Watching Sense and Sensibility (2008) for the first time. On E1. Marianne keeps referring to Fanny as "Aunt." Marianne, I know you're young but she is your SISTER-IN-LAW. She is YOUR HALF-BROTHER'S WIFE, not your parent's sister. Andrew Davies of Pride and Prejudice (1995) wrote this? Was he confused about the nature of their relationship? Drunk off his ass? What?

Finally watched the rest of S&S 2008. Despite a few issues, I do like it. If S&S 1995 didn't exist, I'd think this was a really good adaptation, but '95 is always going to win that contest. If S&S 2024 had been longer and thus had more time to develop the characters, it would take the silver, but I'll (reluctantly) give that to '08. Maybe in another ten years or so, we'll have a S&S that is real competition for '95, but I doubt it.
