I followed you originally I think because of gmw. But stayed following because you're a very nice person that's easy to talk to and reblogs a lot of fun stuff even tho we don't share a ton of the same fandoms anymore.

What's on my mind: I just finished my masters degree and I don't feel accomplished or like it was worth it. I think ultimately I just put myself further in debt and it's not going to help me move to a job that makes me want to drill holes in my head less than the one I have now.

Advice: what do you do on the days where you feel lost?

Secret: Part of why I generally consider myself queer but struggle with other labels is I often find myself questioning if I actually have certain feelings/experiences or if I'm just telling myself I do to feel better about myself/like I belong somewhere. I have a hard time figuring out what's genuinely me and what I want.

ok, smile’s gone. this is just cruel. i think i have to choose jane austen because there’s more variety and i revisit it more often, but anne will always be one of my first loves.

i’m trying to be better about not wallowing in my lost days. i’m lucky to have a relationship with my sister where i can try to explain how i’m feeling and if i do a bad job of it or she can’t relate she’s still able to give me some comfort. i’m doing better at that but there are still days where when i feel lost i’ll just try to tune everything out and drown myself in movies or books. let someone else’s story give me some purpose and direction. something else i’ll do is plan something like a trip i’m never going to take or a party i’m never going to throw. something that feels productive and provides some much needed structure.

i feel like a lot of queer people feel this way a lot of the time. i’m a big believer in that even if you don’t have the experience you still have the feelings. some people just aren’t built to go out and experiment or whatever but we live in a society where those people are looked down on and made to feel like there’s something wrong with them. but there isn’t. even if you only ever identify yourself based on how you feel and what you read or see in media, then that is enough. if you feel like you fit somewhere then no one can tell you you don’t. i feel like fitting in somewhere is what being queer is all about. fitting in with the other people who don’t fit in anywhere else.
