frankly, the people whose kneejerk reaction to bisan asking for a global strike form the 21st-28th is to say that it takes years to organize a general strike are really unhelpful! no one is saying otherwise, but palestine will be a smoking crater if we all wait for years to do anything - bisan is asking us to do something now. Like are we only supposed to do something if we can do it perfectly??? At some point it’s a valid critique about the work that goes into social movement, and at another point I feel like some people are just trying to absolve themselves from not putting any effort into observing a week of economic inaction.

like idk! I get it, okay! People have bills to pay that don’t magically go away for a strike, we don’t have nearly enough social infrastructure in place to support people to fully stop going to work for a week. But fuck, dude! Stop immediately responding in such a defeatist way! Cut out unnecessary purchases! Try to shop local! Put more effort into promoting Palestinian voices online! Attend a protest, call a local rep, do something!

i think the most canon compliant way to retcon damian being introduced would just be for talia to give damian away like she did in son of the demon but then ra's is like "ummm no <3" and steals him back. then when damian is 8 he meets talia again (like he said he did in batman and robin) so that ra's can have like an actual reason to go on the hunt for an heir again (aka wooing dinah), because yeah we can presume that after damian turns 8 he just stays with his mom, he's holding her hand and everything when he's introduced in batman so i would ASSUME he's been with his mom since they met then. then everything works out and damian is still fully trained under the league of assassins and still has mommy issues lol.

I'm so glad to recruit someone else to my hepatoscopy group because it is a long and storied tradition with many many different types of study and schools of thought dating all the way back to the Sumerians! It's an extremely underrated bit of study when it comes to sketching portraits of divination and prophecy when it comes to adaptations of imaginings of greek myth works - similar to bird augury (which was such a widespread skill that most people had some level of understanding of the basics of what the omens of common birds meant the way people now can look at the clouds over head and know if it'll rain and when approximately that rain'll happen).

It's a great and common misunderstanding that things like prophecy and magic were these fantastic elements that had no tangible features to their practices and while there's nothing wrong with interpreting things as more fantastical for the sake of coolness or aesthetic, I personally think these elements are interesting enough to be worth looking into and portraying!

while i know wwx somehow managed to invent being a passenger princess in a society without cars, i do think in a modern au he would have the most rundown car in existence. it's older than he is. he has to smack it multiple times to get the a/c to work. he lost one of the side mirrors and it was too expensive to track down a replacement so he just duct taped a hand mirror to the side of the car. the drain pipe scrapes against the ground when he goes over bumps. he has definitely lived in it at some point. it is, of course, named suibian
