feel so at home in his presence, as if you’ve always been together, • You catch him staring into your eyes and scanning your face but you’re doing exactly the same, • His eyes soften with every passing moment and you’re still wrapping your head around the fact that you’ve found him, • Or rather, that he walked straight into you, • Both of you are young, and slightly shy, so you take things slow and everything is so sweet, • You go on quiet dates whenever you can, wanting to spend every minute with each other, • (Guanlin is usually exhausted from being a trainee and simple dates suit you just fine, luckily entertainment companies are quite lenient with Soulmates), • When he first slips his hand into yours, slowly and unsure, you take his hand and squeeze it reassuringly, smiling up at him, • The first time you hug you’re suprised to feel him completely surround you in his warmth despite being a skinny noodle™ and  his sense of safety and peace is heart warming, • You’re the first to peck him, playfully on the top of his nose and although it’s small you both blush instantly, • When he first wraps his arm around your waist you grin and lean into him, comforted by the small action, • When you first cuddle, you’re both half asleep and half way through a film and your limbs tangle together like they where made to, his warmth feels like home and he just seems to soft, • Your first proper kiss is slow and unsure and jittery and awkward arms, but it seems magical to you, • And your second one is more sure and determined and passionate with hands running through hair and bodies pressed together, • You start to learn a little Chinese so Guanlin can feel a little less homesick and it feels as if you can get to know him from a different angle, • And boy the smile that spreads onto his face and the fierce hug he engulfs you in is everything, • His height is next level though, you never lose him in a crowd; it’s great, • When he introduces you to the guys he’s all shy and blushy and they all tease him and damn that’s your heart going Buh Boom because you’re causing him to become a blushing mess, • Not a load of PDA because shy beans but in private it’s always gentle touches and honestly you’re always there to comfort each other, • Because sometimes life is hard and there’s nothing you can do so whether it’s gentle words or, more often, just the comforting presence without the need for verbal reassurances, you’re there for each other with open arms and open hearts, • Honestly the two of you are all so slow and soft and squishy pls

unspokenly yours.
character: lai guanlin.
genre: fluff, a little bit of angst, demigod!au.
word count: 3404w.
summary: three times that you were there for guanlin and one time he was there for you. //
“listen. if you want to talk to him, just go talk to him,” daehwi says in a matter-of-fact tone as he forks a piece of pie into his mouth. you take a break from gazing at the new camp jupiter transferee to glaring at your younger half-brother, scowling at him before you pointedly set your fork down and stand up.
“fine. i will,” you say curtly, before making your way over to the boy decked in black clothing, sans the white t-shirt he donned underneath his black leather jacket. you slide in across from him, ignoring his stare.
“hey.” you don’t know if it’s a smart choice to approach the camp jupiter transferee who had already been claimed as hades’ son, but as a child of athena, your curiosity had overwhelmed you over the past two days.
“h-hi,” the boy stammers out. you introduce yourself with a smile, and you note that despite his cold exterior, he comes off as a shy boy rather than a cold city guy. you smile, carrying the conversation through its basics and letting it proceed from there.
before the campfire that night starts, you learn that guanlin is half-taiwanese from his mother and that he comes from the city. his best friend from camp jupiter is yoo seonho, a son of hebes, and guanlin was extremely saddened to have to leave his best friend. you learn that guanlin is not one of those people you judge via first impression, because he laughs like a dolphin and smiles– gums and all– at the lamest jokes and the smallest actions.
you both skip the campfire that night even though you tell him he should go with you, and trade in a night by the fire for a night at the dining hall underneath the fairy lights hung on the wooden structures. he promises he’ll go next time, when he’s comfortable.
he walks with you to your cabin that night, caught up in a conversation with you regarding which camp was weirder between camp jupiter or camp half-blood. camp half-blood wins after you tell him about all the pranks ong seongwoo has pulled and about how once, the quiet bae jinyoung, telekinetically threw a pumpkin at his head. guanlin lets out a dolphin-like laughter, that slowly dies down as you both reach your cabin.
he bids you an awkward good night paired with a bow as you enter your cabin with daehwi awaiting you on your shared bunk bed. he wiggles his eyebrows and you roll your eyes.
“your bed is up there, daehwi,” you say as you make a notion to the upper bunk, “not there.”
the first time you are ever there for guanlin is when you become the only one to put aside your first impression of him, effectively making you his first friend of many. //
the next time is when you and guanlin, accompanied by daniel, minhyun, and doyeon set off on a quest to retrieve the keys of hades for guanlin’s father. it’s been a long time since you and guanlin had wordlessly established the mutual feelings you had for each other, and there was some unspoken relationship between the two of you that no one– including you and guanlin– had bothered to question.
you and guanlin lag slightly behind daniel, minhyun, and doyeon, hands swinging dangerously close to each other in silence. minhyun looks back at the both of you occasionally, ensuring that you two are still behind them and with the group.
the silence, although not unwelcome, is difficult to call comfortable as the five of you venture the labyrinth in order to reach the middle in which the keys of hades had supposedly been hidden by the escaped soul that guanlin had sent back to the underworld to his father with much difficulty.
as the five of you continue to walk, you take a look at guanlin, taking in the sight of the cut on his cheek and the bruise on the corner of his lip. you fight the urge to graze your thumb over the darkened underneaths of his eyes that have accumulated over the past days on the quest,
as guanlin notices and meets your gaze, questioning in his expression, your eyes widen as blood begins to drip down his nose. immediately, your hand flies up to catch the blood by pressing against his nose as you call out for the group to stop.
“guanlin, your nose is bleeding again,” you murmur as the rest of the group approaches you, already handing you a bloodied handkerchief that had been used to dry guanlin’s bloody nose earlier. you hold the handkerchief up to guanlin’s nose before he takes it himself, your hands brushing together.
guanlin offers you all a weak gummy smile as you wipe his blood on the hem of your already soiled t-shirt, not bothering to speak since you all know it took a lot out of him to bring the demented soul back to the underworld.
“we’ll rest here,” daniel says as he sets down his backpack. “three hours, i’ll take first watch, minhyun takes second, and you take the last watch,” he says as he gestures to you. “the rest of you, get some rest. especially you, guanlin.”
guanlin opens his mouth to protest, only to receive a collective glare from the whole group excluding you. the boy sighs as he settles down and allows you to nurse his bleeding nose, following your instructions as you tell him to look downwards while you dab at his nose.
“you always take care of me,” guanlin says as he peers down at you with a smile.
“if i don’t, who else will, you big doof?” you chuckle as the blood flow from his nose slowly comes to a halt.
“what would i do without you?” he asks softly. your smile fades slightly as you recall the ever-present possibility of you dying on quests. choosing to ignore the concern, you flick his forehead lightly.
“good thing you’ll never have to worry about that, because i’ll always be by you.”
guanlin’s smile gets gummier, and little do you know, he’d go to the ends of earth and beyond to make sure you’d always be by his side. even if it meant pushing the laws of the godly world.
“go to sleep, doof,” you say as the bleeding finally stops, “i want you asleep these full three hours. you need it.”
he goes to sleep after you say that, and you go to sleep shortly after him, not too close, but never straying too far.
when minhyun wakes you up for your watching shift, you have to gently lift guanlin’s arm off your waist.
you’re not really surprised and neither is minhyun. you’re both used to it, but as per usual, neither of you say anything about it. you peck guanlin’s forehead as minhyun goes to sleep and you take watch. //
the third time is when guanlin refuses to come out of his cabin.
“it’s been four days since you guys got back on your quest and he hasn’t left his cabin ever since he arrived. he rushed you into the infirmary and after making sure you were alive, he walked out of here and into his cabin, and never walked out,” daehwi informs you.
you stare at the iron stygian ring that you had gifted him a long time ago that had been left at your infirmary’s bedside table. it glows a soft purple even as its shrouded in a yellow sunlight as you listen to daehwi’s words.
“is he eating?” you frown, immediately concerning yourself with his health. daehwi shrugs, a pout-like grimace gracing his innocent features. “he has to be eating somehow.”
you sigh, recalling your last duo mission with guanlin that you two had just returned from. it ended with guanlin having to carry you into camp half-blood after you completely mangled your leg from an attack guanlin had meant for your enemies.
he didn’t speak after he had saved you from falling into the earth as he had cracked the ground open, but you remembered him crying as you drifted off into unconsciousness from blood loss and you remembered him yelling as he entered the camp to get you help.
you remembered how he looked at you with tears in his eyes as you were brought into the infirmary, and you knew he blamed himself for your current condition.
with plenty of magic, sungwoon’s home remedies, and jaehwan’s healing singing, your leg was slowly healing with only a small scar predicted to be left on your thigh. you were set to leave for your own cabin that night before dinner.
before daehwi leaves to continue camp activities, you call out, “tell ong i’m going to need him later.” //
later that day when you’re released from the infirmary with a bandages wrapped around your thigh and a small pack of sungwoon’s natural painkillers in your hand, seongwoo is waiting for you by the door. he spins a ringlet of keys and pins on his pointer finger with a grin.
“are you going to ask me to pick the hades’ cabin lock for guanlin?”
“... yes, yes i am.”
he chuckles heartily, before throwing an arm around your shoulder and leading you out. “let’s get you some dinner first, and you can pick up some food for guanlin too, since god knows how he’s eating right now.”
you smile, somewhat bitterly, as seongwoo leads you to the dining table to grab food. you eat only a salad and some nectar for a drink, before you and seongwoo head over to hades’ cabin. you carry a box of pizza and a bottle of nectar in your hands– probably not the healthiest option, but pizza was guanlin’s favorite.
you knock first.
when there’s no answer, you threaten guanlin– “if you don’t open this door right now, i’m going to have ong pick the lock.”
when he doesn’t answer, you make way for seongwoo to pick the lock. he does, and he leaves you with a salute as you walk into the cabin and shut the door behind you.
“guanlin?” there are a few beds in the cabin, but guanlin remains the only occupant as he lays on his bed with his earphones plugged in. you know he hears you because one earplug is hanging out of his ear and he’s fiddling mindlessly with his ipod.
“i brought pizza,” you say as you set the pizza and nectar down at the foot of the bed on the floor.
“why are you here?” he mumbles as you sit yourself on the floor beside his bed, which hangs low from the floor.
“because you saved me,” you reply, recalling how you had screamed his name and how he had immediately run to you and pulled you out of the crack in the ground.
he turns to lie on his back, refusing to look at you. you see his adam’s apple bob up and down as he swallows his emotions. “i wouldn’t have had to save you if i wasn’t stupid enough to make that move in the first place.”
“love, look at me.” the occasion in which you call him love is rare– often a slip of the tongue– but every time you say it, you mean it. after a moment of silence, guanlin turns to look at you and you slip your hand into his. “if you hadn’t made that move, both of us would be dead.”
“but i made that move and you almost died.”
“guanlin–”
“i’d rather have myself die than have you die.”
“don’t say that, you know i don–”
“why do you love me?”
you bite your tongue.
the acknowledgment of your feelings for each other had always been silent and unspoken, not just by the both of you, but by everyone around you. but now, guanlin was bringing everything to light. you had never told him you loved him and he had never told you he loved you– you both went with the flow of the relationship and it was a given that you two were something, but you couldn’t claim him your boyfriend or vice versa. anyone was free to go after you or guanlin, but they chose not to, because they knew anyway.
“do you know how much destruction i can cause with the snap of a finger?” guanlin asks, eyes quivering as his stare bores into your soul. “do you know that i could send a soul to the underworld whether they deserve it or not with minimal consequences? do you know how many of my companions’ auras i’ve watched slowly fade as they dide? or sometimes the auras don’t even fade– one moment they’re there and the next moment they’re not.” he yanks his hand away from yours.
“i didn’t want to hurt you, but i did. i did, and i almost got you killed. i’m a monster, i’m a child of hades, the god of the underworld and the dead. how could you call me 'love’? nonetheless, how could you love me? how can you even look at me?”
you take a deep breath.
“i love you because even if you can make the earth shatter with the snap of a finger, you don’t. i love you because even if you could send a soul to the underworld, you never would, even if they did deserve it. i love you because no matter how many life auras you’ve watched fade, you’re still here. i love you because you being a child of hades doesn’t define you. hades isn’t a horrible person– he just got the worse end of the stick between the siblings. and you’re not a horrible person either, guanlin.” the boy’s eyes quiver as they begin to shine with tears.
“i love you, because you’re the purest person i’ve ever met and everyday your laugh rings in my ears and i wake up looking forward to seeing your smile.” you inhale, again. “i love you, and nothing could stop me from doing so.”
“i’m sorry,” he says, “i’m sorry.” he throws his arms around you and buries his face into the crook of your neck, mumbling out a long string of sorries.
when his tears have dried out and when his voice is hoarse from sobbing, he sits down at the edge of the bed and makes room for you, offering you one of his earbuds.
with the playlist he had secretly made for you playing softly in your left ear and the distant cheers from the campfire reaching your right ear, you intertwine your hands together and sit in the comfortable silence.
you leave that night as curfew approaches, but not before placing a soft kiss on guanlin’s forehead, reminding him that breakfast is tomorrow at eight am.
after that, you call guanlin ‘love’ more and he calls you ‘baby,’ and from time to time he tells you he loves you behind the closed door of the hades cabin, but still, you do not call him your boyfriend and he does not call you his lover. //
months have passed and there are some days that go by with you missing guanlin as he goes on his solo quests and some days that go by with guanlin missing you as you go on yours.
today is one of those days that go by with you missing guanlin and worrying over him. it’s been four days since he’s gone on a quest to the underworld, and although you know that the underworld is his territory as much as it is his father’s, worry still resides in your heart.
as you nail a javelin into the center of a target, you pick up some voices.
“dude, this is your chance while guanlin is gone.”
“are you kidding me? they’re practically together anyway, and god knows what that guanlin kid is going to do if he finds out i tried to get at them.”
their voices get louder as you go to retrieve your javelin from the target, your blood slowly boiling at the words they spoke.
“what did they see in guanlin anyway? the guy’s a freak. there’s probably a reason he had to transfer from jupiter to half-blood, maybe he participated in some black magic or shit. or even worse, maybe he sent someone to the underworld?” the second voice speaks up again, laughing loudly.
“you know what, you’re right. going after them would be a bad idea. zeus knows where you’d end up if you tried to hit that. i’d love to see guanlin banished from camp half-blood, but i don’t think you’d like the underworld that much,” the first voice snorts.
your knuckles turn white as you yank your javelin out of its target and without thinking, you throw the javelin straight in-between the owners of the voices.
the eyes turn to you as the two boys loudly curse in surprise, and out of the corner of your eye, you see jisung moving to stop you. seongwoo holds him back, although his stature is tense as well.
“what did you say about guanlin?” you prompt, taking another javelin that you had thrown into your target and stabbing it into the floor in front of you.
the second boy swallows heavily, but the first boy takes a step towards you. your right hand’s grip on your javelin tightens and your nails dig into your left palm as you seethe.
“we said, that your boy is a freak of nature,” he snickers, “and maybe you are too, now that i think about it.”
“if he’s a freak of nature, we might as well all be,” you coldly proclaim, lifting the javelin. “we’re all children of mythological beings and ninety percent of the population don’t even think we exist, you headass.” you twirl the javelin with ease between your fingers, preparing to throw it.
“let’s see if you still have the guts to talk shit when you have a stygian iron javelin point protruding from your fucking guts.”
the first boy steps back as if it’ll ease the situation at all as you take aim, but just as you’re about to swing your arm, slender fingers wrap themselves around the javelin. guanlin’s strength, although you are blessed with the strength of athena, overpowers yours and prevents you from making the final move.
“it’s not worth it,” guanlin quietly speaks into your ear as he glares at the two boys. he makes a notion with his chin telling them to get the hell away, and they do, not even bothering to extract their clumsily aimed javelins from their targets.
“but they we–”
“i know, but they’re not worth it,” guanlin says as he chuckles. “they can’t even aim a javelin properly, and isn’t that one kid who stood at the back zeus’ kid?”
your anger subsides at the sound of guanlin’s chuckle, and somewhere in the background, seongwoo and jisung sigh a sigh of relief.
guanlin ruffles your hair roughly, a gummy smile on his lips. “i don’t really care what they say. it’s funny that they’re afraid of me.” a boyish giggle escapes his lips, and you swat at his bicep, only to wince at the pressure applied to the crescent-shaped wounds on your palm.
“jeez, you really need to control your anger sometimes, you know?” he takes your left palm into his right and a shadow shrouds your joined hands before he lets go and rubs his thumb over the healed skin. “i can’t always be here to stop you from throwing a javelin or stabbing a sword into someone’s foot.”
“if you weren’t so smart, i’d think you were ares’ kid instead of athena’s,” guanlin jokes. you wonder when he stopped caring about the rumors that spread across the camp about him, and little do you know that he stopped caring after you had assured him of his humanity that night in his cabin.
“your boy can handle himself,” he chuckles, and you wonder how he’s one year younger than you sometimes.
“my boy?” you stifle the grin that threatens to pull at the corner of your lips as guanlin pulls you into his chest with his arms tightly around you.
“yeah, your boy. your boyfriend.”
(in the background, seongwoo yells out a ‘finally!” and daehwi receives ten gold coins from the rest of your half-siblings in the athena cabin.)

lai guan lin classmate au pls!!
- lai guanlin is the type of student who sleeps in class, but still manages to get amazing grades- he never knows what’s going on and he’s super late to reactions, but it’s a nice quirk of his and everyone finds it really charming- plus he’s really handsome too, a bunch of people have a bit of a crush on him, but he has no clue LOL- his best friend is yoo seonho, and they’re polar opposites which makes their friendship ten times cuter than it already is- they’re always seen together, never one without the other, an actual package deal- unfortunately, they’ve been separated and put into two different classes, so now guanlin just keeps to himself- you’re in the same class as guanlin and you sit next to him, but you’ve never really spoken to him before- he prefers to be by himself most of the time, and you’re a bit too shy to talk to him……- he only ever talks to the same like ten guys so you didn’t think there was that much room for you- one day, he comes to class soaking wet and you think that it’s crazy he wouldn’t have an umbrella because it’s raining really hard outside- you want to ask him, but before you could even gather up the courage to talk to him, your teacher enters the class and tells everyone to quiet down so that they can start the course- you direct your attention to the teacher and listen attentively throughout the day, but you also can’t help but feel a bit worried that guanlin might get sick because of the rain- the day goes by in a blur, and guanlin gets up as soon as the teacher says that class is over- he dashes out of class, and you’re just left thinking that he probably has somewhere important to be- you pack up all your things and walk outside to see that it’s still raining, so you take out your umbrella and walk down the same path you do every day- you have to walk through a bike path on your way home, and in the distance, you can see a figure crouched down- when you get closer, you realize that it’s guanlin, and he’s getting soaked by the rain again, but he doesn’t seem to mind- because all his attention is on the kitten he’s petting- you stay quiet as you observe the scene, and you can see a black umbrella on the ground, shielding the kitten from the cold rain while it eats what you assume are crackers guanlin brought for it- you think “that must be guanlin’s umbrella….” but you don’t realize that you said that out loud because he looks up at you and makes a confused face- your face burns when his eyes land on you, and you say “o-oh, uh, hi!! i was just….. on my way home…… don’t mind me…..”- quiet as he is, guanlin just shrugs and continues petting the kitten- you awkwardly walk past him, but you find yourself looking over your shoulder to check on him one last time- you see guanlin sneeze into his arm, and that’s enough to make you stop in your tracks- you’ve never really spoken to him before so it might be a bit weird to him….. but you can’t bring yourself to just leave when it’s raining this much- you walk back to where guanlin is and hold your umbrella over both of you, and you ask “that…. must be your umbrella, right? is that why you came to class soaking wet this morning?” as you gesture towards the one lying on the ground- guanlin says “yeah…. i couldn’t just let them get soaked by the rain, you know?” and you nod your head and think….. wow, he is so soft…..- you crouch down next to guanlin and watch him pet the kitten who purrs under his touch- you smile as you watch his fingers gently run through its fur when guanlin suddenly asks “do you want to pet them too?” and you nod your head and reach out a hand to pet it- after spending a bit of time there petting the kitten with guanlin, you realize that your parents are probably wondering where you are right now- you say “guanlin, i’m going to go first, okay?” and he says “oh, alright, see you tomorrow”- you hold out your umbrella to him and say “here, take this home with you. you’ve been soaked by the rain enough” and he says “oh no, i’ll be fine. but thanks anyway”- but you push the umbrella closer to him and say “no, you’re going to get sick at this rate. my house isn’t far, so i’ll be fine.”- with a nod, guanlin slowly takes the umbrella and says “thank you.”- you get up on your feet and shield yourself with your backpack as you run off in the direction of your house- guanlin watches you go and….. he can’t help but smile at your retreating figure while holding on tightly to the umbrella you lent him- the next day, you come to class to see your umbrella sitting on top of your desk, while guanlin is sitting in his seat with his face buried in his arms probably napping as usual- but the second you take your seat, guanlin says “thank you…. for your umbrella”- you turn to see guanlin looking at you with a hint of a smile on his lips and you grin “it’s no problem”- he then continues “if you’re not busy later on…… do you want to come see the kitten again with me after school? i brought my umbrella this time.”- you smile “i’d love to.”
thank you for your request!!

warnings: lovemaking! (for real this time), tragic, asylum, Daniel’s fucking perspective, he’s so in love with you that he becomes the most broken character in the series, depressing, too emotional for any fan, expect flashbacks, longer than what you think, past two years before the incident.
Daniel observed his friends talking and laughing inside their headquarters like it was a normal day–but it wasn’t. However, he smiled at the boys drinking, the others trying to impress his cousin, and the picture of you hidden inside his wallet. Finally, he stood up and went to his room to pack a few things such as a bag of sweets, an album, and one of your favorite CD’s.
“Where’s he heading to?” Jaehwan asked Seongwoo whilst pointing at Daniel carrying a bag. He heard this of course, but the question wasn’t of value to him.
Seongwoo then answered, “Probably going to steal more cats.”
Daniel halted when he realized his best friend was clueless of who you were. But his cousin was able to provide the correct answer to Jaehwan’s question, “He’s visiting his lover.”
“Lover? That man actually knows how to love?” Jisung questioned after question.
Daniel left the building before he got to hear the rest of the story; he hopped into his automobile, placing the bag next to him remembering what you used to say, “When I’m not around, put a cat, a bag, or a teddy bear on the passenger’s seat so you won’t feel so lonely.”
“What’s she like?” Seonho inquired. The female described every little detail of Daniel’s half to everyone since they were all curious to know and all ears for it, “She used to be beautiful, not only of appearance–but also of her personality; strong willed, witty, and confident. However, Daniel broke her when she found out who murdered her brother years ago.”
The bartender paused for a bit before continuing, “Now, she’s held captive in asylum, and it fucked Daniel up. You may see him smile almost everyday, but he’s never really happy. It’s sad to believe that whatever he loved–he ended up destroying. It kills him in an extremely slow pace like being tortured on repeat.”
Daniel went inside your room seeing you sound asleep on the bed. He placed his bag onto the floor before climbing the bed to lie next to you. He wrapped his arm around your body as you shifted closer to his warmth on instinct.
You turned around facing him which made his chest jump and his breathing uneven. You looked healthier than before, he thought. A memory came across his mind as you wrapped your arms around his fragile body, your heartbeat steady against his harsh one.
He averted his attention to you leaning against the wall of his club. You felt someone’s eyes pierce into your skin, so you looked up at him. He smiled at you before you returned the favor then putting all your focus back to your phone.
Daniel walked closer to you until he was only a meter away from you. Yet you were the first one to break the silence, “I’m not selling my body, if you’re wondering.”
He shoved his hands inside the pockets of his pants replying, “I wasn’t intending to ask or do that. However, I did want to ask why you’re waiting outside.”
“I don’t do clubbing.” You answered frankly. Daniel was captivated by you that midnight; he knew both of you hardly knew each other, though he still leaned in to kiss you as you allowed him to.
You opened your eyes slowly, readjusting to the light coming from your window till Daniel’s soft features came to a clear view. You wondered if it was a dream where Daniel was just yours and that he wasn’t a mafia at all. You caressed his cheek as you remembered the day he showed up in front of your house.
“We need to go,” Daniel said. He tried to grab your hand and lead you towards his car, but you kept your ground. You interrogated him, “What are you trying to hide from me?”
Daniel ran his fingers through his hair before he responded, “Trust me, they’re going to torture you and I may never forgive myself if I hand you easily over to them.”
“I can’t trust you, if you don’t tell me.” You told him as your eyes scanned his own. A feeling of remorse flooded him when he hit you with the truth, “I’m Kang Daniel, the heir of 101, and I can’t lose you too.”
Your eyebrows furrowed at him as he pulled you to his car. He panicked when you rested your hand on top of his and said, “Let me take the wheel.”
Daniel nodded his head slowly at you before switching seats; he heard from his cousin once that there was a faster drifter than Sungwoon before he entered, it never came to mind that it would be you.
As the cars sprinted towards your own, you pulled on the gear shift before you kicked on the pedal and moved backwards. Daniel held onto the door of his car as his eyes were on the road before him. You, on the other hand, did a reverse drift before pressing harder on the accelerator.
It was twilight, so not many people were on the streets. You took this opportunity to max the speed of your car before one of those vehicles tried to block your way, rather than slowing down or turning back, you sped up even more to hit the car and flip it over.
You backed away turning to your right and cranking the gear to a five. Daniel snapped his head to check if they were trailing behind you.
“They’re behind us,” he said.
You shifted your gaze to the rearview mirror, the two automobiles ran between you slowly motioning closer to trap you inside. Immediately, you slowed your pace until the two crashed into each other. You took a left turn to a parking lot, leaving Daniel’s car behind and transferring to a new one.
He sat down on the driver’s seat, afterwards he started the engine up and drove silently to his place. He glanced at you briefly asking, “Where did you learn how to drive like that?”
“My brother used to be part of an illegal street racing competition.” You explained. “He thought me how to drive and trained me to become better than him.”
You paused momentarily, “until he died. He was shot in the head, and it didn’t look like he committed suicide; it seemed more like his death was planned. So I took his place, but I discontinued after three years.”
“When did you start?” He asked again. This time you sighed, “When I was sixteen, Daniel.”
The way you said his name made him shut his mouth close and his heart pound in his chest like a mad dog. It made him drunk over you.
He caught a glimpse of your melancholic grin as he peered at you. He fished out the bag of candies remembering your favorites.
You took a bite of his ice cream when his attention was directed on the television. He noticed you bite on the last bit of dessert, so he faced your direction and closed the gap between you. Your fingers threaded through his strands pulling him closer against you.
Daniel grasped your thighs to wrap around his waist. He pushed his tongue past your lips savoring the taste of the chocolate ice cream. This made your chest heave as he brushed his lips on your neck and moved his hands higher up your thighs.
You ground down your hips to his earning a groan from him in result. Daniel slid his palm underneath your shirt to feel the skin beneath before pulling the remaining clothes off both of you.
He watched you hold dearly onto his neck as he pressed his hips onto yours. Your eyes closing tightly as you panted softly against his ear. Daniel restrained himself wanting this to last longer, thus saying, “You don’t know how crazy you make me.”
You could only sigh at his remark, but to him it was just the right response.
Daniel sat you both up taking an old album from his bag, you both looked at the pictures of a few years ago. It made his chest hurt when you brushed your index finger over the picture of you and your brother; it made him remember the pain you felt when you found out that he was the murderer.
“What’s this?”  You asked looking at the necklace lying on Daniel’s drawer. It resembled that of your brother’s until you saw the rough carving of his name at the back. You stumbled backwards then turned to him, his eyes were wide with remorse. You breathed heavily through your nose before whispering, “You killed my brother.”
Daniel was frozen to the ground as you kept whispering the same sentence to yourself pacing back and forth, then finally keeping your eyes on him. You exclaimed, “You kept this a secret from me. You’re a murderer, Daniel!”
You shoved your things into your bag hurriedly. Daniel tried to stop you from leaving, only this fueled your anger. Suddenly, you slapped him across the face before departing. Daniel dropped to his knees, because he knew that he would only hurt you more if he followed you. He cried, punching the floor of his room, and laughing at his own cruel behavior.
Daniel dismissed the thought and brought you the CD’s you liked listening to. He wanted to hear you speak again; he always wanted to hear you say his name again. Daniel regretted his whole life when you left, but it was worse when he heard you were being taken care of in a psychiatric hospital.
He pressed his lips to yours to reminisce the feel of yours on his. Taking his time to nibble on your bottom lip before leaning away. He begged you, “I love you, so please say it one more time.”
You smiled softly at him and he took this as a cue for him to leave. He pressed his last kiss on your forehead before taking his leave.
He was about to close the door of your room until he heard you speak with a sad smile on your face, “Please don’t come back.”
Daniel forced out a smile of his own before closing the door completely.

Yes, I’m Home (A NU’EST fanfiction)
Writer’s Note:
Wanna One has finally wrapped up promotions, and have a few days of break. So, I decided to pen a short fanfiction, to what I imagined was the long awaited NU’EST reunion. A hint of BaekMin is in here, so read on to find it.
“Okay you guys can go off, but remember, be on your best behaviour, don’t cause any trouble out there,” the Wanna One manager reminded the boys for the umpteenth time as he checked that the boys had all packed up. Frankly, he was excited to finally get a break as well, since the hectic Wanna One schedule also meant that he lost sleep. But, orders from the company was to make sure the boys are reminded to avoid scandals, so he had to do it, over and over again.
“Yes Hyung, we will stay out of trouble,” The Wanna One boys replied in unison.
At the lobby of the car-park, the boys exchanged hugs and goodbyes, as they set off for their long awaited break. It has been a hectic few months, but through all the exhausting schedules, they developed a strong bond. So, the separation was to a certain extent, bitter sweet. They waited patiently for their respective company’s staff to come pick them up.
The boys had briefly shared their plans for their break with the other members. Daehwi and Woojin, were returning to the BNM dorm to reunite with Youngmin and Donghyun who were preparing for their debut. Similarly, Daniel and Jisung planned to visit the other MMO boys, before returning to home to be with their families. Guanlin couldn’t make time to go back to Taiwan, so he was going to crash at Seonho’s place. Jaehwan, Seongwoo, Jihoon and Jinyoung, were going to spend their break with their families. And Sungwoon and Minhyun were of course, returning to the HOTSHOT and NU’EST dorm respectively. One by one, the boys were picked up, and set off for their well deserved break.
“I’ll tell Seonho that you miss him Minhyun Hyung!” Guanlin waved as he got into the car, leaving Minhyun as the last one waiting.
A million thoughts ran through his mind, as he waited for his manager. He finally got his phone back, and his manager texted him about the bad traffic, which explained why he was running late. He resisted the temptation to text the NU’EST members, as he wanted to give them a surprise when he got home.
Minhyun was oddly restless as he waited. He kept shifting his weight from one leg to another, and he couldn’t stay still. He let out a tired yawn, and rubbed his eyes, which were struggling to stay open. Honestly, he didn’t get much sleep last night. The excitement of finally being able to return to the dorm kept him awake. It felt almost as if he was visiting the home of his girlfriend for the first time -- though ironically, he was just returning home. Either ways, Minhyun was a party mix of sleepy and excitement, as he waited patiently for the familiar NU’EST van.
After about a ten minute wait, his manager finally pulled up. “Sorry Minhyun, the traffic was horrible out there,” the manager apologized with a visible irritation at the traffic.
“It’s okay hyung. Bye Hyung, have a good rest with your girlfriend!” Minhyun called out to the Wanna One manager as he got into the car. He loaded up his bags, and he was off.
Minhyun clenched his fists nervously, and asked, “Are the boys home?”
“Should be, but they may have headed off to the company first to work on the album,” The manager replied as he pounded at the car horn.
“Oh... how has the album prep been? Everything fine?” Minhyun a little disappointed that he may not be able to see the boys right away. And a part of him was a little bitter about not being a part of the comeback album.
“People need to learn how to drive in this country. The album is slowly coming together, Dongho has written a lot of songs, though he isn’t really used to composing without your voice inside. He keeps forgetting, which is kindda troublesome,”
Minhyun knew his manager didn’t say those last words to hurt him, but it still pricked at his heart a little. “Has the dorm been looking... okay?”
“Well...... they can get by I guess...” the manager was afraid to disclose further details, lest it gave Minhyun a stroke. “You should get some rest, you look like a panda. We will be on the road for a while.”
“Okay...” Minhyuhn replied slightly dejected. But, before his mind could wander any further, his exhaustion took over and he entered a deep sleep.
He was finally awoken by someone violently shaking his shoulder. “Minhyun-ah, we’re here.”
Groggily, Minhyun got out and hauled his stuff out. His manager said that he had some errands to run for the company, so he told him to put down his stuff first, and call him once he was done. Minhyun nodded sleepily and made his way up the familiar apartment building.
*ding*  The elevator reached his level. Sleepily, he dragged his luggage over to the apartment. He keyed in the password (which he hoped wasn’t changed) and waited for the door to unlock. *di ri ring* “So they really didn’t change the password,” Minhyun chuckled as he struggled to get in.
When he went in, the dorm was pitch black, with the curtain drawn.
Minhyun thought, “Odd.... guess they really headed off first. Hehe my boys are so hard working.”
He felt around the wall looking for the familiar switch, and as he flicked the light on he, saw flash of light, before returning to darkness again. He felt a soft, cold substance, mixed with a fluffy puff on his face, and he fumbled to get it off. But, it wasn’t budging, in fact, it was slowly pushing him backwards, before he fell butt first onto the floor. Soft giggles could be heard, as he finally pried the thing off his face. After which he was greeted by poppers, and confetti which flew at his face.
“WELCOME HOME!!!!!!” Minhyun heard four familar voices scream as he tore the confetti off his face. He licked his lips and realized that he had first been hit with a cake, which mean the confetti was not coming off. His eyes finally managed to focus on the four boys who looked at him with a cheeky smiled plastered on their faces.
“How? How? How did y’all know I was coming home today? And aren’t you guys at the company working?” Minhyun remarked with a mix of joy and disbelief.
“Manager hyung told us about it last night. So what do you think?” Aron replied as he helped Minhyun to his feet.
“It’s awesome, the cake’s kind of a waste though,” Minhyun laughed as he got up.
“Well we can just eat if off you,” Baekho replied, taking a swipe of cream off Minhyun’s cheek.
Minhyun recoiled unconsciously from Baekho’s touch.
“What’s this, so you can kiss Jisung on the cheek, and Wanna One can kiss you on the cheek, but I can’t even touch you now?” Baekho pouted as he swiped another taste of cream. “People sure can have a change of heart in a few months.”
Minhyun felt guilty so, he pulled Baekho in for a hug, and planted a cream filled kiss on his cheek. “Sorry, I was just surprised. I will never say no to skinship with you guys, you know that.”
“Oh my gosh, the cream!” Baekho complained, with a sheepish grin.
“Stop it you love birds, c’mon let’s get Minhyun’s stuff in. Sorry bro, I took over your room after you left, so you will have to share a room with Jonghyun for the next few days,” Ren said as he proceeded to shift Minhyun’s bags in with Aron’s help.
“Thank you,” Minhyun replied as he continued to harass Baekho with hugs and kisses.
JR placed a heavy hand to stop Minhyun for a moment and said with his signature eye smile, “Welcome home Minhyun.”
Suddenly overwhelmed by emotions, Minhyun swallowed up the tears forming in his eyes and pulled JR into a tight hug.
“Yes, I’m home.”

[request] so if you say no (i’ll ask again)
AUTHOR: ongniels (ali) FANDOM: WANNA ONE/Produce 101 RATING: PG-13 PAIRING: Lai Guanlin/Park Jihoon WORD COUNT: 2,9k WARNING: cursing SUMMARY: “I really don’t know how to get him to like me,” he whines, his head on Seonho’s lap as they lie on the younger boy’s bed. “He seems to have some kind of innate hatred against basketball team captains and guess what? I am one!”
[AO3]
Guanlin is fucked.
He is fucked in every sense of the word.
There are exactly three reasons for that.
One, he had accidentally interrupted Daniel and Seongwoo while making out in the basketball team’s equipment room and he is pretty sure he is scarred for life after having to see both of his friends panting from all the kissing, the two of them having matching boners.
Two, Guanlin kind of destroyed the brand new equipment, which their coach had paid out of his own pocket, with his gracious body movements, also known as flailing, out of shock.
Fun fact, the coach was standing right behind him as it all happened, the emotions on his face going from surprised to horrified and then to absolutely furious in the span of three seconds.
And, last but not least, he had thought it would be the best to make a run for it, since he was pretty sure the coach would beat the hell out of him once he got his hands on him.
What he hadn’t expected though, was for the coach to run after him while shouting profanities in various kinds of tones and different languages.
So yeah, Guanlin is fucked because he is running with the coach hot on his heels and, although he has been in this stupid boarding school for almost a year now, he has no damn clue where the heck he is heading to right now.
“Shit, move!” Guanlin yells at two students in the hall.
He carefully shoves them out of the way and keeps running straight ahead until he sees a painting in one of the hallways that reminds him of the one that is right in front of Seonho’s room – and oh!
That’s it!
Guanlin takes a left so that he can go into that hallway and then opens the third door on the right. Thankfully, it’s open and he goes in without a problem, slamming the door shut behind him.
He leans his forehead on the door and pants, exhausted from all the running.
“Uh,” he hears a voice behind him say – it surprisingly does not sound like Seonho and Jesus Christ, fuck.
He turns around just to come face to face with a complete stranger.
Naturally, his first reaction is to yell and fall flat on his ass while the other kid – student – whatever stares at him with the most unimpressed facial expression Guanlin has yet had the honor to witness.
“Shouldn’t I be the one screaming bloody murder?” the boy says.
Now that Guanlin actually looks at the guy, he is… he is kind of gorgeous. He is wearing glasses but he can still see that he has beautiful, big eyes, his lips look soft and he has one of the most blemish-free skins in the whole school, Guanlin is sure.
The boy also has his bangs in a mini pigtail which makes him look kind of adorable.
He feels like his mouth has gone dry at the sight.
Guanlin’s not too sure but he thinks he might even be blushing – which is so not like his cold, popular, basketball captain image, he needs to get a grip.
“Ah – uh….” Guanlin stutters, flustered he looks at the floor. “I’m so sorry! I – I didn’t know this was your room! I am just running a – away from coach because –“
Guanlin isn’t able to finish his sentence because he suddenly feels a bang against the door, the coach shouting “I know you are in there, Lai Guanlin!” over and over again.
He is completely done for – dead.
The boy looks at him with wide eyes before he jumps out of his bed, knocking all of his books onto the floor by accident. He grabs Guanlin’s hand and drags him towards the back of the room without another word, mouthing for him to hide under the bed.
Although Guanlin doesn’t know what the other is planning, he does as he’s told.
His heart is beating frantically in his chest - he is not too sure if it’s because he’s nervous or because the other boy’s hand had felt so incredibly warm around his wrist.
When he notices that the boy is opening the door, he tries to be as quiet as humanly possible, even stopping to breathe for the first five seconds.
“Sir?” the boy questions while opening the door. “What are you doing here?”
“Park Jihoon?” the coach’s voice sounds surprised, Guanlin can see him taking a few steps back. “Is Guanlin in here? I’m pretty sure I saw him coming in.”
“Guanlin? You mean the basketball captain?” Guanlin is thoroughly impressed, the guy – Jihoon? – sounds so sincerely surprised even he would buy it if he wasn’t aware of the truth, he might have to treat him to food if he keeps up the good job. “Why would he be in here? I hate his guts.”
Scratch that. Guanlin is not buying him shit, he is offended.
“Oh, wow, that’s a bit harsh, isn’t it?” The coach mutters and well, Guanlin couldn’t agree more. “Anyway, thanks, if you see him, tell me! The kid has a lot to make up for.”
“Sure, sir, have a nice day!”
As soon as the door is closed, Guanlin crawls out from under the bed and glares at Jihoon.
“Well, good to know that you ‘hate my guts’, really,” Guanlin smiles, voice laced with sarcasm.
Jihoon just laughs. And hey – what the fuck? Why is he laughing? This isn’t the right situation for him to be grinning at Guanlin with the cutest of smiles, his eyes crinkling and adorable laughing lines appearing on his face.
“I don’t even know you, I can’t hate you,” Jihoon says, going back to sit on his bed. “To be honest, I kind of dislike you a little bit just because you’re popular and I’m prejudiced against popular people.”
Guanlin gapes at him, eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
“Oh, don’t tell me you thought everyone likes the basketball captain by default?” Jihoon asks with raised eyebrows. “I mean, I don’t have anything against you, really, I am just not really a big fan for all you stand for, or better, people like you stand for.”
It’s weird. He should be mad about what this boy – Jihoon – is saying but he isn’t. Instead he just wants to prove him wrong, show him that he’s not like every other “basketball captain”.
“And what do I stand for exactly?” Guanlin replies, his arms crossing over his chest as he stares the other boy down.
“Well, first of all, you are a playboy, right? If the rumours I heard about you and Dongbin and that other girl are true, you’re seriously an asshole,” Jihoon starts as he picks up the books that fell onto the floor from where he is sitting on his bed. “You aren’t good at studying either, right? You have just come this far in this private, grade oriented school because you have a knack for basketball and your father donates a lot of money. And lastly, you’re what every other nerd like me is terrified by. Tall, good looking, probably have a few aggression problems and an inferiority complex.”
Jihoon talks so fast, Guanlin sometimes has difficulties following what he is saying but he still gets most of it.
All the stereotypes make him smirk at the other boy.
“First of all, Dongbin and I are friends, I haven’t done anything to him,” Guanlin counters. “My father works as a prosecutor and my mother is a housewife. The most we have donated to the school is a cake to celebrate the first day of school. I actually got a scholarship because I placed first place in my school back in Taiwan. And lastly,” he loves the way Jihoon glares at him as he mocks him. “I don’t have any aggression problems, like at all.”
“Impressive,” Jihoon drawls, unimpressed.
Guanlin feels kind of disappointed at the lack of positive response. He pouts at the other boy who keeps on picking up his books from the floor, as if nothing has happened, as if Guanlin just didn’t destroy every single one of his prejudices.
“Are you going to stay here forever, or?” Jihoon inquires while opening his math book.
“No, don’t worry, I’m leaving,” Just as he is about to leave through the door, he turns around with a sigh. “And thank you, for helping me.”
***
Guanlin suddenly starts to see Jihoon literally everywhere after that: in the hallway during their breaks, in the cafeteria during lunch, after school as Seonho and him walk by the Chemistry lab and even after his basketball practice.
He notices how good the other boy looks when his nose is buried deep into one of his books as he reads them instead of eating, how nice it is whenever he passes the other by and he can listen to his laugh, how cute Jihoon is when he gets teased by his friends in one of the rare occasions they are sitting in the park after class.
To sum it up, he notices what an actual cutie pie Park Jihoon is, no matter how hard the other tries to act like he isn’t.
Guanlin is no idiot, he knows he is infatuated by the other boy, but it still annoys him to see him this much – mostly because he has no clue how to get Jihoon to date him.
***
“Do you want to go on a date?”
Jihoon almost chokes on his lunch and looks at him like he has grown a second head. He even goes as far as to raise one of his eyebrows skillfully and scoff.  Guanlin pats the other’s back, worriedly waiting until Jihoon looks fine again.
“Is this some kind of joke?” he inquires, voice hoarse.
“No?” Guanlin replies, his brows furrowed. “Why would I joke about stuff like that? I’m just asking for a date.”
“Where do you even want to have a date? There is literally no good place in here to have a date,” Jihoon comments, starting to pack his books into his backpack. “Also, I’m not stupid. I don’t know what kind of bet you had with your friends but I’m not going to be part of this.”
“Jesus, Park Jihoon, have a little confidence,” Guanlin blurts out. He receives a death glare from Jihoon for that. “I’m asking you out because I want to, not because of a bet.”
“Yeah, sure, whatever you say.”
Jihoon gets up, swings his backpack onto his shoulder and leaves Guanlin sitting alone.
Guanlin lets his head fall onto the cool surface of the table, cheeks and ears burning up out of the embarrassment of being rejected.
***
Seonho laughs at him for at least an hour when he hears about how Jihoon had just walked out on him. Guanlin is pretty sure he needs a new best friend.
“I really don’t know how to get him to like me,” he whines, his head on Seonho’s lap as they lie on the younger boy’s bed. “He seems to have some kind of innate hatred against basketball team captains and guess what? I am one!”
“Chill, seriously,” Seonho grins down at him. “Just… I don’t know, treat him nicely or something, he will soon realize on his own that you earnestly like him.”
Maybe Seonho is a good friend after all.
***
Guanlin follows Seonho’s advice
He asks the only people he knows that are friends with Jihoon – Jinyoung, Samuel and Daehwi – about all of Jihoon’s likes and dislikes. Apparently, Jihoon loves all things related to video games, soccer and dancing.
That’s why on Monday, he leaves a copy of FIFA 2017 and a play station, covered in wrapping paper, in front of Jihoon’s door with a note that says “I sneaked it in for you, let’s play together sometime! – Guanlin”.
Jihoon doesn’t respond to him. He doesn’t give him back the play station either.
On Tuesday, he buys him some chocolate and other sweets and tells him to come to his room if he wants some more.
Jihoon doesn’t respond to him.
On Wednesday, he leaves his perfect math notes in front of Jihoon’s door after he hears from Samuel that the other has a pretty big quiz coming up and that math has always been difficult for Jihoon. He attaches a note saying “I can help you out if you need something!”.
Jihoon doesn’t respond to him.
On Thursday, Guanlin puts loads of different DVDs right in front of Jihoon’s door and asks him out to a movie night.
Jihoon doesn’t respond to him.
On Friday, he sneaks some tickets for the school play under the slit of Jihoon’s door and informs him that he would really like to watch the play with him.
Jihoon doesn’t respond.
On Saturday, Guanlin is about to let some homemade lunchbox in front of Jihoon’s door, when said boy suddenly opens it, catching Guanlin as he is trying to attach a post-it onto the box.
“What are you doing?” Jihoon glares. “You have been leaving things down there for almost the entire week, what are you planning?”
“I – I….” Guanlin stutters, not really sure what to say. “I just wanted to go out with you.”
“Seriously? Is the prize of your bet so good that you actually have to try this hard? Maybe if you let me know what it is and if you share it with me, I will pretend to go out with you,” Jihoon hisses, obviously angry.
And well, Guanlin is getting tired of his shit.
He just really likes Jihoon, is that such a big crime?
“You know what? Forget it,” Guanlin snarls as he stands up. “Forget that I ever asked you out. Is it so hard to believe that someone actually wants to date you? Do you dislike every other person that is not you so much that you have to doubt their every action? This is no chick flick, there is no bet, I just really like you and want to get to know you, Jesus, get it into your head.”
Guanlin is about to walk away, about to just let things end like this but for some really stupid, unknown reason his stomach churns in a weird way the farther he is from Jihoon’s room – and wow.
He can’t believe that he is actually crushing on someone he has talked to less than ten minutes this much.
“When you stop being stupid, come talk to me, I’d really like to get to know you,” Guanlin says after turning around to look at Jihoon with a small, tired smile.
***
Guanlin, at the tender age of 16, will be a convicted murderer as soon as he opens the door to whoever is loudly knocking on it at fucking two in the morning, and actually kills them.
“The fuck do you want? Do you know how late it –“ the words he was about to say die in his mouth when he spots Jihoon standing there in all of his glory.
Jihoon looks tired, he has dark circles under his eyes and his nose, from what Guanlin can make out thanks to the hallway’s light, seems to be red. Even if he’s tired, he still looks really cute with his bangs in a ponytail and his big, round glasses on.
“I will go on a date with you,” Jihoon blurts out, not even saying hello.
Guanlin can’t help but gape at the older boy, not knowing what to say.  He is still half-asleep, his brain not really awake enough to react to this kind of news.
“Okay,” he nods.
Guanlin is pretty sure he will want to punch himself in the face tomorrow for not saying anything more.
“Okay,” Jihoon echoes, awkwardly shuffling his feet and playing with his fingers as he stands in front of Guanlin’s door. “I’ll go then.”
Before Guanlin knows what he is doing, he takes a hold of Jihoon’s wrist and tugs at it so that Jihoon is barely an inch or so away from him. Then he envelopes the older boy in a hug, his head resting carefully on the top of Jihoon’s as one of his hands is wrapped around Jihoon’s waist and the other is patting Jihoon’s head.
It takes a while for Jihoon to relax into the embrace but when he does, he wraps his arms tightly around Guanlin’s back, his nose tickling Guanlin’s neck lightly.
They stay like that for a while, Guanlin loves every second of it – he is pretty sure Jihoon is able to hear the way his heart is thundering in his chest from all of the excitement. When he ends the hug, he doesn’t let Jihoon get really far ere he cups Jihoon’s cheeks and leans in to kiss his forehead lovingly.
“I’ll take you to class tomorrow, I’ll be waiting at 8 in front of your door,” Guanlin informs Jihoon with a grin.
Jihoon nods, the hint of a smile on his lips, before he turns around and walks away. Guanlin leans against the door, sighing contently, and looks at the other boy until Jihoon disappears into another hallway.
(When he turns around to go back to sleep, he is hit by a pillow, all thanks to his roommate Park Woojin, and then he hears the other mutter something along the lines of “you guys are really cute but if your boyfriend does that shit again at 2 or so in the morning, I’m going to kill you both”.
Guanlin just giggles.)

moving again. this time, into the de:code dorms! rooming with mingyu and seonho is probably the second best scenario ( after just him and mingyu together, but even he thinks that’s optimistic ), so he’s really happy even if it does mean they have to leave their new apartment behind.
they move in on the 10th and 11th, taking their time to get their things in and settled. he doesn’t unpack everything straight away because he’d rather spend some time with the other members and helping everyone get in; he doesn’t need his books right now, so they can stay in the box a week or so. plus, if they’re in the box, he isn’t absentmindedly leaving them everywhere! ( sorry, de:code! )
whilst packing at their apartment, he’s handed the plush mingyu gave him for his birthday in 2017, his anchor to the world and greatest comfort when his boyfriend isn’t around. it makes him kind of emotional, but also reflect on how far they’ve come in just two years and how grateful he is to be doing this all with mingyu.
other than that, they begin special training — won’s focus being harmonisation, which makes him kind of excited for what kind of songs royal has in mind, or hidden ready for them already.
his focus in training in may has been singing ( ach harmonisation, pts singing ) ★
* RELATIONSHIPS —
pretty much guaranteed to be spending all his time with mingyu now, so excited and happy beyond belief. thank you, royal!
but also, he’s kind of worried about bonding with the members of de:code that he’s less familiar with, especially kangjoon given that they haven’t had the best experiences communicating thus far. kangjoon rubs him the wrong way without even really trying but won’s determined to be civil and kind, even if he isn’t too confident about approaching him first.
* PERSONAL  —
so happy to be involved in the de:code plans. part of him can’t really believe it but at the same time? he won’t question it too much because what if they change their mind?
really sad to be leaving their new apartment and own space behind, though. he knows he won’t get as much alone time with mingyu anymore, but it seems like a small sacrifice to make at the moment because he doesn’t really know how much less alone time they’ll have... not to mention they’re debuting, so...
* OBSESSIONS —
music miniskirt by luxe
misc cuddling the plush mingyu gave him. it brings him a lot of comfort so he’s seen with it a lot around the de:code dorm. doesn’t really care that he probably looks like a big soft baby. he’s second youngest, he’s allowed!
* IMPORTANT DATES —
10th — moving into de:code dorm ; day one.
11th — moving into de:code dorm ; day two.
